It is widely acknowledged that coaching is an essential component in the 21st
century leadership skill set. Coaching is defined as a collaborative personalized
process that facilitates new thinking to cause positive change. As a situational
leadership competency participants will discover where coaching fits into their
leadership landscape; learn and use some key learning tools and dive deeply into the
core coaching communication skills of listening completely and of speaking with clarity
– including the 5 core elements of speaking.
Participants then learn and practice effective structures for conversations; goal setting
best practice; and learn and apply some processes of change; understand and work
with simple neuroscience; understand and practice how to develop self-awareness:
and the neuroscience to support all this learning. Participants learn how to use coaching
both with teams and individuals. The programme is delivered in two days of face to face
learning plus three 1 hour virtual meetings over the following 6 weeks. There are 3 hours
of practical assignments outside of the classroom.
