Dr. Lecter was never found. He did, however, call Clarice and told her not to search for him, and he
would not search to kill her. Much of the film and book are exactly the same with only small
differences, which set them apart. In 1992, it won an Academy Award for Best Writing Adapted
Screenplay, which really shows how much effort Jonathan Demme, the director put into this film to
keep the same plot. The small differences throughout, really sway the reader or viewer to make a
decision on which one really captured the storyline better. In the film, the backstory of Jack Crawford
is not really shown. In the book, however, the reader can really tell how much effort and sacrifice he
made for the job he has. Because of all of Crawford s effort, it really built Clarice s character. Clarice
in the story is seen as a second chance for Crawford because of his mistakes he made with Will
Graham. Both stories really mirror each other and fit into each other. In the film, however, it is hard to
fit so much tiny detail into a two hour film, so the movie wasn t able to show the small details about
Clarice. The book nevertheless, was able to shape Clarice as an individual. But, during the film Jodi
Foster, the actor who played Clarice Starling in the film, was really able to embrace her character and
brought as much detail as she could. Another small detail about Dr. Lecter is in the book, he is
described as having red eyes and six fingers on one hand, but in the film, he has blue eyes and both
hands only have 5 fingers. In a crucial scene, in the novel, it sways the guard s attention from his other

I am currently a senior in the Honors division. I joined Academic Decathlon my junior year, and
throughout my two years of involvement, I have experienced many situations which have aided me in
and out of school. With the wide variety of subjects we cover in this extra curricular, I often come
across the same material in other classes. Having already been introduced to this knowledge, it is
easier to complete certain projects and assignments. Recently, I was given the opportunity to job
shadow an employee who works in the information technology field. I was required to ask them
multiple questions pertaining to their job. Competing at regionals in the interview helped greatly with
this. Not only did I know how I should act when giving the questions, but I knew how to respond to
their answer. It was almost an exact replica of my experience at regionals, only I was the interrogator.
In fact, my Academic Decathlon interview was the first major interview I had ever participated in. I m

The exciting thing about Academic Decathlon is the plethora of different personalities and interests.
This activity attracts virtually everyone from all aspects of the social statuses. Among my other
classes, I purposely blend in with the crowd, not wanting to draw attention to myself. But in this class,
everyone is their own unique person. Since all of us stand out amongst ourselves, bickering, joking,

The subject of personality is one that is extremely complex and dynamic. Personality has been defined
as the ingrained pattern of behavior, thoughts, and feelings consistent across situations and time. It
consists of a mixture of characteristics and qualities that form an individual s distinctive character. The
configuration of an individual s personality is quite unique because trying to uncover what prompts us
or inspires us to accumulate the different behaviors and thought processes has yet to be discovered
over the past centuries of time. Personality is something an individual can examine in another and

Senior Seminar Project
For my senior seminar project, I wish to complete a community event. With about 10 kids from the
Youth Center on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 3:30 4:15, I plan to have a t ball clinic. I
plan to use the field at the Bow Youth Center as a location for my clinic, in which there will be 3
different stations hitting, throwing, and fielding. The stations will be run on Mondays and
Wednesdays, and on Fridays, there will be a t ball game in which kids will be able to put their learned
skills to use. For the volunteer hours, I plan to job shadow the PE teacher at Abbot Downing School in
Concord. I will drive down 4 times a week (Tuesday/Thursday from 11:45 to 1:00 and
Wednesday/Friday from 1:30 2:30) and complete my job shadow, which could involve anything from
me helping set up games and activities, helping run the activities during gym class, and cleaning up

Hlavaz. I chose her because I got to know her well last year because of AP Psychology, and I feel like
she got to know me pretty well too. I know that she ll help me with whatever I may need throughout
the course of this project. I do not have a content mentor. My essential question is what are the
positive effects of playing sports at a young age. I feel like this topic is important because sports have
always been prevalent in society, but in the past decade or so, there has been more of a push, or
movement, to get the younger generation involved in youth sports. I hope to find out the cause of this
major push to find out why it is important for kids to play sports at a young age. Through job

an abstract, chaotic, information web into what I call a social hypertext.
Initially, I didn t pay much attention to the Web. After all, it was just a new take on distributed
information server systems such as WAIS[8] and Gopher[1]. True, it was easier to use than WAIS, and
the ability of Web browsers to display formatted text and graphics with embedded links made it more
