My Best Friend Essay Writing
Crafting an essay on the topic of "My Best Friend" may initially seem like a straightforward task,
considering the familiarity most people have with the subject. After all, who wouldn't want to
celebrate the bond with their closest companion? However, as the writer delves into the process,
complexities arise that demand a delicate balance of emotions, anecdotes, and introspection.
The difficulty lies in capturing the essence of a friendship in a way that resonates with the
reader, steering clear of clichГ©s and generic descriptions. The challenge is to transcend the
superficial and explore the intricacies that make the friendship unique. Striking the right balance
between sentimentality and objectivity is a tightrope walk, as too much emotion may come off
as saccharine, while too little might render the essay unengaging.
Furthermore, selecting the most significant moments and qualities to highlight becomes a
meticulous task. A friendship is a tapestry woven with countless threads of shared experiences,
inside jokes, and mutual support. Deciding which threads to pull into focus requires careful
consideration to create a coherent and compelling narrative.
The essay must also avoid becoming a mere catalogue of positive attributes, as authenticity
demands an acknowledgment of challenges and conflicts. A genuine reflection on the ups and
downs of the friendship adds depth and relatability to the narrative but demands a delicate touch
to avoid oversharing or veering into negativity.
In essence, crafting a "My Best Friend" essay involves not only narrating personal experiences
but also understanding the broader implications of friendship. The challenge is to transcend the
individual narrative and convey universal truths about human connections, making the essay not
just a personal reflection but a resonant piece that others can connect with.
In conclusion, the difficulty in writing an essay on the topic of "My Best Friend" lies in
navigating the intricate web of emotions, experiences, and reflections that define a profound
friendship. It requires a nuanced approach to storytelling and a keen understanding of the
universal aspects of human connection.

My Heart
Tricia swung the door open amid this cliffhanger and I begged for more
information. As it happened, Tricia had moved our friends to the other side of the
bar to leave the two of us alone, while still maintaining a clear view of our the
drama unfolding between myself and Mr. Wonderful. Love was in the air and it
was hijacking my soul. My heart had become its own planet spinning on its axis
too fast for me to feel my the floor below me and I still don t know how I kept my
balance, especially to the point of dancing the night away with the girls, as Mr.
Wonderful watched. Something was missing; since moving back to Southern
California every attempt made to court me had made me literally sick to my stomach.

Knowing he saw this outing as a date, I attempted to get to know him while letting
him pursue me. I told him I was under the influence of aliens, not just the drinks he
bought for me. I notice a young woman with her jacket tied to her waist. There was
a bright yellow design on the jacket appearing on her behind. I mentioned the
apparition to Mr.Wonderful and insisted that he look at her butt. He refused, and
this was curious. I persisted until he said, I am here with you, I am not going to
look at another woman. His words seared into my heart like a flame igniting a
rapid pace and blood flow that surged through my entire body. Despite this magical
feeling, I was determined not to get swept away and over a cliff. I took selfies and
sent them to Finesse since she couldn t be there with all of us. I took a photo of me
and Mr. Wonderful. The expression on his face, the childlike hope on Christmas
morning, spoke volumes. I kicked off one of my Birkenstocks so I could show
him that even my feet had wrinkles of age. He stroked the back of my calf while
looking not at my foot but into my eyes. This was the moment, in unison with many
moments, I was sure my body and my heart were in full agreement. This was also
the time of the night, that I was certain he was touching me not by accident Galaxy
was not on my lap and Mr. Wonderful had not consumed any alcohol. The veil had
Essay about How Building Contracts are Administered
A contract is an agreement between two parties. Contract law is the main area
which building contracts are administered. The legal aspect of a building contract is
contained in written conditions either of a general or special nature. The two parties
agree to work within the conditions set down and are obliged to adhere to them or
suffer penalties which are either stated within the contract or which are implied by
the nature of the contract. Contracts of this nature are legally binding on both parties
and a judgment given against either party carries the force of the law under which the
contract is enacted. (McLangan, 1991). The law of contractwill applies only when
either one the of party has breached the contract or do something which... Show more

In order to establish am entitlement to substantial damages for breach of contract the
injured part must establish that the actual loss has been caused by the breach; and
the type of loss is recognized as giving an entitlement to compensation; and the loss

of contract can be established even if there is no actual loss. In that case there will
only be an entitlement to nominal damages.
Negligence is the most important field of tort law as it governs most activities of
modern society. There are three elements to establish negligence, first is a duty of
care must exist between the person injured and the person responsible for that
injury. Secondly, must conduct of the defendant fell short of that duty of care. For
the last, it s the resultant damages (Cooke, 1989). There are three branches of the
law of torts: strict liability for the escape of dangerous substances, private nuisance
and trespass. All of these are direct relevance to the construction industry. Strict
liability, at common law landowners are protected under the principle of Rylands v.
Fletcher against damages caused by escape of substances resulting from some special
use bringing with it increased danger to others, not only the ordinary use of the land
or such use as is proper for the general benefit to the community. Private nuisance, it is
the action that will cause disturbance to other
Designing An Innovative Hotel Building Design

An Interview At A Social Service Centre Essay
1.Introduction In this report I will identify and critique an interview of important
skills and lack of them towards a client by a social service practitioner. Within this
report I will identify positive and negative aspects that affect the efficiency of the
Help process. This meeting is held at a Social service centre by Barbara. It is the
first meeting between the pracitioner and her client JinLing, a Chiniese migrant who
is unhappy with her job situation. 2.Micro Skills 2.1Identification of Micro Skills
The micro skills that are identified in this conversation are effectively used to
enhance the client interaction. The first positive aspect is the use of door openers.
Barbara offers a refreshment at the beginning of the interview and opens up the
conservation with icebreaker comments about the weather. This is an effective way
of increasing the clients comfortability as well as getting the client to talk. The next
important micro skill that Barbara does, is explaining her role and the services role at
the beginning of the interview. In this, Barbara also explains to the client about
confidentiatlity. Barbara effectively explains confidentiality and her ability to hold
information which gives the client assurance of confidence. After asking the client
about herself, Barbara uses minimal encouragers, such as nodding, and repeating last
words to show attentive skills through brief indictaions she is listening. These are
very natural and do not divert the clients
Preventing Alcoholism
Introduction Alcoholism affects all elements of health. Overuse of alcohol affects
physical health as it affects the functioning of the liver; mental health as it affects
the ability to think clearly and coherently; emotional health as it affects the ability
to recognise and express emotions correctly. Social health is affected as alcohol
may affect a person s ability to create and maintain relationships, finally and most
importantly it affects societal health as the individual s actions can have an adverse
affect on everyone around them. Alcohol related injuries and diseases are the cause
of 207, 800 National Health Service (NHS) admissions in 2006 compared to 93, 500

The Piccadilly Project is a supportive and informative leaflet, outlining the services
the organisation provides both to people with alcohol problems and their friends
and relatives. It also focuses on drinking guidelines for the alcohol user to make
drinking alcohol safer. It provides diagrams showing weekly alcohol unit
consumption as either low risk, hazardous or harmful for both men and women. It
also provides a telephone number and map with directions to the organisation s
office and their opening hours. The colour red is used in the leaflet for the front
cover, the subtitles and the harmful section of the diagram, this indicates danger to
the reader and reinforces the point that over consumption of alcohol is dangerous.
Safer Communities is more of a supportive and preventative leaflet as it provides
details of the risks to health of excess alcohol consumption in order for the reader to
understand their drinking and guidelines on how to drink less. It provides a quiz
allowing the reader to assess whether it would be advisable to see further advice on
alcohol consumption, it includes pictures of alcohol inside the leaflet and corks on
the front cover to grab and hold the reader s attention. Both leaflets health promotion
strategies are appropriate to an extent, but neither are perfect. The Safer Communities

Research Paper On Asimov
Asimov was born between October 4, 1919 and January 2, 1920[1] in Petrovichi near
Klimovichi, then Gomel Governorate in the Russian Soviet Federative Socialist
Republic (now Smolensk Oblast, Russia) to Anna Rachel (nГ©e Berman) and Judah
Asimov, a family of Jewish millers. His exact date of birth within that range is
unknown, but Asimov himself celebrated it on January 2.[1] The familyname derives
from a word for winter crops, in which his great grandfather dealt. This word is
spelled озимые (ozimye) in Russian, and азімыя (azimiya) in
Belarusian. Phonetically, both words are almost identical because in Russian Рћ in
the first unstressed syllable is always pronounced as Рђ . Accordingly, his name
originally was Рсаак Озимов (Isaak Ozimov) in Russian; however, he

Since his parents always spoke Yiddish and English with him, he never learned
Russian,[19] but he remained fluent in Yiddish as well as English. Growing up in
Brooklyn, New York, Asimov taught himself to read at the age of five, and his mother
got him into first grade a year early by claiming he was born on September 7,
1919.[20][21] (In third grade he learned about the error and insisted on an official
correction to January 2.[22]) Asimov wrote of his father, My father, for all his
education as an Orthodox Jew, was not Orthodox in his heart , noting that he didn t
recite the myriad prayers prescribed for every action, and he never made any
attempt to teach them to me .[23] After becoming established in the U.S. his
parents owned a succession of candy stores, in which everyone in the family was
expected to work. The candy stores sold newspapers and magazines, a fact that
Asimov credited as a major influence in his lifelong love of the written word, as it
allowed him an unending supply of new reading material as a child that he could not
have otherwise afforded. He became a naturalized U.S. citizen in 1928 at the age of
Analysis Of Donald Trump And The Injustice Of The 43...
In this essay, I argue the government separating rather than bridging the United States.
The main points I show in my essay are the language being used by Donald Trump
and the injustice of the 43 missing students in Mexico. We should be concerned about
the government because it has gone corrupt letting people run for President such as
Donald Trumpthat is targeting minorities. In Mexiconot helping the parents solve the
case of their innocent children is a problem when the government should be doing
their job. This causes violence amongst people and the government when we should
leaning on them for support and protection. We should be concerned about the

What has the government done to make communities and families improve? Why do

Literature Review In writing about my topic I read many articles from Goldman that
were about Donald Trump and the series of The 43 Missing Students. I read the
articles to help me understand more of the history of Donald Trump and the 43
missing students. The reading helped with my research because it answered my
question and it backed up my opinion. It helps address my thesis stamen because it
brings more main points and truth to my opinion.
Methodology
For this essay I conducted library research such as looking into Ebsco research
premier for articles on Donald Trump s current governmental campaign and the 43
missing student s unknown disappearance trying to make their community better. As
well, reading articles from Francisco Goldman in The New Yorker. Additionally,
interviewing a student to see their perspective of the government separating the
United States instead of bridging it.
Analysis
My research is important because it has to do with the well being of people and
bringing justice to innocent families with evidence showing the separating of the
United States. This is shown by how Donald Trump has caused people in his rallies
to fight It was the stench of overt racism, and of the
Battle of Marathon This essay talks about the great...
In 490 B.C.E. the Battle of Marathon was a brief but important event in the war
between the Greek city states and The Persian Empire. The results of the battle had
unforeseen effects on Athens and the future of Western Civilization. The Greek
Golden Age , centred in Athens, brought about new forms of art, the foundations of
future philosophy and redirected literature and drama. The achievements of the
Athenians during this period were directly connected to the inspiration and prestige
(which later translated into power) fuelled by the events at Marathon. How the events
of a single day changed the entire course of Western Civilization is hard to fathom but
obvious when one looks at the aftermath of that fateful event.

The victory at Marathon and the successful defence of the city, gave the Athenians a
sense of moral superiority and pride. In later battles of the Persian War, at
Thermopylai and Salamis, the highly regarded Spartans and those of the Peloponnese
were largely in control of strategic moves. Although still a major force in every battle,
Athens and her allies were outnumbered and thus followed Spartan command. After
the second occupation of Athens after the battle of Salamis, the Athenians gave Sparta
an ultimatum due to a lack of Spartan support. If the Peloponnesians wanted Athens
navy, they must save Athens land. Because the Athenians had more damage to
recover from it brought stronger confidence and overall pride for them once the
city got back on its feet. The Spartans, Corinthians and other Peloponnesian allies
now had reason to fear Athens growing naval power and its capabilities now that
the city was repaired and invigorated with a renewed sense of pride. This is the
point that we see the beginnings of a shift in the balance of power and influence
between the city states. When the Ionian states adopted the Athenians as leaders, as
opposed to the Spartans who had been pre eminent for a long time, the rise of the
Athenian influence began to show. For the purpose of protecting all Greeks from a
further Persian attack, a league was formed, of which Athens was now the leader. The
league included

As technology allows for faster forms of communication, the Untied States
government is quick to ensure that it can monitor the most popular forms of
communication. Telephone calls and Internet communications are the standard
medium of expression today, and the methods that may be used to monitor
communication through these mediums are very developed. The telephone is a
relatively simple technology, so monitoring someone s telephone calls is a rather
simple task. Mostly, only very large service providers maintain large networks, and so
in order to monitor someone, the government can easily determine the specifics by
contacting only a few companies. However, Internet communication is far more
technologically advanced, and it is much more difficult to monitor people s Internet
communications than it is to monitor their telephone conversations. As the Internet is
a relatively new creation, there is little centralization, and even finding someone
online can be difficult enough. Still, the Federal Bureau of Investigation has software,
nicknamed Carnivore, that it can use to monitor all of the Internet activity of a
suspected felon, and the suspected felon s Internet Service Provider is required to

Thomas Paine s Expository Essay
Have you ever wondered why literature refers to history? Well, most literature is
taken from prior history. Unless of course it is a fiction story, but even then there are
still some historical facts involved in those stories. Literature portrays a lot of history.
Without literature we probably would not know how the United Statesof America
came to be, who helped it happen, or when it happened. As a citizen, those are very
pertinent facts to know. Some literature that has to do with historywould be the

False Imprisonment Without Legal Justification
I.Can Steven Bender demonstrate that Stan and Linda Kremer ( Kremers ) are liable
for false imprisonment when they sent him to the downstairs basement with no
access to phone service and would not allow his friends to come on to their property?
False imprisonment occurs when there is confinement without legal justification. The
elements of false imprisonment are the restraint of the plaintiff against his or her will
and the unlawfulness of the restraint. When looking at restraint against his/her will
the courts will look at whether the restraint was a total restraint of liberty with no
opportunity to leave. Walker v. Hanke, 992 S.W.2d 925, 935 (Mo. Ct. App. 1999).
This analysis will focus on whether Bender was restrained against his will.
A.Was Steven Bender restrained against his will when the Kremers ordered him to go
downstairs to the room he stayed in at their house without the opportunity to call his
friends or have the friends come over to help him move out?
Courts hold that restraint occurs with the total restraint of liberty and no opportunity
to leave. Id. In Walker, the court held that there was no confinement because there
was no total restraint of the plaintiff s liberty. Id. at 936. The court found that the
Hankes had built a fence around their yard at Mr. Walker s request. Id. at 935. After
the parties had a falling out about some settlement money, the Hankes placed chains

African Americans During Reconstruction
The best way to predict the future is to create it. Abraham Lincoln. The Union did
various things to help the South during the Reconstruction. They rebuilt roads, got
farms operating once again, and built schools for African American children and
adults. Eventually the economy in the South began to recover. Reconstruction was a
period of repair after the civil war. Freed African Americans were protected by the
government during reconstruction by the Freedmen s Bureau, despite the South s
bitterness towards the new changes. Overall, reconstruction was positive because it
brought many affirmative changes for African Americans. First of all, the actions
taken by the government to ensure that Freedmen in the South were protected during
the reconstruction was the establishment of the Freedmen s Bureau. The Freedmen s
Bureau was established in March 1865, which helped African Americans achieve
economic stability and secure political freedoms. Some of the things the Freedmen s
Bureau did was ensure that the former slaves earned fair and equal wages. Thus, it
created specific courts to settle disputes between black workers and white employers.
In addition to this, the Freedmen s Bureau established schools for African Americans.

to this, racism was still a dominant force in the South. The Ku Klux Klan and other

Biography of David Jenkins
David Jenkins, a Christian Science writer, believes that God created planet Earth
with a climate plan in mind. He references from the Bible to support his claims.
Jenkins has a thought that just because God made something does not mean it was
meant to be used up by man, but maybe to remain where it was originally placed.
He explains that the high use of coal by people seems to be what is causing the
increase in global temperatures and we need to reduce our need for fossil fuels by
finding better alternatives to energy. Jenkins acknowledges that other parts of life
are also being affected by such high temperatures like food shortages and water
droughts. He believes that religion and nature go hand in hand to make the world
work. Mr. Jenkins believes we need to respect God s design for our planet and take
into consideration how it was intended to be treated.
The article God s Climate Plan addresses several different reasons for David Jenkins
way of thinking. The first reason is by taking oil and coal from the earth in large
quantities and excessively burning these resources people are disturbing the natural
balance of the planet.
According to Sisters of the Holy Cross Congregation Justice Committee Our overuse
of fossil fuels and rampant deforestation are overwhelming the earth s ability to
absorb carbon dioxide thickening the greenhouse of gases shielding the planet and
disturbing heat flows between earth and space. These findings leave scientist to

The Basic Principles Underlying Peer Observation
In this article I shall look at the basic principles underlying peer observation and its
value to institutions and to individual teachers.
What is peer observation?
Quality control or professional development?
How should peer observation be organised?
What are the advantages of peer observation for teachers?
What are the advantages of peer observation for institutions?
What is peer observation?
Peer observation is the observation of teachers by teachers, usually, though not
always, on a reciprocal basis.
Pairings may be mentor/novice or experienced teacher/experienced teacher. In the
first case the focus will be more clearly on helping the novice to develop their
teaching skills both by observing and being observed by an experienced colleague. In
the second case, the objective is to provide opportunities for experienced teachers to
reflect on their teaching in a calm and private environment.
Quality control or professional development?
Quality control
Peer observation may be used by an institution as part of its quality assurance
procedures. In this model, teachers are asked to assess and report formally on the
performance of their colleagues according to criteria set out by the institution.
Observation reports form part of the ongoing evaluation of the teacher s performance
and may influence decisions on promotion or tenure.
There are clear advantages to this type of peer observation. An experienced and
competent teacher may be perceived by the institution as the

Industrial Revolution in America and Russia The industrial revolution was a tradition
way to build new manufacturing, and it appeared in the eighteen century. It was
included manufacturing of many goods that people need them and used them around
the world such as, machines, chemical manufacturing, and elements. It is the first
way that was produced the modern materials for using, and it helped people to have
easier life with those productions that they provided. The most important
industrialization that happened in the eighteen century, was in the United States and
Russia. First of all, the American industrialization began in 1820, in New England,

The Well Being of Children Impacted by a Parent with Cancer: An Integrative
Review was published in collaboration with Julia Morris, Angelita Martini, and
David Preen. In the summer of 2016, the three authors finalized their research
project and published it in the scientific journal, Supportive Care in Cancer. Julia
Morris, Angelita Martini, and David Preen are all editors in the Supportive Care in
Cancer Medical Journal and also affiliated with the Centre for Health Services
Research School of Population Health at the University of Western Australia in
Crawley, Australia. This article is beneficial to the initial research inquiry, How does
Cancer AffectFamilyMembers, because it specifically relates to the children in the
family. This article places an emphasis on the psychological and mental effects cancer
has on children, specific coping mechanisms, and how this traumatic disease changes
a child for the better. Cancer is an atrocious disease that affects both the children and
parents. However, in certain cases, cancer helps bring out the best in maturing
children.
The Well Being of Children Impacted by a Parentwith Cancer: An Integrative Review
focuses on how parental cancer affects the growth and maturity of children. The
authors had a purpose behind this research, generated a method to follow, revised
their results, and established a conclusion for their research. The main purpose of this
article was to interview children to determine the how children are
Job Interview
The interview process is something we have all gone through in order to get any job.
It may not be our dream job but it is a job and we all have to do this process in order
to even be able to start working. In Katy Piotrowski s article Preparing for the Job

One of the responsibilities is doing an admission if the admission nurse is not
available to do so. When doing an admission you have to make sure that you have
all of the information that is needed for insurance and to make sure the patient is
going to get all of the care that they are going to need to help keep them
comfortable. Another responsibility is making sure that all of the patients have all
of the medication that they need to help keep them comfortable. Keeping patients
comfortable until they pass away is what hospice does. Another responsibility that
nurses have to do is to make sure that all of the charts are up to date and to check
for any changes in the patients. Next Piotrowski said To think of other experiences

Niccolo Machiavelli And Socrates
Two of history s greatest political philosophers, Niccolo Machiavelli and Socrates,
have very profound, yet contrasting beliefs on how a prince should assume and
make use of their power. Not only do the two disagree over how someone with
authority over a state should rule, but their contrasting beliefs regarding the
fundamental values of society, such as honesty and liberty, expose just how
different the political mentalities of the two enlightened thinkers are. According to
Plato, Socrates core beliefs are founded on the preservation of truth, maintenance
of justice, and the importance of wisdom among all members of society. Socrates,
who s idealistic set of values focuses on the importance of justice and wisdom,
forbids any unjust actions taken by a prince solely to maintain his power. On the
contrary, Machiavelli s ideal prince is cunning, deceiving, and strategic, taking any
action necessary to maintain his authority and the prestige of his state. Therefore,
Socrates would vehemently oppose the unjust actions taken by Machiavelli s ideal
prince to preserve power, being that his values of honesty and morality would be
unreservedly disobeyed. Moreover, Socrates would disapprove of any political
system in which the prince stands by, and takes action in adherence to,
Machiavellian values, or lack thereof. Machiavelli s beliefs on doing good vastly
differs from that of Socrates, who lives his life in pursuit of truth, understanding, and
a perfect soul, rather than reputation and honor (Apology, 29e). Instead of valuing
honesty and morality, Machiavelli believes that men who have authority over a state
are justified in taking any action necessary, even murder, to maintain their power. He
argues that men are naturally poor decision makers, and almost always let
conscience lead them into making detrimental decisions. Machiavelli argues that
anyone who abandons what is, for what should be, pursues his downfall rather than
his preservation (Prince p.62). This quote Austin Hanover GVPT 241 0105 Paper 1
10/13/17 2 shows that Machiavelli views the concept of truth not as something that is
necessary among all men, like Socrates does, but as an action that should sometimes
be avoided by a prince, because it often
Top Competitors in The Personal Computer Industry
The PC industry is highly competitive and constantly changing as technology evolves
and customer needs change. Some of the top competitors in the PC industry are IBM,
Hewlett Packard, Dell and Apple. Theses rivals are constantly jockeying for the top
competitor s position. They compete in prices, product innovation, advertising, etc.
In the early 1980s the top competitor in this industry was IBM due to its open
system and ease of being cloned. During this same time, Apple struggled to keep
pace and changed its competitive strategy multiple times. From 1980 to 1993 Apple
positioned itself in the computer industry as the company that provides easy to use
desktops with superior software and hardware. Unlike its competitors, Apple did ...

Despite these initiatives, Apple s competitive range was mediocre compared to its
competitors.
The next strategy was to return to an old business practice which was Apples
premium prices. But this strategy, like the others, did not boost the company s
competitive advantage.
In 1997, Steve Jobs returned to Apple as an advisory and with the purposes of
reshaping the product line. The changes made by Jobs resulted in increased sales and
$309 million in profits. Job changed the mindset of Apples management and
development team. He encourage them to have the think different management style
that promotes the development of products that are ahead of the technology and
design curve, and a creative retail strategy. It is this strategy that would eventually
make Apple the best selling company in the PC industry.
Jobs also changed the pricing strategy and focused on value based pricing that
provided customers with premium products at a premium price. Product pricing has
specifically set Apple apart from its competitors. Apple believed that they could
create demand for their products which would give the company power over prices
through product differentiation, innovative advertising, ensured brand loyalty, and
hype around the launch of new products (Nair, 2014). Apple s aggressive competitive
strategy paid off and in 2013, the company was named the World s Most Innovative
Company.

Utilitarian Greatest Happiness Principle Sparknotes
1)In this chapter, author discusses the principle of consequences which leads our way
of reasoning how we should act. He discusses utilitarian and natural law theories
which have different views on what an individual should base his or her decisions. As
well, the author points out to various scientists and philosophers who attempt to
identify which animals have consciousness and purpose in life. Some argue that we
should not use animals as they were made for our consumption, while others believe
that only a certain type of animals can feel pain. Thus, in this chapter, the author
discusses whether humans should consider animal s well being as more important
aspect than the pleasure from using them.
2)I found particularly interesting the argument made by Singer that we are

Thus, it states that the most essential reasoning which should direct an action or a
decision of an individual is the consequence that will bring positive feelings to the
majority of humans.
2)Singer is convinced that animals suffering outweighs humans pleasure from using
them. He suggests that animals have similar interests to human such as to avoid pain
or suffering and that we should respect it. Thus, we should be vegetarians in order to
liberate animals from suffering that human beings bring to them when exploiting.
3)From the economic point of view, poor areas have low prices on property,
because nobody is willing to live in those regions. Thus, pollution will not decrease
its cost, since poor areas are not going to bring profit anyway. At the same time, rich
areas have a high cost on property, because it has higher demand. Thus, polluting rich
areas will result in greater damage for the economical well being of a country, than
polluting already low cost
Problem Areas Nonnative Speakers of English Often Have...
INTRODUCTION
Pronunciation is an essential part of language. According to Fries (1945), the main
problem in learning a new language is not the vocabulary but it is instead the
mastery of the sound system, which is to understand the stream of speech and to
hear distinctive sound features. Pronunciation is important to avoid
misunderstandings when communicating. It is seen as a prerequisite for the
development of speaking skill (Celce Murcia Goodwin, 1991). Pronunciation,
according to Microsoft Encarta 2007, means the way in which a sound, word, or
language is articulated, especially in conforming to an accepted standard .
According to Hinofotis and Bailey (1981, as cited by Celce Murcia and Goodwin,
1991), one will not be able to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Word stress is important in English since misunderstandings can occur because of
mistakes in word stress. Stressing on wrong points in English sometimes makes
words in English meaningless. For example, if one is given two words metal and
motel with stress on the second syllable, it will be pronounced /mә tæl/ and
/ma:tУ™l/. When this pronunciation is applied in a sentence like, I carried the metal
to the motel , then the sentence becomes confusing and meaningless.
Another feature of the English language that should be noted by nonnative speakers
is that pronouncing the same word with stresses on different syllables can alter the
meaning of the word. For example, if the word permit is stressed on the first
syllable, it will become noun, and if on the second syllable, the word becomes a verb.
According to Mennen (2006), second language learners often have problems placing
stresses at the correct syllable, especially in the beginning of the learning process.
This is because some languages do not use stress much and some, like Japanese and
French, none at all (EnglishClub.com, 2007). This means that each syllable of words
is pronounced with equal emphasis. It would be difficult for the nonnative speakers
to identify which syllable should be stressed or not. This will lead to
misunderstandings when speaking to native speakers as they usually listen to the
stresses to understand the real message conveyed.

How Do Substances Affect The Freezing Point Of Ice
Danis Heto Have you ever wondered that if you put ice into a drink, the substances
in the drink will make it melt faster. This is exactly the case, I will be seeing how
the substances that we use in our everyday life affect the melting point of ice. I will
be looking at what causes the freezing point depression, how substances affect the
freezing point of ice, and the purposes of changing the freezing point of ice. The
melting point of ice is the given temperaturethat a substance will melt, and by
lowering this it makes the ice melt quicker. By learning this you can understand
which substance to use to melt the ice off of your sidewalk, or even when making
homemade ice cream. Freezing point depression is a property in solutions that

For an outreach program to have supporters, it has to get itself out there. People living

Importance Of Effective Communication
Effective Communication According to my former employment experience within
the tourism and hospitality industry at Highest International Standards , as a Tour
Agent, my core focus was on customer service. I have acquired strong communication
skills working in a multicultural environment. Interacting with many others who have
different ethnic backgrounds was a challenge and a whirlwind of languages, beliefs,
and behaviors. As a proactive employee and active listener, I have adapted to using
professional communicationskills efficiently both orally and in writing. The culture of
the business was to serve customers with the highest level of customer service by
providing travel accommodations in optional tours and hotel reservations. Though I
ve encountered variations of communication barriers, I strived to be a moral
communicator by listening critically to understand both my internal and external
customers. Therefore, working hard as an effective team player, I ve managed to
excel with my interpersonal and client relations skills.
A number of barriers can block or distort messages before they reach the intended
audience, (Bovee Thill, 2018, p. 11). Two main types of barriers of communication
that I ve experienced were noise distractions and channel breakdown . H.I.S. generally
used the organizational structure and basic model of communication. Therefore, most
interactions with my co workers were person to person communication, thus the

For centuries peoples have been dancing as an art form that allows them to
physically express themselves without using words. These are times when simple
dignity of movement can fulfill the function of a volume of words (Humphrey,

message that is related is strong and clear. When you understand the types of dance
the message is clear. I will attempt to examine the different forms of dance. We will

The Color Red In Toni Morrison s Beloved
Beloved was written in the 1900s by Toni Morrison. This novel explores memories,
flashbacks, and nightmares. Morrison chose to write this novel based on a true
story. The story of Margaret Garner. Garner was an African American slave who
chose to do something terribly wrong. She murdered her oldest daughter, so she
would not be enslaved. In the eyes of some, they might praise her, but some might
find it ungodly. Garner also tried to kill her other children, but she was unsuccessful
in her attempt. Garner did not want her children returned to a life of slavery (Gist). A
growing number of people, including many Ohioans, began to view slavery as an
inhumane institution by the late 1850s (Gist). In the novelBeloved, Sethe, the
protagonist, is... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I mean, even if I don t think it, even if I die, the picture of what I did, or knew, or
saw is still out there. Right in the place where it happened.
(Morrison 36). The final literary device found in Beloved is symbolism. Morrison
also uses symbolism to show the effects of slavery. The biggest symbol in Beloved
is the color red. Many different things are colored red and have different meanings
to the characters. In one part the reader reads about a red heart. The red heart
represents love, passion, and life. Beloved. He said it, but she did not go. She
moved closer with a footfall he didn t hear and he didn t hear the whisper that the
flakes of rust made either as they fell away from the seams of his tobacco tin. So
when the lid gave he didn t know it. What he knew was that when he reached the
inside part he was saying,
Red heart. Red heart, over and over again. Softly and then so loud it woke Denver,
then Paul D himself. Red heart. Red heart. Red heart. (Morrison 117). The color red
also represents death.
Every dawn she saw the dawn, but never acknowledged or remarked its color. There
was something wrong with that. It was as though one day she saw red baby blood,
another day

The Midwestern Crime Wave Essay
The Midwestern Crime Wave All across the nation during the Great Depression
people were jobless, homeless, and starving; nowhere was this truer than in the
American Midwest. Not only did the farms and cities of the Midwest have to deal
with the poor economic conditions but the Midwest s main source of income,
agriculture, was being ravaged by the natural phenomenon now called the Dust Bowl.
On top of low crop prices and a lack of employment farmland was ruined, went
unplanted, and was often foreclosed on. These extra difficulties left the inhabitants of
the Midwest with added resentments and frustration with businesses and government
that seemed unable or unwilling to help. Out of this extreme hardship came a group
of people who for... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This in turn made the public feel that those robbing banks and kidnapping the rich
were striking out for the poor against the wealthy. With the masses on their side
these outlaws had many supporters among the American public. Claire Potter
described the difficulty police had in obtaining information on gangsters from
everyday citizens. She wrote about police who were questioning a witness whose
only answer was to ask why we do not put all the bankers in jail who stole the
people s money? (147) On top of this, the gangsters also offered some sensation and
drama to the people of the Great Depression. Since fulfilling one s basic needs was
so difficult the public had little time or money for recreational activities. The stories
of the wild shootouts and daring holdups then gave the public something to talk
about offering a little escape from the difficulty if their daily lives. These two aspects
allowed gangsters to make many friends and find support easily while trying to elude
authorities. Armed robbery and kidnapping were the specialty of those that
participated in the Midwestern crime wave. These crimes are what made men and
women like Machine Gun Kelly, John Dillinger, Bonnie Parker, and Clyde Barrow
famous. They may all had their start in petty crime, such as stealing cars or
bootlegging, but the outlaws who seemed to gain notoriety all graduated past these
crimes quickly. According to one Dillinger biography he got his start in the sixth
grade with a

Wrestling Is Not An Easy Sport
Proffessional wrestling is not an easy sport nor a nice business. Most aspiring
wrestlers hesitate before breaking into the business. The chances of making it in
the wrestling business are very slim, yet men and women still strive to be wrestlers
everyday. Proffessional wrestling is not liek being a laywer or a doctor, it is
typically looked down upon. Many outsiders see professional wrestlers as screw
ups and failures. Pursuing the dream of being a professional wrestler is a huge
risk. Many wreslters start out training at local schools then start working the
independent scene. The independent scene is where many athleates make names
for themselves. It is a large number of small wrestling promotions throughout the
world. Most independent wrestler only get paid five dollars per match. By
working the independent scene, a wrestler is risking everything. These wrestlers
work matches night after night and travel from city to city with little to no money.
It is common to see wrestlers stick around after shows to pick up left over food
from the consession stands. For most wrestlers this is normal. The five dollars they
make from that night is used as gas money. Many wrestlers sleep in their cars or at
the building they wrestled in that night. Someone has to love wrestling to want to be
a wrestler because no one would put themselves through that much poverty and
starvation if it wasn t out of love and passion. While working the independent scene
most wrestlers hope to be seen by

Benetton Group Essay
Benetton Group is a worldwide fashion brand, located in Treviso, Italy. The real name
originates from the Benetton family who founded the business in 1965. Because the

helped Benetton gain recognition and reputation and be a worldwide fashion large.
Various messages and themes have been found in these campaigns, but the key idea
has always been focused on controversial social issues, that concern socially

Nostalgia Speech
Today, nostalgia is defined as a wistful desire to return in thought or in fact to a
former time in one s life, to one s home or homeland, or to one s family and friends;
a sentimental yearning for happiness of a former place or time (nostalgia). There are
very different views on nostalgia stemming back in history to the 17th centuryto
today. For those unfortunate souls that embraced nostalgia from the 17th century
to the 19th century, their nostalgia was viewed as a disease in which harsh
treatment should be given; however, today s nostalgia is embraced to its fullest
through objects, music, and my favorite, through pictures and video (Beck). It is
quite typical today to look around and see someone capturing a picture or filming
a video of something; all of which primarily are using their mobile devices to do
so. Today, technology has allowed society to capture something at a moment s
notice. If you are anything like me, my phone s memory card fills up pretty
quickly as I capture images of our son, our family outings, our home, or our less
than frequent vacations. These images and videos become an important part of my
life, as I want to capture these moments now to savior for a lifetime. Whereas, some
people in today s society believe that people are simply taking a picture or video of
something or some place just to say they have been somewhere or done something. In
my mind, there is no better way to capture the warm, fuzzy feelings of nostalgia than
through a photograph
Genie the Wild Child Essay
Genie, the second case of wild child was found in a room tied to a potty chair.
Genie was kept in a room locked away because her father thought she was retarded
at birth until the age of 13, when she was rescued by a social worker. She was
locked away from normal civilization and any type of socialization, and she was
beaten for making noises. Genie was an infant trapped in a 13 year old body,
because she could only make infant like sounds and no words or sentences. Genie s
brain waves were adnormal, but doctors believed that she could learn. They began
teaching and trying to develop her brain through forming relationships. Genie begin

family believed she needed alot of help and that she could learn. They taught her
how to express her anger in fits and then verbally, instead of tearing at herself and
hurting herself. Genie could put together small sentences like a child around the
age of 1 or 2. She could now read simple sentences and express things about her past
in sentences. Genie was learning her first language and began attending a nursery
school. Victor progress slowed down and he never really learned to talk. Victor
died in his 40 s in 1828, Victor died without a happy ending. The doctors wanted
Genie to have a better ending then Victor. They begin to teach Genie sign language,
because they thought this was where doctors had fell with Victor. They could never
determine if Genie was retarded at birth, but it was found that Genie was growing
mentally after she was found. When the government stoped the funding for Genie
the foster family gave her up and Genie reunited with her mother in 1975. Genie
still could not put together sentences like a normal person of her age. After a while
Genie s mother could not handle taking care of Genie, so back in foster care she went.
While in foster care Genie endured mental and pyhsical abuse.
The George Hotel s Prospects for the future
The George Hotel is a controversial project that will bring much needed rejuvenation
to a lacking lower Gibsons. The George though being battled by many will bring
much needed employment opportunities to the sunshine coast. This expansion to
our waterfront will also bring with it a boost in tourism and keep the bustling
culture of lower Gibsons alive. With this project comes heavy opposition from
people all over the Sunshine Coast. Many people feel that the design of this project
is not aesthetically pleasing and will not fit in with the quaint style of our town. I
would like to pose the question what is the style of this town? Is there a style of
architecture that is recognizable feature of Gibsons or does the the differentiation
of all buildings make Gibsons unique. One other problem that has been posed is the
breaking of the OCP height restrictions. The proposed height for The George is 25
metres which is approximately 8 stories, double the current OCP restrictions. People
worry that if we were to change the rules for one building would other developers
run in and try slip under the rules too. For this town to further flourish we need to
think about changing some of the rules of the OCP to allow projects that will help
further our community culturally, and economically. Economically speaking The
George will provide many full and part time jobs for residents of the Sunshine Coast.
A proposed 130 full time and part time in hotel administration, accounting,
Judicial Tyranny The New Kings Of America
The book Judicial Tyranny The New Kings of America? is a compilation of
articles and speeches. It is compiled by Mark Sutherland and includes writings from
famed Christian personality James C. Dobson Chief Justice Roy Moore,
Ambassador Alan Keyes, U.s Attorney General Ed Meese, among others. The book
is a call to political action. It is aimed at Christian readers and the writers all argue
that Christian politics equals constitutional purism. It is specifically meant to invoke
constitutional responses and activism. Each chapter, twenty in all, are a few pages
long and systematically decry the current judicial system and explain the lack of
constitutional basis for their current level of power.
The book s primary source of inspiration seems to be the lawsuit involving Alabama
Chief Justice Roy Moore. The case was highly publicized and Moore s refusal to
carry out the ultimate ruling led to his removal from office. Chief Justice Moore
was removed from office in which a majority of citizens of Alabama elected him to
serve for acknowledging God with the placement of a monument that contains the
Ten Commandments and for refusing to remove that monument. The majority of
the writers in Judicial Tyranny reference his case extensively and an excerpt from
Roy Moore s book ( So Help Me God, 2005) appears as Chapter seven in Judicial
Tyranny. The remainder of the book does do an admittedly excellent job of weaving
historical quotes and happenings into all of the writings so that
Reasons for the Gap between Social Classes in America
USA is a very big country with a lot of people and the social classes are very
important. We can see that social class plays big part of people s life. Everyday
people are working, studying, trying to be better. Even though right now it s time
when everyone has many opportunities in his life, anyway there is a gap between
classes and groups of people with same features. And your background probably
will build your future. And we need to find what kind of class we have right now
and look into these classes. The main idea is that Social Classesstill exist and it s
most general part of U.S.A society. There are three reasons why gap between
groups still exist. The first reason is that everyone has different economic status.
People divide by groups with same ideas, religion, economic status, political views,
and cultural features. For example in U.S.A we have poor people, very rich
people, and kind of middle people and we can t say that these families are same.
People from each group have different opportunities in education, medicine, and
job. If you are from rich family you have more chance to be succeed in this world,
for you it will be much easier unlike someone from poor family. The children from
rich families will get best college or university degree, will find good job, and will
learn how to be rich from their parents. Money for now is very powerful tool in your
hand, with money we can go to our dreams. The statistic shows us that most of
people while whole
Harper Lee s Argumentative Essay
Some could consider a genius to be a highly intelligent person with an incredible
score on their IQ test. Others think that a genius is one that helps improve the
knowledge of the world by displaying true ideas on how the world does what it
does. Being a genius is not about having an over the top IQ score, or being able to
see all the unknown creations that no one else can see. A geniusis a person that can be
effectively creative with a natural ability to make a connection with their audience.
Through these distinguishing features of the definition of the word genius one can
infer that Harper Lee is in fact a true genius. To be effectively creative does not only
mean that one can come up with certain methods to make the audience believe every
word they say, but one can also display true meaning behind their words and to make
their writing stand out. Walt Disney was one who could be effectively creative with
all of his movies. Although some most of them... Show more content on

None of his characters share the same personality with one another because it is not
true to look, act, or even talk like another person. Lee describes all his characters to
be unique as well as the places and the problems that occur within his books. Harper
Lee shows his true creativity through the way he fixes the problems as well. For
example in his book To Kill a Mocking Bird, Lee portrays a situation in which an
African American one armed man rapes a girl and beats her. He shows this
situation to not be true when taken to court by saying that Tom Robinson is not
strong enough, and he does not have two hands to choke and beat Mayella Ewell
and there was no sexual evidence to say she was raped. We can now draw
conclusion that Harper Lee is a creative man simply through this one tragic moment
in his book to help an innocent man be shown to the audience of how his disability
does get in the
How To Train Your Dragon Hero s Journey
The movie How to Train your Dragon illustrates the Hero s journey because it has
the same concepts and stages a hero would take on their journey. The important
stages that the movie specifically demonstrates are: Refusal of the Call, The Ordeal,
and The Resurrection. The Refusal of the Call is when the herosenses fear of the
unknown and tries to avoid the dilemma, and it s when they refuse to perform what
they are asked to do for any reason. In the movie, this is when Hiccup does not want
to be a viking because he does not want to kill the night fury Toothless, whom he
has already befriended. This night fury was deadly but still refrained from killing
Hiccup. The next main stage from the Hero s journey is The Ordeal, which is

My Best Friend Essay Writing. My best friend essay in english Essay on my best friend

  • 1. My Best Friend Essay Writing Crafting an essay on the topic of "My Best Friend" may initially seem like a straightforward task, considering the familiarity most people have with the subject. After all, who wouldn't want to celebrate the bond with their closest companion? However, as the writer delves into the process, complexities arise that demand a delicate balance of emotions, anecdotes, and introspection. The difficulty lies in capturing the essence of a friendship in a way that resonates with the reader, steering clear of clichГ©s and generic descriptions. The challenge is to transcend the superficial and explore the intricacies that make the friendship unique. Striking the right balance between sentimentality and objectivity is a tightrope walk, as too much emotion may come off as saccharine, while too little might render the essay unengaging. Furthermore, selecting the most significant moments and qualities to highlight becomes a meticulous task. A friendship is a tapestry woven with countless threads of shared experiences, inside jokes, and mutual support. Deciding which threads to pull into focus requires careful consideration to create a coherent and compelling narrative. The essay must also avoid becoming a mere catalogue of positive attributes, as authenticity demands an acknowledgment of challenges and conflicts. A genuine reflection on the ups and downs of the friendship adds depth and relatability to the narrative but demands a delicate touch to avoid oversharing or veering into negativity. In essence, crafting a "My Best Friend" essay involves not only narrating personal experiences but also understanding the broader implications of friendship. The challenge is to transcend the individual narrative and convey universal truths about human connections, making the essay not just a personal reflection but a resonant piece that others can connect with. In conclusion, the difficulty in writing an essay on the topic of "My Best Friend" lies in navigating the intricate web of emotions, experiences, and reflections that define a profound friendship. It requires a nuanced approach to storytelling and a keen understanding of the universal aspects of human connection. And if you find yourself grappling with the task or simply wish to explore a diverse range of essays, remember that assistance is just a click away. Similar essays and much more can be ordered on HelpWriting.net, providing a helping hand in navigating the complexities of essay writing. My Best Friend Essay Writing My Best Friend Essay Writing
  • 2. My Heart Tricia swung the door open amid this cliffhanger and I begged for more information. As it happened, Tricia had moved our friends to the other side of the bar to leave the two of us alone, while still maintaining a clear view of our the drama unfolding between myself and Mr. Wonderful. Love was in the air and it was hijacking my soul. My heart had become its own planet spinning on its axis too fast for me to feel my the floor below me and I still don t know how I kept my balance, especially to the point of dancing the night away with the girls, as Mr. Wonderful watched. Something was missing; since moving back to Southern California every attempt made to court me had made me literally sick to my stomach. There was a strong sensation in my... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Knowing he saw this outing as a date, I attempted to get to know him while letting him pursue me. I told him I was under the influence of aliens, not just the drinks he bought for me. I notice a young woman with her jacket tied to her waist. There was a bright yellow design on the jacket appearing on her behind. I mentioned the apparition to Mr.Wonderful and insisted that he look at her butt. He refused, and this was curious. I persisted until he said, I am here with you, I am not going to look at another woman. His words seared into my heart like a flame igniting a rapid pace and blood flow that surged through my entire body. Despite this magical feeling, I was determined not to get swept away and over a cliff. I took selfies and sent them to Finesse since she couldn t be there with all of us. I took a photo of me and Mr. Wonderful. The expression on his face, the childlike hope on Christmas morning, spoke volumes. I kicked off one of my Birkenstocks so I could show him that even my feet had wrinkles of age. He stroked the back of my calf while looking not at my foot but into my eyes. This was the moment, in unison with many moments, I was sure my body and my heart were in full agreement. This was also the time of the night, that I was certain he was touching me not by accident Galaxy was not on my lap and Mr. Wonderful had not consumed any alcohol. The veil had

The legal aspect of a building contract is contained in written conditions either of a general or special nature. The two parties agree to work within the conditions set down and are obliged to adhere to them or suffer penalties which are either stated within the contract or which are implied by the nature of the contract. A breach of contract can be established even if there is no actual loss. In that case there will only be an entitlement to nominal damages. Negligence is the most important field of tort law as it governs most activities of modern society. An Interview At A Social Service Centre Essay 1.Introduction In this report I will identify and critique an interview of important skills and lack of them towards a client by a social service practitioner. Within this report I will identify positive and negative aspects that affect the efficiency of the Help process. This meeting is held at a Social service centre by Barbara. It is the first meeting between the pracitioner and her client JinLing, a Chiniese migrant who is unhappy with her job situation. 2.Micro Skills 2.1Identification of Micro Skills The micro skills that are identified in this conversation are effectively used to enhance the client interaction. The first positive aspect is the use of door openers. Barbara offers a refreshment at the beginning of the interview and opens up the conservation with icebreaker comments about the weather. This is an effective way of increasing the clients comfortability as well as getting the client to talk. The next important micro skill that Barbara does, is explaining her role and the services role at the beginning of the interview. In this, Barbara also explains to the client about confidentiatlity. Barbara effectively explains confidentiality and her ability to hold information which gives the client assurance of confidence. The results of the battle had unforeseen effects on Athens and the future of Western Civilization. The Greek Golden Age , centred in Athens, brought about new forms of art, the foundations of future philosophy and redirected literature and drama. The achievements of the Athenians during this period were directly connected to the inspiration and prestige (which later translated into power) fuelled by the events at Marathon. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The victory at Marathon and the successful defence of the city, gave the Athenians a sense of moral superiority and pride. In later battles of the Persian War, at Thermopylai and Salamis, the highly regarded Spartans and those of the Peloponnese were largely in control of strategic moves. Although still a major force in every battle, Athens and her allies were outnumbered and thus followed Spartan command. After the second occupation of Athens after the battle of Salamis, the Athenians gave Sparta an ultimatum due to a lack of Spartan support. If the Peloponnesians wanted Athens navy, they must save Athens land. Because the Athenians had more damage to recover from it brought stronger confidence and overall pride for them once the city got back on its feet. The Spartans, Corinthians and other Peloponnesian allies now had reason to fear Athens growing naval power and its capabilities now that the city was repaired and invigorated with a renewed sense of pride. This is the point that we see the beginnings of a shift in the balance of power and influence between the city states. When the Ionian states adopted the Athenians as leaders, as opposed to the Spartans who had been pre eminent for a long time, the rise of the Athenian influence began to show. For the purpose of protecting all Greeks from a further Persian attack, a league was formed, of which Athens was now the leader. The league included

False imprisonment occurs when there is confinement without legal justification. The elements of false imprisonment are the restraint of the plaintiff against his or her will and the unlawfulness of the restraint. • 23. Niccolo Machiavelli And Socrates Two of history s greatest political philosophers, Niccolo Machiavelli and Socrates, have very profound, yet contrasting beliefs on how a prince should assume and make use of their power. Not only do the two disagree over how someone with authority over a state should rule, but their contrasting beliefs regarding the fundamental values of society, such as honesty and liberty, expose just how different the political mentalities of the two enlightened thinkers are. According to Plato, Socrates core beliefs are founded on the preservation of truth, maintenance of justice, and the importance of wisdom among all members of society. Socrates, who s idealistic set of values focuses on the importance of justice and wisdom, forbids any unjust actions taken by a prince solely to maintain his power. On the contrary, Machiavelli s ideal prince is cunning, deceiving, and strategic, taking any action necessary to maintain his authority and the prestige of his state. Therefore, Socrates would vehemently oppose the unjust actions taken by Machiavelli s ideal prince to preserve power, being that his values of honesty and morality would be unreservedly disobeyed. Moreover, Socrates would disapprove of any political system in which the prince stands by, and takes action in adherence to, Machiavellian values, or lack thereof. Machiavelli s beliefs on doing good vastly differs from that of Socrates, who lives his life in pursuit of truth, understanding, and a perfect soul, rather than reputation and honor (Apology, 29e). Instead of valuing honesty and morality, Machiavelli believes that men who have authority over a state are justified in taking any action necessary, even murder, to maintain their power. He argues that men are naturally poor decision makers, and almost always let conscience lead them into making detrimental decisions. Machiavelli argues that anyone who abandons what is, for what should be, pursues his downfall rather than his preservation (Prince p.62). This quote Austin Hanover GVPT 241 0105 Paper 1 10/13/17 2 shows that Machiavelli views the concept of truth not as something that is necessary among all men, like Socrates does, but as an action that should sometimes be avoided by a prince, because it often

Another feature of the English language that should be noted by nonnative speakers is that pronouncing the same word with stresses on different syllables can alter the meaning of the word. For example, if the word permit is stressed on the first syllable, it will become noun, and if on the second syllable, the word becomes a verb. According to Mennen (2006), second language learners often have problems placing stresses at the correct syllable, especially in the beginning of the learning process. This is because some languages do not use stress much and some, like Japanese and French, none at all (EnglishClub.com, 2007). This means that each syllable of words is pronounced with equal emphasis. It would be difficult for the nonnative speakers to identify which syllable should be stressed or not. This will lead to misunderstandings when speaking to native speakers as they usually listen to the stresses to understand the real message conveyed. INTONATION The final problem that has been

Importance Of Effective Communication Effective Communication According to my former employment experience within the tourism and hospitality industry at Highest International Standards , as a Tour Agent, my core focus was on customer service. I have acquired strong communication skills working in a multicultural environment. There are very different views on nostalgia stemming back in history to the 17th centuryto today. For those unfortunate souls that embraced nostalgia from the 17th century to the 19th century, their nostalgia was viewed as a disease in which harsh treatment should be given; however, today s nostalgia is embraced to its fullest through objects, music, and my favorite, through pictures and video (Beck). It is quite typical today to look around and see someone capturing a picture or filming a video of something; all of which primarily are using their mobile devices to do so. Today, technology has allowed society to capture something at a moment s notice. If you are anything like me, my phone s memory card fills up pretty quickly as I capture images of our son, our family outings, our home, or our less than frequent vacations. These images and videos become an important part of my life, as I want to capture these moments now to savior for a lifetime. Whereas, some people in today s society believe that people are simply taking a picture or video of something or some place just to say they have been somewhere or done something. In my mind, there is no better way to capture the warm, fuzzy feelings of nostalgia than through a photograph

  • 52. The George Hotel s Prospects for the future The George Hotel is a controversial project that will bring much needed rejuvenation to a lacking lower Gibsons. The George though being battled by many will bring much needed employment opportunities to the sunshine coast. This expansion to our waterfront will also bring with it a boost in tourism and keep the bustling culture of lower Gibsons alive. With this project comes heavy opposition from people all over the Sunshine Coast. Many people feel that the design of this project is not aesthetically pleasing and will not fit in with the quaint style of our town. I would like to pose the question what is the style of this town? Is there a style of architecture that is recognizable feature of Gibsons or does the the differentiation of all buildings make Gibsons unique. One other problem that has been posed is the breaking of the OCP height restrictions. The proposed height for The George is 25 metres which is approximately 8 stories, double the current OCP restrictions. People worry that if we were to change the rules for one building would other developers run in and try slip under the rules too. For this town to further flourish we need to think about changing some of the rules of the OCP to allow projects that will help further our community culturally, and economically. Economically speaking The George will provide many full and part time jobs for residents of the Sunshine Coast. A proposed 130 full time and part time in hotel administration, accounting,
  • 53. Judicial Tyranny The New Kings Of America The book Judicial Tyranny The New Kings of America? is a compilation of articles and speeches. It is compiled by Mark Sutherland and includes writings from famed Christian personality James C. Dobson Chief Justice Roy Moore, Ambassador Alan Keyes, U.s Attorney General Ed Meese, among others. The book is a call to political action. It is aimed at Christian readers and the writers all argue that Christian politics equals constitutional purism. It is specifically meant to invoke constitutional responses and activism. Each chapter, twenty in all, are a few pages long and systematically decry the current judicial system and explain the lack of constitutional basis for their current level of power. The book s primary source of inspiration seems to be the lawsuit involving Alabama Chief Justice Roy Moore. The case was highly publicized and Moore s refusal to carry out the ultimate ruling led to his removal from office. Chief Justice Moore was removed from office in which a majority of citizens of Alabama elected him to serve for acknowledging God with the placement of a monument that contains the Ten Commandments and for refusing to remove that monument. The majority of the writers in Judicial Tyranny reference his case extensively and an excerpt from Roy Moore s book ( So Help Me God, 2005) appears as Chapter seven in Judicial Tyranny. The remainder of the book does do an admittedly excellent job of weaving historical quotes and happenings into all of the writings so that

  • 55. Harper Lee s Argumentative Essay Some could consider a genius to be a highly intelligent person with an incredible score on their IQ test. Others think that a genius is one that helps improve the knowledge of the world by displaying true ideas on how the world does what it does. Being a genius is not about having an over the top IQ score, or being able to see all the unknown creations that no one else can see. A geniusis a person that can be effectively creative with a natural ability to make a connection with their audience. Through these distinguishing features of the definition of the word genius one can infer that Harper Lee is in fact a true genius. To be effectively creative does not only mean that one can come up with certain methods to make the audience believe every word they say, but one can also display true meaning behind their words and to make their writing stand out. Walt Disney was one who could be effectively creative with all of his movies. Although some most of them... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... None of his characters share the same personality with one another because it is not true to look, act, or even talk like another person. Lee describes all his characters to be unique as well as the places and the problems that occur within his books. Harper Lee shows his true creativity through the way he fixes the problems as well. For example in his book To Kill a Mocking Bird, Lee portrays a situation in which an African American one armed man rapes a girl and beats her. He shows this situation to not be true when taken to court by saying that Tom Robinson is not strong enough, and he does not have two hands to choke and beat Mayella Ewell and there was no sexual evidence to say she was raped. We can now draw conclusion that Harper Lee is a creative man simply through this one tragic moment in his book to help an innocent man be shown to the audience of how his disability does get in the
  • 56. How To Train Your Dragon Hero s Journey The movie How to Train your Dragon illustrates the Hero s journey because it has the same concepts and stages a hero would take on their journey. The important stages that the movie specifically demonstrates are: Refusal of the Call, The Ordeal, and The Resurrection. The Refusal of the Call is when the herosenses fear of the unknown and tries to avoid the dilemma, and it s when they refuse to perform what they are asked to do for any reason. In the movie, this is when Hiccup does not want to be a viking because he does not want to kill the night fury Toothless, whom he has already befriended. This night fury was deadly but still refrained from killing Hiccup. The next main stage from the Hero s journey is The Ordeal, which is
