Earths Water is Full of Sharks
TYPE OF SHARKS
It is believed that a species has many family or in other word, kind or tribe. As for shark, there are
many kinds or type of shark which has slightly distinguished the species. Researchers believed that
different kind of shark has different kind of characteristics and behaviours. There are so many species
of sharks in the oceans around the world. Some of them are big in size while others can be quite small
and some of them are to be feared while some others just minding their own business. It is surprised to
know that some of the largest species of sharks in the ocean are the nicest ones to encounter.
Great White Shark is the biggest of all the deadliest and dangerous sharks. It is also the most popular
shark among the people as it always appears in movies and documentaries. These kinds of sharks are
torpedo shaped, knife like tails and a pair of fins. There have been reports of the Great Whites
weighing in at over 7000 lbs and exceed 20 feet in length. Male and female great white sharks grow at
different rates as the males become adults in about nine years while the female great white sharks
grow larger than males and they took about 13 to 15 years to be adults. Actually the Great White
Shark has a white pearl colour on its belly and the top of its body is actually a gray or blue in colour
which makes it kind of difficult to see inside the water. With a darkish colour on the back of the shark,
it is hard for the other animals to spot them, which makes it

The Green Revolution
The world s worst recorded food disaster occurred in 1943 in British ruled India. Known as the Bengal
Famine, an estimated 4 million people died of hunger that year in eastern India (which included today
s Bangladesh). Initially, this catastrophe was attributed to an acute shortfall in food production in the
area. However, Indian economist Amartya Sen (recipient of the Nobel Prize for Economics, 1998) has
established that while food shortage was a contributor to the problem, a more potent factor was the
result of hysteria related to World War II, which made food supply a low priority for the British rulers.

The same was true for almost half of the wheat planted in Africa and more than half of that in Latin

farmers in the developing world were using Green Revolution seeds, with the greatest use found in

Wormwood, or Artemisia Maritima Essay
Wormwood, or Artemisia Maritima, is a low maintenance plant that is easy to grow. This plant is great
for beginning herbologists. In the wild, sea wormwood grows along the seashore in Europe and Asia.
Wormwood is a hardy plant that can tolerate drought, maritime exposures and temperatures as low as
15C. It has a sweet lavender like smell but is very bitter to the taste. It is easy to identify from a
distance by its silver gray colour. It is a flowering plant, growing close to two metres high. The leaves
are narrow, covered with silver velvety fur. It has small yellow oblong flowers, containing three to six
florets, in August and September. They are hermaphrodite and are pollinated by the wind. In the

In addition to treating the wizarding community for their ailments, I could use a wormwood potion to
help increase the appetite of cows as well as repel slugs, insects, and mice. Its fragrant branches can be
put into linen closets and mattresses to drive out moths and fleas, and in shoes to prevent tired feet.
I grow this plant in light sandy, medium loamy, salty soil that is well drained but moist with a pH of 6
to 7.6. I keep it in full sunlight. I sow the seeds from late winter to early summer in my greenhouse. I
must ensure that the compost does not dry out. When they are large enough to handle, I plant the
seedlings into individual pots. There can up to 50,000 seeds on each stem which are viable for three to
fours years! I keep them in the greenhouse during their first winter.
In the late spring to early summer of their next year, I plant them outside. The plants must be planted
two feet apart. I prune half of the ripe wood in July or August and divide the plants in the spring or the
fall. They regrow from ground level each spring. It is difficult to manage wormwood once it is
established, as it reduces biodiversity.
This plant is poisonous in large qualities and must be kept out of the reach of children and pets.
Ingesting small quantities may cause nervous disorders, convulsions and insomnia. The scent may
cause headaches in some sensitive people as well as allergies and asthma. This plant is

An Analysis Of Nevermind s Cover Art
Nevermind s cover art was one such political statement, a clear expression of disgust towards
capitalism. (Bickerdike, 2014)
Never mind the English idiom don t judge a book by its cover . As a consumerist society, we tend to
instinctively make assumptions based on initial appearance. Since the invention on the LP back in
1948, the recording industry adapted the concept of the cover art as to visually represent the artists and
music. Music albums across the world are sold inside universal sleeves branded with a particular
image allowing the work to be instantly recognisable amongst all others. The cover art of Nirvana s
1991 release Nevermind has prevailed to be one of the most recognizable album covers of all time.

Examples Of Hashing Techniques
A Survey of Hashing Techniques and its Applicability for Efficient Buffer Cache Management
Abstract: Hashing is the convenient way to get access to an item based on the given key which is the
requirement for efficient buffer cache management. Static hashing provides fastest access to an object
at the cost of memory utilization, whereas sequential storage provides most efficient memory
utilization at the cost of access time. To provide balance between two extremes dynamic hashing
schemes are produced. The focus of this paper is to survey various dynamic hashing schemes with
perspective to use it in database buffer cache management. It includes dynamic hashing techniques
like Extendible hashing, Expandable Hashing, Spiral Storage, Linear ... Show more content on

Hashing has been one of the most effective tools commonly used to compress data for fast access and
analysis, as well as information integrity verification. Hashing techniques have also evolved from
simple randomization approaches to advanced adaptive methods considering locality, structure, label
information, and data security, for effective hashing [19]. The traditional, static, hashing schemes,
requires data storage space to be allocated statically, because of this it did not work well in a dynamic
environment. This meant that as the database grows over time, we have three options:
1. Choose hash function based on current file size. Get performance degradation as file grows.
2. Choose hash function based on anticipated file size. Space is wasted initially.
3. Periodically re organize hash structure as file grows. Requires selecting new hash function, re
computing all addresses and generating new bucket assignments which are very costly.
Some hashing techniques allow the hash function to be modified dynamically to accommodate the
growth or shrinking of the database. These are called dynamic hashing. To eliminate these problems,
dynamic hashing structures have been proposed.
Dynamic means that records are inserted into and deleted from the set, causing the size of the set to
vary [17]. By dynamic we mean that the number of buckets can increase or decrease, according to the

Enabling Others To Act Research Paper
Enabling others to act is not about delegating tasks to them. Instead, it is about making them believe in
themselves, their capability and the goal is to inspire them to overcome their limits and find success.
Enabling others to act is not about people completing given tasks, it is more about making people feel
like they are a valuable component of the team and to engage them in discussions while helping them
develop their self confidence. When I think of enabling others to act, I think of the way my coaches
work with me. They trust me, and they let me figure out a task on my own so that I can discover
myself. My coaches encourage me, and through enabling me to act, they help me become a leader.

My struggle with suggesting ideas happens because I hesitate and worry about how the other person or
the group will feel about the notion. Many times, while working on a group project I come up with
ideas on how to improve my partner s part of the project but initially I struggle to suggest ideas as I
feel like my partner may thing that I don t trust them or am being dominating. Hence, it takes me time
to suggest ideas. Even when it comes to my dance teams and my workplace despite holding a

about the ideas as it can help us all improve. Further, I think I should also ask people for feedback

Two of the main causes of poor posture are muscle tightness and muscle weakness, therefore it is
important to design a stretching program to improve muscle length, as well as a resistance training
program to improve strength.
Prior to commencing exercise our patient is to complete a warm up consisting of low intensity
exercise (approximately 40% of heart rate max), for between 7 and 10 minutes, this is followed by a
series of dynamic stretching exercises aimed at preparing the muscles for physical activity, improving
range of motion, and improving proprioception. This dynamic exercise program consists of:

A Raisin In The Sun Assimilation Analysis
Lorraine Hansberry s 1959 play A Raisin in the Sun follows the story of the Younger family over a
time period of several weeks, in which great internal and external change quickly occurs for its
characters. Throughout the play, readers are able to see the arduous daily lives of the Younger family,
as created by the segregated, racist society in which they live. Though no longer slaves like their
ancestors, the African American family is still unable to claim the same level of success as the white
community without yielding aspects of their native culture. The accumulation of their struggles weigh
heavily on each of the characters and, as the play continues, readers can see characters begin to
acknowledge the restrictive social roles they have been placed into. Such confrontation likewise urges
the characters to search for meaning in who they are and what they stand for in the face of oppression
and segregation. The distinctions between the segregated white and black American communities of
the 1950s are placed at the fore front of the play, with the concept of assimilation taking on a large,
necessary role as a great opposing force. By bringing assimilation into focus, A Raisin in the Sun
manages to reveal the ____ through the play s characters and their beliefs, highlighting the specific
issues which hinder the Younger family on their journey towards a better life and in their search for
identity and belonging.

Introduction Information and data have become the cornerstone of business enterprises today.
Financial services organizations rely on important trade and market data, retail business rely on
consumer and market data, and military organizations are concerned with classified and national
security sensitive data. As these organizations continue spend more time, effort, and money into the
management of this data, data base management systems are gaining more attention in Information
Technology Enterprise. This paper will discuss the advantages of using an Object Database
Management System (ODBMS) as opposed to the older a less flexible Relational Based Data
Management Systems.
Overview of Object Oriented Database Management Systems
The 1990s saw the emergence of ODBMS as the dominant data modeling application software. It
began in the 1960s and continued during the 1980s as technologists were searching for a more flexible
and capable way of dealing with data that fundamentally changed the way applications were being
designed. Object technology depicted data in terms of classes instead of representing it in the strict
table format of relational databases. A class is defined as the structure and code provided by the
programmer. It includes a description of the type of data, how it is stored, and its code. However,

Persuasive Essay On Junk Food
Today, obesity is such a huge problem in America that the average revolving door had to be widened
from 10 feet to 15 feet. Americans nowadays cannot control themselves when it comes to fast food or
simply just junk food in general. Everywhere people look there are those giant, gold double arches on
the corner or there are those chips they have been craving all week at their checkout. With that being
said, who really is there to blame? Most might blame the food industries for the recent increase in
obesity. I believe just the opposite. Although the food industry may be a huge contributor to obesity in
America, the citizens are to blame for their poor choices.
It may appear that junk food is simply unavoidable with all of the overwhelming, tempting ads and
products everywhere, but having self control is key in controlling obesity rates. People are so quick to
pick up something that looks good without even knowing about the deceiving looks behind it. Food
companies like McDonald s advertise foods such as the quarter pounder with cheese and without a
doubt most people would buy it, but when they break it down to just an over salted slab of gray beef
with high fructose corn syrup and a cheese product, all of a sudden it becomes disgusting (Maiello).
Americans need to learn how to read between the lines, they have to know when they should have
certain foods and how much of that food is ok for them, so instead of buying those chips everyday at
school, Americans should be

The World s Largest Religion
Introduction
Christianity is the world s largest religion in number of adherents, accounting to more than 2.1 billion
(around 31.4% as of 2015) and geographical spread in almost every country in the world, there is at
least one Christian community (Green ,2015).
The former religion of the Romans was polytheism based and could not give comfort to the destitute.
The many Gods and Goddesses did not lend themselves to the idea of equality and salvation.
Christianity proclaimed the equality of all people. People were considered equal in Christianity and
the Christian God was the unquestioned authority. This God did not share a pantheon with others, he
was the one and only. The new religion rejected the existing social system of slavery, and thus gave
rise to hope of liberation from oppression of the most desperate people. The religion called for the
reconstruction of the world. It gave hope to slaves, hope for freedom to common people through a
simple and accessible way through the adoption of the doctrine of Christ (Adair, 2008, pp.18 19).
Initially, Christianity spread among the Jews of Palestine and the Mediterranean diaspora of the Jews.
But starting from the first decades, especially through the work of the Apostle Paul, it has acquired a
large number of followers among other nations (Adair, 2008, p.19).
The Character of God
According to the doctrine of Christianity, God is an original entity and a predecessor of the whole

Australian Identity
Australia is a young, modern country made up of a diverse and multicultural population, therefore, it s
difficult to say that it has a single national identity. This essay will examine what Australia s identity
may look like, specifically, through art.
Australia has only been here for little over 200 years whereas other countries have a lot of history with
solid identities. Australian art is an important factor that helps to create its identity because its artists
are passionate about the unique aspects and symbols of Australia and they incorporate them into their
works to really show what they think Australia is.

Ned Kelly is considered to be a folk hero and is remembered as one of Australia s most significant
people because he stood up to corrupt police officers, unfair laws and biased government. Kelly is
immortalized in Sidney Nolan s Ned Kelly collection of 27 paintings that re count his daring exploits
with the law. Nolan was sympathetic to this story as he, himself, was a fugitive from the law and,
using various Australian landscape scenes as a backdrop, transcended his own conflict onto the canvas
to make the series a success. Sidney Nolan, Glenrowan, 1946 Sidney Nolan, Ned Kelly, 1946
The land has a lot to do with Australia, the way that its identity may have developed might be through
its isolation and our slow understanding and respect for it. Landscape pieces by other artists at this
time depict the land in a much different light than Nolan. Lawson s The Drover s Wife has a woman

Preston s abstract landscape Flying Over The Shoalhaven River depicts the land to be an inviting and
welcoming place. Henry Lawson, The Drover s Wife, 1945 Margaret Preston, Flying Over The

Athena Vs Parthenon Essay
Varied beliefs, rituals, and mythology composed the ancient Greek religion which worshipped gods
and goddesses among which was Athena (Roman counterpart is Minerva), the goddess of wisdom,
warfare, and handicraft. She is the patron saint of the city of Athens, and various inventions in art and
literature were attributed to her. (List of Greek Mythological Figures, Wikipedia).
Athena Parthenos (Athena the Virgin) gave rise to the Parthenon which means house of the Parthenos
or the temple that housed the statue of Athena. (Cartwright, M. 2015)
Its counterpart is Pantheon which means a temple to all Roman gods. Similarities and differences

As a temple to Athena, the Parthenon was built between 447 and 438 BC. A fire and a Theodosius II

into a Christian church. However, the battle between the Turks and the Venetians in 1687, partially

which can infect both humans and animals. The parasite has a thick outer shell which is the main
feature of why it is so able to resist certain types of disinfection. This thick outer shell makes it
extremely resistant to chlorine disinfection in particular.

Symbolism In Big Two Hearted River By Hemingway
Ernest Hemingway became one of the most notorious writers in the 20th century, likely due to his
abnormal style of writing. Hemingway in his writing introduced the new concept of Iceberg Theory
which gives the story a implicit meaning made by the author that should be further inferred by the
reader. In order to achieve this style Hemingway throughout his works used objects and movements
by characters to symbolize emotion, actions and other deeper objects. Many of Hemingway s symbols
reoccur among different stories; one of his most recurring symbols is a train/tracks which is used in

The experience I had with this triad was valuable, both in terms of gaining confidence using a wide
array of counseling theories and in using various techniques. The triad consisted of Colleen Daeschner

presented realistic cases as clients as well. I have conducted mock therapy sessions on a one on one
basis prior to this experience, but I have never fully considered the theories that were present until this
session. Like other sessions, I collaborated with the client and identified areas of concern, as well as
ways to positively cope with the situation that the client brought to me. After analyzing the mock

we are the ones who are expected to take care of our younger sibling and are the ones who have to

Tye Sheridan might be the third actor to play Scott Summers aka Cyclops, but the X Men: Apocalypse
star is certainly happy with the opportunity to play the Marvel mutant. But how does Scott end up
joining the X Men? Sheridan reveals it has a lot to do with Cyclops brother Alex Summers aka Havok
(Lucas Till)! Sheridan recently spoke to Den of Geek, where he talked about taking on the role that
was originally played by Enchanted actor James Marsden. It s such an honor to play a younger version
of James Marsden and it s going to be hard to live up to what he created in the X Men universe,
Sheridan said before explaining that Apocalypse will explore the backstory of several characters. What

animals than with androids. Vint begins with explaining that the main theme of Dick s novel is what it
means to be human . Vint then proceeds to explain that androids are put in the position that animals

Anxiety By Kierkegaard Essay
Introduction The Concept of Anxiety is one of Kierkegaard s major works. It summarizes and
anticipates themes that are developed in his other works. Even though Kierkegaard s treasure on
anxiety is not a readable material, that shines though the book is that anxiety is linked to love in the
case of positively and also in the context of negative. A being in anxiety can close himself up within
himself, but in anxiety he can also become aware of himself in such a way that he sees the relationship
between himself and other human being. It is in this regard that anxiety, in Kafka s words, can become
an anxiety for the greatest as well as for the smallest , and also he added this with this word that, this

Early eightieth century BC records of legalised death penalty laws have been uncovered in the Code
of King Hammaurabi of Babylon, which codified the death penalty for 25 different crimes. Famous
philosophers Plato and Bentham have given their ethical viewpoints; from there assumptions can be
drawn on their views on capital punishment. The Catholic Church also has its Anti death penalty
position. Capital punishment has been a part of human communal society for centuries. Within these
three ethical viewpoints society can use them as scopes as to whether it should be acceptable in their
community. Contextual analysis is paramount to being able to apply these ethical thought methods to a

Their differences strike in their thought process and in what the rehabilitation would entail. In terms of
context Bentham is straight up against capital punishment that causes suffering and strongly opposes
it. He also spent more time on it then any of his rival or competing philosophers of his time. He
comments in his commentary According to Bentham, a punishment, like any other legal practice, must
be morally justified in terms of its conduciveness to the appropriate end. Bentham wanted laws that
augmented total happiness of the community as his theory on punishment is that they need to justified

orator (similar to a lawyer) would request that person stand trial in front of a court, rather than that
person going to be put to death they instead would be given a timoria or a trial of retribution similar to
getting rehabilitated or being put on parole. While some major offences of his time were still worth
capital punishment Plato stressed that if it is possible and there is a chance for rehabilitation then that
person deserves it. Comparing both philosophers both can be classed as anti capital punishment as

Management Approaches
Contemporary Theories of Management
Contingency Theory
Basically, contingency theory asserts that when managers make a decision, they must take into
account all aspects of the current situation and act on those aspects that are key to the situation at
hand. Basically, it s the approach that it depends. For example, the continuing effort to identify the
best leadership or management style might now conclude that the best style depends on the situation.
If one is leading troops in the Persian Gulf, an autocratic style is probably best (of course, many might
argue here, too). If one is leading a hospital or university, a more participative and facilitative
leadership style is probably best.

Essay On The Influence Of Independence On Early America
The Influence of Freedom and Independence on the Early American Authors. The conversation about
freedom has no discernable beginning, it seems it always was and possibly always will be. People are
discontent when someone or something is ruling over them. Whether it is African American slaves
being ruled by white masters, people being ruled by their societies, or people under the rule of their
government communities are discontent with the outcome. The main premise of freedom is
unchanged, it is by definition the opportunity given for the exercise of one s rights, powers, desires, or
the like. Even though freedom has stayed fundamentally the same, its application has changed over
time. The freedom for slaves may be the first instance to come ... Show more content on

In both Sojourner Truth s speech and Herman Melville s story Bartleby, the Schrivener society is
restraining them to the place previously allocated for them. Truth s argument is close to that of
abolitionists, but freedom is more than just freedom from slavery. Furthermore, she cannot be truly
free until she is released from the social prejudices associated with her gender that are restraining her.
If she does not stay in her assigned place she risks being expelled from society. Similar to Truth,
Bartleby is also given a place in society. He too is discontent with what society chose for him. He may
not be enslaved to a human master, but he is not completely free since society still dictates what he is
allowed to do with his life. As a result, Bartleby rebelled against societal norms and uses his
independence to diverge from what society s expectations even if it is detrimental to his health. If
others followed his example and they too threw off societies control on them their community may
have fallen apart, then the community could rebuild it stronger. The largest hold society has over the

Gene Modification Cons
A gene is a part of cell in a living thing that controls what their appearance and characteristic are.
Children obtain their genes from their parents. Therefore, their characteristic and appearance are gifts
from God. However, parents can modify their offspring s genes and decide their children s
characteristic and appearance beforehand. Consequently, this technology gets controversial.
Opponents of gene modification claim that modification leads to the idea that children are the product
which was built up by their parents (Sandel 6). On the contrary, proponents argue that this technology
makes our social divisions smaller by creating perfect offspring (Green 2). Most of the arguments
against gene modification are based on the idea of strong ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Opponents of gene modification claim that modification limits our freedom (Sandel 1). In this
argument, Sandel points out two reasons. One point is those modifiers, especially parents, manage
people s future (Sandel 1). For example, if people have been provided gene which expresses athlete
talents, they have no choice to be musicians. Second point is that gene modification decreases our
future options (Sandel 1). In term of thinking that human life as journey, there are numerous paths to
travel, but gene modification may close of a couple paths. However, gene modification does not
violate our freedom because people can choose their future by their own will and freedom arguments
rely on strong determinism. People s future will be shaped by their own will. Therefore, Resnik and
Vorhaus point out that exerting control over a child s genotype does not give one despotic control to
shape their future according to one s will (6) For example, if people have genes that enhance an athlete
s talents, but they want to be musician, why not to be musician? The choice depends on people s will
and does not mean someone modified to be tall cannot play the piano well. Therefore, gene
modification may not restrict any options for their future. Freedom argument assumes that strong
genetic determinism. However, this strong genetic determinism hardly occurs in nature. Therefore,
freedom arguments about gene

Feminism in Adrienne Rich s Poetry Essay
Adrienne Rich s poetry serves a prophetic function by articulating the history and ideals of the
feminist struggle. By recalling the ancient chthonic mysteries of blood and birth, by reconnecting
daughters with their mothers, by drawing parallels between women today and their historical
counterparts, and by envisioning the women of the future who will emerge from the feminist struggle,
her poetry celebrates women s strength and possibilities. Elaborating her vision, Rich brings a

( LSS, 213) This emphasis on making women s reality and values visible echoes the Puritan injunction
to externalize faith. Like the Puritans who became visible saints through spiritual preparation for the
day God called them, women name themselves by analyzing their experience and understanding the
meaning of their lives: And it means the most difficult thing of all: listening and watching in art and
literature, in the social sciences, in all the descriptions we are given of the world, for the silences, the

women. And in breaking those silences, naming our selves, uncovering the hidden, making ourselves

ourselves, and each other, seriously: meaning, to begin to take charge of our lives. ( LSS, 145) In

Preschoolers With Verbalization Sound And School Age...
Purpose: Preschoolers with verbalization sound disorders have clinically consequential impairments in
the engenderment of sound production of the ambient language. Although many of these produced
sound errors resolve after several years (with or sometimes without intervention), developmental
appropriate speech sound production is not always achieved. Some sound errors may continue into
adulthood. Concretely, (Preston, Hull, Edwards, 2013) intended to determine if preschool
verbalization error types (e.g., atypical sound errors and distortion errors), which may reflect different
levels of psycholinguistic processing, are indicative of school age phonological awareness and
verbalization sound outcomes. The purpose of the present study was to determine if the types of
preschool verbalization sound errors can signal school age outcomes for children with speech and

of school age verbalization sound production skills. Preston, Hull, Edwards (2013) hypothesized that
children who generate many distortion errors in preschool may be at risk for continuing verbalization
sound errors at school age.

A Concept Analysis On Compassion Fatigue
I. Background and Significance
II. Meaning in Published Works
III. Purpose
The purpose of conducting a concept analysis is to divide the components of a concept into separate
individual parts for evaluation and clarification. Analysis of the internal structure, defining aspects,
characteristics and interrelationships to the other components can be achieved by conducting a concept
analysis. The basic purpose is a process to discover the similarities and differences between concepts
(Walker Avant, 2005). The intent of the concept analysis on the subject of compassion fatigue is to
evaluate compassion fatigue in nursing and to determine the current conceptual use in efforts to clarify
the relevance to nurses. The aim is to identify how the concept is currently utilized and how it could
potentially be utilized in the future.
IV. Definitions and Defining Attributes
A. Compassion fatigue in nursing is defined as the resultant distress and physical experiences that
occur when continuously caring for others, usually in highly stressful situations (Sheppard, 2015).
Burnout and secondary traumatic stress disorder are terms identified in the literature as having
affiliations with compassion fatigue. Burnout is a physical and mental exhaustion that occurs as a
gradual result of working in hostile and demanding environments or under stress. Secondary traumatic
stress disorder is a traumatic reaction that occurs due to witnessing the suffering of others (Hinderer et

Palestinian Israeli Conflict from the Perspective of Palestinian Filmmaker The Palestinian movie
industry has significantly grown in the resent past despite the challenge they face with majority of the
movies coming from different sources of film production. There lack adequate equipments that are
used to produce the movies, and this poses a great challenge to the industry. Lack of funds to finance
the movie production, further, poses a greater challenge in the industry. The various Palestinian movie
production sites include the Authority of Palestinian, the different Diasporas in Palestinian and also

Below are pictures of the movie The Syrian Bride (Riklis, 2006).
Furthermore, some Palestinian films portray new sociologists and historians modern when contrasted
in various Palestinian movies. For example, the film The House portrays the Arabs as technicians and
portray the Israelites as violent and sadists. The movie shows the way Israeli used their superiority to
violently conquer Palestine. That was after being allowed a land to settle in Palestine. The Palestinian
movie of 1980 s is seen to have instances of violence which are similar with the ones found in the
movies of 1970 s. The aspects common in the movies in the two decades include financial and
political instability, the need to recognize and equip the filmmakers in the cultural sector. Israeli
Palestinian conflict is viewed in varied perspectives by both the filmmakers from the Arab countries
and also the entire entertainment industry. Using movies to represent various challenges and
differences provides insight, interpretations and also exposure to reality to the observers. That is a
major approach that the Arab movie makers and other filmmakers use in their attempts to solve the
conflict between Israeli and Palestine. Many filmmakers have produced films that focuses on the issue
between the two countries and that helps in understanding the concepts presented. For example,

The Electoral And Electoral College
Query 1)
The Electoral College was created in the beginning to make a buffer between the selection of a
President and the population. It was also created so that the smaller states received extra power as to
not be overpowered by the larger states. Currently, the Electoral College consists of 538 electors. The
number of members in the House of Representatives and Senate decides the numbers of votes that a
state receives. The District of Columbia however has three electors and has been looked at like a state
for the Electoral College under the 23rd Amendment ( U.S. Electoral College ). This system was first
created by the founding fathers through fear that a person could manipulate the public in order to
come to power. Therefore, a candidate running for presidency could win the run even if they do not
win the popular vote. However, I think that the Electoral College is out of date and should be changed.
This is because we, as a whole, are not fairly represented because we are only represented as a state,
and not as each individual. Throughout our course of history, there have been multiple times where a
candidate had received popular vote but not the electoral votes necessary. This was shown in the 2000
election where President George Bush and Al Gore were both candidates in this election run. Although
Al Gore could have been able to win the presidency because he had more popular votes, the electoral
votes for President Bush were higher, enabling him to win the presidency.

Death is Unpleasant, My Friend
The Litigator got what he wanted. A copper tinted key that appealed small in his palms, yet was as
heavy as a stone. While looking at an unmarked gravestone, another man bled eternally in the six foot
hole. Despite the man s dedication to not move his palm from the wound, most of the blood had flown
out of his body and into the soil. Taking a look at the man in the grave, the Litigator caressed the left
side of his stubble with the tip of his index finger. Drips of precipitation occasionally interrupted his
finger from stroking the hairs. It rained for six days; no sunshine was seen. Moonlight was all that
provided a visionary source in Portland. Once you enter, you will see why they are sixes and sevens.
The man in the grave commented. The Litigator let out a sudden guffaw and responded calmly with,
Your comments won t matter once you re down there forever. Alone. Six feet under. Where nobody
can here peep a word. he paused momentarily. Death is unpleasant my friend The man became fearful
after hearing this sad, yet true comment that his chest reacted with a small reflex, causing goose
bumps to form everywhere on his body. The Litigator reached for his black pistol in the back pocket
of his jeans. He aimed the barrel at the man s forehead. Giving a slight force on the trigger, a bullet
gusted out of the gun and penetrated into the man s forehead. Blood quickly pooled from his head.
The Litigator was not interested in staying at the cemetery for too long, so he took

The Use Of Technology In Neil Postman s Brave New World
The invention of technology has made life easier but has it really helped? Neil Postman s writing
AMUSING OURSELVES TO DEATH from 1985 brings up the concern about the use of new
technology and how it s negatively affecting our society. Neil Postman s unique and very fitting title
AMUSING OURSELVES TO DEATH helps to portray what Postman tries to explain through this
writing. Postman also uses two authors Orwell who s the author of Nineteen Eighty Four and Huxley s
who is the author of Brave New World . The transition from the market of ideas to the market of
images that technology has made. Postman writing AMUSING OURSELVES TO DEATH conveys
valid points about technology and the affect it has on society but it s debatable whether technology is
good or bad. Postman s use of Orwell and Huxley to show that there can be a problem but two
different reasons to why that has become a problem. The problem being that Postman believes that
with the use of technology, we as a society will become useless. How does Orwell and Huxley fit into
this well What Orwell feared were those who would ban books. What Huxley feared was that there
would be no reason to ban a book, for there would be no one who wanted to read one (Postman 14).
Orwell believe that someone like a dictator that would take away or ability to think and learn and we
wouldn t have control over it. Huxley believes that we would lose our will to want to learn. As how
does this connect to Technology and

motorcycle riders to wear a helmet? 19!?

motorcycle rider fatalities
i. Less law requirement = less helmet wearing = more deaths

prevent deaths?
II. Lots of motorcycle riders vehemently oppose these laws
A. They are passionate and vocal. They turn out in large numbers and ride their bikes around
Washington DC and state capitols. They walk the halls of legislatures and knock on doors lobbying
against helmet restrictions.
B. But safety is not the point that motorcycle rights activist groups are arguing: its freedom a. The

Iconoclasm In The Byzantine Empire
When researching iconoclasm during the Byzantine Empire and today s Middle East, one can easily
see the end result of the two ages is similar the destruction of valuable religious artwork. However it is
important to analyze the reasons and intent behind the destruction. By doing this, a person can better
understand the motivation for the artwork s destruction and even determine if history should treat the
two eras differently.
With respect to the Byzantine era, the reason behind the destruction of icons was a theological debate
within the Christian religion. During this time, the creation of icons was believed to be divinely
inspired by God. Iconophiles, those that like and approve of icons, were devout Christian s who
prayed at an icon because of what it represented God. However Iconoclasts, those who work to
destroy icons, were also devout Christians. Iconoclasts feared that in praying before the icons
Christians were actually worshiping the icons. They were concerned that Iconophiles believed the
icons had the ability to perform miracles. In this way the use of icons became idol worship and was
against God s commandment and must be destroyed. In fact, when ... Show more content on

Essay on Philip Larkin
Philip Larkin A Voice of Pain for This Century
On August 9, 1922, the poet Philip Larkin was born in the town of Coventry in England (Thwaite,
Letters xvii). After graduating St. John s College in Oxford in 1943 with a First Class degree, he
worked at both the University College of Leicester and Queen s College at Belfast before finally
settling down at the University of Hull as Librarian in 1955 (Thwaite, Letters xviii). That same year,
with the publication of his collection The Less Decieved, he began to be recognized (Thwaite,
Introduction xv). His popularity continued to grow thereafter, and over the next twenty years amongst
many awards and honorary doctorates he published two more highly acclaimed books of poetry, The

As his writing progressed, the revelation of his anguish became more and more explicit while his
emptiness, brought on by the struggle to understand life, continued to deepen.
Larkin began writing poetry at an early age, with heavy influence from Keats, Auden, and, ultimately,
Yeats (1974 (Thwaite, Introduction xviii xix). In 1946, at the age of twenty three, he began to carry his
own voice and write poems that would thereafter strike his characteristic note (Thwaite, Introduction
xv). The 1946 poem And the Wave Sings Because It Is Moving is an early example of the simple
diction and brooding contemplation that came to characterize all of Larkin s great works. The poem
parallels humanity with the together, apart, together movement of waves, personifying the mortal need
to wish ourselves together, / Yet sue for solitude upon our meetings (l. 3,6 7). The human heart itself is
a wave, carrying Laments, tears, wreaths and rocks in a deluge of anxiety and sorrow (l. 14). Silver
tongued like a share, the heart wave ploughs up failure, / Carries the night and day and fetches / Profit
from sleep (l. 17 19). In the face of death, however, The wave falters and drowns ; for while the heart
takes tithes and Finds marrow to feed and frame us, it cannot invoke death (l. 20 22, 30). As a result,
Our hearts must Grow quiet in [death s] shadow, because There is nothing to grasp and Nothing to
adapt the skill of the heart to, which is a

Researchers believed that different kind of shark has different kind of characteristics and behaviours. There are so many species of sharks in the oceans around the world. It is surprised to know that some of the largest species of sharks in the ocean are the nicest ones to encounter. Great White Shark is the biggest of all the deadliest and dangerous sharks. It is also the most popular shark among the people as it always appears in movies and documentaries. These kinds of sharks are torpedo shaped, knife like tails and a pair of fins. There have been reports of the Great Whites weighing in at over 7000 lbs and exceed 20 feet in length. Male and female great white sharks grow at different rates as the males become adults in about nine years while the female great white sharks grow larger than males and they took about 13 to 15 years to be adults. Actually the Great White Shark has a white pearl colour on its belly and the top of its body is actually a gray or blue in colour which makes it kind of difficult to see inside the water. Known as the Bengal Famine, an estimated 4 million people died of hunger that year in eastern India (which included today s Bangladesh). Initially, this catastrophe was attributed to an acute shortfall in food production in the area. However, Indian economist Amartya Sen (recipient of the Nobel Prize for Economics, 1998) has established that while food shortage was a contributor to the problem, a more potent factor was the result of hysteria related to World War II, which made food supply a low priority for the British rulers. Examples Of Hashing Techniques A Survey of Hashing Techniques and its Applicability for Efficient Buffer Cache Management Abstract: Hashing is the convenient way to get access to an item based on the given key which is the requirement for efficient buffer cache management. Static hashing provides fastest access to an object at the cost of memory utilization, whereas sequential storage provides most efficient memory utilization at the cost of access time. To provide balance between two extremes dynamic hashing schemes are produced. The focus of this paper is to survey various dynamic hashing schemes with perspective to use it in database buffer cache management. Hashing has been one of the most effective tools commonly used to compress data for fast access and analysis, as well as information integrity verification. Hashing techniques have also evolved from simple randomization approaches to advanced adaptive methods considering locality, structure, label information, and data security, for effective hashing [19]. The traditional, static, hashing schemes, requires data storage space to be allocated statically, because of this it did not work well in a dynamic environment. This meant that as the database grows over time, we have three options: 1. Choose hash function based on current file size. Get performance degradation as file grows. 2. Choose hash function based on anticipated file size. Space is wasted initially. 3. Periodically re organize hash structure as file grows. Requires selecting new hash function, re computing all addresses and generating new bucket assignments which are very costly. Some hashing techniques allow the hash function to be modified dynamically to accommodate the growth or shrinking of the database. These are called dynamic hashing. To eliminate these problems, dynamic hashing structures have been proposed. Dynamic means that records are inserted into and deleted from the set, causing the size of the set to vary [17]. By dynamic we mean that the number of buckets can increase or decrease, according to the number of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

A Raisin In The Sun Assimilation Analysis Lorraine Hansberry s 1959 play A Raisin in the Sun follows the story of the Younger family over a time period of several weeks, in which great internal and external change quickly occurs for its characters. Throughout the play, readers are able to see the arduous daily lives of the Younger family, as created by the segregated, racist society in which they live. Though no longer slaves like their ancestors, the African American family is still unable to claim the same level of success as the white community without yielding aspects of their native culture. The accumulation of their struggles weigh heavily on each of the characters and, as the play continues, readers can see characters begin to acknowledge the restrictive social roles they have been placed into. Such confrontation likewise urges the characters to search for meaning in who they are and what they stand for in the face of oppression and segregation. The distinctions between the segregated white and black American communities of the 1950s are placed at the fore front of the play, with the concept of assimilation taking on a large, necessary role as a great opposing force. By bringing assimilation into focus, A Raisin in the Sun manages to reveal the ____ through the play s characters and their beliefs, highlighting the specific issues which hinder the Younger family on their journey towards a better life and in their search for identity and belonging. • 15. Persuasive Essay On Junk Food Today, obesity is such a huge problem in America that the average revolving door had to be widened from 10 feet to 15 feet. Americans nowadays cannot control themselves when it comes to fast food or simply just junk food in general. Everywhere people look there are those giant, gold double arches on the corner or there are those chips they have been craving all week at their checkout. With that being said, who really is there to blame? Most might blame the food industries for the recent increase in obesity. I believe just the opposite. Although the food industry may be a huge contributor to obesity in America, the citizens are to blame for their poor choices. It may appear that junk food is simply unavoidable with all of the overwhelming, tempting ads and products everywhere, but having self control is key in controlling obesity rates. People are so quick to pick up something that looks good without even knowing about the deceiving looks behind it. Food companies like McDonald s advertise foods such as the quarter pounder with cheese and without a doubt most people would buy it, but when they break it down to just an over salted slab of gray beef with high fructose corn syrup and a cheese product, all of a sudden it becomes disgusting (Maiello). Americans need to learn how to read between the lines, they have to know when they should have certain foods and how much of that food is ok for them, so instead of buying those chips everyday at school, Americans should be ... The former religion of the Romans was polytheism based and could not give comfort to the destitute. The many Gods and Goddesses did not lend themselves to the idea of equality and salvation. Christianity proclaimed the equality of all people. People were considered equal in Christianity and the Christian God was the unquestioned authority. This God did not share a pantheon with others, he was the one and only. The new religion rejected the existing social system of slavery, and thus gave rise to hope of liberation from oppression of the most desperate people. The religion called for the reconstruction of the world. It gave hope to slaves, hope for freedom to common people through a simple and accessible way through the adoption of the doctrine of Christ (Adair, 2008, pp.18 19). Initially, Christianity spread among the Jews of Palestine and the Mediterranean diaspora of the Jews. But starting from the first decades, especially through the work of the Apostle Paul, it has acquired a large number of followers among other nations (Adair, 2008, p.19). Consequently, this technology gets controversial. One point is those modifiers, especially parents, manage people s future (Sandel 1). In term of thinking that human life as journey, there are numerous paths to travel, but gene modification may close of a couple paths. However, gene modification does not violate our freedom because people can choose their future by their own will and freedom arguments rely on strong determinism. The choice depends on people s will and does not mean someone modified to be tall cannot play the piano well. Therefore, gene modification may not restrict any options for their future. Some sound errors may continue into adulthood. Concretely, (Preston, Hull, Edwards, 2013) intended to determine if preschool verbalization error types (e.g., atypical sound errors and distortion errors), which may reflect different levels of psycholinguistic processing, are indicative of school age phonological awareness and verbalization sound outcomes. It s just people. He argues that police in his city are not biased against Black residents, but rather that the majority of crimes happen in neighborhoods that are overwhelmingly African American. What evidence is presented in the episode to counter Chief Flynn s perspective? The point that Ed Flynn intends to convey here is that the high number of cases registered against black people is not something that must be evaluated through racial a perspective, as a matter of fact, the majority number of crimes happen in areas that have a ... Another important thing learned from the documentary film that I would like to outline here is that for the first time a documentary based on drugs, crime and law enforcement actually places its plot and central idea on the ways in which law enforcement agencies develop their work approach, perceptions and actions that they take against people involved in drugs and the overall decision making process that accounts for their action. Furthermore, the documentary film also very clearly and effectively highlights the different psychological dimensions that influence the ways in which cops and people in the Special Forces take their decisions when it comes to differentiating people on the basis of their color and hence resulting in sometimes regrettable ... • 43. The Electoral And Electoral College Query 1) The Electoral College was created in the beginning to make a buffer between the selection of a President and the population. It was also created so that the smaller states received extra power as to not be overpowered by the larger states. Currently, the Electoral College consists of 538 electors. The number of members in the House of Representatives and Senate decides the numbers of votes that a state receives. The District of Columbia however has three electors and has been looked at like a state for the Electoral College under the 23rd Amendment ( U.S. Electoral College ). This system was first created by the founding fathers through fear that a person could manipulate the public in order to come to power. Therefore, a candidate running for presidency could win the run even if they do not win the popular vote. However, I think that the Electoral College is out of date and should be changed. This is because we, as a whole, are not fairly represented because we are only represented as a state, and not as each individual. Throughout our course of history, there have been multiple times where a candidate had received popular vote but not the electoral votes necessary. This was shown in the 2000 election where President George Bush and Al Gore were both candidates in this election run. Although Al Gore could have been able to win the presidency because he had more popular votes, the electoral votes for President Bush were higher, enabling him to win the presidency. ... While looking at an unmarked gravestone, another man bled eternally in the six foot hole. Despite the man s dedication to not move his palm from the wound, most of the blood had flown out of his body and into the soil. Taking a look at the man in the grave, the Litigator caressed the left side of his stubble with the tip of his index finger. Drips of precipitation occasionally interrupted his finger from stroking the hairs. It rained for six days; no sunshine was seen. Moonlight was all that provided a visionary source in Portland. Once you enter, you will see why they are sixes and sevens. The man in the grave commented. The Litigator let out a sudden guffaw and responded calmly with, Your comments won t matter once you re down there forever. Alone. Six feet under. Where nobody can here peep a word. he paused momentarily. Death is unpleasant my friend The man became fearful after hearing this sad, yet true comment that his chest reacted with a small reflex, causing goose bumps to form everywhere on his body. The Litigator reached for his black pistol in the back pocket of his jeans. He aimed the barrel at the man s forehead. After graduating St. John s College in Oxford in 1943 with a First Class degree, he worked at both the University College of Leicester and Queen s College at Belfast before finally settling down at the University of Hull as Librarian in 1955 (Thwaite, Letters xviii). As his writing progressed, the revelation of his anguish became more and more explicit while his emptiness, brought on by the struggle to understand life, continued to deepen. Larkin began writing poetry at an early age, with heavy influence from Keats, Auden, and, ultimately, Yeats (1974 (Thwaite, Introduction xviii xix). In 1946, at the age of twenty three, he began to carry his own voice and write poems that would thereafter strike his characteristic note (Thwaite, Introduction xv). The 1946 poem And the Wave Sings Because It Is Moving is an early example of the simple diction and brooding contemplation that came to characterize all of Larkin s great works. The poem parallels humanity with the together, apart, together movement of waves, personifying the mortal need to wish ourselves together, / Yet sue for solitude upon our meetings (l. 3,6 7). The human heart itself is a wave, carrying Laments, tears, wreaths and rocks in a deluge of anxiety and sorrow (l. 14). Silver tongued like a share, the heart wave ploughs up failure, / Carries the night and day and fetches / Profit from sleep (l. 17 19). In the face of death, however, The wave falters and drowns ; for while the heart takes tithes and Finds marrow to feed and frame us, it cannot invoke death (l. 20 22, 30).
