2. Analysis Of The Book Century Of Enslavement Essay
U. S. MONETARY POLICY Where do we come from? How did we get here? These are questions
each one of us eventually asks ourselves and, in so doing, searches for the answers. It is intrinsically
woven into us to know the basis of what sustains us. Why is it then, that the general public is satisfied
in knowing only about current celebrity gossip and is content to remain ignorant when it comes to
where our currency originates and how it is produced? Some may find it too confusing and
overwhelming a subject about which to think. Is it possible that its perplexity is not by mistake? James
Corbett mentions in his documentary, Century of Enslavement: The History of The Federal Reserve,
Our monetary ignorance is artificial, a smokescreen that has been erected on purpose and perpetuated
with the help of complicated systems and insufferable economic jargon. (Corbett, J., 2014, July

relied on fractional reserve banking. This is the method in which only a fraction of a bank s deposits
are actually backed by a reserve of cash on hand, available for immediate withdrawal. This procedure
allows the bank more capital to lend and at the same time, grows the economy. The reserve amounts
are determined by a ratio stipulated by the Federal Reserve. In theory, fractional reserve banking
works most of the time. However, in difficult economic times, people have demanded to withdraw

3. Power Of Music In The 1960s
Music not only functions as a mean of recreation and pleasure. In fact, music has the capacity to unite
people and make change happen. All throughout history, music s compelling rhythms and melodies
accompanied with meaningful lyrics have been the backbone of many social movements. The power
of music has been long recognized, Plato in his Republic described it as Any musical innovation is full
of danger to the whole state, and ought to be prohibited. When modes of music change, the
fundamental laws of the state always change with them . Plato understood the potential danger of a
rebellion inspired by music and therefore, banned it altogether from his state.

5. Kasushika Hokusai Analysis
Term Essay #1
Katsushika Hokusai is a Japanese artist that likes to stretch your imagination, in both artworks it s
almost as he s indulging into these wild fantasies. As if he s trying to tell a crazy adventure from his
point of view. I particularly enjoy these artworks because it displays the courage in obstacles to face
much greater than himself, or in this case nature. Katsushika Hokusai creates a sense as if we were all
children again, with an imagination where we can hear, play and see natural environments from a new
perspective.
My choices on non western art I selected were both pieces by Katsushika Hokusai. The first called
Kanagawa Oki Nami Ura from 36 Views of Fuji made in the 18th 19th century. My second piece
called Kiso, Amida From Waterfall Series made in the 18th 19th century. In comparison to Katsushika
Hokusai two artworks both are woodblock prints, we see many characteristics that relate to each other
in a natural environment because Katsushika Hokusai was one of the first artist to introduce landscape
in his prints. Both pieces have mountains within the pictures, which is a major landmark in Japanese
natural landscapes. They both have strong repeating patterns that create a sense of rhythm that helps
organize the viewer s eye. Both artworks have these elements in their painting that gives you a sense
of rhythm and harmony. Both artworks provide so much contrast, the hard impact of blues set against
the soft sky and the starling white waterfall.

6. Max Weber s Theory Of Bureaucracy
Since its early translations, Essay s in Sociology (1948), Max Weber s theory of bureaucracy has been
used as a platform to study and understand the structures of an organisation, in service sectors.
However, many societies have undergone significant change since the development of the theory, with
the improvement of technology and globalisation, many view the bureaucratic model to no longer
have relevance in contemporary organisational structure in the 21st century. The notion that a
bureaucratic system can no longer be applicable to modern organisations is highly questionable, as
many suggest bureaucracy will continue to be a fundamental part of any organisation, but, the
application and implementation will adapt differently across the diverse range of organisations, even
coexist with contemporary theories, such as post bureaucracy.
It was clear to Weber (1948) that historically there have been great empires from Ancient Egypt to the
Roman Catholic Church and to China, to have encompassed bureaucratic system of sort in order to
develop and achieve their respective organisations. It further transcends to modern Europe and to large
modern capitalist enterprise (Weber, 1948, p.204). However, rapid technological advancement, and a
globalised and diversified world, has seen the transformation of industrial service society, to an
information service society. These changes have had significant impact on organisation structures
(Bolin Harenstam, 2008). It is perceived the key

My Personal Experience with the Product
I experienced my first taste of Miller Lite when I was an undergraduate student in college. The first
time I ever purchased it was at a sports bar called O Rielys in Chicago. Miller Lite is a light lager style
beer that has a taste of graininess with hints of grain husk, sweetness, light toasted malt and a trace of
citrus and pine. Miller Lite is a crystal clear, light golden yellow color liquid. The aroma smells like
hoppy bread and it is served cold. I quickly grew partial to the brand because it was cost effective, it
didn t taste as watered down as other cost efficient beers did. I liked the marketing behind the brand,

I bought Miller Lite almost every weekend when I was in college and now that I am not working and I
am in graduate school, living on a tight budget again, I buy Miller Lite at least once when I go out on
the weekends. Miller Lite is not the brand I go to for a crafted, hearty beer, but it s what I go to when I
want to have an enjoyable, relaxing night with a few friends and when I m not looking to spend a lot
of money. A unique benefit that I appreciate that the brand offers me is the low price for quality beer.
Like stated before, although Miller Lite is not the beer I would go to if I was looking for a crafted
brew, it is the beer I go to that never fails to show me a good time for a low price. I have always
enjoyed their marketing campaigns and Super Bowl commercials, which is another feature I
appreciate. Along with delivering a good product, they make it fun and enjoyable for consumers, from
a marketing standpoint. I am a brand loyalist because Miller Lite provides me with a product that has
never let me down; I have never had a problem with the beverage. The product has never let me down
because it continually has good deals and promotions, it consistently tastes good, and I associate the
drink with the good times I have had in the past, which makes me want to continue experiencing those
good times and create new memories.

8. Ego Theory and Bundle Theory Essay
Intro to Philosophy
Ego Theory and Bundle Theory Derek Parfit s views on personal identity and the Ego and Bundle
Theory are all summarized in his article Divided Minds and the Nature of Persons . In his article,
Parfit explains the distinction between Ego theory and Bundle theory and provides several arguments
against Ego Theory. Although it proves to be very difficult to believe the Bundle Theory, Parfit s
critique is convincing and well thought out. In order to defend the Bundle Theory of personal identity
Parfit begins to describe it and differentiates it from Ego Theory. Parfit states that there are two
theories about what persons are or what a person s personal identity really is. According to Ego
Theory, each person has an ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Parfit asks if that copy is still you or has the real you actually died? He then asks; what if only 1% of
your cells were replaced? Many would say if only 1% were replaced, the person would still be you but
at what percentage of cells is the new being no longer you? Parfit argues that the question is irrelevant
and that these are not here two different possibilities, one of which must be true. These are merely two
different descriptions of the very same course of events. To further support the bundle theory, Parfit
references split brain cases. A split brain case is what happens when the corpus callosum connecting
the two hemispheres of the brain is severed to some degree in order to treat severe epilepsy. A person
with a split brain shows to have two separate streams of consciousness. Ego Theory would argue that
there are two separate egos but only one person. When separating ego from person does Ego Theory
still hold valid? Parfit and the Bundle Theory state that this is an example of a different awareness of
events occurring at the same time, not different egos. According to Parfit there is no person involved.
Parfit s distinction between Ego theory and Bundle Theory and his arguments against Ego theory are
convincing. He uses many example to help support his claim. Both his thought experiment and the
split brain cases support the idea of bundle theory and disprove the more common Ego

9. 1839 Photography
Since photography s invention in 1839, it has had an intimate relationship with land and nature, and a
favorite of photographers. Early photographers set a precedent for bringing the world up close to far
off lands and undiscovered wildlife and sated society s romantic appetite for the unknown. Their
photographs represented a window to the world and preserved picturesque scenes for everyone s
delight. It is here I explore the beginnings of photography s relationship for preservation and

These early paintings depicted the sublime elements of land and nature (Cantrill Oravec, 1996; Elliot,
2006; Sandweiss, 1991). Paintings of the Roman Empire exhibited landscapes with a foreground,
middle ground, and background similar to positions on a theatrical stage (i.e. upstage, middle stage
and down stage). The foreground typically contained a large tree or side of a cliff, called a coulisse.
The middle ground depicted a human or animal, sometimes a river or even a ruin to lead the viewer s
eye into the scene. The background contained the horizon framed by the objects of the foreground.
Key to these paintings was the harmonious coexistence of humans and all of Earth s inhabitants. Near
the end of medieval times, painters applied the rules of math and architecture to render the principles
of perspective to accurately represent depth and perspective with a true vanishing point. Renaissance
painters revered classical Greek ideals in their paintings, a practice that continues even today. In the
17th and 18th century, landscape was the backdrop to the larger biblical or mythical stories depicted in
paintings. Paintings also served as records of instrument and painters routinely were commissioned to
accompany British, Dutch, Italian, Portuguese and Spanish explorers as they colonized the western
world. With colonization, these paintings reinforced status as well as expansion of one s

All the while you tell yourself that it s okay because this is the last time. You re only going to do it
once more and then you ll quit. After all, it s always easier to quit tomorrow than it is today.
If you have a bad habit you know this scenario all too well. It seems like it ought to be easy. We all

You see, our habits aren t really controlled by our conscious mind. The powerful and compelling
emotions and cravings that drive us toward our bad behavior come from our subconscious mind. ...

cycle until you re write the subconscious mental scripts that are driving your destructive behavior.
Once that s done you can hardly keep your bad habit alive, even if you want to. Once your
subconscious mind has been convinced that you no longer have a particular habit you will no longer
feel those terrible, nearly irresistible, cravings and urges for your habit. Then it s just a matter of

would rather not embarrass yourself in front of all these beach goers. Surfing, however, isn t
complicated at all and can be accomplished in these simple steps. Firstly, you need to get the proper
equipment. You will, of course, need a surfboard. The fun board, as well as the foam board, is
recommended for beginners. They are easy to balance and turn on. After you have your board, you
need to get a leash. It is an essential equipment to have because it makes sure your board does not
float away. Surfboard wax is also important because it keeps you from slipping off your board, so
make sure to get it. Now that you have gathered all the materials, it is time to prepare yourself. To
prepare, you can do yoga. Yoga will help you gain upper body strength allowing you to paddle and
pop up on your board faster. Besides yoga, you also need to practice your balance. Spending some
time on a wakeboard or skateboard will help. After you practice this, you need to find your stance on
the surfboard. To do this, get a skateboard or a surfboard, and stand parallel to it. If you are using a

There are a great number of speculators turned traders. They purchase courses and attend seminars,
and they all maintain fantasies of becoming the next George Soros or the next oracle of Omaha,
Warren Buffett. While these dreams are important to have, they also become an impediment to traders
forming their own opinion and view of the markets. It also lays the foundation for reckless behavior
and inability to grind it out.
Although trading can be exciting and rewarding on a day to day basis, the truth is that it is not a sprint.
There are few times in a trader s history that he will make all of his profits on one trade. It takes
consistent effort over long periods of time, a marathon approach that will help traders even come close
to possibly replicating the great feats of Soros and Buffett.
With this fact in mind, it is no wonder that 95% of traders fail. Whether they fail on an individual
trade or blow their account out in six months, it all stems from a rush to action, a false sense of
urgency that if they miss this opportunity, it will be a long

off and had a lot of putative luxuries. One nice thing about being rich then, were the beautiful, elegant
houses and what went on inside them. A wealthy family... would have lived in a large house with at

poor, the wealthy had plenty of clothing, and often the women needed help getting dressed (Durham

facilitate everyday life. Computers become a necessity in a couple of jobs; keeping files, research,
reminders, etc. Multiple, effective applications of such technology can be set in place, however, that is
not what is being done. Parents are giving children such elaborate devices for absolutely the most
unreasonable intentions. Kids merely entertain themselves for far too long, which transforms into
isolation. Unknowingly growing separated from educational value, friends, and family. For future
generations only disaster emerges, but there is still a way that this can be retained from happening and
involvement of parental help is required. As technology grows, children s ability to learn shrinks.

After years of devoted prayer, Phil realized the religious lifestyle was not for him. During high school
he desperately searched for for school activities that would take him away from his 24/7 at home
religious lifestyle. He acted in plays, joined the choir , became the school sports announcer for the
school radio program. He played sports such as football, baseball, and track but most of all his savior
was basketball. Basketball saved Phil from having to go to church services every weekend due to long
basketball trips. He played only at the junior varsity level until his junior year where he grew four
inches to a large height of 6 5. He then began to really improve as a player. His coach loved his height

His fame to stardom began in the state championship game itself when he dunked the ball midway
through the game, doing something really none of the spectators have seen before, and winning MVP
of the playoffs. He then met with a man named Bill Fitch, who was the head coach of the University
of North Dakota, and talked to Phil following that game promising a spot on his team. He also got
offers from various schools for baseball, but basketball was where his heart was set. The only
downside of his all his immediate high school success was his relationship with his parents was never
the same again, especially his mother. As at the end of the school year Phil s mother had asked him a
important question about his faith and was let down. That summer my mother asked how my spiritual

my faith. This was a heartbreaking moment for her because both of my older brothers have strayed

25. Depression, Marital Distatisfaction, And Marital...
There have been many studies done which found a correlation between depression, marital
satisfaction, and marital dissatisfaction. Depression is defined as a medical illness that causes feelings
of sadness, loss of interest, change in appetite, feelings of worthlessness, and many other symptoms
including thoughts of death and suicide. Many researchers measure depression using various methods
such as affective self reports. Depression is often seen amongst teenagers and some adults, but
depression affects many others persons within our social networks. This can be explained by the
socialization hypothesis established by Shakya (2015) which states that individuals influence one
another in a way that one individual s psychological issues, such as depression or happiness, will
spread to other social contacts, much like the spread of an infectious disease. Thus, depression can
negatively affect marital satisfaction. Marital satisfaction refers to whether the partners are content
with their marriage and is often measured through a combination of behavioral, affective, and
cognitive self report measures. If depression negatively affects marital satisfaction, then it will be
contributing to marital dissatisfaction. Marital dissatisfaction indicates the negative evaluation of a
person s marital affairs. It is also measured through a combination of behavioral, affective, and
cognitive self report measures. Research shows that there is correlation between marital dissatisfaction
and

26. Maritime Security Barriers
In the recent times, there have been several advancements in transportation. This has been occasioned
by the globalization trends. According to McNaught (2005), international maritime security is a matter
of critical concern in the global environment. Sea transport remains one of the largest and most
effective means of transport used between continents. This paper provides a critique of the article
Improving the security of containers in port related supply chains by Johan Scholliers, Antti Permala,
Sirra Toivonen, and Hannu Salmela.
The article has an implied research question that the authors intended to answer. The question is: what
are the technological options that can be used to enhance the integrity and security of containers in
port related supply chains? In this regard, the question is academically rigorous as it examines a
current issue in the global logistics and supply chains. According to Gunasekaran (2012), there is a
growing concern that terrorists can use containers to deliver weapons of mass destruction to various
destinations. Therefore, the authors focused on a study on possible ways to solve the problem.
Research Questions and Hypothesis
The article consists of implied hypotheses or assumptions that the authors relied upon to perform the
study. One of the hypotheses is that technologies such as biometrics and radio frequency identification
(RFID) can be used to provide effective container assessment. The second hypothesis is that

This week s reading is on the Cartridge and Firearms Identification. The measurement system used in
cartridges and firearms is not universal or has a systematic reasoning on how a caliber or gage is
determined, such as Europe and the United States has their own systems. But how ever there is NATO
standard for the military. First we discussed calibers and how they are determined. The imperial
system, by using fractions of an inch and designated as caliber, uses the interior bore diameter of the
firearm, this originated with smooth smooth bore arms. There are several ways to measure for the
caliber; by measuring the interior diameter of the bore, from land to land, grove to grove, measuring

Self contained metallic cartridges were first identified using a hyphenated system. Again there is no
set way to identify cartridges and was voluntary and not every manufacture chose to follow it.
Generally cartridges were hyphenated in two or three sets, such as .50=70, .45 70, and .30 40. The first
number designated the projectile caliber, then the propellant charge in grains of powder. If there was a
third number indicated it represented projectile weight in grams, such as .45 70 350. After the turn of
the century the use of the hyphenated system changed and represented and different meaning. The
U.S. Army switched their cartridge from the .30 40 Krag to the .30 03, representing .30 caliber and

examples of manufacture names. For user it would be Police, Government, and NATO. Some

The effects on temperature and ph of enzymes activity saliva amylase

Introduction
The enzymes inside the human body is a protein molecule which is a biological catalyst containing 3
types of characteristics. The first characteristic of an enzyme is to increase inside the human body
depending on the rate of reaction. Secondly most of the enzymes inside the human body will take
control and only act specifically upon one reactant, this is called the substrate, and this is the enzyme
that produces products. Third most important is the enzymes strongly regulate in a circle, from a low
concentration (activity) to a high concentration (activity) then back around vice versa. The enzymes
can strongly be affected in the changes of both the temperature and the different ph levels. Every
individual enzyme works to a certain extent reacting to a certain ph level and temperature, its activity
decreasing at values above and below that point due to denaturation. For enzymes, denaturation can be
defined as the loss of enough structure rendering the enzyme inactive. The tertiary structure of the
enzymes and their function also includes the non covalent force in creating and determining the shape
and the structure of all enzymes. The salivary amylase is found in the salivary glands inside the human
body which is produced by the ptyalin. Maltose and Isomaltose are a

Memo to Martha Stewart, CEO of Martha Stewart Omnimedia
Dear Ms. Stewart,
I am writing to address some concerns I have about the future of your company, Martha Stewart
Omnimedia (MSO). Perhaps the one issue that you are grappling with at present is about the Imclone
scandal. You have been accused of selling $227,000 worth of Imclone stock based on inside
information. Because of these charges of insider trading, your critics have summarily associated you
with other disgraced company directors: Kenneth Lay of Enron and Bernard Ebbers of WorldCom.
But the strange thing about your case is that while other CEOs have been charged for making use of
their own companies to gain profit for themselves, you, on the other hand, have not ... Show more

However, it is perhaps not entirely right to say that your actions, or what you have been accused of,
have nothing to do with MSO. Joan Didion, in her essay Everywoman.com, suggests how your
reputation is integral to MSO, and she quotes from MSO s 1999 prospectus: Our (MSO s) business
would be adversely affected if Martha Stewart s public image or reputation were to be tarnished (146).
Indeed, a New York Times article by Constance L. Hays, dated 1 May 2003, reports that MSO s total
revenue fell 14.6 percent in the first quarter and that the share price, battered after Ms. Stewart s name
surfaced in connection with the ImClone insider trading investigation last summer, fell another 11.3
percent. One could argue that MSO s poor performance is necessarily due to the difficult state of the
economy at present, but according to MSO s accounts, your company was in fact posting growing
revenue figures until you were implicated in the Imclone scandal. So as you can see, your public
image is closely intertwined with the survival and prosperity of MSO. Your actions do indeed affect
your stakeholders.

Life on Alcatraz Prison was not as bad as the people described it to be. For the prisoners Living on
Alcatraz was similar to life on other American penitentiaries of the era. It wasn t the brutal hellhole

Each prisoner swept his cell clean, dressed, and then stood ready for head count. Then all marches to

any of the other buildings in the island.
The food on Alcatraz was better than other prison foods in America. The prisoners wore also given the

personal space. It also helped keep the prisoners safe from being raped by other bigger inmates. They

32. Wireless Sensor Networks Is Growing Rapidly Over The Few...
1. Abstract: Wireless sensor networks is growing rapidly over the few decades. Due to its flexibility,
wireless sensor networks has been in practice in many areas. Among various wireless networks,
Mobile Ad hoc networks has been one of the unique network. Unlike other network architectures,
MANETs have no central architecture; every node is free to work both as a transmitter and receiver.
Every single node can communicate freely with every other node which is in their communication
range. Otherwise, it depends on neighboring nodes to relay messages. Due to this nature, MANETs are
used in many missionary applications like health care, military use and emergency recovery. However
the wide distribution of MANETs makes it vulnerable to malicious attacks. Hence it is necessary to
design a secure system for MANETs. In this paper we implement a secure system named Enhanced
Adaptive Acknowledgement especially for MANETs. To ensure higher security and reduce the
network overhead, we use a different approach called hybrid cryptography in our proposed scheme.
Enhanced Adaptive Acknowledgment detects higher malicious attackers without greatly disturbing the
network performances. We compare the differences within the Enhanced Adaptive Acknowledgment
before and after introducing the Hybrid cryptography approach

33. Abortion Papers On Abortion
A woman s right to choose, pro choice, pro life, and fetal rights are all buzzwords that are thrown
around throughout American society and have impacted political campaigns, social welfare initiatives,
and monumental court cases. The topic of abortion is not just a modern one, it is a discussion that has
been taking place for thousands of years that have already been discussed at length in both ancient and
modern Rabbinical Jewish sources. Topics of whether a fetus is considered to be a human life, parental
property, or whether abortion is endangering a mother s health have been discussed extensively in
both American and Jewish Law, however, their respective set of rules and regulations differ. The
evolution of the law is more apparent in American law, where the court cases of Roe vs. Wade and
Planned Parenthood vs. Casey lead to the upheaval of abortion law as was formerly known, and gave a
mother a right to choose with certain conditions. Unlike American law, in Jewish law when abortions
are performed they are not discretionary, they are necessary, and according to this philosophy, a
woman does not have a right to choose to abort a life that is in the hands of God unless medically
necessary. Although both in American Law and in Jewish Law the primary health concerns are for the
mother, the worldviews of the laws differ in the sense that American law is primarily concerned about
the privacy of the individual, while Jewish law is concerned with the social aspect of all

Throughout the entire story, Miss Maudie serves to directly contrast Aunt Alexandra, being more
eccentric and caring less about upholding standardvalues. For instance, while Aunt Alexandra is stiff
and traditional, Miss Maudie is a chameleon lady who worked in her flower beds in an old straw hat
and men s coveralls (Lee 42). Despite having some different values, Miss Maudie has no problem
resuming life in a dress, and does not step out of line. In this way, she shows Scout the possibility of
being a lady without giving up individuality and values. Miss Maudie also provides Scout a place
where she can enjoy herself, welcoming the latter into her own home, especially when Jem and Dill
exclude her. Scout describes their neighborly relationship, We could play on her lawn, eat her
scuppernongs if we didn t jump on the arbor, and explore her vast back lot, terms so generous we
seldom spoke to her, so careful were we to preserve the delicate balance of our relationship, but Jem
and Dill drove me closer to her with their behavior (Lee 42). With no real friends other than Jem and
Dill, this place is essential to her wellbeing, and Maudie not only becomes a positive role model for
Scout, but a friend. Miss Maudie also shows Scout how to live more freely by not caring about what
others think. According to Miss Maudie, Footwashers believe anything that s pleasure is a sin. Did you
know some of em came out of the woods one Saturday and passed by this place and told me me and
my flowers were going to hell? (Lee 44). Here Miss Maudie shows Scout that enjoyment is more
important than others opinions. The foot washing Baptists make it clear that they do not approve of

The Chrysalids by John Wyndham is about an innocent boy with telepathic abilities living in an anti

Waknuk, Joseph Strorm and the setting of the book.
The society of Waknuk is taught to follow the laws of God and the Definition of Man for they fear the
punishment that they will receive if they do not so. This fear has blinded the people of Waknuk, so

When Sophie s deviation was discovered, she was forced to flee to the Fringes, where there would be
no discrimination of physical appearances as everyone there are deviants.
Discrimination in the novel is mostly obvious from Joseph Strorm, who is ironically the father of a
deviant, David Strorm. He is the strictest devout of his religion in Waknuk and being the heir of
Waknuk, he bears the responsibility to keep the society deviation free. He does so by discriminating
against deviants, like the society, and punishing them for being born wrong . His devotion to God and
the Definition of Man can be seen when he hit his son, David for wishing he had a third hand by
mistake. He is sensitive to any form of deviation and punishes them harshly but he does admit that
God is merciful, as seen from God, in His mercy, may yet grant you (forgiveness) . This is ironic as
Joseph, being a devout, should be following God s footsteps and be merciful in his actions too but he
is willing to kill and punish people instead, contradicting his religion. His intolerance of deviations led
him to discriminate against them, as can be seen from how he refused to help Aunt Harriet and
humiliated her instead when she came begging for help to save her innocent deviant child. Joseph had

Environment and Root Cause Analysis Navistar considered quality and on time delivery as a priority
that came before costs; therefore, top management as well as initiatives to improve processes and on
time delivery supported various improvement initiatives to quality programs. Andy is an assembly
supervisor but had very broad job responsibilities. Andy s time was taken up in areas such as supplier
quality evaluations, internal process documentation, process improvement, and much more. His focus
was very widespread and his day was drawn away from scheduled and unscheduled meetings; this
position required long hours and weekend work. In addition to the quality issues, truck interior trim
shortages was another challenge, which resulted in reordering of trim parts leading to additional
material handling, and post assembly installation. These delayed parts required overtime that increased
cost and delayed delivery of the finished truck of the customer. Issues came from both Navistar and
their supplier Trimco. Navistar had design changes such as different sizes, repositioning of
mechanisms and other various designer and material changes; however, these changes to the truck
interiors were not communicated to Trimco before production runs were completed. As a result, parts
were shipped with different specifications than those needed for proper fit during assembly. Due to the

42. The Silgrim In Dante s Inferno
In literature, as well as in history, there is often a single individual stranded and in need of a helping
hand. This assistance usually comes in various forms, and depends on the context it is needed for. The
support typically guides the individual away from imminent danger, and towards a second chance or
even ultimate salvation. In the first Canto of The Inferno, Dante the pilgrim, the main character of The
Divine Comedy, goes astray from what his culture and tradition consider the straight road and only by
recalling his cultural and personal past he is able to get back on the road towards redemption.
Dante comprehensively acknowledges that he has lived a life of sin, when he decided to record his
story. Halfway through the route of his life, the pilgrim Dante emerges from his slumber, and into a
