The American Of The Mexican American War
The Mexican American War was a gruesome and bloody battle involving the two major powers
between the Americans and the Mexicans. The first major power was the annexation of Texas and the
second power is the protection along with the acquisition of the territory. States provinces such as
California, Texas and New Mexico is inherited by Mexico from Spain. Mexico government was
weakened and practically bankrupt after the war and was unable to take control of their territories.
Before the war started, there are many causes for the war but what and how did the war start. It all
began when Hernán Cortés first conquers central Mexico. In Mexico, Spain establishes a colonial
government. The colony of Jamestown, Virginia, Santa Fe, New Mexico, and San Antonio, Texas
founded around the early 1600s to 1700s. The United States thirteen colonies declared independence
from Britain in 1776 and five years later British surrenders to the United States at Yorktown. The
United States purchases vast lands of the west of Mississippi from Napoleon also known as the
Louisiana Purchase. Lewis and Clark expedition to explore the western North America. On the year of
1810, the speech Miguel Hidalgo y Costilla gave triggered the beginning of Mexico s fight for
independence from Spain. The Adams Onis treaty signed by Spain and the United States establishes
the boundary of Mexico and the United States also giving Florida to the United States. The Missouri

Spanish Empire Research Paper
Overall Introduction The Spanish Empire began with the union of Aragon and Castile to create the
unified territory of Spain. The exile of the moors created an attitude towards religious dominion. This
need to go out and convert other people led to the Age of Exploration in which Spain discovered many
new lands and converted millions of natives. This period also created the most prosperous economy
for Spain but would later be detrimental to the empire. New findings of gold and silver flooded the
economy which caused economic problems to coincide with other major factors that caused the
empire to fall. The Spanish Empire has been one of the largest empires in history and influenced many
parts of the world.

In 1518 Velazques tried to stop Cortes from going to Mexico but he went anyway. Cortes had many
desires but he left Spain to seek his fortune in New World (Hernán Cortés). Cortes took with him 500
men and 11 ships to the Mexican coastline. With the help of a native translator, Dona Marina, Cortes
was able to speak to the natives. Cortes did not treat the natives kindly, in fact he fought and killed
Montezuma who was the Aztec ruler. Once Cortes had heard the Spanish were coming to arrest him
for taking the ships he fled. The Spanish soldiers find Cortes and instead of arresting him, Cortes tells
them to join him in the fight. The soldiers ended up supporting Cortes and in 1521 and the Spanish
take the city of Tenochtitlan. It is clear to see how religion motivated the Spaniards because after the
conquest of Mexico, a church was founded on the site of this temple The image below shows the

The Importance Of Post Clinical Trial Results In The...
Background Information
From 21 July 2014 it became compulsory to post clinical trial results in the European Clinical Trials
Database (EudraCT) which is managed by the European Medicines Agency (EMA) and it is essential
for clinical study information to be made more reachable and accessible. By saying Clinical Trial the
agencies are referring to any trials on new drugs that are in preparation for a regulatory submission,
drugs, devices or procedures on any medical interventions and any other investigations that involves
of participants for research purposes, for example psychology studies. All of these clinical trials may
generate numerous amounts of result or data. Traditionally only a few results were published in
journals and they ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This also avoids excessive research and expands the accessible evidence on an intervention.
Four sets of information are needed:
Whether the trial has actually happened, which means it is necessary for the trial to be registered.
Information such as the study protocol, analysis plan and possible completion date of the trial could be
registered before the trial starts. This means the final result could be checked against the protocol and
would be easier to find out about any non published trials.
Summary of the method and results brief summary and result for every trial that was conducted.
Clinical Study Reports (CSR) to see whether there were any amendments to the protocol during the
course of the trial, which could mean that somebody has noticed something in the result and they want
to change the analysis in a way that is more flattering. Often information on adverse events is very
incompletely reported in journal articles but much more completed in CSR.
Clinical Study Report (CSR) is a lengthy and comprehensive document that gives information in
regards with the methods and results of a clinical trial. This document is submitted to regulatory by a
company who is looking for approval to market a novel drug . It is a source that addresses efficacy and
safety.
Individual Patient Data (IPD) this can be defined as the raw data from a clinical trial that has been

The Results Of Gothic Architecture
The results of Gothic architecture in York
In the 12th century architecture saw the progression from Romanesque architecture to the Gothic era,
which saw the forthcoming of the prodigious cathedrals that were to become the architectural symbol
of the middle ages. This was during a time of high aspirations. As well structural developments Gothic
architecture is also associated with a change in thinking and social attitudes that are represented in
numerous ways, essentially appealing to emotions.
After the fall of the Roman Empire the political culture shifted from the feudal system to monarchy,
bringing forth a cultural identity. Poetry and art became more personal and intimate, giving people
individuality. It reflected the social sustainability of the modern age and the growing confidence of the
Christian Church of Rome, which successfully lead crusades to reclaim the Holy land from the Islamic
occupants. The representation of Christ changed from a godlike hero in the battle between good and
evil to a tortured human figure that sacrificed him self on the cross for the sins of mankind. To
respond, architects believed that light was the closest substance to God s true presence and focused on
making a network of ribs and vaults reaching towards heaven. Pointed arches looked towards the sky
as the city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine on it: for the glory of God did lighten
it . (The Bible. Revelation 21:23) The results were specific elements, such

Writing Styles Of My Writing Style
Sometimes when I look at the writing styles of my peers, be it on social media, emails I can sense a
distinction between the different writing styles that are used. When I m writing whether it be in an
email, text or a lab report I try my best to write everything more formally and longhand, which a lot of
people tend to overlook in today s society.
The last thing I wrote was a letter that I had sent to my significant other through the mail. The nuances
of writing seem to be disappearing from today s society, the finer intricacies of the English language
will be lost in a generation or two, and cursive language is no longer being taught in schools, with all
the abbreviations being used a lot of writing feels less personal and more mechanical.

What is Prejudice? * Everyone comes face to face with prejudice at some time or another. * Prejudice
is when we recognizethat we feel and act less positively towards others. * The roots of prejudice can
be found in the cognitive and emotional processes. * Prejudice may be perceived as acceptable and
justified * All inequality and differential treatment is not perceived and responded to in the same way.
The nature and origins of streotyping, prejudice and discrimination * Prejudice, stereotyping and

* Stereotypic judgment will be stable as long as the nature of the inter group relationship that exists
between any two groups is stable * When values and categorization change, stakes in the present
status is altered. * Prejudice is an attitude, usually negative towards members of a social group based
on their membership * It is dependent on the perceived norms and acceptability of doing so *
Information that is consistent with prejudiced views often received closer attention and is remembered
more * Prejudice may reflect more specific underlying emotional responses to different out groups
including fear, guilt and disgust. * Discriminatory actions that follow maybe different * Prejudice
persist because disparaging others can protect our self esteem. * Threats to our group s interest can
motivate prejudice and competition can escalate conflicts * Holding prejudiced views of an out group
allows members to bolster their own group s image. * Prejudice stems from direct competition
between groups over scarce and valued resources such as land, jobs, housing etc. * As competition
escalates, members of opposing groups view each other in increasingly negative terms. * Competition
can escalate into full scale, emotion laden prejudice. * Prejudice is derived from our tendency to
divide world into us and them . Categorization may be based on race, religion, gender, age occupation.

The And How Much We Spend On It Essay
Ihrig, Timothy. What We Can Do to Die Well TED. TED, September 2013. Wed, 6 October 2016
In this talk he discusses healthcare in America and how much we spend on it. He also talks about
people s experiences in healthcare and their quality of life from when they are diagnosed with a
terminal illness to their death. Timothy Ihrig speaks about his experiences dealing with people going
through the healthcare system and how they can improve their quality of life. He tells many stories
about patients that he has treated with a different approach to medicine. In his approach, he connects
with the person, he asks them what they want to do. This talk was very moving, and it really opened
my eyes to what people go through when dealing with illnesses and healthcare in this country. He
talks about healthcare spending and brings up very interesting statistics that could be used in an essay
about healthcare in America. He also talks about people s quality of life and how not putting them
through all of the invasive procedures could have a positive impact of their final days. He is very
knowledgeable and has a tony of experience in this topic and is overall a very good resource for
anybody writing a paper about this sort of thing.

Characteristics Of A Magnet
What is a magnet? Magnet is an object that can create magnetic field by itself. It is usually made from
iron. It had a pulling force called magnetism. The pulling force is able to pull at certain things like
objects made of iron or steel. It can attract or repel other magnetic objects that are not even
magnetized and of course other magnets too. Due to the characteristic of a magnet, it can give a great
impact to our world. It has many benefits to the industrial field, the transportation in our modern
world, the medical field and also to the household of our daily lives. It can even generate electricity.

For an example, the MRI which is also called the Magnetic Resonance Imaging. MRI is a technique
used in medicine to produce images of tissues inside a body. Physicians use these images to diagnose
some injuries, diseases and also disorders. It is very important as a diagnostic tool since it can enable
doctors or physicians to identify abnormal tissues without even doing any surgeries. The MRI does not
expose patients to radiations. It is unlike the other tests that uses X rays. Other than that, it can also let
doctors and physicians look through bones and organs. MRI is a safe diagnostic tool for almost
everyone.
However, without any exceptions, there is also some downsides of the Magnetic Resonance Imaging.
The MRI uses a strong and powerful magnet to operate. Therefore, people with metal implants such as
the pacemakers or artificial joint could not do the MRI since it would harm them. Moreover, the MRI
machines are extremely expensive and it must be placed in special facilities. As a result, they are
mostly found in larger medical centers or also in private hospitals. People who are poor and do not

Opinion Today Newsletter Summary
I began to scroll through the emojis on my phone. Yes, there were women s faces, and tiny women s
bodies. But for the women actually engaged in an activity or profession, there were only archetypes:
the flamenco dancer in her red gown, the bride in her flowing veil, the princess in her gold tiara. There
was a set of ballet dancers complete with bunny ears and black leotards, their smiles indicating that,
gosh, they were so grateful to God and everyone, really, for this opportunity to pose for Playboy.
There was a woman getting her hair cut, and another with her arm out, Valley Girl, osmosis ditz, as if
to say, Tenure? What is tenure? That sounds like an injury! Ow i!
Where, I wanted to know, was the fierce professor working her way to tenure?
Where was the lawyer? The accountant? The surgeon? How was there space for both a bento box and
a single fried coconut shrimp, and yet women were restricted to a smattering of tired, beauty centric
roles?
This was not a problem for our male emoji ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When my friend and I met up for drinks, we talked about this disparity, and the smaller one on our
screens. Scrolling through the options, we rejected the dancer and the unicorn and, in lieu of anything
else, settled on a penguin. My friend was, we agreed, a penguin. Not a creature of mythical
imagination, but something real. I d read, I told her, a recent report about several hundred thousand
penguins trapped by a collapsed glacier in Antarctica. Thousands had died, but the ones that survived
did so only through perseverance regularly traveling some 40 miles across barren nothingness to reach
the ocean.
She, and the women like her, we agreed, were creatures that persevered like crazy, and often against
all odds.

The Battle of Badr Mentioned in the Q uran
Introduction
The Battle of Badr was a decisive battle in the struggle of Mohammad against the Meccan community.
It was fought fifty miles southwest of Medina on March 13, 624 AD. The battle lasted a day and
consisted of three hundred thirteen unarmed men, two horses, and seventy camels. The Meccan army
consisted of around one thousand men, one hundred horses, and one hundred seventy camels. The
battle resulted in fourteen deaths of Muslim forces and seventy deaths of Meccan forces. This battle is
one of the few battles mentioned in the Qu ran, the Islamic Holy Book. Most of the documentation of
the battle come from Islamic Hadiths and biographies of Mohammad. Between 623 and 624, the
Muslims fought many small skirmishes against the Quraish Meccans. The Battle of Badr was the first
large scale fight between them. At the time of the battle, Badr was a small oasis southwest of Medina.
It was located in a valley that had two wells. Muhammad was able to use those facts to his advantage.
(Armstrong, 1992)
Influential People in the Battle The most influential person in the battle was Muhammad. He was the
Muslim leader and essentially the founder of the Islamic religion. In the Islamic faith, he is a prophet
sent from God to deliver his message to the people. The accounts are collected in the Qu ran and in
Hadiths. Hadiths are the sayings and doings of Muhammad. Abu Jahl was the primary antagonist of
Muhammad. He was the Quraish leader and lead the Meccan army into the Battle

Filial Duty In King Lear
Although differing in choices of medium and separated by over 200 years, the values of the two texts
are transcendent of time and are shaped completely by their context. Whilst this, understanding the
characters illustrated in both King Lear and Ran, provides us with a moment of reflection into our own
society, evoking the importance of family, filial virtue, the monarchy, and a great chain of being.
During the Elizabethan and Sengoku era, a family was viewed as an economical unit, allowing future
generations to build on from the success of previous generations in the form of inheritance. Due to this
inheritance, it was expected of children to carry out their filial duty by obeying and respecting their
parents. Hence, the audiences would have viewed the fracturing of the bonds between the children and
their parents as severe as the breakdown of society itself. Shakespeare expresses the importance of
filial duty through the form of inheritance, conducted via the love test , Gonerill and Regan through
insincere remarks impress Lear due to his preference for appearance over reality. Cordelia unlike, her
two sisters, challenges her father flaw, truthfully expressing a much deeper love which is evoked in act
2, scene 4, as she says You have begot me, bred me, lov d me, I return those duties back at are right fit,
obey you, love you and most honour you. she harbours no grudge against her father s cruelty towards
her, but moreover reinforces her love, devotion and loyalty to

Juan Peron Essay
Juan Peron is only half of the story of populism in Argentina. His wife, Eva, played a major role in his
rise and contributed greatly to the maintenance of his power. She was loved by the masses because of
the social work that she pushed for and was responsible for the Peronist Women s Party, she also
played a, important role in attaining the franchise for women in 1947. (Burns 1986, 248)
Throughout the 1950s, Brazil continued to see a great deal of economic growth under President
Juscelino Kubitschek and his vice president Joao Goulart. Goulart had previously been Vargas
Minister of labour and was unpopular with the military because he was viewed as dangerously left
wing. He was on the ticket because of the coalition between the Labour Party and the Social
Democratic Party that had brought Kubitschek to power. (Calvert 1990, 127) Kubitschek unleased a
program of accelerated progress that aimed at fifty years of progress in five, but despite making
Kubitschek a popular leader, even at the end of his term, he left the country with high inflation due to
the debts take on to help industrialize. His successor s attempts to address the situation were hugely
unpopular with the poor and he left office less than a year after election, and he was replaced by
Goulart. (Wiarda 1996, 122 124) ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It is important to stress the role that populism played in creating this conflict, or if left right conflict is
deterministic accelerating this conflict. In both Argentina and Brazil it would have been almost
impossible to speak of labour, before populism, effecting any change as a movement. At best labour
movements has been tolerated by governments, although they had won few battles. The rise of labour
was never an independent movement in these countries. (Burns 1986,

there is a catch. Most religions have one thing is common, that all of them believe in a being of divine
or super power. The Grandma is this story references praying to God a lot when conversing with the
Misfit. Her pleads for the Misfit to pray touches on a large theme, God s grace. The Grandma tries to
convince the Misfit that everyone can be saved by God s grace by saying, Why you re one of my

The reader is able to see the fate of the family is never actually in the hands of the family. The family s
fate is truly in the hands of the Misfit. The idea of fate is shown through the sky when it conveyed as:
...see no sun...see no cloud either (O Connor 19). The glimmering sun would mean the family would
live, where the dark clouds would mean the family s death. Besides the sky showing the status of the
family s fate, their fate is controlled by a large outside factor, the Misfit. The Misfit is the one who
decides who lives, and who dies. The Misfit is the one who has the gun, who has the men, and who
has the mental advantage over the family. The reader realizes that the Grandma s fate is sealed when
she becomes the last one standing. The setting is illustrated as: There was a not a cloud in the
sky...there was nothing around her but wood (O Connor 25). As the Misfit stands over the Grandma,
the clear open sky indicates that the Grandma has died and gone to heaven. Even with all of the

Shockingly, the awkwardness which we have made between our life and earth is as of now giving the
hints calamities as surge, violent winds, avalanches, tidal wave, dry spell, and so forth. On the off
chance that the lopsidedness keeps on rising, one day this will suggest a conversation starter mark on
the presence of this planet. Carbon dioxide (C02) which is an essential constituent of environment is
bringing on a warming impact on the world s surface.
It expands the vanishing of water into the climate. Since water vapor itself is a nursery gas, this causes
still all the more warming. The warming causes more water vapor to be vanished. The C02 level is
relied upon to ascend in future because of continuous blazing of fossil powers and landuse change.
The rate of rise will depend generally on dubious financial, sociological, mechanical and regular
advancements. Different gasses, for example, methane, CFCs, nitrous oxide, tropospheric ozone are
likewise in charge of an Earth wide temperature boost. Increments in all these gasses are because of
unstable populace development, expanded mechanical extension, innovative progression,
deforestation and developing urbanization, and so on.
Trees assume a noteworthy part in the worldwide carbon cycle. They are the biggest area based
instrument for expelling carbon dioxide from the air.

This would be considered the first democracy. It was an important stepping stone in the Roman
culture. People played a part in the government similar to the way we do now in the western world.
There were different branches with similar function to those that are used today. The legislative branch
was comprised of a senate and assemblies. While the executive branch was members who were
elected in and responsible for controlling the military. There was the judicial branch containing judges
who were also elected in by an assembly. The Roman government was ahead of its time and
unconventional. Had these branches not been formed, ours might not have ever been shaped to what
they currently are. The Twelve Tables was the first documented laws. The tables were designed for the
protection of the people against abuses (Ancient Rome). During this time period the laws included
were appropriate for the circumstances. One such table says that children s lives were essentially the
discretion of the father. He could choose whether he wanted to put the child/ren to death (Spielvogel).
This obviously is not something we do today, but it was thought to be appropriate in that era. There
was also a table that states a man who is summoned, must go to court. If not he would be forced to do
so. This is the only table that we follow as a law. Many of the tables we would not use today, but the

Disorder (DID). The Multidimensional Inventory of Dissociation (MID) was administered to 34
patients with DID, 23 patients with dissociative disorder not otherwise specified (DDNOS), 52
patients with mixed psychiatric disorder, and 58 normal people. DID patients acquired essentially
higher scores than the other three gatherings on 27 separation related variables. DDNOS patients had

American Fashion Industry in 21st Century
American Fashion in 21st Century Fashion is the need to adapt to ever changing styles; to dress in
distinctive and current trends and a means for one to express their individuality. Fashion refers to
keeping every aspect of one s body up to date for varying reasons. Some people prefer a simple life
style with modest attire whereas most passionately follow the fashion industry and rapidly change
accordingly. This increase in demand for individually tailored items including everything from
clothing and footwear to makeup and body piercings is what gave birth to the fashion industry. The

What is more, this completion extends to designers as well since they strive to differentiate their
products introduce innovative styles which can result in an inefficient use of resources and illegal
business practices. This need for cost minimization is one of the reasons as to why the fashion
industry exploits cheap foreign labor. The glamor, the runways and the exhibitions are just the front of
a dark background. This industry works on the basis of subcontracting, where designers place orders
with manufacturers who then hire sub contractor to complete their orders. Since this industry is highly
competitive subcontractor are given only take or leave option with often less payment compared to
amount of work which forces them to resort to employing cheap labor in their own workshops which
often end up resembling sweat shops. Even if this is not the case, designer brands have their own units
to produce their goods. Recently many of the fashion retailers have been accused of underpaying their
workers and violating international labor laws by running sweatshop. These involve extremely low
wages, long working hours and poor working conditions. Earlier this month, factories in Cambodia
were investigated for possible violation labor laws. These factories produced clothing for the fast
fashion retailer H amp;M which was found to be paying their workers a measly wage of $61 a month

As I looked out the window, I saw walls of rocks all over the place. I also saw a lot of good rock
exposure on the top of the mountain where the rock was to steep for the snow to stick to. You will
notice that Mount Baker has an abundance of all sorts of rocks. From the rocks I examined I observed
a lot of extrusive igneous rock, metamorphic rock and sedimentary rocks and you will find few places
where you can walk continuously from shale or basalt into well metamorphosed gneiss (Tabor
Haugerud). I observed rocks such as gabbro, shale, and types of extrusive and intrusive igneous rock
such as basalt. The ages of the rocks range from about as old as the mountain, which is about 140,000
years old.
Structures:
When you look at a topographic map of Mount Baker, you will notice many different structures and
interesting landforms. The first thing I noticed when I was observing the map were all the different
peaks within the mountain. From what I have been reading I have found two major faults that are
within Mount Baker. These two faults are the Straight Creek Fault and the Ross Lake Fault Zone;
these faults are thought to be primarily strike slip. In addition, on the geologic map you will notice the
Sherman Crater, which originated from a large hydrovolcanic explosion (Tabor, Haugerud, Hildreth,

mountain and into Baker Lake. The pattern of hills, valleys, ridges, and

during all stages ... can lead to early buy in, successful program design, and establishment of long
term support for the program (www.ahrq.gov, 2014). If the stakeholders were not involved in some of
the decisions and planning stages of the new pharmacy, they would be left feeling insecure and

If the pharmacy would offer discounted drugs, they could expect to see customers who are self pay or
do not have a prescription plan. Self paying customers and those on a monthly budget would be
attracted to discounted prices that the pharmacy could offer. Pharmacist could provide detailed
information about the prescription and what drugs may counteract them, continuing the health
management plan provided by the physician. After establishing the need for customer base, they
would have to look at the competition and their buying patterns. One thing this pharmacy has is the
availability to patient s medical health history on hand; this would make the patient at ease knowing
the pharmacist has knowledge of their medical history. According to Williams Torrens (2008), As
patients and health care professionals have turned increasingly to medications as cost effective
alternatives to invasive surgery and hospitalization, spending on prescription medications has
naturally increased (263). Medicine is providing patients to live longer, healthier lives even though
they might suffer from a chronic illness or disease. Showing stakeholders this information of increased
prescription medications might help influence their decision to support the new pharmacy. An

Example Of Crime Against Humanity
Overview of Literature Concept 1
This scholarly article explains when abuse is so severe that it surpasses mistreatment of a few
individuals it is called crime against humanity. These crimes against humanity do not happen by
chance or by impulse but are rather the result of well thought out and justified reasoning. Such crimes
are not the result of individuals but instead require large systematic compliance. Crimes against
humanity are founded on the idea that certain human begins are not equal and therefore do not have
rights or protection under the law. Unborn children do not have rights and are not protected under the
law. The most famous example of crimes against humanity is the Jewish Holocaust that resulted in the
killing of six million European Jews because of their race. Abortion can be compared to crimes against
humanity because there is no doubt that abortions are intentional and systemic. Around 2,500
abortions occur every day in the United States. In 1973, since the Supreme Court legalized abortion in
all states, roughly 60 million unborn children have lost their lives.
A research professor in Genocide Studies, Gregory Stanton, explains how abortion falls into the
definition of genocide. The word genocide is a combination of the Greek word geno which means race
and the Latin word cide which means killing. The definition of the word genocide is the intentional
and systematic demolition of a national, religious, cultural, ethnic, or any other group of the human

The On Apache Hadoop s Open Source Offerings
With the rise of Hadoop in the workplace, along with it comes a rise of vendors offering various
platforms to store, access, and analyze vast amounts of data. These platforms vary in their
functionality, cost, and ease of use, among other factors. Three of the more popular vendors are
Amazon Web Services, Map R, and Cloudera. While each of these is based on Apache Hadoop s open
source offerings, it is the applications and reach that differentiates them. Although price will always be
a factor as well, this comparison seeks only to explore the vendors themselves, not the price of
admission. One of the best features of MapR is that they allow Hadoop to be accessed not only from
the cloud, but also from traditional network sources as well. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

As of 2014, Map R has over 500 clients and growing, but going forward they, as well as many others,
face the challenge of their proprietary tools being replaced by open source substitutions. The
application suite of Map R is varied, but even includes specific software suites to ease the pain of
planning, creating, and maintaining clusters. This one in particular, StackIQ, automates the process
from the ground up. The company offers three distributions, M3, M5, and M7. M3 is offered as a free
version, while M5 and M7 are paid versions that allow access to more powerful tools for improving
performance and reliability. The M7 version also allows much greater access to to tinkering with their
real time, low latency streams. The business applications are varied, covering everything from
administration to analyst to developer. Amazon Web Services, much like Map R, and perhaps thanks
to them, also offers the same guarantee of no single point of failure and distributed computing
functions through popular applications such as Hive and Hbase. Also as part of its Web Services, you
can run EC2 instances from nearly any type of virtual machine available. The cluster management
tools are powerful and run the gamut of a graphical user interface console, the Amazon Web Services
command line interface, their EMI client, a software development kit available to code additional
applications, as well as a web service API. All of the tools provide

Immigrant Youth Mentoring
Refugee and immigrant youth mentoring There are a number of influencing factors that challenge
refugee and immigrant youths acculturation process, including lack of family support, informal
counseling by peers or other adults and a lack of social initiatives to address culturally unique needs of
youth, especially acculturation gap between youth and parents ( Morland, Ellis, Birnam, 2012). More
recent studies on youth development concluded that facilitating youth mentoring relationship is more
likely to benefit the youth, yet, quality matters and strong youth mentor relationship is associated with
positive outcome in acculturation of youth. Suarez, Onaqa, Lardemelle (2010) argued that immigrant
youth are subject to acculturative stress, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Charles Darwin s Theory Of Natural Phenomenon And A...
Charles Darwin was born on February 12, 1809 in Shrewsbury, England and was raised as a fifth child
by a wealthy family. In 1825, Darwin graduated from the Elite school at Shrewsbury. In 1927 he
dropped out from the University of Edinburgh and entered the University of Cambridge in order to
become a clergyman for the Church of England. There he met Adam Sedgwick and John Stevens
Henslowe. The two figures taught Darwin to become and observe of natural phenomenon and a
collector of specimen. After graduating from Cambridge in 1831 to 1836 Darwin served as naturalist
aboard the H.M.S. Beagle on a British science expedition around the world. During his cruse on the
H.M.S. Beagle, Charles Darwin became interested with the similarities between the plants and animals
that were similar on different islands with similar climates, so he decided to study them more closely
for future study. With the studies Charles Darwin obtained, he published his first work, The Origin of
Species. In this book he explained how for millions of years animals and plants have evolved to better
help their existence. Charles Darwin, who was the British Naturalist, became famous for his theories
of evolution. Darwin believed all the life on earth evolved over millions of years from a few common
ancestors. Charles Darwin has had the greatest influence on the world by providing the evolution of
living things. After his return to London, Darwin conducted through experiments of his notes and
specimens.

Common Carotid Atherosclerosis Model
We sum up that the IPB 1+CO diet could induce similar characteristic in body measurement and
plasma lipid profiles with western atherogenic diet and suggested that responsiveness could be a good
sign to choose the individual monkeys as an atherosclerosis model with any atherogenic diet, included
IPB 1+CO. If there was no increase of TPC at the first 3 months of feeding, the monkeys might not
produce a hypercholesterolemia, although for long term feeding, and might not form the plaques in the
arteries.
4.2. Ultrasound scanning
Imaging of arteries will become increasingly useful, justified, and available to determine
atherosclerosis condition [14] (Ibanez 2009). The goal of imaging is similar to that for examination of
plaque by pathological techniques. In clinical trials, the measurement of atherosclerosis most
frequently defined in carotid artery [33] (Tang et al. 2000). Our present study proved that 1 year

The IMT of common carotid artery was usually measured because of its easier accessibility and
perpendicular location to the ultrasound beam, whereas carotid atherosclerosis predominantly occurs
earliest downstream in the bulb (and often only in the bulb), which may not be as easily visible with B
mode ultrasound [34] (Finn et al. 2010). The standard value of common carotid IMT that indicate the
presence of atherosclerotic plaque in animal model M. fascicularis have not been mentioned before.
From all the parameters (size, shape, echogenicity and homogeneity changes), we determined that
plaque in cynomolgus in this study was presented at the IMT at least 0,3 mm. In human, normal
common carotid IMT has been established arbitrarily as approximately 0.05 to 0.11 cm; thus, values
0.11 cm are considered to indicate the presence of an atherosclerotic plaque and its correlates linearly
with the number of atherosclerotic risk factors like hyperlipidemia [35] (Baldassarre et al.

Confucianism
What is the ideal person supposed to be or do? In any religious system, this is always the paramount
question. Confucianism itself is not a religion, per se, but a set of first principles of social organization
and behavior, so there are no larger otherworldly implications to the Confucian plan for humanity. For
Confucius, life consists of ethical principles: the central problem with humanity is anything which
exacerbates human tendencies towards social disharmony. The Confucian system is one in which
social order is paramount: Douglas Soccio defines Confucius not as a religious figure or philosopher
per se, but as the social sage (Soccio 33). Confucius offers no prescriptions about deities or the
afterlife, but instead gives rules of conduct in essence a manual of etiquette, which manages to raise
etiquette to the level of a Kantian moral imperative which results in the larger set of ethical precepts
that comprise the teachings of Confucius. For Confucius, the goal for every human being is to live in
greatest harmony within society, which means adhering to specifically defined social roles. In some
sense, Confucianism is not a religion but it places its most reverent attitudes towards the idea of
education Confucius himself is presented as no more than a teacher (of right behavior, of rules of
conduct, more than a teacher of moral inquiry) and good education is central to the Confucian concept
of good behavior and for its fairly circumscribed sense of any the larger

Analysis Of The Princess And The Frog
Disney films over their course of existence have hidden double meanings in many of the films they
produce. Rather if you are a child or a full pledged adult, people from all different ages can receive a
bit of advice when it comes to what Disney films try to convey in their motion pictures. Disney is also
to be known for some of their unforgettable whimsical characters and memorable songs in every film.
The film released in 2009 The Princess and The Frog is no different. Especially when it comes to
Mama s Odie s musical number half way through the film. Mama s Odie s song, Dig a Little Deeper is
full of metaphors, themes and imagery one can deeply analyze.
At the same time we can apply the song, Dig a Little Deeper, to various characters we have come to
learn and explore through the several novels we have covered over the course of the semester. We can
also apply it to the distinct issues pertaining to women in the South.
The title of the song itself gives the viewer the overall significant and direct theme of the piece right
away. It urges a person to go beyond the surface of a circumstance almost saying as if to go into the
root or origin of the matter. To find who a person really is at the core of their being. At the start of the
song Mama Odie comes off as a non judgmental person. Don t matter what you look like. Don t matter
what you wear. How many rings you got on your finger. We don t care. Being in front of her and don

Atrial Septal Defect (ASD)
When most people hear broken heart they think a bad breakup right? Well that s not the only way
broken heart can be used, it can also be used a literal sense, like when talking about an Atrial Septal
Defect (ASD). An Atrial Septal Defect is a hole in the wall between the two upper chambers of the
heart. There are symptoms and ways to diagnose ASD. Also what happens if you do not treat ASD.
There are many ways to treat ASD.
Most people with ASD do not show symptoms and seem as if they are healthy. One symptom is
shortness of breath (Mayo, 2017). This shortness of breath can amplify during physical actively such
as working out. This particular symptom can be misdiagnosed as sports induced asthma. ASD can also
cause the lungs to take longer to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The untreated patients will have stable health through the first two decades of life. If gone past two
decades of life, the problems that will occur involve circulation of blood and damaged lungs (Dr.
Martin personal communication May 11th, 2017). A problem related to not treating ASD is congested
lungs, which interferes with the movement of oxygen from the air into the blood. It also affects the
ability to remove carbon dioxide from the blood. The lungs are continually working harder than
normal lungs (sharecare, n.d.). An additional problem that occurs with the lungs is increased pressure
and thickness within them. The unoxygenated blood from the veins starts going to not only the lungs
but everywhere in the body, because it is mixing with oxygenated blood where the hole is (Dr. Martin
person communication May 11th, 2017). Another complication is irreversible damage to the blood
vessels from pulmonary artery hypertension. Abnormal heart rhythm and strokes are also two common
results of not treating an Atrial Septal Defect (sharecare, n.d.). Larger defects left untreated can cause
Right sided heart failure. A less common complication that can occur is Eisenmenger Syndrome,
which is pulmonary hypertension that causes permanent lung damage. Pulmonary hypertension is
increased blood flow to your lungs that then increases the blood pressure in the lung arteries (Mayo,
2017).
To avoid those long term affects the patients should get an Atrial Septal Defect treated. To determine
the plan for treatment the doctors look at the size of the hole. The affected person has to have wall for
the device to attach to get the cardiac catheterizations. If the patient has little to no wall present then
open heart surgery is used to fix it (Dr. Martin personal communication May 11th,

Vaccines Are Really Good For Our Children
More and more in today s generation you hear the debates about whether or not vaccines are actually
doing good for our children. Many people believe that vaccinations lead to greater health risks, such
as ADD, autism, and diabetes. They also believe that the diseases that vaccinations prevent are just not
around anymore, such as polio and small pox. They also believe that a child s immune system can
fight off any disease that vaccinations prevent. Despite what these people believe, they are wrong. (
Vaccines , 2016) Today s children are immunized by age 13 against some 16 diseases (or 53 vaccine
doses), including measles, mumps, rubella, diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis (whooping cough), hepatitis
A and B, meningitis, pneumonia, polio, chicken pox, flu, rotavirus and the human papillomavirus.
Most vaccinations are required, such as measles, tetanus, polio. Others are optional, such as flue,
chicken pox, or hpv, although recommend, parents are given the option for those vaccinations. As
harmless as any of these may seem, some of these are life threatening and not something anyone
would want to have. There is no cure for polio. Your body will shut down and you will weaken, until
you lose all muscle function. Tetanus is a serious bacterial disease that affects your nervous system,
leading to painful muscle contractions, particularly of your jaw and neck muscles. (Mayo clinic staff,
2013) Tetanus can also lead to death. Meningitis is inflammation of brain and

Examples Of Personification In Into Thin Air
In the story Into Thin Air, the author talks about his experiences about Mountain Everest. He uses lots
of figurative language as he has to talk about how others and himself are feeling. In the passage The
roar of the wind made it impossible to communicate from one tent to the next. In this godforsaken
place. (Krakauer 284), he uses personification because we imagine roar as loud as a lion and he wants
to compare it to the wind that s making loud noise. This passage also gives us feeling of how he felt
from this uproar of sound, he expresses himself by saying in this godsakenplace (284), this attitude
tells us that the wind is not breezing, instead it s more of an unpleasant sounding gush of air. As a
reader, I can say that he is trying ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The author uses personification in the passage And the meter was running; even as we reclined in our
tents we were using up precious gas. (284). I think he includes lots of personification because he loves
to compare human characteristics to non living objects since we know how it physically feels to do
human characteristics. In this case, he says the meter is running and when we think of running, we
know how it feels to have our heartbeat feel. Overall, he plays with his language to make sure that we
are bored of the passage and we can feel the setting in the story. In the next passage, we talk about
how he is feeling emotionally. Through this expedition, he goes through a rough time with getting his
energy up and not giving up, the challenging part is trying to stay with the team. Throughout his
expedition, he is having to take care of his teammates and he wouldn t take care of them for no reason,
there was always a reason to take care of people around him.. He says I felt disconnected from the
climbers around me emotionally, spiritually, physically to a degree I had not experiences on any
previous expedition... yet I would do everything in my power to keep pushing on if he turned around
(284), this is an example of pathos because he uses his heart to express his feeling about his
connections with his teammates. In the actual passage, he talks about his teammates for quite a while
which also makes the reader know that he is really

The exile of the moors created an attitude towards religious dominion. Background Information From 21 July 2014 it became compulsory to post clinical trial results in the European Clinical Trials Database (EudraCT) which is managed by the European Medicines Agency (EMA) and it is essential for clinical study information to be made more reachable and accessible. The Results Of Gothic Architecture The results of Gothic architecture in York In the 12th century architecture saw the progression from Romanesque architecture to the Gothic era, which saw the forthcoming of the prodigious cathedrals that were to become the architectural symbol of the middle ages. This was during a time of high aspirations. As well structural developments Gothic architecture is also associated with a change in thinking and social attitudes that are represented in numerous ways, essentially appealing to emotions. After the fall of the Roman Empire the political culture shifted from the feudal system to monarchy, bringing forth a cultural identity. Poetry and art became more personal and intimate, giving people individuality. It reflected the social sustainability of the modern age and the growing confidence of the Christian Church of Rome, which successfully lead crusades to reclaim the Holy land from the Islamic occupants. The representation of Christ changed from a godlike hero in the battle between good and evil to a tortured human figure that sacrificed him self on the cross for the sins of mankind. The last thing I wrote was a letter that I had sent to my significant other through the mail. The nuances of writing seem to be disappearing from today s society, the finer intricacies of the English language will be lost in a generation or two, and cursive language is no longer being taught in schools, with all the abbreviations being used a lot of writing feels less personal and more mechanical. ... But for the women actually engaged in an activity or profession, there were only archetypes: the flamenco dancer in her red gown, the bride in her flowing veil, the princess in her gold tiara. There was a set of ballet dancers complete with bunny ears and black leotards, their smiles indicating that, gosh, they were so grateful to God and everyone, really, for this opportunity to pose for Playboy. There was a woman getting her hair cut, and another with her arm out, Valley Girl, osmosis ditz, as if to say, Tenure? What is tenure? That sounds like an injury! Ow i! Where, I wanted to know, was the fierce professor working her way to tenure? Where was the lawyer? The accountant? The surgeon? Not a creature of mythical imagination, but something real. I d read, I told her, a recent report about several hundred thousand penguins trapped by a collapsed glacier in Antarctica. Thousands had died, but the ones that survived did so only through perseverance regularly traveling some 40 miles across barren nothingness to reach the ocean. • 11. The Battle of Badr Mentioned in the Q uran Introduction The Battle of Badr was a decisive battle in the struggle of Mohammad against the Meccan community. It was fought fifty miles southwest of Medina on March 13, 624 AD. The battle lasted a day and consisted of three hundred thirteen unarmed men, two horses, and seventy camels. The Meccan army consisted of around one thousand men, one hundred horses, and one hundred seventy camels. The battle resulted in fourteen deaths of Muslim forces and seventy deaths of Meccan forces. This battle is one of the few battles mentioned in the Qu ran, the Islamic Holy Book. Most of the documentation of the battle come from Islamic Hadiths and biographies of Mohammad. Between 623 and 624, the Muslims fought many small skirmishes against the Quraish Meccans. The Battle of Badr was the first large scale fight between them. At the time of the battle, Badr was a small oasis southwest of Medina. It was located in a valley that had two wells. Muhammad was able to use those facts to his advantage. (Armstrong, 1992) Influential People in the Battle The most influential person in the battle was Muhammad. He was the Muslim leader and essentially the founder of the Islamic religion. In the Islamic faith, he is a prophet sent from God to deliver his message to the people. The accounts are collected in the Qu ran and in Hadiths. Hadiths are the sayings and doings of Muhammad. • 13. Filial Duty In King Lear Although differing in choices of medium and separated by over 200 years, the values of the two texts are transcendent of time and are shaped completely by their context. Whilst this, understanding the characters illustrated in both King Lear and Ran, provides us with a moment of reflection into our own society, evoking the importance of family, filial virtue, the monarchy, and a great chain of being. During the Elizabethan and Sengoku era, a family was viewed as an economical unit, allowing future generations to build on from the success of previous generations in the form of inheritance. Due to this inheritance, it was expected of children to carry out their filial duty by obeying and respecting their parents. Hence, the audiences would have viewed the fracturing of the bonds between the children and their parents as severe as the breakdown of society itself. Shakespeare expresses the importance of filial duty through the form of inheritance, conducted via the love test , Gonerill and Regan through insincere remarks impress Lear due to his preference for appearance over reality. These crimes against humanity do not happen by chance or by impulse but are rather the result of well thought out and justified reasoning. Such crimes are not the result of individuals but instead require large systematic compliance. Crimes against humanity are founded on the idea that certain human begins are not equal and therefore do not have rights or protection under the law. Unborn children do not have rights and are not protected under the law. The most famous example of crimes against humanity is the Jewish Holocaust that resulted in the killing of six million European Jews because of their race. Confucianism itself is not a religion, per se, but a set of first principles of social organization and behavior, so there are no larger otherworldly implications to the Confucian plan for humanity. For Confucius, life consists of ethical principles: the central problem with humanity is anything which exacerbates human tendencies towards social disharmony. The Confucian system is one in which social order is paramount: Douglas Soccio defines Confucius not as a religious figure or philosopher per se, but as the social sage (Soccio 33). Confucius offers no prescriptions about deities or the afterlife, but instead gives rules of conduct in essence a manual of etiquette, which manages to raise etiquette to the level of a Kantian moral imperative which results in the larger set of ethical precepts that comprise the teachings of Confucius. For Confucius, the goal for every human being is to live in greatest harmony within society, which means adhering to specifically defined social roles. In some sense, Confucianism is not a religion but it places its most reverent attitudes towards the idea of education Confucius himself is presented as no more than a teacher (of right behavior, of rules of conduct, more than a teacher of moral inquiry) and good education is central to the Confucian concept of good behavior and for its fairly circumscribed sense of any the larger ... It also affects the ability to remove carbon dioxide from the blood. The lungs are continually working harder than normal lungs (sharecare, n.d.). The unoxygenated blood from the veins starts going to not only the lungs but everywhere in the body, because it is mixing with oxygenated blood where the hole is (Dr. Martin person communication May 11th, 2017).
