Aim of the Unit :
(a) Identify the intake, aeration, sedimentation filtration processes of water
supply.
(b) Compare and explain the characteristics of raw waters from all sews and
explain the physical and bacteriological test used in water supply scheme.
(c) Understand the demand and storage capacity and various pumps.
(d) Understand the sewerage treatment systems and design of small septic
tanks.
6. Specia1 Notes :
(a) To enhance the various processes introduced in classroom, site visits
should be used whenever possible.
(b) The suggested assessment methods consists of 2 assignment: and end
test of 3 hour duration.

be counted together with 60% of the mar of en test.
