2. A quintessential part of any film trailer is
when the logo of the media institution is
presented to the audience, which normally
takes place at the beginning or at the end of a
film trailer
3. Often with movie institutions, the name of the
institution can present the generic tone of the film for
example, Disney and Universal are often in the same
bracket as they produce a lot of films for younger
audiences (meaning a lot of animated content) and
Paramount and Columbia often have more mature
films for older audiences.
4. A common feature of film institutions they are
either a) named after a founder e.g. Warner
Brothers and Disney or b) given a name that
presents an image of power and represents the
institution in a positive way e.g. Universal (meaning
known globally), Paramount (more important than
anything else)
5. EMPEROR PICTURES: The word ‘emperor’ ultimately
draws association with power, intelligence and efficiency,
which is the associations we would like our institution to
bestow
UNITY PICTURES: This term presents a heavy sense of
togetherness and working well together, which the
audience would see as the institution and the viewers
working together and building a bond.
HARMONY PICTURES (Decided after group vote
between group): Harmony has a peaceful tone and
presents tranquillity and nirvana heavily to the audience.
The audience will associate our institution with no
negative emotion, meaning there is only room for
positivity.
6. As you can see, a majority of the major film institutions have
large scale logos that are placed within a skyline as it
represents the colossal size of the Hollywood majors. There
is a frequent theme of blue throughout , which connotes
peacefulness and will represent the institution positively as
the audience will associate the tranquillity with the
institution.

8. Using Photoshop, I created the Harmony
pictures logo. I decided the go against the
conventions of the other production company
logos and make mine look a lot more simple and
I used a colour scheme of gold and black, the
black used to put emphasis on the gold which
connotes power and being special, which
represents the institution. The use of the
multicoloured text is used so the logo has some
bright colours in a retro font, presenting the
company as fun as well as being serious.
