What Is The Purpose Of The Book Striiff
One of New York s Best Selling Books Stiff by Mary Roach was a delight to read. I personally think
this book was very informative, but in such a way that the reader wants to keep reading. Not only was
the book entertaining and informative while reading, but it seemed as though time was not be
mentioned, because of how fast the book went by. Starting off with the introduction part of the book
was a bit longer for me to get through, but after I passed that part, I really enjoyed the rest of the book.
I would recommend this book to anyone because even if you don t have an interest in the scenes
behind it, it is a book you will find quite enjoyable to read. I was introduced to a lot of information
behind the science for cadavers. All through the book we are introduced to a few important people
whom will be important or seen throughout the book. Mary is the one telling the story she talks about
the process each job takes. All while she is also experiencing everything for herself as well. The
author starts off the book with an introduction paragraph which is where we begin to get the feeling of
the book for itself. She starts it off by talking about death and how we could put our dead ... Show

Different approaches will work for different children in your family, and the rules will change as your
children grow.
Understanding why children misbehave
All children test the limits you set and try to cross boundaries some of the time.
This is an inevitable part of growing up, learning and becoming an independent person. Younger
children particularly may test constantly. This is not them being naughty or disobedient it is the only
way they can learn when you mean what you say and what the limits to their behaviour are.
Attention seeking
Children will do just about anything to get the attention they crave from their parents.
Revenge
Trying to get back at someone they feel has treated them badly a sibling, parent or friend. Children
may not understand your reasons for insisting on a rule or limit it helps to recognise their feelings of
anger.
Feeling sad
A child of any age may show that they are feeling sad or anxious by behaving badly and may need
more sympathy and affection. Punishing them will only make matters worse.
Feeling powerless
If a child feels upset at not having control, they may often hit out or get mad at an older sibling or
friend.

When did it enter into China?
In 1971, Starbucks opened its first coffee shop at Seattle. Since then, more and more coffee stores
scattered across the United States and Canada. The serious problem which Starbucks faced to was
saturated home market. In 1996, therefore, Starbucks expended its retail business to overseas, with

Where did it choose first? And then where?
It was until 1999 that the first Starbucks entered into Beijing,
China. After that, it opened around 165 outlets in several big cities in this country, such as Beijing,
Shanghai, Guangzhou, Hong Kong and so on.

Perceptual Set
The aim of this study was to further investigate whether the interpretation of an ambiguous stimulus is
influenced by immediate past experience, and, therefore, by the establishment of a perceptual set. It is
based on an experiment conducted by Bugelski and Alampay (1961). It was hypothesized that
interpretation of an ambiguous stimuli that can be perceived as either a rat or a human face will be
influenced by the context under which they view the figure and their past experience with other
figures. That is they will be influenced by their perceptual set. The results from this study supported
the hypothesis with the results showing that 88.9% of the participants shown animals perceived the

Sigmund Freudian Clips
Freudian Clips...
In 1923 Sigmund Freud authored a paper called The Ego and the Id, which is an analytical study of
the human psyche. Called the Structural Theory, this theory categorizes psychological conditions into
three divisions: the Id, the Super Ego, and the Ego. The Id is best thought of as a newborn child driven
by instinctive drives and impulses and seeks instant gratification. The Super Ego is the multiplicative
inverse of the Id, representing a father figure and a moral compass. The Ego serves as the mediator
between the Id and the Super Ego and takes into account external factors to derive a clear view of
reality. The theory has spurred much discussion in the scientific community, but the concept is firmly
seated in college psychology ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Id like person throws caution to the wind, takes risks without thinking through implications, and
allows the dreamer in him to lead his actions. The Super Ego like person is highly risk averse, needs to
have near perfect information before making a decision, and never, ever, swims until at least 30
minutes after eating. The Ego like person has drive and is willing to take risks, but seeks to understand
situations enough to take calculated risks as opposed to foolish risks.
While reading this, you may have thought of a friend or family member who fits into each of the
above categories. You may have also slotted yourself as being predominantly Id, Super Ego, or Ego
like. It also may be situational to where you are more Id like in certain situations while you are more
Super Ego like in others. As this specifically applies to starting and running your own small business,
it is vitally important that you identify whether you are more Id, Super Ego, or Ego like and that you
balance who you are with others who fit into the other categories; thus the following

The Lost Son Poem Analysis
Theodore Roethke s The Lost Son : Theme of Death Theodore Roethke s 1948 The Lost Son is
perhaps one of his best known poems. It is composed of five sections, which highlight a period or
periods of great sadness for the speaker. From the beginning, it seems that the speaker is also the
author. The five sections are The Flight, The Pit, The Gibber, The Return, and It was beginning winter.
Roethke s work is a journey of sorts as the author indulges the audience in his emotions that reveal his
desolation and sorrow. Eventually, the speaker concludes his extended disposition, and it is apparent
that his griefs are far from over. However, he can only hope for a brighter future. The purpose of this
paper is to analyze the poem and highlight the theme of death expressed by the author.
The first part of the poem, The Flight, is laced with sadness. It reveals the author s feelings about the
loss of identity as well as the anxiety surrounding death. Roethke starts by referring to Woodlawn
cemetery. This, in turn, sets the stage for what is an eerie and frightening narration. He portrays not
just fear but terrible fear. Perhaps the term flight is metaphorical to mean traveling to another world; a
spiritual realm. Woodlawn sets the stage for death. This is where the speaker dies and takes the
infamous trip. At first instance, he presents himself as dead waiting to be consumed by worms or
trodden over by snails. However, a further reading of the poem reveals that it is

George Orwell s A Hanging Essay
In any account written by an author, real or fake, there is always a deeper goal whether it is to
persuade, inform, or just simply entertain. There is always some meaning at its heart. Sometimes,
however, messages become swayed and it becomes difficult to recognize the author s intentions in
writing. Sometimes his or her stance is unclear, however though one side could be strongly argued. A
Hanging by George Orwell is a prime example of this type of work, as the 1931 essay provokes
thought on the issue of capital punishment. The story details an experience Orwell had during his
work in Burma in which he was present for one prisoner s execution. There is certainly conflict within
Orwell for taking part in this event, and for being in relation to the functionaries responsible for
carrying out the sentence. While Orwell does not make his belief on capital punishment clear, there is
fair reason to argue that he is, in fact, an abolitionist. This is due to his possible usage of the prisoner
to represent the inhumanity of the death sentence, an excitable dog portraying the event through the
eyes of an innocent creature, and the irony of the workers humorous words in contrast to the stark
sobriety of the day however, Orwell s supposed objective, though strong, also comes under scrutiny in
its effectiveness. In order to address this piece and analyze its methods of intention, it is preferable to
first provide a summary of its events so that a fluent discussion is allowed. The

Cosmopolitanism, Artificial Intelligence, And Factor X
The ideas of Cosmopolitanism, Artificial Intelligence, and Factor X are all exceptionally complex.
Each of them involves the advancement of society, and how people interact with each other and
technology. Kwame Anthony Appiah writes about the idea that we have obligations to others...taking
an interest in the practices and beliefs that lend them significance, (69) in Making Conversation , the
idea is Cosmopolitanism. Cosmopolitanism is seen as being able to understand and accept the cultures

to be able to accept the traditions of others without having to agree on the principles. In Authenticating

The reality is that these intelligent machines can imitate a majority of human action and responses and
this proves to be true in the Turing Test. A Harvard graduate student, a judge of the Turing test, said I
really thought [PC Therapist] was human because it...was weird and funny, in a normal sort of way,
(Christian 98). Although there have been great advancements made in the development of artificial
intelligence they are not normally considered to be human, specifically because they do not have a life
history, emotions, and more importantly their remains the question of human consciousness,
(Fukuyama 197). As of right now AI do not have a sense of self or the ability to differentiate between
the emotions and feelings that humans have, but with further research scientists are hopeful that there
is progress being made in that area of the development of AI. The issue here is that what morals and
ethics would apply to artificial intelligence, now while they do not have a conscious and in the future
if they can possibly be programmed with a conscious. There would also need to be morals and ethics
in how artificially intelligent machines are treated. In Fukuyama s essay he writes that There have
been conferences and earnest discussions devoted to the question of whether it would be moral to turn
off such a machine if and when this breakthrough occurs, (Fukuyama 197). Ethics would indeed have
to evolve in order

Analysis Of Nat Turner
Reading Nat Turner, Kyle Baker gives a sense of how Turner life was when he was a boy living in his
village all the way up to his death. In the beginning of the book, Baker focuses on a woman and how
her facial emotions changed quickly, from angry, happy and then scared (12,13). The author is
showing how quick your life can change. You are living with fun and games, but then you are running
into the forest to save yourself.
Given that, in chapter 2 there is an elder man sneaking off in the middle of the night to bang on his
drum for his entertainment in his life, but not allowing the white folks to find his instrument (63).
Then on page 64 the white folks hear him and find him and in a matter of seconds what use to make
him happy was taken away and the elder was hung from his hands and whipped for his actions. Here
comes Nat Turner wanting to have education in his life, but he was being rejected by the people that
could help him (71). So what could have made Turner happy in successful for his future was taken
away when the door was slammed in his face. Little later in the chapter he always he would be with
his mom and dad every night (76). Then one random day the slave owner of the Turner decided to sell
them off (99), and now his family is broken apart and unsure of the next time they may see each other
again. Even though education was rejected to Turner he still found a way to learn how to read and

The US economy is the engine that drives the world s economic growth because it is the biggest, most
open, and innovative in the world. The United States must maintain active leadership in economic
growth to preserve the economic advantage. This will promote an attractive destination for investors,
researchers, and students.
Violet extremism directly affects the security of the US citizens and its allies, also indirectly damages
the world economic structure. The immediate and foreseeable future, the most direct threat to the
United States at home and abroad is terrorism and violent extremism. The US greatest responsibly is
to protect the American citizen; however this responsibility does not stop at the US borders. The US
must brace and influence international security because it serves our national interest, upholds our
commitment to allies, and addresses global threats. Violet extremism has a negative effective on the
global economy and instills fears throughout nations.
The most demanding challenge to National Security is violet extremism. The reason is counter

Pardon of Richard Nixon
Controversial Pardon of Richard Nixon
HIST102
American History Since 1877

22 February 2014
Former President Richard Nixon is most well known for his role in the Watergate crisis in the early
1970 s. The Watergate crisis started in June of 1972, when the Democratic National Committee (DNC)
headquarters was broke into by members of Nixon s re election committee. The press took this
breaking news and began to dig deeper into what the Whitehouse (President Nixon) was hiding. Over
the next two years heavy investigations into the Watergate incident revealed that President Nixon did,
in fact, ordered a cover up to keep the incident under control. Fearing impeachment, President Nixon
resigned his presidency in August 1974, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Unfortunately, the controversy did not stop with whether or not the pardon was constitutional.
Political arguments were by far more compelling than the constitutional arguments. Politically, Ford
knew there would be loss in public standing, relations with Congress, and the Republican Party s
fortunes in the 1974 elections. 12 However, he also realized that because of media publicity Nixon
would not receive a fair trial. This is where the controversy begins. People, such as Firmage and
Mangrum, argued that the law must be applied to all persons equally and no one, not even a public
official be permitted to violate the laws with impunity. 13 What they failed to realize were the extreme
circumstances in which Nixon fell under surrounding Watergate. As a former president Nixon was one
of the most powerful figures in the world; the amount of bad publicity he received would not allow for
a fair trial. Special Prosecutor Jaworski was a firm believer that this type of publicity would make
innocent until proven guilty null and void if Nixon were to go to trial.14 Ford s choice to pardon
Nixon prior to a trial was a well thought out plan of action given the circumstances.

Essay On Man Made And Natural Disaster
Man made and natural disasters are incidents that occur within our society. Research has indicated
these incidents have become more common internationally over the past several decades (Pan
American Health Organization, 2004). As a result, it is integral domestically to plan for, work to
prevent, and respond to incidents within our borders. These incidents have been shown to be
increasing in commonality due to increased levels and technology associated with transportation,
higher concentrations of humans in smaller areas, growth of chemical industries that increase
availability of explosive and/or toxic agents, and increased terrorist activity and armed conflicts (Pan
American Health Organization, 2004). In response to these increasing risks of man made and natural
disasters occurring within our borders, it is integral for our society to utilize an emergency
management system in order to prepare for, mitigate, and respond to these incidents. The Incident
Command System (ICS), which allows for coordination on every governmental level and among a
multitude of agencies, facilitates efficient communication between entities, and ensures a continuity of
command through a highly organized chain of command (Phoenix Police Department). ICS is
currently the main and most efficient and effective system throughout governmental and non
governmental agencies and entities within our borders. In response to the terror attacks at the turn of
the century and continuing threat of terror

Two operating systems currently dominate the smartphone market, Apple and Android. It all started
six years ago when Google launched its android system. However, its approach was much different.
Google had made just the software, not the device, giving the software free to phone makers to alter

offering it free, in the long run would create more internet friendly phones and more ad views for

adapts to situations. In the novel, The Chrysalids, it is clear that John Wyndham was writing as a
warning for today s society. Wyndham created the communities in The Chrysalids to show society
how if they behaved in a similar fashion to how they did humanity would not progress. The
xenophobia of Waknuk was portrayed in a way that warned the reader how much of a hindrance the

the exploited class, the mass of workers who do not own the means of production. These people have

are the capitalists who own the means of production. The capitalists watch over the companies, and

Harmonious Dissonance In The Tempest, William Shakespeare uses the Prospero and Caliban s
servant/master relationship and the motif of magic and power to portray that destruction and
confliction will result when there is an external or internal imbalance between the disordered
Dionysian intoxication and the disciplined Apollonian order. Caliban, who resentfully serves Prospero,
represents the impulsive Dionysian servant whom the Apollonian master counteracts. Caliban is out of
control, even stating that he wishes to have violated the honor of Miranda due to his hate of Prospero.

The rise of Caliban, who is drunk with retaliation, represents an imbalance between the Dionysian

the Dionysian intoxication and impulse and the disciplined, rational, Apollonian order can also be
internally present. Prospero represents the intellectual Apollonian figure, who keeps impetuous threats
like Caliban in check. However, Prospero was once ironically a figure of his own Dionysian factor,
creating an internal imbalance between the opposing factors. Prospero expresses that he was once
intoxicated by his Apollonian studies, as his state was growing stranger in his increasing submersion
to his world of books. This leads Prospero to neglect and lose sight of his government responsibilities,
increasingly turning over the power of Duke to his brother Antonio, who in turn becomes intoxicated

Essay On Acropolis
The acropolis is one of Greece s most monumental pieces that is still standing today, Built as a place
of worship. The temples within its walls were used to worship Greek gods like Athena and Poseidon.
Rising over three hundred feet above the city of Athens, it can clearly be noticed why it is called The
Acropolis , which means top of the city . It isn t the only acropolis in Greece, but it was noticeable
more than the others because of its almost flawless planning in where each building is placed.
The winding rocky path that led up to the Acropolis was surrounded by numerous small shrines,
including one to the god Pan, who had appeared to the runner Phidippides before the battle of
Marathon. At its top was the Propylaia, an entryway and façade that formed the gateway to the
Acropolis. Once inside the Sacred Precinct you d notice the most fabulous building in there, The
Parthenon . The Parthenon was started in 447 BC, but they couldn t finish it so they completed it some
fifteen years later. It housed both a treasury and a sanctuary to Athena, in which was placed a fantastic

To A Utilitarian, This Would Not Apply As They Are Not
To a Utilitarian, this would not apply as they are not bound by the holy scripture, the divine command,
they would view this as, it s their own decision to decide what to do with their own body, no
government, no authority or any other person can interfere on what their right is. It is their own
absolute autonomy to make their own decision, whether they choose to die. Jeremy Bentham
associates utilitarianism with ancient hedonism, where actions are resulting in the pursuit of
happiness. It was him who established act utilitarian; where the decisions deal with each individual
case analyzing the benefits and harm to promote to overall happiness, which would yield the best
consequences. Every action and every decision would be weighted for ... Show more content on

This would achieve the best health care system for the society; since we would be saving all the
patients coming through the emergency room. Also, some patients feel hopeless when the clinicians
are making their decisions for them, however, when clinicians are dealing with competent, rational
patients, patients can take part of the decision making on their own treatment, the dilemma happens
when the patient is not rational, incompetent, like a patient without an advanced directive for
healthcare and being in a persistent vegetative state, or coma and unable to make their own decisions.
An advantage to a utilitarian theory would be; if a terminal ill person wanted to die, and family
members did not object to the person wanting to die, then the Mercy killing would be viewed as
acceptable. Similarly, utilitarian s are not bound to the holy scripture, so the command, Though shall
not kill , also has no effect on what is morally right or what is morally wrong for a utilitarian person
wanting to die, so if they majority of the family are okay with the person wanting to die by voluntary
euthanasia, then it would be viewed as acceptable. However, the disadvantage to this would be, what
about the minority? Being utilitarian, and being a minority would not be in your favor, because the
majority would always win. What if your Grandma, who is suffering from a terminal illness,

Examples Of Self Destruction In The Crucible

Self Destruction
Theodore Roosevelt once said, If you could kick the person in the pants responsible for most of your
trouble, you wouldn t sit for a month . This quote explains that an individual is responsible for their
own actions and the consequences that occur as a result of those actions. In The Crucible, John Proctor
is more responsible for his own death than Elizabeth Proctor or Mary Warren. John Proctor is mainly
responsible for his own death. He had an affair with Abigail Williams, which led to her becoming
obsessed with him. Abigail was so determined to be with Proctor that she accused Elizabeth Proctor of
witchcraft in order to take her place as Proctor s spouse. In ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Some feel as though it is Mary s fault because she ended up accusing Proctor of witchcraft and getting
herself out of trouble by siding with Abigail. By her telling the court that Proctor is the Devil s man
and saying that he forced her to overthrow the court , Mary manages to get Proctor arrested and taken
to jail (118). While she did discredit John and cause him to be thrown in jail, she was not responsible
for his death. Proctor set himself up for Mary betraying him because he physically forced her to talk to
the court by grabbing her throat and throwing her on the ground. All she was doing was finding a way
to get out of trouble and get away from Proctor. In addition to setting himself up for this situation, he
set himself up for death by trying to be a hero. Attempting to show the court that the girls were just
pretending may have opened eyes in terms of realizing how wrong the trials were, but Proctor ended
up getting himself killed in the process. Marry Warren may have made Proctor look bad, but she is not

Social And Economic Policy Decisions Impact Income Equality
Social and economic policy decisions impact income equality, which has an effect on the health of
Canadians. Those with lower incomes are directly affected while income inequality affects the health
of all Canadians through weakening of social structure (Raphael, 2002). Contrary to reports of rising
net worth, a new report has been released by an Ottawa based think tank to show Canada s inequality
problem. The top 10 percent of Canadians have seen their net worth grow by 42% since 2005 to 2.1
million in 2012. However, the bottom 10 percent saw their net worth shrink by 150 percent (Flavelle,

For example, the reduction of deaths from infectious diseases such as influenza, diphtheria and
typhoid were due to improvements in general living conditions rather than medical cures (Raphael,

Health and Poverty
Vulnerable populations including immigrants, Aboriginal peoples, single parent families and the
elderly make up a growing percentage of the lower extreme of the socioeconomic scale (Turnbull, J.
Podymow T, 2002). While we are quick to consider the costs of aiding the poor, we rarely consider the
costs that poverty and income inequality inflict on our society. To achieve improved health, it is
critical to improve income security through good jobs, income supports and fairer taxes (Barnes et al.,
2013).
There are two broad strategies that focus on alleviating the effects of poverty on health: 1) directly
reducing poverty and socio economic inequality 2) intervening in pathways connecting poverty and
health. These interventions have been identified as upstream and downstream. Downstream policies
refer to those that have an explicit health purpose and tend to be targeted at those that are already
suffering from increased health risk, while upstream refers to the wider influences on health
inequalities such as income distribution, education and housing. While these approaches fall

Federal Government Budget Essay
Federal government spending is increasing, deficits are lingering, and the amount of accumulated debt
is reaching dangerously high levels. Growing spending and debt are undermining economic growth
and may push the nation into a severe financial crisis in coming years (Edwards, 2016). How can we
keep our balance and spending under control? Federal spending is becoming more and more of a
problem, and Bill Clinton did not balance our budget. He did provide solutions to balance our budget
but allegations state he was only a bystander in the timely process.

But it s not just up to the President which is why it s so hard to come to an agreement. During the
Clinton era, Clinton proposed to increase Federal spending by 4 percent, to $1.73 trillion, to hire
100,000 new teachers, provide adequate child care, boost scientific research and offer monitored tax
incentives. Effects of a large tax increase that Clinton pushed for in his first year are made prominent.
For the most part, it fell entirely on upper income taxpayers and the wealthy people in our society.
Clintons 1994 budget also contained some spending restraints. The cuts allowed the economy to boom
and there were bigger gains in the stock market business that made people happy (Bennett,1998). The
new budget brought in hundreds of millions in unexpected tax revenue from taxes on capital gains and
rapidly rising salaries (Jackson,2008). Although this was a good plan, it unfortunately did not get
approved. The budget was balanced but some say not by Clinton. He was merely just a bystander and
gave his opinion as the time passed. Even though the budget was balanced while he was in office, but
the record shows that was about the extent of his contribution (Moore, 1998). Clinton may have tried

The, Wildlife, And The Natural Land, By Henry David Thoreau
Just years after the Industrial Revolution, a time at which engineering and the economy became the
main concerns of the population, many of the American people forgot the importance of the land that
provided the resources that sustained them. In a time where there was believed to be nowhere but
society to reside in, few refuted the idea that the wilderness was really so uncivilized. In his 1845
memoir, Henry David Thoreau describes his experiences living in a quaint cabin, in the wilderness ,
alongside Walden Pond near Concord, Massachusetts. Presenting his findings of being self reliable,
Thoreau depicts what his life was like alone in the woods with only nature to ease one s mind and
solitude to provide company. With detailed ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He accordingly conveys this idea by stating that society only believes in intrinsic value and only once
one can seclude themselves from the portrait of society can one come to find instrumental value.
Continuing with his descriptions of the Walden Pond during winter, Thoreau presents the idea of
overconsumption and sustainability throughout the book. While observing the ice cutters at Walden
Pond, Thoreau comments on human effort to exploit nature, arguing that the actions are in vain as
nature regenerates much faster than it can be threatened, which is very debatable due to the knowledge
that there is only a finite amount of resources on the planet. Thoreau thoroughly believes in his idea of
self reliance and states that there are only four necessities that should determine one s ability to
survive: food, shelter, clothing, and fuel, many of which he believes nature provides graciously. This
refutes the idea that prosperity is dependent widescale economic surplus. Thoreau makes his argument
clear, writing that any attempt at luxury is likely to prove more as a hinderance that an aid to one s
individual improvement as in Economy when he writes Most men, even in this comparatively free

Ethical Issues Essay
Ethical Issues
Ethical issues are moral challenges facing the health care profession (Stanhope Lancaster, 2012, p.
127). Ethical issues is a major concern in the healthcare field because healthcare providers observe
ethical issues every day and have to make ethical decisions. Advance directives are written documents
that addressed an individual s medical care preferences. These documents usually take effect when
patients no longer can make informed health care decisions for themselves. While these documents are
helpful to loved ones and health care providers, there are a number of ethical considerations that can

Therapy Dogs
We always say, Dog is the best friend of human, but how many of us know the history of human

human for the last ten to twenty thousand years. Although many dogs work for human, it is not ethical
to treat every kind of animals as property. The animals are first independent living things, then they

3019 students of the 4th grade participated in PIRLS 2001 study in Latvia; they completed reading
literacy tests and surveys, their parents and teachers filled in the questionnaires. In order to compare
the data the authors of the paper portioned out 10% of all students with the highest results in reading
literacy (group A) and 10% of students with the lowest reading literacy achievements (group Z). If the
average result of students in Latvia was 545 points with standard deviation 62 points, the average
result of the group with the lowest achievements was 440 points but that of the students from the
highest achievements group 642 points. It means that the students from group A would have results
above the average of the 5th graders, but the results of those of group Z would be below the average in
comparison with the 3rd graders.
Factors making the biggest difference between the students of two groups were explored and traced
when analyzing the data. These factors can be grouped in several fields: social economic factors of
student s family, collaboration of a student and his/her family, student s reading out of school and
student s reading at school.

Sometimes soft and nice Teddy Bears are the right place for a nap. We know that you can clearly see
the cat here, but that is only now when you know you should look for one on the picture. We bet you
wouldn t notice this lady if you were just scrolling the mouse over the screen?
Ok, maybe it was not so big thing to hide between few toys, but what about the bunch of them? Nice
way to make a great camouflage and hide from curious glances.
The white color is so gentle and looks clean. Can you imagine a snow white kitten hiding in a toy of
the same color? But, it is not just a color, look at her position. This is a smart cat, isn t she?
Oh my God, we hope that no one would be so reckless to attempt to lie in this bed without checking
the space. This cat really knows how to enjoy while being almost invisible.
We guess the first you will see here are those red socks. But look a bit better. This cute kitten found
the best relation how to fit on the couch without danger that somebody will hurt her due to

The Characteristics Of An Entrepreneur
Our world is going through an entrepreneurial revolution. A lot of research has been carried in an
attempt to define entrepreneurship while more and more people are being encouraged to become
entrepreneurs. The following study based on the stream of literature and researches on
entrepreneurship focuses on the concept of the entrepreneur and explore his background, his
characteristics and the factors that influences entrepreneurship.
The Entrepreneur: A definition
Gartner (1990), while reviewing the theories of entrepreneurship notes that it is a complex concept
with not even an agreed definition of its scope. Although attempts have been made as early as the
eighteenth century to identify the role of the entrepreneur, opinions are still as diverse as they were.
On one hand there are stereotypical characteristics of entrepreneurs like they are born leaders,
optimists, charismatic, extremely self confident and they inspire people. On the other hand, anyone
who works for himself or owns a business calls himself an entrepreneur. There have also been several
debates to differentiate entrepreneurs from small business owners and managers (Schumpeter 1934).
The word means different things to different people.
The word entrepreneur appeared in the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Social learning theorists focus on community/society, upbringing, parents, situations and environment
to analyse the entrepreneurial process. Family experience with business and educational level were
found to be significant factors in fostering entrepreneurial interests. Shapero and Sokol (1982) argued
that mothers and fathers are the most powerful agents in instilling an entrepreneurial mindset. Surveys
also pointed out that self employed or entrepreneur parents can trigger a positive environment for
entrepreneurial development. Parents profession, the relationship with parents, social status and order
have figured in research as determinants of

Budgeting In Healthcare
Within the health care field, planning and budgeting is a requirement to have a successful business.
Budgeting can be defined as the creation and use of financial forecasts to plan for and control business
s operations. (Gapenski, 2013). In other words budgeting is planning your finances based on how
much money you have or make. Within organizations there are different types of budget types such as
revenue budgets, expense budget, and operating budget. Revenue Budgets within the health care field
are defined as the listing of expected revenues of an organization usually on a monthly, quarterly, and
annual basis. (Gapenski, 2013). Therefore being said within this timeframe it is required for all
budgets to be documented, data pulled, and

Menstrual Hygiene A Public Health, Gender Equality, And...
The United Nations declared menstrual hygiene a public health, gender equality, and human rights
issue, but on what ground? Often times, policies are routed on or based off theoretical perspectives
from philosophers, ethicists, economists, etc. Unfortunately, not all countries agreed with the UN on
this declaration of women s right, despite women make up half of the global population. The
understanding of women s bodies is relatively new, and literature on women s rights is also relatively
new. Women in countries around the world are shamed and limited in activities they are legally and
socially permitted to do depending on their menstrual cycle. In this paper, I will agree with the UN s
declaration that menstrual hygiene management (MHM) is a public health issue, gender equality, and
human rights issue through the lens of Sen and Nussbaum s capabilities approach in addition to Jagger
s criticism of Nussbaum. Both Sen and Nussbaum agree, although somebody could have in theory, the
capability of fulfilling an activity, their social and physical environment in addition to social factors
may prohibit them from physically completing, or even engaging, in an activity. According to Sen, the
lack of substantive freedoms relates directly to economic poverty, which robs people of the freedom to
satisfy hunger, or to achieve sufficient nutrition, or to obtain remedies for treatable illnesses, or the
opportunity to be adequately clothed or sheltered, or to enjoy clean water or

Premier League Essay
For the six clubs in England, finishing top four in the Premier League is the same as surviving
relegation.
Without Champions League football, clubs suddenly panic as there is the likely hood of having to sell
off their stars, falling behind to compete in the transfer window, and losing out on financial resources.
This past season, Chelsea, Tottenham, Manchester City, and Liverpool managed to get across the
finish line somewhere in the top four. For them, Champions League football is looming on the horizon
and have nothing to worry about just yet. And somehow joining them, will be Jose Mourinho s
Manchester United, who finished sixth in the Premier League, but beat Ajax in the Europa League
final to qualify.

Tottenham are heading into the summer with more questions than answers, excitement, and nerves.
Their 2016 17 campaign was successful to a degree. They finally finished above arch rival Arsenal for
the first time in 22 years. They said goodbye to White Heart Lane and replacing it with a revolutionary
football stadium. Best of all they finished second and are going to play Champions League football yet
again. But they did crash out of the Champions League in a very winable group and have no
silverware to show for their brilliant effort this past season.
Three questions to ask:
Can Tottenham hold on to their best players especially from their defense and midfield?
How much cash are they willing to spend and for who needs in the attack?
Are they ready to take the leap to becoming European Elites doing better in the Champions League?
As uncertainity swirls around the club going forward, they are a great position to be more than noisy
neighbors to Chelsea and Arsenal.
Manchester City are heading into summer with things to sort out. The super rich club clearly under
performed by finishing third in the Premier League, surrendering a two goal advantage in the
Champions League round of 16 against Monaco, and losing to Arsenal in the semifinals of the FA
Cup. Pep Guardiola has work to do as they club expects excellence and results. With Champions
League football looming and bookies making one of the favorites to lift the Premier League come next

Dominate Cultural Patterns of Switzerland Essay
Interpersonal Relations/Communications
Dominant Cultural Patterns in the United States as Compared and Contrasted to Dominant Cultural
Patterns in Switzerland
Switzerland is one of the most mountainous countries in Europe. The Alps cover more than half of the
country. It is a small country of 15,942 square miles. The country can be geographically divided into 3
areas: the Alps, the Mittleland (plateau), and the Jura mountains.
The population of Switzerland is about 7.3 million, with the majority of the population living in the
Mittleland area. Switzerland is a melting pot of different ethnic groups Germans, French, Italians, and

The Swiss are more thoughtful and create a community of trust and loyalty.
Like each state in the United States, the Swiss cantons have their own constitution, legislative,
executive, and judiciary branch. Patriotism and loyalty are established by military service. According
to the reference book, Culturgram, every physically fit male serves in the Swiss Army. They train on
occasion and keep their gun and uniform at home always ready to form a militia to defend the country
(278).
When comparing and contrasting equality between the two countries, the citizens of both the United
States and Switzerland consider themselves equal. Both countries provide constitutions that guarantee
freedoms and liberties for their citizens. Freedom of religion is guaranteed in the first amendant of the
constitution in the United States. In 1973, a referendum repealed articles of the constitution of
Switzerland that were responsible for banning the Jesuit order and the founding of new religions
houses, guaranteeing freedom of worship (Bram 65).
When comparing and contrasting the dominant cultural pattern of materialism, I can only infer that the
Swiss citizens enjoy creature comforts just as much as the citizens of the United States. The Swiss are
known to be conservative and value thrift. The United States is credit orientated. We seem to be

Essay On Voting Rights
Without a doubt voting rights have grown since their first implications in the beginning of this
democracy. In the beginning the only person who were able to vote and be part of the government
were white protestant male. However, that would of course change after the Voting Rights Act that
was signed into order by President Lyndon Johnson that would remove discriminating factors used on
African Americans due to the fact that it was unconstitutional under the firth teen amendment. Some
of the discriminating factors that were used were laws passed on by the jim crow laws that included
literacy test, or trick questions that had to be answered as well as poll taxes all which kept the lower
class and minorities from having a vote in what they believe in. However, minorities were not the only
ones left outside of the voting precincts women would also not have the right to vote until the women
s suffrage movement that would lead into the 19 Amendment which gave everybody a right to vote
regardless of gender. Although, this was a merely 90 years ago in the 1920 s which is a considerable
small amount of time considering our form of government isn t that old. Even with all these
ratifications of forming new laws to make everything equal regardless of race and gender there are
still a problem with voting in today s age although the problems rely more on the technology being
used, the access into the polls, as well as a variety of choice in nominees

Three Act Paradigm
The narrative structure employed by the screenwriter follows the familiar three act paradigm. The 1st
act establishes the basic plot for the film. It starts off with Joe dead in a swimming pool in a flashback,

who wrote a script that went nowhere his car was is trying to be repo. While trying to escape the

he could move out except Max told him that Norma tried to kill herself because he left. With this act
Norma gets Joe back and he decides to stay in a relationship with her. In addition to this Norma and
Max go to see Cecil B. DeMille to see if he liked her screenplay. DeMille doesn t have the heart to tell

The Workplace Challenges And Organizational Behavior
In contrast with the past workplace challenges and organizational behavior, there is a necessity to
understand ourselves and others. Sometimes the stress and prestige can cause an adverse impact on
one s position in the workplace. The ability to deal with our emotions while working effectually with
others and at the same time, performing the organization s expectations are in high demand. Since the
employees are an asset, and the organization is expecting a return on their investment, understanding
how emotions work and how it impacts one s capacity is indispensable in accomplishing
organizational goals. In the workplace, people often have to work with each other. So the handling of
relationships and interacting with others becomes the key to the success of the organization. Managers
need to have a combination of skills and abilities such as the strength of will, awareness of self,
empathy for others and sensitivity toward others internally and externally. Before one can handle
others emotions he/she must first learn to lead themselves. So the question become, how is this done?
Coleman s theory suggest that this can be done through emotional intelligence which is the ability to
create, build and maintain viable relationships (Coleman, 1998, p. 14). No one wants to follow the
leadership of a person who cannot manage his/her emotions. Let s look together at three business CEO
s personal backgrounds and use of emotional intelligence. The top chief emotions officers in the U.S.

Symptoms And Symptoms Of A Mental Disorder
A mental disorder is a diagnosis of a behavioral or mental pattern that can cause suffering or a poor
ability to function in ordinary life. Such features may be persistent, relapsing and remitting, or occur
as a single episode. Many disorders have been described, with signs and symptoms that vary widely
between specific disorders.
The causes of mental disorders are often unclear. Theories may incorporate findings from a range of
fields. Mental disorders are usually defined by a combination of how a person behaves, feels,
perceives or thinks.
Services are based in psychiatric hospitals or in the community, and assessments are carried out by
psychiatrists, clinical psychologists and clinical social workers, using various methods but often ...

DSM IV precedes the definition with caveats, stating that, as in the case with many medical terms,
mental disorder lacks a consistent operational definition that covers all situations , noting that different
levels of abstraction can be used for medical definitions, including pathology, symptomology,
deviance from a normal range, or etiology, and that the same is true for mental disorders, so that
sometimes one type of definition is appropriate, and sometimes another, depending on the situation.
Edward Theodore Gein was an American murderer and body snatcher. His crimes, committed around
his hometown of Plainfield, Wisconsin, gathered widespread notoriety after authorities discovered
Gein had exhumed corpses from local graveyards and fashioned trophies and keepsakes from their

Perceptual Set The aim of this study was to further investigate whether the interpretation of an ambiguous stimulus is influenced by immediate past experience, and, therefore, by the establishment of a perceptual set. It is based on an experiment conducted by Bugelski and Alampay (1961). It was hypothesized that interpretation of an ambiguous stimuli that can be perceived as either a rat or a human face will be influenced by the context under which they view the figure and their past experience with other figures. That is they will be influenced by their perceptual set. The results from this study supported the hypothesis with the results showing that 88.9% of the participants shown animals perceived the ambiguous figure to be an animal. In ... • 8. Sigmund Freudian Clips Freudian Clips... In 1923 Sigmund Freud authored a paper called The Ego and the Id, which is an analytical study of the human psyche. Called the Structural Theory, this theory categorizes psychological conditions into three divisions: the Id, the Super Ego, and the Ego. The Id is best thought of as a newborn child driven by instinctive drives and impulses and seeks instant gratification. The Super Ego is the multiplicative inverse of the Id, representing a father figure and a moral compass. The Ego serves as the mediator between the Id and the Super Ego and takes into account external factors to derive a clear view of reality. The theory has spurred much discussion in the scientific community, but the concept is firmly seated in college psychology ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The Super Ego like person is highly risk averse, needs to have near perfect information before making a decision, and never, ever, swims until at least 30 minutes after eating. The Ego like person has drive and is willing to take risks, but seeks to understand situations enough to take calculated risks as opposed to foolish risks. While reading this, you may have thought of a friend or family member who fits into each of the above categories. You may have also slotted yourself as being predominantly Id, Super Ego, or Ego like. It also may be situational to where you are more Id like in certain situations while you are more Super Ego like in others. • 9. The Lost Son Poem Analysis Theodore Roethke s The Lost Son : Theme of Death Theodore Roethke s 1948 The Lost Son is perhaps one of his best known poems. It is composed of five sections, which highlight a period or periods of great sadness for the speaker. From the beginning, it seems that the speaker is also the author. The five sections are The Flight, The Pit, The Gibber, The Return, and It was beginning winter. Roethke s work is a journey of sorts as the author indulges the audience in his emotions that reveal his desolation and sorrow. Eventually, the speaker concludes his extended disposition, and it is apparent that his griefs are far from over. However, he can only hope for a brighter future. The purpose of this paper is to analyze the poem and highlight the theme of death expressed by the author. The first part of the poem, The Flight, is laced with sadness. It reveals the author s feelings about the loss of identity as well as the anxiety surrounding death. Roethke starts by referring to Woodlawn cemetery. This, in turn, sets the stage for what is an eerie and frightening narration. He portrays not just fear but terrible fear. Perhaps the term flight is metaphorical to mean traveling to another world; a spiritual realm. Woodlawn sets the stage for death. This is where the speaker dies and takes the infamous trip. At first instance, he presents himself as dead waiting to be consumed by worms or trodden over by snails. However, a further reading of the poem reveals that it is ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 10. George Orwell s A Hanging Essay In any account written by an author, real or fake, there is always a deeper goal whether it is to persuade, inform, or just simply entertain. There is always some meaning at its heart. Sometimes, however, messages become swayed and it becomes difficult to recognize the author s intentions in writing. Sometimes his or her stance is unclear, however though one side could be strongly argued. A Hanging by George Orwell is a prime example of this type of work, as the 1931 essay provokes thought on the issue of capital punishment. The story details an experience Orwell had during his work in Burma in which he was present for one prisoner s execution. There is certainly conflict within Orwell for taking part in this event, and for being in relation to the functionaries responsible for carrying out the sentence. While Orwell does not make his belief on capital punishment clear, there is fair reason to argue that he is, in fact, an abolitionist. This is due to his possible usage of the prisoner to represent the inhumanity of the death sentence, an excitable dog portraying the event through the eyes of an innocent creature, and the irony of the workers humorous words in contrast to the stark sobriety of the day however, Orwell s supposed objective, though strong, also comes under scrutiny in its effectiveness. In order to address this piece and analyze its methods of intention, it is preferable to first provide a summary of its events so that a fluent discussion is allowed. The ... • 15. Essay On Man Made And Natural Disaster Man made and natural disasters are incidents that occur within our society. Research has indicated these incidents have become more common internationally over the past several decades (Pan American Health Organization, 2004). As a result, it is integral domestically to plan for, work to prevent, and respond to incidents within our borders. These incidents have been shown to be increasing in commonality due to increased levels and technology associated with transportation, higher concentrations of humans in smaller areas, growth of chemical industries that increase availability of explosive and/or toxic agents, and increased terrorist activity and armed conflicts (Pan American Health Organization, 2004). In response to these increasing risks of man made and natural disasters occurring within our borders, it is integral for our society to utilize an emergency management system in order to prepare for, mitigate, and respond to these incidents. The Incident Command System (ICS), which allows for coordination on every governmental level and among a multitude of agencies, facilitates efficient communication between entities, and ensures a continuity of command through a highly organized chain of command (Phoenix Police Department). Downstream policies refer to those that have an explicit health purpose and tend to be targeted at those that are already suffering from increased health risk, while upstream refers to the wider influences on health inequalities such as income distribution, education and housing. Growing spending and debt are undermining economic growth and may push the nation into a severe financial crisis in coming years (Edwards, 2016). During the Clinton era, Clinton proposed to increase Federal spending by 4 percent, to $1.73 trillion, to hire 100,000 new teachers, provide adequate child care, boost scientific research and offer monitored tax incentives. Effects of a large tax increase that Clinton pushed for in his first year are made prominent. For the most part, it fell entirely on upper income taxpayers and the wealthy people in our society. Clintons 1994 budget also contained some spending restraints. The cuts allowed the economy to boom and there were bigger gains in the stock market business that made people happy (Bennett,1998). The new budget brought in hundreds of millions in unexpected tax revenue from taxes on capital gains and rapidly rising salaries (Jackson,2008). Although this was a good plan, it unfortunately did not get approved. The budget was balanced but some say not by Clinton. He was merely just a bystander and gave his opinion as the time passed. The, Wildlife, And The Natural Land, By Henry David Thoreau Just years after the Industrial Revolution, a time at which engineering and the economy became the main concerns of the population, many of the American people forgot the importance of the land that provided the resources that sustained them. In a time where there was believed to be nowhere but society to reside in, few refuted the idea that the wilderness was really so uncivilized. In his 1845 memoir, Henry David Thoreau describes his experiences living in a quaint cabin, in the wilderness , alongside Walden Pond near Concord, Massachusetts. He accordingly conveys this idea by stating that society only believes in intrinsic value and only once one can seclude themselves from the portrait of society can one come to find instrumental value. Continuing with his descriptions of the Walden Pond during winter, Thoreau presents the idea of overconsumption and sustainability throughout the book. While observing the ice cutters at Walden Pond, Thoreau comments on human effort to exploit nature, arguing that the actions are in vain as nature regenerates much faster than it can be threatened, which is very debatable due to the knowledge that there is only a finite amount of resources on the planet. Thoreau thoroughly believes in his idea of self reliance and states that there are only four necessities that should determine one s ability to survive: food, shelter, clothing, and fuel, many of which he believes nature provides graciously. This refutes the idea that prosperity is dependent widescale economic surplus.
