VER THE PAST DECADE, increasing
focus has been placed on the role that
businesses can – and should – play in
contributing to a sustainable global society.
Failure to face up to these challenges has significant costs.
Increasingly, a firm’s long-term competitiveness is
dependent on how creatively and adroitly its leaders
manage at the intersection of financial, social and
environmental objectives.
Responsibility for assuring that leaders at all levels in
the firm are ready to meet these rising expectations is
widely shared throughout the corporation, but HR
professionals, particularly those responsible for leadership
development, can be at the forefront of the effort.
To be in this vanguard, leadership development
experts must reflect on two critical questions: What
kind of leader is called for? And how do we develop
individuals with these capabilities? Since 1999 the
Aspen Institute’s Business and Society Program has
been convening experts in leadership development
from academic institutions, corporations and
professional service firms around the world, inviting
them to share insights on these questions. This article
details what we have learned so far from conversations
with these leading thinkers.
A new model for business leadership
If we are now expecting businesses to operate with a
longer-term view that takes social and environmental
impacts into account, we need a new model of
leadership to achieve that result. Typically, “new
model” leaders:
• are able to span boundaries, listen to diverse
constituencies and be willing to be altered by any of
these inputs;
• have the courage to make tough decisions in a way
that acknowledges the often conflicting
values/expectations of these constituencies;
• are enriched, not overwhelmed, by complexity and
diversity;
• build a team that is stronger than its individual parts;
• see the firm in a larger context, considering social and
environmental issues beyond the corporation’s gates;
• move beyond solving specific problems or addressing
particular needs ...
Executive summary The traditional leadership styles a.docxgitagrimston
Executive summary
The traditional leadership styles are continuously changing with the adoption of globalization. This is because convergence is all over whereby the competitors are the customers, suppliers and the industry in general. This means that new development strategies are required to be able to cope in the dynamic world as well as in future. In this report, it will discuss some of the leadership concerns on the basis of the global trends which require some leadership attention.
The report will also discuss emerging theories that are applicable in the global changing world. This will then be followed by a discussion on the kind of responsibilities that the leaders have towards coping with competition in the workplace, complexity as well as diversity in the organization. The report will further provide a personal plan on development of proper leadership skills. Under this, it will outline some of the personal development goals. This will be followed by a summary of the relevant steps to be taken to accomplish the goals. An evaluation on how to check for progress in each step will be established. The report will end with a summary regarding how the plan will facilitate personal growth as a leader as well as the growth of others.
Introduction
Leadership has been in place and also undergoing changes based on the changes happening in outside world. With increased globalization, there is the need for leaders to acquire some global competencies. The current workplace is demanding for some emergent practices and there are expectations for digital competencies. In order to survive as a leader, it would be necessary to have a sense of learning and continuous improvement.
In order to create a professional knowledge sharing connection, it requires a kind of trust which will be developed over time and facilitated very effective leadership roles (Cameron & Green, 2008). Therefore, to succeed in the industry, it will be necessary for a leader to set reasonable and measurable goals through focusing on trust, knowledge and credibility together with being updated on changes in global trend affecting leadership roles.
Global leadership concerns for the future
To be a high performance organization, it is necessary to tackle challenges of leadership development with a combined broad thinking. There are quite a number of trends that are linked with leadership. Globalization is the first trend as it is the new business world. This thus requires personnel thinking globally. The trend towards having connected markets will be much stronger. This is because the leaders will be required to understand the cultural, legal, economic, cultural as well as political ramifications (Rothstein & Burke, 2010). Therefore, leaders will be required to see themselves as citizens of the world with expanded field of vision. Leaders will be required to have knowledge on how to effectively manage global producti ...

Considering all of the changes and learning that has been accomplished in your field of study during the past two decades, what have you studied or seen as innovative or linked to the creation of new knowledge? Needs to be included in the essay.
During your course of study, you have been exposed to the areas of distance learning and virtual teams (whether working as a group or with your instructor(s) on a one-on-one basis), so you have seen innovation in terms of moving the classroom from a physical location into a virtual state. With this virtual state in mind, more and more organizations have been able to operate globally to a larger degree. Thus, the sharing of knowledge between organizations has become a valued commodity in the workplace and marketplace. Needs to be included in the essay.
Specifically, as you write your response to this question, you may want to incorporate how your current level of knowledge can be used in an innovative way to help strengthen or increase the knowledge in your field. Also, you may want to consider how your experience in distance learning has changed or not changed your views on globalization, distance learning, and/or knowledge management. Needs to be included in the essay.

Within this working essay discussion I will go over some of the pin pointed issues and problems of Memorial Healthcare System that caused them to have a loss within revenue. My position within this essay discussion is to take on the role of the consultant and re-configure the deficiency within the healthcare system and dynamics. In the beginning the changes worked out well but caused many of MHS employees to leave and find employment elsewhere which eventually put Memorial Healthcare System right back in the same situation and predicament of a loss.
The system of delivery within health care has always been on the change and rise due
to technology along with self-care, health care, development, education, and creating a healthy society. As the old saying goes, “where there is good health there is also good financial wealth” and this is where the formation of the ACA took place and a new integrated delivery system created.
Managed Care within Health Care covers a variety of information from nursing homes, policies, Medical, Medicare, out of pocket, and partial payment, management, contracts, government, and the Social Security State Fund. Within this working paper I will discuss a few of these mechanisms that are applied and utilized within ‘Managed Care’ today. A system within a system that brings in 25% of the United States debt.
In the coming years the United States will find themselves going through a number of changes within the Social Security Administration which will affect the Health Care Industry as we know it “Hospital size has long been an area of discussion and debate in the U.S. healthcare industry. Questions have consistently focused on cost management or efficiency in large versus small hospitals. A persistent question among researchers is whether efficiencies are associated with larger facilities through economies of scale, or if there are alternate scenarios that play a significant part in hospital cost and efficiency” (2009, JHM). Since the Affordable Health Care Act was established it made obtaining health care much more affordable and accessible, but at the same time there has to be some cut back.
Introduction
The big business of health care is growing in a massive rate more now than ever according to The Center for Health Workforce Studies a non-profit organization located in Rensselaer, New York the organization report that, “While total U.S. employment dropped by over 2% between 2000 and 2010, health care employment grew by more than 25% during the same period. More than 13% of the U.S. labor force worked in the health sector or in a health occupation (19 million jobs out of 143 million jobs in U.S. labor force). The health care sector is projected to add over 4.2 million jobs between 2010 and 2020, with 63% of those in ambulatory settings (offices of health practitioners, home health, and other non-institutional settings” (2012, CHWS). Health care is booming in all areas of study and research from Holistic to Western Medicine which include purchasing and supply. Unfortunately this is based off the demand for more Physicians that are not available where there is a need. The health care industry believe it or not includes the food industry and health and fitness as well.
The matter of ethics within the health care industry always needs to be address along with the quality of care for patients. Within this working essay paper I will discuss the matter of; Care & Service Provider, Ethics (codes and values), Mal-Distribution Physician Labor Forces. Even though the health care industry is growing the mal-distribution of health care is still evident in some rural areas. This factor of not having proper care delivered to impoverish neighborhoods and communities is another issue that still plagues the United States. David Cutler the online journal reporter for PBS News Hour stated, “About 10, 15 percent. Just to give you one example, Duke University Hospital has 900 hospital beds and 1,300 billing clerks. The typical Canadian hospital has a handful of billing clerks. Single-payer systems have fewer administrative needs. That’s not to say they’re better, but that’s just on one dimension that they clearly cost less. What a lot of those people are doing in America is they are figuring out how to bill different insurers for different systems, figuring out how to collect money from people, all of that sort of stuff” (2013). The need for health care workers is great, but the balance is off regarding where the needs are not being meet.

RMD24 | Debunking the non-endemic revenue myth Marvin Vacquier Droop | First ...BBPMedia1
Implicitly or explicitly all competing businesses employ a strategy to select a mix
of marketing resources. Formulating such competitive strategies fundamentally
involves recognizing relationships between elements of the marketing mix (e.g.,
price and product quality), as well as assessing competitive and market conditions
(i.e., industry structure in the language of economics).

MASTER in the SCIENCE of ORGANIZATIONAL LEADERSHIP
Under the Collegiate Direction of Dr. Brandy Blunt
2. Introduction
My educational experience within Colorado State University-Global Campus has been a journey of excellence within
learning. Being a Master of Organizational Leadership student, has showed me how important every aspect of
management and leadership is along with the practical knowledge and book knowledge. Every class that I have taken at
CSU-Global Campus has prepared me for Leadership within business and organization along with understanding how my
practical application can be a investment to any infrastructure that I develop. “Many businesses depend on organizational
leaders to make decisions regarding creatively implementing new programs, cutting costs, and training employees in an
effort to make the company more efficient, effective, and successful” (CSU, 2015). Within this PowerPoint presentation I
will elaborate on the array of classes that I have taken for the purpose of higher education and Mastery. I will also
elaborate on the importance within the leadership realm and how all stakeholders, strategic thinking, organizational
development, human behavior, life long learning, and present challenges along with past challenges within leadership can
affect the present and future within leadership.

6. Analyzation of Individuals and Groups
Often times a SWOT analysis will be used to determine the strengths and weakness of a
individual within any organization. This is usually done by a PMS team member by using
a feedback evaluation form “To carry out a SWOT analysis effectively, it’s a good idea to
get a team together, drawn from across the business, for a brain-storming session. Consider
each of the four SWOT areas in turn, and make note of all the ideas, suggestions and
comments which are made. These can be reviewed and edited after the brain-storming
session” (Shell, 2015). Individuals need to be tested within organizations to measure their
abilities within the work place and to see where they are a excellent fit.
Individuals
7. Analyzation of Individuals and Groups
Doing a group analysis is also efficient for groups and this to is done by
the PMS team members. What the PMS team usually does is use a feedback
form to analysis the entire team as a whole within a number scale regarding
group cohesiveness “Once these have been identified, you should create an
action plan to ensure that something is done! Assign someone to each point
and set deadlines. Review the results of your analysis regularly to determine if
anything has changed and what has been achieved” (Shell, 2015). A SWOT
Analysis can also create better group brainstorming!
Groups
8. Developed Knowledge of Strategies, Stakeholders
and Enhance Organizational Capacity (1)
When developing strategies it is
always a good plan to create policies,
procedures, and bylaws when
stakeholders are involved. By doing
this in the now and for the future it will
answer all questions for the investors
to create optimal investor relationships.
Within these policies, procedures, and
by-laws the capacity by which the
organization conducts business at will
and should be noted within the bylaws
for all to review.
9. Developed Knowledge of Strategies, Stakeholders
and Enhance Organizational Capacity (2)
When a organization is functioning at a full
capacity there must be set rules and regulations to
be followed by the board and the clients as well.
“Policies communicate key priorities and provide
broad guidance on how to achieve goals. However,
for a policy to realize its intended impact, it must
be operationalized into concrete, actionable steps
and the resources (human and financial) needed to
implement those steps must be identified. This
process can be referred to as strategy development,
strategic planning, action planning,
implementation planning, or operational planning,
depending on the context” (CDRG, 2014). Every
organization should have policies, procedures, and
bylaws when working as a corporation or if they
plan on crossing bodies of water to do business for
safety measurements
10. Evaluate Human Behavior Within Leadership
Leaders within any organization must
be effective in every way, and one of the
utmost habits that a effective business
leader must showcase is having efficient
communication skills. “Communication is
the most important skill in life. You spend
years learning how to read and write, and
years learning how to speak. But what
about listening? What training have you
had that enables you to listen so you
really, deeply understand another human
being?” (Covey, 89) As Covey stated
within his book “ The 7 Habits of Highly
Effective People” communication
essential within business development to
ensure that the business flourishes and
grows. Communication is a behavior that
some leaders have naturally but others
are taught along with leadership.
11. Demonstrating the Ability to Create and Sustain
Lifelong Learning
When demonstrating life long learning you
must be motivated and eager to teach and learn.
Often within education and business the leader
must show the team motivation in order for
other to feel the say way within that
infrastructure. Be a motivated learner can make
any process seem easier or take some of the
burden off of the learning process. "Motivation is
key in the establishment and further
development of quality in higher education",
stated Jennifer Rowley (1996) discussing the
importance of motivating teaching staff in higher
education. The same can be said of a need to
motivate students to learn, which, in addition to
research, is one of the two ultimate goals of the
institutions of higher education” (Zagreb,2006).
Leaders always demonstrate their abilities
through their actions.
12. Promoting Cohesive Culture Within an Organization!
As a student learner and a business
organizational leader what I have learned
within business is there must be group
cohesiveness in order for that business to
flourish. Many educators and leaders say
there must be a meeting of the minds and
excellent group collaboration for success and
I to would have to agree. “Workplace teams
can take many different developmental
forms, ranging from work groups to self
directed work teams. According to Klimoski
and Mohammed (1994) the content, rate of
development, and formation of shared
mental models might differ according to the
developmental level of the team”
(Kline,2009). The overall factor within
cohesiveness is to ensure that the group
works in a productive manner to produce
vital results that work.
13. Assess Current Challenges Within Leadership!
Some of the current challenges that many
have faced within leadership seem to be
coming answered within many
corporations today. There is more
resolution within businesses when it
comes to development and building for
the future. Challenges that many leader
face are valuable dedicated men and
women that are willing to put in the hard
work to complete assignments and help
with the building of infrastructures. It is
surely imperative that many
organizations and corporations use
leaders to help with hiring of employees
to ensure they pick the most qualified for
the position and someone whom is willing
to put in the faithful hours.
Assessing Challenges andWhat I Have
Learned!
Check the books! You should as a
leader know the stats and numbers
of your business.
Have regular meetings with other
managers and team members to
ensure everyone is on the same page
Create a PMS team to do all company
evaluations and to also help with
policies and procedures.
Use a Change Agent to help with the
transition of any new developments
within the company.
14. Assess Historical Challenges Within Leadership!
History has shown us how significant woman
leadership has grown and the challenges they have
over come to be consider for any higher paid
position. The woman within the work place use to
be no more than a nurse or secretary but now
women leaders flourish to CEO, CFO, CCO, and
business owners. “Modern organizations demand
that those who lead them must increase their
capability to be effective. Modern and forward
thinking organizations also belief in using the
available talent pool effectively and
indiscriminately” (Sharif, Sinoo, El-Mashad, &
Birinci, 2014). Knowledge is power and in order to
become a effective leader you must take the
initiative and apply yourself to be skilled and train
within that leadership position.
Leadership calls for so much more
than just being a man, but rather having
the knowledge, wisdom, practical
knowledge, and book sense. The
challenges that once where there as a
leader within the work place are almost
non existent when it comes to hiring
women verses men even though woman
still have hurdles to over come. As a
student learner and a leader I do not think
that women should burn their bras, but
embrace woman hood and development as
educated leading women. History has also
show us through the ages that women are
wise and their leadership usually starts
within the home.
15. What Skills Can I Bring Into A Organization to Be an
Efficient and Affective Leader
Knowledge of the stated position-Wisdom is power and having the proper education within
the stated position will make me effective and efficient daily.
Group Collaboration Skills- Building teams is a plus for me it also shows that I know how to
group people together that will produce a product or plan.
Time Management Skills- Managing time is a plus for any leader; this helps when you have
projects that need to be done in a timely manner.
Practical Knowledge-The years of me being over a 501c and the training work with grant
funded programs gives me the hands on practical knowledge that I can use in any
organization.
Book Knowledge-The education that I obtained through higher education will help me to
create policies, procedures, and bylaws as a effective leader.
Leadership Skills-Through training and also years of corporation leadership my skills would
be an asset when I work within any organization.
16. CONCLUSION
While obtain my Master in the Science of
Organizational Leadership I was able to grasp the
full concept of organization leadership,
Management, and Change Agent with a form
foundation within the knowledge of leadership. I
was able to understand the full concepts of
diverse leadership models from that will be able
to help shape and form the type of leader that I
will for the now and the future.
