2. What does the production company do? A production company is the company that promotes and sponsors the final film without this the film wouldn’t be able to be in production or funded. They are also responsible for the promotion of films, TV program's and more.
3. The production logo that we created and why? The production logo we created is featured above. We used the font from www.dafont.com because it was suitable for the genre of film we were creating. The boxed out letters symbolize being trapped and newspaper clippings traditionally associated with ransom notes again fitting in with the genre. Also the writing is in red to suggests horror and blood as this is a stereotypical colour which is used often. This production logo also suits films that have been funded by the BBC like ‘Shifty’ because the storyline is similar and the logo represents fear as it flashes up with a scream effect presenting continuity and makes the audience engaged.
4. What does a distributor do? A film distributor is a individual or company responsible for releasing a film either directly to the public e.g. DVDs or through theatrical entertainment e.g. cinema.
5. Our distribution companies.. We have chosen to use ‘Paramount Pictures’ to distribute our film because they are successful and produced a wide range of films that are similar to our film. The opening of this also fitted in with our film well as it ran alongside the scary music and set the atmosphere.
6. Why produce our film? People are likely to produce our film because it has a clear storyline and good build up within the opening sequence. Paramount Pictures distributed the film ‘Psycho’ which is similar to ours as the characters are both under threat and the main antagonist is much like the one in ‘Psycho.’
7. How might are film been funded? Rollercoaster films and Aramid Productions produced Eden Lake. Aramid Productions are financial backers and therefore would be the sort of company that funded our film.
