NATIONAL LIBRARY BOARD SINGAPORE: Executive Coaching
NATIONAL LIBRARY BOARD SINGAPORE (NLB) is one of the most innovative public service
organisations in Singapore. It provides a trusted, accessible and globally-connected library and
information service to promote a knowledgeable and engaged society.
Like all high-performing organisations, NLB ensures continuous success by consistently raising
the bar on its own performance and seeking newand improved ways to better serve its patrons.
As an employee focused organisation, NLB strives to help them achieve their full potential.
The Challenge
CELSIM was asked to provide executive coaching on a one-to-one basis for top and senior
managers to:
 Accelerate individual professional and personal growth.
 Harness their potential and motivate them to get the best out of themselves.
 Produce quantifiable and sustained improvements in performance.
The Solution
Using our GAPPS (GAINMORE™ Advantage Potential to Performance System) – a 76-question
leadership capability self- assessment tool – we profile the organisation, team and individual, and
guide participants to the “So what now?” step, suggesting a planned development path and
offering participants links to personalised modules, courses and e-learning..
With rigorous reliability and validity, GAPPS provides 3 important profiles:
1. Leadership Dimensions – Intellectual Capability, Managerial Competencies and
Emotional Intelligence
2. Leadership Team Role Preference and Behaviors
3. GAINMORE™ Development Profile
Upon completion of GAPPS self assessment one week prior, we conduct one hour face-to face
confidential coaching sessions that include:
 GAPPS Report Feedback: a thorough and comprehensive reviewof individual profile
reports, identifying strengthsand development priorities.
 Personal Goal Setting in work/career: this (these) are agreed with the participant and
become the agreed outcome(s) for their own coaching programme.
The Results
NLB top and senior managers gained the motivation and confidence to create deep sustainable
change swiftly and easily to achieve their own and the organisation’s goals.
