Review Of Claude Debussy s The Piano
Achille Claude Debussy, commonly known as Claude Debussy, is one of the world s most famous
Classical composers. His extreme talent at the piano is undeniable, and his life story is fascinating.
Debussy was able to grow as an artist throughout his lifetime and continue this recognition long past
his death. By creating a new and beautiful sound with the piano, Debussy was able to become one of
the greatest composers of all time within the classical period that has lead to all different types of
people from all different eras to appreciate his work.
Debussy was born on August 22, 1862, in the town of Saint Germain en Laye, France. Debussy was
the oldest of five children, where growing up in the suburbs of Paris, his family was quite poor.
Although his family was poverty stricken, along with neither of his parents being musicians, Debussy
was able to begin playing the piano at age seven and started to gain success at the age of nine. One of
his teachers, Madame Maute de Flerville, who also taught the Polish composer Frederic Chopin
(Lockspeiser), was able to provide Debussy with great knowledge and skill of the piano. Then at the
age of only eleven, Debussy enrolled in the Paris Conservatory where he was able to express his
musical talent and knowledge. At the conservatory, in addition to the artists studying their instrument,
performers received training in music theory and harmony, and participated in ensembles (Jensen 9).
Debussy s musical talent benefited greatly from

Taking After Lewis Model
Taking after Lewis model (1989) life insurance demand is settled by a boost of the dependents or
beneficiaries normal lifetime utility. Security of dependent individuals from a family against financial
hardship on account of a wage earner s unexpected passing is a vital thought process of purchasing life
insurance. Subsequently, the higher number of dependents suggests expanding demand for life
insurance. Then again, various family individuals may constrain the wage earner s financial sources,
inferring negative impacts of families individuals on life insurance consumption.
In spite of the fact that Outreville (1996) holds that life expectancy mirrors the actuarial reasonable
cost of life insurance, the analysts more often than not arrange this variable among social and
demographic ones for issues connected with utilizing life expectancy as intermediary for life insurance
value. Also Beenstock et al. (1986), Outreville (1996) and Ward Zurbruegg (2002) discover positive
correlation between life expectancy and demand for life insurance. Opposite results are demonstrated
by Li et al. (2007). Beck Webb (2003) find that impact of life expectancy on life insurance demand is
not solid.
Financial stuation Income is generally discovered to be positively identified with the demand for life
insurance, holding different variables steady. The impact of current income on life insurance demand
is inspected in various studies (Duker 1969; Truett and Truett, 1990; Showers and

The Theme Of Money In The Great Gatsby
There is no point in denying it, we all love money and want plentiful amounts of it. We yearn to be
like the richest people in the world, who have so much money they can do whatever they want. Maybe
some of us even want to be the richest person in the world, at this moment the richest man in the
world is Jeff Bezos, founder of Amazon. He has a net worth of 90.6 billion dollars, something none of
us will ever experience, but can dream about. But dreams pertaining to money can only get us so far.
Money is a theme consistently expressed throughout two novels, The Great Gatsby by F. Scott
Fitzgerald, and Of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck. Fitzgerald s novel considers money primarily
through the life of a wealthy man who flourishes in life, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Through meeting and knowing Daisy, Gatsby falls in love with her and the idea of having her in his
life, which makes him motivated to work in order to make money. In contrast, George Wilson lives in
a setting of adversity (Fitzgerald 25). He works to supply for himself and his wife, but nothing ever
comes out of his work because he does not know people to help him become successful, and he is
unable to make much money. In The Great Gatsby, Jay Gatsby thrives in life, while George Wilson
does not. Fitzgerald compares characters of different social classes and their capabilities of success,
while Steinbeck supplies the reader with decidedly different experiences of success through the two
main characters, George and Lennie, and their lives.
In Of Mice and Men the main characters, Lennie and George, are unfortunate and have poor qualities
of life because they do not have much money, and do not know people who can guide them into better
situations. George and Lennie are unsuccessful because they are simply ranchers who work for
another man, they don t do the work to make money for themselves (Steinbeck 6). Instead, they do the
work for the boss and get paid by the boss. Lennie and George are forced to leave Weed. They can be
found nonstop in precarious situations. This can show that success and quality of life is determined by
who you know because George travels around with Lennie, and Lennie is more of a hindrance than a
help. George constantly talks about what he

Why I Write Joan Didion On Keeping A Notebook Summary
Response to Didion Readings Throughout her writing Joan Didion brings up many important points
and reasons to write that apply to all types of people from professional writers to average people.
Didion uses an approach that allows many people to understand the importance of writing in everyone
s life. In both Why I Write and On Keeping a Notebook readers are able to find the personal
importance of writing from recalling the past, to finding an answer, and even simply expressing
personal thoughts and feelings. Memory and recalling the past is an important part of the lives of
many people. Everyone has a memory that they hold dear or that reminds them of a special part of
their life. Through her writing, Didion amplifies the importance of writing down the things that
happen directly to a person or occur around them. She believes that writing down what is happening is
a way to reconnect to a memory. It may be a small and random detail about something that sparks the
memory of a very important part of life or reminds us of the person we used to be. The things written
may seem insignificant but it all comes back and has an important impact on the memories we have

unknowns and continues to write until the questions are answered and the unknowns become clear. It
is a practice that many people can use in today s world. There are always new problems arising from
small day to day questions to large and important life decisions. Didion s method is one of the many
ways to overcome problems and find answers to life s many

SUBWAY
Subway is an American fast food restaurant franchise. It primarily sells submarine sandwiches (subs)
and salads.
Fred DeLuca along with Dr Peter Buck back in 1965 opened a sandwich store to help pay his tution
fees for medical college. Fred soon learned the basics of running a business, as well as the importance
of serving a well made, high quality product, providing excellent customer service, keeping operating
costs low and finding great locations. These early lessons continue to serve as the foundation for
successful SUBWAY restaurants around the world.
The first shop was opened in Bridgeport, Connecticut in August, 1965. Then, they set a goal of having

Geostationary Satellite Essay
Optimizing the Bands in Geostationary Satellite Internet When it comes to each of the three main
bands, the Ka band, the Ku band, and the L band, we know that since they have a range of different
frequencies, they can therefore be optimized to work more efficiently. This can be done by three other
important characteristics. These would be bandwidth, the power of the signals used, and the quality of
the data transmission. The bandwidth can be utilized where there is currently outdated hardware such
as the modem or the receiver on a ground satellite or a geostationary satellite. When it comes to the
power of the signal, this can be increased which would help in the sending and receiving of data.

Geostationary Satellite Internet Airline speed
On the flip side, the satellite internet provided in airlines is still slower than what the wired
counterpart offers. This was apparent in 2008 when one of the first Wi Fi s used on an airline had an
initial speed of 3 Mb which worked for that time. However, with the current technology of smart
phones and tablets, the demand for greater speeds is needed in order for passengers to be able to use
these devices efficiently. Today, speeds for geostationary satellite internet on airlines are around 12
Mbps, which is better than before but, still not as quick as wired internet. The price of the
geostationary satellite internet is still increasing but this is mainly due to the hardware associated with
having a stable connection. This is including but not limited to the antennas that increase the drag and
this in turn increases fuel costs for airlines. Adding on engineering costs along with maintenance,
these add up which the passengers of the airlines end up paying extra for ( How does in flight Wi Fi
work?, 2017).

Coup-Proofing Analysis
Lecture 20: When do authoritarian militaries side with protesters? (Nov 15)
In Coup proofing, Military Defection, and the Arab Spring, Michael Makara examines how different
coup proofing strategies help prevent military defection (334). Looking specifically at Egypt, Syria,
and Yemen during the Arab Spring, he claims that whereas parallel security institutions and bribes (
material incentives ) can promote discord that renders the military prone to defection in times of mass
anti government protest, ethnic stacking increases the likelihood of maintaining military loyalty.
Ethnic stacking, he argues, takes advantage of communal ties, and the Syrian regime is a prime
example of a government that employed this tactic (335). Egypt, conversely, ... Show more content on

When the Egyptian Revolution transpired in 2011, Medvedev called Mubarak to communicate his
hope that tensions would be resolved peacefully and, more saliently, stressed the urgency of ensuring
security for the Russian Embassy in Cairo and Russians living in Egypt (Reuters). Only after Morsi s
ousting did relations, particularly military and economic cooperation, between Egypt and Russia
strengthen (Nashashibi); in fact, Putin and el Sisi had met prior to Morsi s ousting (Al Jazeera). With
Yemen, Russia has been calling for a military ceasefire, but is not nearly as invested in the crisis as
Saudi Arabia or the United States is (Lauria). Russia s major intervention has been in Syria, where it
openly stations military assets, built a permanent airbase, and sends attack helicopters against rebel
forces. Russia s exceptionally active backing of Assad s regime has clear potential impact on the
likelihood of military defection. The economic and military resources at Russia s disposal and that it
supplies to the Syrian government consolidate the Assad administration, allowing it to withstand
uprisings in ways that Mubarak and Saleh were unable to. This understanding provides little incentive
for military officials to defect, since they recognize that coup attempts will likely be quashed by the
combined power of Russian and loyalist Syrian forces. Russia s support makes overcoming opposition
and winning the war seem

Rural people in Myanmar hunt birds, mammals, reptiles, amphibians, fish and insects (a major protein

2.2.2 NTFPs for Medicine
Medicinal plants have been important in human healthcare throughout history, and continue to play a
key role amongst forest communities (Shackleton et. al. 2011). In Myanmar, most of the rural areas
are lacking modern medicine and health services. Some of the areas are very far from the urban area
and sometimes difficult to access. Sometimes modern medicine and healthcare services are expensive
and they are not affordable. Traditional medicines obtained from local plant and animal species are
easily available and free or low cost (Shackleton et. al. 2011). Rural people have good knowledge on

Victim Impact Statement Pros And Cons
Victim Impact statements (VIS) give the person or family the chance to state how they feel about the
offender and the acts that they committed. VIS can challenge the 8th amendment; however it helps the
jury to make a decision on if the person should get life or the death penalty. Most victim statements
are not all negative. The victim gets the chance to let the accused understand the hurt that they cause
the family or them. Consequently depending on the criminal they may or may not care. The writer will
report on what they believe to be the purpose and reasoning behind victim and execution impact
statements. The question is why is there so much controversy surrounding the use of victim impact
statements during trial? The writer will address the issues that make some think VIS should or it
should not be admitted in the court. The pros and cons of VIS will be demonstrated with sources to

The Equity Method of Accounting for Investments
Chapter 1 the equity method of accounting for investments Chapter Outline I. Three methods are
principally used to account for an investment in equity securities. A. Fair value method: applied by an
investor when only a small percentage of a company s voting stock is held. 1. Income is recognized
when dividends are declared. 2. Portfolios are reported at market value. If market values are
unavailable, investment is reported at cost. B. Consolidation: when one firm controls another (e.g.,
when a parent has a majority interest in the voting stock of a subsidiary or control through variable
interests (FIN 46R), their financial statements are consolidated and reported for the combined entity.

B. Payments made in excess of underlying book value can sometimes be identified with specific
investee accounts such as inventory or equipment. C. An extra acquisition price can also be assigned
to anticipated benefits that are expected to be derived from the investment. For accounting purposes,
these amounts are presumed to reflect an intangible asset referred to as goodwill. Goodwill is
calculated as any excess payment that is not attributable to specific accounts. For the year 2002 and
beyond, goodwill is no longer amortized. V. Deferral of unrealized gains in inventory A. Gains derived
from intercompany transactions are not considered completely earned until the transferred goods are
either consumed or resold to unrelated parties. B. Downstream sales of inventory 1. Downstream
refers to transfers made by the investor to the investee. 2. Intercompany gains from sales are initially
deferred under the equity method and then recognized as income at the time of the inventory s
eventual disposal. 3. The amount of gain to be deferred is the investor s ownership percentage
multiplied by the markup on the merchandise remaining at the end of the year. C. Upstream sales of
inventory 1. Upstream refers to transfers made by the investee to the investor. 2. Under the equity
method, the deferral process for unrealized gains is identical for upstream

The Dumbest Generation Essay
As the years tack on and we embark on new technological advances, the effects of such technological
advances brings on new concerns about what this technology is doing to and for us. Is it connecting or
disconnecting us, pushing the boundaries or crossing the line, helping or hurting us? Now what s come
into question is our intellectual habits; Is new technology making us dumber ? With research making
unfair comparisons between the new generations and older generations, those under the age of thirty
cannot be proven to be the dumbest generation , but an improving generation. The information posed
as proof that those under the age of thirty are dumb , isn t equal. Mark Bauerlein, in his bestselling

their lack of general knowledge and slipping reading habits, or our intellectual habits. Bauerlein bases
some of this information off of a Pew survey on What Americans Know: 1989 2007 , where 56
percent of 18 to 29 year olds possessed low knowledge levels, while only 22 percent of 50 to 64 year
olds did (Source 1). This research shows that the younger generation lacks knowledge of their media,
money, e gadgets, and career plans (Source 1). When looking at the information, how is this a fair
comparison? The research studies the two groups along the same time period, from 1989 2007 it does

Human Nature In The Stand By Stephen King

decision you make comes with some influence from Human Nature. Human Nature tells you a bit of
right from wrong and almost tells you what outcomes can be. To give an example from Paul Zak s Can

rooms and they would both get twenty dollars. One person could choose how much money they
wanted to give the other. So basically if you didn t give the other person money they could take money

Paul Zak s Can a molecule make us moral is very interesting in a lot of ways. It really shows a lot of
different scenarios where there can be a good moral decision and a bad moral decision. Paul Zak said
that morality is like the earthly basis of all decisions which when you think about it it is very true.
Most if not all decisions we make have morality behind them whether it be a good or bad decision.
With all of this to consider and how morality can change decisions with good or bad influence do we
actually make the decisions or is it all morality. It actually is us just with a certain molecule called
Oxytocin. It is a molecule released when you sense trust or have a certain feeling with another person.
Paul Zak said a good example of this is the Pigeon Drop con where say you work at a gas station and a

has a job interview so you decide to split it so he gives you the necklace and you give him the 100

of time was spent with the flutist and pianist playing a part of a piece, and him teaching and

The Show, Mad Men, By Roger Sterling
Some people believe that the more money a person has, the less satisfied the person is in life. Women
s emotions are not affected the same, but some women s emotions are affected differently by dealing
with different men with different income compared to other men. The show, Mad Men, takes place in
the 1960 s New York, portraying the life of the protagonist, Don Draper (Jon Hamm), the Creative
Director of Sterling Cooper Agency, an advertising agency owned by Roger Sterling (John Slattery).
Don Draper is praised for his work, but many of the employees in the company, like Draper, are filled
with arrogance and disrespect that not only the men face, but the women tolerate. The episode Shoot
mainly focuses on how Don does not want his wife, Betty Draper (January Jones), to model again, on
how the agency is trying to figure out how to stop John F. Kennedy s campaign on the air, and how
Don is trying to figure out to leave Sterling Cooper Agency and work for McCann Erikson Firm, a
different advertising agency. Throughout the episode, many can notice the men degrading and utilizing
the women in the episode by making rude, sexual remarks towards the women or competing to be
better than the women. Betty symbolizes a married woman who becomes more dependent as her
husband becomes more successful. Betty s expectation to be a dutiful, nurturing mother is displayed in
her mother daughter relationship. This episode s depiction of working, single women indicates that

Moving To Mexico Research Paper
Imagine waking up to a beautiful view every day, without a care in the world about the expenses of

description for the beautiful land of Mexico, that has proven itself to be one of the finest places to live

no longer find their way of living in their country to be worthwhile. They are not only attracted to the

On the website Expat Info Desk, an article titled Living in Mexico: A Guide to Moving to Mexico as
an Expat gives people who are considering moving from their country a gist of what it is like to live in
Mexico. Allegedly, one of the most beneficial factors in moving to Mexico is the difference in
currency, that allows middle class Americans to enjoy a high standard of living with lower prices for
basic necessities such as grocery items (Living in Mexico). The drastic difference between a US
Dollar and a Mexican Peso allow young families to adapt to the lifestyle in Mexico easily with only a
small amount of saved up money. Another factor that families focus on when moving is what city to
settle in and how expensive housing will be in those locations. Although places like Mexico City are
far more expensive than other towns and cities, for the most part housing in Mexico is relatively
cheap, in comparison making moderately sized properties the same amount as a small clustered
property in the United States (Living in Mexico). This alone becomes specifically beneficial to
Americans who never get to enjoy luxury time to themselves, or work all day throughout the week to
live a barely lived life, which could all change by moving to a new country. Not only is moving to
Mexico a stable place to start a new life, but a constant vacation with all of the easily accessible

Historical Backdrop of Military Robots
The historical backdrop of military robots could be followed over to the times of World War II.
Throughout the time of World War II and the Cold War, these robots were as German Goliath followed
and Soviet teletanks. It is additionally accepted that military robots history might be gone once again
to the nineteenth century, absolutely in 1898. The history starts with the innovation of radio controlled
watercraft proposed for military use by Nicola Tesla. He offered his development to US naval force to
prepare radio controlled torpedoes yet the war fleet declined his offer. Later, he offered his creation to
the United Kingdom.
The following critical step that gives a defining moment in the historical backdrop of military robots
was in 1930 ties in the Soviet Union. Soviet Union made a remote controlled tank called as teletank .
Later on the tank s control framework was altered and to control the tank electric transfers and radio
signs were utilized. Contingent upon climate and different conditions teletank could be controlled
from 500 1500m away. The teletanks were furnished with DT automatic rifles, flamethrowers and

Comparison of Two Mathematics Curricula
Comparison of Two Mathematics Curricula Math teachers have become increasingly disenchanted
with the traditional materials they are forced to teach due to the existing California standards. The goal
of the teachers is not that they need to change the standards, but there needs to be a better curriculum
to adequately bring students up to those standards. Current curricula follow the letter of the standards
that California has implemented, but they sometimes seem to be based on nothing substantial which
would give credibility to the course of study. If a curriculum is developed to meet a set of standards,
that is exactly what it will do. However, the goal should be to not only meet but to exceed the stated
standards; or, at the very least, give students the ability to go beyond the standard. In this argument,
the California standards are the lowest rung of the ladder that the state should encourage students to
climb. Yes, the student will have a basic understanding of mathematical concepts if they meet the
standard, but they will not have any impetus to reach beyond that and achieve something more. In this
research paper, two different curricula possibilities are examined for their relative merits; one which is
meant to just meet the recommended California mathematics standard as set forth by the Common
Core State Standards Initiative (2005), and one which is recommended by a practical body, the
National Science Foundation (NSF), to encourage students to achieve a higher,

Slavery As A Social Problem
The objective reality in this social problem begins with the modernization of the world we live in and
its high demands for convenience. Although, slavery has been abolished in the United States,
Americans still support slavery. It is imperative that Americans maintain a supply and demand quota
of a variety of items being produced from other countries at any cost. America is not the largest
country in the world but, Americans seem to use up the most of the world s resources. Americans need
to open their eyes, and stop calculating their profit margins. How can Americans requests for

The collision theory explains all there is to the rate of reaction. The collision theory states that the rate
of reaction depends on how often and how hard the reacting particles collide. Reacting particles need
to collide with each other to be able to react. The more collisions there are then the faster the rate of
reaction will be. The following methods of increasing the rate of reaction can be explained by
increasing the number of collisions between the reacting particles: * Temperature When the
temperature is increased in a reaction the particles begin to move around much quicker. This means
that when they collide with each other they will collide harder. * Catalyst A catalyst works by giving
the reacting particles a surface to stick to on which they can collide with each other on. This also
increases the number of collisions between the particles. * Size If one of the reactants is a solid it will
have a smaller surface area than a solid that is broken up into smaller pieces. This allows the particles
in the solution to have a bigger area to collide in. * Concentration A more concentrated solution means
there are more reactant particles moving about amongst the water particles. This makes collisions
between the reactant particles more

The Painted Door
When two people are tied together by their vows, it is each of their responsibility to fulfill the

Ross s short story, The Painted Door , reveals the growing unhappiness of a farmer s wife, Ann, who
feels alone as her husband John leaves home to help his father in the harsh conditions of the storm.
Ann seeks comfort and companionship with another man after 7 years of feeling neglected and
unhappy with her husband. The responsibility for Ann s infidelity, lays not only on Anne but John
himself.

tends to the chores of the farm. Ann resents John for leaving her alone all the time. Anne is attracted to
Steven by the way he describes him, he was erect, tall, square shouldered. His hair was dark and trim,
his young lips curved soft and full. The descriptions that Anne uses shows her attraction towards the
Steven physically. She uses much more flattering words to describe him in comparison to how she
would describe John. Anne is bothered that her husband does not care about his appearance. This is
displayed in the following quotation, He ll be shaved, though that s what I mean and I d like you too to
spend a little time on yourself. She is comparing him to Steven, and wanting him to be more like
Steven. Steven knew that Ann was lonely and needed someone with whom to talk. When Steven
shows up just at the right time to help Ann with the stock, she was so glad and excited that he had
come. He puts his arms around her to comfort her...and she enjoys it. Anne, in the end does love her
husband. The subsequent quote shows this, ...half smiling still, his lips relaxed in the conscienceless
complacency of his achievement, she understood that thus he was revealed in his entirety all there ever
was or ever could be. John was the man. With him lay all the future. For tonight, slowly and contritely
through the day and years to come, she would try to make amends. This shows that she indeed loves
John and feels remorse for being unfaithful to him. In John being her man she is saying that she wants
to be with him and not Steven. Steven is addressed in this quote as being just a guy who achieved
nothing more than having sex with a married woman. the remorse is demonstrated by her saying that

To the rulers of the three races (elves, dwarves, and men) Sauron gave the rings as gifts. The fourth
race of Middle Earth, the hobbits, was perhaps too small and inconsequential for him. In secrecy,
Sauron forged the One Ring a master ring that would rule all the other rings and bring their wearers
under the domination of Sauron himself. It was the One Ring that would grant absolute power. But, as
the story goes, Sauron s plan was discovered before he could complete it, and the other races (the
elves and dwarves) resisted him. Men were more easily corrupted by the rings, and the rulers of men at
that time became Ringwraiths, the most powerful and fearsome of Sauron s servants. Then there was a
great war, for the freedom of Middle Earth, a last alliance of men and elves (and dwarves, and all who
resisted Sauron). In that war, the leader of men named Isildur managed to sever Sauron s hand, cutting
off the connection between Sauron and his One Ring. The effect was that Sauron s physical form was
destroyed, his spirit fled elsewhere, and his armies crumbled. In that moment of victory, Isildur had
the chance to destroy the One Ring forever, by throwing it into the flames of Mount Doom where it
had been created. He refused. Isildur claimed the One Ring as his by right, and departed, much to the
dismay of the elves and all the others. But the Ring eventually betrayed

My favorite season of the year is summer because of the warm weather, the school vacation, and the

for school. Summer time is a great time to relax with friends and family by soaking up the sun at a

The break calls for staying up late and waking up whenever you want to. Everyone works so hard
during the school year, so they deserve that free time. Summer times are stress free, relaxing, and
basically fun. You don t have to worry about homework, projects, and studying for a test. One of my
favorite summer pastimes is staying up late watching movies and eating junk food, and then waking
up late and having brunch. Summer season is the best time for festivals and activities. You can never
get bored on a summer day or night. During the day, there are fun activities such as: swimming,
sports, picnics, and barbeques. Friends and family spend a lot of time together during the summer
time. There is a lot of good food, drinks, and fun music. Everyone is laughing and having a good time.
Summer evenings are the best time for concerts, movies, parties, and relaxing with friends. The
summer evenings are beautiful because of the sparkly and glittery city lights. One of the best events of
the year, July Fourth, happens during summer. The celebration of July fourth is very extravagant and
glamorous. People gather around to celebrate and watch the display of fireworks. The vibrant colors
and the loud sound of the fireworks are amazing. Overall, summer is just a wonderful season with so
much to offer. The best thing about this time of the year is that everyone is so happy, whereas,

The Pros And Cons Of Islamic Banking And Bank Negara Malaysia
1.0 Introduction

how much they love him and Cordelia says she loves him as much as a daughter should love her

Why would you choose something the students will most likely disagree on when you can keep what

the type of food you are switching it to. For example, students will not eat the food if you do decide to

the certain food you are feeding them. Not eating the food can also led them to hate eating healthy
food everyday. The reason for that is they eat it everywhere they go including school, at home, and
anywhere else they go. The students also worry about they next day everyday. The students can worry
about it throughout the school day and ask themself if they are going to get something different for

The park s granite is made up of smaller bodies of granite. This is one reason why there are many
varieties of granite. Weathering of exposed granite is slow because weathering depends on whether
there is moisture or not. Edges and corners of joint granite blocks are more affected when weathering
occurs. Unweathered remains of granite turns into rounded boulders. Small natural depressions turn
into weather pit when water collects in a depression on granitic surfaces. A possible explanation for
weathering is that alternate wetting and drying along the pools that collect in the pans. Darker granitic
rocks are high in biotite and weather quicker than the lighter rocks. The foothills are located at the
west edge of the park and eastern summit area. They are remains of ancient rocks and sediments.
Evolution of the landscape is a big part of the geology just like the rocks themself. As the earth
became cooler, the sierra nevada mountains rose high enough for creating glaciers and mountain
icefields. The majority of Yosemite is made of plutonic, igneous rock. The plutonic rocks were formed

The Road To Winter Analysis
The Road to Winter Topic 3
Mark Smith s, The Road to Winter (2016), charts the narrative of Australian teenager, Finn, who has
survived a virus that has wiped out the majority of his town. Finn is forced to survive, protecting
himself from the violent gangs in the North on his own, following the death of his parents. With
survival being the main theme of the novel, the characters in The Road to Winter exhibit their
exceptional and awful capabilities when their survival is threatened. Despite characters living in
seclusion, they will go to any means to protect their own survival. Furthermore, when Finn, Rose or
Kas lives are threatened, alternate characters will rise to their assistance, completing formidable acts
of bravery to save them. Finally, Ramage displays his awful capabilities, threatening others survival, if
his own leadership is jeopardised.
With characters in the novel living in hiding as a result of the constant threat that the Wilder s pose,
they need to abandon their seclusion to protect their own lives, despite the possible fatalities. When
Finn is first introduced in the novel, he is living a life of secrecy, demonstrated through his first
encounter with Ray when Finn was so shocked to hear another voice . It is furthermore emphasised
with the unexpected arrival of Rose, forcing Finn to come out of the shadows and stand up to the
Wilders. When Finn is away from home looking for Kas, Rose must make her way to Ray s house,
where she is

Sarasota Real Estate Analysis
While most qualified homebuyers with a ready down payment and good credit history are more than
welcome by any Sarasota real estate agent, a real estate investor is seen as a pain. In fact, most
Sarasota real estate agents consider real estate investors a complete headache when it comes to
purchasing any property.
There are two main reasons for this...
First of all, like any businessperson, a real estate agent likes making a quick and hassle free profit.
Secondly, many real estate agents do not have the experience, expertise, or willingness to handle the
creative deals that real estate investors need.
Nevertheless, real estate investors have no choice but to use an agent because that is the only place
where they can access the Multiple ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
3. Offer the offer yourself. Sometimes real estate investors can come up with very creative offers. Try
persuading the real estate agent to allow you to present the offer directly to the seller (with the agent
present of course). You want the seller to hear the offer directly from you, as no one else can match
your precision and passion in presenting the offer. It will also allow the seller to address any questions
directly to you, instead of going through the real estate agent as a middleman.
As a real estate investor you may come across many uncooperative real estate agents. A number of
Sarasota real estate agents would prefer not to work with real estate investors because it requires more
work than simply writing up a contract and handing over the keys. Don t get discouraged
though...there are also many Sarasota real estate agents who enjoy working with real estate
investors...especially those that follow the tips above.

Fred Jones, a distant relative of yours and president of Deals R Us Brokers (DRUB), has come to you

Government Agency Analysis
During the creation of the constitution Congress was given the authority to develop a system to
conduct daily obligations to govern this nation. In 1789 Congress created the Department of State
being the first of more than 2,000 agencies and departments. The federal bureaucracy is part of the
executive branch run by the president of the United States. It is broken into four main types the
Cabinet departments, government corporations, independent agencies, and regulatory commissions.
The Cabinet department includes 15 departments that are broken into bureaus, divisions and sections
for example Department of Justice (FBI) and Homeland Security (US Customs and Border Patrol).
In addition there are also government corporations that are divided in sponsored, owned, and acquired
corporations. Government sponsored corporations like Fannie Mae and ... Show more content on

These agencies are meant to be more precise on the individual mission rather than that of a
department. The Selective Service System is an agency that provides manpower to the military in case
of an emergency (hc.org). Another famously known example is the Central Intelligence Agency(CIA)
which provides national security intelligence to US policymakers (hc.org).
The function of a regulatory commissions are to enforce laws to privately own corporations that affect
the safety and interest of the nations citizens. In fact commissions like the Federal and Drug
Administration(FDA) who enforces and administers all federal food, drug and cosmetic, and the
Nuclear Regulatory Commission who regulates and licenses all civilian nuclear facilities.
Most will say that the federal bureaucracy seems oversize and even may lack efficiency, many have
tried to change it, but have failed. Just like most things in the government everything has to have
checks and balances to avoid one entity from having all

Major Stressors In Teens Lives
What is stress actually and how do we determine who is stressed? Most of us describe stress as when
everything became too much that we are overloaded and wonder if we can cope with the amount of
pressure placed upon us. Stress actually is anything that poses challenge or a threat to our well being is
a stress. While most people took stress as something negative, it can also be a good thing as it gets you
going in life when there are problems which need to be solved as life would be dull, boring and
pointless without any stress at all. However, stresses are bad when it undermines both our mental and
physical health. In this text, I would like to focus on the major stressors in teens lives as we all know

In conclusion, teenagers especially in this modern age revolving technology, vast field of knowledge

putting more pressure on them, those people around them should give them morale support and try
helping them to handle and cope with their stress. Identifying the cause is the first step and from there
teens can learn positive ways to release stress and find resolutions to their situations. A first step in
controlling stress is identifying the good and bad stressors in their life as it helps in patronizing,

Comparing Ambiguity In Proof And Susan Glaspell s Tri
Through the struggles of everyday life, everyone attempts to establish a certain sense of order. Since
the dawn of humanity, the species has battled against the perpetual chaos that is nature itself. Men
especially, given history s mostly patriarchal structure, have strived for rule and order. Both David
Auburn s Proof, and Susan Glaspell s Trifles deal with certain women who go beyond what is
commonly known, beyond the predictable, and discover what most would not have even considered
while leaving the truth open ended. In Proof, there is an existing hierarchy of brilliant mathematical
minds, and Catherine is believed to have dissented from the known structure. Trifles involves a group
of women who use unconventional methods to unveil clues ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

He concludes that Catherine s mathematical knowledge, despite her lack of formal education, must be
due to the fact that she has learned a lot from the years she spent living with her father, and in a way
she may have his genius. Yet, Catherine fears she may tread down the path of her father s eventual
madness and dementia. Everything from her coping of loss to her sister Claire s patronizing attitude
causes her to follow logical steps to the seemingly illogical conclusion of her genius coming hand in
hand with insanity. The abstract process is explored in an analysis of the play: In life, if not in math,
the axiomatic method does not provide a good tool for predicting the future. Personality traits or genes
are not axioms pointing to some inescapable conclusion at best, they re mental ticklers, worriers, and
warnings. Nevertheless, we see Catherine trying to prove or disprove to herself that she is doomed to
repeat her father s demise (Rockmore). The central mystery of Catherine s mental stability is the very
reason for the doubt

Dual Identity In Jamaica
My boyfriend and I are planning a vacation for my birthday. While we were looking for a place to
visit, my boyfriend reconnected with his mother who lives in Jamaica. He lost contact with her after
Hurricane Allen, which caused over five thousand people to lose their homes. My boyfriend and his
family were one of them. With the excitement of hearing from his mother, we immediately planned
our trip to Jamaica. Being that I knew nothing about Jamaica, I began to research more about the
country. My boyfriend told me that I should treat Jamaica as if it were my home. He stated that like
African Americans, Jamaicans have been through a lot as well. The problems that the Jamaicans went
through, forced them to want to reclaim their identity as well as their love for their country. My
boyfriend then began to show me that although Jamaica has been oppressed through colonization, they
regained their independence and synthesize the ideas of colonization and their culture to form their
dual identity. The dual identity allows Jamaica to not only hold on to their African past but also
function with the new changes made by Europe to be a successful country. My boyfriend explained to
me that the dual identity is a combination of both the European and African culture. He says it is very
similar on how we, as African Americans, still hold onto traditional African customs and combine
them with our American culture. He explained to me that it is the same concept, except on a bigger
scale.

Allegory Of A Cave
In Allegory of a Cave , Plato has the reader imagine a cave in which people are confined to only being
able to look at the walls. In this cave, they can see shadows which are the extent to their knowledge of
the outside world. He explains how to them this is their world and what they see and hear is all that
they can know, so he then explains how if one man were to escape he will be able to truly see how
great the world actually is. Moreover, as he returns to the cave everyone else calls him a liar
convinced that their reality is real. This allegory shows how there is a battle between what is truth and
what is fantasy and one has to be able to learn how to decipher between them. When considering
Miranda from Sexy it can be said that as a

Green Phytoplankton Research Paper
New studies have shown that the tiny, little sea creatures known as plankton can have a huge impact
on the atmosphere and could even help cool the earth. The Southern Ocean
(https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Southern_Ocean) has nearly no human influence enacted upon it,
therefore making it a perfect isolated area for scientists and researchers to study. The new revelation
could lead to a better way to help combat global warming.
The Green Phytoplankton
Green phytoplankton (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Phytoplankton) get their color from chlorophyll,
the chemical that makes plants green as well as lets them absorb sunlight. The byproduct of the
plankton s absorption of sunlight is a chemical compound called dimethyl sulfide. This compound gets
released by the plankton and is then turned into a sort of sulfate aerosol that rises into the atmosphere.
This particular aerosol attracts ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
How Rain can cool the Earth
Rain falls when clouds contain so much moisture that they can t hold anymore and force it down to the
ground. While all the moisture is still in the cloud, though, it acts as a sort of deflector for sunlight.
Each individual drop of water that is in a cloud catch the sunlight, and therefore the solar radiation,
and keep it from coming through to the earth. Clouds that are very bright have a lot of moisture in
them that is catching the sunlight and deflecting it back.
This deflection of sunlight, and more importantly the solar radiation, keeps the heat off of the earth.
This breaks up the constant bombarding of heat that comes from the sun that breaks down the
atmosphere. Basically, the more moisture that is up in the clouds, the more that it will cool the earth.
Because green phytoplankton release a chemical that brings more moisture into the clouds, they help
cool the earth by proxy.
The Study in the Southern

On the website Expat Info Desk, an article titled Living in Mexico: A Guide to Moving to Mexico as an Expat gives people who are considering moving from their country a gist of what it is like to live in Mexico. Allegedly, one of the most beneficial factors in moving to Mexico is the difference in currency, that allows middle class Americans to enjoy a high standard of living with lower prices for basic necessities such as grocery items (Living in Mexico). The drastic difference between a US Dollar and a Mexican Peso allow young families to adapt to the lifestyle in Mexico easily with only a small amount of saved up money. Another factor that families focus on when moving is what city to settle in and how expensive housing will be in those locations. Although places like Mexico City are far more expensive than other towns and cities, for the most part housing in Mexico is relatively cheap, in comparison making moderately sized properties the same amount as a small clustered property in the United States (Living in Mexico). Comparison of Two Mathematics Curricula Comparison of Two Mathematics Curricula Math teachers have become increasingly disenchanted with the traditional materials they are forced to teach due to the existing California standards. The goal of the teachers is not that they need to change the standards, but there needs to be a better curriculum to adequately bring students up to those standards. Current curricula follow the letter of the standards that California has implemented, but they sometimes seem to be based on nothing substantial which would give credibility to the course of study. If a curriculum is developed to meet a set of standards, that is exactly what it will do. However, the goal should be to not only meet but to exceed the stated standards; or, at the very least, give students the ability to go beyond the standard. In this argument, the California standards are the lowest rung of the ladder that the state should encourage students to climb. Yes, the student will have a basic understanding of mathematical concepts if they meet the standard, but they will not have any impetus to reach beyond that and achieve something more. In this research paper, two different curricula possibilities are examined for their relative merits; one which is meant to just meet the recommended California mathematics standard as set forth by the Common Core State Standards Initiative (2005), and one which is recommended by a practical body, the National Science Foundation (NSF), to encourage students to achieve a higher, ... The collision theory states that the rate of reaction depends on how often and how hard the reacting particles collide. Reacting particles need to collide with each other to be able to react. The more collisions there are then the faster the rate of reaction will be. The following methods of increasing the rate of reaction can be explained by increasing the number of collisions between the reacting particles: * Temperature When the temperature is increased in a reaction the particles begin to move around much quicker. This means that when they collide with each other they will collide harder. * Catalyst A catalyst works by giving the reacting particles a surface to stick to on which they can collide with each other on. This also increases the number of collisions between the particles. * Size If one of the reactants is a solid it will have a smaller surface area than a solid that is broken up into smaller pieces. This allows the particles in the solution to have a bigger area to collide in. * Concentration A more concentrated solution means there are more reactant particles moving about amongst the water particles. It was the One Ring that would grant absolute power. But, as the story goes, Sauron s plan was discovered before he could complete it, and the other races (the elves and dwarves) resisted him. Men were more easily corrupted by the rings, and the rulers of men at that time became Ringwraiths, the most powerful and fearsome of Sauron s servants. Try persuading the real estate agent to allow you to present the offer directly to the seller (with the agent present of course). You want the seller to hear the offer directly from you, as no one else can match your precision and passion in presenting the offer. It will also allow the seller to address any questions directly to you, instead of going through the real estate agent as a middleman. As a real estate investor you may come across many uncooperative real estate agents. • 47. Dual Identity In Jamaica My boyfriend and I are planning a vacation for my birthday. While we were looking for a place to visit, my boyfriend reconnected with his mother who lives in Jamaica. He lost contact with her after Hurricane Allen, which caused over five thousand people to lose their homes. My boyfriend and his family were one of them. With the excitement of hearing from his mother, we immediately planned our trip to Jamaica. Being that I knew nothing about Jamaica, I began to research more about the country. My boyfriend told me that I should treat Jamaica as if it were my home. He stated that like African Americans, Jamaicans have been through a lot as well. The problems that the Jamaicans went through, forced them to want to reclaim their identity as well as their love for their country. My boyfriend then began to show me that although Jamaica has been oppressed through colonization, they regained their independence and synthesize the ideas of colonization and their culture to form their dual identity. The dual identity allows Jamaica to not only hold on to their African past but also function with the new changes made by Europe to be a successful country. My boyfriend explained to me that the dual identity is a combination of both the European and African culture. He says it is very similar on how we, as African Americans, still hold onto traditional African customs and combine them with our American culture. He explained to me that it is the same concept, except on a bigger scale. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Southern Ocean (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Southern_Ocean) has nearly no human influence enacted upon it, therefore making it a perfect isolated area for scientists and researchers to study. The Green Phytoplankton Green phytoplankton (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Phytoplankton) get their color from chlorophyll, the chemical that makes plants green as well as lets them absorb sunlight. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... How Rain can cool the Earth Rain falls when clouds contain so much moisture that they can t hold anymore and force it down to the ground. While all the moisture is still in the cloud, though, it acts as a sort of deflector for sunlight. Each individual drop of water that is in a cloud catch the sunlight, and therefore the solar radiation, and keep it from coming through to the earth. Clouds that are very bright have a lot of moisture in them that is catching the sunlight and deflecting it back. This deflection of sunlight, and more importantly the solar radiation, keeps the heat off of the earth. This breaks up the constant bombarding of heat that comes from the sun that breaks down the atmosphere. Basically, the more moisture that is up in the clouds, the more that it will cool the earth. Because green phytoplankton release a chemical that brings more moisture into the clouds, they help cool the earth by proxy. The Study in the Southern ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
