Hepatitis C Target Audience
Hepatitis C
Target Audience My target audience is senior students, both male and female, in high schools located
in Appalachia, encompassing the states of West Virginia, Indiana, Virginia and Kentucky. They are
predominately white and live in rural areas. As upperclassmen, almost all of them have taken general
biology. As incoming college students, they could be willing to try new things, such as injected drugs
and getting a tattoo.
Victims
Hepatitis C used to affect minorities in urban areas. In June 2015, an epidemic has occurred in rural
Appalachia among 18 24 year old white drug users. The sharing of needles contribute to the outbreak.
In parts of Indiana, 25% of the population live in poverty, making treatment options unattainable

The virus then enters the cytoplasm where NOD proteins bind to the RNA of hepatitis C. Then, the
enzyme viral RNA polymerase transcribes a complementary ssRNA strand(Bauman 2012). This RNA
complementary strand is synthesized to act as a template for further transcription. After repeated
transcription, multiple copies of +ssRNA. +ssRNA acts as mRNA. The host cell s ribosome can
translate these codons of mRNA into polypeptides(Bauman 2012). The Incubation period is 42 49
days (Bauman 2012). The body s immune system does respond but is overworked and unable to fight
off HCV infection. The HCV virus replicates more rapidly. The immune system is tending to the liver
damage caused by the viruses. This is why confections of HIV are quite common (Wilkinson 2009).
Five interesting facts
HCV is known as the silent killer due it s long duration on the liver for 20 30 years (Hirsch, 2000).
Liver cirrhosis, which is the end product of liver disease caused by HCV, is the leading cause of organ
transplants in the United States (Hirsch, 2000).
Patients in Asia appear to have the highest adherence to treatment(Wilkinson 2009).
Hepatitis C virus is considered 10 times more infectious than HIV when comparing transmission by
blood to blood contact (Wilkinson

A Serious Spinal Injury
There are an entire host of conditions and situations in which individuals may suffer a fragmented
neck or back that will cause a serious spinal injury. From sports injuries to car and motorbike crashes,
slips, trips and attacks, calamities at work, medical neglect, even infections of the spinal nerve cells,
cysts and tumors that press on the spinal cord and impair it. The hardship of having suffered a serious
spinal injury doesn t have to be the end of the road for an active individual. As the door on a former
life closes, so one to a new one opens. With the right sort of support and supervision, many sufferers
can in fact recuperate enough flexibility to permit them to lead active and satisfying lives, and for
many individuals it essentially

Non-Living Factors Affect Living Things
Have you ever sat down and just thought about life and how we just keep going everyday ? Well I
have , In fact I ve looked up things and asked questions on how we continue everyday . I ve been told
that there are many reasons why we keep going everyday. For instance you must know what the
difference between a non living thing and a dead thing is . And how non living factors affect living
factors . As well as knowing what a living thing is and what the characteristics are to make a living
thing up . In addition to that you must also understand what a molecule is and how there are different
types of molecules that we need on a daily basis to keep going. All in all this information is going to
hopefully help you get a better understanding about the things we need to keep doing . Have you ever
thought about what makes you a living thing ? The characteristics of a living thing are Reproduction ,
growth/development , use energy , reacting to stimuli. The difference between A non living thing and a
dead thing is that a non living was never alive , A dead thing was alive at one point . Non living
factors can affect living factors in a big way. Some non living factors are temperature , soil , water , air
and minerals . An example of a nonliving factor affecting a living factor would be temperature . The
temperature being the nonliving factor can affect living things by either being too hot or too cold when
a living thing needs a certain temperature to stay alive . However there

Okonkwo And The Igbo Clan
Downfall of Okonkwo and the Igbo Clan
Being manly can sometimes be good, but being too manly can lead to complications with family,
religion, and society. The author of Things Fall Apart, Chinua Achebe, portrays the protagonist
Okonkwo as a very manly and masculine man, as a result of his father s laziness and feminine nature.
He wished to acquire the noblest titles, and become a leader of the Igbo clan to show his success as a
man. Hiis short temper led him to beat his three wives and children, especially Nwoye, to make sure
he turned into a man who kept his women in check like himself. Chinua Achebe named the book
Things Fall Apart because Okonkwo is falling apart, the Igbo clan is separating, and Umuofia is
fighting the white missionaries. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

found out his wife did not make his afternoon meal or feed his children, and as a result beat his wife.
The narrator said, But Okonkwo was not the man to stop beating someone half way through, not even

Essential Concepts About Commercial Banks And The...
In current intensely competitive economic market, banking plays an extremely significant role because
it not only enhances economic development, but also provides valuable services to the whole country
(Cv, 2015). Banks accept deposits from savers and lend these deposits to those who need them by
generating financial products such as mortgages and loans. Based on Boatright s perspective, even
though banks are different in size and nature owing to both historical and geographical factors, they
can be broadly defined as financial institutions that perform as a bridge connecting savers and
borrowers throughout providing valuable financial products and services (Boatright, 2010). The object
of this paper is to briefly explain some essential concepts about commercial banks and the
corresponding ethical issues derived from these concepts. There are various types of banks depending
on the area they specialize in, including central banks, commercial banks, investing banks, and retail
banks and so on (Boatright, 2010). This paper focuses on commercial banks, which deal with a variety
of business activities and maintain the core of being financial intermediation (Boatright, 2010). As a
financial intermediation, banks generate profits for all savers, borrowers and themselves by applying
interest rate on both deposits and loans. To have enough money for lending, banks pay savers interest
to encourage them to deposit money into their account. Correspondingly, they also

The Age And Stages Questionnaire
Introduction Children in the early childhood stage are always striving for independence. They are at
the age where they are learning self control and starting to recognize the needs of others (Ashford
LeCroy, 2013). How do delays in development impact these desires? For my developmental and
biopsychosocial assessment I interviewed a 5 year old boy who I will refer to as John. He was recently
diagnosed with developmental delays, and currently receives speech and physical therapy services.
This paper will explore his assessment using the Ages and Stages Questionnaire (ASQ), as well as
how John s age and environment impacts his development.
Age Assessment Communication
During the assessment John s mother reported that his speech had improved significantly after seeing
a speech therapist for the past year and a half. She also shared that John was not speaking at all up
until February of 2016, and now he uses one or two word phrases. I saw this during my time with
John, where he was unable to form complete sentences. Instead of saying I want a drink he would
point to his cup and whimper. Mom encouraged him to use his words, which resulted in him saying,
drink.
John also struggled with following multistep directions that were unrelated to each other. We started
with an activity where I gave mom three different steps, then her and John preformed them together. I
instructed, walk to the window, touch your head, and come back. John was able to preform all 3

Summary Of Bridge And Fedorowich
Bridge and Fedorowich argue that historians of the British Empire have failed to pay adequate
attention to what they term the British world referring to the white settled Dominions of the Empire
such as Australia and Canada in their histories of empire. They believe traditional explanations of
imperial interaction, like Robinson and Gallagher on informal empire, and David Fieldhouse s concept
of metropole and periphery, are not effective in regards to the Dominions. The authors echo the calls
of historians such as A.G. Hopkins for a more holistic imperial history that integrates imperial and
national history. Bridge and Fedorowich criticise Edward Said s orientalism approach when examining
colonial interactions, which they find lacking ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In these, Bridge and Fedorowich argue that settlers had full civil rights in a pluralistic polity, and
while whiteness was a dominant characteristic in the Dominions it was not a necessity, and therefore
non white people could be accepted into the British world and adopt a British identity. They assert that
this system was in theory, and largely in practice, class and colour blind, allowing non white, non
British, and non Christians to assume important roles in the administration, such as Governor General
Sir Isaac Isaacs, who was Jewish. The authors reject the idea that colonial national identities were
contradictory to imperial British identity, as non British were able to adopt British values and
institutions as their own. Bridge and Fedorowich argue that the migrants to the Dominions helped to
create a new, broader British identity and culture which flowed between the Dominions and Britain,
with many of the political and administrative models pioneered in the Dominions, such as the secret
ballot in Australia, being adopted in Britain. Bridge and Fedorowich even suggest that in some ways
the Dominions were superior to the homeland, citing their lack of established church, controlled
immigration, and state intervention for utilities as some

Kennedy V Nsw Minister For Planning
CASE NOTE: KENNEDY V NSW MINISTER FOR PLANNING [2010] NSWLEC 129
I INTRODUCTION
In this case, Kennedy v NSW Minister for Planning [2010] NSWLEC 129 the plaintiff is identified as
Roy Dutch Kennedy on behalf of Sandon Point Aboriginal Tent Embassy and the defendant is the
NSW Minister for planning . The case was heard in the NSW Land and Environment Court by Justice
Biscoe. The applicant is lodging a review, and thus challenging the grounds of the original decision in
relation to the legality of an administrative decision by the Minister for the Stockland s Developments
Pty Ltd.
II MATERIAL FACTS
The Sandon Point was considered a potential State Significant site under the State Environment
Planning Policy (Major Development) 2005. In April 2006, the Minister authorised Stockland and
Anglican Retirement Villages to submit a concept plan for the development of Sandon Point,
Wollongong. The concept plan was approved in December 2006. In November 2007 the Minister s
approval was challenged in Walker v Minister for Planning [2007] NSWLEC 741, 174 LGERA 127
due to the Minister s failure to take in to consideration the principles of ecological sustainability,
specifically, climate change and flooding. The Court of Appeal found the Minister guilty of failing to
consider public interest in the concept planning stages and made it mandatory to be considered in the
development approval stage.
In mid 2008, an amended concept planning including additional climate change information

This documentary is focused on the numerous immigrants originating from Central America,
undertaking an extremely dangerous journey of about 2500 miles up north towards the southern
border of the United States, where they hope to cross and profit from the wealth available in the U.S..
The movie is accordingly named de Nadie , which translates into No One , and follows various
immigrants on their journeys, interviewing them on their way and depicting the many injustices and
setbacks encountered by each of them. The difficulties emphasized in this documentary are mainly the
one s which are usually overlooked when discussing the issue of U.S immigration, including political,
economical, medical and criminal ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Throughout the documentary stories are told by immigrants who crossed paths with La Mara, some
about fighting back and being savagely injured, others about obeying and surviving and others who
hid and lost everything.
Contributing to all this violence and injustice, one would hope for the just calls of the police.
Unfortunately the police in Central America is just as bad, and is referred to in the movie as the
thieves with permits . The police is generally known not to help the immigrants or at least act
judicially, but rather to assault them, stealing everything they own from them and beating and abusing
them sometimes resulting in casualties. This is confirmed in the documentary by many immigrants
and civilians in Mexico who have personally experienced the abuse and see no bright future for justice
in their country. The police is also accused of being corrupt, so not much can be done against the
situation and malpractices, also due to the unwillingness of the victims to file complaints and raise
awareness. Most are unwilling out of fear of being deported back to their own country, this bringing us
to the next issue, the Immigrations Department. Unfortunately once the immigrants get to the border
of Mexico, the next obstacle addressed in the movie is the Mexico Immigrations Department. In the
documentary the Immigration Department explains how Mexico has become extremely involved in
the U.S immigration procedure of the

A Scandal in Bohemia Essay

The Bohemian Scandal
In Conan Doyle s short story A Scandal in Bohemia (1888), Sherlock Holmes can tell that the stranger
possess great wealth before he speaks a single word. Sherlock Holmes analyzes everything when it
comes to people. He uses their appearance, how they carry themselves, and what kind of objects they
have on them. The author uses descriptive words to describe the way the stranger looked. This essay
will prove that Sherlock Holmes is so observant of everyone, that he can tell who you are before
speaking to you. In the short story A Scandal in Bohemia Mr. Sherlock Holmes receives a letter of the

A man with luxury would have an area where he can get exercise regularly and would be well
nourished. Watson describes his clothing as rich but bad in taste. In many countries being gaudy is a
sign of having wealth. It is a way of expressing that they have more money than everyone else. The
stranger has bands of astrakhan on his sleeves. Astrakhan is fur from a young lambs coat. People with
money tend to wear fur that no one else can afford. He was wearing a cloak with flame coloured silk.
Silk is a precious material that only the rich could trade for. His brooch had a single flaming beryl. A
beryl is a gem, and gems were used as jewelry. The beryl was most likely a rare gem because Watson
described it as a flaming beryl. It was intensely passionate to the eye. The boots were trimmed with
rich brown fur. Notice that he did not describe the fur as just fur. He stated that it was a rich brown fur.
As stated before, most likely an animal s fur that is rare. The man had his face covered with a black

Oryx and Crake Essay
December 12, 2013 The Importance of Childhood in Oryx And Crake In Atwood s novel Oryx and
Crake we see the cause and effect of how our childhood and how we are raised has a large correlation
to what type of adult we become. Through the character of Jimmy and later his new persona
Snowman, the reader is shown the detrimental effects of an abandoned childhood. Not only do Jimmy
s poor choices in his adult life have a clear link to his neglected and unguided childhood they also
create an adult that is emotionally damaged and unable to see the right path in his life even when he
wants to. Atwood s similarities between Jimmy and Snowman and their relationship in his childhood

Having never experienced a positive way to express his feeling in his childhood it caused him to be so
cold and empty in side. He was as inhuman and void of emotions as his small childhood pet. Once the
world s inhabitants are wiped out, Snowman is left with the task of taking care of the Crakers.
Whether it is the fact that Snowman wants to be the parent he never had, or if he just simply doesn t
want to lose his only somewhat human interactions, it is evident that he cares about these creatures. In
the time of crisis he exhibits a compassionate reasonability toward the Crakers because it is his duty to
look after the new race of humans. Perhaps the only positive by product of his dysfunctional
childhood is that he knows what it is like to be deserted and left uncared for so he strives now in his
adulthood as Snowman to protect the Crakers as best he can. Even though Crakers original vision for
these creature was to make them Godless and without art, Snowman taught them things in there
childhood that contradicted there original thoughts. Snowman teaches them about the world and tries
to make them understand their surroundings better, even though his explanations make him feel
isolated and alone; reminding him of the sad childhood that he had. He gives them something to
believe in and he teaches them right from wrong. He becomes the parent that he wishes he had had.
Atwood seems to marvel or poke fun at what our youth can

Andrew Jackson Democracy
Democratic, Republic? Andrew Jackson s form and thought of democracy was very different from the
democracy the founding fathers originally wanted for our country. The founding fathers wanted a
country mostly ruled by Congress and they didn t want average Americans to have a role in
choosing... [the] president (Reinventing the Presidency). The founding fathers thought of the
presidential branch as being weak and only good for doing what Congress wanted. Andrew Jackson
the seventh president of the united states quickly showed the people how powerful his government
position was by enforcing his right to veto bills Congress passed. Over Jackson s presidential term, he
was a very different president than the founders originally wanted in office, and many people thought
of his presidency as being very democratic. Jackson s term as president may have seemed democratic,
but when you look deeper into his laws and policies you can realize how his term wasn t really that
democratic.
Andrew Jackson wrote a letter to Congress on July 10, 1832, saying the rich and powerful too often
bend the acts of government to their selfish purposes (Doc. F). Jackson is talking about the national
bank in this letter to Congress and it was very well known from his close friends that he had always
been afraid of banks... [and called bankers} vipers and thieves (Shi, Tindall, 324). He thought that the
national bank caused the government to have too much control over the people, but the way

Do Violent Video Games Cause Violent Behavior Essay
Do violent video games cause behavioral problems? For years this topic has been highly debated
amongst parents and the players. Violent video games do cause behavioral problems because they alter
a gamers mind.
Risk factors are a major part of behavioral problems. A risk factor of behavior problems are behaviors
that are harmful, disruptive, and impulsive. A majority of researchers say that it is unlikely that
playing violent video games will cause a child with no other risk factors to turn into an extremely
violent person(Lee). This being said, violent video games are a common risk factor among adolescents
(Cooper). Personal background, peers, neighborhoods, and genetics are other common risk factors.
Combined, these risk factors can cause violent behavior to occur (Calvert).
Continually being exposed to violent acts will eventually lead to violent behavior. Exposure to
violence will cause some form of violence to develop over time. Unnecessary violence, such as video
games, are causing problems that would otherwise not be an issue. For example, in one study, 161
nine through twelve year old s and 344 college students were randomly assigned to play either a
violent or nonviolent video game throughout a specific amount of time. The participants played a
game against the computer in which they set punishments levels for their opponents. Those who
played the violent games appeared to have harsher punishments than those who played nonviolent
games (Cooper).
Children often imitate the actions of characters from games they play and find it difficult to separate
reality from fantasy. Kids are changing the way they think. Says Dr. Gentile. He explains that long
term exposure to this media can potentially lead to changes in both thinking and behavior. Generally
speaking, when children play these games they really enter into the spirit of things. In many of these
games, one must play as a specific character throughout the game. From beginning to end, the player
is required to make decisions as if he/she was actually that character, facing new challenges and
completing quests with every new section of the game. These games require the player to be an active
participant, allowing them to decide the destiny of their

Inflation and the Economy WHY UNDER MONETARY FREEDOM INFLATION COULD BE

1. Unemployment and inflation do coexist and inflation causes much unemployment which would

2. Excessively inflated prices would fall to market prices and so promote sales and employment.
3. Less government spending would mean more private spending. 4. Prices and wages could be

3. Deflationary withdrawal of notes from circulation while free banking remains suppressed.
4. Replacing the old currency at an arbitrary rate, not the free market rate, and most likely supplying
not enough new currency because under monetary despotism there is no yardstick like the free market
rate for currencies.
5. Continuing monetary despotism with all its uncertainties and the expectation of further inflation.
6. Tax increases and their stricter collection with their deflationary effects. 7. Delays in spending of
tax collected funds after the official currency
reform .
8. Issuance of a new reformed currency in quotas only.
9. Insistence on gold payments or gold redemption regardless of the availability of gold and existing
or possible alternative private contractual arrangements, i.e.: part redemption (revival J.Z., 1999) of
monetary despotism in the form of an exclusive gold standard.
10.Issuance of the new currency only to the extent that foreign loans are available as backing .

deserved as well as what she deserved. In The Awakening Robert and Mademoiselle Reisz are the first
people who truly extract Edna s sexuality and independence. Rather than socialize with all the men in
the Creole Society Robert chooses to spend his time with Mrs. Pontillier and Madame Ratignolle.
Many people, including Madame Ratignolle, could see the sensual tension between Robert and Edna.
Do me a favor, Robert... I only ask for one; let Mrs. Pontillier alone. (pg. 35) Although Robert leaves
Grand Isle in order to save Mrs. Pontillier he is a predominate factor in why she openly begins to
abandon the Creole Society. Robert is the first character in the story to accept and appreciate Edna s
free spirit and open mind. He helps teach her how to swim and shows the affection and support that
she has been looking for. Robert is able to extract Edna s rebellious because she falls in love with him.
This is seen when in Mademoiselle Reisz and Edna s conversation. Why do you love him when

Horatio s Use Of Justice In Hamlet
In Hamlet, a play by William Shakespeare, the protagonist Hamlet seeks to avenge his father s death.
The ghost of his father appears and tells Hamlet that Claudius murdered him. Claudius poisons his
brother so that he can take the throne. Hamlet responds to the injustice of his father s murder with his
brand of justice, revenge. Hamlet s understanding of justice is tit for tat. Claudius murders Hamlet s
father so Hamlet plans to kill him. His form of justice is single minded revenge. He uses and
manipulates others as his pawns to forward his goal. He drives Ophelia into madness by his
manipulation of her and killing her father. Poor Ophelia divided from herself and her fair judgment
(IV, v, 80 81). Hamlet takes the burden into his own hands and willingly sacrifices everything, even
his own sanity to attain justice for his deceased father. What if it tempt you...which might deprive your
sovereignty of reason and draw you into madness? (I, IV, 69 73 74). Hamlet does not heed Horatio s

The main source of conflict is Claudius versus Hamlet. A little more than kin, and less than kind! (I, II,

madness hath Polonius slain (IV, I, 33 34). The King says this to Rosencrantz and Guildenstern who
obey him unfailingly. Hamlet is manipulating the other characters into thinking he s mad but he s
actually falling into madness. Polonius was spying on Hamlet when he kills him. All of this occurs
because of Hamlet s need to take revenge on Claudius for his father. Hamlet s search for justice brings

Rocky Horror Show Analysis
The Rocky Horror Show began as more of a hobby than anything else; it was just something that
creator Richard O Brien concocted as a side project while he was going through a transitional period
between acting jobs O Brien was born in England in 1942, but was raised primarily in New Zealand,
where he dropped out of school at the age of fifteen and developed an affinity for the B horror films
and the science fiction features of the time, which was his first glimpse into the world of theatre, and
he was drawn in immediately. O Brien struggled for a long time trying to find work, working as a
stuntman on films such as Carry On, Cowboy and Casino Royale. His first breakthrough, however,
came when he was given a small part in a production of Jesus Christ Superstar. Though his
performance was miserable, his true highlight was when he met with the director of Superstar, Jim
Sharman. He presented to Sharman his early draft of Rocky Horror, a rock inspired musical theatre
production titled They Came from Denton High. Sharman agreed to ... Show more content on

After the film s release, it ascended to a whole new level of success, and thanks to its continued stage
productions and midnight viewings of the movies in theaters across the United States, it developed a
large cult fan base. The triumph of Rocky Horror even persists into the following decades, namely
when on October 18th, 1990, the City of Los Angeles, California announced that October 18th would

The Tempest Imperialism
The play, The Tempest by William Shakespeare, follows the journey of the magical Prospero and his
search for revenge on those who had victimized him. Stranded on an island for twelve years with his
daughter Miranda and servants Caliban and Ariel, Prospero shipwrecks the men who put him there by
conjuring up a terrible and violent storm from which the play gets its name. Prospero watches over the
shipwrecked group who were responsible for betraying him, including his brother Antonio, who stole
his position of Duke of Milan. The Tempest, written between 1610 and 1611 in the midst of European
expansion and colonization of the Americas, is symbolic of the negative repercussions associated with
imperialism. William Shakespeare s The Tempest draws an allusion to the age of exploration and
critiques the effects of colonial expansion through the main characters, including Prospero and
Caliban. The Tempest offers insight into the effects colonial expansion has on both parties because of
the symbolic representation of the main characters and their connection to the idea of colonial
expansion as well as a setting that is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Not only is Caliban himself a symbol of the mistreatment of Native Americans but his name is
connected to the stereotype that all native tribes practiced cannibalism. The Tempest may be
considered a colonial text because of this and also it raises the question of the occupation of new lands
and the cruel mistreatment of the natives there while critiquing colonial projects such as Jamestown
that were so widely supported by English colonists (Pettigrew). Ultimately the divide between the
relationships of Prospero and Caliban is similar to the divide experienced by colonists and Native
Americans during the 17th century. Much of this has to do with the location and the appeal it has by

Development Of The Mammary Gland
Introduction 1. Normal mammary gland 1.1 normal mammary gland anatomies The normal breast sits
on the chest muscle, consisting mainly of adipose tissue, also known as mammary fat pad. The mature
mammary gland is composed of 15 20 lobes, which are each composed of smaller structure called
lobules. Tiny Lactiferous ducts connect lobules to each other. (Fig. 1b) (Schneider and Bocker). A
typical structure of duct is composed of a hollow lumen, enclosed by a layer of epithelial luminal cells
that produce milk (Fig 1c). Outside of epithelial luminal cells is a layer of myoepithelial cell and
basement membrane (Visvader). Maintain the correct morphology of duct requires extracellular matrix
which together with fibroblasts, endothelial cells, macrophages, and adipocytes, constitute mammary
stroma. Fat fills the spaces between the lobules and ducts. 1.2 Mammary gland development
Development of the mammary gland starts during embryogenesis but takes several years to complete;
indeed, they are still primitive structures that are not yet connected to the nipple, therefore are not
functional at birth (Anderson and Clarke). Until puberty, breasts grow extremely slow in size.
However, at puberty, they undergo their first spurt of allometric growth and formation of the milk
producing lobules. The lobules extend into the mammary fat pad, and glands become more complex.
During each menstrual cycle, ovarian hormones induce mammary development and new budding of
structures up until the age of

Mormon Beliefs Of The Mormons
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints also known as the Mormons was formally organized
in a small log cabin in upstate New York in 1830 (Worldwide Statistics, 2017). By 1947, the initial six
member church had grown to one million members. Today, current church members are over fifteen
million.
One of the Mormons religious belief is missionary work. The Mormons missionary work is based on
the New Testament. They serve in pairs and teach the gospel and try to attract believers to the name of
Jesus Christ. Mormon Missionaries love what they do and love to share the message of God and His
plan and the divine mission of Jesus Christ. Mormon missionaries can be seen throughout the streets
across the world spreading the word and their faith. Companionships are usually either both males or
both females, never one of each. Companionships are established to look out for one another as most
missionaries live far from home (10 Things to Know, 2017).
According to Mormonism 101 (2017), The fundamental principles of our religion are ... concerning
Jesus Christ that He died was buried, and rose again the third day, and ascended into heaven; all other
things which pertain to our religion are only appendages to it. Some other beliefs of the Mormons, are
that Jesus Christ is the Savior of the world, Christ allows us to be saved from our sins and the original
Church as read in the New Testament has been restored. To further go into detail of these three, the

Ungrateful father Being a father can be hard, and just like in Tiny, Smiling Daddy written by Mary,

what a father put his daughter through can be stressful, and especially because his daughter is gay. The
troubled, loathsome character of Tiny, Smiling Daddy is revealed through third person omniscient

table after being asked four times, Kitty has gone to her friends after school instead of coming straight
home, and Kitty has worn a dress to school that was short enough to show off her pantyhose (457).
This all added to how much Stew would loath his daughter for being a lesbian and now never listened.
Stew s loathing for his daughter was strong enough to the point where he punched Kitty and knocked
her down, because his wife threw stuff out that belonged to Kitty (458). The narrator says, then he
would remember that she was a lesbian, and a morass of complication and wrongness would come
down between them, making it impossible for him to see her (458). It always came back to his
daughter being a lesbian that forced him to loath Kitty more. Everything the Narrator is telling the

Importance of Free Speech
College is a time when most individuals are experiencing major changes and begin to explore new
perspectives. The transition in becoming more independent, creating new insights and peer influence
are key factors in changing the perspective of an individual. Students are faced with new ideas from
their professors, family and fellow peers. Through that acquired knowledge many students decide that
they either agree or disagree with the perspectives that they are taught. Allowing the right of Free

Despite their opinions, free speech was a great way in this situation for students to rally together and
publically inform the rest of campus of their beliefs. In the school newspaper, The Daily Emerald, CJ
Ciaramelle wrote About 300 students from across the campus community student unions, Greek Life,
the ASUO, the Survival Center, the Women s Center showed up at the meeting to protest the Forum
(1). Although the majority of people protested against the forum the right to free speech, it is
important because it allows students to make decisions on their own and invite students to do the
same.
Free speech often has negative connotations because the negative outcomes are publicized more than
the positive outcomes. Free Speech is a time for individuals to express their beliefs and topic on an
important issue. People chose to present themselves in a vast majority of ways such as, holding signs,
making t shirts, shouting, etc. People who chose to present themselves in disrupting ways such as, foul
language, inappropriate attire are more likely to be noticed than another student that is holding a
simple and respectful sign. Schmidt states, Universities cannot censor or suppress speech, no matter
how obnoxious in content, without violating their justification of existence (2). There is no definition
of what type of free speech should be censored and not allowed. With that said, there should not be a

Japanese Imperialism
Imperialism is the policy of extending the rule or authority of an empire or nation over foreign
countries, or of acquiring and holding colonies and dependencies. (macquarie, 2017)Japan incurred
incredible changes to many aspect of its society following the use of imperialistic forces used to open
its borders by the Americas in 1868 this is commonly known as the Meiji restoration or Meiji period.
The Americas changed many things but the most provenant was the Japanese government, Its Military
and the Education systems/ schools.
A great deal of traditional systems where changed during the Meiji restoration but the most important
was the Education and schools. The Tokugawa education cons tied of several main types of schools
such as the hank, terakoya, shoheiko and shijku. The hank mainly Educated the upper class society

At the end of the movie, the audience realizes everything happens for a reason in his life, no matter
how hard the journey is. One of the major cultural oppositions in the movie is high context. High
context basically means that they don t put high value on being direct. When someone is speaking the
person listening will more than likely have to interpret it. It is found to be rude if you speak too
straightforwardly. This could be problematic, and that s very apparent in this movie. The main
character and his wife has a seemingly good relationship on the outside, but his girlfriend, Mika,

Globalisation in Russia
Globalisation in Russia : the challenge of the transition to the world economy
Fifteen years ago, the Soviet Union was a socialist authoritative country, tightly isolated from
capitalist countries. Nowadays, its direct heir, Russia, is one of the most quickly growing markets of
the world, strongly open on the global economy.
During the 1990s, Russia underwent an extraordinary transformation from a communist dictatorship to
a multi party democracy, from a centrally planned system to a market economy, and from a belligerent
enemy of the West to a cooperative partner. This change was as unexpected as exceptional: two
decades ago, only an idealist would have imagined the evil empire to transform so quickly and
peacefully into a democratic ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The term of transition reveals by itself the prevailing frame of mind at the beginning of the 1990
decade. The concept of transition intends the passing from a situation –a singular balance– to
another. It is an intermediate situation, a transitory state. There would be thus one market economy,
only one model which it would be possible to reach quickly.
The Russian experiment of the 90ies shows that while wanting to go from a point A (Soviet economy)
to a point B (an idealized market economy), Russia reached another balance, a point C (a degraded
market economy). For all these reasons it is preferable to speak about a process of transformation
rather than about transition.
It seems important, at this stage, to take an interest in the concept of market economy. The market is a
central concept in economy, but its definition is seldom explicit. It is at the same time a physical place
where are carried out the exchanges, a whole of outlets related to a product and the abstract place of
the meeting between supply and demand. For certain authors like Ludwig von Meises, the market
economy corresponds to capitalism and can be thus defined as the exact opposite of socialist
economies.
Actually, the economies of the Soviet block had, to differing degrees, market components. As a result,
it seems more judicious to define the market economy as an economy whose activity is organized

Rejecting the Myth of Colorblindness in Education
Colorblindness is a defect in the perception of colors, caused by a deficiency in specialized cells in the
retina that are sensitive to different colors. The term is often used today during political discourse,
often by members of some factions of liberalism, when claiming that one s race should be irrelevant to
any decision making process. It is a form of moral posturing; that one should see an individual as
simply an individual, but not as part of any larger group or culture. As if this philosophy will enable us
to bridge any gaps between races, this thought attempts to focus on how we are all the same, rather
than how we differ. Teachers and administrators are required to complete coursework pertaining to
multicultural education ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Furthermore, Christina Judith Hein, in Color Blindness vs. Race Matters claims that a common goal
cannot be that every individual is treated the same, regardless of their race, gender, or age, but rather,
these differences require different responses within the social framework with certain norms and
values. Reactions to an individual must be specific to that individual s needs. In the collateral
collectivist cultures (African American, Hispanic and Asian), emphasis is placed on the family, above
all else. This means that in these cultures, even education is second to the needs of a family. When
teaching children from these cultures, it is important not be ethnocentric, but rather understand the
structure of their cultures. As teachers, we cannot be colorblind; for it is a disservice to those we teach.
Hatred, abuse, social injustice, and general dislike of an individual or group will never be controlled or
extinguished through any means of education or political mandate. These terrible practices are part of
the human frailty of life, and can be found among every ethnicity and culture. While it should never be
condoned, it cannot be eradicated. In The Multicultural Cult, Thomas Sowell argues that cultural
differences matter and always have. He claims that the multicultural cult is one that believes it can
improve the education and economic status of a group simply by immersing them in another s culture.
Trying to equate colorblindness with

The Revolt And The Sepoy Rebellion
Throughout the year s many historians have compilated and examined why Indian people were so
desperate to gain back their independence from the British Empire during their rule over India, from
1612 to 1947. The reasoning can most definitely be found as the British discriminated against Indian
people as they believe that they were inferior; it is no surprise that Indian people fought so hard for
their independence. Throughout the British Raj, they placed and put forward unbelievably racist acts
and laws which discriminated against Indian people. Which of course led to Indian s rebelling against
the British rule and thus many massacres and rebellions occurred during their ruling. Thus, answering

Herbert Asquith, the Liberal Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, clearly believed that the massacre
was catastrophic and sinful, there has never been such an incident in the whole annals of Anglo Indian
history nor, I believe, in the history of our Empire from its very inception down to the present day ... It
is one of the worst outrages in the whole of our history (AP reference). Though all Dyer could say in
his defence was my duty... my horrible, dirty duty. (AP REFERENCE). Some say, with fair reasoning,
that this massacre was the turning point for modern India, some even saying that this was the prelude
to Gandhi s commitment to his cause (Pletcher, n.d.).
The cause of the Sepoy Rebellion, the first serious rebellion the British faced, can be traced back to
the unfair mistreatment of Indian soldiers in the British India Army, as the British greased the Lee
Enfield rifle with animal fat which was highly offensive to their religious beliefs. As well as this, the
wealth annexation in 1856 of Oudh (Heitzman Worden, n.d.). The rebel soldiers marched to the Delhi

The Hours Theme
Michael Cunningham s The Hours tells the story of three women, each from different eras of society,
yet connected through the internal conflicts which they face. Laura Brown, one of the novel s three
protagonists, lives the white middle class American dream. However, throughout the novel her mental
health begins to deteriorate due to the oppressive lifestyle which she feels society has forced upon her.
The Virginia Woolf portrayed by Cunningham, was in fact historically accurate to the original Virginia

traditional women s roles. Unlike Laura Brown and Virginia Woolf, Clarissa Vaughn enjoys all of the
freedoms which the late twentieth century allows, but is still left questioning if her life of a

Child Physical Abuse And Juvenile Delinquency
Child Physical Abuse and Juvenile Delinquency
Introduction
According to the National Bureau of Economic Research, child abuse and maltreatment roughly
doubles the probability that an individual engages in many types of crime (Picker, 2014). More
specifically, it is noted that those who experience physical abuse as a child are 30% more likely than
their counterparts to commit violent crimes as a juvenile (Wisdom and Maxfield, 2001). Physical
abuse of a child may include but is not limited to injuries that result from kicking, punching, biting,
beating, or hitting a child that are non accidental, As defined by St. Luke s Cornwall Hospital. It is
believed that because of such treatment the child is inclined to portray the same aggressive behavior in
their juvenile years, which creates a cycle of violence (Wisdom and Maxfield, 2001). This leads to my
research question: Are juveniles who experience physical abuse in their childhood more likely to
commit violent crimes?
The term juvenile in this case can be described as an individual who is at least 18 years of age or
younger. I hypothesize that juveniles who have experienced physical abuse as a child are more likely
to commit violent crimes. My null hypothesis is that being physically abused and the type of crime
one commits have no relation. This is a perfect example of Travis Hirschi s Social Control Theory,
which states when an individual has experienced a lack of social connections or a lack of social

Since we at Whoosh hope to have the business of every high school athletic program in the Houston

projects, our designers will have to work independently in order to complete them all in a timely
fashion, but that will not be successful if our employees do not know how to be optimistic about the
work load or cannot self manage efficiently. There are also instances that will cause our employees to
collaborate with one another, however, if they cannot work well in teams or take constructive
criticism, the ending product may not be to our consumers liking. Like the sports that we provide

Mr Smith Goes To Washington Essay
Frank Capra s movie Mr. Smith Goes to Washington did an excellent job of describing the politician s
secrets and underlying motives that truly relate to real life politics. It serves the troubling honesty that
our civilization has been developed to operate in diplomacies. It honestly describes an amicable
concept about the Senate while also shining light on the less pleasant aspects of politics. The film at
the time of its release and to current day has an effect on its audience, and would ve been thought to
go against the grain at the time of its release; however, it is not rebellious, the film is motivated by an
influential disgust towards an ill treatment of authority in government. The movie Mr. Smith Goes to
Washington modestly has a truly ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Mr. Smith had been so oblivious to the conniving agenda that his fellow senators had and how they
were simply interested in their personal profit, which is where the Willow Creek Dam came into play.
Because of Sam Foley s death and the vacancy in the Senate, Jefferson Smith s sole purpose of being
appointed as a senator was to be a puppet of Jim Taylor and Paine, represent the general population of
his state because he was well liked, and not make inquiries about things he didn t know. Smith was so
naïve that he didn t even know about Taylors political machine when he was beginning to introduce
his Boy s Camp, and he particularly didn t know about it being on the same land that Taylor s team
would create the Willet Creek. By the time that his reputation started to smear and he began being
painted as a criminal to rob children, he could not understand why. Taylor s press and Paine did a good
job at making him appear with a vindictive character and blaming him. The men even said, He owns
the land, purchased it, and is using his position in office for his own

Confucianism Bring Harmony In Society
According to The Analects, Confucianism brings harmony by not doing things to others that you
wouldn t want done to yourself. Confucianists follow Ren and Li. Ren (humility) is when one is kind,
benevolent, and has humaneness towards others. Li is the rituals, rites, etiquette and propriety which
lead to peace and harmony. Ren brings harmony by someone giving love and being equal. I believe
that ren really does bring harmony into a society because when someone has a lot of pride, it ruins a
lot for them, people don t really look at them as a humble person. Humility actually makes you be a
better person because you accept when you make errors and not making yourself look as a very
important person (this doesn t mean someone feels worthless or bad about themselves). Whereas, Li
brings harmony by knowing and accepting where you stand in society. The best example I could think
of is respect. You have to respect whom is above you. For example it is my obligation to respect my
older sisters because I m younger than them. In class, I was told that if everyone does the proper thing,
society will function well and will lead to peace and harmony. Whereas, Taoism brings harmony by
accepting things the way they are. The concepts of Yin and Yang bring harmony to Taoists. Yin and
yang represent the fluidity of the universe. Yin meaning dark, passive, female and yang meaning light,
active, male. None of them are bad or evil, they are just different. They are complementary not

Donald Trump s View On Immigration
President elect Donald Trump launched his presidential bid discussing immigration reform. Strict
immigration policies quickly became the forefront of his campaign and he says it will also be the
focus of his first 100 days in office. A look at the evolution of Trump s immigration plan reveals
simply a feeble attempt to appear more presidential and diplomatic rather than an actual evolution of
thought or even an attempt to be realistic.
When Mexico sends its people, they re not sending their best. ... They re sending people that have lots
of problems, and they re bringing those problems with us. They re bringing drugs. They re bringing
crime. They re rapists. And some, I assume, are good people, Trump said in his announcement speech
in June ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Crimes committed by illegal immigrants are significantly less than the figures he has presented and
serve only to instill fear in Americans and legitimize the ignorance of his attacks.
Trump continues to embolden rather than chastise his base by demonizing immigrants and refugees.
His exaggeration of these numbers and persistence in using them even after they have been proven
false is a tactic to mobilize support for strict immigration by instilling fear in Americans and saying
that they are bad people and that they are the enemy. His election led to cheers of build the wall at his
____ and reports of immigrants and Americans of foreign descent being told to go home soared.
As the media and the nation continue the process of normalizing the inevitable Donald Trump
presidency and its policies, his dangerous rhetoric cannot be ignored. While he is historically
unqualified and unlike any United States president in recent history, there must be a level of
accountability for the words of an American

Zagat Survey Case Study Part III
Case Study III: Inferential Statistics
This part of the case study will explore the application of inferential statistics to the Zagat Survey
sample data. In Part II, claims were made that attempted to extrapolate the sample data to the
population, but they were statistically invalid. So here in Part III, I will properly project the sample
data into the population and compare it to the previous methods. Earlier in the study, the univariate
estimate used was simply the mean value of the sample taken for the variable Cost. But this does not
account for the presence of variation in a sample that could affect the mean. We can use this value
within a standard normal distribution of sample means to try and narrow down the true ... Show more

Both of these values, along with the test statistic, are provided in the Excel regression output. An
online F value calculator1 produced a Critical F Value of 2.704. As outlined in Appendix C, we reject
the null hypothesis and conclude that the regression is in fact useful. Using the same null and
alternative hypotheses, the same test can be performed for the regression between Décor and Cost. In
this case, we reject the null hypothesis and confirm the alternative, which states that Décor (being the
only independent variable) does in fact affect the Cost. So there is a direct relationship between the
Décor and Cost. The multiple regression model does a good bob of predicting the Cost. As seen in
Part II of the case study, the regression produced a relatively high Adjusted R Square value of .76406,
which means that about 76% of the variation in Cost can be explained by the other variables
(Appendix D). We can also see from this output that each variable is given a t Stat value. All of these
values are higher than the Critical T Value (from T distribution table) for 99 degrees of freedom all the
way up to the significance level of 1% (t = 2.364). And, as shown before, the F Value hypothesis
testing for the regression as a whole proved that the regression was in fact useful. So all of these
claims when used in concert provide strong evidence that this model has a high predictive value. The
best estimation for Cost is going to be the

History of the Ryder Cup Essay
History of the Ryder Cup The Ryder Cup is the most famous team golf event in the world. The Ryder
Cup is played for biannually between the USA and the European team. The tournament was founded
in 1927 by Samuel Ryder and has continued to the present day. The competition was originally held
between the USA and the British teams, but then in 1973 the rules changed to allow the British team
to field Irish golfers. The competition finally extended in 1979 to allow all European golfers to play
for the new European team. The competition has been contested once every two years since 1927
except during WWII. Since 1979, the tournament has ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In 1927, the Ryder Cup was valued at 250 GBP. Today it is valued at $13,900. The Ryder Cup is 17
inches tall and weighs just over four pounds. The golfer depicted on top of the trophy is Abe Mitchell,
friend and private instructor of Ryder. Rules, Format and Terminology The Ryder Cup is played by the
Rules of Golf determined by the USGA and applied by the PGA of America. Several types of
matchplay are used during the Ryder Cup , including foursomes (two man teams taking alternate
shots), fourball (betterball) and singles (18 holes at matchplay). The order of play during the first two
days of the competition (foursomes or fourballs) is determined through mutual agreement of both
teams captains. There are a total of 28 matches . Matchplay Guidelines Matchplay is a game played by
holes. A hole is won by the team which holes its ball in the fewer strokes. Score is kept by the number
of holes up (won) and the number of holes remaining. (Example: US is 2 up with 6 holes to play).
When a team is up (winning) by more holes than there are holes left to play the match is closed out
and a point is awarded to the winning team. One point is awarded for each point won. If a match is
tied or halved through 18 holes of play, each team receives 1/2 a point. A total of 28 points are

Learning music was not a challenge for me, especially since I grew up in musically gifted families.
Honestly math came easy for me, mostly because I was taught to keep up with the tempo of the music.
Thankfully playing in the band came naturally for me and I liked the challenge in trying to learn an
instrument. My school performed at a couple of competitions and a few concerts as well. I continued
playing until my sophomore year in high school, I lost interest in high school; it seemed like it was
more of a chore rather something to enjoy and the students made it difficult for me to perform so, I
forced myself to leave. Before I quit the band in my sophomore year I joined the culinary arts club and
the art society. I always loved making food, I started cooking around 6 to 7 years old under
supervision of course. Slowly my parents had me help out in the kitchen, then they let me practice
making baked goods and later, they started to let cook by myself. I watched cooking shows too, and I
would just read the cooking books for hours just to know if we had the ingredients

Disadvantages Of Low Quality
Everyone has had experiences of low quality when overseeing business affiliations. These experiences
may incorporate a bearer that has lost an explorer s stuff, clothing that has left articles of clothing
wrinkled or recolor, poor course offerings and arranging at your school, a got thing that is hurt or
broken, or a pizza movement advantage that is much of the time late or passes on the wrong demand.
The experience of low quality is exacerbated when specialists of the association either are not
empowered to right quality lacks or don t give off an impression of being willing to do in that
capacity. We have all accomplished organization specialists who don t seem to give a qualm. The
aftereffects of such an air are lost customers and open entryways for contenders to misuse the business
need. Successful associations understand the competent impact customer described quality can have
on business. In this manner various centered firms unendingly grow their quality benchmarks. Taking
the illustration, both the Ford Motor Company and the Honda Motor Company have starting late
reported that they are making customer dedication their number one need. The moderate economy of
2003 influenced arrangements in the auto business. Both firms assume that the best way to deal with

Introduction
Matter is described as any object that holds mass and volume. Mass is the amount of matter in an
object that is usually explained in the unit of kilograms. Volume is defined as the amount of space that
matter takes up usually described by the unit liters. While mass and volume relate to matter, it also
relates to density. Density is the amount of mass per unit volume. Common units for density include
grams per milliliter for liquids, grams per centimeter for solids, and grams per liter for gases.
The purpose of this lab is to explore the ways of calculating density through ... Show more content on

Volume for the Known Rock: 9.5 cm * 1.9 cm * 4.625 cm = 83.48125 cm cubed
Volume for the Unknown Rock: 4.85 cm * 1.925 cm * 4.85 cm = 45.2808 cm cubed
Density can be calculated by dividing the mass by the volume.
Density (mass/ volume) of the Known Rock: 216.175 g / 83.48125 cm cubed = 2.59 grams per
centimeters cubed
Density (mass/ volume) of the Unknown Rock: 114.59 g/ 45.2808 cm cubed=
2.53 grams per centimeter cubed
Results
Each member of the group reported similar measurements. Most of the numbers featured were similar.
The calculation of density used by the measured mass, length, width, and height by the students, was
relatively close to the real density of the known rock. The results were both accurate and precise.

  • 6. Essential Concepts About Commercial Banks And The... In current intensely competitive economic market, banking plays an extremely significant role because it not only enhances economic development, but also provides valuable services to the whole country (Cv, 2015). Banks accept deposits from savers and lend these deposits to those who need them by generating financial products such as mortgages and loans. Based on Boatright s perspective, even though banks are different in size and nature owing to both historical and geographical factors, they can be broadly defined as financial institutions that perform as a bridge connecting savers and borrowers throughout providing valuable financial products and services (Boatright, 2010). The object of this paper is to briefly explain some essential concepts about commercial banks and the corresponding ethical issues derived from these concepts. There are various types of banks depending on the area they specialize in, including central banks, commercial banks, investing banks, and retail banks and so on (Boatright, 2010). They are at the age where they are learning self control and starting to recognize the needs of others (Ashford LeCroy, 2013). How do delays in development impact these desires? For my developmental and biopsychosocial assessment I interviewed a 5 year old boy who I will refer to as John. He was recently diagnosed with developmental delays, and currently receives speech and physical therapy services. This paper will explore his assessment using the Ages and Stages Questionnaire (ASQ), as well as how John s age and environment impacts his development. Age Assessment Communication During the assessment John s mother reported that his speech had improved significantly after seeing a speech therapist for the past year and a half. She also shared that John was not speaking at all up until February of 2016, and now he uses one or two word phrases. I saw this during my time with John, where he was unable to form complete sentences. Instead of saying I want a drink he would point to his cup and whimper. Mom encouraged him to use his words, which resulted in him saying, drink. John also struggled with following multistep directions that were unrelated to each other. In these, Bridge and Fedorowich argue that settlers had full civil rights in a pluralistic polity, and while whiteness was a dominant characteristic in the Dominions it was not a necessity, and therefore non white people could be accepted into the British world and adopt a British identity. They assert that this system was in theory, and largely in practice, class and colour blind, allowing non white, non British, and non Christians to assume important roles in the administration, such as Governor General Sir Isaac Isaacs, who was Jewish. The authors reject the idea that colonial national identities were contradictory to imperial British identity, as non British were able to adopt British values and institutions as their own. Bridge and Fedorowich argue that the migrants to the Dominions helped to create a new, broader British identity and culture which flowed between the Dominions and Britain, with many of the political and administrative models pioneered in the Dominions, such as the secret ballot in Australia, being adopted in Britain. • 16. Do Violent Video Games Cause Violent Behavior Essay Do violent video games cause behavioral problems? For years this topic has been highly debated amongst parents and the players. Violent video games do cause behavioral problems because they alter a gamers mind. Risk factors are a major part of behavioral problems. A risk factor of behavior problems are behaviors that are harmful, disruptive, and impulsive. A majority of researchers say that it is unlikely that playing violent video games will cause a child with no other risk factors to turn into an extremely violent person(Lee). This being said, violent video games are a common risk factor among adolescents (Cooper). Personal background, peers, neighborhoods, and genetics are other common risk factors. Combined, these risk factors can cause violent behavior to occur (Calvert). Continually being exposed to violent acts will eventually lead to violent behavior. Exposure to violence will cause some form of violence to develop over time. Unnecessary violence, such as video games, are causing problems that would otherwise not be an issue. For example, in one study, 161 nine through twelve year old s and 344 college students were randomly assigned to play either a violent or nonviolent video game throughout a specific amount of time. The participants played a game against the computer in which they set punishments levels for their opponents. Those who played the violent games appeared to have harsher punishments than those who played nonviolent games (Cooper). Children often imitate the actions of characters from games they play and find it difficult to separate reality from fantasy. Kids are changing the way they think. Says Dr. Gentile. He explains that long term exposure to this media can potentially lead to changes in both thinking and behavior. Generally speaking, when children play these games they really enter into the spirit of things. In many of these games, one must play as a specific character throughout the game. Rocky Horror Show Analysis The Rocky Horror Show began as more of a hobby than anything else; it was just something that creator Richard O Brien concocted as a side project while he was going through a transitional period between acting jobs O Brien was born in England in 1942, but was raised primarily in New Zealand, where he dropped out of school at the age of fifteen and developed an affinity for the B horror films and the science fiction features of the time, which was his first glimpse into the world of theatre, and he was drawn in immediately. O Brien struggled for a long time trying to find work, working as a stuntman on films such as Carry On, Cowboy and Casino Royale. His first breakthrough, however, came when he was given a small part in a production of Jesus Christ Superstar. • 25. The Tempest Imperialism The play, The Tempest by William Shakespeare, follows the journey of the magical Prospero and his search for revenge on those who had victimized him. Stranded on an island for twelve years with his daughter Miranda and servants Caliban and Ariel, Prospero shipwrecks the men who put him there by conjuring up a terrible and violent storm from which the play gets its name. Prospero watches over the shipwrecked group who were responsible for betraying him, including his brother Antonio, who stole his position of Duke of Milan. The Tempest, written between 1610 and 1611 in the midst of European expansion and colonization of the Americas, is symbolic of the negative repercussions associated with imperialism. William Shakespeare s The Tempest draws an allusion to the age of exploration and critiques the effects of colonial expansion through the main characters, including Prospero and Caliban. • 26. Development Of The Mammary Gland Introduction 1. Normal mammary gland 1.1 normal mammary gland anatomies The normal breast sits on the chest muscle, consisting mainly of adipose tissue, also known as mammary fat pad. The mature mammary gland is composed of 15 20 lobes, which are each composed of smaller structure called lobules. Tiny Lactiferous ducts connect lobules to each other. (Fig. 1b) (Schneider and Bocker). A typical structure of duct is composed of a hollow lumen, enclosed by a layer of epithelial luminal cells that produce milk (Fig 1c). Outside of epithelial luminal cells is a layer of myoepithelial cell and basement membrane (Visvader). Maintain the correct morphology of duct requires extracellular matrix which together with fibroblasts, endothelial cells, macrophages, and adipocytes, constitute mammary stroma. Fat fills the spaces between the lobules and ducts. 1.2 Mammary gland development Development of the mammary gland starts during embryogenesis but takes several years to complete; indeed, they are still primitive structures that are not yet connected to the nipple, therefore are not functional at birth (Anderson and Clarke). Until puberty, breasts grow extremely slow in size. However, at puberty, they undergo their first spurt of allometric growth and formation of the milk producing lobules. The lobules extend into the mammary fat pad, and glands become more complex. Globalisation in Russia Globalisation in Russia : the challenge of the transition to the world economy Fifteen years ago, the Soviet Union was a socialist authoritative country, tightly isolated from capitalist countries. Nowadays, its direct heir, Russia, is one of the most quickly growing markets of the world, strongly open on the global economy. During the 1990s, Russia underwent an extraordinary transformation from a communist dictatorship to a multi party democracy, from a centrally planned system to a market economy, and from a belligerent enemy of the West to a cooperative partner. This change was as unexpected as exceptional: two decades ago, only an idealist would have imagined the evil empire to transform so quickly and peacefully into a democratic ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The term of transition reveals by itself the prevailing frame of mind at the beginning of the 1990 decade. The concept of transition intends the passing from a situation –a singular balance– to another. It is an intermediate situation, a transitory state. There would be thus one market economy, only one model which it would be possible to reach quickly. The Russian experiment of the 90ies shows that while wanting to go from a point A (Soviet economy) to a point B (an idealized market economy), Russia reached another balance, a point C (a degraded market economy). For all these reasons it is preferable to speak about a process of transformation rather than about transition. It seems important, at this stage, to take an interest in the concept of market economy. The market is a central concept in economy, but its definition is seldom explicit. It is at the same time a physical place where are carried out the exchanges, a whole of outlets related to a product and the abstract place of the meeting between supply and demand. For certain authors like Ludwig von Meises, the market economy corresponds to capitalism and can be thus defined as the exact opposite of socialist economies. Actually, the economies of the Soviet block had, to differing degrees, market components. As a result, it seems more judicious to define the market economy as an economy whose activity is organized ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Rejecting the Myth of Colorblindness in Education Colorblindness is a defect in the perception of colors, caused by a deficiency in specialized cells in the retina that are sensitive to different colors. The term is often used today during political discourse, often by members of some factions of liberalism, when claiming that one s race should be irrelevant to any decision making process. It is a form of moral posturing; that one should see an individual as simply an individual, but not as part of any larger group or culture. As if this philosophy will enable us to bridge any gaps between races, this thought attempts to focus on how we are all the same, rather than how we differ. Furthermore, Christina Judith Hein, in Color Blindness vs. Race Matters claims that a common goal cannot be that every individual is treated the same, regardless of their race, gender, or age, but rather, these differences require different responses within the social framework with certain norms and values. Reactions to an individual must be specific to that individual s needs. In the collateral collectivist cultures (African American, Hispanic and Asian), emphasis is placed on the family, above all else. This means that in these cultures, even education is second to the needs of a family. When teaching children from these cultures, it is important not be ethnocentric, but rather understand the structure of their cultures. As teachers, we cannot be colorblind; for it is a disservice to those we teach. Hatred, abuse, social injustice, and general dislike of an individual or group will never be controlled or extinguished through any means of education or political mandate. These terrible practices are part of the human frailty of life, and can be found among every ethnicity and culture. While it should never be condoned, it cannot be eradicated. Child Physical Abuse And Juvenile Delinquency Child Physical Abuse and Juvenile Delinquency Introduction According to the National Bureau of Economic Research, child abuse and maltreatment roughly doubles the probability that an individual engages in many types of crime (Picker, 2014). More specifically, it is noted that those who experience physical abuse as a child are 30% more likely than their counterparts to commit violent crimes as a juvenile (Wisdom and Maxfield, 2001). Physical abuse of a child may include but is not limited to injuries that result from kicking, punching, biting, beating, or hitting a child that are non accidental, As defined by St. Luke s Cornwall Hospital. It is believed that because of such treatment the child is inclined to portray the same aggressive behavior in their juvenile years, which creates a cycle of violence (Wisdom and Maxfield, 2001). The term juvenile in this case can be described as an individual who is at least 18 years of age or younger. • 43. Confucianism Bring Harmony In Society According to The Analects, Confucianism brings harmony by not doing things to others that you wouldn t want done to yourself. Confucianists follow Ren and Li. Ren (humility) is when one is kind, benevolent, and has humaneness towards others. Li is the rituals, rites, etiquette and propriety which lead to peace and harmony. Ren brings harmony by someone giving love and being equal. I believe that ren really does bring harmony into a society because when someone has a lot of pride, it ruins a lot for them, people don t really look at them as a humble person. Humility actually makes you be a better person because you accept when you make errors and not making yourself look as a very important person (this doesn t mean someone feels worthless or bad about themselves). Whereas, Li brings harmony by knowing and accepting where you stand in society. The best example I could think of is respect. You have to respect whom is above you. For example it is my obligation to respect my older sisters because I m younger than them. In class, I was told that if everyone does the proper thing, society will function well and will lead to peace and harmony. Whereas, Taoism brings harmony by accepting things the way they are. The concepts of Yin and Yang bring harmony to Taoists. Yin and yang represent the fluidity of the universe. Yin meaning dark, passive, female and yang meaning light, active, male. None of them are bad or evil, they are just different. They are complementary not ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 44. Donald Trump s View On Immigration President elect Donald Trump launched his presidential bid discussing immigration reform. Strict immigration policies quickly became the forefront of his campaign and he says it will also be the focus of his first 100 days in office. A look at the evolution of Trump s immigration plan reveals simply a feeble attempt to appear more presidential and diplomatic rather than an actual evolution of thought or even an attempt to be realistic. When Mexico sends its people, they re not sending their best. ... They re sending people that have lots of problems, and they re bringing those problems with us. They re bringing drugs. They re bringing crime. They re rapists. And some, I assume, are good people, Trump said in his announcement speech in June ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Crimes committed by illegal immigrants are significantly less than the figures he has presented and serve only to instill fear in Americans and legitimize the ignorance of his attacks. Trump continues to embolden rather than chastise his base by demonizing immigrants and refugees. His exaggeration of these numbers and persistence in using them even after they have been proven false is a tactic to mobilize support for strict immigration by instilling fear in Americans and saying that they are bad people and that they are the enemy. His election led to cheers of build the wall at his ____ and reports of immigrants and Americans of foreign descent being told to go home soared. As the media and the nation continue the process of normalizing the inevitable Donald Trump presidency and its policies, his dangerous rhetoric cannot be ignored. While he is historically unqualified and unlike any United States president in recent history, there must be a level of accountability for the words of an American ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 45. Zagat Survey Case Study Part III Case Study III: Inferential Statistics This part of the case study will explore the application of inferential statistics to the Zagat Survey sample data. In Part II, claims were made that attempted to extrapolate the sample data to the population, but they were statistically invalid. So here in Part III, I will properly project the sample data into the population and compare it to the previous methods. Earlier in the study, the univariate estimate used was simply the mean value of the sample taken for the variable Cost. But this does not account for the presence of variation in a sample that could affect the mean. We can use this value within a standard normal distribution of sample means to try and narrow down the true ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Both of these values, along with the test statistic, are provided in the Excel regression output. An online F value calculator1 produced a Critical F Value of 2.704. As outlined in Appendix C, we reject the null hypothesis and conclude that the regression is in fact useful. Using the same null and alternative hypotheses, the same test can be performed for the regression between Décor and Cost. In this case, we reject the null hypothesis and confirm the alternative, which states that Décor (being the only independent variable) does in fact affect the Cost. So there is a direct relationship between the Décor and Cost. The multiple regression model does a good bob of predicting the Cost. As seen in Part II of the case study, the regression produced a relatively high Adjusted R Square value of .76406, which means that about 76% of the variation in Cost can be explained by the other variables (Appendix D). We can also see from this output that each variable is given a t Stat value. All of these values are higher than the Critical T Value (from T distribution table) for 99 degrees of freedom all the way up to the significance level of 1% (t = 2.364). And, as shown before, the F Value hypothesis testing for the regression as a whole proved that the regression was in fact useful. So all of these claims when used in concert provide strong evidence that this model has a high predictive value. The best estimation for Cost is going to be the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Rules, Format and Terminology The Ryder Cup is played by the Rules of Golf determined by the USGA and applied by the PGA of America. Several types of matchplay are used during the Ryder Cup , including foursomes (two man teams taking alternate shots), fourball (betterball) and singles (18 holes at matchplay). The order of play during the first two days of the competition (foursomes or fourballs) is determined through mutual agreement of both teams captains. There are a total of 28 matches . Matchplay Guidelines Matchplay is a game played by holes. A hole is won by the team which holes its ball in the fewer strokes. Score is kept by the number of holes up (won) and the number of holes remaining. (Example: US is 2 up with 6 holes to play). When a team is up (winning) by more holes than there are holes left to play the match is closed out and a point is awarded to the winning team. One point is awarded for each point won. If a match is tied or halved through 18 holes of play, each team receives 1/2 a point. A total of 28 points are ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Learning music was not a challenge for me, especially since I grew up in musically gifted families. Honestly math came easy for me, mostly because I was taught to keep up with the tempo of the music. I continued playing until my sophomore year in high school, I lost interest in high school; it seemed like it was more of a chore rather something to enjoy and the students made it difficult for me to perform so, I forced myself to leave. Before I quit the band in my sophomore year I joined the culinary arts club and the art society. I always loved making food, I started cooking around 6 to 7 years old under supervision of course. Slowly my parents had me help out in the kitchen, then they let me practice making baked goods and later, they started to let cook by myself. • 49. Density Of Rock Lab Density of a Known and Unknown Rock By: Abigail Craig Experiment Partners: Andria Vallero, Erin McDaniel, and Ragib Murtic October 16, 2015 CHM 23000 23 Introduction Matter is described as any object that holds mass and volume. Mass is the amount of matter in an object that is usually explained in the unit of kilograms. Volume is defined as the amount of space that matter takes up usually described by the unit liters. While mass and volume relate to matter, it also relates to density. Density is the amount of mass per unit volume. Common units for density include grams per milliliter for liquids, grams per centimeter for solids, and grams per liter for gases. The purpose of this lab is to explore the ways of calculating density through ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Volume for the Known Rock: 9.5 cm * 1.9 cm * 4.625 cm = 83.48125 cm cubed Volume for the Unknown Rock: 4.85 cm * 1.925 cm * 4.85 cm = 45.2808 cm cubed Density can be calculated by dividing the mass by the volume. Density (mass/ volume) of the Known Rock: 216.175 g / 83.48125 cm cubed = 2.59 grams per centimeters cubed Density (mass/ volume) of the Unknown Rock: 114.59 g/ 45.2808 cm cubed= 2.53 grams per centimeter cubed Results Each member of the group reported similar measurements.
