Undocumented Immigrants
In the past few years a dispute has risen in the middle of the controversy about illegal immigration and
border security. Are the children of illegal immigrants U.S. citizens? This a question that has provoked
intense arguments and various attempts to change the birth right law established in the Fourteen
Amendment. Many conservative people believe the sons and daughters of undocumented immigrants
shouldn t be granted American citizenship. They interpret the 14th amendment to exclude anyone
whose parents are not legal residents of this country. There has even been attempts to change the
Constitution and the Fourteen Amendment more exclusive. Doing so would leave many people
without nationally. Regardless of the countless arguments everyone ... Show more content on

Not only from trying to figure out who is a citizen and who is not but once millions lose the right to
every part of being an American the economy would suffer. There s millions of adults with illegal
parents, many of them also have a college education and a job that contributes to the U.S. economy. If
their citizenship is revoked they would be deported along with their parents to the parents homelands,
Mexico for example who according to the Pew Hispanic Center attributes about 59% of all immigrants
in the U.S. In that case with so many people being sent there, Mexico would experience a great
economic growth. Economic growth that would be caused by an increase in numbers in the work force
and the experience and knowledge many people who used to work in the U.S. would have. According
to Granting Illegal Immigrants a Path to Citizenship Would Boost US and State Economies by Robert
Lynch if illegal immigrants were legalized they would attribute billions of dollar to the economy. In a
time frame of ten years the GDP [a measure of total economic output], of the United States would be
$832 billion. Now imagine what would happen if all those illegal immigrants with potential to help the
economy doubled in number by taking away U.S. citizenship from native born people and instead of
legalizing them they were all deported to solve the immigration problem. How

ELECTRONIC HEALTH INFORMATION EXCHANGE PERSONAL HEALTH RECORS
Electronic health information exchange (HIE) allows doctors, nurses, pharmacists, other health care
providers and patients to appropriately access and securely share a patient s vital medical information
electronically. With improving the value, speed, safety, and cost of the totals patient care.
The Texas Health Services Authority (THSA) is accountable for organizing the implementation of
health information exchange (HIE) in Texas. In the Rio Grande Valley HIE is new and recently being

It assists the Doctors with the correct and updated medical and health records of the patient. All
records will be easily and safely transferable from one health care provider to another as necessary.
Patient can access his/her medical and health records online. With that being said, HIE eliminates a
patient from needing to run from one doctor to another for paperwork and signature. It decreases the
chances of a doctor giving the patient the wrong dose of medicine. It removes the chances that the
nurse could misread what prescription the doctor wrote. HIE is a very smart way to properly manage
an individual s EMR and EHR.
Public Health Record PHR is an electronic record of health related information on an individual that is
used by patients to maintain and manage their health information in a private, secure, and confidential
environment. PHR can include information from a variety of sources, including health care providers
and patients themselves.

Alcoholism In Crash Into Me
Peer Pressure is frequently involved with excessive drinking on college campuses. Alcohol is
prominent in the college culture because it is presented at many social affairs and is part of many
gatherings with peers. Because peers are the most salient social referents in the college environment,
they are a potent influence on alcohol use. Most new acquaintances at college will be drinkers: recent
research indicating that four out of five college students drink. In addition, college peers tend to be
more approving of alcohol use. Exposure to such drinking often leads to increased alcohol use:
students residing in places where heavy drinking is approved and where alcoholic beverages and the
places to consume them are readily available will ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the book Crash Into Me by Liz Seccuro, the audience is taught one of the leading consequence of
alcoholism; rape. Some of the major causes of Alcoholism in college are: availability of alcohol(Pg.
44), social pressure(Pg. 46), and genetic susceptibility to alcohol. Exploring the causes of alcoholism
helps lead to the conclusion that alcohol is a huge part of college culture and there needs to be a policy
to help prevent alcoholistic incidents (like what happened in Crash Into Me) from happening. One
policy that can help with the problem of alcoholism in college is; imposing liability to the social host
that is responsible for the underaged drinking at the party. This policy proposes the idea that social
hosts are in violation of: furnishing alcohol to a minor, and allowing underaged drinking to occur on
property that they control. Thus leading to the point that; the social host may be prosecuted by the
State under a criminal statute and face a fine or imprisonment for the criminal violation (Alcohol
Policy Information System n.d.). This policy can be considered neutral because it contains both
conservative and liberal aspects. The policy proposes more of a moral stance on who s responsible for
the events that happen at the party and the results of what the alcohol does to the underaged drinkers
after the party. The idea of this policy is that the social host is responsible(as well as the person who
committed the crime) and receives a fine or imprisonment for the violation of the law. This policy
would help alcoholism in college because the social hosts would be more vigilant about who drinks or
does drugs at a party that takes place on property that they control. For example; a Fraternity decides
to throw a party, the fraternity mother/father would be in charge of knowing who is drinking and
would attempt to imply precautions to avoid a violation of the law that would ultimately have them
face imprisonment

Pros And Cons Of Zero Tolerance Policing
This study is aimed to investigate zero tolerance policing and the implementation of its policies into
society. By focusing on the pros and cons of this type of policing it will answer the overall question on
whether or not zero tolerance policing is efficient and effective within society. The theories behind
zero tolerance policing can provide specific reasons for why or why not policing needs more or less
discretion when performing certain functions. There are certain legal aspects that back up decisions
made by officers and targeting the statistical data provides the rates of effectiveness with zero
tolerance policing. Zero tolerance policing is data based upon implementation, the needs of the people
backed with the results of implementation decide which statistical method of policing is best for
society. Based on the finding from the data of societal measurement and effectiveness the decision on
whether or not to continue pursuing zero tolerance policing or revert to other methods can be
completely valid to specific fact based results.
Introduction
Society has a need for quality and equal justice along with protection for everyone and the process of
how to effectively implement such a thing has been an issue for many years. Focusing on the
problems of society incorporates methods of trying to fix it from political measures to law
enforcement measures. The combined effort of the two brings out the issue of what method should be
used to dominate the problems. Looking at

Evolution Vs Saltwater Crocodile
The theory of evolution is a species will adapt to the environment it is in over generations to ensure
they have the desired traits to survive and reproduce. An exceptional example of evolution is the
saltwater crocodile, who has gone through up to 200 million years of evolution since the cretaceous
period. Adding on to evolution the proof that supports it is the DNA found that links current species
with ancient ancestors, geology how species have certain traits that make them perfectly suited to an
environment, and direct observations on how a current species si alike to a past species. The theory of
evolution is supported by current species for example the saltwater crocodile and many other physical
observations. The individual who created ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

generate one of the strongest bite, saltwater crocodile has a third set of eyelids in order to make sure
that they can see underwater, and last but not least they have organs on the outside of their body able
to detect the amount of salt and ph in the water. This allows crocodiles to have a large amount of
information within a small amount of time. They live in aquatic ecosystems typically around
northwest australian coast, and the island around the coasts of the indian ocean, the weather varies
from place to place. The common abiotic factors are water, sand, and rocks. Common biotic factors
are seaweed, small fish, snakes, birds, insects, mud crabs, turtles, buffalo, wild boar, and monkeys.
The saltwater crocodile is a predator that is at the top of the trophic pyramid as top carnivore. The
populations of these killer animals is only increasing, according to a study done in 2008. The saltwater

Examples Of Why You Cant Repeat The Past In The Great Gatsby
In the book The Great Gatsby Nick tells Gatsby you can t repeat the past gatsby responds with Why of
course you can! I believe gatsby is wrong in this situation. The Great Gatsby does a very good job in
showing us that gatsby is wrong in many different ways and examples. There are also many real life
that can be used as examples to Gatsby being wrong. Also in life and in the book there are
opportunities where you can repeat the past in a good or bad way. My first example of why you can t
repeat the past is in life emotional states change everyday. In this book you can see that Gatsby and
Daisy are not the same people they were 5 years before when they fell in love. Gatsby is so in love
with daisy that he is blind to the truth that they aren t the same they once were neither of them. An
example of this being true is Gatsby and I in turn leaned down and took the small reluctant hand.
Afterword he kept looking at the child with surprise. I don t think he had ever really believed in its
existence before. (117 Fitzgerald) This shows that Daisy has had a child, which completely changes
someone.Gatsby cannot change such a thing, and nothing will ever be the same no matter how much
he wants it to be as it once was. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

How Did George Lose A Timeworn Artifact
George was the last of the thirteen other kids. His opponent stood before him, a menacing smile on his
face. A looming threat that had to be taken down. George felt the sweat running down his face as he
waited, watching the artifact, the timeworn artifact that would give him power. He heard the chants of
the spectators. For them, this was just another game. A simple show to watch for their pleasure. But
not for him. For him this was his job. His life. He remembered his friends. They were gone now. He
had to win this, for them. If he won this cruel game of chance, the artifact could bring his friends back.
Finally, the match commenced. George started circling his opponent. He tripped and fell, the hard
floor opening up a gash on his knee.

Advanced Project Management

1. Who do you believe is at fault in this situation?
I believe that the Project Manager is at fault in this situation. The structures manager strongly advised
the project manager not to stop the activities in this department before testing the plant s high pressure
pneumatic and electrical systems. The structures manager warned the project manager and even
mentioned that the test was scheduled for the next month. I think it would have been more important
to consider this risk and prevent this from happening, alone from a safety perspective. The project
manager also mentioned that his boss expects him to finish this project without a cost overrun.

It is typically used when there is a scope of services, but it is not well defined or when there are too
many uncertainties for the seller to use a fixed price contract.
I probably would try to approach the customer with my problems in hopes of relief. Also, it would
only be fair to the customer to be informed, since it s not a fixed price contract and additional work
would require additional fees to be paid.
4. If you were the customer of this cost plus program, what would your response be for additional
funds for the bathtub period, assuming cost overrun?
Since this is not a fixed price contract, it s quite common that cost overruns occur due to the scope of
services not being well defined. I would consider my options and try to make a decision considering
the most effective and efficient way to complete the project. If additional funds and cost overruns are
inevitable, I would try to determine if it would be worth it to crash the project and reduce costs in
another way. It even depends on the kind of cost plus contract. A CPF contract for example would
actually give the seller an incentive to overspend because the higher the cost the higher the profit. So I
would be more than glad to be involved considering the circumstances.
5. Would your previous answer chang if the program had the money available as a result of an

Reckless Driving in My Neighborhood
Reckless Driving In My Neighborhood
Nancy S. Young

March 13, 2006 Reckless Driving in My Neighborhood Our neighborhood is a place where we should
be comfortable letting our children play, without having to worry about them getting hit by a reckless
driver. If our children are in their on yard, there is still a chance for a speedy driver to loose control
and hit one of them. On the street that I live on there is a great deal of children, of all ages, that ride
bikes and play basketball. The children sometimes use the road to ride their bikes, because there is no
other place for them to ride. Are we supposed to make our children stay off their bikes to satisfy the
drivers, because people do not ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I know that there are not enough police officers to patrol every area all the time, but maybe they could
just go through our neighborhood enough that people can see that the area is being patrolled and then
maybe the traffic would be calmer. Traffic calming can be achieved through citizens based, grassroots
education, enforces and engineering (City of Tulsa, 2005). If the neighbors are worried about traffic
control and the safety of their family, having knowledge on what we might can do, will create
communication between neighbors. The city is developing a traffic calming program, which will help
establish guidelines and criteria for speed humps or other traffic calming devices (City of Tulsa,
2005). Drive 25 is a program designed for engineers to work with neighborhoods to address speed
control issues (City of Tulsa, 2005). Traffic calming is improving the driving and life in a
neighborhood. All the effects of traffic calming are to help reinforce the rights to use their
neighborhood safely and comfortably (SFGOV, 2001). Traffic calming is all about education,
engineering and enforcement. Since I have lived in my neighborhood, there has been reckless driving
everyday around the same time and nothing has been done to enforce the law. Now that my voice has
finally been heard, the drivers will improve toward safe driving and the police officers will be
watching our neighborhood. When you are riding through a

The Importance Of Generations
You can take as much as you can from the generation that has preceded you, but then it s up to you to
make something new. Jackson Browne. Generations have always had an impact on each other, but
something that is big is the fact that generation now are changing more and more than the last, and
while a generation like us are taught by a generation like our parents each generation isn t learning and
living as much like the past. Generations described by me are what we are influenced by most with
our political views, our life choices, our traditions and more. The generation before ours is what we
are sculpted to be like. But what I also believe what is important about generations is three different
ideas of generations. There is the actual definition of generations, what generations are supposed to be
about, and what generations are actually and how they are actually defined culturally. Generations
defined by google is: All of the people born and living at about the same time, regarded collectively.
Generations are what all of us at a certain time are referred to. What mass people are dealing with
whether it be in the past where the generations dealt with the great depression, or in the future when
the generations deal with a new president. It defined is about what the people of a certain time are
dealing with collectively. Generations are what the world uses to improve itself and what it uses to
really create different perspectives on what the world is about and how it

Taking a Look for Clinical Depression
Everyone at some point will encounter a bout with depression. Depression is a common sickness
among people in society for many different reasons. There are numerous types of depression that can
be diagnosed on multiple levels. The diagnosis is usually determined by a primary physician who then
recommends you to either a psychologist or therapy group. Causes of depression can vary from person
to person. There are many factors to consider such as the person s situation, personality, their reactions
to events and family health history. The issues that arise from depression are bad health, heavy
drug/alcohol abuse, and the worst, suicide. Depressions problems can be combated even at its worst, it
just requires the own persons personal efforts. The most common health problems that occur are
anxiety, isolation from others and eating disorders either anorexia or obesity. These issues are already
problems for many developing teens. The need to be accepted by their peers pressures them to want to
look thin and act differently. Other teens that feel out of place become obese and loose motivation to
participate in exercise even if it is best for their health. This disease can be treated, with changing their
diet and exercise, so they do not end up killing themselves. Another concern is drug and alcohol
abusers who lead a life of hardcore drugs and heavy drinking, which can lead to over dosing and or
alcohol poisoning/bad decisions. A part of treatment could be to participate in A.A.

My Reflection On My Capstone Rotation
1. Some of the emotions I experienced at clinical were a sense of self confidence and excitement. In
previous semesters, I feel as if I am typically a little more nervous on the first clinical experience.
However, my emotions were very different starting my capstone rotation. I think this is because I
know I am nearing the end of nursing school and I have much more knowledge than I did at this time
two years ago. I have learned that nursing is a profession of life long learning and each day is an
opportunity to learn something new. Therefore, having those ideas in mind I feel that I didn t make
myself worry about what I didn t know, instead, I was excited and focused on what I was going to
learn. These feelings held true for both shifts ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Two nurses were continuously talking negative about a nurse s aide on the floor. They felt that she
didn t help them as much as she could have and that she picks and chooses who she helps. After taking
a recent workplace violence module in our leadership class this semester, I have a better understanding
on how this impacts patient centered care and that this situation is a very negative workplace behavior.
Initially, I felt that it was best to ignore the situation because as a student I didn t want to get involved.
However, after the gossip continued, attempts to resolve the issue were to state that the floor was busy
and as a PCT I often get behind as well, the nurses then agreed that the unit was busy and moved on to
a different conversation. Throughout the whole ordeal I continued to have my patient s best interest at
priority and didn t let the behavior of these nurses impede on the care being provided. (2 points)
4. Safety concerns that I encountered during the experience were in regards to a patient admitted for
unrelieved chest pain. The patient was in his late seventies and had end stage renal disease. According
to Lewis and colleagues (2014), after age seventy five, renal clearance of medications declines
substantially, which places elderly individuals at risk for medication toxicity (p. 73). However, since
the patient also had end stage renal disease the risk for toxicity was even greater. Because of the

Sports And Exercise Psychology Myths
Sport and Exercise Psychology Myths Timothy R. Horn Emporia State University Myths are
commonly taken as fact when it comes to many of these areas of sport psychology. Coaches, teachers,
and athletes will never change unless they inspect or are taught the facts and research behind these
various theories and behaviors. This can be a large problem for those athletes who are instructed
incorrectly, and it could potentially damage their futures in athletic competitions. Myth #1: Personality
traits alone account for behavior in sports and exercise. (Personality) Researchers since the 1960 s and
1970 s have inspected personality behaviors and had no success in pinning personalities to a certain
sport. For example, successful middle linebackers in football tend to have aggressive personalities, but
other successful linebackers may not have that same personality quality. (Weinburg and Gould, 40).
Correlating personalities to define athletes is no easy task because there are too many variables to
consider. However, there was a study done many years ago in 1977, by Schurr, Ashley and Joy, that
depicted significant results regarding influence on choice and sports performance. They researched
around 2000 students using a questionnaire to find differences between non athletes and athletes. They
concluded that no unique personality profiles deciphered between athletes and non athletes. However,
during their study they did find behavioral correlations when

Two Main Differences And Similarities Between Written And...
Let me start by defining constitution. A constitution is a set of fundamental rules, regulation and
principles established to govern the affairs of a state or an institution. There are two main types of
constitution; the written (codified) constitution and the unwritten (uncodified) constitution. Firstly, let
me define what is meant by a written constitution. It is a formal document, stating the nature of the
constitutional arrangement, the rules that govern the political system and the rights of citizens and the
government institute in a codified form. According to the dictionary meaning, Codified form is to
collect and arrange in a systematic form. That is, the constitution that governs the state is written in a

This constitution usually comes into development by practice. Pek (2008) gives emphasis to the nature
of the UK s constitution, that even though there are some parts of the UK constitution that are
codified, it is still not enough to classify it as a written constitution, since there has been no collective
comparing by the people . The unwritten constitution is characterized by parliamentary supremacy,
royal prerogatives, unitary and monarchical tendencies. In the United Kingdom, one would certainly
argue that they have a constitution, but it is one that exists in an abstract sense, comprising a host of
diverse laws, practices and conventions that have evolved over a long period of time. Most people
argue that the current constitutional settlement in the United Kingdom reflect the principle of
parliamentary supremacy. This means that Parliament can enforce any changes to the constitution as it
wants. Most people would argue that introducing a codified constitution would go against the
principle of parliamentary supremacy. The United Kingdom have all the characteristics of an
unwritten constitution. That is no codified, flexible, not organized etc. Now coming back to it having a
written form. What would be the advantage? As the advantages of a written constitution have been
seen above, it can also be applied in this case. It would be rigid due to the

Dizygotic Twins
According to the textbook, behavioral geneticists study individuals of known genetic similarity
(Chapter 2, section 5, page 47). In this case, they study monozygotic twins and also study dizygotic.
When it comes to monozygotic the textbook talks about how these type of types developed from the
same zygote. Thus, making them similar genetically. However, when it comes to dizygotic twins they
develop from two zygotes instead of one and often similar than any pair of siblings (Chapter 2, section

explain why one twin gets a disease while the other twin doesnt. When it comes to heritability

Clarity Project Paper
The Auditing Standards Board has launched the Clarity Project (Lindberg Seifert, 2011) which is an
effort to make the U.S. Generally Accepted Auditing Standards (U.S. GAAS) easier to comprehend in
the eyes of non public businesses. The Clarity Project will result in the first complete redrafting and
recodification of U.S. GAAS since 1972 (Morris Thomas, 2011, para. 2). Four of the most significant
changes are: changing the format of the standards so they are more consistent and readable, the
wording in the auditor s report, group audit standards, and the authoritative status on the 10 generally
accepted auditing standards (Morris Thomas, 2011). The Clarity Project also includes the process of
integrating the U.S. GAAS with International Standards on Auditing (ISA).
There are five key topics for comparison between ISA and U.S. Auditing Standards. The U.S.
Auditing Standards is broken up between two groups: Auditing Standards Boards (ASB) and Public
Company Accounting Oversight Board (PCAOB). ASB is the authoritative group for non public
companies. PCAOB is the authoritative group for public companies. PCAOB was formed from the
Sarbanes Oxley Act of 2002 (SOX) (Lindberg Seifert, 2011). The five key topics to compare ISA and
US GAAS are: documentation of audit procedures, going concern considerations, internal control over
financial reporting, risk assessment, and use of another auditor. Let s discuss each of them below.
The first topic for comparison is

The Class Of African American History
Color You walk into the classroom and it s the most awkward thing ever. You regret the day you
signed up for this class...African American history. But why? Why did everyone inelegantly stare?
Why does your skin color make matters this problematic? It s essential that a class like African
American history becomes more diverse. Most assume that this class is aiming for an African
American audience. This assumption is completely misleading, but most fall the underdog to. The
homogeneity society amongst the students is bare and should be altered.
I m currently enrolled in African American history. I ve noticed there aren t any people outside of the
African American race in the class. The teacher has noticed out of all 9 years he s been teaching the
class, he s had maybe 8 people that weren t African American. I feel there is no imagined community
within this learning space. In Pratt s essay she tells how Benedict Anderson refers to an imagined
community. Anderson s idea of an imagined community is communities exist as imagined entities in
which people will never know most of their fellow members, meet them or even hear of them, yet in
the minds of each other lives the image of their communication (327). All classes are expected to be
diverse and full of divergence. But yet, we re all in some way in which most think is by race, already
in deep relation. The absence of nonconformity leaves a toll on the class, whereas we are interested in
how people from different races feel

Catcher In The Rye Should Be Banned
Censorship
Is there really an age to be grown up? Should being grown up mean you have responsibilities, like a
house, a job, car, and the actual age of 18? Is that what it takes to be called grown up . In my opinion I
don t think that s the case. I don t think age means anything. It s all about if you are responsible,
polite, respectful, mature etc. Especially when it comes to foul language. Should you have to be a
certain age to be introduced to it? Even when the case has to do with books, and the school providing
you to read them. The question is whether or not The Catcher in the Rye should be banned for age
reasons and because of its language and sexual content. In my opinion it shouldn t be banned for its
language and sexual content. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Which is one word maturity. The reason we have schools today is to give us an education and to make
us ready for the real world. Right? Doesn t that include maturity? Shouldn t schools teach you that?
The book Catcher in the Rye informs you on a lot of things in the real world. Like to grown up, don t
always hold onto the past, that tomorrow is always promise, etc. This book was created for a reason.
So why wouldn t someone want their students to read a book that is so helpful to the world around us.
Even though the language and content may be bad the students should have enough maturity and
respect to be able to hear/read it. Because someday they are going to be introduce to it whether it s
planned or not. So why not sooner than later. One quote that goes forward with maturity is from the
author of The Catcher in the Rye himself which is I think that one of these days, he said, you re going
to have to find out where you want to go. And then you ve got to start going there. But immediately.
You can t afford to lose a minute. Not you. This quote is saying whether or not you want to imagine it
you have to start figuring out what you want to do with you life. And believe it or not the person you
are is the person you wanna be. A quote from the book that explains maturity is How do you know
what you re going to do till you do it? The answer is, you don t. I think I am, but how do I know? This
quote is saying how do you know if you can do something or overcome something if you aren t even
giving a chance. Just like schools banning Catcher in the Rye how do they know that students shouldn
t read that. You just have to sit back and realize that thing aren t always going to be appropriate but it s

The Cask Of Amontillado Chapter 1 Summary
This story tells about premature murder. Poe uses first person viewpoints because in a first person
view human weakness is apparent. The action and dialogue of the charters add a great deal of value to
the plot. Montresor tells the story of the night when he took his revenge on Fortunato, a fellow
nobleman. Angry over some vague insult, he plans to murder his friend during Carnival, a celebration
like Mardi Gras in New Orleans. Montresor chooses to wait until Fortunato is drunk and cannot
understand what is going on. Montresor attracts him into the catacombs to try a cask of amontillado
and then seals him away to die there. The story s setting adds to the atmosphere of horror, as Poe s
usage of time and place cause the readers to predict the next action. The festival gives Montresor an
excellent opportunity not only to appear in disguise, but to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

There is no investigation of Montresor s crime and the criminal himself explains how he committed
the murder more than a half century earlier. He never faces criminal punishment for his wicked
actions. The mystery is in Montresor s motive for killing. His motive is uncertain other than the vague
thousand injuries that he has suffered at the hands of Fortunato to which he mentions. Montresor tries
to convince the reader that his intentions are honorable in an effort to maintain his family motto Nemo
me impune lacessit (No one insults me with impunity). Irony, both dramatic and verbal, plays a
significant part in this process. Dramatic irony occurs when the reader becomes painfully mindful of
what will become of Fortunato even though he continues his descent into the catacombs in search of
the Amontillado. Poe adds to this effect by calling the character Fortunato. It is ironic that a man of
misfortune is named Fortunato, and dressing him in a fool s costume since Montresor means to make a

The Importance Of Being A Good And Effective Leader
One very important aspect of being a good and effective leader includes valuing your employees and
being able to convey to each employee the value that they have to you and the company as an
individual. Christine Comaford wrote The Value of Valuing Employees discussing the importance of
valuing each employee and discussing six specific pitfalls leaders portray when it comes to valuing
employees. The pitfalls include, failing to respond to employee emails, failing to provide feedback
positive or negative, acknowledging people only when they make mistakes, failing to celebrate
victories, showing favoritism, and burning out employees.
Committing pitfalls in leadership The first pitfall Comaford (2013) discusses is Failing to Respond to
Employee Emails . This pitfall is essentially not making enough time to respond and/or not responding
quickly enough to employees, specifically in emails. By not responding to your employees email in a
timely manner, or simply not responding at all makes the employees mind panic and the employee
begin to question themselves and their importance in the company. I have had this happen in my
previous workplace with my district manager. I would send her emails, leave her notes on her desk, or
even ask her in person, face to face to help me out with something or an answer about something and
nine times out of ten she would forget to respond or help me in anyway. This made me not want to

Summary Of Three Girls By Oates
It was like a child s game in which you stare at foliage, grass, clouds in the sky, and suddenly you see
a face or a figure, and after that recognition you can t not see the hidden shape, its staring you in the
face. (Oates, 95)
Oates Three Girls tells the story of two girl poets in the Strand Bookstore in Manhattan on a snowy
day in March of 1956. They wander through the aisles of poetry, with commentary about various poets
and collections of poetries and how they reflected on the girl poets . We were girl poets passionately
enamored of T.S. Eliot but scornful of Robert Frost, whom we d been made to memorize in high
school Slyly we communicated in code phrases from Eliot in the presence of obtuse others in our
dining hall and residence. (Oates, 92) Suddenly she is pulled from her thoughts, as her friend touches
her wrist and guides her further into the store to stumble upon Marilyn Monroe. From here, the girl
poets follow her discretely, with a commentary of how Monroe s discretion was so much different
form how she was normally seen. She was, at that moment, not a garnish blond showgirl , but rather
this woman was an individual wholly absorbed in selecting, leafing through, pausing to read books
(Oates, 93) They continue to follow her until she reaches the storefront, where they volunteer to pay
for her books to keep the secret of her being here. From there they return her books to her outside,
with her gifting them the Selected Poems of Marianne Moore before departing. The story closes with
the two girl poets sharing their first kiss.
The chosen quote, ( It was like a child s game in which you stare at foliage, grass, clouds in the sky,
and suddenly you see a face or a figure, and after that recognition you can t not see the hidden shape,
its staring you in the face. (Oates, 95)) plays not only to the main plot of the story (the girl poets
discovering Marilyn Monroe in the Strand Bookstore), but also to the subplot (the girl poets sharing
their first kiss and becoming lovers) as well. It applies to the main plot very clearly through two sides:
that though by this point in the story only the girl poets have discovered it is Monroe, the realization

Essay On Apollo Space Program
The Apollo space program was arguably one of the most important missions in the entire history of
mankind. This program represented the hopes of one nation and the fears of another. The middle of the
20th century the United States and the Soviet Union were locked in a battle to see who could get to the
moon first known as the space race. This race was intensified by the cold war that was going on
between the two countries at the time as well. The Apollo program first began in 1961 because of the
Soviet Union and very quickly became the backbone for the space program (CSN website). President
Kennedy wanted the program to land a man on the moon by the end of the decade, as he wanted

into earth s atmosphere and burn up. The other part of the rocket would then continue to fly

almost all these abilities without even noticing their doing them. It may not seem very hard to learn

Donaldson s Beowulf Essay
Donaldson s Beowulf
Fate often saves an undoomed man when his courage is good
Beowulf (Donaldson, 12)
The passage that I analyzed spans the action when Beowulf returns to the halls of Heorot after a harsh
battle with Grendel s mother. He returns to king Hrothgar in the great hall of Heorot to say that he has
successfully completed his boast and killed Grendel s mother. Beowulf states that it has been a very
difficult underwater battle and that he has barely escaped with his life, The fight would have been
ended straightway if God had not guarded me (Donaldson, 29). Beowulf mentions this due to the fact
that the sword given to him by Unferth, called Hrunting, was powerless against Grendel s Mother.

During the festivities celebrating Beowulf s victory the King predicts that Beowulf will become the
protector of the Geats until old age takes him and that he will be one of their greatest kings.
Christian and Pagan Elements
(p 28 31)
GRAPH The many references to God in the pages (28 31) of Beowulf reflect Christian beliefs as
opposed to pagan ones. In pagan worship, nature takes the place of God along with the belief that
inanimate objects contain spirits. The Geats would refer to Grendel and his mother as God s enemy
and descendants of Cain. Cain is a biblical reference to the story of Cain and Abel. In this story, Cain
slays his brother Abel and consequently, is banished by God for all of eternity. Because of his role as
the first murderer, Cain is thought to be the father of all monsters.
Another example of Christianity which is evident in Beowulf is the fact that the eye for an eye belief
is practiced. During the second raid of Heorot by Grendel s mother, a very close friend of King
Hrothgar and great warrior named Aeschere is murdered. The monster, not abiding by the laws of the
time, is subject to the eye for an eye belief and then has to be murdered

Liberalism, Civic Reformism and Democracy Essay
Liberalism, Civic Reformism and Democracy
This paper argues that liberalism provides democracy with the experience of civic reformism. Without
it, democracy loses any tie argumentative or practical to a coherent design of public policy
endeavoring to provide the resources for the realization of democratic citizenship. The case for
liberalism rests on an argumentative reconstruction of the function it performs before the rise of a
world economic order and, more specifically, in the creation of the welfare state after the Second
World War. Accordingly, liberalism defines a reformist political program: it is an emancipatory
political project by virtue of its struggle for an egalitarian and universalist extension of citizenship
rights. This ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For its later history, liberalism owes as much to its antecedents (situated at the rise of parliamentary
assemblies and of the rule of law in the Middle Ages), as to its linkages with the republican tradition
of communal self government (from the seventeenth century onwards), and with the socialist tradition
in support for an egalitarian model of society (as from the eighteenth century). Indeed, it is this double
tie what determines that the political history of liberalism belongs to the history of modern democracy:
a representative democracy but, thereby, pluralist. The tie also explains that the economic history of
liberalism cannot be separated from the birth of the welfare state.
In both respects liberalism defines a reformist political program: it is an emancipatory political project
by virtue of its struggle for an egalitarian and universalist extension of citizenship rights. This is but a
formulation of the modern idea of citizenship, conceived of as a universalizable contract of rights. At
the same time, liberalism embraces a socio economic emancipatory project that endeavors to provide
the conditions, within the institutional frame of modern societies, for the accomplishment of
citizenship rights. Let us comment on this double characterization.
Liberal Citizenship: A Universalizable Contract of Rights

Honor Of Honor By Marcus Brutus
There is something about honor that makes people ask themselves what honor really means. Honor
could have many different interpretations. According to the Merriam Webster dictionary, honor is
specified as someone who is respected, has a good reputation, and who is genuinely a good person.
With this denotation in mind, some people might suggest that honor has not changed over time
because some people were looked upon as honorable in the middle ages. For example, Julius Caesar
and Marcus Brutus were both perceived as honorable men throughout the play. However, this depends
on someone s interpretation of honor because the Merriam Webster definition stated that honor is
described as someone who is genuinely a good person. Towards the end of the play Marcus Brutus
killed Julius Caesar. Therefore, he was no longer respected. Years ago society thought of honor
differently. An honorable person was someone who was most likely a knight or a king. The knights
went to battle for their masters. In American today, armies go into battle for their country and loved
ones. Citizens today might characterize honor as a person or group who does something that is an
honorable act. For instance, some might say that Superman is honorable, yet Iron Man is not.
Although both Iron Man and Superman save lives, Iron Man is complaisant and greedy. There is no
question that the aspect of honor has changed over time. The concept of honor is different now than it
was over 100 years ago. To begin, at least

Experimental Experiment
The trial conducted by the University examining a drug s effect on individual s speaking habits was
conducted in the form of an experimental study. The researchers chose to create two groups to
participate: a treatment group that received the drug and a control group that was given a placebo.
Based on how the treatment group responded to the drug compared to the control group without the
drug, researchers could state that the drug led to improved speech. This structure of study differs from
a correlational study where there are no variables being manipulated, and the intent is to find a
correlation between two measured variables. In addition, an experimental study can lead researchers to
determine a relationship between the independent and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Additionally, the drug could have an impact on the prefrontal cortex, an area of the brain responsible
for decision making (among other things). Those in the treatment group could experience a decline in
their ability to evaluate a situation and make the right decision they would have fewer inhibitions on
their actions. These personality and decision making changes were not observed as a part of this study,
but the treatment group did report a decrease in ability to move the left side of their body. This
decrease in function of the left side of the patients bodies could be a result of the drug affecting more
areas of the frontal lobe than strictly the Broca s area; among other roles, the frontal lobe is
responsible for controlling the movement of muscles and a stimulation of the right frontal lobe could
result in decreased motor function of the left side of the body. This commonly reported side effect
suggests that the drug is unable to target only one portion of the brain the entire frontal lobe is likely
affected. A glaring error in the design of this study is the inconsistencies in the treatment and control
groups. The treatment group consisted of aspiring actors looking to overcome a stuttering problem,
whereas the control group was a group of children with delayed verbal development. The results
gathered by the trial note what happens to the actors after they

Negative Essay On Technology For Animals
Technology for Animals
Often technology is taken too far but is technology for animals taking it too far? Thinking about it
there is technology for animals which has been around for quite some time just not anything too crazy.
Technology that has been around since 2003 is a tracker that is most commonly used on birds working
as GPS tracking. Like technology for humans it can have positive and negative effects It can be
helping the animals for example a 3D printing of a bird s beak or hurting them by drones scaring or
getting too close to wild life. A lot of the current technology is being designed is for service dogs to
help their owners, for example, the FIDO project. Their main goal being able to use technology to
create an accessible way for the dog to help their owner. Technology for animals can be helpful for
people who need it but technology may change our relationships with our animals. The FIDO project
is more of a recent project that focuses on giving people with disabilities the chance for their service
dog to potentially save their life. Owners who require a service animal have special bond because they
do have to depend a lot on their animal. Newer points out the most of technology made for animals is
not designed with the animals experience in mind. This wearable technology for dogs consists of
natural dog behaviors such as biting, tugging, and nose touches all in a vest the dog wears (Jackson 1).
The vest acting like a small computer allowing the

Equifax Data Breach Analysis
An analysis of the Equifax data breach Introduction A recent increase in large scale data breaches has
exposed a multitude of cybersecurity vulnerabilities that pose a definite risk to consumers (Lorio,
2017). In some cases, a data breach can distress an establishment so much that other organizations
experience a backlash from the repercussions (Kosseff, 2011). The Equifax data breach of 2017 is a
perfect example of this kind of event as it caused an overwhelming economic repercussion that
affected other major corporations and more than 143 million credit card customers worldwide
(Janakiraman, Lin, Rishika, 2018). The consumer records appropriated in the Equifax data breach

Essay about The Jamaican Dialect
The History and Sociolinguistic development of the Jamaican Dialect
The topic of dialects is one which linguistic anthropologists have spent much time studying.
Distinctions made between an actual language, a sub standard variety of that language and an actual
dialect are often unclear and the topic of much debate. Recently in the United States there have been
many discussions about Ebonics, or Black English. It has been argued that Ebonics is simply a sub
standard form and degradation of English, while others feel that it should be recognized as an African
influenced English dialect. One of the most recognizable forms of African influenced English is that
spoken by the people of Jamaica. Linguists and sociologists alike have studied ... Show more content

The original inhabitants of Jamaica were the Arowak Indians, a group separate from any of those
living there today. With the arrival of Columbus in 1494, the Arowaks were introduced to the
Europeans, which soon proved to be fatal. By the time Britain conquered Jamaica in 1655, the
Arowaks were extinct. Under British rule the slave trade flourished. Plantations were set up, and
people from all over Africa were taken from their homelands and brought to Jamaica as slaves.
Slavery was extremely profitable in Jamaica, where the climate allowed for mass plantation
agriculture. While some slaves, termed Maroons by the Spanish, escaped and found refuge in the
mountains, those who were forced to work the plantations were also being forced to adapt to their new
environment. In 1834, slavery was abolished in Jamaica through a system where the slaves would
work for wages and eventually buy their freedom. While this idea was theoretically a good way to
displace slavery and bolster the economy, there was simply not enough means to carry it out. The end
result was an enormous gap between the upper class and the newly freed slaves who made up the
lower class. It is this class struggle that has tormented Jamaicans for years.
In 1963, Jamaica gained independence from Britain. However, poverty was endemic, with over half
the population earning only twenty five dollars a week. At this time all of the money in Jamaica is
controlled by the upper

Who Is King Daniel
[2]In the beautiful city of Babylon, there once lived a man named Daniel. [1]He was an advisor to the
king. Daniel was different from the other advisors. He believed in the one true God. One day, two of
the king s other advisors watched as Daniel diligently prayed to God. [6]They hated Daniel. He was
always praying to God for guidance and he was always honest. He wanted to do the right thing. The
advisors despised him because of that. Then one day, as they watched Daniel pray, they came up with
an evil idea. They would write up a document that would say that no one would be allowed to pray.
[5]If they disobeyed this law they would be thrown into the Lion s Den like a piece of meat.
[3]Suddenly, one day after the king had signed the document, they caught him defying the law and
praying any way. They rushed into his room and dragged him to the king s throne room. [4]Forcing

[6]Daniel could barely see anything. He soon heard the sounds of hungry lions around him. He then
began praying to God to keep him safe if it was His will. God heard Daniel s prayers and sent an angel
to close the snarling mouths of the lions. [2]Throughout the night, none of the lions ever bothered him.
Some of them even wanted to cuddle. [3]Unceasingly, Daniel prayed all night. [5] As he sat in the
darkness untouched, he knew the advisors would come back in the morning to see if he had been
killed, which was what they wanted to happen. The next morning Daniel saw streams of light peering
thru the top of the entrance. [4]Hearing a noise above him, Daniel looked up. The king, who had
worried about him all night, was prying the top off the cavern. Daniel, he shouted, are you alive? Did
the God you believe and trust in protect you? Daniel answered him and told him that God had taken
care of him and that he had sent an angel to close the mouths of the lions. The king then sent for help
so that they could pull Daniel out of the deep

Deviations In The Chrysalids
John Wyndham s novel The Chrysalids shows the consequences of going against the beliefs of society
through David who is isolated from society due to his deviant ability. To begin with, being confronted
by town officials, David struggles to fit in with the people of Waknuk as he faced constant deprivation
due to his telepathic abilities. As John writes, To be any kind of deviant is to be hurt always
(Wyndham 167). As stated in the above quote, being a deviant and having telepathic abilities has
many negative effects such as being isolated from your family and sent to the fringes. The society
shown in The Chrysalids have very strong policies on deviations or something that does not follow the
norm. In Waknuk, society sees David s deviant

Physician Assisted Suicide Thesis Statement
Research Paper Topic and Thesis
Terminally ill patients requests for physician assisted suicide are now a viable possibility. Knowing
the pathways to answering to those patients, as their requests for assisted death persist, is upmost
importance. As of June, 9th 2016 California became the fifth state to allow physician assisted suicide.
The California s End of Life Option Act authorizes any individual 18 years of age or older, who has
been diagnosed as terminally ill and fits specific criteria, to solicit administration of assisted dying
drugs at the hands of his/her attending physician. This Act will require specific documentation and
data to be submitted to the California Department of Public Health (CDPH) by the attending physician

While Oregon ranks among the best states in the provisions of excellence of palliative care in 2015
California received a B which revealed an opportunity for improvement (Petrillo, Dzeng, Smith, 2016,
p. 828).
The study also showed that for profit, small and community hospitals had very limited accessibility to
palliative care; and the higher request for physician assisted death came from outpatient facilities. It
has been noted that palliative care practices are extremely low nationwide. Neither primary care
physicians nor specialists who treat terminally ill patients routinely are provided with palliative care
training. These are important facts since statistics show that although most individuals support the
option for a physician assisted suicide the low numbers of actual requests for assisted death reflected
the preference of alternative treatment options. As patients regain the power of making decisions
regarding their care, aggressive pain control measures are put in place; consideration of physician
assisted suicide becomes an avoidable option for a dignified death. Regardless of the views on
physician assisted death healthcare professional

Sleep Walking
Abstract Sleepwalking, also known as somnambulism, is a sleep disorder belonging to the parasomnia
family. Sleepwalking is a disorder that occurs when people walk or do another activity while they are
still asleep. These activities can be as benign as sitting up in bed, walking to the bathroom, and
cleaning, or as hazardous as cooking, driving, having sex, violent gestures, grabbing at hallucinated
objects, or even homicide. The prevalence of sleepwalking in the general population is estimated to be
between 1% and 15%. SLEEPWALKING Sleepwalking, formally known as somnambulism, is a
behavior disorder that originates during deep sleep and results in walking or performing other

Babies and children spend most of their time in this stage, but as we grow older we spend less time in
REM. (Blackman, 2000) * Non REM sleep Non REM sleep is a much deeper, more restful kind of
sleep. In non REM sleep, the person s body is free to move around. Non REM dreams are more likely
to consist of brief, fragmentary impressions that are less emotional and less likely to involve visual
images than REM sleep dreams and are more frequently forgotten. The period of Non REM sleep is
made up of four stages. Each stage can last from 5 to 15 minutes. A completed cycle of sleep consists
of a progression from stages 1 4 before REM sleep is attained, then the cycle starts over again. People
begin the sleep cycle with a period of non REM sleep followed by a very short period of REM sleep
(Chang, 2010). A machine called an electroencephalograph (EEG) allows scientists to see the brain
wave activity as a person passes through the various stages of sleep to determine what type of sleep
the person has entered ( Aserinsky amp; Kleitman, 1953). A person who is wide awake and mentally
active will show a brain wave pattern on the EEG called beta waves. Beta waves are small and fast. As
the person relaxes and gets drowsy, slightly larger and slower alpha waves appear. The alpha waves
are eventually replaced by even slower and larger theta waves. Non REM Stage 1: as theta wave

  • 2. Undocumented Immigrants In the past few years a dispute has risen in the middle of the controversy about illegal immigration and border security. Are the children of illegal immigrants U.S. citizens? This a question that has provoked intense arguments and various attempts to change the birth right law established in the Fourteen Amendment. Many conservative people believe the sons and daughters of undocumented immigrants shouldn t be granted American citizenship. They interpret the 14th amendment to exclude anyone whose parents are not legal residents of this country. There has even been attempts to change the Constitution and the Fourteen Amendment more exclusive. Doing so would leave many people without nationally. Regardless of the countless arguments everyone ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Not only from trying to figure out who is a citizen and who is not but once millions lose the right to every part of being an American the economy would suffer. There s millions of adults with illegal parents, many of them also have a college education and a job that contributes to the U.S. economy. If their citizenship is revoked they would be deported along with their parents to the parents homelands, Mexico for example who according to the Pew Hispanic Center attributes about 59% of all immigrants in the U.S. In that case with so many people being sent there, Mexico would experience a great economic growth. Economic growth that would be caused by an increase in numbers in the work force and the experience and knowledge many people who used to work in the U.S. would have. According to Granting Illegal Immigrants a Path to Citizenship Would Boost US and State Economies by Robert Lynch if illegal immigrants were legalized they would attribute billions of dollar to the economy. In a time frame of ten years the GDP [a measure of total economic output], of the United States would be $832 billion. Now imagine what would happen if all those illegal immigrants with potential to help the economy doubled in number by taking away U.S. citizenship from native born people and instead of legalizing them they were all deported to solve the immigration problem. • 4. Alcoholism In Crash Into Me Peer Pressure is frequently involved with excessive drinking on college campuses. Alcohol is prominent in the college culture because it is presented at many social affairs and is part of many gatherings with peers. Because peers are the most salient social referents in the college environment, they are a potent influence on alcohol use. Most new acquaintances at college will be drinkers: recent research indicating that four out of five college students drink. In addition, college peers tend to be more approving of alcohol use. Exposure to such drinking often leads to increased alcohol use: students residing in places where heavy drinking is approved and where alcoholic beverages and the places to consume them are readily available will ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In the book Crash Into Me by Liz Seccuro, the audience is taught one of the leading consequence of alcoholism; rape. Some of the major causes of Alcoholism in college are: availability of alcohol(Pg. 44), social pressure(Pg. 46), and genetic susceptibility to alcohol. Exploring the causes of alcoholism helps lead to the conclusion that alcohol is a huge part of college culture and there needs to be a policy to help prevent alcoholistic incidents (like what happened in Crash Into Me) from happening. One policy that can help with the problem of alcoholism in college is; imposing liability to the social host that is responsible for the underaged drinking at the party. This policy proposes the idea that social hosts are in violation of: furnishing alcohol to a minor, and allowing underaged drinking to occur on property that they control. Thus leading to the point that; the social host may be prosecuted by the State under a criminal statute and face a fine or imprisonment for the criminal violation (Alcohol Policy Information System n.d.). This policy can be considered neutral because it contains both conservative and liberal aspects. The policy proposes more of a moral stance on who s responsible for the events that happen at the party and the results of what the alcohol does to the underaged drinkers after the party. The idea of this policy is that the social host is responsible(as well as the person who committed the crime) and receives a fine or imprisonment for the violation of the law. This policy would help alcoholism in college because the social hosts would be more vigilant about who drinks or does drugs at a party that takes place on property that they control. For example; a Fraternity decides to throw a party, the fraternity mother/father would be in charge of knowing who is drinking and would attempt to imply precautions to avoid a violation of the law that would ultimately have them face imprisonment ... • 5. Pros And Cons Of Zero Tolerance Policing This study is aimed to investigate zero tolerance policing and the implementation of its policies into society. By focusing on the pros and cons of this type of policing it will answer the overall question on whether or not zero tolerance policing is efficient and effective within society. The theories behind zero tolerance policing can provide specific reasons for why or why not policing needs more or less discretion when performing certain functions. There are certain legal aspects that back up decisions made by officers and targeting the statistical data provides the rates of effectiveness with zero tolerance policing. Zero tolerance policing is data based upon implementation, the needs of the people backed with the results of implementation decide which statistical method of policing is best for society. Based on the finding from the data of societal measurement and effectiveness the decision on whether or not to continue pursuing zero tolerance policing or revert to other methods can be completely valid to specific fact based results. Introduction Society has a need for quality and equal justice along with protection for everyone and the process of how to effectively implement such a thing has been an issue for many years. Focusing on the problems of society incorporates methods of trying to fix it from political measures to law enforcement measures. The combined effort of the two brings out the issue of what method should be used to dominate the problems. Looking at ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

An exceptional example of evolution is the saltwater crocodile, who has gone through up to 200 million years of evolution since the cretaceous period. Adding on to evolution the proof that supports it is the DNA found that links current species with ancient ancestors, geology how species have certain traits that make them perfectly suited to an environment, and direct observations on how a current species si alike to a past species. • 7. Examples Of Why You Cant Repeat The Past In The Great Gatsby In the book The Great Gatsby Nick tells Gatsby you can t repeat the past gatsby responds with Why of course you can! I believe gatsby is wrong in this situation. The Great Gatsby does a very good job in showing us that gatsby is wrong in many different ways and examples. There are also many real life that can be used as examples to Gatsby being wrong. Also in life and in the book there are opportunities where you can repeat the past in a good or bad way. My first example of why you can t repeat the past is in life emotional states change everyday. In this book you can see that Gatsby and Daisy are not the same people they were 5 years before when they fell in love. Gatsby is so in love with daisy that he is blind to the truth that they aren t the same they once were neither of them. An example of this being true is Gatsby and I in turn leaned down and took the small reluctant hand. Afterword he kept looking at the child with surprise. I don t think he had ever really believed in its existence before. (117 Fitzgerald) This shows that Daisy has had a child, which completely changes someone.Gatsby cannot change such a thing, and nothing will ever be the same no matter how much he wants it to be as it once was. ... The structures manager strongly advised the project manager not to stop the activities in this department before testing the plant s high pressure pneumatic and electrical systems. The structures manager warned the project manager and even mentioned that the test was scheduled for the next month. It is typically used when there is a scope of services, but it is not well defined or when there are too many uncertainties for the seller to use a fixed price contract. I probably would try to approach the customer with my problems in hopes of relief. Also, it would only be fair to the customer to be informed, since it s not a fixed price contract and additional work would require additional fees to be paid. 4. If you were the customer of this cost plus program, what would your response be for additional funds for the bathtub period, assuming cost overrun? Since this is not a fixed price contract, it s quite common that cost overruns occur due to the scope of services not being well defined. I would consider my options and try to make a decision considering the most effective and efficient way to complete the project. If additional funds and cost overruns are inevitable, I would try to determine if it would be worth it to crash the project and reduce costs in another way. It even depends on the kind of cost plus contract. A CPF contract for example would actually give the seller an incentive to overspend because the higher the cost the higher the profit. So I would be more than glad to be involved considering the circumstances. 5. Would your previous answer chang if the program had the money available as a result of an underrun? If our children are in their on yard, there is still a chance for a speedy driver to loose control and hit one of them. On the street that I live on there is a great deal of children, of all ages, that ride bikes and play basketball. I know that there are not enough police officers to patrol every area all the time, but maybe they could just go through our neighborhood enough that people can see that the area is being patrolled and then maybe the traffic would be calmer. Traffic calming can be achieved through citizens based, grassroots education, enforces and engineering (City of Tulsa, 2005). If the neighbors are worried about traffic control and the safety of their family, having knowledge on what we might can do, will create communication between neighbors. The city is developing a traffic calming program, which will help establish guidelines and criteria for speed humps or other traffic calming devices (City of Tulsa, 2005). Drive 25 is a program designed for engineers to work with neighborhoods to address speed control issues (City of Tulsa, 2005). Traffic calming is improving the driving and life in a neighborhood. All the effects of traffic calming are to help reinforce the rights to use their neighborhood safely and comfortably (SFGOV, 2001). Traffic calming is all about education, engineering and enforcement. • 12. The Importance Of Generations You can take as much as you can from the generation that has preceded you, but then it s up to you to make something new. Jackson Browne. Generations have always had an impact on each other, but something that is big is the fact that generation now are changing more and more than the last, and while a generation like us are taught by a generation like our parents each generation isn t learning and living as much like the past. Generations described by me are what we are influenced by most with our political views, our life choices, our traditions and more. The generation before ours is what we are sculpted to be like. But what I also believe what is important about generations is three different ideas of generations. There is the actual definition of generations, what generations are supposed to be about, and what generations are actually and how they are actually defined culturally. Generations defined by google is: All of the people born and living at about the same time, regarded collectively. Generations are what all of us at a certain time are referred to. What mass people are dealing with whether it be in the past where the generations dealt with the great depression, or in the future when the generations deal with a new president. It defined is about what the people of a certain time are dealing with collectively. • 13. Taking a Look for Clinical Depression Everyone at some point will encounter a bout with depression. Depression is a common sickness among people in society for many different reasons. There are numerous types of depression that can be diagnosed on multiple levels. The diagnosis is usually determined by a primary physician who then recommends you to either a psychologist or therapy group. Causes of depression can vary from person to person. There are many factors to consider such as the person s situation, personality, their reactions to events and family health history. The issues that arise from depression are bad health, heavy drug/alcohol abuse, and the worst, suicide. Depressions problems can be combated even at its worst, it just requires the own persons personal efforts. The most common health problems that occur are anxiety, isolation from others and eating disorders either anorexia or obesity. These issues are already problems for many developing teens. The need to be accepted by their peers pressures them to want to look thin and act differently. Other teens that feel out of place become obese and loose motivation to participate in exercise even if it is best for their health. This disease can be treated, with changing their diet and exercise, so they do not end up killing themselves. Another concern is drug and alcohol abusers who lead a life of hardcore drugs and heavy drinking, which can lead to over dosing and or alcohol poisoning/bad decisions. A part of treatment could be to participate in A.A. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In previous semesters, I feel as if I am typically a little more nervous on the first clinical experience. However, my emotions were very different starting my capstone rotation. I think this is because I know I am nearing the end of nursing school and I have much more knowledge than I did at this time two years ago. I have learned that nursing is a profession of life long learning and each day is an opportunity to learn something new. Initially, I felt that it was best to ignore the situation because as a student I didn t want to get involved. However, after the gossip continued, attempts to resolve the issue were to state that the floor was busy and as a PCT I often get behind as well, the nurses then agreed that the unit was busy and moved on to a different conversation. • 18. Sports And Exercise Psychology Myths Sport and Exercise Psychology Myths Timothy R. Horn Emporia State University Myths are commonly taken as fact when it comes to many of these areas of sport psychology. Coaches, teachers, and athletes will never change unless they inspect or are taught the facts and research behind these various theories and behaviors. This can be a large problem for those athletes who are instructed incorrectly, and it could potentially damage their futures in athletic competitions. Myth #1: Personality traits alone account for behavior in sports and exercise. (Personality) Researchers since the 1960 s and 1970 s have inspected personality behaviors and had no success in pinning personalities to a certain sport. For example, successful middle linebackers in football tend to have aggressive personalities, but other successful linebackers may not have that same personality quality. (Weinburg and Gould, 40). Correlating personalities to define athletes is no easy task because there are too many variables to consider. However, there was a study done many years ago in 1977, by Schurr, Ashley and Joy, that depicted significant results regarding influence on choice and sports performance. They researched around 2000 students using a questionnaire to find differences between non athletes and athletes. They concluded that no unique personality profiles deciphered between athletes and non athletes. However, during their study they did find behavioral correlations when ... A constitution is a set of fundamental rules, regulation and principles established to govern the affairs of a state or an institution. There are two main types of constitution; the written (codified) constitution and the unwritten (uncodified) constitution. Firstly, let me define what is meant by a written constitution. It is a formal document, stating the nature of the constitutional arrangement, the rules that govern the political system and the rights of citizens and the government institute in a codified form. The unwritten constitution is characterized by parliamentary supremacy, royal prerogatives, unitary and monarchical tendencies. In the United Kingdom, one would certainly argue that they have a constitution, but it is one that exists in an abstract sense, comprising a host of diverse laws, practices and conventions that have evolved over a long period of time. Most people argue that the current constitutional settlement in the United Kingdom reflect the principle of parliamentary supremacy. This means that Parliament can enforce any changes to the constitution as it wants. Most people would argue that introducing a codified constitution would go against the principle of parliamentary supremacy. The United Kingdom have all the characteristics of an unwritten constitution. That is no codified, flexible, not organized etc. Now coming back to it having a written form. Angry over some vague insult, he plans to murder his friend during Carnival, a celebration like Mardi Gras in New Orleans. The pitfalls include, failing to respond to employee emails, failing to provide feedback positive or negative, acknowledging people only when they make mistakes, failing to celebrate victories, showing favoritism, and burning out employees. Committing pitfalls in leadership The first pitfall Comaford (2013) discusses is Failing to Respond to Employee Emails . This pitfall is essentially not making enough time to respond and/or not responding quickly enough to employees, specifically in emails. By not responding to your employees email in a timely manner, or simply not responding at all makes the employees mind panic and the employee begin to question themselves and their importance in the company. From here, the girl poets follow her discretely, with a commentary of how Monroe s discretion was so much different form how she was normally seen. She was, at that moment, not a garnish blond showgirl , but rather this woman was an individual wholly absorbed in selecting, leafing through, pausing to read books (Oates, 93) They continue to follow her until she reaches the storefront, where they volunteer to pay for her books to keep the secret of her being here. From there they return her books to her outside, with her gifting them the Selected Poems of Marianne Moore before departing. The story closes with the two girl poets sharing their first kiss. Accordingly, liberalism defines a reformist political program: it is an emancipatory political project by virtue of its struggle for an egalitarian and universalist extension of citizenship rights. This ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... For its later history, liberalism owes as much to its antecedents (situated at the rise of parliamentary assemblies and of the rule of law in the Middle Ages), as to its linkages with the republican tradition of communal self government (from the seventeenth century onwards), and with the socialist tradition in support for an egalitarian model of society (as from the eighteenth century). Indeed, it is this double tie what determines that the political history of liberalism belongs to the history of modern democracy: a representative democracy but, thereby, pluralist. The tie also explains that the economic history of liberalism cannot be separated from the birth of the welfare state. In both respects liberalism defines a reformist political program: it is an emancipatory political project by virtue of its struggle for an egalitarian and universalist extension of citizenship rights. This is but a formulation of the modern idea of citizenship, conceived of as a universalizable contract of rights. At the same time, liberalism embraces a socio economic emancipatory project that endeavors to provide the conditions, within the institutional frame of modern societies, for the accomplishment of citizenship rights. Let us comment on this double characterization. Liberal Citizenship: A Universalizable Contract of Rights Firstly, if citizenship denotes the membership statute of individuals and social groups belonging to a political community (namely, a ... • 39. Honor Of Honor By Marcus Brutus There is something about honor that makes people ask themselves what honor really means. Honor could have many different interpretations. According to the Merriam Webster dictionary, honor is specified as someone who is respected, has a good reputation, and who is genuinely a good person. With this denotation in mind, some people might suggest that honor has not changed over time because some people were looked upon as honorable in the middle ages. For example, Julius Caesar and Marcus Brutus were both perceived as honorable men throughout the play. However, this depends on someone s interpretation of honor because the Merriam Webster definition stated that honor is described as someone who is genuinely a good person. Towards the end of the play Marcus Brutus killed Julius Caesar. Therefore, he was no longer respected. Years ago society thought of honor differently. An honorable person was someone who was most likely a knight or a king. The knights went to battle for their masters. In American today, armies go into battle for their country and loved ones. Citizens today might characterize honor as a person or group who does something that is an honorable act. For instance, some might say that Superman is honorable, yet Iron Man is not. Although both Iron Man and Superman save lives, Iron Man is complaisant and greedy. There is no question that the aspect of honor has changed over time. The concept of honor is different now than it was over 100 years ago. To begin, at least ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The researchers chose to create two groups to participate: a treatment group that received the drug and a control group that was given a placebo. Based on how the treatment group responded to the drug compared to the control group without the drug, researchers could state that the drug led to improved speech. Additionally, the drug could have an impact on the prefrontal cortex, an area of the brain responsible for decision making (among other things). Those in the treatment group could experience a decline in their ability to evaluate a situation and make the right decision they would have fewer inhibitions on their actions. These personality and decision making changes were not observed as a part of this study, but the treatment group did report a decrease in ability to move the left side of their body. This decrease in function of the left side of the patients bodies could be a result of the drug affecting more areas of the frontal lobe than strictly the Broca s area; among other roles, the frontal lobe is responsible for controlling the movement of muscles and a stimulation of the right frontal lobe could result in decreased motor function of the left side of the body. This commonly reported side effect suggests that the drug is unable to target only one portion of the brain the entire frontal lobe is likely affected. A glaring error in the design of this study is the inconsistencies in the treatment and control groups. The treatment group consisted of aspiring actors looking to overcome a stuttering problem, whereas the control group was a group of children with delayed verbal development. Thinking about it there is technology for animals which has been around for quite some time just not anything too crazy. Technology that has been around since 2003 is a tracker that is most commonly used on birds working as GPS tracking. Like technology for humans it can have positive and negative effects It can be helping the animals for example a 3D printing of a bird s beak or hurting them by drones scaring or getting too close to wild life. A lot of the current technology is being designed is for service dogs to help their owners, for example, the FIDO project. Their main goal being able to use technology to create an accessible way for the dog to help their owner. Technology for animals can be helpful for people who need it but technology may change our relationships with our animals. The FIDO project is more of a recent project that focuses on giving people with disabilities the chance for their service dog to potentially save their life. Owners who require a service animal have special bond because they do have to depend a lot on their animal. Distinctions made between an actual language, a sub standard variety of that language and an actual dialect are often unclear and the topic of much debate. Recently in the United States there have been many discussions about Ebonics, or Black English. It has been argued that Ebonics is simply a sub standard form and degradation of English, while others feel that it should be recognized as an African influenced English dialect. The original inhabitants of Jamaica were the Arowak Indians, a group separate from any of those living there today. With the arrival of Columbus in 1494, the Arowaks were introduced to the Europeans, which soon proved to be fatal. By the time Britain conquered Jamaica in 1655, the Arowaks were extinct. Under British rule the slave trade flourished. Plantations were set up, and people from all over Africa were taken from their homelands and brought to Jamaica as slaves. Slavery was extremely profitable in Jamaica, where the climate allowed for mass plantation agriculture. While some slaves, termed Maroons by the Spanish, escaped and found refuge in the mountains, those who were forced to work the plantations were also being forced to adapt to their new environment. In 1834, slavery was abolished in Jamaica through a system where the slaves would work for wages and eventually buy their freedom. While this idea was theoretically a good way to displace slavery and bolster the economy, there was simply not enough means to carry it out. The end result was an enormous gap between the upper class and the newly freed slaves who made up the lower class. It is this class struggle that has tormented Jamaicans for years. In 1963, Jamaica gained independence from Britain. However, poverty was endemic, with over half the population earning only twenty five dollars a week. He was always praying to God for guidance and he was always honest. He wanted to do the right thing. The advisors despised him because of that. Then one day, as they watched Daniel pray, they came up with an evil idea. They would write up a document that would say that no one would be allowed to pray. The next morning Daniel saw streams of light peering thru the top of the entrance. [4]Hearing a noise above him, Daniel looked up. It has been noted that palliative care practices are extremely low nationwide. Neither primary care physicians nor specialists who treat terminally ill patients routinely are provided with palliative care training. These are important facts since statistics show that although most individuals support the option for a physician assisted suicide the low numbers of actual requests for assisted death reflected the preference of alternative treatment options. (Blackman, 2000) * Non REM sleep Non REM sleep is a much deeper, more restful kind of sleep. In non REM sleep, the person s body is free to move around. Non REM dreams are more likely to consist of brief, fragmentary impressions that are less emotional and less likely to involve visual images than REM sleep dreams and are more frequently forgotten. The period of Non REM sleep is made up of four stages. Each stage can last from 5 to 15 minutes. A completed cycle of sleep consists of a progression from stages 1 4 before REM sleep is attained, then the cycle starts over again. People begin the sleep cycle with a period of non REM sleep followed by a very short period of REM sleep (Chang, 2010).
