New pedestrianism is a pedestrian-oriented version of new urbanism that aims to reduce reliance on automobiles. It creates walkable and bikeable communities by separating pedestrians from vehicle traffic. The document provides definitions of new pedestrianism and discusses its elements and principles. It also presents case studies of new pedestrianism projects in DeLand, Florida and Iskandar, Malaysia, comparing their designs, populations, and other characteristics. Both case studies incorporated features like rear vehicle access, pedestrian lanes, mixed uses, and connectivity between areas to promote walkability and sustainable transportation.
Walkability best practices are initiatives and activities that most effectively contribute to increasing the number and frequency of work, recreation, shopping, school, fitness, and other walking trips, increasing the walk share of all people trips made in a community, and improving the safety, comfort, convenience, and well-being experience of walking throughout a community. This workshop presentation presents a number of best practices, and suggests how citizens can organize their resources to promote achieving these practices in their communities.

Road accidents have become a common occurrence and it is predicted that soon they will become the leading killers in today’s motorized world overtaking AIDS and Tuberculosis. The worst hit by these accidents are the pedestrians. This paper aims at providing a detailed analysis of the present legal position of the pedestrian in India and the need to make modifications. The paper draws a comparison between the laws present in other countries as well as the initiative taken by the world community as a whole. In the end the paper suggests a model charter of rights and duties for the pedestrian in India.

Frank Lloyd Wright (June 8, 1867 – April 9, 1959) was an American architect, designer, writer, and educator. He designed more than 1,000 structures over a creative period of 70 years.
Wrightt believed in designing in harmony with humanity and its environment, a philosophy he called organic architecture.
This philosophy was best exemplified by Fallingwater (1935), which has been called the best all-time work of American architecture. As a founder of organic architecture, Wright played a key role in the architectural movements of the twentieth century, influencing three generations of architects worldwide through his works.

With changing urbanization pattern along with socio-economic growth, a transport demand in urban area of India is growing rapidly. Non-motorized modes of transport have a significant role in catering to transport demand and ensuring a sustainable transport system for India. Indian situation is very different. India is poor in hydro-carbon and capital resources but rich in man power and animal draft power. A sustainable transport system must meet the mobility and accessibility needs of people by providing safe and environmentally friendly modes of transportation. Non-motorized transportation (NMT) meets these objectives of sustainability as it utilizes indigenously available human and animal energy which is non-polluting, safe, affordable and user friendly and need only a small fraction of the capital required for motorized transport.

Urban sustainability is the idea that a city can be organised without excessive reliance on the surrounding countryside and be able to power itself with renewable sources of energy.
Today's world is urbanizing rapidly. Two-thirds of the population, or 6 billion people, will live in cities by 2050. Current patterns of urban form and transportation systems will yield perilous outcomes--increased traffic congestion, air pollution, reduced quality of life. But a dozen urban development guidelines can reverse these trends, helping to create healthy, thriving, sustainable cities.

HISTORY OF GARDEN CITY
FEATURES OF GARDENCITY
EXAMPLES O GARDEN CITY
REFERENCE -TOWN PLANNING AND ARCHITECTURE ,R S AGRAWAL
Garden cities were intended to be planned, self-contained communities surrounded by "greenbelts", containing proportionate areas of residences, industry, and agriculture.
The garden city introduced the use of green belts that have served many uses including the preservation of agricultural and rural life, nature and heritage conservation, recreation, pollution minimization, and growth management.
Garden city tradition endowed urban planning with a social and community dimensions.
The garden city idea however, showed how both industrial estates and collective retailing spaces could be used within a comprehensive planning approach to serve public purposes.
June 3, 2024 Anti-Semitism Letter Sent to MIT President Kornbluth and MIT Cor...Levi Shapiro
Letter from the Congress of the United States regarding Anti-Semitism sent June 3rd to MIT President Sally Kornbluth, MIT Corp Chair, Mark Gorenberg
Dear Dr. Kornbluth and Mr. Gorenberg,
The US House of Representatives is deeply concerned by ongoing and pervasive acts of antisemitic
harassment and intimidation at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Failing to act decisively to ensure a safe learning environment for all students would be a grave dereliction of your responsibilities as President of MIT and Chair of the MIT Corporation.
This Congress will not stand idly by and allow an environment hostile to Jewish students to persist. The House believes that your institution is in violation of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, and the inability or
unwillingness to rectify this violation through action requires accountability.
Postsecondary education is a unique opportunity for students to learn and have their ideas and beliefs challenged. However, universities receiving hundreds of millions of federal funds annually have denied
students that opportunity and have been hijacked to become venues for the promotion of terrorism, antisemitic harassment and intimidation, unlawful encampments, and in some cases, assaults and riots.
The House of Representatives will not countenance the use of federal funds to indoctrinate students into hateful, antisemitic, anti-American supporters of terrorism. Investigations into campus antisemitism by the Committee on Education and the Workforce and the Committee on Ways and Means have been expanded into a Congress-wide probe across all relevant jurisdictions to address this national crisis. The undersigned Committees will conduct oversight into the use of federal funds at MIT and its learning environment under authorities granted to each Committee.
• The Committee on Education and the Workforce has been investigating your institution since December 7, 2023. The Committee has broad jurisdiction over postsecondary education, including its compliance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, campus safety concerns over disruptions to the learning environment, and the awarding of federal student aid under the Higher Education Act.
• The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is investigating the sources of funding and other support flowing to groups espousing pro-Hamas propaganda and engaged in antisemitic harassment and intimidation of students. The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is the principal oversight committee of the US House of Representatives and has broad authority to investigate “any matter” at “any time” under House Rule X.
• The Committee on Ways and Means has been investigating several universities since November 15, 2023, when the Committee held a hearing entitled From Ivory Towers to Dark Corners: Investigating the Nexus Between Antisemitism, Tax-Exempt Universities, and Terror Financing. The Committee followed the hearing with letters to those institutions on January 10, 202

History: mixed-use neighborhoods common during and prior to the first quarter of the 20th century. New
Pedestrianism borrows and then expands upon earlier experiments in urban design that focused on separating
pedestrians from vehicular traffic.
•Urban planners Ebenezer Howard and Sir Patrick Geddes were an earlier influence on the design of Radburn, New

the rear on cul-de-sacs that protruded into large multi-use blocks

•By eliminating the front street and replacing it with a tree-lined pedestrian lane, emphasis
is placed on low-impact alternative travel such as walking and cycling
•Pedestrian lanes are usually 12 to 15 feet (5 m) wide, with one smooth side for rolling
conveyances such as bicycles, segways, and skates and the other, narrower, textured side for
pedestrians and wheelchairs

influenced by documents of US Association of State Highway Transportation Officials ‘A

for Iskandar Malaysia was documented because of following reasons:
• To prepare the design road layout especially for urban context area.
• To consider safety of citizens and sustainable ecology.
• To create economically vibrant commercial areas and liveable neighbourhoods.
• To consider land use context within Iskandar Malaysia area.
There are two factors performed as a basic for the design concept which need to be considered to provide

a. Land Use Context.

Because of the lack of pedestrian-friendly
