Chinese Tigers Research Paper
Tiger Farming
You see the problem with nowadays is not the financial issues of countries, or poverty, nor crime, and
neither any political issues. It is the extinction of species, there are so many species that go extinct that
you probably do not know about. One such species is the Chinese tiger. These tigers have a sad story
due to their extinction. I believe that the Chinese tigers should be saved from mongrels who would use
their lives for personal gain, or even for any reason. I also hope that you share the same viewpoint as
me, but I will leave that decision to you after you read through my article.
First let us begin with why the Chinese Tiger is so special. The Chinese tiger is considered the Stem
Tiger , this means that all of the other tigers were originated from this species of tiger. So the well
renown Bengal and Siberian tigers are subspecies from the Chinese tiger. That makes these tigers a
treasured species to science. It also means that this species is irreplaceable. Sadly, this species bones
and other organs/ ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The supplies that they can create is by no means an equal trade out for the extinction of the entire
species. Just look at the albino rhino, there is only one male left in the entire world, it can no longer
reproduce. Meaning that the species is extinct. It is such a sad thing. I know that I do not want the
Chinese tiger to become like the albino rhino. I believe that these tigers should be put in captivity for
the time being until their numbers reach about 150, then we should release a little at a time back into
to the wild to get the ecosystem back to the way it was without endangering yet another species. So I
ask you to help, with something, anything. Call up an organization, raise funds near you, something,
just do something to save this species. I hope that the facts and statistics that you have read will make
you passionate enough to

Bipolar And Its Effects On The Individual
Have you ever spent a lot of time around or just know of someone who has been diagnosed as bipolar?
Or somebody who doesn t act like they are all there? Bipolar is genetics wise, you can get it through
DNA. It has many effects not only through the individual themselves but also family, friends, jobs,
education. People who are diagnosed with this disorder have many amazing support systems behind
them. There are medications, groups, therapy and friends and family who will always be there for
them. The individual being diagnosed with bipolar don t see exactly what others see, with being
bipolar it causes conflict in the family with that being said on daily basis fighting, yelling, reckless
behavior occurs. Bipolar has many internal effects on ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Children who are at the age of ten now have a fear of not being good enough to step up in a family.
When somebody leaves a family due to the lack of parenting because the bipolar is taking control of
them children are now having to take over the role of the parenting jobs because who else will be there
for them? Children learn from children; it is so unlikely for a child to learn from a parent being
diagnosed with bipolar. With all the fighting going on, it will build up stress upon everybody else,
having stress in a house will only make thing ten times worse because with everybody being stressed
out, they will get annoyed faster, don t have the patience, and just do what they feel like doing just so
they can get the stress off them and take it onto somebody else and that will cause more fighting,
arguing, and yelling and where does that get you? Absolutely nowhere but back to where it all started.
Mood swings are also a big part of the disorder; you think everybody has mood swings? Well we all
do but with being diagnosed with bipolar it affects them more serious than other individuals who are
not diagnosed with

The Importance of Nat Turner Essay
The Importance of Nat Turner
What was the importance of Nat Turner and where does he stand in American history? Nat Turner is
an American slave, who has been forgotten about in history as well in the hearts of African Americans.
He led and organized one of the bloodiest slave rebellions in American history. This rebellion was
#8230;the rebellion that served to change the course of American history in the three decades before
the Civil War (Goldman 10). Within this paper, it is to analyze on his impact on the nation. Nat Turner
was a slave son, who was born on October 2, 1800 in Southampton County, Virginia, to Benjamin
Turner. When Nat was born, Bisson pointed out according to legend, his mother was so determined

With this #8230;the pain and reality of slavery was a shock that was to have profound influence on his
life (Goldman 18). In 1821, Nat had decided to run away from his master and to live as a fugitive.
While on the run, he met his future wife, Cherry, who was also a slave that was working on the Turner
s farm. As time went by, after 30 days has passed Nat had returned to the plantation on his own
freewill. Because of his return Nat said, the reason of my return was, that the Spirit appeared to me
and said I had wishes directed to the things of this world, and not to the Kingdom of Heaven, and that
I should return to the service of my earthly master (Goldman 60). With his return, Nat went
unpunished and was returned to his daily work. In 1822, a tragedy bestowed upon the Turner s family.
Nat master, Samuel Turner, had died and with this it had resulted in separating up his family. With the
separation, Nat s mother was told to stay with Samuel Turner s daughter on the Turner s farm, while
Nat was sold to one farmer and his wife was sold to another (Bisson 28, 29). In this Nat was also
lucky, because his owner, Thomas Moore, was a neighbor of Giles Resse, who had became the owner
of his wife and children (Bisson 39). While he was working for his new owner, Thomas Moore, he
was also busy planning for his liberation. From 1825 1830, Turner served as a preacher because it
gave him the right to travel

Coral Bleaching In Australia
Coral reefs have one of the highest biodiversity of animals in one ecosystem than any others on the
entire planet. Coral reefs are colorful habitats in the ocean, some of which are not too far from the
shore. They are made from skeletons of calcium carbonate and animals, which make a rocky
substance known as coral. Coral reefs are a home to many different types of creatures that live under
the sea, some are unknown to a majority of the human species. Coral reefs are sometimes referred to
as the rainforest of the sea because they teem with life and abound in diversity (Agardy). Sadly, due to
the many factors of global warming, these natural treasures are dying from what is called bleaching .
Coral bleaching happens from the warming temperature ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Humans cause many of the signs that global warming is occurring daily towards different parts of the
world. Climate change is the main factor towards the rising sea levels, the temperature of the water,
and coral bleaching. The 2014 reports of the United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate
Change describe coral reefs as the most vulnerable marine ecosystem on Earth, stressing that they
have very limited capacity to adapt to rising water temperatures and acidification (Dormer). Many of
the coral reefs and the sea creatures that habitat there cannot adapt to the temperature of the water, so
many of the creatures will migrate somewhere more suitable. Fish are an important detail towards
coral reefs due to the fact that they protect them from algae and other bacteria that can harm the rocky
substance. By changing the commonwealth of humans, the money can be spent to establish more ways
to support the environment instead of harming it by making things the society does not need in order
to live life. The government could fund more money to environment helping organizations, and ending
the pessimistic ideas that the society believes in. Commonwealth is an easy solution that can be
completed only if humans realizes how much that their precious planet is being harmed by their

The Tragedy of the Commons and Collective Action Essay
The tragedy of the commons and the problem of collective action are two key concepts in the world of
political science. They act under the assumption that man is a rational being who will act in his own
self interest. Humanity id broadly diverse meaning that each individual has their own ideas as to how
society should run and how people should live.(heywood) This inevitably results in disagreement and
this is where politics steps in. Aristotle described politics as the master science , the activity through
which human beings attempt to improve their lives and create the Good Society. Through the tragedy
of the commons and the problem of collective action we can see how politics is essentially the search
for conflict resolution ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However Mancur Olson (cite) states in his book that rational self interested individuals will not act to
achieve their common or group interests. Coercion or other incentives are needed for this to occur.
Communication can be used as moral suasion (ostrom) This became known as the zero contribution
thesis . A social dilemma is when individuals choose actions that will affect others as well as
themselves. The individual will aim to benefit themselves short term which generally results in a
lower joint outcome. If the individuals acted collectively they would achieve a better optimal outcome
than the one they would achieve on their own. These social dilemmas have been characterised in game
theory by the prisoners dilemma. They will achieve the Nash equilibrium which is lower than the
socially desirable outcome. This is the problem of collective action. This is not to say that forms of
collective action cannot be seen in everyday world. Mobs, gangs, cartels, neighbourhood associations,
charities and voting are all forms of collective action. (ostrom) These social dilemmas are related to
common pool resources. The problem of free riding can be an issue. . There has to be governance of
common pool resources. If, for example collective action was man s natural instinct then

A Clockwork Orange
Anthony Burgess A Clockwork Orange is a dystopian novel set in an oppressive, futuristic state.
Published in 1962, A Clockwork Orange is an extremely intense, graphic, and, at times, horrifying
novel. A reader begins to question their own values as they become numb and desensitized to the
violence at hand. Both behaviorism and free will is occurring throughout A Clockwork Orange. A
Clockwork Orange brings up a question, how much control of our own free will do we actually have?
Do we really control our own lives, or are they subject to the cards we are dealt? In A Clockwork
Orange, behavior analysis and free will are displayed. Human nature has long since been in question.

Alex had control over the things that he was doing, and then it was taken away from him. We have
very limited control over what we do because society takes our free will away. Behaviorism has a
relation to free will. Watson s view on behaviorism is ...psychology should embrace behavior as its
subject matter and rely on experimental observation of that subject matter as its method (Moore 451).
Also Watson published his paper Psychology as the Behaviorist Views It, and in this paper he states:
Psychology as the behaviorist views it is a purely objective experimental branch of natural science. Its
theoretical goal is the prediction and control of behavior. Introspection forms no essential part of its
methods, nor is the scientific value of its data dependent upon the readiness with which they lend
themselves to interpretation in terms of consciousness (Harzem 6)
Watson set the stage for behaviorism, which soon rose to dominate psychology. Watson went a little
overboard in that paper. But on the good side, he attracted many enthusiastic followers, became the
national interest, made headlines in national newspapers, and was the subject of many articles in
popular periodicals. But then there were troubles that Watson s experiment wasn t considered Science

Changes on the Home Front in the United States and England...
The Home Front during World War II was the essential backbone of the military campaign that was
being waged in Europe and the Pacific. In order to ensure the success of the war the Home Front
needed to not only ensure its own survival but also the survival of the forces that were engaged in
combat. The Home Front of both the United States and England were similar in their practices of
supporting the war, but because of the advantages of the united states being isolated from the fighting
and being a land of plentiful recourses, and England being apart of an island nation extremely close to
the fighting, England had much more difficult position and their Home Front was under a much more
immediate threat. Both Home Fronts experienced hardships and dramatic changes in their society as
they were forced to adapt to a wartime economy, they were also forced to adapt to social changes and
a whole new society and way of life for the duration of the war that would also change the future of
both the United States and England. England being separated by only the English Channel had much
more to deal with than just a harsh restricted economy they also had to deal with the immediate threat
of could come from the European mainland. So England needed to mobilize its Home Front and this
was done so in many ways to inspire the necessary changes to help protect its citizens. The British
media and entertainment was essentially an extension of the war cabinet in raising public morale. The

Importance Of Love In Literature
How I got to where i am in literature I´ve had highs and lows with reading. I loved it then i hated it
then i loved it again and i hated it. Í started at a young age with picture books and soon came into the
big books. Ive done challenges and i have wrote for the school newspaper. I dont still do it but i will
always remember those. I started reading a writing at a young age. I was probably younger than I
could remember when my mother would read the short picture books to my while I lay in bed. One
book I remember was ¨The Very Hungry Caterpillar¨ by Eric Carle. I used to be in love with that book
I always thought that was the most interesting thing. Give or take I was only 2 years old. From then on
I read and read to the point where I was like Sonic reading all of those books. Nobody read faster in
my preschool, kindergarten and first grade classes. One day I was sitting in my kindergarten class and
teacher told us to go the library. We all had gotten in that single file line they always made us get in. I
hated that, it was always a nasty little competition to get to the front of the line. We would walk all the
way down to the library which felt like forever do to the never ending talking and shushing game the
teacher played with the one little rebel in the back of the line. When we get within the library it always
felt massive to me, could probably be due to the sheer massive size I was. I was probably 4´2 80
pounds. I got my bright blue book marker and started to walk

This year at Marian there was a big deal with drugs; the school decided to do an unannounced drug
bust. Through the day there were 150 students held and searched. By the end of the day there were
four seniors and two freshman expelled. A police officer asked our principle if she would like a sweep
of the entire school. Sister Mary Paul declined stating that she knew most of the students would not be
back tomorrow if she did that. This is the most pathetic thing I have heard from an administrator. If
she knows that her school is so bad why would she single out those six students? The answer is that
Marian is getting so bad with drugs that she knew she had to do something to stop these problems, so
she used these students as an example for the rest of us. Although private schools do have their down
points I think they are the best option. My parents said they would never send their dog to Crete
Monee, our public school, let alone their daughter. My mother went to Marian and my father went to
Bloom, the public school example, so they also know first hand the problems in these schools. Marian
has just recently started with the drug problems though. Rita, my mother, said that there was never any
problem at school when she went there; the gossip was always about what happened at Bloom today.
The main factor in this transition is money. When my mom went there, parents had a lot of money but
the children did not see a lot of it. Now, children flaunt their parents money

The Effects Of Environmental Degradation On The Environment
The human relationship to the environment has evolved over time as humans have made technological
advancements and cultural changes. While some may argue that humanity is distant from nature, that
could not be further from the truth. While the human relationship to nature is not the same as it may
have been in the past, humans still rely on nature for their livelihood. Humans also have a strong
impact on nature, and processes which occur in nature, through their actions.
In the last decade, the issue of environmental degradation has become a topic of global concern and
discussion. This discussion is threading together a narrative that helps the public and scholars better
understand the human relationship to the environment. While this push forward in environmental
agenda is a good thing, there needs to be an ongoing dialogue which allows for the understanding that
environmental degradation is not only a risk to a certain biome, but all of the diversity that exists
within a certain region a good example of this being Papua New Guinea.
The rainforest of Papua New Guinea are incredibly rich and diverse environments; the rainforest not
only houses a wide variety of plant and animal species, but is also home many indigenous groups. By
examining the changes in Papua New Guinea s rainforest throughout time, a better understanding of
the complex and dynamic human relationship to nature will be achieved.

An Example Of Realism In Journalism In Tennessee By Mark...
Mark Twain, real name Samuel Clemons, is an American journalist and humorist. He wrote during the
literary movement of Realism. For Twain, Realism was a way to speak the truth. Realism included
contemporary settings with typical people. It focused on social criticism and literature of the common
place. Realism related to the lives of those living in the mis to late 1800s and early 1900s. The
language of the writing was the way people spoke to each other included common phrases, words, or
slang. Realism writers also say things how they are. The short story by Mark Twain, Journalism In
Tennessee is a prime example of Mark Twain and Realism. In the story, We observe that our
contemporary of the Mud Springs Morning Howl has fallen into error. We see in this quote that Mark
Twain sets the stage of a contemporary setting. He also says things how it is with mentioning error. He
does not glorify the error or make it seem worse. Date of costume about 1848. These few words are an

Regulating Financial Industries
To regulate the financial industries, I would use the concept of command and control opposed to the
incentive system because deregulation of the financial system is what caused it to fall and the only
incentive these industries have is money, which they make more of by fraud. Command and control is
regulation of businesses and punishment if they do not follow directions made by the government.
Deregulation is the underlying cause for example, Iceland in 2000 deregulated the financial industries,
privatizing three of the biggest banks, where they borrowed $120 billion which lead to the banks
collapsing in 2008. After the US was hit with a period of deregulation, which was backed up by

were high quality. Running the Financial Products Division of AIG, Joseph Cassano made $300
million by committing AIG to insure more than a trillion dollars worth of junk quality loans held by
banks, but was brought down by Joseph St. Denis. The fall of the financial system is all due to
deregulation which would not be fixed by the incentive system because according to these investment
banks who frauded many investors, money would be the only incentive to stop, however, they would
most likely make more by continuing their actions rather than an incentive. Command and control
would reinstate regulation of these banks and punish those who commit criminal fraud. In addition,
the workers of these big corporations such as Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley and many others could
also be charged for spending corporate money on drugs and prostitutes. The people who fraud the
financial system and caused the collapse, economically destroying people s lives while making money
should be punished through the concept of command and

Making predictions also help students to make connections about what is read and real life
experiences. This is a great comprehension strategy because if students are able to make fairly
accurate predictions while reading, he or she will be able to comprehend the story well. Remember
good readers makes predictions.
Step By Step 1. Show students the titles and picture of a book cover they have never read before and
ask them to make a prediction what the book is about.
2. Then read the back cover or inside flap of the book out loud to see how close they came to the
mark.
3. Read a section of text or show another picture and then have students predict what is going to
happen next.
4. Let students write their predictions on sentence strips or prediction card and place each prediction
on the wall. Revisit the predictions once the action has been revealed in the story.
Example
This is an example of a prediction card. Teacher ask the question, where is Pete going? Students look
at each picture and write their guess. The pictures serves as the clue.

many different elements must be taken into consideration even before beginning to shoot. The tone of
the piece, what sort of lighting will be used, the location of the shots, and a palette for the film, are all
elements that need to be considered before the actual filmmaking begins. However, even with rigorous

The camera cuts away in the middle of this action, leaving the bag theoretically floating somewhere in
mid space. The next scene, however, begins with Enid grabbing the bag off of a table where she sitting
with her best friend Rebecca. The result is the feeling one single motion: the bag leaving Seymour s
hands and entering Enid s. This idea of continuous motion reoccurs several times during the film
helping the viewer connect scenes as well as ideas. Across screen movement is another technique used
to smooth edit points in the film. Often a person or group of people walking across the screen will act
as a wipe, pushing the last scene off while introducing the next. Most of the time the wipe is an
insignificant character such as a jogger or a car driving by. Human wipes are also used within scenes
to lead camera movement. A great example of this is Enid s art opening scene. In this scene the camera
uses one continuous shot to move from the outside of the gallery to the room where Enid s piece is
hanging. However this movement is not done in a single motion. Through out this movement the
camera pauses three times, each time motivated to move again by a group of people walking in front
of the camera in the same direction. This makes the movement of the camera surprisingly subtle. nbsp;
Ghost World also uses editing as a means of establishing time and building relationships between
characters. Sequential

Indian Boy Love Song Analysis
The poems New Orleans by Joy Harjo and Indian Boy Love Song (#2) by Sherman Alexie have two
very similar themes. Themes are underlying message, or main ideas, basically the theme is the lesson
you learned after you read a story, or in this instance a poem. The theme in New Orleans is that you
should put forth the effort to find out about your culture s history. While the theme of Indian Boy Love
Song(#2) is that you should, try your hardest to become close to your elders, don t be distant. While
both themes are focused on their culture, New Orleans is actually looking for information on her
Creek culture, but Indian Boy Love Song (#2) is apologizing about how he s distant from his culture.
In the poem New Orleans the theme is that to learn more about your culture, you should put forth the
effort. To get this message Harjo used compare and contrasting. For example They caught him in blue
rock, said don t talk. I know it wasn t just a horse that went crazy. This is showing development
because it s showing how her people got caught, and they attacked any and everything. Another way
the author shows this is by saying I have a memory. It swims deep in blood, a delta in the skin. This
shows that her heritage runs deep through her. In addition to these two quotes, another quote that
shows relation toward this development is Nearby is a shop with ivory and knives. There are red
rocks. The man behind the counter has no idea that he is inside magic stones. He

reputation plays a large role. The biggest example is that of a company s reputation amongst its
potential customers. A company s main performance goal is to earn a high level of profit, typically
through a high level of revenue. However, if that company has a poor reputation amongst those
potential customers, the company will not be earning their money. On the other hand, a business with
a highly though of reputation can also attract more customers than they otherwise would have,
therefore earning more revenue.
For social responsibility, the biggest impact a company s corporate reputation is found in that
company s ability to influence other companies to follow in social responsibility initiatives. If a

Fredrick Alternate Ending
I managed to get to the pod and to Charles before Fredrick, but it wasn t easy. The boy was on my
heels the whole damn way. I slammed the door to Charles s room as I entered, locking it, and then
turning to a very surprised Charles standing by his window. You two looked like seagulls going after
one prey. Fredrick banged on the door behind me. I tried to ignore his squeaky threats to barge down
the door. He probably could, but he wouldn t get past me. Not yet anyway. You have to tell him
Charlie. Charles s relaxed grin immediately turned into a sour frown. He ll try to stop me. He ll try
everything in his power, even knock me out and lock me in a closet. Keep me prisoner. He mustn t
know. Either you tell him now or I will. Right now, I didn t care about his amber eyes ... Show more

Being a carrier I figured it was just a matter of time before you figured the whole system out. The
messaging system, the resistance group. Fredrick gave a little laugh. He apparently found the brief
moments where he knew more than me amusing. When we need a meeting with the other important
dissenters, the ink shimmers. The person then takes the item and, very carefully I might add, takes it to
the nearest identity scanner. He scans the ink, and the location of our meeting or alerts will show up on
the screen. Genius, I know. Fredrick pointed to Charles. This boy is a genius. I had no words. Not at
the moment. I had seen the word, Detonate, shine in my books a million times and wondered what
Detonate was trying to reveal through it. You would have figured it out if we had stayed, Charles said.
I could tell by your aura when you were examining the graffiti, you were trying to decipher the
meaning. Kinda funny right? Fredrick said with one eyebrow arched. The perfect one designs bombs
for the beloved Mother Country but he, and his charming and handsome partner in crime, created a
revolution ready to detonate when the perfect moment arrives.

Using Resistant Soybean Cultivar And Crop Rotation
Soybean cyst management tactics include different method from place to place, but all have the
common method of using resistant soybean cultivar and crop rotation and these are found to be more
effective than others.(Niblack et al., 2003, Schmitt et al., 2004). Lotus japonicus is one of the
important model leguminous plant to study the interaction and compatibility of plant parasitic
nematode to cause infection (Lohar Bird, 2003). There are large number of resistant soybean cultivar
to SCN and most of the resistance is derived from the PI88788 and other PI548402 and PI437654 and
grower are also encouraged to do crop rotation along with the use of these cultivar because of
continues planting of the same variety supports the pathogen to changing the race for overcoming the
resistance (Niblack, 2005, Tylka Mullaney, 2002). Only occasional planting of SCN resistant without
any rotation allow to reproduce aggressively in resistant line because of selection pressure allowing
changing the race to overcome resistance (Young, 1998, Young Hartwig, 1988, Young, 1984) Annual
ryegrass, Lolium multiflorum residue is found to be effective to reduce the H. glycines population by
increasing the hatching of eggs of nematode in the absence of host and depletion of lipid reserved in
juvenile and decreases the parasitism of the pathogen. (Riga et al., 2001, Mock et al., 2009) Rotation
between resistant soybean and corn annually caused the lower in SCN population along with higher

Christian Beliefs On Abortion
Most Christians believe that the Bible is the word of God. Since they believe this, and since they
believe the Bible is true, many Christians take a biblical worldview position on the issue of abortion.
Christians value God s commandments in the Bible. They believe the Bible tells them what is right
and what is wrong. Since Christians hold the Bible to be their moral standard, that life begins at
conception, and that murder is wrong in the Bible, their value judgement is that abortion is morally
wrong. They take the moral stance that the Bible has religious authority from God and that they
should follow that authority and use it to make decisions on what is right and wrong. The Bible clearly
explains that it is morally impermissible to murder someone. The ten commandments, which ... Show

Lastly, Christians believe that their view of children should be consistent with that of Jesus . Jesus did
not believe that babies were inconvenient in any way. For instance, Jesus was preaching and people
were bringing their babies to Jesus to be blessed. The disciples sent the parents away because they
believed it was an inconvenience to Jesus. However, Jesus rebuked the disciples and welcomed the
children (Luke 18: 15 17). This shows that, to Jesus, children were not an inconvenience. Christians
believe that since they should model themselves after Jesus, and Jesus did not see children as
inconvenient, that it is wrong to get an abortion simply because it may be convenient, which is the
main reason people get abortions today. Christians who hold the biblical worldview of abortion
believe that abortion is morally wrong because the Bible is given the authority by God to tell them
what is right and wrong and from a biblical standpoint, abortion is wrong. Since the bible says that it
is wrong to murder, that life begins at conception, that killing the innocent is wrong, and that
Christians are supposed to be like Christ, the Biblical worldview stance is that

Gender And Race And Ethnicity Effect Participation
Giving definitions of each, outline how class, gender and race and ethnicity effect participation in
sport. Many ideologies in sport have caused controversy, relating to who is entitled to participate in
terms of gender, race, ethnicity and class. Participation can be defined as the action of taking part in
something , but excludes these potential barriers which can prevent an athlete from reaching their
sporting potential. This essay will explore some of these barriers which effect participation in sport,
with links to how those barriers have had an influence on the development of participation and
opportunities. Gender in sport has been an ongoing issue, especially for women, with many factors

Lewko and Greendorfer (1978) also indicated that boys had more opportunities and encouragement to
participate in sport through gender labelling of physical activities. These disadvantages for women in
sport lead to the development of Title IX a chapter of the 1964 education amendment to stop gender
barriers. Leading to today s society, over 5% of all women in college now play intercollegiate sports,
proving that gender stereotypes have decreased over time (Coakley, 2003). The media have also
created a positive outlook on women as an encouragement for them to be more active and involved in
sport, highlighting women in sport as being a normality. Despite these advances, there are still gender
inequalities associated with sport. For example, in a report from The Guardian, they shown how
previous England captain David Beckham had earned $42 million in 2008 compared to Kelly Smith
who earned only $32,000 over several months despite being considered the outstanding female player
of her generation . These kind of statistics show that, despite improvements in gender equality, there
are still concerns when comparing factors such as wage earnings and sporting opportunities. Racial
ideology in sport is a biological definition, defined as an interrelated set of ideas which people use to
give meaning to skin colour and to evaluate people in terms of racial classifications , also used to
place others into racial categories and evaluate

Using Cinematic Techniques In Steven Spielberg s Minority...
Minority Report
How does the filmmaker use cinematic techniques and narrative elements to explore their message
about a theme in Minority Report?
The government s interest in citizen privacy and freedom through technology in Steven Spielberg s
Minority Report, while allegedly for protection , is more so for political gain. While the introduction
of Pre Crime appears to have genuine intentions, the reality is that it has been founded upon inhumane
manipulation of precogs and their families. The lack of privacy and freedom across civilians is
depicted cinematic techniques, such as the construction of a monotonous environment as suggested
through the lack of colour. Additionally, the use of foreshadowing and characterisation narrative

While Big Data has shown to be useful for public services, Spielberg s construction shows how this
ultimately comes at the cost of privacy. Citizens of the District of Columbia in 2054 give up their
privacy for advertisement revenue alongside so called protection through the pre crime program,
offering to prevent the occurrence of murder by compromising their privacy through excessive
surveillance. Big data , a term coined to describe complex data such as photos or online activity has
been spoken of as a devil by the media in the recent age of technology. The tracking and identifying of
consumer habits in Minority Report remains one of many exemplified speculative Big data aspects
that have realised since the publication of the film. The store assistant which not only knows the
customer s name and types of products they purchase, can be seen all over the internet, personalised
advertising appearing as soon as a consumer has typed a search into Google. When a company has this

questionable as to how these agencies manage such information. With the foundation of the legal
system built upon covering a murder and concealed mistreatment of multiple human beings, invasion

The Teachings Of Georg Simmel And George Herbert Mead
Georg Simmel and George Herbert Mead are famously influential sociologists who made significant
contributions to the exploration of society, the construction and established theories of society and the
way individual people act within a society. Both of the sociologists were interested in the way that
people create the society and the laws used to govern from within. Despite the similarity of the subject
studied, the scientist took very different approaches in their research and beliefs. I ve even heard of
them referenced as the ying and yang of sociology . Mead is considered the paradigm of symbolic
interaction using a pragmatic approach in his research, Simmel focuses on duality and is often referred

The nature of I is entirely socially, its main characteristic is the ability to become an object for oneself,
hence, the ability to self consciousness, which distinguishes it from inanimate objects and living
bodies (p. 378). The features of the behavior and the establishment of the group, a specific socio
cultural system, a certain society, according to Mead are the concepts of generalized other. Elements
of the generalized other can also be inanimate objects in the form of objects of material culture and
physical environment.
The paragmatic standpoints of the sociologist are different. Simmel s vision is detacher from the
particular individuals and in concentrated on the group as the analysis item. Group, according to
Simmel, is an entity that has an independent reality, exists according to its own laws and is
independent of the individual agents. A group, just as an individual, has a tendency to self preservation
due to a special vitality, the basis and process of which Simmel studies. Mead, in his turn, seeks to
solve the problem of the individual self and consciousness about world and society. The key concept
in his research is the concept of action, active activity (and not just a passive reaction according to the
stimulus response scheme as in classical behaviorists). Both of them mind action as the part of the
social life, however,

The History Of Manifest Destiny
Manifest Destiny is a term coined in the 1840s. It meant that the United States could, and was destined
to, have all the land from coast to coast. The term Manifest Destiny was first used in an article by John
O Sullivan in 1845. O Sullivan stated in his article our manifest destiny to overspread the continent
allotted by Providence for the free development of our yearly multiplying millions. This sentiment
helped to fuel additional western settlement in the Oregon territory, increased desire to annex Texas,
and war with Mexico. United States President Polk was a supporter of Manifest Destiny.

strategies that are being used to meet those objectives. While Bally s has been doing well at this, they
should never get complacent and always be attentive to what is going on with all of their staff and all
of their members. Effective training and constant evaluation of staff members will insure top notch

In short, Bally Total Fitness has been faring well in the fitness industry. First quarter results of 2004
have shown that net revenue has increased from the previous year s first quarter but by only 2%. By
more aggressive marketing this number can increase more by the next year. Both a market penetration
strategy and a market expansion strategy should be utilized to further this objective. These strategies
will ensure that current and potential consumers will be aware of the product Bally Total Fitness has to

Humanistic Psychology Essay
Overview:
Throughout history many individuals and groups have affirmed the inherent value and dignity of
human beings. They have spoken out against ideologies, beliefs and practices, which held people to be
merely the means for accomplishing economic and political ends. They have reminded their
contemporaries that the purpose of institutions is to serve and advance the freedom and power of their
members. In Western civilization we honor the times and places, such as Classical Greece and Europe
of the Renaissance, when such affirmations were expressed.
Humanistic Psychology is a contemporary manifestation of that ongoing commitment. Its message is a
response to the denigration of the human spirit that has so often been implied in the image ... Show

It is guided by a conviction that intentionality and ethical values are strong psychological forces,
among the basic determinants of human behavior. This conviction leads to an effort to enhance such
distinctly human qualities as choice, creativity, the interaction of the body, mind and spirit, and the
capacity to become more aware, free, responsible, life affirming and trustworthy.
Humanistic psychology acknowledges that the mind is strongly influenced by determining forces in
society and in the unconscious, and that some of these are negative and destructive. Humanistic
psychology nevertheless emphasizes the independent dignity and worth of human beings and their
conscious capacity to develop personal competence and self respect. This value orientation has led to
the development of therapies to facilitate personal and interpersonal skills and to enhance the quality
of life.
Since there is much difficulty involved in inner growth, humanistic psychologists often stress the
importance of courageously learning to take responsibility for one as one confronts personal
transitions. The difficulty of

While Roman law acknowledged slave motherhood (Joshel Murnaghan 1981, p.8). Slavery within
Rome was largely dependent in labour; both enslaved men and women were recruited within different

men who were mostly recruited to work within the fields or mines . Enslaved Roman men and women
were critical in symbolic terms of wealth for their masters, especially those who served within the
domestic affairs. As these servants were responsible for the owners overall nobility These domestic
servants produced social status, not income, for their owners. They allowed their owners to live nobly:
they took care of their owners physical needs, symbolised slaveholders social status, and, as property,
displayed their owners wealth (Joshel 2010, p. 9). Enslaved women that worked within domestics,
especially cooking were subjected to poor working conditions and harsh treatment. The working
conditions experienced within an ancient Roman kitchen is described as being dark and poorly
ventilated, so the cook worked in a small room full of smoke and fumes (Joshel 2010, p. 25). Roman
kitchens also included a small corridor allowing other servants to transport dishes in and out of the
kitchen. In terms of harsh treatment, a slave cook could be beaten if their master found their work

  • 2. Chinese Tigers Research Paper Tiger Farming You see the problem with nowadays is not the financial issues of countries, or poverty, nor crime, and neither any political issues. It is the extinction of species, there are so many species that go extinct that you probably do not know about. One such species is the Chinese tiger. These tigers have a sad story due to their extinction. I believe that the Chinese tigers should be saved from mongrels who would use their lives for personal gain, or even for any reason. I also hope that you share the same viewpoint as me, but I will leave that decision to you after you read through my article. First let us begin with why the Chinese Tiger is so special. The Chinese tiger is considered the Stem Tiger , this means that all of the other tigers were originated from this species of tiger. So the well renown Bengal and Siberian tigers are subspecies from the Chinese tiger. That makes these tigers a treasured species to science. It also means that this species is irreplaceable. Sadly, this species bones and other organs/ ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The supplies that they can create is by no means an equal trade out for the extinction of the entire species. Just look at the albino rhino, there is only one male left in the entire world, it can no longer reproduce. Meaning that the species is extinct. It is such a sad thing. I know that I do not want the Chinese tiger to become like the albino rhino. I believe that these tigers should be put in captivity for the time being until their numbers reach about 150, then we should release a little at a time back into to the wild to get the ecosystem back to the way it was without endangering yet another species. So I ask you to help, with something, anything. Call up an organization, raise funds near you, something, just do something to save this species. I hope that the facts and statistics that you have read will make you passionate enough to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Or somebody who doesn t act like they are all there? Bipolar is genetics wise, you can get it through DNA. It has many effects not only through the individual themselves but also family, friends, jobs, education. People who are diagnosed with this disorder have many amazing support systems behind them. There are medications, groups, therapy and friends and family who will always be there for them. The individual being diagnosed with bipolar don t see exactly what others see, with being bipolar it causes conflict in the family with that being said on daily basis fighting, yelling, reckless behavior occurs. When somebody leaves a family due to the lack of parenting because the bipolar is taking control of them children are now having to take over the role of the parenting jobs because who else will be there for them? Children learn from children; it is so unlikely for a child to learn from a parent being diagnosed with bipolar. With all the fighting going on, it will build up stress upon everybody else, having stress in a house will only make thing ten times worse because with everybody being stressed out, they will get annoyed faster, don t have the patience, and just do what they feel like doing just so they can get the stress off them and take it onto somebody else and that will cause more fighting, arguing, and yelling and where does that get you? Absolutely nowhere but back to where it all started. Mood swings are also a big part of the disorder; you think everybody has mood swings? Well we all do but with being diagnosed with bipolar it affects them more serious than other individuals who are not diagnosed with ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. The Importance of Nat Turner Essay The Importance of Nat Turner What was the importance of Nat Turner and where does he stand in American history? Nat Turner is an American slave, who has been forgotten about in history as well in the hearts of African Americans. He led and organized one of the bloodiest slave rebellions in American history. This rebellion was #8230;the rebellion that served to change the course of American history in the three decades before the Civil War (Goldman 10). Within this paper, it is to analyze on his impact on the nation. Nat Turner was a slave son, who was born on October 2, 1800 in Southampton County, Virginia, to Benjamin Turner. With this #8230;the pain and reality of slavery was a shock that was to have profound influence on his life (Goldman 18). In 1821, Nat had decided to run away from his master and to live as a fugitive. While on the run, he met his future wife, Cherry, who was also a slave that was working on the Turner s farm. As time went by, after 30 days has passed Nat had returned to the plantation on his own freewill. Because of his return Nat said, the reason of my return was, that the Spirit appeared to me and said I had wishes directed to the things of this world, and not to the Kingdom of Heaven, and that I should return to the service of my earthly master (Goldman 60). With his return, Nat went unpunished and was returned to his daily work. In 1822, a tragedy bestowed upon the Turner s family. Nat master, Samuel Turner, had died and with this it had resulted in separating up his family. With the separation, Nat s mother was told to stay with Samuel Turner s daughter on the Turner s farm, while Nat was sold to one farmer and his wife was sold to another (Bisson 28, 29). In this Nat was also lucky, because his owner, Thomas Moore, was a neighbor of Giles Resse, who had became the owner of his wife and children (Bisson 39). While he was working for his new owner, Thomas Moore, he was also busy planning for his liberation. From 1825 1830, Turner served as a preacher because it gave him the right to travel ... • 5. Coral Bleaching In Australia Coral reefs have one of the highest biodiversity of animals in one ecosystem than any others on the entire planet. Coral reefs are colorful habitats in the ocean, some of which are not too far from the shore. They are made from skeletons of calcium carbonate and animals, which make a rocky substance known as coral. Coral reefs are a home to many different types of creatures that live under the sea, some are unknown to a majority of the human species. Coral reefs are sometimes referred to as the rainforest of the sea because they teem with life and abound in diversity (Agardy). Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Humans cause many of the signs that global warming is occurring daily towards different parts of the world. Climate change is the main factor towards the rising sea levels, the temperature of the water, and coral bleaching. The 2014 reports of the United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change describe coral reefs as the most vulnerable marine ecosystem on Earth, stressing that they have very limited capacity to adapt to rising water temperatures and acidification (Dormer). Many of the coral reefs and the sea creatures that habitat there cannot adapt to the temperature of the water, so many of the creatures will migrate somewhere more suitable. Fish are an important detail towards coral reefs due to the fact that they protect them from algae and other bacteria that can harm the rocky substance. By changing the commonwealth of humans, the money can be spent to establish more ways to support the environment instead of harming it by making things the society does not need in order to live life. The government could fund more money to environment helping organizations, and ending the pessimistic ideas that the society believes in. • 6. The Tragedy of the Commons and Collective Action Essay The tragedy of the commons and the problem of collective action are two key concepts in the world of political science. They act under the assumption that man is a rational being who will act in his own self interest. Humanity id broadly diverse meaning that each individual has their own ideas as to how society should run and how people should live.(heywood) This inevitably results in disagreement and this is where politics steps in. Aristotle described politics as the master science , the activity through which human beings attempt to improve their lives and create the Good Society. Through the tragedy of the commons and the problem of collective action we can see how politics is essentially the search for conflict resolution ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Coercion or other incentives are needed for this to occur. Communication can be used as moral suasion (ostrom) This became known as the zero contribution thesis . A social dilemma is when individuals choose actions that will affect others as well as themselves. The individual will aim to benefit themselves short term which generally results in a lower joint outcome. If the individuals acted collectively they would achieve a better optimal outcome than the one they would achieve on their own. These social dilemmas have been characterised in game theory by the prisoners dilemma. They will achieve the Nash equilibrium which is lower than the socially desirable outcome. This is the problem of collective action. This is not to say that forms of collective action cannot be seen in everyday world. Mobs, gangs, cartels, neighbourhood associations, charities and voting are all forms of collective action. (ostrom) These social dilemmas are related to common pool resources. A reader begins to question their own values as they become numb and desensitized to the violence at hand. Both behaviorism and free will is occurring throughout A Clockwork Orange. A Clockwork Orange brings up a question, how much control of our own free will do we actually have? Do we really control our own lives, or are they subject to the cards we are dealt? Watson went a little overboard in that paper. The Home Front during World War II was the essential backbone of the military campaign that was being waged in Europe and the Pacific. In order to ensure the success of the war the Home Front needed to not only ensure its own survival but also the survival of the forces that were engaged in combat. The Home Front of both the United States and England were similar in their practices of supporting the war, but because of the advantages of the united states being isolated from the fighting and being a land of plentiful recourses, and England being apart of an island nation extremely close to the fighting, England had much more difficult position and their Home Front was under a much more immediate threat. Both Home Fronts experienced hardships and dramatic changes in their society as they were forced to adapt to a wartime economy, they were also forced to adapt to social changes and a whole new society and way of life for the duration of the war that would also change the future of both the United States and England. England being separated by only the English Channel had much more to deal with than just a harsh restricted economy they also had to deal with the immediate threat of could come from the European mainland. Í started at a young age with picture books and soon came into the big books. Ive done challenges and i have wrote for the school newspaper. I dont still do it but i will always remember those. I started reading a writing at a young age. I was probably younger than I could remember when my mother would read the short picture books to my while I lay in bed. One book I remember was ¨The Very Hungry Caterpillar¨ by Eric Carle. I used to be in love with that book I always thought that was the most interesting thing. Give or take I was only 2 years old. From then on I read and read to the point where I was like Sonic reading all of those books. Nobody read faster in my preschool, kindergarten and first grade classes. One day I was sitting in my kindergarten class and teacher told us to go the library. We all had gotten in that single file line they always made us get in. I hated that, it was always a nasty little competition to get to the front of the line. We would walk all the way down to the library which felt like forever do to the never ending talking and shushing game the teacher played with the one little rebel in the back of the line. When we get within the library it always felt massive to me, could probably be due to the sheer massive size I was. I was probably 4´2 80 pounds. Through the day there were 150 students held and searched. By the end of the day there were four seniors and two freshman expelled. A police officer asked our principle if she would like a sweep of the entire school. Sister Mary Paul declined stating that she knew most of the students would not be back tomorrow if she did that. This is the most pathetic thing I have heard from an administrator. If she knows that her school is so bad why would she single out those six students? The answer is that Marian is getting so bad with drugs that she knew she had to do something to stop these problems, so she used these students as an example for the rest of us. Although private schools do have their down points I think they are the best option. My parents said they would never send their dog to Crete Monee, our public school, let alone their daughter. My mother went to Marian and my father went to Bloom, the public school example, so they also know first hand the problems in these schools. Marian has just recently started with the drug problems though. Rita, my mother, said that there was never any problem at school when she went there; the gossip was always about what happened at Bloom today. The main factor in this transition is money. • 14. The Effects Of Environmental Degradation On The Environment The human relationship to the environment has evolved over time as humans have made technological advancements and cultural changes. While some may argue that humanity is distant from nature, that could not be further from the truth. While the human relationship to nature is not the same as it may have been in the past, humans still rely on nature for their livelihood. Humans also have a strong impact on nature, and processes which occur in nature, through their actions. In the last decade, the issue of environmental degradation has become a topic of global concern and discussion. This discussion is threading together a narrative that helps the public and scholars better understand the human relationship to the environment. While this push forward in environmental agenda is a good thing, there needs to be an ongoing dialogue which allows for the understanding that environmental degradation is not only a risk to a certain biome, but all of the diversity that exists within a certain region a good example of this being Papua New Guinea. The rainforest of Papua New Guinea are incredibly rich and diverse environments; the rainforest not only houses a wide variety of plant and animal species, but is also home many indigenous groups. Regulating Financial Industries To regulate the financial industries, I would use the concept of command and control opposed to the incentive system because deregulation of the financial system is what caused it to fall and the only incentive these industries have is money, which they make more of by fraud. Command and control is regulation of businesses and punishment if they do not follow directions made by the government. Deregulation is the underlying cause for example, Iceland in 2000 deregulated the financial industries, privatizing three of the biggest banks, where they borrowed $120 billion which lead to the banks collapsing in 2008. The fall of the financial system is all due to deregulation which would not be fixed by the incentive system because according to these investment banks who frauded many investors, money would be the only incentive to stop, however, they would most likely make more by continuing their actions rather than an incentive. Command and control would reinstate regulation of these banks and punish those who commit criminal fraud. Most of the time the wipe is an insignificant character such as a jogger or a car driving by. Human wipes are also used within scenes to lead camera movement. A great example of this is Enid s art opening scene. In this scene the camera uses one continuous shot to move from the outside of the gallery to the room where Enid s piece is hanging. However this movement is not done in a single motion. Through out this movement the camera pauses three times, each time motivated to move again by a group of people walking in front of the camera in the same direction. The theme in New Orleans is that you should put forth the effort to find out about your culture s history.
