The Effect Of Noble s Technique And Ta Training On Reducing
Proposal: Effect of Two Different Exercises on Reducing IRD in DRA
Research Question: What is the effect of Noble s Technique and TA training on reducing
Abstract
Background and Significance By the third trimester, 2 in 3 pregnant women develop diastasis rectus
abdomen (DRA). Although the DRA onset is painless, it is associated with other complications
including low back pain, pelvic dysfunction and altered abdominal strength. Despite the high
prevalence of DRA, there is little research on conservative therapy treatments. Purpose This study
aims to determine the effectiveness of two exercises, TA training and Noble s Technique, on
reducing inter recti distance (IRD) in post partum women and to secondarily look at changes in
pain. Methods ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Although the development of DRA is often painless,4 DRA is associated with other complications.
DRA causes disruption in the abdominal wall, which may affect core stability, posture, trunk
motions and low back pain.1,5 Because of the painless nature of a DRA,4 women s health PTs
found most of their patients with DRA were referred with other diagnoses, the most being low back
pain followed by floor dysfunction, pelvic pain, and urinary incontinence.2
One study found that women with DRA have higher chance of increased pelvic and abdominal pain
compared to women without DRA.6 Another study looking at urogynecological patients found
prevalence of DRA in 52% of those patients.7 Although this has not been determined to be a causal
relationship, an association has been demonstrated between the presence of DRA and increased
number of pelvic floor dysfunctions (including myofascial pelvic pain, incontinence and prolapse)
compared to patients without DRA.7 In addition to having pain, subjects with IRD over 3.5 cm
were less successful at performing pelvic tilt and trunk curls than subjects without DRA.8 DRA
presence alters the line of force of the RA and this change in biomechanics results in reduced torque

African American Traditions
African American, also known Black American, is a very mixed and compacted culture. From
history to present day, traditions taken back from slavery to the hip hop age. Incorporating
details from all different times in history. Starting with the Music, African Americans have a
very intellectual way of expressing their feelings, pain, history and teaching lessons, which
really started from old hymns sung by slaves. From Jazz, to blues, to hip hop, all different forms

The Culture And Society Of Thailand And Montana, Usa
The Culture and Society of Thailand and Montana,USA
I lived in Thailand for about 14 years before I moved to Montana, and the culture between the two
are very different but there is some similarity. I was raised in Thailand by my mother and father,
my father an Italian American from New Jersey and my mother a Thai who lived in Thailandher
whole life. I grew up with two sisters and a couple of my cousins living with my family. In this
paper I would be giving you my view of literacy from a cultural point of view, and the difference
literacy from the two cultures I lived in.
The culture and society in Thailand is very traditional conservative environment, where the
youth respects the elders, people respect other s view, wearing appropriate clothes, and good
kind manners to others. I lived in a city called Pattaya City. It s a very famous tourist destination
where people all around the world come over to visit and spend their vacation. One of the
biggest attractions for the city is the beach and the night life, so for being a famous tourist
attraction that means it will be a multicultural environment where you get to meet people from
all around the world. Thailand has been called the land of smile for many years because of the
kindness of the Thai people and that s a big attraction for Thailand. Thai people are very kind and
helpful, they would help you in about any situation you get into, but like in every society around
the world there are always bad people involved in

European Community Law Enacted Into Domestic Law
The European Communities Act 1972 was passed by parliament, this introduced the European
Community law enacted into domestic law. On the 1st January 1973, the United Kingdom joined
the European communities, along with other European nations, and this embarked on the nations
becoming the European Union. On the 23th June 2016, the European UnionReferendum Act 2015
took place questioning as to whether the United Kingdomshould leave the European Union, and
thus, the people voted in agreement to leave. This triggered Article 50 of the Treaty on European
Union, whereby Prime Minister Theresa May is to give liable notification to exit the European
Union. This allows a two year open window to discuss a withdrawal agreement. The R (Miller) v
Secretary of State for Exiting the European Union case discusses as to whether the Crown s notice
is substantial to give notice of this leave.
The legal issue presented before us asks if the Crown Court has the prerogative power to give
notification under Article 50 to exit the European Union without notifying parliament. This
foreseeing the risk of losing European Union statutory rights. The Crown agrees so, and this brings
into question parliaments sovereignty, Britain s constitutional statutes and what can be perceived as
a diminishing history of democracy.
The defendant Secretary of State pinpoints that in the ECA 1972, 2015 Referendum Act or any
other United Kingdom legislation passed by parliament states no terms which show that the

Human Nature In Lord Of The Flies By William Golding And...
Looking back through the history of humankind, there is an eminent pattern of primitive and
truculent behaviour. William Golding and Joseph Conrad recognised this basic nature of humanity
and portrayed it in their novels, Lord of the Flies and Heart of Darkness. The environmental and
circumstantial influence on one s humannature is thought to have the greatest impact, as the
isolation from civilisation manumits the evil inside. Human nature, according to the Oxford
Dictionary, is the general psychological characteristics, feelings, and behavioural traits of
humankind, regarded as shared by all humans. These novels exemplify the concept of this
behaviour to show how the savage nature of a person is brought to light by the influence of... Show

For the boys, the loss of clothing is seen as an adaptation to their environment, however, the
placing of this transition at the beginning of the hunting, suggests the beginning of the savagery.
Through this, we are reminded of humanity s capacity for evil and how man made moral systems
are superficial. Piggy, is represented as the voice of reason, when he cleans his glasses it means
that his line of logic and nature blur. His loss of sight, after having his glasses stolen represents
the fall of reason. The change in Piggy s attitude, due to the loss of sight, represents the shift of
power from the reign of reason to the reign of savagery. It is the boys descent from civilisation
into savagery that highlights that it is the eyes of civilization that keeps humanity s darkness in
check, but when we are surrounded by the silent whisper of the wilderness, we lose ourselves to the
darkness.
Joseph Conrad, in Heart of Darkness, explores the concept that all behaviour and choices and the
need and desire of the individual lie at the very core of their human nature. Civilisation is a
construct that is designed to serve as a means of control of this core. Marlow, whose thoughts and
attitudes shape the reader s perception of the story, has a revelation

Summary OfAmerican Sonnet To My Past And Future Assassin
Societal Reluctance and Reflection
American Sonnet to my Past and Future Assassin by Terrance Hayes is a modern American sonnet
whose focus is a black man struggling to comprehend his place in society. The speaker of the poem
illustrates his dilemma through comparisons to the respected black musicians of the twentieth
century to whom he feels a deep connection to. The tone of the sonnet is one of contemplation, or
even uncertainty, as the speaker outlines his thoughts in reluctance, questioning both himself and
his audience. Befitting of the overall tone, the sonnet commences with uncertainty, plainly
illustrated with the language of the speaker s initial statement: I m not sure how to hold my face
when I dance (1), for he arranges his words to portray a feeling of vacillation. Immediately
following this reflective proclamation, the speaker poses three questions, all of which allude to the
contemplative tone apparent in the text. While these inquiries regard the subject of dance, the
speaker also intends for them to be metaphors for the uncertainty he, as a black man, has for his
place in society. His questions are rapid fire, almost probing the audience for answers that are
seemingly nonexistent. As a result of the rapidity, there is an absence of breaks for these questions
to be answered, evincing the speaker s belief that they, in fact, have no answers. These first four
sentences are crucial in the sonnet s development, as they kindle ruminations for both the speaker
and the audience. Promptly thereafter, the narrator compares his own hesitant nature to the eminent
musician Jimi Hendrix, and how, I hear Jimi Hendrix /Was also unsure in dance despite being
beautiful /And especially attuned (5 7). Similar to the preceding lines, reluctance cloaks the prose
like a veil. Note how the line begins with I hear... The narrator uses this as a prelude to the claim to
emanate a feeling of uncertainty. Moreover, in his dubiety, the speaker appears to treat the
comparison as almost frivolous and trivial; ergo, the connection itself upholds the poem s hesitant
tone. Regardless, this remark can also be interpreted as an analogy for society. Hendrix, despite his
unequivocal beauty, had difficulty discerning his

Mental Health Act Analysis
The first piece of legislation which supported individual with mental health was the Mad House
Act (1774). This piece of legislation was ineffective as it resulted in negative outcomes for
individuals with mental and physical disabilities, as they were treated in an undignified way in
cramped and unsubstantial conditions being viewed by the public for a penny. However, the
Lunacy Act (1845 1930) was a more positive outcome, making it a legal requirement for county
owned asylum to be inspected and had to have licenses for best practice and to promote the rights
of the patients within and outside the facility, although, this was not the case in some facilities
where failure and low morale caused negative impacts to the patients treatments (Lester, 2010).
Furthermore, in the 1900 s the Mental Deficiency Health Act came into implementation in (1913
1938) where children and vulnerable adults would have been placed institutional settings, until the
amendment to the Mental Health Act (1959). This act abolished the categories of legal distinction
of mental health and prevented those who did not need to go for example, a mother who is unwed
and had repeated amount of children as they were seen to be defective (Pilgrim, D, 2014). The

Advantages Of African American Freedom
Freedom is the power to determine action without restraint, and it is the foundation of our lives
today. Every race has the freedom to vote, go to whichever school they choose, take place in office,
sit in any sector of the bus, etc. Around the 1860 s, Northern African Americans had freedom, but
unlike today, their freedom was restricted. In 1850, before the beginning of the civil war, the
population census concluded that fourteen percent of the population was African American. By
1860, 476,000 of them were free from slavery, but only 221,000 lived in the North. After
winning the Revolutionary war the Northern states gradually began to end slavery and it was
officially abolished in 1842. With all factors in mind, the question of just how free blacks were in
the North still lingers in the air. Blacks in the North were only somewhat free in the years just
before the civil war because they endured restrictions in social, political, and educational areas of
society.
To begin with, northern blacks were only somewhat free because they still had to encounter
segregation, discrimination, and prejudice in their social freedom. Although they were free to live,
they had to use restrooms, public areas, schools, etc. that were specifically assigned to their race. An
English Visitor, Charles Mackay, defined his travels by stating, he shall not be free to dine and
drink at our board...to attend us at the bed of sickness and pain to mingle with us in the concert
room, the lecture room, the theatre, or the church, (document B). African Americans were not
given the opportunity to associate with anyone of the white race, nor were they allowed to be in
the same location as them. Since the white race was considered the superior race , and were
heavily discriminant towards the black race, their segregated public facilities were a lot nicer than
those of african americans. Also, prejudice made it harder for black people to attain jobs. In a
graduation speech made by an african american, he proclaimed white boys won t work with me.
Shall I be a merchant? No one will have me in his office (document C). Because of their race,
african americans struggled to get employed. In society, northern blacks had to suffer through

Difference Between Liberal And Difference Feminism
King, 1 Sheridan Louise King Midterm POL192b: Legal Theory 1. What is the difference between
liberal and difference feminism? In order to differentiate liberal feminism from difference
feminism, it is important to clarify on the outset the exact definition of each term. According to
Martha Fineman (2005), feminism can be defined as a gender based theory focusing on challenging
the assertions and assumption revolving gender neutrality. Specifically, feminism deals with the
assumptions and values based on gender that generate gender and societal inequalities. In this
context, therefore, liberal feminism can be defined as the idea that emphasizes women s likeliness
with men, and thus, deals both with banning treatment that fosters gender bias and also establishing
laws and regulations that cater to equal opportunities for both men and women (Fineman, 2005).
Conversely, difference feminism holds the idea of different treatment, in which equal treatment is
not seen as sufficient (Fineman, 2005). With these clarifications, therefore, it is clear that liberal
feminism and difference feminism contrast due to their conflicting ideas in gender treatment.
Primarily, liberal feminism outlaws any and all bias behavior discriminating against gender types,
whereas difference feminism resorts to the idea that the difference of gender essentially calls for
different treatment, hence men and women should be treated differently (Fineman, 2005). The
difference in these two ideas, thus, lies

Viking Settlements
Viking presence during the period between the 8th and 15th centuries is widely accepted among
Scottish historians, but the exact impact on the region has been strongly debated by scholars
because of the lack of archeological evidence of Norse settlements. Within the last few decades new
information has emerged that reinforces the much larger view of a more prominent impact by the
Vikings within Scottish history. This evidence points to a longer period of Viking influence in the
areas of linguistics, town names, festivals, advanced metallurgy, and communal settlements.
Though the history of Viking interaction with the people of Scotlanddid not begin in any specific
year, the violent raids on Iona and Portmahomack brought their presence into focus for the Picts
inhabiting the area. The monks at Iona, which was founded by St. Columba in 563 ... Show more

He notes that diet varies by length of stay in one area. For instance, Viking settlements that appear
to last for generations tended to have a diet that included cereal and whole grains because they
were able to farm. Short term encampments show a diet rich in wild birds and fish. Jones believes
the evidence of an agricultural Viking society would mean non aggressive interaction with the
indigenous people of Scotland, at least for some groups, and a steady assimilation into Scottish
society.
Other groups began to form trade routes, with artifacts from Uzbekistan, Russia, and Ireland found
in Viking settlements supporting this. Neil Price , who specializes in Viking Age Scandinavia,
believes there is enough evidence to conclude that Vikings were trading their state of the art swords
and knives for exquisite jewelry and precious stones throughout the

Lifting Weights
English 101
8 May 2014
Lifting
Natural God given talent can only get an athlete so far. At some point they will need to realize
that hard work will take them much further than talent ever could taking them. When an athlete
trains during the off season by lifting weights it helps him or her become physically ready for the
season ahead. Without pre training, showing up on the day of tryouts and hoping to be great and
being able to do well is a horrible idea. A weight lifting program is essential for any athlete to
achieve top performance.
Weight lifting is important for several reasons. First and foremost it prepares an athlete s body to
endure the rigors of the physical sports. Typically athletes will experience an enhanced ability to ...

Lifting weights strengthens bones and tendons. It helps increase muscle volume and muscle
conditioning. It allows an athlete to perform with a higher level of strength and speed. Physically,
athletes whom weight train and are in good condition will also be able to recover faster if and
when an injury occurs. I see this in our setting and it is a proven fact (Asing Interview).
If an athlete sustains an injury, the goal is to strengthen their injured part and also their overall
body. This is why weight trainingis such an important subject for all sports from the court to the
field or even water sports. Even though someone may have surgery on one arm he or she can still
work out on the other arm and it benefits him or her by having a faster and quicker recovery. Lifting
just strengthens those muscles that were injured so it will make them stronger for the next time
they are used. With an injury lifting can help the rehab by strengthening what is needed. For
example, if an athlete tears the anterior cruciate ligament, ACL, then strengthening the muscles
around the knee such as the quadriceps and hamstrings will help the knee stabilize both before and
after surgery, if needed. Lifting despite an injury can also lead to mental strength because athletes
who get injured usually go into some depression because they cannot participate in what they love.
So any little growth in rehab helps build the self esteem of an athlete because

Select One Of The Three Characteristics Of Information...
1.Select one of the three characteristics of information security (CIA) and explain its importance as
related to the development of policy, education, OR technology.
Confidentiality is one of the three characteristics of the C.I.A. model. It establishes those with
sufficient privileges and the need to access the information. Confidentiality is most related to
information privacy. It is extremely important to protect the information of employees, customers,
or patients. No matter what type of organization it is it will disclose confidential information. That
being said, all confidential information is vulnerable to accidental exposure or an intentional hack.
If an unauthorized individual or system views the information, confidentiality is breached.
Confidentiality contains several measures that are applied to protect the confidentiality of
information. These measures include information classification, sure document and data storage,
application of general security policies, education of information custodians and end users.
Confidentiality must be met in the storage, processing, and transmission of data in an organization.
For example, we are going to look at a major recent data breach. On March 8, 2017, the US
department of homeland security sent Equifax and notice to patch a vulnerability in versions of the
Apache Struts software. On March 9, Equifax dispersed the information to applicable personnel.

Women s Roles In The Tang Dynasty
Women s role in Ancient Chinese civilisation was always vital to society due to their role in the
family and during the Tang and Song dynasty significant changes occurred, changing Chinese
women s lives forever. While it is no secret women were inferior to men in the history of China,
not many are aware of the major differences of the status of women from dynasty to dynasty. The
Tang Song dynasties ruled from 618AD to 1279 AD and many distinct differences between these
two dynasties can be observed. Women s role in these dynasties primarily included domestic duties,
with the introduction of new roles to the female gender. Their role was very important to society as

It is known for being flourished with women rights. The Song dynasty s society definitely had its
differences to Tang, For instance, the prime minister of the Song dynasty might take a bath in
the same public bath house as everyone else, which would be unthinkable in the Tang Dynasty ,
(Wang, 2003). This is quoted from a secondary source from a professor studying Chinese history
and shows how different the societies were between the two. Men were still greatly superior to
women in this period. In contrast with the Tang dynasty, women in this period despite it
following the Tang dynasty, were not allowed into positions of great importance like
government officials or be involved in politics and were just expected to stay at home and take
care of the household. But women of this period, unlike those of Tang, were had equal societal
and legal rights that enabled them to control their own dowry, able to establish small businesses
and were equal to men when it came to terms of inheritance, (Yuan, 1984). Essentially, Tang
dynasty women were bolder and more active in the society where the women of the Song dynasty
were more academically inclined and well reserved and respectful. Although the society themselves
were different in certain aspects, women s role between the two were similar. Both of these
dynasties were divided by gender,

The Importance Of Discrimination In The Film Industry
the main synonym neither to the discrimination in the industry nor the lack of female
professionals. Discrimination is not only lack of representation of the gender, but in this case
also representation of only a small pool of women specialists (Paydar 5). The same female actors,
directors, producers, writers, etc. are hired repeatedly, mostly those connected to the males at the
top of the hierarchical ladder or having had experience and success with the same studio before
(John 432 437). Existence of female professionals and hiring of a female for a project does not
indicate the overcoming of systemic barriers. The question is not only in the number or percentage
of women involved in the production, but about diversity and equal opportunities. Another
component of initial hiring practices in filmstudios is correlation with law and associations
requirements. Diversity requirement that is standard for the industry usually poses a quota that
allows the employer to hire females or maleminorities. By providing a choice of hiring a male of
color or a female, this provision allows studios to evade anti discriminationlaws (Paydar 8).
Fighting all these exclusions based on sex and discrimination practices is possible mostly by
individual court orders through several claims available to women within US laws (Bureau of
National Affairs). However, there is a limited number of women in any field of the film industry
who would go to court suing multimillion studios that control a

The Basics Of Synchronous And Asynchronous Circuits
ABSTRACT The aim of the presented report is to understand the basics of synchronous and
asynchronous circuits. The term paper is about synchronous and asynchronous circuits and their
differences. The advantages and disadvantages of both synchronous and asynchronous circuits
are discussed further. Digital circuits and sequential circuits are also described in brief at the
beginning of the report. The clock gating, self clock gating and clock signals are explained.
Further, the sequential machines moore and mealy are discussed along with their differences
and variations. In the end, the differences between the two types of circuits are highlighted. Also,
the term paper is summed with a conclusion in the end. What are digital circuits? Those circuits
wherever the signal should be one in every of 2 distinct levels is referred to as digital circuit.
Every level is taken into account jointly of 2 completely different states. Example on/off, 0/1,
true/false etc. In comparison to analog circuits, digital circuits are less susceptible to noise or
degradation in quality, additionally the errors are detected and corrected simply with the
assistance of digital signals. EDA ELECTRONIC style AUTOMATION tools (a style of package
that improves or enhance the logic in digital circuit) is employed by the engineer to automatize the
method of coming up with such circuits. ADVANTAGES Some of the essential benefits of

Good And Evil In Lord Of The Flies Research Paper
It is an important life question that everyone has asked throughout humanity: are human born
good or evil? It has been repeatedly asked and for years people have debated whether we have a
good nature or an evil one. In my opinion, I believe human nature causes people to be bad and
require the need to be controlled. This question can be seen in William Golding s Lord of the Flies
and it can be speculated that Golding viewed human nature as an evilone. Throughout the book and
humanity, there are several clues that can lead us to the answer. It is evident in every part of the
world; there is evil. From the six million Jews that have been executed in World War II, to the
thousands of African people used as slaves, and to every schoolyard bully.... Show more content on

In our society, people at a young age are taught and forced to be good to one another. As you can
see babies and younger children are self centered and misbehave frequently. Kids often believe
things must go their way and can be cruel bullies to one another. During kindergarten and early
years of elementary school, children can be seen fighting for toys. However, our teachers and
parents taught us that if we misbehave, we will be punished. If we were naturally born good,
wouldn t we be able to act good naturally? In Lord of the flies, the boys arrived on the island well
behaved and stated they will survive because they are English. However, their set of rules were
not obeyed and slowly the boys stopped following the laws of civilization. The boys ranged from
ages 5 to 12 years old, thus the younger children were easily capable of becoming savage as they
were not taught how to be courteous. As well, the younger boys did not know what they were
doing was wrong. The children were exposed to violent manners from the older boys and quickly
developed to behave like them. As evident in the final scene of Lord of the Flies, one of the littlun

Ineffective decision making at any level can slow or stop the learning. In other words, all relevant

Lord of the Flies Comparative Essay (Film vs Book)
Lord of the Flies comparative essay
The novel, Lord of the Flies by William Golding was published in 1954. It s the story of a group
of boys stranded on an island with no adults. Since then, it has had two film adaptions. The first
adaption was produced in 1963, directed by the Englishman Peter Brook. This version was
filmed in black and white and follows the events of the book very closely. The second adaption
came twenty seven years later in 1990, which was directed by the American Harry Hook. The
second adaption did not quite follow the novel in terms of symbolism, the beast and the overall
theme while the first adaption was more faithful to the novel.

in their film making. They will not show you the whole picture, but they will hint towards it. In the
film, it is only hinted that Wilfred was hurt by Jack s tribe, but never shown or confirmed.
Peter Brook is the director of the 1963 version of Lord of the Flies. He used many different
cinematic features in his film. The montage at the beginning of the film was expertly used to
show the contrast between the innocence of the schoolboys, to the evil of war and destruction
with the images of rockets and explosions. The montage explains how the plane crashed, with
images of a plane entering huge, dark clouds. This was followed by images of lighting and the
sounds of thunder. During the montage, there is a choir singing a Greek song which is called
Lord have Mercy. This is an ominous hint that that something will go horribly wrong on the
island. To show the thoughts of his characters, Peter Brook used actions to convey thoughts.
When Ralph is talking at an assembly, the sound of wood being hacked at is heard. It is revealed
that Jack is hacking at his spear with a knife. This conveys the thoughts of Jack, it shows the
violence and savagery that he will be apart

The Importance Of Zoos In The Conservation Of Animals
Zoos and aquariums are some of the best places for you and your family to get connected to
nature and become engaged in conservation action ( Society ). Zoos are essential in growing
public awareness of nature. Recently, zoos have faced controversies from animal activists. Many
believe animals are restrained of their rights. Furthermore, individuals believe it is wrong to
display animals for entertainment which is unethical and unnecessary. However, such perception
is only one of many aspects. On the contrary, zoos play an irreplaceable role in species
conservation. Today, there are plethora of zoos around the globe. Zoos are beneficial to the world
because they are critical to conservation.
Zoos play an important role in the conservation of animals in the wild, mostly endangered or
exotic species. Zoos provide benefits for these animals in various ways.
They will not suffer from the threat or stress of predators (and nor will they be killed in a grisly
manner or eaten alive) or the irritation and pain of parasites, injuries and illnesses will be treated,
they won t suffer or die through drought or starvation and indeed will get a varied and high quality
diet with all the supplements required. (Hone).
Hone points to potential benefits zoos may provide for these animals. By eliminating the risk of
sickness, starvation, and predators endangered and exotic species, not only limited to them but any
animal, are able to thrive. Zoos also play a role in breeding species. The

The Physical Environment Of The Classroom
The physical environment of the classroom
As I walked into the classroom, I noticed many visuals, hands on materials, child size tables and
chairs. The visuals around the classroom were pictures/ descriptions that can help the children
identify things around the room. For example: centers, a word wall that consisted of sight words
that they have learned in the past and words that are being added, shapes and colors, a calendar,
classroom rules, and a sign language chart so that the children can learn his or her alphabets in
sign language. In addition, the children s authentic artwork were posted on the art board. For a
large group of 15 children, the classroom space was very limited. In this specific classroom, the
ratio was 2:15 (1 teacher, 1 aide and 15 children) and this classroom isn t shared with another class.
The classroom has two long tables with six chairs per table: six red chairs and six blue chairs. The
cooperating teacher explained that she has a red table and blue table because she wanted to
separate specific friends due to behavioral issues. For circle time, the teacher has a rocking chair
right in front of the circle time mat and everything on the circle time board is to the children s eye
level and child size. The circle time rug is big enough so that the children have space and they can
see and hear the teacher. So far from what I have observed, the children have access to books,
crayons, markers, writing utensils such as pencils, and journals.

Cultural Competency For A Nursing
Cultural competency is extremely indispensable in nursing practice so that nurses can provide
optimal care for patients from diverse cultural backgrounds. Therefore, insufficient knowledge and
skills of cultural competency has continued to increase racial and ethnic inequalities in healthcare
services especially for minority groups (Dunagan et al. 2013; Long, 2012). As Nurses interact with
clients they provide care, education and advocacy at any point in need. Cultural awareness

RESULTS The studies carefully chosen for the review consist of articles that employed multiple
research methods. The combination of different research methods was to improve the strategies to
enhance data collection and extraction (Whittemore Knaffle, 2005). The strategy specifically
enhances the rigour of the process of the critical analysis to address current of knowledge on
enhancing the cultural competency of new graduates (Whittemore Knaffle, 2005). DATA
REDUCTION Of the seven studies included in the review, there were two that employed
qualitative methods (Hart Mareno, 2014; Kokko, 2014). The chosen data collection methods were
found to be suitable to the designs of each study. Chircop et al., (2013) used a quantitative
research design which was deemed acceptable for obtaining measurable data regarding student
competence and knowledge acquisition. While the two mixed method designs (Alpers, Hanssen,
2014; Dunagan et al., 2013) were considered effective for exploration of self assessment for to
enhance cultural competency. Two other studies used quasi experimental research methods
(Mareno and Hart, 2014; Noble et al., 2014). The summary to the selection process are illustrated
in Appendix II. DATA DISPLAY To describe the pattern and relationships with in the primary data
sources, the extracted data are displayed in Appendix III In Caring for ethnic minority patients

Funny Thing Happened On The Way To The Forum Play Analysis
Theatre Performance Critique The World of the Play: A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the
Forum is the musical work of Stephen Sondheim. The musical was originally released in 1962 in
the form of a film. However, in the case of theatre performance, it was performed in recently in the
Music Theatre International. However, the play talks about the world during which slaveryused to
take place in the world. The play set during the period of the ancient Rome when slavery was a
common thing. The content of the play is inspired by the musical is inspired by the work of
Plautus, mainly Miles Gloriosus and Pseudolus. On February the twentieth, I decided to witness
the event of the play A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum , which was held in
California State University Los Angeles. The play has a number of major characters. The first
one is Pseudolus, who is a slave in Rome and is trying throughout the play to win his freedom. The

The director sets up scenery that resonates well with the context of the play. The lighting also fits
with the play as it brings out the themes clearly. Also, the costumes used, helps to reflect the time

the play. Reviewer: The play has a positive impact on me. It helped me understand the meaning of
life, especially the importance of love and freedom. What I like most about the play is the
outstanding performance of the characters. Nonetheless, I did not like the lighting of the play in
some parts as it made it difficult to follow some scenes. I can recommend the play to students of

The Brain And Its Anatomy
Our brains have the enough power to make all of the many different parts of our body function
the way it should. It can make our body do involuntary actions that constantly keep us alive and
healthy, and we don t even realize all of the things that it is capable of. As Nicolaus Steno once
said, The brain, the masterpiece of creation, is almost unknown to us (web.stanford.edu, 2014). The
brain and its anatomy were first studied by the Egyptians in 1700 B.C., and ever since then, its
immeasurable power has been continuously astonishing us with new and amazing discoveries of
previously unknown capabilities (faculty.washington.edu, 2014). The first person to dissect the

And, since this experiment is about how hand eye dominance affects the hand eye coordination
used when shooting a basketball, the occipital lobe is one of the most important parts of the brain
in regards to this experiment.
Everyone knows that the typical human being has a dominant hand. The only case in which a
person does not have a dominant hand is if that person can use their right and left hand equally
well. In this case this person is ambidextrous. But, the typical human also has a dominant foot, ear,
side of the brain, and eye. (web.stanford.edu, 2014) Eye dominance, or eyedness, is the tendency to
prefer visual input from one eye to the other. This is similar to left or right handedness. For people
who have anisometropic myopia, a different amount of nearsightedness in each eye, the eye with
more myopia or nearsightedness is the dominant eye (web.stanford.edu, 2014). The easiest way
to test your eyedness is to create a small triangle with your hands, with your thumbs as the base
of the triangle and your left hand s fingers overlapping your right hand s fingers , and center it
around an object, such as a doorknob, about 5 10 feet away with both eyes open. Then, close
your left eye. If you can still see the object with your right eye opened, then your right eye is
your dominant eye. If the object moves out of your view, then close your right eye. You will most
likely see the object with your left eye, in which case your dominant eye is your left eye

finding new energy sources with little impact on the environment. Ferrell, Fraderich, and Ferrell,
explain in their Business Ethics textbook in 2012 that after several environmental tragedies in the
mid to late 2000 s, the company had to reassess their ethical standards and make changes to repair
their image and regain the confidence of their stakeholders. During this time, they began investing
in wind, solar, biofuels, and many other new types of energy sources. They also created programs to
educate citizens and stakeholders about environmental awareness. Most importantly, though, they
also tasked their ethicsand compliance team with creating a code of conduct policy and
communicate it out to every employee (p.343 345). Considering that BP is a worldwide
company, with employees of diverse languages and cultures, this was a very difficult task to
complete. Not only would it be a challenge to communicate the new code of conduct out to each
employee, but it was even more difficult for the company to enforce it. Because of the lack of
understanding on how to deal with ethical dilemmas, managers and employees within the
company did not complete proper risk assessment, leading to the worst oil spill in U.S. History.
This would come to be known as the Deepwater Horizon spill. BP commonly outsources
machinery and companies to complete certain tasks. They did in this case by hiring an oil rig

How useful are models of self confidence in deepening our understanding of sporting
performance? Confidence has been outlined as an important and essential mental skill in sporting
performance by both athletes and coaches according to Vealey and Chase, 2008. There is a
general consensus of support by the literature for a positive relationship between confidence and
performance (Moritz, Feltz, Fahrbach, Mack, 2000 cited by Machida, Ward and Vealey, 2012). In
developing an understanding of these models of confidence and efficacy it has become a primary
target to increase the confidence of athletes at specific psychological interventions (Hanton Jones,

INTRODUCTION
India is an agriculture based country since ancient time which is considered as the backbone of
our economy and the agrarian sector contributes substantially to the GDP of India. Around seventy
per cent of the Indian population and more than fifty per cent of the total work force still depends
on agriculture and allied areas for live hood, agriculture meets the basic needs of India s growing
population. Today, agriculture has achieved commercial importance and changed from subsistence
farming to commercial farming, import oriented to export oriented sector, supply driven
technology to demand driven technology etc. New inputs and new technologies are hitting market
every day. In the developed countries, agribusiness is defined as the total output arising from farm
production and product processing at both pre and post farm gate levels. In developing countries
like India, agribusiness is a generic term that refers to the various businesses involved in food
production, including farming and contract farming, seed supply, agrichemicals, farm machinery,
wholesale and distribution, processing, marketing, and retail sales. Agribusiness is widely used
simply as a convenient portmanteau of agriculture and business, referring to the range of activities

Human Trafficking Is A Sinful Deed
Introduction
Human trafficking is a sinful deed, whereby the trade of humans takes place. The trafficker
mostly aims at availing the human services for illegal purposes against their will. The services
aimed by the dealer are forced as mentioned earlier and mainly include forced sex slave, forced
labor, or prostitution for the sake of earning money using humans completely out of moral bounds.
The kinds of acts included in the human trafficking may be the one of providing a spouse in case of
forced marriage or even the physical withdrawing of tissues. It is sad, but true that there exist no
bound to the human trafficking as it may occur nationally or internationally. It is indeed a criminal
offense because it results in a breach of human rights and involves the misuse of their body. There
exists no condition pertinent to the movement concerning the human trafficking as it may occur at
the residence of the forced personnel (Kempadoo, et. al, 2015).
Human smuggling is similar to human trafficking regarding profitability and their completion
demand the involvement of a criminal network. The difference is that the human smuggling is an
illegal movement of human across the countries, whereas the human trafficking may result in legal
or illegal movement. The major difference is that the human trafficking is the crime against an
individual, whereas the human smuggling is the crime against the state. Apart of similarities and
differences, these two are treated and cured separately.

Texting And Its Effects On Society
Texting is causing Illiteracy in society Did you know the human race became illiterate the moment
they started communicating by causing bad spellers, poor word structure and critical thinking and
comprehension level? Illiteracy is the lack of ability to read and write. In 3200 BC the Egyptian
Hieroglyphics was the longest communication towards one another. As time went on writing
became shorter than earlier years, causing the hieroglyphics to be less effective. The human race is
constantly evolving around new ways to communicate faster and shorter. Although texting is
causing illiteracy in society it is conveniently to society. Social Media such as texting is the next
evolutionary step to making the human race more illiterate. Some teachers and instructors believe
its better for students to abbreviate text then not. The reason behind this is they believe students
have to be smart to know how to abbreviate their words. The students develop an understanding of
word basics and word structure. Teachers and instructors claim students who don t abbreviate text
have a harder time putting words together. Other people thinks texting isn t causing illiteracy in
society because they feel if you abbreviate your words you should still be able to remember how
to spell out the words. Some just feels that texting with abbreviated words is better than spelling
out the whole word because it takes less time. Society just feel texting isn t what s causing illiteracy.

Summary Of Does America Still Exists By Richard Rodriguez
Richard Rodriguez, in his article, Does America Still Exists? states that America is the nation of
united diversity. It is a country where everyone is welcomed and treated equally. He expresses his
confusion about the real definition of America when he talks about how the people in America are
into racism and differences despite the country being made up of immigrants. The author asserts
that America does exist, first by defining America, and by showing the inter connection between
people born from different regions of the world. The responsibility of the people is to stop being
racist and staying with the people of own origin only but reaching out and mixing with others as
one nation. Analysis: Richard Rodriguez in his essay, Does America Still Exists? asserts that all
citizens of America are Americans despite the difference in their origin. The author narrates the
story, using different examples of interconnection between the different origins of people in
America. He says, America was born Protestant and bred Puritan, and the notion of community we
share is derived from seventeenth century faith...we are gathered together but as individuals, with
separate pasts, distinct destinies. Our society is as paradoxical as a Puritan congregation: we stand
together alone (195). The author states that people from all backgrounds live in in the country as...

Net Neutrality Is The Principle Of Internet Service...
Net neutrality is the principle that Internet service providers should enable
access to all content and applications regardless of the source, and without favoring
or blocking certain products or webpages. Net neutrality is like the Equal Protection
Clause (5th Amendment) in that it is the idea that Internet service providers (ISPs)
and governments should treat all site data equally. In other words, no one should be
throttling speeds or blocking certain sites outright because of their content, author
or country of origin. The alternative is called a closed internet where companies
are allowed to restrict access to services and sites by exerting control over the
broadband...the pipe through which we get access to the Internet (Podhoretz
2010). Generally in a capitalist society, competition is seen as a positive motivator
because it creates an efficient marketplace. However, this system breaks down
when supply is artificially limited. Consumers expect to pay more for better
products, whether it is a high definition cameras or a custom pair of boots. The US
market is based on the theory that competition stimulates the economy and
generates the best products. The cable/internet market is unusual in this regard
because there is very little competition between ISPs (Podhoretz 2010). The main
reason for this is because market is saturated and the entry fees are incredibly high
(Brodkin 2014). The companies that have footholds in this market have

The Effects Of Children Beauty Contest On Its Contestants
The purpose of this paper is to assess the negative effects of children beauty contest on its
contestants. Although many people argue that there are some benefits of this contest such as
build up the confidence, self esteem, public speaking skills, tact, and poised it is also true that it
can result to negative psychological effects and interferes in child development worldwide. The
Toddlers and Tiaras, and Little Miss Perfect are popular reality TV shows that features young
girls the real hardship and obstacles from their mother s pressure or preparation for the pageant.
They are ages from 1 to 12 years old, with main goal of winning and get the tiara and money or
ribbon or teddy bears. Generally, the parents of these young girls believe and make decision that
the beauty pageant is okay. Pageants, particularly those designed for younger children, focus
primarily on appearance, attire, and perceived cuteness. Parents of these little girls train them,
plastering their natural beauty by using spray tanners, hair extensions and thick makeups. In
addition, some little girls lose their teeth as a natural process of growing up, so parents will add
fake teeth to replace the ones that have been lost. Therefore, the result is an unnatural appearance

The Effect Of Noble s Technique And Ta Training On Reducing Proposal: Effect of Two Different Exercises on Reducing IRD in DRA Research Question: What is the effect of Noble s Technique and TA training on reducing Abstract Background and Significance By the third trimester, 2 in 3 pregnant women develop diastasis rectus abdomen (DRA). Although the DRA onset is painless, it is associated with other complications including low back pain, pelvic dysfunction and altered abdominal strength. Despite the high prevalence of DRA, there is little research on conservative therapy treatments. Purpose This study aims to determine the effectiveness of two exercises, TA training and Noble s Technique, on reducing inter recti distance (IRD) in post partum women and to secondarily look at changes in pain. Methods ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Although the development of DRA is often painless,4 DRA is associated with other complications. DRA causes disruption in the abdominal wall, which may affect core stability, posture, trunk motions and low back pain.1,5 Because of the painless nature of a DRA,4 women s health PTs found most of their patients with DRA were referred with other diagnoses, the most being low back pain followed by floor dysfunction, pelvic pain, and urinary incontinence.2 One study found that women with DRA have higher chance of increased pelvic and abdominal pain compared to women without DRA.6 Another study looking at urogynecological patients found prevalence of DRA in 52% of those patients.7 Although this has not been determined to be a causal relationship, an association has been demonstrated between the presence of DRA and increased number of pelvic floor dysfunctions (including myofascial pelvic pain, incontinence and prolapse) compared to patients without DRA.7 In addition to having pain, subjects with IRD over 3.5 cm were less successful at performing pelvic tilt and trunk curls than subjects without DRA.8 DRA presence alters the line of force of the RA and this change in biomechanics results in reduced torque production ... • 4. The Culture And Society Of Thailand And Montana, Usa The Culture and Society of Thailand and Montana,USA I lived in Thailand for about 14 years before I moved to Montana, and the culture between the two are very different but there is some similarity. I was raised in Thailand by my mother and father, my father an Italian American from New Jersey and my mother a Thai who lived in Thailandher whole life. I grew up with two sisters and a couple of my cousins living with my family. In this paper I would be giving you my view of literacy from a cultural point of view, and the difference literacy from the two cultures I lived in. The culture and society in Thailand is very traditional conservative environment, where the youth respects the elders, people respect other s view, wearing appropriate clothes, and good kind manners to others. I lived in a city called Pattaya City. It s a very famous tourist destination where people all around the world come over to visit and spend their vacation. One of the biggest attractions for the city is the beach and the night life, so for being a famous tourist attraction that means it will be a multicultural environment where you get to meet people from all around the world. Thailand has been called the land of smile for many years because of the kindness of the Thai people and that s a big attraction for Thailand. Thai people are very kind and helpful, they would help you in about any situation you get into, but like in every society around the world there are always bad people involved in ... On the 1st January 1973, the United Kingdom joined the European communities, along with other European nations, and this embarked on the nations becoming the European Union. On the 23th June 2016, the European UnionReferendum Act 2015 took place questioning as to whether the United Kingdomshould leave the European Union, and thus, the people voted in agreement to leave. This triggered Article 50 of the Treaty on European Union, whereby Prime Minister Theresa May is to give liable notification to exit the European Union. This allows a two year open window to discuss a withdrawal agreement. The R (Miller) v Secretary of State for Exiting the European Union case discusses as to whether the Crown s notice is substantial to give notice of this leave. The legal issue presented before us asks if the Crown Court has the prerogative power to give notification under Article 50 to exit the European Union without notifying parliament. This foreseeing the risk of losing European Union statutory rights. The Crown agrees so, and this brings into question parliaments sovereignty, Britain s constitutional statutes and what can be perceived as a diminishing history of democracy. The defendant Secretary of State pinpoints that in the ECA 1972, 2015 Referendum Act or any other United Kingdom legislation passed by parliament states no terms which show that the ... • 6. Human Nature In Lord Of The Flies By William Golding And... Looking back through the history of humankind, there is an eminent pattern of primitive and truculent behaviour. William Golding and Joseph Conrad recognised this basic nature of humanity and portrayed it in their novels, Lord of the Flies and Heart of Darkness. The environmental and circumstantial influence on one s humannature is thought to have the greatest impact, as the isolation from civilisation manumits the evil inside. Human nature, according to the Oxford Dictionary, is the general psychological characteristics, feelings, and behavioural traits of humankind, regarded as shared by all humans. These novels exemplify the concept of this behaviour to show how the savage nature of a person is brought to light by the influence of... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... For the boys, the loss of clothing is seen as an adaptation to their environment, however, the placing of this transition at the beginning of the hunting, suggests the beginning of the savagery. Through this, we are reminded of humanity s capacity for evil and how man made moral systems are superficial. Piggy, is represented as the voice of reason, when he cleans his glasses it means that his line of logic and nature blur. His loss of sight, after having his glasses stolen represents the fall of reason. The change in Piggy s attitude, due to the loss of sight, represents the shift of power from the reign of reason to the reign of savagery. It is the boys descent from civilisation into savagery that highlights that it is the eyes of civilization that keeps humanity s darkness in check, but when we are surrounded by the silent whisper of the wilderness, we lose ourselves to the darkness. Joseph Conrad, in Heart of Darkness, explores the concept that all behaviour and choices and the need and desire of the individual lie at the very core of their human nature. Civilisation is a construct that is designed to serve as a means of control of this core. Marlow, whose thoughts and attitudes shape the reader s perception of the story, has a revelation ... The tone of the sonnet is one of contemplation, or even uncertainty, as the speaker outlines his thoughts in reluctance, questioning both himself and his audience. Befitting of the overall tone, the sonnet commences with uncertainty, plainly illustrated with the language of the speaker s initial statement: I m not sure how to hold my face when I dance (1), for he arranges his words to portray a feeling of vacillation. Immediately following this reflective proclamation, the speaker poses three questions, all of which allude to the contemplative tone apparent in the text. While these inquiries regard the subject of dance, the speaker also intends for them to be metaphors for the uncertainty he, as a black man, has for his place in society. His questions are rapid fire, almost probing the audience for answers that are seemingly nonexistent. As a result of the rapidity, there is an absence of breaks for these questions to be answered, evincing the speaker s belief that they, in fact, have no answers. These first four sentences are crucial in the sonnet s development, as they kindle ruminations for both the speaker and the audience. Promptly thereafter, the narrator compares his own hesitant nature to the eminent musician Jimi Hendrix, and how, I hear Jimi Hendrix /Was also unsure in dance despite being beautiful /And especially attuned (5 7). Similar to the preceding lines, reluctance cloaks the prose like a veil. Note how the line begins with I hear... The narrator uses this as a prelude to the claim to emanate a feeling of uncertainty. Moreover, in his dubiety, the speaker appears to treat the comparison as almost frivolous and trivial; ergo, the connection itself upholds the poem s hesitant tone. Regardless, this remark can also be interpreted as an analogy for society. Hendrix, despite his unequivocal beauty, had difficulty discerning his ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 8. Mental Health Act Analysis The first piece of legislation which supported individual with mental health was the Mad House Act (1774). This piece of legislation was ineffective as it resulted in negative outcomes for individuals with mental and physical disabilities, as they were treated in an undignified way in cramped and unsubstantial conditions being viewed by the public for a penny. However, the Lunacy Act (1845 1930) was a more positive outcome, making it a legal requirement for county owned asylum to be inspected and had to have licenses for best practice and to promote the rights of the patients within and outside the facility, although, this was not the case in some facilities where failure and low morale caused negative impacts to the patients treatments (Lester, 2010). Furthermore, in the 1900 s the Mental Deficiency Health Act came into implementation in (1913 1938) where children and vulnerable adults would have been placed institutional settings, until the amendment to the Mental Health Act (1959). This act abolished the categories of legal distinction of mental health and prevented those who did not need to go for example, a mother who is unwed and had repeated amount of children as they were seen to be defective (Pilgrim, D, 2014). • 9. Advantages Of African American Freedom Freedom is the power to determine action without restraint, and it is the foundation of our lives today. Every race has the freedom to vote, go to whichever school they choose, take place in office, sit in any sector of the bus, etc. Around the 1860 s, Northern African Americans had freedom, but unlike today, their freedom was restricted. In 1850, before the beginning of the civil war, the population census concluded that fourteen percent of the population was African American. By 1860, 476,000 of them were free from slavery, but only 221,000 lived in the North. After winning the Revolutionary war the Northern states gradually began to end slavery and it was officially abolished in 1842. With all factors in mind, the question of just how free blacks were in the North still lingers in the air. Blacks in the North were only somewhat free in the years just before the civil war because they endured restrictions in social, political, and educational areas of society. To begin with, northern blacks were only somewhat free because they still had to encounter segregation, discrimination, and prejudice in their social freedom. Although they were free to live, they had to use restrooms, public areas, schools, etc. that were specifically assigned to their race. An English Visitor, Charles Mackay, defined his travels by stating, he shall not be free to dine and drink at our board...to attend us at the bed of sickness and pain to mingle with us in the concert room, the lecture room, the theatre, or the church, (document B). African Americans were not given the opportunity to associate with anyone of the white race, nor were they allowed to be in the same location as them. Since the white race was considered the superior race , and were heavily discriminant towards the black race, their segregated public facilities were a lot nicer than those of african americans. Also, prejudice made it harder for black people to attain jobs. In a graduation speech made by an african american, he proclaimed white boys won t work with me. Shall I be a merchant? No one will have me in his office (document C). Because of their race, african americans struggled to get employed. In society, northern blacks had to suffer through ... • 10. Difference Between Liberal And Difference Feminism King, 1 Sheridan Louise King Midterm POL192b: Legal Theory 1. What is the difference between liberal and difference feminism? In order to differentiate liberal feminism from difference feminism, it is important to clarify on the outset the exact definition of each term. According to Martha Fineman (2005), feminism can be defined as a gender based theory focusing on challenging the assertions and assumption revolving gender neutrality. Specifically, feminism deals with the assumptions and values based on gender that generate gender and societal inequalities. In this context, therefore, liberal feminism can be defined as the idea that emphasizes women s likeliness with men, and thus, deals both with banning treatment that fosters gender bias and also establishing laws and regulations that cater to equal opportunities for both men and women (Fineman, 2005). Conversely, difference feminism holds the idea of different treatment, in which equal treatment is not seen as sufficient (Fineman, 2005). With these clarifications, therefore, it is clear that liberal feminism and difference feminism contrast due to their conflicting ideas in gender treatment. Primarily, liberal feminism outlaws any and all bias behavior discriminating against gender types, whereas difference feminism resorts to the idea that the difference of gender essentially calls for different treatment, hence men and women should be treated differently (Fineman, 2005). The difference in these two ideas, thus, lies ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Within the last few decades new information has emerged that reinforces the much larger view of a more prominent impact by the Vikings within Scottish history. This evidence points to a longer period of Viking influence in the areas of linguistics, town names, festivals, advanced metallurgy, and communal settlements. Though the history of Viking interaction with the people of Scotlanddid not begin in any specific year, the violent raids on Iona and Portmahomack brought their presence into focus for the Picts inhabiting the area. At some point they will need to realize that hard work will take them much further than talent ever could taking them. When an athlete trains during the off season by lifting weights it helps him or her become physically ready for the season ahead. Without pre training, showing up on the day of tryouts and hoping to be great and being able to do well is a horrible idea. Lifting weights strengthens bones and tendons. It helps increase muscle volume and muscle conditioning. It allows an athlete to perform with a higher level of strength and speed. Physically, athletes whom weight train and are in good condition will also be able to recover faster if and when an injury occurs. I see this in our setting and it is a proven fact (Asing Interview). If an athlete sustains an injury, the goal is to strengthen their injured part and also their overall body. This is why weight trainingis such an important subject for all sports from the court to the field or even water sports. Even though someone may have surgery on one arm he or she can still work out on the other arm and it benefits him or her by having a faster and quicker recovery. Lifting just strengthens those muscles that were injured so it will make them stronger for the next time they are used. With an injury lifting can help the rehab by strengthening what is needed. For example, if an athlete tears the anterior cruciate ligament, ACL, then strengthening the muscles around the knee such as the quadriceps and hamstrings will help the knee stabilize both before and after surgery, if needed. Lifting despite an injury can also lead to mental strength because athletes who get injured usually go into some depression because they cannot participate in what they love. The Song dynasty s society definitely had its differences to Tang, For instance, the prime minister of the Song dynasty might take a bath in the same public bath house as everyone else, which would be unthinkable in the Tang Dynasty , (Wang, 2003). This is quoted from a secondary source from a professor studying Chinese history and shows how different the societies were between the two. Men were still greatly superior to women in this period. In contrast with the Tang dynasty, women in this period despite it following the Tang dynasty, were not allowed into positions of great importance like government officials or be involved in politics and were just expected to stay at home and take care of the household. • 15. The Importance Of Discrimination In The Film Industry the main synonym neither to the discrimination in the industry nor the lack of female professionals. Discrimination is not only lack of representation of the gender, but in this case also representation of only a small pool of women specialists (Paydar 5). The same female actors, directors, producers, writers, etc. are hired repeatedly, mostly those connected to the males at the top of the hierarchical ladder or having had experience and success with the same studio before (John 432 437). Existence of female professionals and hiring of a female for a project does not indicate the overcoming of systemic barriers. The question is not only in the number or percentage of women involved in the production, but about diversity and equal opportunities. Another component of initial hiring practices in filmstudios is correlation with law and associations requirements. Diversity requirement that is standard for the industry usually poses a quota that allows the employer to hire females or maleminorities. By providing a choice of hiring a male of color or a female, this provision allows studios to evade anti discriminationlaws (Paydar 8). Fighting all these exclusions based on sex and discrimination practices is possible mostly by individual court orders through several claims available to women within US laws (Bureau of National Affairs). In this case this person is ambidextrous. But, the typical human also has a dominant foot, ear, side of the brain, and eye. (web.stanford.edu, 2014) Eye dominance, or eyedness, is the tendency to prefer visual input from one eye to the other. This is similar to left or right handedness. For people who have anisometropic myopia, a different amount of nearsightedness in each eye, the eye with more myopia or nearsightedness is the dominant eye (web.stanford.edu, 2014). The easiest way to test your eyedness is to create a small triangle with your hands, with your thumbs as the base of the triangle and your left hand s fingers overlapping your right hand s fingers , and center it around an object, such as a doorknob, about 5 10 feet away with both eyes open. Then, close your left eye. If you can still see the object with your right eye opened, then your right eye is your dominant eye. If the object moves out of your view, then close your right eye. Ferrell, Fraderich, and Ferrell, explain in their Business Ethics textbook in 2012 that after several environmental tragedies in the mid to late 2000 s, the company had to reassess their ethical standards and make changes to repair their image and regain the confidence of their stakeholders. During this time, they began investing in wind, solar, biofuels, and many other new types of energy sources. They also created programs to educate citizens and stakeholders about environmental awareness. Most importantly, though, they also tasked their ethicsand compliance team with creating a code of conduct policy and communicate it out to every employee (p.343 345). Not only would it be a challenge to communicate the new code of conduct out to each employee, but it was even more difficult for the company to enforce it. Because of the lack of understanding on how to deal with ethical dilemmas, managers and employees within the company did not complete proper risk assessment, leading to the worst oil spill in U.S. History. This would come to be known as the Deepwater Horizon spill. BP commonly outsources machinery and companies to complete certain tasks. They did in this case by hiring an oil rig ... It is a country where everyone is welcomed and treated equally. He expresses his confusion about the real definition of America when he talks about how the people in America are into racism and differences despite the country being made up of immigrants. The author asserts that America does exist, first by defining America, and by showing the inter connection between people born from different regions of the world. The responsibility of the people is to stop being racist and staying with the people of own origin only but reaching out and mixing with others as one nation. Net neutrality is the principle that Internet service providers should enable access to all content and applications regardless of the source, and without favoring or blocking certain products or webpages. Net neutrality is like the Equal Protection Clause (5th Amendment) in that it is the idea that Internet service providers (ISPs) and governments should treat all site data equally. In other words, no one should be throttling speeds or blocking certain sites outright because of their content, author or country of origin. The alternative is called a closed internet where companies are allowed to restrict access to services and sites by exerting control over the broadband...the pipe through which we get access to the Internet (Podhoretz 2010). Generally in a capitalist society, competition is seen as a positive motivator because it creates an efficient marketplace. However, this system breaks down when supply is artificially limited. Consumers expect to pay more for better products, whether it is a high definition cameras or a custom pair of boots. The US market is based on the theory that competition stimulates the economy and generates the best products. The cable/internet market is unusual in this regard because there is very little competition between ISPs (Podhoretz 2010).
