The narrator describes their first experience observing classes at a new school. They were nervous at first but were greeted warmly by the English teacher. The teacher introduced the narrator to the class and explained their role. The narrator observed two classes, taking notes on the classroom environment and student behavior. After the second class, the teacher suggested the narrator bring a game to help students practice vocabulary. The students enjoyed the memory game and asked if the narrator would bring it again. Though initially anxious, the narrator found the experience excellent and felt more comfortable as bonds with students developed over time.

1. FIRST NARRATIVE
My first experience in the school was very nice. Before we arrived at the
institution I was very nervous and anxious, I was a little scared because I did not know
the school and everything was new to me. When with my pedagogical partner arrived
at the building, we were greeted by the English teacher who was there at the corridor
waiting for us. She was very nice and kind, she showed us where the English room was.
The students were in the break and after five minutes they went to the classroom. The
teacher presented us in front of the students telling them that we will observe some
classes and that later we are going to be the ones who will teach them. All of them
greeted us, they were very respectful and friendly. We observed the class, how the
kids behaved, how the room was organized and decorated and at the end we asked
some questions to the teacher. For example how many students there were, if they
went to classes regularly, and we also requested her the annual scheduling. After two
observations, the teacher asked us if we wanted to bring a game so as to practice the
vocabulary that they were studying. We decided to make a “memo test” so as to play
with the kids and they will be practicing the colours and the numbers. It was an
excellent experience, the students loved the game and all of them participated. In the
following class they asked if we are going to bring the game again because they had
enjoyed it a lot. Even though I was scared, and I did not know what to do the first day,
it was an excellent experience going to the school. As time passes, I feel more and
more comfortable, we started to create bonds with the students which is, in my
opinion, very important. I hope to learn more during my practices.
