The Benefits Of Raising Minimum Driving Age
While many people think raising the minimum driving age is beneficial, research shows that the
amount of fatal crashes involving 15 to 20 year old drivers has decreased over the past 10 years. If it is
raised, it would not help anything. Teens would still drive around at night... just illegally. Teens are
busy all the time. If they cannot drive they have to rely on someone else all the time to take them
where they need to be. Also, getting a driver s license is a big step in growing up as a teenager. The
minimum driving age has been questioned because of the amount of accidents. Data results have
shown that there are more fatal crashes involving 15 to 20 year old drivers than any other age. But
over the years, that percentage has decreased

Compassion Fatigue As A Synonym For Secondary Traumatic...
Introduction According to Coetzee and Hester (2010) compassion fatigue was adopted as a synonym
for secondary traumatic stress disorder. The aim of their 2010 concept analysis of the topic was to
further define compassion fatigue as it applies to the nursing practice. They describe the process of
compassion fatigue from just simply discomfort to compassion stress and finally fatigue. (p.1) Their
analysis describes how damaging compassion fatigue can be on a nurse s ability to provide
compassionate care. The information is vital to the field of nursing and the outcomes of our patients.
Specifically, it plays an important role in my personal practice. It s a nurse responsibility to provide
compassion care for the ill. In the process nurses are exposed daily to their patient s pain trauma, and
their struggles. This and other factors such as unsafe work conditions can take a toll on nurses and
their functionality. As a mental health nurse one of the biggest priority is to provide compassion.
Working with such a vulnerable population with such significant needs requires strong willed nurses
who can come to work everyday with the sole purpose to provide good care and compassion. This
specialty is very challenging as there are many barriers preventing patients and clients from getting the
care they need which can be stressful on their caregivers, especially nurses. This can cause what

Research Paper On Acne Vulgaris
How common is acne vulgaris, also know as basically acne, in the human population? Simply put, it is
extremely common. It is unlikely an individual goes about life without experiencing or witnessing
acne. Acne is an incessant skin condition that influences several individuals sooner or later within
their life. Particularly it is the event of septic or swollen sebaceous glands in the skin; specifically, an
ailment portrayed by red blemishes on the face, predominant essentially among young individuals
(Galderma, 2013). It causes spots to create on the skin, for the most part on the face, back and mid
section. The side effects of skin inflammation can be gentle, moderate or serious. But where does acne
come from originally? Acne has been around ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Acne vulgaris, ordinarily alluded to as pimples, is created by obstructed pores as a consequence of
sebum development and microorganisms like bacteria. It is important that individuals be informed
about acne vulgaris because the skin condition can result in scarring and spread of infection and the
first step to avoiding these things is awareness of the skin condition itself. Despite the regularity,
several individuals don t understand the basic principles of how acne vulgaris is formed and false
guidance leads to an increase of severity for the skin condition. Overall, advisement of the skin
condition can result in the diminishment of the countless struggles and obstacles individuals face
when battling against acne

A Realistic Perspective On Forensic Science
A Realistic Perspective on Forensic Science Forensic science is typically viewed as a drama filled,
intense storyline. These misleading story lines include insufficient data, false heroism, unrealistic
timing, and perfect conflicts. It s common for others to assume that forensics mostly consists of
criminology and toxicology. In a more realistic view, forensic science has many branches for
determining different subjects, requires lots of training to produce precise conclusions, and have the
ability to prove relevance, with details. Criminology or toxicology does not make up forensic science.
There are several branches that one can go into based on their career. Some examples are entomology,
the study of bugs, anthropology, the

Alternative Methods to Prison Sentencing in Britain Essay
More and more people in Britain are being sentenced to jail time: this is a fact. In 2004, there are
currently over eighty thousand inmates.[1] (Peter Reydt, 2004 / Scottish Executive, 2003) Crime is on
the increase but our prisons are already overcrowded. Consequently, new prisons will be required to
accommodate prisoners. Where will the money come from to pay for the construction of new prisons?
Will they have a sufficient rehabilitation programs in place? The prison system is obviously failing
because it is not acting as a deterrent. Clearly we should now be examining why the system is failing
and possible alternatives to prison. What should these alternatives be? Would they work and would

Consequently, all this toughening up on crime just seemed to be adding more and more numbers to the
prison population. Jack Straw, the Home Secretary of the time, wanted to increase the use of electronic
tagging to try and help ease the numbers entering prison but, on the other hand, he wanted to toughen
up sentencing for offenders he described as the worst anti social crimes such as burglary [5]
(Cascianni, 2002). This appears that Jack Straw was trying to decrease the prison population but at the
same time increase it a rather contradictory message. Since David Blunkett s hard line speeches in
2002, the Howard League for Penal Reform who have been monitoring the prison numbers since
2001, noticed that the actual number of people being sent to prison had been constant until he started
making tough speeches about crime and punishment. Since then, up to 500 more people per week
have been sentenced to prison a huge number and a huge burden on the prison service.
Because of these increases being placed on the prison population, there is now more of a financial
burden on the taxpayer. To keep an offender in prison for just one year, it will cost in excess of thirty
seven thousand pounds whereas it would only cost around two thousand pounds to place an offender
on a community punishment order (Peter

My Life Reflection
1999, a time for some people where Y2K was encroaching, a time for others where the famous films
Sixth Sense, The Matrix and the beloved Disney film Tarzan was their favorite movie and not to
mention definitely a time where we could go to the grocery store and not spend a fortune at checkout.
However, for me, this particular year, especially December 7 ,1999, was the worst day of my life. My
life changed when my brother s heart stopped beating. It is easier to emotionally adjust and understand
when older or sick loved ones die. The comfort of knowing they are in a better place soon or
immediately follows after their death. But when a child just a few months shy of 11 dies suddenly,
without a simple or plausible explanation, life seems backwards. I was only six when we put my older
brother in the ground. His death was my greatest adversity, but it also facilitated a new intellectual
framework, that even now at twenty four years old, I hold dear. Immediately following, I began to
question everything. When I say everything, I most certainly mean, the word why became my favorite
response to statements or opinions. I no longer took any information at face value. I needed to exercise
my knowledge craving for why things happen, what variables take part in its origin, or simply where
did it come from and what can we do to help or stop this particular action. As each year passed, my
growing desire for intellectual insight and search for viable solutions, grew from

The Drought In California s Water System
Right now there is a drought in California and it is due to the water usage. Bach in the gold rush due to
miners mining for gold, the rivers became polluted and freshwater became limited. After the
earthquake in San Francisco that cause a big fire, San Francisco was in dire need of water so they
made a plan to built a dam in Hetch Hetchy. Many people argue as to whether to build the dam and in
the end the dam was built and that has shape California s water system hugely. The use of water in
California now has not been in the best interest of the state because The amount of water use for
agriculture is disportional, laws are making us use more water than needed and the Indians and
environment are being harm.

Indians for example are being poorer. In 1853 E.A. Stevenson states, The Indians in this portions of
the State are wretchedly poor, having no horses, cattle or other property. They formerly survived on
game, fish, acorns, etc. but it is now impossible for them to make a living by hunting or fishing (Doc
2). This is due to miners turning the stream to mines to look for gold and they can do that because of
the law of prior appropriations And after being use up, the stream become muddy causing fish to seek
for new houses which will also be destroyed due to more miners using the streams carelessly. This
causes Indians, animals and habitats to die. It is stated by Jerry Stanley in 1997, The gold rush meant
death by starvation for thousands of Native Californians, and death from disease for thousands more
(Doc 7). This shows the consequence made by the miners. They use the water for their gold, polluting
the rivers with mercury and to the Indians that drink the water they are die and if they don t they will
sooner ar later die of dehydrations. It also stated by Jerry Stanley that due the tree being cut downs,
animals left which were a food source for Indians. The Indians are not the only one who were being
harm. The environment is being harm. They cut down tree which are habitats for animals and the
animals have to leave home and find a new one buts people will continue cutting trees and polluting
water, and taking their home away again and the animals will sooner or later die out This create a
cycle that will end with animals becoming endangered or extinct so we should start changing our

Council Of Fifty Essay
THE COUNCIL OF FIFTY Like many in the mid 19th century, the Mormons believed that the second
coming of Jesus was imminent, and would be attended by great destruction. After this destruction
occurred, some structure would be necessary to politically organize the survivors. Joseph Smith said
he received a revelation on April 7, 1842 calling for the establishment of an organization called the
Living Constitution, or later the Council of Fifty. This would serve as the foundation for the
establishment of Christ s Millennial government. The organization was formally established by Joseph
Smith in Nauvoo, Illinois on March 11, 1844. The clerk of the Kingdom , William Clayton, recorded

Dante’s Inferno in Milton´s Paradise Lost
Many arguments have been made that Dante s Inferno glimmers through here and there in Milton s
Paradise Lost. While at first glance the two poems seem quite drastically different in their portrayal of
Hell, but scholars have made arguments that influence from Dante shines through Milton s work as
well as arguments refuting these claims. All of these arguments have their own merit and while there
are instances where a Dantean influence can be seen throughout Paradise Lost, Milton s progression of
evil and Satan are quite different from Dante. Dante s influence on Milton is noted by many scholars
and is very apparent in several instances throughout Paradise Lost, however, Milton shows a
progression of evil through his own vision of Satan and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In his article, he discusses many of the authors previously mentioned such as Samuel, Hollander, and
Gurteen, and develops his own ideas about Milton s use of Dante s form of punishments. He makes
note of the fact that when Satan returns to Hell after successfully tempting Eve...he hears a universal
hiss as he and his crew transform into serpents which is clearly an allusion to that which the thieves
undergo in Cantos 24 and 25 of Dante s Inferno.
Other scholars agree that there is some flicker of Dante through Paradise Lost but argue that, although
there are instances where it seems clear of the influence, Milton and Dante s versions of Hell and
Satan are quite different.
In S. Humphreys Gurteen The Epic of The Fall of Man: A Comparative Study of Caedmon, Dante and
Milton he says, the influence of Dante s strong imagination, however, is evident throughout Paradise
Lost. It is not plagiarism, it is not imitation, it is the effect that must necessarily follow from the
contact of one powerful imagination, strong intellect, and deeply erudite mind, on that of another, in
many respects, his equal. (Gurteen, 383) While he explores

Jane Austen, A Georgian Era Author
Jane Austen, a Georgian era author, best known for her social commentary in novels once said, there is
nothing I would not do for those who are really my friends. I have no notion of loving people by
halves, it is not my nature. I would have to completely agree with Austen. We should love our true
friends and do anything for them. No matter the size of the messes is that they make. Finding the right
friends is usually hard, but when you find them it will feel like when Cinderella s shoe fit perfectly.

I got a call from my mom saying I was caught stealing, she muttered however, I honestly don t know
how to give her they money back. I thought I would be able to pay her back by the time she found out.
Sheetal and I were so surprised, a word didn t come out of our mouths. Everyone has experienced this,
we have all took something before asking. We all know that there will be consequences, but we should
ask before taking. Stealing is never the answer. What do you mean you don t know how to pay her

The s Equine And Aquatic Therapy Services
Bethany s Equine and Aquatic Therapy Services, Incorporated, more widely known as BEATS, Inc., is
a treatment facility that utilizes both hippotherapy and aquatic therapy for children with a variety of
disabilities (BEATS, n.d.). Aquatic therapy employs the use of water as a means to treat various
conditions by aiding in reducing chronic pain and enabling a wider range of motion (Oeverman, n.d.).
Hippotherapy is a lesser known method of treating mental, physical, and sensory disabilities by using
horses. When ridden, the movements of the horses spine and hips mimic the movements of walking or
running for those who cannot. Even when stationary, the horses consistent breathing stimulates the
muscles of the individual riding that cannot be as readily stimulated with the use of any other
mechanism (B. Nugent, personal communication, February 25, 2016). This unique form of therapy
enables individuals to work on balance and strength. Above all, hippotherapy is incredibly beneficial
in enhancing the motivation of disabled clients. Because the children are used to clinical settings, they
do not realize that the session is a part of their treatment; instead, they are simply having fun. As the
occupational therapist walks close by, often times engaging the child with the use of props,
photographs, or games, they are still able to work with the child in the areas of need (Applegate,
2011). BEATS incorporates these two methods as a way of engaging disabled children and efficiently

Colonial Middle Class American Life Essay
Middle Class Americans
American middle class life was greatly influenced throughout 1870 1917. There were many profound
changes, however the American industrialization and urbanization were the most rapid and
unquestionably the most important. The industrialist brought forth household names that are still
around today such as Swift, Armour, Westinghouse, Pillsbury, Pullman, Rocketfeller, Carnegie, and
Duke. Due to the rapid movement of industrialization, so began a movement of urbanization. Between
1860 and 1910, urban population increased sevenfold and by the 1920 s more than half of all
Americans lived in cities. Along with the cities came more use of electricity, electric lights,

Similarities And Differences Between Van Gogh And Monet
Vincent van Gogh and Claude Monet are two highly influential contributors to the art world. Both are
renowned artists whose creations are on display in several art museums throughout the world. They
are two artistic geniuses who are more alike than they appear to be. While there are many similarities
between the lives and art of these two prodigies there are numerous differences as well in their
technique/style, subject matter, and personal lives. Technique and style are two things that an artist
develops in order to define themselves. It acts as a trademark and it is what makes an artist s work

During his Dutch period, Van Gogh s subject matter was primarily focused on the lifestyle of the poor
and the bible (Dubecky). In his French period, Van Gogh had begun to shift his focus to drawing nude
figures and portraits. Monet, conversely, liked to paint his subject matters in series. He would paint the
same subject at different times of the day in different lights (Brown 1536). Some series that he painted
included water lilies, bridges, and haystacks. Something that Van Gogh and Monet both really took
passion in is basing their art on their life experiences. They both painted their surroundings such as
landscapes, seascapes, and people around them. Van Gogh would also draw still lifes of food and
would paint paintings based on his emotions during his recovered bouts of mental illness. Van Gogh
and Monet had both lived exceptionally different lives. Van Gogh did not start off wanting to become
an artist, he was actually very interested in theology and had eventually become a minister. It had
seemed as though Van Gogh had found his calling. Unfortunately, he was released from the church
after his generosity had betrayed him. While trying to help miners, he gave away all of his clothes and
was only left with a cloth. The church committee overseeing Van Gogh let him go because he did not
dress or preach eloquently. This led to Van Gogh gaining an interest in art which would lead him to go

The Ethics Of Amateur Sports
Amateur sports at the collegiate level are intended to provide young men and women the opportunity
to participate in sporting activities at which they excel while receiving an education that will serve as a
springboard for a future career. The soft skills of team building, sportsmanship, self discipline, and
dedication are often considered to be highly valued and sought after by employers. The camaraderie
and bonding among student athletes is invaluable and unique to this experience. Unfortunately, the
sanctity of collegiate athletics has been tainted by the unethical behavior of the very people purported
to have the best interests of the student athlete at heart. Despite having rules in place against academic
dishonesty, inconsistencies in enforcement of sanctions do little to curb the practice. Penalties for
misconduct will need to be severe and consistent for every institution that is part of the National
Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) for the rampant academic fraud to become the exception to
the rule rather than the norm.
The single greatest incentive for academic dishonesty to occur in regard to college athletics is money.
College sports generate millions of dollars each year. In 2011 12, the NCAA reportedly received $705
million in revenue generated by television broadcasts ( Revenue, 2012). All but about 4% goes

son Kolya. Kolya is an engineering student and a strong Communist who is at the beginning of a
promising career. As the Great Purge begins, Sofia s coworkers begin vanishing as accusations of
treachery are spoken. It isn t long before Kolya is arrested, though Sofia is in denial about the
circumstances of his capture. She attempts to find out more about what happened to her son, but she is

Terrorism And Political Aspects Of Terrorism In The Media
One of the most spoken topics in the media today is terrorism besides any other type of violence.
What is terrorism, everyone has a different version in their dictionary. Some blame a whole nation for
terrorism, some blame a whole religious group for the actions of only a few. As we know the word
terror means extreme fear. A terrorist is someone who creates an atmosphere filled with fear amongst
the people that are there. They go against rules and ethics and do very disturbing things which is
called terrorism. Terrorism is the unlawful use of violence and intimidation, this type of violence is
used especially against civilians, in the pursuit of political aims. They kill innocent people or
government/state/or city officials who oppose their wants. The purpose of the actions the terrorists
have is to create an atmosphere of fear to suit their wants. Terrorists murder and kidnap people, set off
bombs, hijack airplanes, set fires, and commit other serious crimes. But the goals of terrorists differ
from those of ordinary criminals. Most criminals want money or some other form of personal gain.
Most terrorists commit crimes to support political causes. Features of terrorism. Terrorist acts are
committed for various reasons.
They often threaten to kill the hostages if their demands are not met. Some terrorism involves the
intentional release of toxic chemicals, poisons, or other harmful substances. Bombings makeup about

Essay on Religion and the Development of the Western World
Religion and the Development of the Western World
The accomplishments and success of civilizations are closely linked to their religious outlook and the
role of religion in their governments and society. Throughout history rulers have used the influence of
religions to control their populations and provide the justification for their power. A society with a
greater degree of separation between religion and government promotes a superior level of liberty and
creativity amongst its people. By the time of the decline of the Roman Empire in the west, however,
the world had come full circle to a return to theocratic dictatorship. In the ancient civilization of the

The focus of Greek thought was on the community of man within the polis. They developed their laws
and philosophies in accordance with what seemed to them appropriate social interaction, not the
decrees of a god, a priest, or a king. Ethics and morality became the questions of high minded citizens
who created schools and systematic empirical methods for seeking the answers to questions of right
and wrong, politics, and the nature of man. The gods of the Greek religion, while super human in
strength and immortal, were humanly fallible. They were seen as the patrons of certain city states and
their worship was out of a sense of civic duty and the hope that the gods would lend their assistance
both to the community and the individual. Many of the teachings were common sense virtues such as
self awareness and moderation as in the Cult of Delphian Apollo. This naturalistic focus allowed them
to seek their answers through the scientific method of philosophy. They developed the beginnings of
atomic theory and wrote fairly objective histories that sought to explain the causes and learn from the
events of the past. The gifts of education were more available to the common citizen than in any
previous time in history and the political system allowed each man a say in the government of his
community. These were limited, but their very presence signifies a major shift away from the
authoritarianism of

The Ones Who Walked Away From Omelas Essay
Ursula Le Guin s short story, The Ones Who Walked away from Omelas, is Guin s depiction of the
relationship between societies and the maintenance of animalistic instinct in man. Omelas is described
as a luxurious sophisticated Utopia, that is completely self efficient, however it participates in
ritualistic public neglect of some children. They, the society of Omelas, cage certain children and put
their suffering on display for the whole City, and World to see. As the reader we must ask ourselves
what do societies need to be societies? It is clear when looking at historical context, and the fictional
city of Omelas, that societies need an outlet for aggression. The reason human work cohesively

The story says, but they all understand that their happiness... depend wholly on this child s abominable
misery (Guin 5). Why would this be? Look at the negative aspect of successful societies. Germany
right before WW2. Germany was a broke country, with no infrastructure. The Nazi party gained public
traction by assigning hate to the Jewish community. The Nazi party used Jews as their outlet for public
angry. The jews have money when we are poor, the jews are the reason for Germany s downfall.
Germany s infrastructure and economy started to rebuild at rates never seen before in World
economics, simply because the public was connected, although by hate, such connection made them
organized and unified. Germany was prosperous and advanced for its time much like Omelas. Omelas
could be doing a similar thing. This child is on display, people choose to visit the attraction to relive
their built up frustrations or angers. This child is continuously in agony. This could be, for Omelas, as
well as be therapy for the common man. This might not make sense to sane individuals, but, from a
community that has seen this torture since an early age, it is going to be normalized. If this child fills
the gap for society s worst desires and needs, it would make sense the way Omelas uses it as a tool for

Gas Price Elasticity Essay examples
Gas Price Elasticity
The Energy Information Administration of the Department of Energy began tracking weekly gasoline
prices in 1990 by means of a survey of 800 service stations around the country. The average retail
price for unleaded gasoline posted its fourth record high during the week of June 12, 2000, increasing
5 cents a gallon to an average of $1.681. The price at the pump is higher than the same period last year
by 56 cents and has risen 16.2 cents over the past month (Anonymous, 2000).
How far will it rise? What will consumers do about the dramatic increases that are occurring with the

The oil producing nations in the Mideast currently are meeting to discuss increasing production so that
crude prices will decline from its current price of more than $30 a barrel to the region of $25 (Georgy,

The American Petroleum Institute reports that 32.6 percent of the final cost to the consumer is the
refiner s share that covers the cost of refining and provides the oil companies with their profit
(Brodrick, 2000a). The government s share is greater, however. quot;Taxes account for 37.4 percent of
gasoline costs and averaged 41.5 cents per gallon in 1999, according to the institute. The federal
government s share is 18.4 cents, and the state takes about 23 cents. Occasionally, local municipalities
tack on an extra tax quot; (Brodrick, 2000a; p. 000215b).
The price is further affected by locale. The Midwest typically is one of the highest priced regions in
the nation because it is the most difficult section for transportation. Distance from refineries is
prohibitive, and refineries are saying that the current high prices in the region have resulted from
problems with using a pipeline that eases transportation costs.
The retailer s price increase to the final consumer is between 4 and 8 cents a gallon, meaning that
there is little option for the consumer to shop on price. Further, consolidation has been active in oil as
in other industries. A different brand name does not signify that the gasoline is being sold by

Importance Of Higher Education
Education is a key to a better and successful life. According to the article, Why is higher education is
important by Dr. Heather Allen, defines that higher education is education provided by universities,
college, and other institutions that award academic degrees. Higher education includes both the
undergraduate (i.e., college) and the graduate (or postgraduate) levels. Higher education includes most
professional education and is strongly vocationally or professionally oriented. Hence, higher education
makes individuals much more intelligent than what they would be with just a high school education.
The more intelligent an individual is, the better quality of life they are likely to have. Higher education
systems can very valuable because they provide individuals with life skills that are essential to being
successful in life. While studying at a higher education system, one is forced to develop to essential
time management skills much more so than at the high school level. With the time needed for
studying, attending classes, completing homework, so one needs to manage their time in order to
avoid falling out. These time management skills help individuals later on in life. Another important
life skill that individuals who attend higher education systems gain is money management skills. Some
higher education system students work part time jobs, but the majority is unable to find the time to do
so on top of their schoolwork, so the only money they have for spending is

Computer forensics involves carefully collecting and examining electronic evidence that not only
evaluates the damage to a computer as a result of an electronic assault, but also to recuperate lost
information from a system to prosecute a criminal in a court of law. Since security is such an
important factor in technology, it is crucial for any type of computer professionals to understand the
aspects of computer forensics. Seeing that technology is such a major part of everyone s lives,
computer forensics can play an significant role in any investigation now a days. People uses electrical
devices to communicate, record information, This paper looks to provide simple information with
respect to the core technologies used in computer forensics. Subjects covered include the recovery of
deleted data, the value of memory forensics, techniques for recovering and analyzing data from
volatile memory, and intrusions of attackers and tracking them. Computer forensics is the
investigation of computer devices to gather and preserve certain information that can be utilized in a
court of law for prosecution. The goal of computer forensics is to bring out a structured investigation
while documenting evidence to find out precisely what happened on a computing device and who was
accountable for it. Computer forensic investigators take three steps when investigating; acquiring

communication. Although the actual reason for autism is still unknown to the medical sciences; it has
been proved to be the result of abnormal and irregular growth of cerebral neurons of human brains.
People suffering from autism very often demonstrate a poor performance in social interactions; and
hence find it difficult to communicate to other people. On the other hand, it is equally difficult for
others to communicate to them in the usual ways. Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) regarded as the
presence of three aspects of impairment, namely; social cognition, communication and imagination.

produce sounds loud enough, the audience cannot get the meaning of those. Again, a good number of
autistic children can utter a word or two correctly but cannot make a full sentence. We address these
two vital problems of speech communication in this paper. Actually, there is no definite treatment for
autism. The best we can do is to help the autistic children in making proper social communication
being within their limitations. Computer games have recently been proved to be very powerful tools in
this regard We do not suggest replacing the traditional therapies by our game therapies; rather we
recommend introducing our games besides the traditional therapies for the best output.

Sleep and fatigue
Most accidents are said to be attributed by the fault of the driver. Fatigue or exhausted drivers have
long been acknowledged to represent a potential traffic safety risk. Brown (1994) has presented a
comprehensive review and discussion of the research of literature on the nature of fatigue and its
effects on driver behaviour and traffic accidents, on the basis of which he concluded that fatigue is
insufficiently recognised and reported as a cause of road accidents . A most major form of withdrawal
of attention is obviously the closing of eyes due to sleepiness.
Basically, falling asleep while driving can be speculated on demographical background information
about the driver such as gender, age and driving experience. As to gender, males have a significantly
higher proportion of sleep related accidents than females. The effect of age was captured by the
variable years with driver s licence, which showed a stronger relationship with sleep involvement.
There may also be differences in lifestyle; sleep habits, work schedule, etc. While many of those who
fall asleep are lucky to escape accidents, there are still thousands who are not as fortunate. It is usually
just a matter of time before a driver who falls asleep at the wheel ends up causing an

How The Atoms Are Arranged Within A Molecule
Description
When we just look at the molecular formula, we don t know how the atoms are arranged within a
molecule. Different arrangements of atoms are possible in one formula and these are called structural
isomers, which we will focus on for this lesson.
!!!Structural Isomers
Did you love playing with building blocks when you were young? I remember taking the blocks apart
and putting them back together. Each time, I create different shapes and structures, all the while, using
the same set of blocks.
Let us think of atoms in a molecular formula as building blocks. __Molecular formulas__ tell us how
many atoms of each element there are in a molecule. Just like the building blocks, these atoms can be
bonded together in different ways. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
So, we can say that butane and isobutane are structural isomers.
!!!Types of Structural Isomers and Examples
Now that we know what structural isomers mean, let s discuss the different types of structural isomers.
These are chain isomers, functional group isomers and positional isomers.
!!Chain Isomers
__Chain isomers__ are a type of structural isomers that differ in terms of the branches in their carbon
chains. For chain isomers, we can imagine removing one carbon and its attachments in a chain and
sticking it together with another carbon within the chain.
For instance, for pentane, which has a molecular formula of C sub 5 H sub 12 , has three different
chain isomers. In the illustration below, it shows that pentane and isopentane are chain isomers of each
other. The CH sub 3 group (circled in red) of pentane is switched with a hydrogen atom on the carbon
chain. Once this is done, it produces a chain isomer, isopentane.
Pentane and Isopentane Are Chain Isomers
Below, we can see another chain isomer of pentane, which is neopentane. Neopentane results from
switching the CH sub 3 on the left and the H atom (circled in red) with each other, and the other CH
sub 3 group on the right and the H atom (circled in blue). Pentane and Neopentane Are Chain Isomers
By switching the hydrogen and CH sub 3 groups on the pentane chain, we change the way the atoms

Comparing The Fukushima And The Chernobyl Disasters
The Fukushima and the Chernobyl Disasters
Both the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear accident of 2011 and the Chernobyl nuclear accident of 1986
were both rated seven according to the International Nuclear and Radiological Event Scale. However,
the two nuclear accidents differed in terms of their cause, the response from the government and
health effects.
Key facts about both accidents
The Chernobyl accident caused by a flawed reactor design which was being operated by inadequately
trained people. The steam explosion that resulted from the accident released more than 5% radioactive
reactor downwind into the atmosphere. Two employees died instantly at the site while 28 others died a
few weeks later as a result of radiation poisoning (Balonov, 2006). In Fukushima, the accident was

I Am A Soldier And A Good Person
The army has taught me so many great things. It taught me how to be a disciplined soldier and a good

lessons when I came to basic training. However, I learned the seven army values which were loyalty,

enjoy coffee in the past, until this unintended and incredible discovery came along.
During that time, Indonesia was a Dutch colony, and the nation s workers were in charge of the coffee
plantation. Also, the workers are restricted from harvesting coffee beans for their private uses. Instead
of accepting their fate on their favorite beverage, the workers discovered great opportunities in the
most challenging situations. They ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Today, the civet coffee is being produced in other Asia South Eastern nations like Vietnam, Philippines
and Laos, because of the high demand for the beverage by customers in the west and different regions.
Due to the high price, many producers tend to manufacture fake coffee products similar to Kopi
Luwak, or cheap coffee products made from the blend of actual kopi Luwak with low quality beans.
Under those circumstances, a lot of civet cats experience the terrible condition in the cages that are
dirty and empty. As a result of this, animals are doomed to eat beans and live in a small space of 2 by
1.5 meters of cement floor instead of staying in the natural environment as the producers advertise.
Also, the signs of animal unkindness have also been discovered during the production period, when
the wild animal s diet and life pattern are forced to change for commercial purposes of humans, and
the animals were not able to climb the cages because there is limited space to do that. Because of this,
kopi Luwak production and utilization must be strictly controlled by the local governments and
responsible organizations to prevent the extinction of wild civet cats.

The Real Estate Market Is Important
Introduction
In this modern age we are all greatly affected by the core economic problem, as we know it.
Scarceness of resources is the main economic issue, this is made worse by the world s rapidly
expanding population, Resources are scarce but wants are infinite (Anderton, 2008 pg. 2). In this
essay, we are going to look into the real estate business, and specifically in London. This will enable
us to understand the demand, supply and elasticity determinants in this market.
Real estate market is very important, as housing is probably a person s biggest purchase, which can
represent the consumer s wealth. Also, it is important, as changes in property prices affect the rest of
the economy enormously.

This is due to the fact that these properties represent a secure shelter for the population, which is
considered a basic human need. However the housing market is believed to provide normal goods ,
meaning that as people s income increases so does their demand for housing (Masron, 2013). Due to
the socioeconomic background of a large portion of the population a large segment of the market
would be considered a highly differentiated product. Location of the property within London tends to
play a large part of the product s differentiation, as some areas are more desirable than others.
There are main factors that affect the real estate in London, which will greatly influence supply and
demand. One of the factors that may affect supply is the lack of free land in desirable areas; this
affects both residential and commercial properties alike. However, suppliers still tend to provide a
large number of properties each year. During the period of June 2013 and June 2014 there was around
18,900 new buildings completed as provided by the UK government (Government stats, 2014). A
factor that may affect demand is the rapid increase in population due to both immigration and
migration; with the increase in population there is an increasing number of businesses looking for
commercial property.
Supply in the market
Supply conditions in the London real estate market is similar to the rest of the UK. There are

Middle Childhood Research
During Middle Childhood, children have the capacity to achieve conservation. Conservation refers to
the child s ability to understand what things should look like despite changes that may occur (Newman
Newman, 2015). Therefore, children would have the ability to understand what a healthy relationship
should look like despite their peer being a different individual in each relationship they have. During
Middle Childhood, children experience the psychosocial crises of Industry versus Inferiority. During
this process, if the child feels they have adequate skills needed to make friends they will be able to do
so with ease. By doing so, the child would have resolved their crises and would not feel inferior to
others. In addition, the child would ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
al., (2005), found that children who had a high quality best friendship, were less likely to become and
participate in bullying behaviors than those children who have a lower quality best friendship. Per
Bollmer et. al., (2005), having a high quality friendship can protect some children from bullying
because it gives the child an example of what a healthy relationship is and should look like. Malcolm
et. al., (2006), found that as the quality of equal friendships increased both overt and relational
bullying decreased. In addition, Malcolm et. al., (2006), found that the quality of the friendships is a
predictor of lower levels of bullying. However, the quality of the friendship did not determine what
the quality of the relationship would be overtime. Sainio, Veenstra, Huitsing, Salmivalli, (2011), state
that friendship could protect adolescents from bullying because friendships increase the adolescent s
psychosocial adjustment and therefore, decrease their

New England Vs Chesapeake Bay Colonies
During the 17th century, England decided to start colonizing the newfound Americas after watching
other European nations do the same. The first few English settlements in the Americas were founded
in two general regions now known as the Chesapeake Bay, and New England. Although the colonists
from these two regions came from the same place, they soon began to distinguish themselves as the
Chesapeake Bay colonies and the New England colonies. There were distinct differences between the
two areas which had to do with many factors, including reason for settlement, climate, and the people
who came over.
The colonists who came over, all sailed from the same place. However, their intentions differentiated
quite a bit. The first permanent settlement was Jamestown in the Chesapeake region. The settlers who
came here were looking to get rich in the new world. They were hoping to find lots of gold like the
Spanish did previously. According to Percy (2017), In December of that year, 104 settlers sailed from
London with Company instructions to build a secure settlement, find gold, and seek a water route to
the Pacific. (para. 1). The main reason that the first settlers came to Jamestown was to find gold and a
new ship route. They weren t too concerned about making a lasting settlement for future families.
They were more concerned with making money. The expedition to get to Virginia was funded by a
joint stock company. This meant that this colony had the intent of making lots of money.

Real Estate Closings
Buying your dream house or a vacation home is a major decision. Real estate is one the biggest
investments most individuals will make in their life time. As the potential home owner, you want to
protect your investment. The laws surrounding real estate closings can be complex. As a new property
owner want to be certain no surprises or issues arise at the last minute; creating delay of sale or
costing you more money. A real estate lawyer can help protect you and your investment.
Benefits of a Lawyer
An attorney for real estate closings can actually help you through the entire buying process. The
purchase agreement is one of the most important documents to be signed between the seller and buyer.

Mortgage loan documents may seem overwhelming to a home buyer. An attorney will be able to
inspect the documents to determine if everything is filled in properly. You do not want a delay in
receiving your property due to incomplete or inaccurate paperwork.
Land surveys should always be conducted prior to home purchase. The survey will help in
determining property lines. You do not want any surprises from your neighbors as you move into your
dream home.
Before any real estate closings, a title search should be conducted by an attorney to determine if the
property is lawfully allowed to be sold. If the title has lien, judgements, loans, or taxes due, the final
sale may not be approved.
An expert attorney will be able to determine if the title insurance has significant coverage for any
financial losses over the property.
The final step is obtaining the deed which transfer final

Cultural Influences Of Pop Music
The phrase pop music was first mentioned in the middle 1920 s. Then it was originated from its
modern form in the United States and United Kingdom during the mid 1950 s. Pop music is the most
popular genre that produces the most hits. Pop and Rock music were synonymous terms until the late
1960 s. David Hatch and Stephen Millward describes pop music as a body of music which
distinguishable from popular, jazz and folks music. Some people say that pop music is professional
music which draws upon both folk music and fine arts music. Pop music has been a beneficial
industry in America since the nineteenth century, yet Early Pop/Rock is a style that came to fruition in
the post shake and move time, once the more moderate components of the record business had dealt
with the new melodic scene. Early Pop/Rock developed in the late 50s, as the underlying rock and
move furor started to fade away.
Throughout the development of pop music, it has absorbed influences from other genres of pop music.
In the 1960 s the majority of pop music fell in the two categories; guitar, drum and bass groups or
singers backed by a traditional orchestra. During the mid 1960 s, pop music made repeated forays into
new sounds, styles and techniques that inspired public discourse among its listeners. Before pop was
known a lot performers were typically unable to decide on the artists of their music. Between 1955
and 2010 they discovered that over 464,000 recordings of pop music was recorded. Pop music has

  • 2. The Benefits Of Raising Minimum Driving Age While many people think raising the minimum driving age is beneficial, research shows that the amount of fatal crashes involving 15 to 20 year old drivers has decreased over the past 10 years. If it is raised, it would not help anything. Teens would still drive around at night... just illegally. Teens are busy all the time. If they cannot drive they have to rely on someone else all the time to take them where they need to be. Also, getting a driver s license is a big step in growing up as a teenager. The minimum driving age has been questioned because of the amount of accidents. Data results have shown that there are more fatal crashes involving 15 to 20 year old drivers than any other age. But over the years, that percentage has decreased ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Compassion Fatigue As A Synonym For Secondary Traumatic... Introduction According to Coetzee and Hester (2010) compassion fatigue was adopted as a synonym for secondary traumatic stress disorder. The aim of their 2010 concept analysis of the topic was to further define compassion fatigue as it applies to the nursing practice. They describe the process of compassion fatigue from just simply discomfort to compassion stress and finally fatigue. (p.1) Their analysis describes how damaging compassion fatigue can be on a nurse s ability to provide compassionate care. The information is vital to the field of nursing and the outcomes of our patients. Specifically, it plays an important role in my personal practice. It s a nurse responsibility to provide compassion care for the ill. In the process nurses are exposed daily to their patient s pain trauma, and their struggles. This and other factors such as unsafe work conditions can take a toll on nurses and their functionality. As a mental health nurse one of the biggest priority is to provide compassion. Working with such a vulnerable population with such significant needs requires strong willed nurses who can come to work everyday with the sole purpose to provide good care and compassion. This specialty is very challenging as there are many barriers preventing patients and clients from getting the care they need which can be stressful on their caregivers, especially nurses. This can cause what Joinson as introduced in 1992: compassion fatigue. Compassion fatigue was discovered during ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

These misleading story lines include insufficient data, false heroism, unrealistic timing, and perfect conflicts. It s common for others to assume that forensics mostly consists of criminology and toxicology. In a more realistic view, forensic science has many branches for determining different subjects, requires lots of training to produce precise conclusions, and have the ability to prove relevance, with details. Criminology or toxicology does not make up forensic science. There are several branches that one can go into based on their career. • 6. Alternative Methods to Prison Sentencing in Britain Essay More and more people in Britain are being sentenced to jail time: this is a fact. In 2004, there are currently over eighty thousand inmates.[1] (Peter Reydt, 2004 / Scottish Executive, 2003) Crime is on the increase but our prisons are already overcrowded. Consequently, new prisons will be required to accommodate prisoners. Where will the money come from to pay for the construction of new prisons? Will they have a sufficient rehabilitation programs in place? The prison system is obviously failing because it is not acting as a deterrent. Clearly we should now be examining why the system is failing and possible alternatives to prison. What should these alternatives be? Would they work and would they ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Consequently, all this toughening up on crime just seemed to be adding more and more numbers to the prison population. Jack Straw, the Home Secretary of the time, wanted to increase the use of electronic tagging to try and help ease the numbers entering prison but, on the other hand, he wanted to toughen up sentencing for offenders he described as the worst anti social crimes such as burglary [5] (Cascianni, 2002). This appears that Jack Straw was trying to decrease the prison population but at the same time increase it a rather contradictory message. Since David Blunkett s hard line speeches in 2002, the Howard League for Penal Reform who have been monitoring the prison numbers since 2001, noticed that the actual number of people being sent to prison had been constant until he started making tough speeches about crime and punishment. Since then, up to 500 more people per week have been sentenced to prison a huge number and a huge burden on the prison service. Because of these increases being placed on the prison population, there is now more of a financial burden on the taxpayer. To keep an offender in prison for just one year, it will cost in excess of thirty seven thousand pounds whereas it would only cost around two thousand pounds to place an offender on a community punishment order (Peter ... However, for me, this particular year, especially December 7 ,1999, was the worst day of my life. My life changed when my brother s heart stopped beating. It is easier to emotionally adjust and understand when older or sick loved ones die. The comfort of knowing they are in a better place soon or immediately follows after their death. But when a child just a few months shy of 11 dies suddenly, without a simple or plausible explanation, life seems backwards. I was only six when we put my older brother in the ground. His death was my greatest adversity, but it also facilitated a new intellectual framework, that even now at twenty four years old, I hold dear. Immediately following, I began to question everything. When I say everything, I most certainly mean, the word why became my favorite response to statements or opinions. I no longer took any information at face value. I needed to exercise my knowledge craving for why things happen, what variables take part in its origin, or simply where did it come from and what can we do to help or stop this particular action. Stevenson states, The Indians in this portions of the State are wretchedly poor, having no horses, cattle or other property. They formerly survived on game, fish, acorns, etc. but it is now impossible for them to make a living by hunting or fishing (Doc 2). This is due to miners turning the stream to mines to look for gold and they can do that because of the law of prior appropriations And after being use up, the stream become muddy causing fish to seek for new houses which will also be destroyed due to more miners using the streams carelessly. This shows the consequence made by the miners. They use the water for their gold, polluting the rivers with mercury and to the Indians that drink the water they are die and if they don t they will sooner ar later die of dehydrations. While at first glance the two poems seem quite drastically different in their portrayal of Hell, but scholars have made arguments that influence from Dante shines through Milton s work as well as arguments refuting these claims. All of these arguments have their own merit and while there are instances where a Dantean influence can be seen throughout Paradise Lost, Milton s progression of evil and Satan are quite different from Dante. Other scholars agree that there is some flicker of Dante through Paradise Lost but argue that, although there are instances where it seems clear of the influence, Milton and Dante s versions of Hell and Satan are quite different. In S. The s Equine And Aquatic Therapy Services Bethany s Equine and Aquatic Therapy Services, Incorporated, more widely known as BEATS, Inc., is a treatment facility that utilizes both hippotherapy and aquatic therapy for children with a variety of disabilities (BEATS, n.d.). Aquatic therapy employs the use of water as a means to treat various conditions by aiding in reducing chronic pain and enabling a wider range of motion (Oeverman, n.d.). Hippotherapy is a lesser known method of treating mental, physical, and sensory disabilities by using horses. The soft skills of team building, sportsmanship, self discipline, and dedication are often considered to be highly valued and sought after by employers. Sofia Petrovna Essay HIST 3163 Take Home Assignment While both Sofia Petrovna by Lydia Chukovskaya and One Day in the Life of Ivan Denisovich by Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn describe the horrors and terror of the Great Purge under Joseph Stalin s Soviet Union, Chukovskaya is able to describe the terror felt and lived by the ordinary person in Russia at the time while Solzhenitsyn describes the terror felt by prisoners who were arrested, innocent or otherwise, during the Purge. In Lydia Chukovskaya s Sofia Petrovna, she aims to capture the dreadful atmosphere of Stalin s Great Purge. The main character, Sofia Petrovna, works as a typist in the Soviet Union who is proud of her son Kolya. Kolya is an engineering student and a strong Communist who is at the beginning of a promising career. As the Great Purge begins, Sofia s coworkers begin vanishing as accusations of treachery are spoken. It isn t long before Kolya is arrested, though Sofia is in denial about the circumstances of his capture. She attempts to find out more about what happened to her son, but she is drowned out by long lines and bureaucrats. Sofia blames Kolya s best friend, Alik, for his arrest. A society with a greater degree of separation between religion and government promotes a superior level of liberty and creativity amongst its people. The focus of Greek thought was on the community of man within the polis. They developed their laws and philosophies in accordance with what seemed to them appropriate social interaction, not the decrees of a god, a priest, or a king. Ethics and morality became the questions of high minded citizens who created schools and systematic empirical methods for seeking the answers to questions of right and wrong, politics, and the nature of man. The gods of the Greek religion, while super human in strength and immortal, were humanly fallible. They were seen as the patrons of certain city states and their worship was out of a sense of civic duty and the hope that the gods would lend their assistance both to the community and the individual. Many of the teachings were common sense virtues such as self awareness and moderation as in the Cult of Delphian Apollo. This naturalistic focus allowed them to seek their answers through the scientific method of philosophy. They developed the beginnings of atomic theory and wrote fairly objective histories that sought to explain the causes and learn from the events of the past. The gifts of education were more available to the common citizen than in any previous time in history and the political system allowed each man a say in the government of his community. These are chain isomers, functional group isomers and positional isomers. !!Chain Isomers __Chain isomers__ are a type of structural isomers that differ in terms of the branches in their carbon chains. For chain isomers, we can imagine removing one carbon and its attachments in a chain and sticking it together with another carbon within the chain. For instance, for pentane, which has a molecular formula of C sub 5 H sub 12 , has three different chain isomers. In the illustration below, it shows that pentane and isopentane are chain isomers of each other. The CH sub 3 group (circled in red) of pentane is switched with a hydrogen atom on the carbon chain. Once this is done, it produces a chain isomer, isopentane. Pentane and Isopentane Are Chain Isomers Below, we can see another chain isomer of pentane, which is neopentane. Neopentane results from switching the CH sub 3 on the left and the H atom (circled in red) with each other, and the other CH sub 3 group on the right and the H atom (circled in blue). Both teams were willing to risk the round to chance seeing that they felt like the debate space is a place for education and community and that a discussion of issues would be more productive in creating change. However, no one else is the room to hear this discussion and thus the ideas and messages conveyed during the discussion wouldn t likely move far past the room. On the other hand, as indicated in the evidence Why we do debate, there is a whole heap to learn by doing debate. Today, the civet coffee is being produced in other Asia South Eastern nations like Vietnam, Philippines and Laos, because of the high demand for the beverage by customers in the west and different regions. Due to the high price, many producers tend to manufacture fake coffee products similar to Kopi Luwak, or cheap coffee products made from the blend of actual kopi Luwak with low quality beans. Under those circumstances, a lot of civet cats experience the terrible condition in the cages that are dirty and empty. As a result of this, animals are doomed to eat beans and live in a small space of 2 by 1.5 meters of cement floor instead of staying in the natural environment as the producers advertise. Also, the signs of animal unkindness have also been discovered during the production period, when the wild animal s diet and life pattern are forced to change for commercial purposes of humans, and the animals were not able to climb the cages because there is limited space to do that. Because of this, kopi Luwak production and utilization must be strictly controlled by the local governments and responsible organizations to prevent the extinction of wild civet cats. However the housing market is believed to provide normal goods , meaning that as people s income increases so does their demand for housing (Masron, 2013). Due to the socioeconomic background of a large portion of the population a large segment of the market would be considered a highly differentiated product. Location of the property within London tends to play a large part of the product s differentiation, as some areas are more desirable than others. There are main factors that affect the real estate in London, which will greatly influence supply and demand. One of the factors that may affect supply is the lack of free land in desirable areas; this affects both residential and commercial properties alike. However, suppliers still tend to provide a large number of properties each year. During the period of June 2013 and June 2014 there was around 18,900 new buildings completed as provided by the UK government (Government stats, 2014). A factor that may affect demand is the rapid increase in population due to both immigration and migration; with the increase in population there is an increasing number of businesses looking for commercial property. • 48. New England Vs Chesapeake Bay Colonies During the 17th century, England decided to start colonizing the newfound Americas after watching other European nations do the same. The first few English settlements in the Americas were founded in two general regions now known as the Chesapeake Bay, and New England. Although the colonists from these two regions came from the same place, they soon began to distinguish themselves as the Chesapeake Bay colonies and the New England colonies. There were distinct differences between the two areas which had to do with many factors, including reason for settlement, climate, and the people who came over. The colonists who came over, all sailed from the same place. However, their intentions differentiated quite a bit. The first permanent settlement was Jamestown in the Chesapeake region. The settlers who came here were looking to get rich in the new world. They were hoping to find lots of gold like the Spanish did previously. According to Percy (2017), In December of that year, 104 settlers sailed from London with Company instructions to build a secure settlement, find gold, and seek a water route to the Pacific. (para. 1). The main reason that the first settlers came to Jamestown was to find gold and a new ship route. They weren t too concerned about making a lasting settlement for future families. They were more concerned with making money. The expedition to get to Virginia was funded by a joint stock company. This meant that this colony had the intent of making lots of money. ... Then it was originated from its modern form in the United States and United Kingdom during the mid 1950 s. Pop music is the most popular genre that produces the most hits. Pop and Rock music were synonymous terms until the late 1960 s. David Hatch and Stephen Millward describes pop music as a body of music which distinguishable from popular, jazz and folks music. Some people say that pop music is professional music which draws upon both folk music and fine arts music. Pop music has been a beneficial industry in America since the nineteenth century, yet Early Pop/Rock is a style that came to fruition in the post shake and move time, once the more moderate components of the record business had dealt with the new melodic scene. Early Pop/Rock developed in the late 50s, as the underlying rock and move furor started to fade away.
