My Personal Statement On My Children
As an adult with kids, I look back and I am grateful that my foster mom instilled in me a desire for
hard work and diligence through weekly chores. Of course, I did not feel this way while I was
cleaning the bathroom every Saturday, but as an adult, I understand the important lessons I was
learning by doing them. Someday, your kids will actually thank you for making them do chores!
Chores teach kids structure, hard work, and appreciation, and are important in creating a well rounded
child, student, and future adult. Proverbs 22:6 says, Train up a child in the way he should go; even
when he is old he will not depart from it. To train means to teach the skills needed to do something. I
feel all I do is train my kids, over and over again, and usually on the same things. Training my
children in how to do chores teaches them many things. It teaches them cause and effect; that I am not
their maid, and it is their job to clean up after themselves and it teaches obedience. This is important
as they reach school age and beyond, as they will be on their own in school and will need to learn to

evolution was considered somewhat of a dirty word. This being said, I knew that there were parts of
evolution that were undeniably true. I also thought that science usually pointed towards evidence of
there being a God. I was never really a Young Earth Creationist. However, I still thought that Young
Earth Creationists could be right because in my opinion, God is omnipotent, and the flood could have
happened further back in history than estimated. The flood then could answer why the continents look

learn about and document endangered languages in Bolivia, India, Arizona, and Siberia. Through their

death and they manage to make an impact on how these communities view their heritage language.
Focusing on the moribund languages of Siberia and Arizona, it becomes evident that speakers of the
heritage language feel a love for the language and the culture it represents, but went through periods
of oppression and embarrassment for being speakers of a minority language that ultimately shaped
their attitudes on the language. The film highlights the Chemehuevi language of a Native American
tribe in Arizona, where there is only one remaining speaker. The speaker is forced to repeat words to

brilliant. Hemingway has a way of structuring his stories as to not confuse the reader. Hemingway s
plot keeps the story moving at a quick pace, and makes the story read smoothly. A Clean, Well Lighted
Place is a short story that contains mostly of dialogue. It is hard to identify what it is about
Hemingway s plot that works so well. Barbra A. Archana states, The simple story line is so deftly

s story, the reader first sees an old deaf man sitting by himself in a café drinking away his troubles.
The story tells us that the old man had recently attempted to hang himself, but failed when his niece

story. The focus of the story is two waiters, differing in age. The two waiters spend the story trying to
predict the reasons that were contributing to the old man s depression. The story begins in a unique
way. It begins in such a way that there is no way the reader can predict the upcoming conflict. As the
plot moves forward the reader learns more about the old man. The reader, at first imagines a conflict is
about to arise between the drunken, old man and a couple of tired waiters, but the real conflict is much
more philosophical in nature. As the waiters discuss the old man s pitiable life, the reader becomes
aware of their opposing views of life. By the end of the story, the reader is no longer focusing on the
old man or the younger waiter but rather on the older waiter and the existential concepts he comes to

Replacing the Old Fashion Around the world new adults are flaunting their new found responsibilities
consuming alcohol at the average age of 18. However, unlike most countries in the world the United
States has determined to establish their drinking age to be set at 21 years of age. This antiquated
position is unjust to many young American adults. The National Minimum Drinking Age Act of 1984
should be revised and reconstituted to the legal age of 18. To provide a more suitable America that is
secure and reasonable for all young adults. The drinking age needs to be lowered so that it can reduce
traffic fatalities, reduce binge drinking, and allow young adults to understand an old ongoing tradition.
It s time to reconsider the drinking age to allow a safer environment for everyone. Drinking and
