Rational : This module will provide the basic knowledge and skills to communicate
and receive technical ideas without ambiguity.
Assessment Method : AE
Aim of the module :
In accordance with the pre-requisites, the students should posses, basic
knowledge and skills in preparation of drawings. On this ground following aims are
expected of this unit.
a) To develop ability to produce simple working drawings depicting construction
details and information, in accordance with general practice in industry.
b) To develop ability to interpret, information presented in construction drawings.
c) To develop ability to translate sketched information into scaled detail drawings.
.
SPECIAL NOTES
a) Students should be encouraged to develop their skill is producing proper, accurate
drawings using pencil.
b). Section 1. though not assessed, should be covered prior to, and as an inherent
part of the whole syllabus.
c) Under the section on construction details, a minimum of 15 drawing sheets should
be compiled to represent the given content. To carryout this properly, a close co-
ordination with the instructor in "Building Construction" should be maintained.
d) Section 3 in the unit is mainly associated with the aim C above and the. students
should be given roughs sketches and information by the instructor, so that they
are able to produce accurate drawings to required standards.
CONSTRUCTIONDRAWING Unit No: C 1-8
