What have you learnt about technologies from contrasting evaluation 3
Question 6
1. What Have You Learnt About
Technologies From The
Process Of Constructing This
Product?
2. Websites
For my research I looked at magazine websites to help me get an
idea of what I want my magazine to look like. I looked on magazine
websites that had the same genre as me and I took ideas out of
these magazines to help me.
These magazine also helped me decide what I wanted to put on
each of my pages and how I wanted them to be laid out so they
would look good and professional.
I used websites to help me think of a name for my magazine and I
used some ideas to come up with my own.
Blogging
The blogging I found useful because everything I needed was in one
place and I didn’t need to look around for everything. Other blogs
helped as well because they showed how to make a magazine look
professional and also showed what I should put on them as well.
The blog also makes it easier for the work to be looked at and also
you can look at other blogs and make you decided whether or not
there’s something I could improve in the blog.
3. InDesign
I learnt a lot from InDesign, this software helped me design
and make my contents page and my double spread. For the
double page spread it helped me by already having a grid
ready for me to write into so I didn’t need to worry about
having to keep changing everything around to fit in the page.
The tools I used the most was:
• Text
• Picture Textbox
• Create Shapes
• Add new fonts
The difference between the text and the picture box is that
one adds text and the other adds pictures. I found this helpful
because when you want to position everything the picture box
has a cross through the middle so you can tell which is which.
4. Photoshop
In Photoshop I have learnt all of the tools I needed to create
and make my magazine look professional. I used the editing
tools on the software to edit my pictures I needed for my
pages and also I made my front cover on Photoshop.
Photoshop I used a lot the tools to change how the pictures
looked:
• Vibrance
• Hue
• Saturation
• Colour Balance
• Brightness
• Contrast
Also I used the cloning tool to put a brick wall behind my
background, this helped me improve my skills, and also the
magnetic noose tool .
All of these helped me make my pictures look more
professional and made my magazine look better.
5. Camera’s
Using proper professional camera’s helped with the magazine
because it made everything look better in quality. The pictures once
edited look like proper pictures from a professional photo shoot. I
was really happy with how my pictures came out and how they look
on my magazine.
I think what I could have improved on was that next time I have to
find a proper background instead of having to edit to make the
background behind go white. This I think would improve the quality of
the pictures I took and make them look even better
