The Healthcare System And Samaritan Health System
Introduction Banner Health is considered one of the nations largest secular, non profit health care
organization operating 29 acute care facilities in seven western states (Kash, 2016). It is known and
recognized nationally. It unites with Lutheran Health System and Samaritan Health System which
started in 1991 with the mission of making differences in people s lives such as rendering perfect
patient care. This exellent mission of health care earned them good standing that help the

A Discussion Of Keynesian Economics
One type of economic belief is called Keynesian economics. This belief or theory is in favor of
total spending in the economy. It also agrees with total spending output and inflation, prices of
goods rising consistently. This form of economics was developed in the 1930 s by a economist,
John Maynard Keynes, in hopes of gaining a better understanding of the Great Depression. Keynes
was for more government spending and lower taxes that would possibly pull the U.S. out of the
depression. Basically, this gave hope that America s government could get out of its low production
time by stabilizing goods. Before the idea of Keynesian economics, people believed that the
fluctuations in the output of manufactures would handle itself. The flaw in this... Show more content

Before the depression when economics was at a low they would soon rise again in fluctuation. The
depression put an end t this because there was such a shortage of jobs. This made Keynes start to
think about how to help people and handle economy in a real crisis. The thought that life as
people knew it was never going to return causing a boom and bust system. Keynes suggestion
about this was that when the government was going good they should raise taxes and spend less
money, and when they were in a bust they should lower taxes to retain money to the people.
Keynes did not just expect the government to cycle money, but for the people to as well. He
thought that unless you were putting money back for the future that you should keep your money
cycling in the economic system. One of the biggest factors that had a part in Keynes style of
economics was something called multiplier effect (which is essentially banks making money from
lending money). He was strong in the belief that if the government spent and invested, then they
would make more money. If people were willing to spend their money as well then, the PD would
eventually begin to

African American Youth Research
Travis, R., Leech, T. J. (2014). Empowerment based positive youth development: A new
understanding of healthy development for African American youth. Journal Of Research On
Adolescence (Wiley Blackwell), 24(1), 93 116. doi:10.1111/jora.12062
Description
Researchers have been begun to emphasize how young individuals use their personal strengths and
abilities to persevere through difficult situations and create a more positive outcome for themselves.
However, current research connecting this strengths based approach to African Americanyouth
development is very scarce. Past descriptions of African American males and females in academia
have been extremely negative. The goal of this article is to use this positive, strengths based

First, I would implement trauma and diversity trainings for all educators and staff members in
schools that focus on how trauma experiences can impact an individual s emotional and behavioral
development and their ability to succeed academically and in other settings. The diversity portion
of this training would focus on the cultural differences that are experienced by individuals of
different races and ethnicities because it is important to be culturally sensitive, especially when
teaching young minority individuals. Secondly, my practicum placement is in OKC public schools
and the school social workers in the district serve very high need populations and many individuals
have a negative connotation of the students who attend these schools. I will work to change the
negative dialogue that surrounds these schools to a positive one, so that the individuals who are
guiding these children through the school system will not continue to lower their expectations of
these students and negatively impact their educational experience. I will do this by only focusing
on the student s strengths when conversing with teachers and principals. Thirdly, I would advocate
for schools to make it a part of their curriculum to allow students to explore their heritages in the
hopes of helping students create positive ethnic identities, which has been linked to positive
outcomes for

Rhetorical Analysis Of The Film Thank You For Smoking
Thank you for Smoking
Introduction
The film Thank you for Smoking is a dark comedy where the primary protagonist, Nick Naylor is
a lobbyist. He talks for the cigarette industry and will not extra the American Authorities or even
the press. At the in advance, the film prominently tackles all these topics but deep down it also
portrays the partnership between a dad and a son.
Rhetorical and arguments analysis
In a single conversation between a father and a son, Naylor coaches his son Joey by telling him
the beauty of argument: if you argue correctly, you re never wrong . This depicts a framework of
Nick s personality and probably explains the reason why as to the reasons he will not lose quarrels.
It is because he reframes the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I think that we are in need of freedom . This shows the fallacy of red herring. In this type of
rhetorical strategy, the emphasis is shifted from the primary concern for an unrelated or tangential
concern to earn a disagreement.
In another debate Naylor uses the red herring fallacy. That is explicated when he s asked to
testify before the senatorial committee. He says Gentlemen, it s called education ... It s the job
of each mother or father to alert their children of all risks in the world, including smokes, so that
1 day when they grow older they can decide for themselves. Here again, Nick waves from the
central subject of cigarettes compared to that of parental responsibility, freedom and education. He
s well aware that People in america love their freedom and therefore takes on with these words to
regulate their feelings.
Naylor also uses the faulty analogy fallacy in the senatorial committee conference. He compares the
Conglomerated Cigarette s cigarette financing with the financing for the senate s marketing
campaign contributions. The advertisement hominem fallacy is utilized by Naylor when he
suggests placing indicators on certain products like Vermont cheddarcheese, aeroplanes and cars.
The red herring fallacy is again used when Naylor highlights the unwanted effects of Vermont
cheddar cheese on increasing cholesterol levels. Actually, Senator Lothridge must interrupt to
recreate Naylor and Senator Finisterre back

the show are based on real life war veterans and the plot is based on their stories. The characters

Framing Research Paper
Did you know without framing every house and buildings wouldn t be where they re standing
right now? Framing holds every single thing on every building. It s really important to have a
strong base for a house if not it will collapse. Framing has been used since the early 1830s, they
still use man power but some technologies evolved. Framing is one of the biggest fields in
construction, so it has work all year round. It also has a good employment rate. This job can be
good for high schoolers when they leave schoolbecause you learn on the job, teens can make good
money if they start in this construction field. Framing was invented in the 1830s by using

Physical strength is useful for this job because many workers need to be able to carry fifty pounds
or more every day. Also being able to work in harsh weather conditions will be a must if workers
are employed. Education isn t too much it s know is simple math and angles. Math skill is a main
skill to have because they have to measure wood and cut an a angle. A great class to learn how to
measure and cut wood is wood shop. This class will show the basics on cutting wood. But overall
going to college isn t required in framing. But unless a skilled worker leaves his company and go
makes his own business a business degree would be great to have. Framing construction workers
make twelve dollars an hour starting without experience. But framing is great for beginners
because they learn all they need while working. Being little more experienced worker he or she
can make fifteen dollars an hour. The overall annual wage ranges from $23,000 to $30,000 just
being an employee. Being a contractor in framing your annual wage would range from $40,000 to
$60,000. But contractors can make more money if they increase their speed on framing houses and

Seating Structure Design and Active Classroom...
Seating Structure Design and Active Classroom Participation of College Students Mildred S.
Ruedas Most settings of classrooms we see in the Philippines or observed even in our own
schools and universities are almost similar with each other. Specifically concerning the seating
style. Very few from our teachers or professors are changing the style of the seats like instead of
using the Row Style in teaching, change it to Semi circle style. The researcher also noticed that
with the traditional kind of setting in seating arrangement, we hear teachers say, People from the

The active performance of the students can be seen during recitations, asking questions and
participation in class activities. The researcher decided to stick with the variable, recitation of the
students. When a child is active in his or her performance, it is possible that he or she learned a lot
and gets more knowledge. As for the researcher s opinion, seating arrangement is not for a shallow
reason of controlling the students because after all, inside the classroom, there is always an
authority and that is the teacher and authority should be followed for they set order for the better. In
case of a classroom, seating arrangement is a concern for the teachers in order to prevent and lessen
constraints brought by the students that could affect the attention of both the teacher and the
classmates and much worse the learning process that could affect the active participation of the
students. Still, the majority s advantage is being seen. The researcher aims to know the effects of U
style seating arrangement to active participation in terms of first, question and answer portion
between the teacher and students, second, sharing of ideas of the students and lastly, lessening of
disruptive behavior in the class. Also, the researcher wants to know the effects of Row style seating
arrangement to active participation in terms of first, question and answer portion between the

Pedophilia and Ideas to Prosecute Offenders
Debate
Pedophiles molest young children, some of them either kill children after abuse or cripple them
psychologically. Hence this house will execute Adult Pedophiles. However, when Pedophiles are
non adults, below 17 years of age, how should they be penalized? They should not be given a free
hand to destroy the core values of a society. No matter what age group they belong to the sex
offenders should be executed with some serious penalties.
The age barrier on most occasions comes in the way of the execution of the teenagers who involve
themselves in different kinds of sex offense. The problem is if teenage pedophiles are not punished
they would do the same crime again and again.
Here I would present some of the arguments that would strengthen my case.
Solvency.1 Civil commitments
First up, Pedophiles according to many psychologists and psychiatrists are the problem children.
They do not grow normally like other normal kids. Either they bear some domestic violence at
home or they have been victims of sexual abuse themselves at a very young age.
This justification for the sinful acts of the pedophiles might not be enough. A pedophile must get
the necessary punishment according to the laws. If this does not happen then society can be in a
chaotic situation.
The teenage pedophile should not be executed. Instead this house would enforce penalty in the form
of monitored psychological treatment.
Secondly, the teenage Pedophiles should be made to perform some civil commitments.

Old Spice Masculinity
On the notion of Masculinity in The Man Your Man Could Smell Like
Old Spice s 2010 Commercial The Man Your Man Could Smell Like paints a truly unique image
of masculinity. On the one hand, the ad s uninterrupted shot and the actor s nonchalant demeanor
and wit leave us in awe. On the other hand, though, it also begs its viewers to sit back and reflect:
Wait...what did I just see? The ad markets Old Spice deodorants to female as well as male
audiences by directly associating them with the idea of hyper masculinity, insinuating that men who
use Old Spice deodorants possess the capability to accomplish virtually anything. For instance, the
Old Spice Man is depicted on a boat, possessing diamonds, and riding a horse (Old Spice). While

One can arguably claim that the expedients through which masculinity is portrayed in the video the
possession of diamonds, an abundance of wealth, an attractive physique are perhaps some of the
extreme yet most commonly cited characteristics of masculinity in society. They are the set of
actions with which we associate masculinity. Thus, the ad seems to capitalize upon these
characteristics in its depiction of masculinity: the Old Spice Man is well endowed with all of these
characteristics he is the alpha male. However, the ad targets only a few ideas associated with
masculinity, thus essentializing its performance of masculinity to merely a set of certain hyper
masculine characteristics. This enables us to see the essentially performative nature of masculinity,
and explains the ad s ridiculous simplification of

Richard Louv s Last Child On The Woods ( 2008 )
The twenty first century comprises fast improving technology that alters people s lives. The world
adapts to technological use as the standard way of life, and those who do not apply it are
considered out of touch. Society has become too reliant on their smartphones, televisions, and video
games that people are delusional about the world around them and tend to go outside less and stay
inside more, hiding from humanity. Statistics say that technologykeeps friends, family, and co
workers in touch, but it does not keep them in touch with nature. Today, civilians are separated
from reality by new advancements that are supposed to enhance people s lives for the greater
good, although all of these new advancements create a predicament, a predicament that keeps
humanity from reality. The passage, Last Child in the Woods (2008), by Richard Louv discusses
how children of this centenary are developing a dependence on technology. These children are
vulnerable to the brutality of reality because they are not instructed how to survive outside of
their environmentally friendly homes and their electronically engineered cars. They grow up
knowing what a billboard looks like for various advertisements and to know how to work an
iPhone at the age of four. Children are isolated by these new creations and are manipulated into the
world of technology. All they see is an artificial world of consumerism. Richard Louv writes that:
Advertisers already stamp their messages into the wet

The Protagonist in Sister Carrie by Theodore Dreiser
The picture of the protagonist that Theodore Dreiser s novel, Sister Carrie, portrays is only a
half truth. By examining Sister Carrie s character, she is readily deemed as passive, weak, and
full of superficial desires and yet in this profoundly inert nature lies the seed for the greater
expression of an artistic soul. However, this realization is only drawn out by Ames s archetypically
scholarly eyes (the intelligent but withdrawn engineer); bringing forth the powerful and intimate
beauty that Carrie possesses, which without a photograph, the reader would forever remain blind
to. Nevertheless, as Ames draws out the riches of Carrie s humanity, he delineates yet another ideal,
the ideal of the artist, which lies far away from the comfort... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Moreover, this attraction simply overrides Carrie s struggling conscience, which would appear
only when the pleasant side was not too apparent, when Drouet was not there, leaving her a victim
of the city s hypnotic influence (p75, 65). Furthermore, Carrie s affection for the superior
Hurstwood, who with his style and easy manners, represents yet another higher stratum and thus
misleads her emotions and smoothly sways her unreasoning mind since there was so much
enthusiasm engendered that she was believing herself deeply in love. She sighed as she thought
of her handsome adorer ... they would be happy (p163). This self delusion is fully exposed when
her relationship with Hurstwood is brought into sudden question. She hangs in quandary, balancing
between indecision and helplessness until finally Hurstwood s passion for her renewing youth and
freshness re conquers her (p218). Ultimately, Carrie s own goals in life remain so vague that she
cannot act upon them, even when the fundamental security and position in her life is brought
under threat. This passivity typifies her even as she is stuck in the gloomy and decaying marriage
with Hurstwood for three years, where being of a passive and receptive nature rather than an active
and aggressive nature, Carrie

Analysis of a Memorable Scene from Saving Private Ryan
MEMORABLE SCENE IN SAVING PRIVATE RYAN The epic 1998 war movie Saving Private
Ryan opens in the present day with an elderly World War II veteran accompanied by his family
visiting the Normandy American Cemetery and Memorial at Colleville sur mer in Normandy,
France, site of the infamous D Day landings by the Allies in Nazi occupied France on June 4,
1944 that precipitated the end of Nazi occupation in Europe and the end of the war. As he
approaches the tomb stones he begins walking faster, separating from his family behind him and
he collapses in tears at the foot of one grave in particular, that of Captain John H. Miller. The
screen then dissolves and transitions to the horrendous scenes of human carnage on Omaha
Beach on Normandy on June 4, 1944 seen through the eyes of Captain Miller. The final scene of
the movie was especially memorable because of the way that it tied together the memories of the
elderly veteran with the heroism and human tragedy that took place on the same beaches and that
he witnessed and experienced personally inland. As the story unfolds, Miller is assigned the task
of leading a squad of U.S. soldiers through occupied territories far ahead of the Allied advance into
France with a specific mission directly from General George C. Marshall at the War Department in
Washington, DC. Marshall had learned that three brothers from a single family had recently been
killed in the war and that one remaining brother was unaccounted for in France. Pursuant

Tybalt Capulet Quotes
In Shakespeare s most famous play, Romeo and Juliet, the character Tybalt Capulet comes across
as a belligerent and cocky however loyal young man. Tybalt is the nephew of Lady Capulet and is
Juliet s cousin. Although he only appears for a few times throughout the play, Tybalt is a critical
characters that propels the plot forward with his unlikable, extreme actions.
Tybalt first emerges in Act 1 Scene 1, at a bickering between his fellow kinsman and their enemy
the Montagues. As opposed to Benvolio Montague who tries to defuse the conflict, Tybalt is quick
to draw his sword and challenge Benvolio into a fight. His hostility is clear through his words and
actions, as shown in the dialogues What, art thou drawn upon these heartless hinds? Turn thee,
Benvolio, look upon thy death ... What, drawn, and talk of peace! I hate the word as I hate hell, all
Montagues and thee. Have at thee, coward! (I.i.64 70). Tybalt... Show more content on

my kin, to strike him dead I hold it not a sin. (I.iv.54 59). It is clear that Tybalt takes the deep
dispute between two families more serious than any other characters in the play. His willingness
to risk his life to defence the Capulet s honour is clear when he declares by the stock and honour

Becoming An Effective Writer
Every good writer needs a solid foundation to be successful. This is true for both professional and
informal communication. Your level of education is reflected in your writing style. If it contains
many grammatical errors and lacks structure it can be perceived that you are not a very good
writer. For years, I thought I didn t need any formal education. That was a big mistake that is now
in the process of being corrected. This course has started to help me communicate more efficiently
as a business professional and be more effective in my academic studies. Knowing the writing
process and carefully developing good writing habits are critical for growth as a writer. Over the

In the past I would just write without using a rough draft or any prewriting process. I have
benefited greatly by employing the freewriting process in my assignments. A method that I find
especially helpful came from a handout for UNC Chapel hill. Here is how the process of
freewriting was described; When you free write, you can set a time limit and just write until you
reach that goal. You might do this on the computer or on paper, and you can even try it with
your eyes shut or the monitor off, which encourages speed and freedom of thought. The crucial
point is that you keep on writing even if you believe you are saying nothing. Word must follow
word, no matter the relevance. (The writing center) The key is take the extra time to plan and
review your writing. This has helped me to focus on using proper comma placement and
eliminate grammatical errors. Whether I am posting something on social media or writing on the
discussion board I have a better understanding of what my sentences should look like. Writing
can be difficult at times but when you use the right methods and processes it enhances the overall
experience. I had to write a resume for a job posting the other day and I immediately thought back
to this course as I edited and revised my essay. Using proper sentence stress and writing with
meaningful words was key to my resume. It is the simple forms of writing that can be

Society Vs Savagery In Lord Of The Flies By William Golding
Lord of the Flies Process Paper
What s the thing holding society back from anarchy and chaos? The novel Lord of The Flies
written by William Golding introduces the topic of society versus savagery and how humans
naturally drive towards the latter. Social constructs are the foundation of which savagery is
contained. The theme of Lord of the Flies is that all forms of civilization have a constant never
ending drive towards savagery. Golding conveys this with his use of characters, setting, and
symbolism throughout the novel.
The author uses his character s relationships and internal struggles to convey the theme. Ralph s
agenda of keeping the group together and lighting a signal fire shows that he is a civilized leader
who is also challenged by Jack, a savage unleashed. The boys play a game after a hunt where
Robert is hunted down as the pig Ralph too was fighting to get near, to get a handful of that
brown vulnerable flesh gnawing at Robert and poking him with their spears (Golding 114). The
imagery of Ralph attempting to reach for Robert is peculiar to his behavior as he s always been
civilized throughout the novel. The word vulnerable implies that Ralph is a predator and Robert
is prey waiting to be struck down. This behavior is the innate savagery trying to free itself, caged
within Ralph s civilized brain. Robert struggles to break free from the hunter s grasps when Ralph
mumbles haltingly, Just a game... I got jolly hurt at rugger once (Golding 115). He catches his

Basic Legal Contract Principles For A Contract
The above scenario is difficult to analyse due to there being no executed contract documentation
to review such as a specification or terms and conditions to base a recommendation upon. Basic
legal contract principles should therefore be applied to establish if a contract was in place, if it
had been breached, along with potential remedies applied to each party. To identify if there was a
breach of contract between John (the client) and Chris (the Contractor) it is key to establish if
there was a legally binding contract in place. In order for a contract to be deemed legally binding ,
it must abide by three key elements which are offer, consideration and acceptance. The sum of
ВЈ6,000 was offered for the service and subsequently agreed consideration completed by Chris
whom accepted. With the capacity of both directors, including intent from both parties to carry out
their promise, a contract was formed. As part of the contract negotiations ВЈ1,000 was paid in
advance to Chris, without any identified agreed terms and conditions. Advanced payments in
contracts such as these are typically used to purchase the materials required to undertake the work.
It is to be assumed that the ВЈ1,000 advanced payment was used to purchase the paint required to
carry out the works. The remaining ВЈ5,000 was due to Chris once the works were completed to a
satisfactory level. When agreeing to the terms of the contract, John clearly sets a requirement of the
works being satisfactory. The

Marxism and the Matrix Essay
The movie, The Matrix is an outstanding example of the term Marxism . Simply put, Marxism
is the political and economic theory of Marx, advocating abolition of private property, and state
provision of work and subsistence for all, and to be a Marxist, is to follow Karl Marx s theories.
Along the lines of Marx s theories; a reality and way of life in the Matrix is maintained,
oppressed, discovered, and eventually explained. Marx advocates a violent change, and The
Matrix demonstrates this type of propaganda. The character Trinity sets the tone from the very
start with her defying antics, and Neo s role is realized; as this reality that is the Matrix is

People have themselves become that means of production, in that their bodies have become the
energy source that keeps the economic machine running. Neo is informed by one of the rebels
that he is nothing more than a coppertop , a battery that runs the system. But he also finds hope,
because the rebels are fighting back and, as Marx had hoped, the grave diggers are going to try
to destroy the capitalistic machines. Life in the Matrix is not quite the Utopia Marx envisioned.
And we discover this by observing Mr. Anderson s daily grind, as he follows the daily routine of
a dead end job. This is not an ideal life for any man. One would want to escape, question, and
break free of this routine that is his life . As the plot of The Matrix advances, this reality is
explained. Neo eventually wakes up, and witnesses the truth a world controlled, by machines. As
he awakens to a dark desolate world, towers taller than sky scrapers surround him, loaded with
humans in a cocooned state. Machines monitor these sleeping humans who are unaware of the
truth. One of these machines quickly scans Neo, and realizes things aren t quite right with him,

Modern Revival Of The Cornett
The cornetto is a wooden wind instrument widely used throughout Europe from the 15th through
the 17th centuries. It s also called the cornett, which is not to be confused with the trumpet like
instrument called the cornet. A hybrid between a woodwind (like the recorder) and a brass
instrument (like the trumpet), it was a long and slender tube, curved to one side, and had open finger
holes. Sound was produced by blowing into a cup shaped mouthpiece, like that of the trumpet. The
combination of the mouthpiece and finger holes results in difficulties of intonation (pitch) and
embouchure (mouth positions). Once mastered, it s extremely agile and has a range of dynamics
and expressions that span between brassy trumpet sounds to incredibly sweet... Show more content

According to the classification system of Hornbostel and Sachs, they are classified as trumpets
with finger holes . They flourished mainly in the sixteenth and early seventeenth centuries, but
began a decline in popularity from the second half of the seventeenth; from 1700 onwards their use
fell off dramatically, even though in some parts of Europe they persisted until the early 1800s.
Their modern revival dates only from the second half of the twentieth century; performers such as
Otto Steinkopf in Germany and Christopher Monk in England were among the first to play cornetts
in public in the 1950s.
Whereas most renaissance and baroque instruments have direct descendants or analogues (for
example, modern trombones and sackbuts, modern and baroque violins, etc.), this is not true for
cornetts; no mainstream modern instrument combines a lip vibrated mouthpiece with woodwind
style fingering, and this lack of any kind of continuous performing tradition necessitated a re
invention of both their playing technique and usage. Cornetts are usually considered to be difficult
to play well, but performance standards have improved dramatically over the last fifty years or so.
If ever an instrument belonged to the lower strata of society, the cornett did. They were the poor
white trash among musical instruments. Not only were they cheaply made, but they were noted for
their poverty of musical qualities. Constructed of wood and covered with

critical issue if had been identified early on in the project could have made matters better. Though
the steering committee was created to solve the issues related to IAA implementation and the
estimation of cost and resources, the steering committee was successful in pin pointing the issues
but not addressing the issues. The steering committee was formed to address the issues faced by
the project, it was unable to exercise its role due to the absence of clear information, technical
nature of the debates made it harder for the steering committee to engage, lack of clarity with the
hierarchical structure of power made it all the more difficult to address the issues.
Lack of project management clarity: the planning activity had lot of material but lacked content,
clear action items and lack of consensus on the milestones. The difficulties in the project only
increased with time and a more performance driven style would have kept things on track if

The lesser factors were that the contract did not have comprehensive risk transfer from NU to
IBM, making it important for the project to work for NU, in turn reducing the performance levels
of IBM. There was lack of involvement from NU with IBM prior to the finalization of the contract
to understand the milestones IBM had in mind and the feasibility of the methodologies followed by

Canada in a Youth Suicide Crisis Situation Essay
Canada in a Youth Suicide Crisis Situation
The idea of youth committing suicide mystifies our societal logic. We do not understand the reasons
why youth normally associated with energy, determination and possibilities turn to such a final act
as a solution. Suicide eventually enters all of our lives, either directly or indirectly. However, the
situation becomes more cruel and unfair when a youth commits suicide. We can not help but think
of the opportunities and potential lost so swiftly for one so young. Although adolescent suicide is
a current crisis in today s Canadian society, youth for all of history and in all cultures have
resorted to this ultimate form of self destruction. Clearly we have and always have had, a teenage ...

It is therefore important to look to sociology for answers concerning suicide and suicide prevention.
Sociological theories of suicide emphasize the role that society and culture play in this kind of self
destructive behaviour. Such theories generally focus on either social structures or social situations.
The first sociologist to theorize on suicide and its sociological interpretations was Emile
Durkheim. Durkheim worked during the late 1800 s identifying social structures as the key
determinant in self destructive behaviour. In his work Suicide: A study in Sociology, Durkheim
stated that suicide rates increase when a society s value system breaks down. 2 Durkheim believed
that the shared values of a society and the mechanisms in place that ensure that its members adhere
to these values, is interpreted as a person s social structure. Durkheim suggested two basic factors
in social structure that heavily influence the incidence of suicide. These are regulation and
integration. He believed that an individual needs to become part of, and find direction in his own
society. Without these factors in place, suicide becomes a common substitute. Teens are often
anxious about fitting in to their society (especially among peer groups) so it is clear that
integration is essential to adolescence. Durkheim also suggested that it is these two factors

Video Games Call Of Duty
One of the biggest controversial cases among parents and children is, whether to allow them to
play violent video games. Many people often assume that these intense games have a direct
correlation to becoming a violent person. While many people agree with this, the research is not
100% accurate. This makes it very hard to find proof that a violent video gameis one of the leading
causes of a violent person. We are often blaming these games for a more internal complex problem.
One of the leading video games Call Of Duty focuses on killing people in order to win the game.
This game has over 40 million users and is the most successful franchise in all of history. In my
opinion what is the fun of theoretically killing virtual people? I do not think kids should be
subjective to watching this violence at a young age. These games should be geared for adults more
than children. When the child is held at the age of accountability they can then decide what games
are good for them.
When a shooting happens many people are looking for reasons as to why it happened, many times
they automatically assumed that person played violent video games. Conservatives start to raise
their opinion when things in American go awry. Republican Donald Trump tweeted on Twitter:
Video game violence glorification must be stopped it s creating monsters! In hopes to end the video
games that correlate to violence the government plans to take action. The state Rep. of Missouri,

The name of London came from the Celtic word Londinios, which means the place of the bold one

Christianity was introduced to the city, but some inhabitants were starting to leave from the city
because they did not wanted to be part of this religion ( Cody). Although this was the beginning of

Student Competency Essay
The years prior to kindergarten heavily impact one s future and their overall academic literacy.
School readiness, a multidimensional concept, possess the ability to convey advantages in
academic success in school. Children that prematurely attend school have shown more success in
development of early skills in math and reading. These individuals tend to show superior academic
success, attain higher levels of education, and have a higher chance of securing employment (1).
One s ability to identify letters, execute abstract and logical reasoning, and perform fine motor
skills these factors support the claim that early exposure to academic material increases the
likeliness of competency. In recent years, the number of young children attaining adequate literacy
through early childhoodexposure has increased overwhelmingly. During the beginning years of a
child s life, regarding socioeconomic status, ethnicity, or religion, these factors determine a child s
success in attaining academic competency.
Children who live in poverty stricken countries tend to perform inferior to that of children in middle
class households. Over 71% of Euro American children performed at a higher grade level compared
to African American children. This gap of performance follows the affected child throughout their
educational career and may cause a deficit in the number of students graduating high school and
postsecondary educational institutions (4). Even if a poverty stricken child graduated, many

Tupac Dear Mama Essay
From the day you are born your parents have supported, guided and loved you. We take our
parents unconditional love and support for granted in our busy every day lives. We forget to show

The rapper s music often displayed his stark contradictions, setting misogyny against praise of
strong women, hard won wisdom against the violence of the thug life (Biography). The song Dear

Review of Article on Arsenic Crisis in Bangladesh
Summary: The people of Bangladesh were dying and getting ill from water. This water was
provided through tube wells that were connected to an underground aquifer. Such actions were
taken on the 1980 s, when many children died from diarrhea. This project facilitated the lives of
many since their people did not have to walk long distances and carry heavy jars full of water.
Unfortunately, the water was not checked for arsenic. A dermatologist believed the water from
the tube wells contained arsenic but the British Geological Survey insisted it was safe. Today the
tubewells are known to have 50 micrograms of arsenic per liter. The article also explains some of
the symptoms that could be experienced after 10 years of consuming arsenic contaminated water,
these include: black spots, conjunctivitis, bronchitis, diarrhea, etc. The Bangladesh government
borrowed money but has not yet taken action since they do not know how to solve this issue. The
Bangladesh Rural Advancement Committee trained 160 volunteers to test the tubewells and
identify the symptoms of arsenicosis. Many of their volunteers also made maps to inform people
of safe tubewells and ponds. 1. What was the purpose or point in writing this article? This article

Companies try to align their products and services according to market conditions and
segmentation. The two approaches which are used by most of the companies are either market
oriented or product oriented. It can be added here that market approach is more focused for how the
products should be introduced to the market. It s about how the products and services are being
portrayed and advertised in order to attract the consumers. Product orientation, on the other hand, is
focused on methods through which products are bettered for the consumers. The system and
research which can be utilized to help improve the product are used in the process. Both the
approaches are significant in their own unique way. It s important to understand the significance of
market segmentation and hence, extensive research is required. Since the market has gotten
competitive, range and preference is also observed. For product orientation, technological and
safety factors are some important elements used (Osarenkhoe, 2008). This is done to help
consumers enjoy the products in a way that s not offered before. That, by introducing new features

The Debate On The Issue Of Poverty
JUDGEMENT FRAMEWORK
Poverty is a complex issue that has always been around, but has been a growing concern over
time. Holding a debate on the issue of poverty, is one that can easily go awry due to it s
complexity and emotional aspects. In order to evaluate the debate, both teams need to fully
understand the proposal and clearly articulate their stance.
The debate teams need to be able to clearly explain their position, refute the opponent s argument,
provide solutions, provide a stimulating counter examination, and effectively answer questions
from the judges. Other logistical aspects of the debate that will be judged on is the ability to
efficiently use time and allocate it between team members, as well as refraining from interrupting
other debates and keeping an appropriate volume and demeanor.
There are various general questions that will be utilized in my evaluation of the debate. Did the
teams address what poverty is, how people become poor and remain poor, explain why it s the
individual or society s fault, why we haven t been able to dramatically keep poverty low, why
current efforts are not working, and what new solutions should be utilized?
I expect both teams to utilize support for their arguments from outside sources and from the
readings. My general expectations for the arguments by both teams is to not only clearly explain
their proposed arguments, but to also

The Great Schism Analysis
Amelia Kasgorgis
Ms. Argue
Mission
March, 10 2015
The Great Schism The Great Schism of 1378 was caused when the papal court, which was based
in Rome, elected an Italian Pope named Pope Urban VI. The French cardinals refused to accept the
Italian Pope so they announced that his election was invalid and elected a new Pope, Pope Clement
VII. Urban VI began to show absence in self control when he criticized the cardinals for their
luxury and laziness and when he revealed his plan of reforming the Church. Urban VI s violent and
abusive treatment towards the cardinals caused them to fear for their lives and believe he was
mentally ill; this lead to the turn against the cardinals to abandon Rome. At Anagni on August 2 the
dissidents published a manifesto in which they pronounced his election null and void, on the
ground that pressure from the Romans had made a free election impossible (Great Western
Schism). When they took away the position as Pope from Urban they elected his rival which was
Clement VII. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

end the schism On March 28, 1409. Neither Pope showed up at this council meeting where they

As the coach, Shanahan is expected to make decisions and do what needs to be done in order to
win games. Decisions such as when to pull a player off the field and replace him with someone
else definitely fall into this category. As a starting quarterback McNabb is suppose to be
capable of doing what needs to be done in order to win games such things would include being in
shape, knowing the teams plays and being capable to execute plays that you are given. This may
also include wearing an arm band with plays listed on them so if you have questions of which
plays are called you can check them for accuracy. McNabb had been brought to the Redskins so
they would have a chance as a winning team.

Anzac Legend Analysis
The Anzac spirit was born on the twenty fifth of April 1915, when Australian soldiers landed upon
the shores of Gallipoli to serve their country for the first time. Each year Australians celebrate the
mateship, courage and heroism the Anzac soldiers showed during the Gallipoli campaign.
Although, people tend to depict these soldiers as victims of a catastrophic trauma, yet this
passionate sacrifice is what gave Australiaits name. Furthermore, word of discussion argues the
truth behind the accuracy of the Anzac Legend. Through the analysis of sources, it is demonstrated
that the Anzac Legend displays numerous inspirational characteristics. Thus, the Legend of
mateship, heroism and courage is an accurate representation of the fighting Australian and New
Zealand soldiers in world war one.
After the Anzac s landed in Gallipoli, they were in combat for approximately eight and a half
months. Throughout this long and tedious period of time the soldiers went through many traumatic
experiences. Although, looking into the face of death the soldiers were able to have a spirit of
mateship to make conditions bearable. They gave their lives for a supreme cause in gallant
comradeship with the rest of my soldiers who fought and died with them (Di, 2008). This source
explains that the soldiers put their fellow comrades before themselves as mateship prioritised by
them. Because of this the word mateship stands out today and inspires many Australians. Therefore,

Lessons from the Little Rock Nine Essay
Motivators and movers where would the world be without these people? It is these beings that
cause belief to become action and compel the masses to move through their example, sometimes
unknowingly. In 1957, nine young African Americans voluntarily chose to desegregate Little Rock
Central High and break free of the black white mold that society had made. Those young students
became known as the Little Rock Ninehated by those unlike them, terrorized by schoolmates and
even ostracized by their people. The moment these young African Americans enrolled into Central
High, they became warriors for equality facing the battlefield of racism. It was their determination
that facilitated breaking down the walls of segregation. The stand taken... Show more content on

The citizens of Little Rock were outraged that Negroes would soon be mingling with their
children. The day the court order was passed, Melba Patillo Beals was assaulted and nearly
raped by a adult white male who was so infuriated by the Supreme Court s decision (Beals, 1995).
Acts of violence and hostility became more frequent towards the Nine. Five days later the Little
Rock school board stated that they would integrate Central High, but not until September 1957.
Originally 17 students had planned to integrate Central High, but due to threats of violence eight
students backed down, adding additional anxiety to the remaining Nine. With the help of the
National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, plans for integrating Central High
were becoming reality. On September 4, Little Rock awoke to the Arkansas Democrat headline
which read, Armed Troops Turn Back Nine Negroes at Central High School ( Armed troops turn,
1957). The front page was spotted with images of the blockade of troops with Crowd Jeers at as
Negro Students Attempt to Enter Central High as the caption. The first attempt at integration had
caused an eruption of absolute turmoil in front of Little Rock Central High. Governor Orval Faubus
had commissioned the Arkansas National Guard and State Police to surround the high school,

Separation of Chlorophyll a, Chlorophyll B, and Beta...
Abstract
Pigments extracted from different greens have different polarities and may be different colors.
Mixed pigments can be separated using chromatography paper. Chromatography paper is able to
separate mixed pigments due to their polarity and solubility. Pigments of chlorophyll a, chlorophyll
b and beta carotene will be separated on chromatography paper because each has its own polarity
and solubility, which results in different distance traveled up the paper. Beta carotene is non polar
so it travels the highest distance, followed by chlorophyll a. Chlorophyll b is the most polar;
therefore, it travels the shortest distance. The separated pigments on the chromatography paper can

Industry profile
The growth of financial sector in India at present is nearly 8.5% per year. The rise in the growth
rate suggests the growth of the economy. The financial policies and the monetary policies are able
to sustain a stable growth rate.
The reforms pertaining to the monetary policies and the macroeconomic policies over the last few
years has influenced the Indian economy to the core. The major step towards opening up of the
financial market further was the nullification of the regulations restricting the growth of the

Essay on Augustus Caesar
Augustus Caesar
Gaius Julius Caesar Octavianus (Octavian as he was called until the adoption by
Caesar, later called Augustus Caesar) was born 23 September, 63 BC. Augustus was the grand
nephew of Julius Caesar and later became his heir after he learned that his grand uncle had adopted
him. Augustus Caesar was with out a doubt the greatest political leader in the Roman Empire. He
made Rome what think of it as and what we study today. Octavian s first public appearance was in
51 BC when he delivered his grandmother s eulogy. In 48 BC he started his political career when
he was elected to pontifical college. In 45 BC he went with Caesar to Spain and in 44 BC when
Caesar was killed he discovered he had been adopted by him. ... Show more content on

They fought a fierce naval battle with all sorts of ships. In
September Octavian had managed to blockade Antony and Cleopatra s ships. Attempting to break
free, Antony lost the battle but he and Cleopatra managed to flee the battle early and went to Egypt.
The next year Antony and Cleopatra committed suicide and Octavian annexed
Egypt as a province. Octavian was now in command of the entire Roman Empire.
Octavian knew that he needed to reform the government because the old way was not working
any longer. He managed to give land to 100,000 veterans and paid the original landowners
Egyptian money. He also formed a permanent army and navy which swore allegiance to him.
Octavian elected himself consul, but in 27 BC offered to lay down his powers, but the Senate
disapproved and urged him to continue. They awarded him the title of Augustus, which means
Exalted or Majestic One. From then on he was referred to as Augustus Caesar. Augustus also
became the tribune and received power for life and became the protector of the Roman people.
His backbone of his power was his army but he didn t keep the majority of his army in Italy
though for fear that generals and senators may ally and stage a revolt. Augustus had 28 legions
totaling approximately 400,000 men which he placed around the borders to keep barbaric warriors
from entering. In following years Augustus received many significant privileges and honors.

Sir Gawain And The Loathly Lady
The term noble is used to describe someone having or showing fine personal qualities or high
moral principles and ideals according to The Oxford English Dictionary. Sir Gawain of Sir Gawain
and the Loathly Lady , retold by Selina Hastings, is a courageous, loyal man who endures through
challenging times. Sir Gawains character is a combine fusion of these fine personal qualities
making him a noble knight. Sir Gawain has the ability to do something that frightens one proving
his courage. In the text, it states those who were not [married] prayed that the young man s
courage would not desert him (Hastings 2) demonstrating his lack of fear. His [Sir Gawain s] top
priority is to serve his king in which he is always the first to do so as Sir... Show more content on

Although everyone knew of Gawain s unhappy ending, Gawain persevered through the wedding
ceremony being as calm as he could as she stumbled through the great hall on the arm of Gawain
s ignoring the hideousness of his bride. Sir Gawain exhibits his calmness and enduring pain as
Gawain moved as though in a trance, and not all the jewels nor the fine velvet robe given her by
the Queen could disguise the hideousness of the bride as she stumbled through the great hall on
the arm of her husband (Hastings 3). Gawain knew that he would have to spend the rest of his
life with this woman so there would be no point hurting her even more than she is already by
others. Instead, in respect for the Loathly Lady as well as his king, Gawain politely took his
newly weeded wife to dance not minding her disgusting figure. Although no one had the heart to
dance, Sir Gawain still kindly directed the Loathly Lady as it states Then Gawain seemed to shake
himself awake, and gently leading his wife into the centre of the hall, he guided her through the
slow steps of a courtly measure (Hastings 3). Sir Gawain is enduring as he requests to dance with
her to be well mannered. To be enduring and experience such an unpleasant commotion only for his
king s honour demonstrates how great of a noble knight

Annotated Bibliography On Database Encryption
1. INTRODUCTION Database Encryption is one of the technique used for securing the data in
database. This method transforms information on a computer in such a way that it becomes
unreadable. So, even if someone is able to gain access to a computer with personal data on it,
they likely won t be able to do anything with the data unless they have original data key,
complicated or expensive software. The main function of encryption is essentially to translate
normal text into cipher text. Encryption makes sure that data doesn t get read by the wrong
people, but can also ensure that data isn t altered in transit, and verify the identity of the sender.
Data Encryption method typically uses a specified parameter or key to perform the data
transformation. Some encryption algorithms require the key to be the same length as the message
to be encoded, yet other encryption algorithms can operate on much smaller keys relative to the
message. Encryption is most used among transactions over insecure channels of communication,
such as the internet. Encryption is also used to protect data being transferred between devices such
as mobile telephones, automatic teller machines (ATMs), and many more. Encryption can be used
to create digital signatures, which allow a message to be authenticated. When properly
implemented, a digital signature gives the recipient of a message reason to believe the message
was sent by the claimed sender. 2. THREATS TO DATABASE 2.1 Database Databases are the

Essay on My Definition of Success
In his poem, What is Success, Ralph Waldo Emerson gave priceless insight when he wrote: To
laugh often and much; To win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children; To
earn the appreciation of honest critics and endure the betrayal of false friends; To appreciate
beauty, to find the best in others; To leave the world a bit better, whether by a healthy child, a
garden patch or a redeemed social condition; To know even one life has breathed easier because
you have lived. This is to have succeeded. Emerson s quote provides a paradigm of success a
model to be admired and strived for. Emerson teaches that learning to appreciate the subtleties in life
can make it that much more enjoyable and interesting. In... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It s not surprising, then, that I want an exceptional career. And I m not special in that regard.
Most students share my goal. After several semesters being surrounded by smart, ambitious
Business School students, I ve noticed that there are striking differences in the ways people
define an exceptional career. And the way people define success can have a big impact, not only
on decisions about their first jobs, but also how much they achieve and happy they are in their
careers. As it is commonly used, the word success is sometimes synonymous with another word
winning. Success is beating the other guy and getting the big salary. Success is what happens
when other people think you re a success or when you can convince them of it. As a junior, I
attended a recruiting event for the Boston Consulting Group. Hardly ten words were out of the
BCG representative s mouth before he was compelled to announce that he was a partner at the
firm and that he d gotten his MBA at Harvard. He then delivered a presentation that was fixated
on his firm s corporate mantra: We re Winning. Some of my sharpest classmates ate it up. High
achievers who knew little about BCG Consulting before they entered the B School competed
intensely to land one of the select openings there. They aren t alone. I know of many students who
are competing for or

Create a Future State Value Stream
Map
Now that we have a better understanding of the current state of affairs, we are ready to draw a
picture of how we would like things to look in the future.
Typically, as an example, we aim to make things flow and reduce the amount of inventory or
waiting in between steps.
It s at this point that we can create an ideal work process.
Create an Action Plan
Now that we know how things are working today and how we would like to see them working in
the future it s time to form a plan.
There are a variety of templates available for this. We should know exactly what needs to happen
and when it needs to happen.
In short, we form the plan... then execute the plan!
VSM procedures
For making the improvements, some examples:
Use Work (Time, Motion, ..) studies to identify NVAs eliminate them
Modularisation / Standardisation
Design changes to improve Constructability
Off site fabrication and assembly
Reducing Batch size E.g., going in for multiple smaller batching plants in the site to enhance
flexibility in delivery of concrete mix.
Bringing closely interconnected operations (E.g. Formwork, reinforcement and concreting) under
supervision of one agency
Implementing pull system through Kanban Cards (E.g. Block work, formwork etc) for better
control on inventory management at the central storage yard, smooth logistics within site and for

The Buddha s Discourse on the Scripture of the Spell for Saving the Burning Mouth Hungry Ghost

be explained below, this event become so special because it helped Chinese people escape their
suffering and hungry that they would experience after they die by doing certain practice and chants

  • 3. A Discussion Of Keynesian Economics One type of economic belief is called Keynesian economics. This belief or theory is in favor of total spending in the economy. It also agrees with total spending output and inflation, prices of goods rising consistently. This form of economics was developed in the 1930 s by a economist, John Maynard Keynes, in hopes of gaining a better understanding of the Great Depression. Keynes was for more government spending and lower taxes that would possibly pull the U.S. out of the depression. Basically, this gave hope that America s government could get out of its low production time by stabilizing goods. Before the idea of Keynesian economics, people believed that the fluctuations in the output of manufactures would handle itself. The flaw in this... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Before the depression when economics was at a low they would soon rise again in fluctuation. The depression put an end t this because there was such a shortage of jobs. This made Keynes start to think about how to help people and handle economy in a real crisis. The thought that life as people knew it was never going to return causing a boom and bust system. Keynes suggestion about this was that when the government was going good they should raise taxes and spend less money, and when they were in a bust they should lower taxes to retain money to the people. Keynes did not just expect the government to cycle money, but for the people to as well. He thought that unless you were putting money back for the future that you should keep your money cycling in the economic system. One of the biggest factors that had a part in Keynes style of economics was something called multiplier effect (which is essentially banks making money from lending money). He was strong in the belief that if the government spent and invested, then they would make more money. If people were willing to spend their money as well then, the PD would eventually begin to ... Journal Of Research On Adolescence (Wiley Blackwell), 24(1), 93 116. doi:10.1111/jora.12062 Description Researchers have been begun to emphasize how young individuals use their personal strengths and abilities to persevere through difficult situations and create a more positive outcome for themselves. However, current research connecting this strengths based approach to African Americanyouth development is very scarce. First, I would implement trauma and diversity trainings for all educators and staff members in schools that focus on how trauma experiences can impact an individual s emotional and behavioral development and their ability to succeed academically and in other settings. The diversity portion of this training would focus on the cultural differences that are experienced by individuals of different races and ethnicities because it is important to be culturally sensitive, especially when teaching young minority individuals. Secondly, my practicum placement is in OKC public schools and the school social workers in the district serve very high need populations and many individuals have a negative connotation of the students who attend these schools. I will work to change the negative dialogue that surrounds these schools to a positive one, so that the individuals who are guiding these children through the school system will not continue to lower their expectations of these students and negatively impact their educational experience. I will do this by only focusing on the student s strengths when conversing with teachers and principals. Thirdly, I would advocate for schools to make it a part of their curriculum to allow students to explore their heritages in the hopes of helping students create positive ethnic identities, which has been linked to positive outcomes for ... Rhetorical Analysis Of The Film Thank You For Smoking Thank you for Smoking Introduction The film Thank you for Smoking is a dark comedy where the primary protagonist, Nick Naylor is a lobbyist. He talks for the cigarette industry and will not extra the American Authorities or even the press. At the in advance, the film prominently tackles all these topics but deep down it also portrays the partnership between a dad and a son. Rhetorical and arguments analysis In a single conversation between a father and a son, Naylor coaches his son Joey by telling him the beauty of argument: if you argue correctly, you re never wrong . This depicts a framework of Nick s personality and probably explains the reason why as to the reasons he will not lose quarrels. It is because he reframes the ... In this type of rhetorical strategy, the emphasis is shifted from the primary concern for an unrelated or tangential concern to earn a disagreement. In another debate Naylor uses the red herring fallacy. That is explicated when he s asked to testify before the senatorial committee. He says Gentlemen, it s called education ... It s the job of each mother or father to alert their children of all risks in the world, including smokes, so that 1 day when they grow older they can decide for themselves. Here again, Nick waves from the central subject of cigarettes compared to that of parental responsibility, freedom and education. He s well aware that People in america love their freedom and therefore takes on with these words to regulate their feelings. Naylor also uses the faulty analogy fallacy in the senatorial committee conference. He compares the Conglomerated Cigarette s cigarette financing with the financing for the senate s marketing campaign contributions. The advertisement hominem fallacy is utilized by Naylor when he suggests placing indicators on certain products like Vermont cheddarcheese, aeroplanes and cars. The red herring fallacy is again used when Naylor highlights the unwanted effects of Vermont cheddar cheese on increasing cholesterol levels. Ruedas Most settings of classrooms we see in the Philippines or observed even in our own schools and universities are almost similar with each other. Specifically concerning the seating style. Very few from our teachers or professors are changing the style of the seats like instead of using the Row Style in teaching, change it to Semi circle style. The researcher decided to stick with the variable, recitation of the students. When a child is active in his or her performance, it is possible that he or she learned a lot and gets more knowledge. As for the researcher s opinion, seating arrangement is not for a shallow reason of controlling the students because after all, inside the classroom, there is always an authority and that is the teacher and authority should be followed for they set order for the better. In case of a classroom, seating arrangement is a concern for the teachers in order to prevent and lessen constraints brought by the students that could affect the attention of both the teacher and the classmates and much worse the learning process that could affect the active participation of the students. Still, the majority s advantage is being seen. The researcher aims to know the effects of U style seating arrangement to active participation in terms of first, question and answer portion between the teacher and students, second, sharing of ideas of the students and lastly, lessening of disruptive behavior in the class. • 9. Pedophilia and Ideas to Prosecute Offenders Debate Pedophiles molest young children, some of them either kill children after abuse or cripple them psychologically. Hence this house will execute Adult Pedophiles. However, when Pedophiles are non adults, below 17 years of age, how should they be penalized? They should not be given a free hand to destroy the core values of a society. No matter what age group they belong to the sex offenders should be executed with some serious penalties. The age barrier on most occasions comes in the way of the execution of the teenagers who involve themselves in different kinds of sex offense. The problem is if teenage pedophiles are not punished they would do the same crime again and again. Here I would present some of the arguments that would strengthen my case. Solvency.1 Civil commitments First up, Pedophiles according to many psychologists and psychiatrists are the problem children. They do not grow normally like other normal kids. Either they bear some domestic violence at home or they have been victims of sexual abuse themselves at a very young age. This justification for the sinful acts of the pedophiles might not be enough. A pedophile must get the necessary punishment according to the laws. If this does not happen then society can be in a chaotic situation. The teenage pedophile should not be executed. Instead this house would enforce penalty in the form of monitored psychological treatment. Secondly, the teenage Pedophiles should be made to perform some civil commitments. ... • 10. Old Spice Masculinity On the notion of Masculinity in The Man Your Man Could Smell Like Old Spice s 2010 Commercial The Man Your Man Could Smell Like paints a truly unique image of masculinity. On the one hand, the ad s uninterrupted shot and the actor s nonchalant demeanor and wit leave us in awe. On the other hand, though, it also begs its viewers to sit back and reflect: Wait...what did I just see? The ad markets Old Spice deodorants to female as well as male audiences by directly associating them with the idea of hyper masculinity, insinuating that men who use Old Spice deodorants possess the capability to accomplish virtually anything. For instance, the Old Spice Man is depicted on a boat, possessing diamonds, and riding a horse (Old Spice). While the comical ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Thus, the ad seems to capitalize upon these characteristics in its depiction of masculinity: the Old Spice Man is well endowed with all of these characteristics he is the alpha male. • 11. Richard Louv s Last Child On The Woods ( 2008 ) The twenty first century comprises fast improving technology that alters people s lives. The world adapts to technological use as the standard way of life, and those who do not apply it are considered out of touch. Society has become too reliant on their smartphones, televisions, and video games that people are delusional about the world around them and tend to go outside less and stay inside more, hiding from humanity. Statistics say that technologykeeps friends, family, and co workers in touch, but it does not keep them in touch with nature. Today, civilians are separated from reality by new advancements that are supposed to enhance people s lives for the greater good, although all of these new advancements create a predicament, a predicament that keeps humanity from reality. The passage, Last Child in the Woods (2008), by Richard Louv discusses how children of this centenary are developing a dependence on technology. These children are vulnerable to the brutality of reality because they are not instructed how to survive outside of their environmentally friendly homes and their electronically engineered cars. They grow up knowing what a billboard looks like for various advertisements and to know how to work an iPhone at the age of four. Children are isolated by these new creations and are manipulated into the world of technology. All they see is an artificial world of consumerism. • 12. The Protagonist in Sister Carrie by Theodore Dreiser The picture of the protagonist that Theodore Dreiser s novel, Sister Carrie, portrays is only a half truth. By examining Sister Carrie s character, she is readily deemed as passive, weak, and full of superficial desires and yet in this profoundly inert nature lies the seed for the greater expression of an artistic soul. However, this realization is only drawn out by Ames s archetypically scholarly eyes (the intelligent but withdrawn engineer); bringing forth the powerful and intimate beauty that Carrie possesses, which without a photograph, the reader would forever remain blind to. Nevertheless, as Ames draws out the riches of Carrie s humanity, he delineates yet another ideal, the ideal of the artist, which lies far away from the comfort... Moreover, this attraction simply overrides Carrie s struggling conscience, which would appear only when the pleasant side was not too apparent, when Drouet was not there, leaving her a victim of the city s hypnotic influence (p75, 65). She sighed as she thought of her handsome adorer ... they would be happy (p163). This self delusion is fully exposed when her relationship with Hurstwood is brought into sudden question. She hangs in quandary, balancing between indecision and helplessness until finally Hurstwood s passion for her renewing youth and freshness re conquers her (p218). Ultimately, Carrie s own goals in life remain so vague that she cannot act upon them, even when the fundamental security and position in her life is brought under threat. This passivity typifies her even as she is stuck in the gloomy and decaying marriage with Hurstwood for three years, where being of a passive and receptive nature rather than an active and aggressive nature, Carrie ... • 13. Analysis of a Memorable Scene from Saving Private Ryan MEMORABLE SCENE IN SAVING PRIVATE RYAN The epic 1998 war movie Saving Private Ryan opens in the present day with an elderly World War II veteran accompanied by his family visiting the Normandy American Cemetery and Memorial at Colleville sur mer in Normandy, France, site of the infamous D Day landings by the Allies in Nazi occupied France on June 4, 1944 that precipitated the end of Nazi occupation in Europe and the end of the war. As he approaches the tomb stones he begins walking faster, separating from his family behind him and he collapses in tears at the foot of one grave in particular, that of Captain John H. Miller. The screen then dissolves and transitions to the horrendous scenes of human carnage on Omaha Beach on Normandy on June 4, 1944 seen through the eyes of Captain Miller. The final scene of the movie was especially memorable because of the way that it tied together the memories of the elderly veteran with the heroism and human tragedy that took place on the same beaches and that he witnessed and experienced personally inland. As the story unfolds, Miller is assigned the task of leading a squad of U.S. soldiers through occupied territories far ahead of the Allied advance into France with a specific mission directly from General George C. Marshall at the War Department in Washington, DC. Marshall had learned that three brothers from a single family had recently been killed in the war and that one remaining brother was unaccounted for in France. Pursuant ... • 16. Society Vs Savagery In Lord Of The Flies By William Golding Lord of the Flies Process Paper What s the thing holding society back from anarchy and chaos? The novel Lord of The Flies written by William Golding introduces the topic of society versus savagery and how humans naturally drive towards the latter. Social constructs are the foundation of which savagery is contained. The theme of Lord of the Flies is that all forms of civilization have a constant never ending drive towards savagery. Golding conveys this with his use of characters, setting, and symbolism throughout the novel. The author uses his character s relationships and internal struggles to convey the theme. Ralph s agenda of keeping the group together and lighting a signal fire shows that he is a civilized leader who is also challenged by Jack, a savage unleashed. The boys play a game after a hunt where Robert is hunted down as the pig Ralph too was fighting to get near, to get a handful of that brown vulnerable flesh gnawing at Robert and poking him with their spears (Golding 114). The imagery of Ralph attempting to reach for Robert is peculiar to his behavior as he s always been civilized throughout the novel. The word vulnerable implies that Ralph is a predator and Robert is prey waiting to be struck down. This behavior is the innate savagery trying to free itself, caged within Ralph s civilized brain. Robert struggles to break free from the hunter s grasps when Ralph mumbles haltingly, Just a game... I got jolly hurt at rugger once (Golding 115). He catches his ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Basic Legal Contract Principles For A Contract The above scenario is difficult to analyse due to there being no executed contract documentation to review such as a specification or terms and conditions to base a recommendation upon. Basic legal contract principles should therefore be applied to establish if a contract was in place, if it had been breached, along with potential remedies applied to each party. To identify if there was a breach of contract between John (the client) and Chris (the Contractor) it is key to establish if there was a legally binding contract in place. In order for a contract to be deemed legally binding , it must abide by three key elements which are offer, consideration and acceptance. The sum of ВЈ6,000 was offered for the service and subsequently agreed consideration completed by Chris whom accepted. With the capacity of both directors, including intent from both parties to carry out their promise, a contract was formed. As part of the contract negotiations ВЈ1,000 was paid in advance to Chris, without any identified agreed terms and conditions. Advanced payments in contracts such as these are typically used to purchase the materials required to undertake the work. They flourished mainly in the sixteenth and early seventeenth centuries, but began a decline in popularity from the second half of the seventeenth; from 1700 onwards their use fell off dramatically, even though in some parts of Europe they persisted until the early 1800s. Their modern revival dates only from the second half of the twentieth century; performers such as Otto Steinkopf in Germany and Christopher Monk in England were among the first to play cornetts in public in the 1950s. Whereas most renaissance and baroque instruments have direct descendants or analogues (for example, modern trombones and sackbuts, modern and baroque violins, etc.), this is not true for cornetts; no mainstream modern instrument combines a lip vibrated mouthpiece with woodwind style fingering, and this lack of any kind of continuous performing tradition necessitated a re invention of both their playing technique and usage. Sociological theories of suicide emphasize the role that society and culture play in this kind of self destructive behaviour. Such theories generally focus on either social structures or social situations. The first sociologist to theorize on suicide and its sociological interpretations was Emile Durkheim. Durkheim worked during the late 1800 s identifying social structures as the key determinant in self destructive behaviour. In his work Suicide: A study in Sociology, Durkheim stated that suicide rates increase when a society s value system breaks down. 2 Durkheim believed that the shared values of a society and the mechanisms in place that ensure that its members adhere to these values, is interpreted as a person s social structure. Durkheim suggested two basic factors in social structure that heavily influence the incidence of suicide. These are regulation and integration. He believed that an individual needs to become part of, and find direction in his own society. Without these factors in place, suicide becomes a common substitute. It s about how the products and services are being portrayed and advertised in order to attract the consumers. Product orientation, on the other hand, is focused on methods through which products are bettered for the consumers. The system and research which can be utilized to help improve the product are used in the process. Both the approaches are significant in their own unique way. It s important to understand the significance of market segmentation and hence, extensive research is required. Since the market has gotten competitive, range and preference is also observed. For product orientation, technological and safety factors are some important elements used (Osarenkhoe, 2008). This is done to help consumers enjoy the products in a way that s not offered before. That, by introducing new features or technology in the products. Different approaches to talent management Not all the organizations tend to use same approach when it comes to ensuring ... I would like to be able to explain all in extreme yet detached detail, with none of my own bias coloring it. My own nature tries to prevent me from doing so, yet I attempt time and time again. Who is to say this will be any different, but I find myself trying again to the best of my ability. We had been walking. I got home, they didn t. There. Colorless, yes, but wholly accurate. A moment passed, and a primitive instinct in me told me he had died. My dreamer had dropped out of his body sack and moved on. Yet his arms still moved. His chest still rose and fell with breath. Fingers still shook as they held fast to my shoulder. Above all, a single thought reared itself above the hordes. This thing is dead, yet it is alive. A dead thing held onto my shoulders, clothed in my friend s body, yet I did not scream. I did not lay down and beg to die in that forest. What had happened was that the undiluted fear immobilized me. • 35. The Debate On The Issue Of Poverty JUDGEMENT FRAMEWORK Poverty is a complex issue that has always been around, but has been a growing concern over time. Holding a debate on the issue of poverty, is one that can easily go awry due to it s complexity and emotional aspects. In order to evaluate the debate, both teams need to fully understand the proposal and clearly articulate their stance. The debate teams need to be able to clearly explain their position, refute the opponent s argument, provide solutions, provide a stimulating counter examination, and effectively answer questions from the judges. Other logistical aspects of the debate that will be judged on is the ability to efficiently use time and allocate it between team members, as well as refraining from interrupting other debates and keeping an appropriate volume and demeanor. There are various general questions that will be utilized in my evaluation of the debate. Did the teams address what poverty is, how people become poor and remain poor, explain why it s the individual or society s fault, why we haven t been able to dramatically keep poverty low, why current efforts are not working, and what new solutions should be utilized? I expect both teams to utilize support for their arguments from outside sources and from the readings. The Great Schism Analysis Amelia Kasgorgis Ms. Argue Mission March, 10 2015 The Great Schism The Great Schism of 1378 was caused when the papal court, which was based in Rome, elected an Italian Pope named Pope Urban VI. The French cardinals refused to accept the Italian Pope so they announced that his election was invalid and elected a new Pope, Pope Clement VII. Urban VI began to show absence in self control when he criticized the cardinals for their luxury and laziness and when he revealed his plan of reforming the Church. Urban VI s violent and abusive treatment towards the cardinals caused them to fear for their lives and believe he was mentally ill; this lead to the turn against the cardinals to abandon Rome. At Anagni on August 2 the dissidents published a manifesto in which they pronounced his election null and void, on the ground that pressure from the Romans had made a free election impossible (Great Western Schism). When they took away the position as Pope from Urban they elected his rival which was Clement VII. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... However, ability to play the position and being athletic and playing the position are not to be confused. The ability to play a position will allow a player to play a sport for as long as the athlete can play and feel capable of playing or is thought by the powers in control feel they can. As the coach, Shanahan is expected to make decisions and do what needs to be done in order to win games. Decisions such as when to pull a player off the field and replace him with someone else definitely fall into this category. As a starting quarterback McNabb is suppose to be capable of doing what needs to be done in order to win games such things would include being in shape, knowing the teams plays and being capable to execute plays that you are given. This may also include wearing an arm band with plays listed on them so if you have questions of which plays are called you can check them for accuracy. Each year Australians celebrate the mateship, courage and heroism the Anzac soldiers showed during the Gallipoli campaign. Although, people tend to depict these soldiers as victims of a catastrophic trauma, yet this passionate sacrifice is what gave Australiaits name. Furthermore, word of discussion argues the truth behind the accuracy of the Anzac Legend. Through the analysis of sources, it is demonstrated that the Anzac Legend displays numerous inspirational characteristics. Thus, the Legend of mateship, heroism and courage is an accurate representation of the fighting Australian and New Zealand soldiers in world war one. After the Anzac s landed in Gallipoli, they were in combat for approximately eight and a half months. Throughout this long and tedious period of time the soldiers went through many traumatic experiences. Although, looking into the face of death the soldiers were able to have a spirit of mateship to make conditions bearable. They gave their lives for a supreme cause in gallant comradeship with the rest of my soldiers who fought and died with them (Di, 2008). • 48. Annotated Bibliography On Database Encryption 1. INTRODUCTION Database Encryption is one of the technique used for securing the data in database. This method transforms information on a computer in such a way that it becomes unreadable. So, even if someone is able to gain access to a computer with personal data on it, they likely won t be able to do anything with the data unless they have original data key, complicated or expensive software. The main function of encryption is essentially to translate normal text into cipher text. Encryption makes sure that data doesn t get read by the wrong people, but can also ensure that data isn t altered in transit, and verify the identity of the sender. Data Encryption method typically uses a specified parameter or key to perform the data transformation. Some encryption algorithms require the key to be the same length as the message to be encoded, yet other encryption algorithms can operate on much smaller keys relative to the message. Encryption is most used among transactions over insecure channels of communication, such as the internet. Encryption is also used to protect data being transferred between devices such as mobile telephones, automatic teller machines (ATMs), and many more. Encryption can be used to create digital signatures, which allow a message to be authenticated. When properly implemented, a digital signature gives the recipient of a message reason to believe the message was sent by the claimed sender. 2. THREATS TO DATABASE 2.1 Database Databases are the ...
