Unit Objectives
After studying this unit, you should be able to:

❖evaluate the limit of a function by substitution;
❖evaluate the limit of a function by dividing out technique;
❖evaluate the limit of a function by rationalization;
❖compute one-sided limits;
❖determine if the limit of a function exists

DEFINITION OF LIMIT OF FUNCTIONS
