Carbon Pollution
As of mid 2017 it has been recorded that a concentration 407 parts per million of Carbon Dioxide are
present in the atmosphere. The current Carbon Dioxide concentration in our atmosphere is the highest
recorded in the past 20 million years and it is due to human activities; mainly fossil fuel consumption
and deforestation. This tremendous increase in malicious greenhouse gases in our atmosphere has
started to have a noticeable impact on our earth. These being increases, and decreases in temperature
throughout the planet and more constant and powerful natural disasters. These effects have mobilized
the efforts of governments throughout different continents to start making significant change in the
policies regarding climate change. carbon offsets, carbon trading and cap and trade are concepts being
implemented throughout countries with the intention of limiting the amount of CO2 major industries
are permitted of releasing. Although, these concepts were created with upright intent, the industries
that such concepts were created for have found ways of corrupting these programs. This is because all
three of the previous concepts have loopholes in which a company can purchase the right to release as
much carbon dioxide as they are willing to spend for it. It is imperative to acknowledge that there are
many defects with these concepts, therefore people need to understand and require for improved
guidelines against major companies and their carbon dioxide footprints. Furthermore,

II. Materials and Methodology
Assay Location
The experiment proper was carried out inside a room in the Medina Residence, which is located at 5
Capt. Miyong St., San Roque, Marikina City, Metro Manila, Philippines. The room experienced
limited sunlight with temperatures that vary from 18°C to 28°C. The set up was placed on top of a
table to eliminate the possibility of animal foraging.
Species Selection
The experiment entailed the utilization of three species of plants. The first species, Oryza sativa Linn.,
was preselected while the last two species were left to the discretion of the proponent of the study.
Prudent seed selection was done to ensure the preservation of the diversity of the plant species that
will be utilized for the experiment.
O. sativa, commonly called rice, is a monocot plant. It belongs to the family of grasses, Poaceae, and
is the main source of carbohydrates in Asian countries. Solanum melongena Linn., commonly called
eggplant, in contrast is a dicot plant. The shrub belongs to the nightshade family, Solanaceae, and is

power of respect, care and desire to win prevailing over racial prejudice. It showcases how individuals
from diversified color, background and culture rose from the occasion and became lifelong friends.
The players, Gerry Bertier and Julius Campbell, and the coaches, Herman Boone and Bill Yoast, are
truly inspiring figures in the film.

The United States which before was pre dominated by white people has been showing resistance to
the black people; they do not want to be associated with them because of their belief that they are the
superior race and that they are entitled to a lot more privileges than their black counterparts.
Conflict, leadership and structural reorganization compose the major internal forces of change in the
team. Due to the replacement of Yoast as head coach, a change in leadership of the Titans, conflict was
created between him and Coach Boone, and between the black and white players of the team.
There are four layers of diversity: Personality, Internal, External, and Organizational dimensions. It is
evident in the clip that demographic characteristics (race), and social and political pressures (values
and leadership) are the major external forces that created the need for change in order for the team to
achieve its outcome.
In the clip, it is seen that black and white players would try to sit opposite each other, and even try to
sit on different buses, during practice at camp they would sit on different benches so as to avoid being
grouped with another color.

Computer Crime Essay
Running head: COMPUTER CRIME
Categories of Computer Crime
S.R Skolnick
Strayer University
In today s society computers are used to commit crimes. These crimes are separated into four
categories. These categories are as follows, the computer as a target, the computer as an instrument of
crime, the computer as incidental to a crime, and crimes associated with the prevalence of computers.
In example of the computer as a target, is a case of Kevin Mitnick. Kevin Mitnick was once known as
the world s most wanted social engineering computer hacker. From the 1970s up to his arrest in 1995,
Mitnick was able to elude them bypass corporate security safeguards. Mitnick was able to get into

These crimes will include but not limited to money laundering, criminal enterprise, child pornography,
and will ring victims into compromising situations.
In this category crimes associated with the prevalence of computers, the crimes include intellectual
property violations, component that, counterfeiting, identity theft, and a number of corporate offenses.
In this category intellectual property violations are described as piracy. Piracy includes the illegal
downloading of music and movies. I believe the category of the computer as a target presents the
greatest overall threat at this present time. The reasons for this is, computers as a target for instance
computer hacking. Computer hacking enables people with this ability to access our nation s defense
system. With this being said, this becomes a national security issue. Secondly, computer as a target
enables people what this ability, to commit identity theft. As we know identity theft is on the rise.
Identity theft causes millions and millions of dollars to be stolen or used by cyber criminals. These
crimes make it very difficult for the victims to get everything back to normal before their identities
were stolen. In this day and age, computers and the Internet have made criminals into better criminals,
while law enforcement, US government, and the court systems are back in the game playing catch up.
Law enforcement does not have

Essay The Laramie Project Critique
The Laramie Project Critique *No Works Cited The Laramie project captured the audience s attention
by utilizing different design methods on stage. This included sound, stage and hand properties, light,
and music. With an ensemble of 10 actors playing over 30 roles, this proved to be an amazing play to
experience. The playwright was constructed in a clear manner, which eliminated the confusion of who
is who. Through the usage of the stage elements as well as the dynamics of each character, this
brought about an effective plot. The first element that made the play dramatic was the sound effects.
The sound of the Wyoming wind was constant throughout the whole play, but as emotional scenes and
climaxes occurred, the sound of wind ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The set was designed in a way that was very versatile and yet, still convey a serious message. By
versatile, I am implying that the open stage with two ramps crossing each other in the background was
plain and simple but served a purpose of several scenes such as a bar, church, and even a funeral. A set
prop that were a key pieces in the play were the wooden benches, these made it possible for the actors
to switch scenes. Some examples on the usage of the benches were when they stacked two benches
one on top of another and turned it into a bar, they turned the bench in a vertical position and created a
podiums to express different religions, or setting the benches in a close and aligned design to create a
church. Other props that influenced the scenes were snow, umbrellas, then using the umbrellas as
angel wings, and of course lighting. Instead of building entire sets, or making the audience use their
imagination with no props included in the play, the set designers and directors created visuals that
were ordinary objects and interacted the audience to use their imagination and build the appropriate
set for the scene in their minds. I believe by keeping a low budget, the designers of The Laramie
Project accomplished a bigger impact on the audience with a simple low budget set rather than an
expensive big fancy set. Props and sound effects were not the only major influences for this greatly
constructed play, but also the

Organ Procurement Organizations are not affiliated or work specifically for any one hospital. OPOs

Desires that entrepreneurs possesses can be used as motivations for establishing the business. ( 7
Langkah Membuat Usaha Sendiri , 2012) desires that a person possesses may be a short term such as
successfully establish the business, have clients, to be known by many people or a long term desire
such as having an increasing income every year.
The next crucial thing that needs to be looked at is managing budget for the soon to established

his or her career. In many cases an amateur businessman tends to miscalculate the budget, and ended
up getting no profit at all. For beginners, there are many ways to obtain enough budgets to start a

American in the 1980 s Essay
The 1980 s is one of the most interesting decades that was experienced in the United States. Dealing
with the stock market, the coming up of new inventions, all the way to the types of music people
listened to. During the 1980s, the only thing that made Americans be Americans was because of the
things they were provided with. Many Americans had fun throughout the 1980s with materialistic,
glamorous, and technological life styles; therefore there were different economical problems that
Americans faced.
During the 1980 s, many Americans were incredibly materialistic; they were only concerned with the

There were many styles that people were able to work with. First off, one of the most common styles
was the retro style. Retro was, in a way, inspired by disco. Americans would often wear flares, which
were types of jeans where the legs got bigger and flared out towards the bottom of the foot
(CITATION, #). This proves that retro was just one of the major fashion statements in the 1980s.
Another style that Americans tried out was the Glamour style. This fashion included top of the line
designers like CoCo Chanel, Versace, and Oscar de la Renta. These designers made a significant
impact on the glamorous lifestyle. Glamorous was over the top, but in a fashionable or unique way
that people like to dress (CITATION, #). People would wear skirts with a huge puffball at the bottom
of it, or switch it up to a nice tight fitting pencil skirt. The economy was a huge factor. Obviously
people wanted the best of the best, but the economy was not doing that well (CITATION, #). There
were some bad things about the agriculture. Since the United States is just coming out of a recession,
they were working on rebuilding businesses in the city so they could expand their business and try to

The Role Of Independent Agencies And The White House Staff...
The modern American presidency is defined as the presidency s transition to the center of American
governance. Distinct from typically passive and isolated presidencies during the 18th and 19th
centuries, the modern American presidency of the mid 20th century set the use of power and
popularity as precedence. The transition to the modern presidency can be understood through the
development of the presidency s institutional, international, and perceptual identity. In this essay, I
will argue that the increasing role of independent agencies and the White House staff that spearheaded
executive policymaking led to a significant institutional change to the presidency. I will also argue
America s expanding international function in response to globalization placed the presidency,
responsible for foreign policy, in a newly found position to exercise power. Finally, I will argue that
the public perception of the presidency as a living reality (Reedy, p. 10) shifted it from a peripheral
political entity to one at the center of policy discussion and leadership. In this essay, I will present
examples of the modern presidency in the attributes of administrations from Franklin D. Roosevelt
through John F. Kennedy, as well as evaluate scholarly models that contextualize how attributes of
these administrations shaped the modern presidency, such as John Burke s Institutional Presidency,
Aaron Wildavsky s Two Presidencies, and George Reedy s American Monarchy.

This report is about an incidental finding during slaughter inspection of the heart in a heifer from a

several types of heart tissues, all of them immature, disordered and, out of proportion. The most
conspicuous was a disperse population of large, vacuolated and PAS positive cells, forming islands,
enmeshed in excessive fibrous connective tissue. These cells were identified as abnormal Purkinje

During the red offal inspection in an abattoir for slaughter bovines, an alteration inside the right free
ventricular wall in a heart was recognized. The affected heart belonged to a commercial cross heifer
from a feedlot. The heart was condemned and the lesion was trimmed for subsequent examination.
Apart from a congested liver that passed inspection, other lesions were not recognized in the carcass.
The official veterinarian thought that the heart lesion could be a scar. Two samples fixed by immersion
in 10% buffered formalin, were submitted to the pathology lab. The samples were processed routinely,
embedded in paraffin, sectioned at 4 µm and stained by H E. Furthermore, special stains such as PAS,
Masson trichrome, and Giemsa were carried out. Macroscopically the lesion was whitish to grayish,
more obvious from the endocardial side and not well defined at edges. The lesion was rhomboidal
with dimensions 4 cm width and 5 cm long. The lesion was smooth on surface, mobile and extensible
as part of myocardium. The myocardium affected was almost entirely the whole wall, including

These famous words spoken by author James A. Baldwin highlight a universal truth. In every society
the unemployed and unproductive are detrimental to the public good. The public policy of the
Mayoral Government of Chicago has led to an ineffective and harmful modality, which has manifested
itself into the colloquially titled Chiraq . Comparative analysis of the City Zoning and Population
Migration between 1985 and 2012 depict a relationship between incidents of housing closure and a
general increase in crime. Throughout the city of Chicago the neighborhoods with the highest
population of displaced people tend to be the ones most susceptible to high rates of crime, and
unemployment. Moreover, the sociological framework of labeling theory typifies why and how these
housing closures manifest in upticks in crime and social unrest.
For this assignment I chose to examine one neighborhood in particular, the far north housing
community named Cabrini Green (Chicago s biggest housing project). The community is ideal for
study due to its proximity to the heart of Chicago, as well as its intractable poverty, which since the
Great Depression has steadily worsened. Cabrini Green was initially designed to house veterans and
their families after the end of World War Two. The apartments made up of a series eight stories high
raises, designed to house a total of 3,600 housing units. Due to

Starbucks Bond Information On Morningstar Essay
Starbucks bond information on Morningstar displays a quoting market price of $107.73 with a fixed
coupon rate of 3.850%, a maturity date of October 1, 2023, and a current yield to maturity of 2.80%.
Starbucks bonds mature in 2022 and 2045 with early indications of yields close to 2.80% and 4.17%
respectively. Starbucks coupon rate of 3.850% is more than the yield to maturity rate of 2.80%
indicating the bond is selling at a premium. Starbucks bond is disbursed semiannually with the bond
maturing in 16 years with a payment of $19.25 and a yield to maturity rate of 1.40% resulting in a
present value of $1074.79. The present value of $1074.79 is slightly less than the purchasing price of
$1077.30 indicating the bond is overvalued, therefore an individual should not purchase Starbucks
bond at this time. Starbucks capital structure as of June 2015 reveals a comparatively low percentage
of debt of 33.1% ($2.9 billion) and a noticeably high equity of 66.9%. These percentages indicate that
67% of Starbucks assets are financed with equity and the remaining 33% is financed with debt. In
other words, Starbucks has a healthy proportion of equity capital as opposed to debt capital, which is a
very positive indication of effective investment quality. Starbucks identified their risk factors on their
company website through their Investor Relations link. Starbucks risk factors are listed on Starbucks

Is Liberal Internationalism Utopian, Or Does It Offer A...
PIED 1511 International Politics Is Liberal internationalism utopian , or does it offer a credible
alternative to Realism? Word count: 2,913 Seminar Tutor: Khalina Zhekova Liberal internationalism
by its very essence is the idea of peaceful co operation in order to maintain both world order and
create harmony for its state to live in by democratic means. In R Gardner s The Comeback of Liberal
Internationalisms he defines this by very similar means, suggesting this political tradition relies on the
necessity of leadership by political democracies . Following the onset of the 20th century the
international political sphere has been characterised by the creations of institutions which have sought
to establish a democratic peace and in many ways often failing to do so. The inability to prevent some
of the most violent conflicts of the last 120 years is perhaps central to the critique that liberal
internationalism should be deemed as far too idealistic in a modern world. In an increasingly familiar
landscape of tyrannical, dangerous leaders it is perhaps unsurprising that the realist school of thought
has come to dominate academic analysis of the current world situation. It would be hard to disagree
with the notion that liberal internationalism is simply not the solution for the problems which still
exist within the world today when you consider the level of ideological disagreement which is
consistently played out upon the world stage. While all

Children Of The Foster System
For years there have been an excessive number of children in and out of the foster system. Quite a few
children have succeeded; however, other children have not. A few children have looked to drugs,
alcohol and violence to cope with what they have gone through and/or what they are currently going
through. A number of those children ended up in a juvenile detention center or prison for breaking the
law. Foster parents are desperately needed to help these children succeed in life and make it through
this terrible time. Although most children can make their own decisions and choose the right path,
children s lives can be changed by just one mistake of their parents . The most common reason that
children end up in the foster system is because of abuse and neglect. If a child ends up in the foster
system they are 95% more likely to be arrested as a juvenile, 28% more likely to be arrested as an
adult, and 30% more likely to commit a violent crime ( Foster Care Statistics ). It is not even the child
s fault that they ended up in the foster system and the percentage of them doing wrong has raised as a
result of their parents decisions. All children in the foster system have a right to a chance of having a
better life. According to mom.me, Harden wrote children in foster care have a high incidence of
mental disturbances than kids not in foster care ( How Can Foster Care Affect The Mind Of A Child ).
This explains why a few of the children lean towards negative people in their

Military Power Analysis
Gideon Rachman suggests perceptions of America s economic and military power in the U.S. and
around the world experienced a sharp decline during the presidency of Barack Obama. After
presenting evidence to support the notion of declining economic and military power of the sole super
power of the last few decades, the author leaves the reader questioning whether the U.S. can adapt to a
bipolar or multipolar power structure or whether the U.S. will pay to recover its dominance. At the
outset, the author provides a number of examples of the failure of the Obama administration to step up
to challenges to U.S. power after the killing of Osama bin Laden in 2011. It is suggested that the U.S.

In addition to the U.S. failing to follow through on promises of military action, the Obama presidency
seemed to be taking a defensive posture and positioning the U.S. into a new world order of rival
power centers, namely the U.S. and China. From the appointment of Senator Check Hagel and Charles
Kupchan to the Obama administration to statements made by the President at the State of the Union
and Hilary Clinton as a 2008 presidential candidate, the Obama administration seemed to be accepting
of the U.S. need to adapt to a new world in order from singular primacy to one that requires allies to
maintain control and dominance. Though the U.S. government would not publicly acknowledge
pursuing a strategy of offshore balancing, the Obama administration s appointments, statements, and
actions suggest a game plan that came right from the offshore balancing playbook. Lastly, the author
lays out the case that the U.S. economy was quickly becoming second to China and that the U.S.
defense spending, along with allies has seen a significant decline over the ten years. Not only has the
defense spending on the U.S. and its allies shrunk over the past decade, but the defense spending of
U.S. adversaries has risen, particularly by countries such as China and Russia. Though the author
provides a few examples of international back pedaling and the decline of U.S. defense spending with
the rise of China s defense spending, it is my

However, careful consideration should be given on the application of the new Mexican guidance as
differences could arise in practice. Expense recognitionemployee benefits Under IFRS, companies
may elect to account for actuarial gains/losses in a manner such that the gains/losses are permanently
excluded from the primary statement of operations. Differing restrictions over how assets are valued
for the purposes of determining expected returns on plan assets exist under IFRS. IFRS allows for the
separation of certain components of net pension costs whereas US GAAP and Mexican FRS do not.
The interest cost and return on assets components of pension cost may be reported as part of financing

result in assets being impaired earlier under IFRS and Mexican FRS. However, there are certain
differences on the impairment testing under the three frameworks. The broad based requirement to

potential for differences compared with US GAAP, wherein development costs are generally expensed

Partial Birth Abortion Persuasive Speech
Whether you were at work, sitting at home watching TV, or not even born yet, there are many crazy

was not even born yet. A few things that happened in 1996 include the vetoing of the ban on a
procedure for late abortions, the Unabomber being captured and arrested, and South Africa receiving a

This means that an expecting mother would have the choice to end her pregnancy later in the term,
just because she doesn t want the baby anymore. Giving the soon to be mothers this option, without a
good reason to do so, makes them bad role models for future parents. Partial birth abortions consist of
the death and intact removal of the fetus from the uterus. This usually occurs between the 19th and
26th week of pregnancy. In most cases, it is only performed on babies that are deformed or dying. In
fact, there are little to no situations you can encounter that require a partially delivered baby to be
killed just to preserve the health of a mother. Almost 80% of partial birth abortions are completely
elective. This means that the procedure is done merely because the mother wants an abortion. Only
about 500 out of the yearly total of 1.5 million abortions, are partial birth abortions. They are mostly
performed for the mother s sake, or because the child has severe abnormalities. Many people believe
that letting a pregnant woman abort their unborn baby, so late in their term, is almost the same as
infanticide. Infanticide is the crime of killing an infant within a year of

Essay about Advertising In Baseball Stadiums
Introduction
Baseball is considered to be America s favorite pastime and has become popular all over the world.
This sport is watched by millions of people every time there is a game played. People will go to the
stadiums to watch and a lot of fans will watch the game on television. Since there are so many people
watching these games, advertising has become more and more apart of every baseball stadium due to
the amount of exposure a company can receive by using the many types of ads found in a baseball
stadium. The stadiums use billboards, fences, green screens, merchandise, airplanes, names of
stadiums, and scoreboards as all different ways to advertise a company s product.

the scoreboard, people have to look at the outfield and have really no choice to look at the
advertisements on the fences. GAP Inc. really benefited from company s putting there ads on the
fence, because left centerfield and right centerfield are called the gap in baseball leaving a lot of
stadiums to use GAP as their advertisement in that area on the fence. Fences are really useful due to
how visible they are throughout an entire game.
Green Screens
Technology is making advertising much easier in baseball stadiums and the use of green screens is
really starting to take off. Greens screens are only visible to fans watching the game on television, but
are very useful due to how easy it is to switch an advertisement during an inning of the game. The
green screens are usually located behind the umpire on the backstop to left of batter s box for left
handed batters. This is not a distraction to pitchers or infielders, because they use a green screen which
is similar to the centerfield sitting area. This area never sits any fans and is either black or green in a
stadium so that the batter is not distracted when a pitcher is throwing a pitch. Marketers like the ads
because they dominate the background behind the pitcher hitter confrontation, which is the central
image in a baseball telecast. Plus, if an advertisement takes place during

The Importance Of Web Based Communication
The most fundamental method of human expression is communication through both verbal and non
verbal means. As technology, has rapidly developed over the past two decades, and continues to
evolve at a staggering pace leading into the future, people have taken to the World Wide Web (WWW)
as an extension of basic communication capability. WWW communication allows people to quickly
reach out to one another throughout the course of a busy day. As a result of enhanced communication
capability, and a surge in use of communication over the WWW, areas of private professional and
public political life have seen substantial change in recent years. Positive Public Attitude The daily
routines of many individuals have only gotten more hectic in recent years, despite the advantages of
having increased technology. As such, it has become much more difficult for the average worker to
simply reach out with a phone call, or stop in for a face to face conversation with other professionals.
To assist the busy lives of individuals, web based communication, through secure means, has become
more prevalent. From communicating with a utility company about an electric, water, or gas account,
to seeking medical advice from a family doctor, secure messaging systems are making their mark. A
study of forty three physicians was conducted six months following the implementation of a secure
messaging system called Patient Gateway (PG) to quantify if using secure messaging produced

social statuses in a different types of societies. A bourgeoisie is known as the modern class of
capitalists. The bourgeoisie is a class of entrepreneurs, who fall under the class system developed by
the French. Individuals in this specific type of society are in charge of social production and labor. The
bourgeoisie have had an old antiquity with transforming how societies view the market place. The

Historical materialism plays a key role in deliberating the relations between economic production and
everything else that falls in society. Later in the Communist Manifesto, Karl Marx discusses the
concept of religion and how it ties into this image of capitalism. According to Marx, capitalism is the
worst situation any society can be placed with in. Religion plays another big role in instigating
materialism in such a society. Karl Marx adopted the concept of creating a division of labor which
works in a classless society, in order to determine which individual is capable of what job. The
transition between communism and capitalism involves the financing of personal relations such as the
relation of man and nature. The Proletariat, or also known as, the people go hand in hand with the
Bourgeoisie in a capitalist society. The justification of exploitation, globalization, homogenization of

Stress Analysis
Stress, stressor and stress response might all seem to mean the same thing, but are all defined
differently. Most people express or explain stress as pressure or that they feel pressure when they try
to accomplish something (Rice, 1999). On the other hand, a stressor is the situation itself from which
individuals feel stress and a stress response is the way in which our body acts due to stress, which
includes changes in the mental, emotional and physiological well being (Anisman, 2014). These
concepts are important to understand since they can help to determine how and in which ways to
reduce stress effectively. However, not all situations of stress are unhealthy or unwanted. Eustress is

Ignatius Letter To The Philadelphians Analysis
The letter to the Philadelphians follows next and like the first few letters continues to emphasise the
role of the bishop. I believe even if Ignatius was not a Bishop himself he would still stress the
importance of the bishop in the Church. To Ignatius the bishop is a sacred and important role in
keeping order and spreading the word throughout the Church. In the previous letters Ignatius says that
through the bishop you will find unity in the Church, to the Philadelphians he says through the bishop
you will protect yourselves from schism and heresy in the Church. It is also in this letter that Ignatius

After talking about the resurrection of Christ, Ignatius instructs the Smyrnaeans to beware of the
heretics and not to speak or even meet with them if possible. He says the only thing they can do for
them is to pray for their repentance, even though it will be difficult for them. Only Christ has the
power to redeem the heretics and save them ultimately from themselves. This message to the
Smyrnaeans is a very powerful message to Christianity as a whole and should be at the center piece
for how a Christian is to act. With any religion or belief you will have those who are deemed heretics
in the eyes of the believer. The negative way to deal with the heretics is to confront them with anger
and harm but the positive way is really not to confront them at all. Instead of fighting fire with fire or
Word against word, as a Christian the only thing you can do is leave it in God s hands. This idea is just
as powerful in 100AD as it is in 2016AD. The letter to the Smyrnaeans goes on to reiterate the
message of honoring the Bishop and not doing anything within the Church without the Bishop.
Ignatius says about honoring the Bishop, He who honours the bishop has been honoured by God; he
who does anything without the knowledge of the bishop, does [in reality] serve the devil.

Paul s Dehumanization In All Quiet On The Western Front
In All Quiet on the Western Front, the Great War emotionally destroys Paul through the

is unable to cope with the loss of all his companions. This disturbs him far more than the physical

Psychologically Paul is greatly affected by his experiences in the war and is unable to express his time

The COBOL programming language is typically used in large scale databases in banks and insurance

the C/C++ programming language, but up until the 80 s all business software was written using

from scratch. The amount of investment in networking equipment is also the reason I don t see us
switching to IPv6 in the near future. Even though it would solve the problem of running out of IP
addresses, the amount of money phone companies and business would have to invest to start from

reason that COBOL is still widely used is that it can run on virtually any platform. It can run on

Socioeconomic Status And Quality Of Education
In an ideal world, socioeconomic status would not affect the quality of education one would receive.
Everyone would have the same opportunities to do well in life and rise up the social ladder. Durkheim
(1893) asserted that with universally great public education, economic opportunities would be
relatively equal. Even with equal education levels, there would still exist some inequality in the form
of legitimate inequality (Durkheim 1893), but the excellent public education would level the playing
field, so to speak. However, our world is not an ideal world. We live in a society where money talks
and how rich a person is determines the caliber of their educational background. Research has shown
that a child from a high income family will have a better life chance and that a child from a low
income family has less of a chance to move up the ranks. In my paper, I will argue that there is a
correlation between socioeconomic status and quality of education in that the higher socioeconomic
status a person has, the better education opportunities they will be able to obtain.
Statistically data from Piedmont, CA and East Oakland, CA demonstrates the idea that educational
quality and opportunities is closely related to socioeconomic status. Piedmont, CA is a wealthy city
surrounded by Oakland, a not so well off area. To clarify, the median household income of Piedmont

One aspect of American society to which people should not conform is the platform of the Republican
party. The unwavering conformity of the Republican party prohibits its own members from making
progress. If a certain politician s view does not live up to the GOP s standards then they are
blacklisted. Each political party is entitled to their own ideas, but when any deviation from those ideas
spoils a candidate s chances, then you know the party has gone too far. As a disclaimer, this is not to
shun any republican opinions, it is merely to highlight the fact that the party s ideals have become
extremely restrictive, even amongst its own members. It is essential to recognize that democracy is
designed to function for a society that represents a diversity of opinion. One topic that is of constant
conversation all throughout politics is climate change. Republicans are often characterized by their
firm stance on this issue, mostly denying its existence or validity. This has become a ... Show more

They promise to repeal Obamacare and institute a replacement yet they have still failed to do so
because their stringent ideology prevents them from coming up with an alternative that wouldn t
decrease the number of people covered by health insurance. Anyone who might taint the Republican
orthodoxy is criticized and scorned. This behavior towards their own members dampens their
reputation and dissuades potential members. Mark Cuban, businessman, philanthropist, and investor,
says he would be a republican if it weren t for their obsession with conformity, The Republican Party
requires that all their presidential candidates conform to consensus. If you don t agree with every
platform of the party, not only are you called a RINO, a Republican in Name Only. You are considered
unelectable in primaries and become a source of scorn on Fox News. That s a

Green Card Marriage In The One With Phoebe s Husband
In Friends, a green card marriage is used to create comedy about sexuality. In the season two episode
The One with Phoebe s Husband, the friends find out that Phoebe is married when her husband,
Duncan, stops by Rachel s apartment to give her flowers. Phoebe tells them that she isn t really
married: Duncan was a gay friend from Canada who needed a green card to pursue his ice dancing
career. She didn t tell her friends that she married him because she d had a crush on him in college,
and she knew that they wouldn t approve. She watches him skate in The Ice Capades at Madison
Square Garden, and after the show goes to see him in his dressing room. He tells her that he needs a
divorce because he s actually straight and wants to get married to a different woman. He only thought
he was gay because it meant he would fit in with the other ice dancers. The scene is played as a
straight coming out story, using the tropes of a typical Hollywood LBGT coming out storyline for
comedy. Phoebe is shocked and upset by the revelation of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the end, Phoebe makes the decision to sign the divorce papers, thereby allowing her and Duncan to
move on with their lives.
In Will Grace, green card marriages were used as plot device twice in the first iteration of the series. In
the season one episode, Object of My Rejection, Will, a lawyer, advises his friend Karen that the
quickest way for her maid, Rosario, an illegal alien from El Salvador, to be able to stay in America
would be through marriage. Jack, a gay man and Karen s best friend, agrees to marry Rosario for
$1,000. Will prepares them for their interview with immigration by asking Jack what side of the bed
Rosario sleeps on. When neither of them can answer specific questions, Will reminds them how
serious the interview process

The Search for an Alternative to Aluminium Based Vaccines
Reported incidences of toxicity due to aluminium based vaccines have always been a concern
(Clements, 1996; Clements and Griffiths, 2002; Edleman, 1997). Therefore, there has always been a
constant effort to search for alternative adjuvants. Polymeric micro and nanoparticles can act as a
delivery vehicle and along with their adjuvanting capabilities may enhance the efficacy of the vaccine
(Gregory et al., 2013; Koping Hoggard et al., 2005; Panyam and Labhasetwar, 2003). Biodegradable
polymeric nanoparticles have been studied as potential adjuvants by many researchers but no
considerable success has been achieved in this direction. Moreover, in none of these studies,
immunised test animals were exposed to the actual disease causing agent and efficacy of the
formulations was demonstrated only by the presence of anti tetanus antibodies by ELISA (Johansen et
al., 2000; Katare and Panda, 2006; Raghuvanshi et al., 2001). Absolute estimation of vaccine efficacy
should also be made by exposing the vaccinated individual to the actual disease causing agent.
Furthremore, for a vaccine to be used in pre clinical or clinical studies, potency testing of vaccine
should be undertaken as per WHO and/or pharmocopoeial guidelines for ensuring its efficacy and
acceptability (European Pharmacopoeia, 2008; Indian Pharmacopoeia, 2010; World Health
Organisation, 1990). In our study, the efficacy of the test formulations was evaluated by ELISA as
well as challenge method and synergistic effect of

The Complexity of the United Nations
I choose this topic to reflect more about the complexity of the UN as an organization. In this paper I
want to present an overview standpoint of documents, publications, databases and websites to show
the history and the different branches in the organization and raise some of the accusations behind the
peacekeepers.
After the First World War, people felt the necessity of an international organization with the task of
maintaining global peace. After the 1st World War the League of Nations was the outcome of that
feeling, but it was found that nations were unwilling to give any international authority the jurisdiction
over their lands. But after the result of these selfish policies the Second World War started. At the
close of this second catastrophic war, the minds of men turned again to evoke a more effective world
organization, to establish peace and mutual understanding.
Chapter I of the United Nations Charter lay out the purposes and principles of the United Nations
organization. These principles include the equality and self determination of nations, respect of human
rights and fundamental freedoms.
This organization was planned at a Conference of Nations held at Dumbarton Oaks, U.S.A., and at
another held a few months later at San Francisco. It was named the United Nations Organization
(UNO) and was inaugurated on October 24, 1945. Now, membership has doubled since its
inauguration with 192 member states. New members are admitted if the five sponsoring nations, USA,

Realizing this could make a huge difference and might get one of my ideas used, complete with its
imperfections. Impact on Management Style Although I am not currently a manager in my
department, I am the manager of my classroom. My LSI reflects how I manage my classroom pretty
accurately. In regards to planning, I think the self actualizing illustrates my planning style. According
to the LSI analysis, I am effective because I am able to see possibilities and opportunities in most
situations. I take an open minded, flexible approach to my classroom activities and lab exercises, and I
like to ensure that my students do the same. I don t like doing the same old thing every day, yet at the
same time I maker certain my students know exactly what we are doing every day so that they know
what to expect. With leading, I feel affiliative is what drives my organizational skills. According to the
analysis, I get satisfaction from my own goals, and may have a tendency to impose these goals on my
students. I like to help my students discover for themselves the power of personal goal setting. With
organizing, I think perfectionistic describes my style. Although I didn t score especially high in that
category, I am highly organized and know exactly what I am doing each and every day I go into the
classroom, even weeks ahead of time. It sometimes can be a hindrance, as it tends to lead to a lack of

Research Paper On Clopidogrel Bisulfate
Clopidogrel bisulfate is an oral antiplatelet agent that is used in the treatment of coronary artery,
peripheral vascular, and cerebrovascular diseases. This medication thins your blood to reduce blood
from clotting. The trade name for Clopidogrel is plavix. It is used to prevent heart attacks and strokes
in persons who have had heart disease or previously had a heart attack. It works by helping to keep the

Physical Effects Of Elder Abuse
Elder mistreatment involves any intentional or negligent act caused by a person that causes harm or
risks the harm of a defenseless adult. The abuse can occur at home or in long term care settings such
as nursing homes, adult family homes, and group homes. There are various types of elder
mistreatment, however physical abuse is reported more frequently. Physical abuse is purposely
causing pain and injury through slapping, hitting, and malnutrition. Neglect occurs when a person
refuses or fails to fulfill their obligations to an elder. Neglecting an elder can occur when their food,
medication, funds or medical care are withheld. The signs of abuse and neglect in an elder include
depression, fear, or anxiety. There may also be inconsistencies ... Show more content on

Costs and Benefits of Informal Care:
Informal care contributes to society since it saves the American health care system money.
Due to the unpaid family care that is provided by informal caregivers, less money is spent by
Medicare or Medicaid. Informal care also helps society since it helps control the costs of total long
term care. If informal caregivers did not provide their care, total long term costs would double since
the value of informal care exceeds the costs of paid home care.
The demands for informal care are also increasing due to the growth of the oldest old with chronic
illnesses, more women finding jobs outside of the home, more complex families that include older
relatives living with their adult children, and racial and class inequities. These households may not be
able to afford total long term care and then have to rely on informal caregivers. However, these
families then lack the knowledge they need and are unprepared when they are providing informal care.
They are not informed on the aging process or any sources available to their older

The playwright was constructed in a clear manner, which eliminated the confusion of who is who. Through the usage of the stage elements as well as the dynamics of each character, this brought about an effective plot. The first element that made the play dramatic was the sound effects. By versatile, I am implying that the open stage with two ramps crossing each other in the background was plain and simple but served a purpose of several scenes such as a bar, church, and even a funeral. A set prop that were a key pieces in the play were the wooden benches, these made it possible for the actors to switch scenes. Some examples on the usage of the benches were when they stacked two benches one on top of another and turned it into a bar, they turned the bench in a vertical position and created a podiums to express different religions, or setting the benches in a close and aligned design to create a church. Other props that influenced the scenes were snow, umbrellas, then using the umbrellas as angel wings, and of course lighting. Instead of building entire sets, or making the audience use their imagination with no props included in the play, the set designers and directors created visuals that were ordinary objects and interacted the audience to use their imagination and build the appropriate set for the scene in their minds. I believe by keeping a low budget, the designers of The Laramie Project accomplished a bigger impact on the audience with a simple low budget set rather than an expensive big fancy set. Distinct from typically passive and isolated presidencies during the 18th and 19th centuries, the modern American presidency of the mid 20th century set the use of power and popularity as precedence. The transition to the modern presidency can be understood through the development of the presidency s institutional, international, and perceptual identity. In this essay, I will argue that the increasing role of independent agencies and the White House staff that spearheaded executive policymaking led to a significant institutional change to the presidency. I will also argue America s expanding international function in response to globalization placed the presidency, responsible for foreign policy, in a newly found position to exercise power. Finally, I will argue that the public perception of the presidency as a living reality (Reedy, p. 10) shifted it from a peripheral political entity to one at the center of policy discussion and leadership. In this essay, I will present examples of the modern presidency in the attributes of administrations from Franklin D. Roosevelt through John F. Kennedy, as well as evaluate scholarly models that contextualize how attributes of these administrations shaped the modern presidency, such as John Burke s Institutional Presidency, Aaron Wildavsky s Two Presidencies, and George Reedy s American Monarchy. The lesion, studied by histopathology and immunohistochemistry, resulted composed by several types of heart tissues, all of them immature, disordered and, out of proportion. The most conspicuous was a disperse population of large, vacuolated and PAS positive cells, forming islands, enmeshed in excessive fibrous connective tissue. These cells were identified as abnormal Purkinje fiber like cells, known as spider cells which resulted markedly positive to desmin, and negative for vimentin, smooth muscle α actin and myogenin factor 4. Key words: rhabdomyoma, hamartoma, dysplasia, heart, bovine During the red offal inspection in an abattoir for slaughter bovines, an alteration inside the right free ventricular wall in a heart was recognized. The affected heart belonged to a commercial cross heifer from a feedlot. The heart was condemned and the lesion was trimmed for subsequent examination. Apart from a congested liver that passed inspection, other lesions were not recognized in the carcass. The official veterinarian thought that the heart lesion could be a scar. Two samples fixed by immersion in 10% buffered formalin, were submitted to the pathology lab. The samples were processed routinely, embedded in paraffin, sectioned at 4 µm and stained by H E. Furthermore, special stains such as PAS, Masson trichrome, and Giemsa were carried out. Macroscopically the lesion was whitish to grayish, more obvious from the endocardial side and not well defined at edges. The lesion was rhomboidal with dimensions 4 cm width and 5 cm long. The lesion was smooth on surface, mobile and extensible as part of myocardium. The myocardium affected was almost entirely the whole wall, including papillary muscles and ... • 22. Analysis Of The City Zoning And Population Migration The most dangerous thing to any society is a man with nothing to lose . James A. Baldwin These famous words spoken by author James A. Baldwin highlight a universal truth. In every society the unemployed and unproductive are detrimental to the public good. The public policy of the Mayoral Government of Chicago has led to an ineffective and harmful modality, which has manifested itself into the colloquially titled Chiraq . Comparative analysis of the City Zoning and Population Migration between 1985 and 2012 depict a relationship between incidents of housing closure and a general increase in crime. Throughout the city of Chicago the neighborhoods with the highest population of displaced people tend to be the ones most susceptible to high rates of crime, and unemployment. Moreover, the sociological framework of labeling theory typifies why and how these housing closures manifest in upticks in crime and social unrest. For this assignment I chose to examine one neighborhood in particular, the far north housing community named Cabrini Green (Chicago s biggest housing project). The community is ideal for study due to its proximity to the heart of Chicago, as well as its intractable poverty, which since the Great Depression has steadily worsened. Cabrini Green was initially designed to house veterans and their families after the end of World War Two. Starbucks bonds mature in 2022 and 2045 with early indications of yields close to 2.80% and 4.17% respectively. Starbucks bond is disbursed semiannually with the bond maturing in 16 years with a payment of $19.25 and a yield to maturity rate of 1.40% resulting in a present value of $1074.79. The present value of $1074.79 is slightly less than the purchasing price of $1077.30 indicating the bond is overvalued, therefore an individual should not purchase Starbucks bond at this time. Starbucks capital structure as of June 2015 reveals a comparatively low percentage of debt of 33.1% ($2.9 billion) and a noticeably high equity of 66.9%. These percentages indicate that 67% of Starbucks assets are financed with equity and the remaining 33% is financed with debt. Word count: 2,913 Seminar Tutor: Khalina Zhekova Liberal internationalism by its very essence is the idea of peaceful co operation in order to maintain both world order and create harmony for its state to live in by democratic means. In R Gardner s The Comeback of Liberal Internationalisms he defines this by very similar means, suggesting this political tradition relies on the necessity of leadership by political democracies . Following the onset of the 20th century the international political sphere has been characterised by the creations of institutions which have sought to establish a democratic peace and in many ways often failing to do so. The inability to prevent some of the most violent conflicts of the last 120 years is perhaps central to the critique that liberal internationalism should be deemed as far too idealistic in a modern world. In an increasingly familiar landscape of tyrannical, dangerous leaders it is perhaps unsurprising that the realist school of thought has come to dominate academic analysis of the current world situation. It would be hard to disagree with the notion that liberal internationalism is simply not the solution for the problems which still exist within the world today when you consider the level of ideological disagreement which is consistently played out upon the world stage. • 25. Children Of The Foster System For years there have been an excessive number of children in and out of the foster system. Quite a few children have succeeded; however, other children have not. A few children have looked to drugs, alcohol and violence to cope with what they have gone through and/or what they are currently going through. A number of those children ended up in a juvenile detention center or prison for breaking the law. Foster parents are desperately needed to help these children succeed in life and make it through this terrible time. Although most children can make their own decisions and choose the right path, children s lives can be changed by just one mistake of their parents . The most common reason that children end up in the foster system is because of abuse and neglect. If a child ends up in the foster system they are 95% more likely to be arrested as a juvenile, 28% more likely to be arrested as an adult, and 30% more likely to commit a violent crime ( Foster Care Statistics ). It is not even the child s fault that they ended up in the foster system and the percentage of them doing wrong has raised as a result of their parents decisions. All children in the foster system have a right to a chance of having a better life. After presenting evidence to support the notion of declining economic and military power of the sole super power of the last few decades, the author leaves the reader questioning whether the U.S. can adapt to a bipolar or multipolar power structure or whether the U.S. will pay to recover its dominance. From the appointment of Senator Check Hagel and Charles Kupchan to the Obama administration to statements made by the President at the State of the Union and Hilary Clinton as a 2008 presidential candidate, the Obama administration seemed to be accepting of the U.S. need to adapt to a new world in order from singular primacy to one that requires allies to maintain control and dominance. Though the U.S. government would not publicly acknowledge pursuing a strategy of offshore balancing, the Obama administration s appointments, statements, and actions suggest a game plan that came right from the offshore balancing playbook. The amount of investment in networking equipment is also the reason I don t see us switching to IPv6 in the near future. Even though it would solve the problem of running out of IP addresses, the amount of money phone companies and business would have to invest to start from scratch would be too significant to justify the investment. Also, since COBOL is so well put structured, programmers can easily learn a modern language with some brief training. Today, it is estimated that some 70% of all commercial computer applications are written in COBOL. Another reason that COBOL is still widely used is that it can run on virtually any platform. It can run on UNIX, Windows, or even various types of desktop computers. It has been used in developing business applications for around the last 40 years, so it has proven reliability and stability. Because a majority of this software was written when processors weren t as powerful and memory was limited, good discipline was exercised when programming these applications. It has been estimated that the industry has invested over $5 trillion ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 39. Socioeconomic Status And Quality Of Education In an ideal world, socioeconomic status would not affect the quality of education one would receive. Everyone would have the same opportunities to do well in life and rise up the social ladder. Durkheim (1893) asserted that with universally great public education, economic opportunities would be relatively equal. Even with equal education levels, there would still exist some inequality in the form of legitimate inequality (Durkheim 1893), but the excellent public education would level the playing field, so to speak. However, our world is not an ideal world. We live in a society where money talks and how rich a person is determines the caliber of their educational background. Research has shown that a child from a high income family will have a better life chance and that a child from a low income family has less of a chance to move up the ranks. In my paper, I will argue that there is a correlation between socioeconomic status and quality of education in that the higher socioeconomic status a person has, the better education opportunities they will be able to obtain. Statistically data from Piedmont, CA and East Oakland, CA demonstrates the idea that educational quality and opportunities is closely related to socioeconomic status. Piedmont, CA is a wealthy city surrounded by Oakland, a not so well off area. To clarify, the median household income of Piedmont is $207,222 while East Oakland s median household income is $56,944 (US Census 2013). There is an extremely steep ... The unwavering conformity of the Republican party prohibits its own members from making progress. If a certain politician s view does not live up to the GOP s standards then they are blacklisted. Each political party is entitled to their own ideas, but when any deviation from those ideas spoils a candidate s chances, then you know the party has gone too far. As a disclaimer, this is not to shun any republican opinions, it is merely to highlight the fact that the party s ideals have become extremely restrictive, even amongst its own members. It is essential to recognize that democracy is designed to function for a society that represents a diversity of opinion. • 43. The Search for an Alternative to Aluminium Based Vaccines Reported incidences of toxicity due to aluminium based vaccines have always been a concern (Clements, 1996; Clements and Griffiths, 2002; Edleman, 1997). Therefore, there has always been a constant effort to search for alternative adjuvants. Polymeric micro and nanoparticles can act as a delivery vehicle and along with their adjuvanting capabilities may enhance the efficacy of the vaccine (Gregory et al., 2013; Koping Hoggard et al., 2005; Panyam and Labhasetwar, 2003). Biodegradable polymeric nanoparticles have been studied as potential adjuvants by many researchers but no considerable success has been achieved in this direction. Moreover, in none of these studies, immunised test animals were exposed to the actual disease causing agent and efficacy of the formulations was demonstrated only by the presence of anti tetanus antibodies by ELISA (Johansen et al., 2000; Katare and Panda, 2006; Raghuvanshi et al., 2001). Absolute estimation of vaccine efficacy should also be made by exposing the vaccinated individual to the actual disease causing agent. Furthremore, for a vaccine to be used in pre clinical or clinical studies, potency testing of vaccine should be undertaken as per WHO and/or pharmocopoeial guidelines for ensuring its efficacy and acceptability (European Pharmacopoeia, 2008; Indian Pharmacopoeia, 2010; World Health Organisation, 1990). • 44. The Complexity of the United Nations I choose this topic to reflect more about the complexity of the UN as an organization. In this paper I want to present an overview standpoint of documents, publications, databases and websites to show the history and the different branches in the organization and raise some of the accusations behind the peacekeepers. After the First World War, people felt the necessity of an international organization with the task of maintaining global peace. After the 1st World War the League of Nations was the outcome of that feeling, but it was found that nations were unwilling to give any international authority the jurisdiction over their lands. But after the result of these selfish policies the Second World War started. At the close of this second catastrophic war, the minds of men turned again to evoke a more effective world organization, to establish peace and mutual understanding. Chapter I of the United Nations Charter lay out the purposes and principles of the United Nations organization. These principles include the equality and self determination of nations, respect of human rights and fundamental freedoms. This organization was planned at a Conference of Nations held at Dumbarton Oaks, U.S.A., and at another held a few months later at San Francisco. It was named the United Nations Organization (UNO) and was inaugurated on October 24, 1945. Now, membership has doubled since its inauguration with 192 member states. New members are admitted if the five sponsoring nations, USA, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Costs and Benefits of Informal Care: Informal care contributes to society since it saves the American health care system money. Due to the unpaid family care that is provided by informal caregivers, less money is spent by Medicare or Medicaid. Informal care also helps society since it helps control the costs of total long term care. If informal caregivers did not provide their care, total long term costs would double since the value of informal care exceeds the costs of paid home care. The demands for informal care are also increasing due to the growth of the oldest old with chronic illnesses, more women finding jobs outside of the home, more complex families that include older relatives living with their adult children, and racial and class inequities.
