a symbol of a dependable thought truck, as the name hints a hard body. Another object would have to

somehow impersonal. The stage had straight boards that were going away from the crowed making
the truck in the distance look bigger. The truck really stood out when it s was clean you could see its

CPU i5 6600: We chose the new 6th generation intel skylake core because of the higher performance
that comes with the newer generation. We also chose the i5 instead of the i7 because there was no
room in the budget for the i7 unless the money is wasted into bottlenecking. In addition, we chose the
quad core processors because most games are only beginning to adapt to perform on quad core
processors which means an 8 core processor would be unnecessary and overly expensive. Lastly the

5. The Role of Belonging in Dickinson s Poetry and Jules Music
Belonging s instinctive qualities are explored in the poetry of Emily Dickinson, which also highlights
the reasons for pursuing belonging, including the need for emotional sustenance and self validation.
On the other hand, the song Mad World by Gary Jules, communicates the daunting prospect of losing
one s individual identity as a consequence of belonging to a conformist society.
Emily Dickinson s poetry confirms belonging is a yearning, which most humans seek to satisfy simply
because we are social beings. The statement What mystery pervades a well! from the poem of the
same name, expresses the yearning for belonging by implying an empathic question and a longing for
the water , which is a symbol for the epitome of life. Since ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

The sheer complexity of the emotional aspects involved with belonging may be seen in the belonging
estrangement paradox; highlighted by the fact that those who know her know her less and that those
who attempt to understand belonging and nature are incapable of understanding nature s ghost and
hidden secrets. Dickinson seems to be looking into a lid of glass , the surface of the water, or what we
perceive as life, and personifies the surface by calling it an abyss s face highlighting life s
immeasurable depth, whilst also implying through the connotations of glass being similar to a mirror
that we ourselves may never be able to understand our purpose and place in this life. In an attempt to
understand nature Dickinson uses personification, describing nature as a female entity, to make it is
easier to interact with something living rather than that which is inanimate.
Unlike the poetry of Emily Dickinson, the song Mad World by Gary Jules explores the conformity of
today s society, which is shown to inevitably darken one s outlook on life. Jules apathy reveals how
this form of belonging is quite destructive; as he communicates that individuality becomes redundant
in a world of anonymity. Jules exclamation of I want to hide my head and drown my sorrows exhibits
the desperate desire to escape from the mundane and depressive atmosphere of a uniform society.
The very title of this song, Mad World ,

6. Themes Of All Quiet On The Western Front
All Quiet On The Western Front written by Erich Maria Remarque is a wonderful tale that expresses
the theme of comradeship, dehumanizing effects of war, and the futility of war. All 296 pages are full
of twists and turns, lessons to learn, and all the brutality of war. This anti war book opens your eyes to
situations you ve never thought about. It shines a new light on battle that has never been documented
before. All Quiet on the Western Front is a coming of age book that teaches you many valuable things.
Remarque s All Quiet On The Western Front had many great lessons, one of the greatest ones was the
theme of comradeship. During his time on the front, Paul and his buddies formed a bond with each
other that could not be broken. This is clear when Paul states that they are the strongest, most
comforting thing there is anywhere: they are the voices of my comrades. (Remarque 212) In this line,
Paul expresses his compassion and respect, he has for his comrades. Paul s thought process
encourages the idea that his friends help him get through each day, That during his hardest times, his
friends voices help him push through it. When Paul was going through an internal battle, his comrades
talked to him and helped him work it out. For example, when Paul finally lets his frustrations out to
his friends he listens to them and feels comforted, reassured by their presence. (Remarque, 228) The
theme of comradeship is being able to forge connections with other soldiers.

7. Night Inhumanity And Humanity Essay
Alan Paton once said, There is only one way in which one can endure man s inhumanity to man and
that is to try, in one s own life, to exemplify man s inhumanity to man. By stating these words, Paton
means that the only way one can stop the mistreatment of humans is to completely abolish inhumanity
and strive for more humanity. Throughout the novels Tuesdays with Morrie and Night, both
inhumanity and humanity are displayed. Inhumanity is the extremely cruel behavior bestowed upon
humans and humanity is the exact opposite. The authors of the two novels, Mitch Albom and Elie
Weisel, write about good and bad times in the main characters lives that are being told about in their
books. Inhumanity and humanity play as major themes all throughout ... Show more content on

Wiesel interprets the things that he and his family, along with the rest of the Jews, had to endure under
Hitler s power. Hitler and his Nazi soldiers are accountable for the millions of Jews deaths due to the
inhumanity that they illustrate. The Nazi soldiers did things such as beat, burn, and tortured the Jewish
people just because they were Jewish. They forced them to travel like a herd of animals without food
or water. They took away their hair, clothes, and family, without giving them a warning. Hitler wanted
to exterminate the Jewish people. One example of how inhumane the Jews were treated is that they
did not have names. When arriving to the concentration camps, they were given identification
numbers. This took away the Jews pride. Another example of the terrible treatment Elie received is
when he was beaten by a whip for a long period of time. Twenty four...twenty five! (Weisel 58). Elie
was whipped twenty five times and passed out because he had interfered in people s affair according
to a soldier. The Jews had to endure this mistreatment for several months and years and most of them
did not survive due to the inhumanity of Hitler and his Nazi

8. The Effect Of Temperature On The Earth Surface Energy Budget
1. Introduction
In 1762, Scottish chemist Joseph Black first introduced the term Latent Heat . He defined this term as
the quantity of heat absorbed or released by a substance undergoing a change of state at a constant
temperature and pressure [2]. Black, used the term latent heat in the context of calorimetry [3] when
he observed a change in volume of a thermodynamic system whilst it was held at a constant
temperature.
Two more common forms of enthalpies are latent heat of fusion (solid to liquid) and latent of
vaporization (liquid to vapour). Both of these changes are endothermic as they absorb energy whilst
changing state, which is important in the science of Meteorology. Meteorology studies the processes
of transpiration, evaporation ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This is because when heat is added to a system whilst changing state there is no change in
temperature.
Specific heat capacity is an important value for many reasons; substances with a small specific heat
capacity are useful for tools used in cooking such as pans and kettles because their temperature needs
to be raised quickly whereas substances that have a large specific heat are more suitable for insulation
as an absorption of heat will cause a smaller change in temperature.
2. Theory
2.1 Latent Heat
Latent heat derives from the amount of work required to overcome the forces that hold together the
atoms or molecules in a substance. Attractive forces maintain the crystalline lattice of a solid and each
atom oscillates to and from its average centre of mass position. As the temperature of this structure
increases the oscillations become progressively more violent until the melting point is reached and the
attractive forces holding the lattice together are no longer sufficient enough to maintain the crystalline
structure s stability.
Further heat (latent heat of fusion) must be added for the substance to complete a full change of state.
Once enough heat is added to the system the substance will melt and become liquid which results in
the atoms and molecules to no longer maintain a structured crystal lattice but instead are free to move.

9. Watching Tv Is Not So Bad
Do you enjoy spending your nights off work laying on the couch binge watching your favorite show
on Netflix? I know I do. Things such as binge watching and marathoning TV series is becoming more
and more socially acceptable in our day and age but there are still many people who hold the beliefs
that watching TV makes you dumb, and who say things like you should find something useful to do
with your time. Because to them, watching TV has no benefits to it at all. But what if there were
actually ways to prove to those people that our binge watching habits can actually make us smarter?
As a person who loves her TV marathons, I was quite interested in this topic when it got brought up. I
was pretty pleased when I learned that watching TV really is not so bad. Here are some ways how: the
first is that watching TV can relieve stress. A study done by the university of Rochester found that
watching TV contributes to lower blood pressure and stress relief. TV is a way to distract ourselves for
a little while from the daily stresses and worries in our lives. Another way that watching TV benefits
us is that watching TV can actually boost your creativity. Have you ever found it useful to have the TV
on in the background while you are getting some work done? According to a study published in The
Journal of Consumer Research the sounds of TV can boost creativity even if you are not fully engaged
in watching. TV also is not all bad for young teenagers to be watching either. Most

10. The Importance Of Lancelot In Malory s Morte D Arthur
Malory explicitly links Tristram and Lancelot in their desire for the unattainable and their
correspondence as contemporaries confined to new ideas presented as high treason. Elizabeth Kay
Harris describes the changes the textual alterations signify in her 1995, Evidence Against Lancelot and
Guinevere in Malory s Morte D Arthur: Treason by Imagination . By using a background of law, she
argues that the process in Tristram demonstrates the inverse of Lancelot and represents a uniquely
English reading of the two. However, Lancelot admires Tristram until he weds a woman other than
Iseult the Fair. Capellanus argument should allow these relationships to work, as long as, singular
attachment does not form the goal. Both men overstep Capellanus ramifications, finding themselves
falling from their lord s graces and ostracized from society. With these warnings in mind, book VII,
Lancelot and Guinevere, sees the public behavior of Guinevere shame Arthur after the knights return
from the quest for the Holy Grail. Lancelot tries to break off ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

The structure of Guinevere s adultery showed direct alteration in the English translation to avoid direct
description of an English queen s sexuality and political agency. Though sexual liberty ebbed over the
previous time, the literature of the courtly love movement ensured the sanctity of noblewomen s
bodies as they held the ultimate choice in partner selection. Without this decisive power, male
courtiers regained power in relationships and regulated women s involvement in their affairs. As a
result, Guinevere loses her autonomy in her courtship with Lancelot and only survives through
inaction and silence allows her to escape. Guinevere s narrative shows the secularization of the female

Her performance of the song on the film was excellent. Galore of emotion was put into the

about Effie. It tells us how strong she is as a woman. This performance shows that she is a strong
woman because she performed the song after she was told she was not apart of the Dreamgirls
anymore. The fact that she was able to sing the song at that magnitude, at that moment, is amazing.
This performance also tells us how strong her love was for Curtis Taylor Jr. (Jamie Foxx). It tells us
how strong her love was for Curtis because she sings the song to him. The song is about her not going
anywhere and telling him to love her like she loves him. Sadly, the song does not affect Curtis and he
moves on. The last thing this performance tells us is that Effie truly has a stronger voice than Deena

14. Examples Of Duplicity In King Lear
Duplicity is a theme which dominates and defines the play King Lear. The rise of the Machiavellian
Edmund and the fall of the eponymous tragic hero King Lear are both due to one major aspect of
human nature, deception. The tragedy is set in motion by King Lear, who blinded by hubris, attempts
to abdicate and retain power. His folly and hubris, allows him to deceive himself into believing the
best way to divide the kingdom is to command his daughters to partake in a demeaning love test,
where Goneril and Regan feed his ego with more acts of deceit. Edmund employs the same tactic of
deception to manipulate his rise to power. He convinces his blind father Gloucester into banishing his
loyal son Edgar. Deception is also used for good in the play, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

He seduces both Goneril and Regan, whom are arch deceivers, causing them to become infatuated
with him. This allows Edmund to rise to power and he manufactures jealousy between them,
becoming a king in the process. Regan declares Witness the world, that I create thee here, my lord and
master . Through manipulating attraction and identifying it as a weakness Edmund has taken power.
The dramatic irony utilised by Shakespeare adds to the atmosphere of this scene, as it was Regan and
Goneril who used false declarations of love to rise to power, and it was this very strategy is what led
to their undoing. Edmund highlights the abhorrent truth that any showing of trust can be manipulated
via deception for personal gain.
Despite the malevolence of deception, Shakespeare reveals how at times it can be used for the benefit
of man. The loyalty of Lear s servant Kent is shown when he adopts the disguise of Cauis to aid Lear.
Having been banished for contradicting Lear s beliefs, in the hope of helping him by being honest,
Kent says Now banished Kent, if thou canst serve where thou dost stand condemned. The
juxtaposition employed by Shakespeare of the words serve and condemned is potent, highlighting
Kent s integrity. He deceives Lear, solely to help him. This is an excellently crafted example of how
deception can be used for

The sweetly sickening odor of decomposing bodies hung over many parts of Rwanda in July 1994: . . .
at Nyarubuye in eastern Rwanda, where the cadaver of a little girl, otherwise intact, had been flattened
by passing vehicles to the thinness of cardboard in front of the church steps, (Deforges 6). The
normalcy of horrible images like this one had cast a depressing gloom over Rwanda during the
genocide, a time when an extreme divide caused mass killings of Tutsi by the Hutu. Many tactics such

After she was seized, she had been raped multiple times not only because of her beauty, but also
because she had been sleeping with Tutsis which therefore meant that she could sleep with the Hutu as

group of refugees. In the chaos after of the rape by Musema, the woman was ordered to turn over from
her stomach to her back and raped by multiple soldiers in turns. Her breast was cut off by one of the
soldiers, which they tried to make her child eat (Mullins 726 727). The violence and chaos allowed for
the pre existing animosities to turn into the crime of rape. The act, though isolated, was obviously
meant directed towards the entire Tutsi population as a whole. Alfred Musema was a man who often
engaged in these opportunistic rapes, which were single episode events (Mullins 726).
During the Rwandan genocide, some rapes occurred recurrently throughout a timespan. Sexual
enslavements occurred when a woman was detained, typically in the house of an Interhamwe, and

22 October 2014
The Poverty Trap Imagine a small village in Africa. What images come to mind? Is it small huts in a
desolate village? Or how about exotic animals? The truth is that although some of these descriptions
are accurate, they tend to leave out the pain and suffering of people. Every day 21,000 children die
throughout different parts of the world (Shah). These deaths are the result of poverty as well as the
conditions that come with it. Being in poverty is so much more than just not having money. Hunger,
lack of resources, and wars plague developing countries, all of which have to do with poverty. Around
870 million people in the world are severely undernourished ( 2013 World Hunger). With 7.1 billion
people living in the world this means that 1 in 8 of them aren t getting enough food to sustain what
their bodies need (2013 World Hunger). Not surprisingly though 852 million of the hungry live in
developing countries (2013 World Hunger). What causes the developing countries to be so far behind
the rest of the world when it comes to lacking the basic resources needed by every human being?

The main feature that defines the Early Classical Greek sculpture of the human body from the Archaic
Greek sculpture of the body is the pose of the body. Early Classical Greek sculptures of the human
body are asymmetrical. During this time period, sculptures started adapting the contrapposto pose to
their sculptures. The contrapposto pose brought more life and energy to the sculptures than the
previous Archaic Greek sculptures. Another feature that defines the Early Classical Greek sculpture of
the human body is that the sculptures were made from hollow casting bronze. This technique allowed
for more complex action poses to be developed. The sculptures during this period, like the archaic
period, were highly idealized forms of the human body.

Before the Qin Dynasty, China was composed of a network of city states that were loyal to the
Chinese king. The seven Warring States had their own institutions that were run by aristocrats. The
Qin Dynasty took initiative to expand their territory and to unite the Chinese empire together. Through
their ruthless military techniques the Qin Dynasty was able to conquer the city states in China. The
Qin Dynasty ruled from 221 BCE 206 BCE; during their regime, Emperor Qin s primary goal was to
unify the Chinese people. Even though the Qin Dynasty was a short lived empire, it played a major
role in unifying the Chinese empire and provided a foundation for succeeding regimes through a
centralized government, standardized systems, and through infrastructure. Even though the Qin
Dynasty deprived the civilization of education, it created a strong bureaucratic system that limited
feudal power and developed a cooperative population. Each Warring state followed a different
political system, before it was conquered by Qin. The First Emperor, Qin Shi Huang, felt it was
necessary to legitimize his power to unify the city states and for a cooperative population. In the Qin
Dynasty, the institution of emperor had a special meaning in China as the repository of imperial

21. Pros And Cons Of Discrimination In Italy
Sometimes and this is something that go against the human rights is the discrimination, fans, well...
bad fans discriminate players. In Europe, most in Italy they discriminate the players that have a
different color of skin, like for example Balotelli, Balotelli suffered discrimination after he join to the
A.C Milan, ultras of the rival of Milan sing There are no niggas in Italy... that because of he is born in
Ghana but he was adopted by a Italy family so he have the nationality of Italy.
Discrimination, the discrimination should be sanctioned, but police and nobody do nothing to protect
the rights of this player, and this acts of discrimination occurs in everywhere, in all the stadiums of
Italy and in all stadiums of South America, this is something serious and that people have to become
aware.
Why? Because actually children suffered the same acts of discrimination, last year I was in a match
for the tournament of all the schools of Guayaquil and Samborondon and before our game, was a
match between a school that is for students of a lower class and a school of high class and the school
that was for high class and you expect that students of that school be educated, but no!, the students of
that school discriminate the other only for the color of the skin, and for being lower class than theirs,
so the education is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

USES AND GRATIFICATION THEORY
Uses and gratification theory is a theories that concentrate on what people do with the media and what
media does for the people. Uses and gratification theory is different from others theories that it
suppose that because individuals have the right to use the media, not passive consumers who position
themselves as media. Uses and gratification theory to explore how individuals purposely look for
media to meet specific needs, such as entertainment, relaxation or socialization or goal. Several
researchers have classified the type of uses and gratifications into a fourfold category system such as
cognition, diversion, social utility, affiliation, withdrawal, and expression.
COGNITION
Cognition means a process of learning. Individuals will uses a cognitive way to obtain information
about something by using a mass medium. People watch news to get what had happening in our world
or look for some news idea from a magazine or books. However, research has noticed that there are
two different types of cognitive functions are being performed. The one hand is using the ... Show

23. Letting Go
Letting go. It is difficult for us in so many ways and on so many levels. Yet life calls upon us to do it,
over and over again. Letting go is part of our growth process. We cannot move on to the new while
continuing to cling to the old. There come times, in the context of love and romance, when we must
learn to let go. For some of us, as described in the song, we must let go of a past romantic relationship.
Maybe the relationship was not meant to be: perhaps it was hurtful to us, or perhaps it was hindering
the personal or spiritual growth of one or both partners. In this case, even when there may still be
feelings of passion, or attraction, or just the comfort of the familiar, we must be strong in letting go of
something that is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Often adult children who have lost a parent before working through interpersonal issues, or before
having an opportunity to say goodbye, have difficulty letting go of unresolved issues or guilt.
Sometimes we may need to go for some counseling or do a ritual (some act with personal meaning) to
allow us to release these emotions. Many of us have trouble letting go of old ways of viewing people
who have been part of our lives for an extended period of time. They may be changing, and yet we do
not let go of viewing them in the same way, and/or we try to discourage that change. We refuse to let
go of the labeling, categorizing, and pre set expectations we have of those we know, and of ourselves.
This seems particularly true of many parents of teenage or young adult children. Many parents have a
difficult time letting go of them as children, and allowing them to grow up. It is hard for parents to
make that transition from treating their children as kids, to treating them as adults and more like
friends. Many of these same parents have trouble letting go of viewing themselves, primarily, in the
role of parent. For instance, some mothers are afraid to let their kids become grownups, because they
are afraid to let go of their own identity as mother. They have become so identified with that one role,
that they no longer are sure who they are, outside of that role. When we refuse to let go of old ways of
identifying and viewing ourselves and others,

24. Drug Replacement Therapy
Drug replacement therapy is a widely discussed topic and there are many concerns about whether it is
a positive or negative alternative/solution to drug addiction. First, you must understand what drug
addiction is. Drug addiction begins as a voluntary act proceeding on as the addiction progresses into a
manic world of chaos. Quite often uncontrollable leading on into criminal activities and possibly death
if recovery isn t sought. Drug addiction in this instance becomes a disease not only affecting the
individual consuming these substances, but also trickling down to each member of the family unit.
Drug replacement therapy was originally intended for individual s suffering with a heroin addiction.

individuals who have already been through the detoxification process. Drug replacement therapy
drugs are also used with tobacco addictions in the form of Zyban and Chantix. In some cases, these
medications have some side effects like depression and suicidal ideation. If these symptoms occur, it is
recommended to discontinue these medications. This type of drug replacement therapy is only used
for a short period.
Drug replacement therapy is also used to help alcoholics begin their recovery along with support
groups like Alcoholics Anonymous and Narcotics Anonymous. Medications used are Naltrexone,
Campral, and Antabuse. Co occurring mental health issues may also factor in with the addiction due to

25. Hurricane Katrin The Hurricane
INTRODUCTION:
Early in the morning on August 29, 2005, Hurricane Katrina struck the Gulf Coast of the United
States. The storm itself did a great deal of damage, but its aftermath was catastrophic. Levee breaches
led to massive flooding, and many people charged that the federal government was slow to meet the
needs of the people affected by the storm. Hundreds of thousands of people in Louisiana, Mississippi
and Alabama were displaced from their homes, and experts estimate that Katrina caused more than
$150 billion in damage.[1]
HURRICANE KATRINA: BEFORE THE STORM:
Katrina at first shaped over the Bahamas on Aug. 23, 2005, as a tropical sorrow. A decently
characterized band of storm mists started to wrap around the north side of the storm s flow focus in the
early morning hours of Aug. 24. The storm was named Tropical Storm Katrina. The day preceding
Katrina hit, New Orleans Mayor Ray Nagin issued the city s first ever obligatory clearing request. He
likewise pronounced that the Superdome, a stadium found on moderately high ground close
downtown, would serve as a haven of final resort for individuals who couldn t leave the city. By dusk,
very nearly 80 percent of the city s populace had emptied. Around 10,000 had looked for sanctuary in
the Superdome, while countless others decided to endure the storm at home.[2]
When it went to southern Florida on Aug. 25, Katrina was a moderate Category 1 typhoon. While it
brought on some flooding and losses two individuals were

its controversial nature.
The exportation of jobs offshore is job outsourcing. This, to some, is believed to be a benefit to our

no jobs and often in this lazy economy, go without for months on end. This just hurts our current
economy, creating more struggles and causing less spending, which is needed to get out of the current
economic despair. Outsourcing is a way for greedy corporations to make more profits, lay off more
workers who have seniority and corresponding wages, and to end up bringing in new workers at
starting salary. According to the president of eInnovate, Bill Bryant, America is losing more than two
thousand jobs a day across every field due to outsourcing . Outsourcing is affecting American industry

Introduction
The globalization of the marketplace has brought about costs and benefits for all countries and
industries. A main benefit of globalization for producers, like the those of us in the manufacturing
industry is access to more customers however, competition also increases which decreases the
potential for sales. Economic integrations are a part of global business that look to increase the
efficiency of resources. Economic integrations and trading blocs are instituted in order to remove
barriers to trade. The idea is that by removing barriers each individual economy will be able to utilize
their own resources and those of others with more with more efficiency (Hill, 2013, p. 256). The result

is the most recognizable free trade area (Hill, 2013, p.257 258). The major argument against free trade
areas is that jobs which can be done for less are moved to other countries (Ho, 2016). In order to
provide the congressional committee with an overview of the impact free trade areas have had on the
US manufacturing industry this text will focus on NAFTA s impact. NAFTA NAFTA is a free trade
agreement between the US, Mexico and Canada that was implemented in 1994 (Childress, 2012, p.

2012, p.23). This allowed each country to focus on producing goods and services that their own local
factors of production allow them to do most efficiently and trade for those which can be produced for
less and of higher quality in other countries. The U.S. lost roughly 800,000 jobs to Mexico between
1997 and 2013 NAFTA wa the key driver for job losses (Lunby,2016). Many US manufacturing
companies moved production to Mexico where labor is cheaper as labor is the highest direct cost

Loss History/Personal Awareness
Dealing With the Loss of my Marriage
Tina Gaffin
University of the Cumberlands
Abstract
This paper explores how I dealt with the loss and subsequent grief after the loss of my marriage. I will
discuss the phases of grief that I have gone through, what most affected my coping style, lessons
learned, and how the loss will or will not affect my ability to provide counsel.
Keywords: loss, grief, cope
Grief is like the ocean; it comes on waves ebbing and flowing. Sometimes the water is calm, and
sometimes it is overwhelming. All we can do is learn to swim.
~Vicki Harrison (2014)
Divorced is not what I had pictured for my life. Things had been going wrong, almost from the start,
but I kept at it, because that is what you do in a marriage; you ebb and flow like the ocean. Sometimes
it is easy, but mostly it is work, hard work. But, you cannot do it alone, and one day, I was done. I was
tired of being alone in my marriage. I had been married just over nine years when I made the decision
to leave. John Bowlby suggests, Attachments develop early in life and offer security and survival for
the individual. It is when these affectional attachments are broken or lost, that individuals experience
distress and emotional disturbance such as anxiety, crying and anger; these emotions are often
expressed as mourning (AIPC, 2010). Even though I did not meet and bond with my husband early in
life, an attachment

30. Ideology In The Selfish Giant, And The Bling Ring
In both the films we watched in class a large range of ideological perspectives were presented, and
those perspectives were largely based upon their director s views and opinions of the world. The two
films were The Selfish Giant directed by Clio Bernard, and The Bling Ring directed by Sophia
Coppola. Ideology is a very important concept in both films, and it can be defined as a systematic
body of ideas, attitudes, values and perspectives that help shape a particular culture or group within
that culture. Each director uses formal elements, and character values to show specific ideologies. In
The Bling Ring Sophia Coppla focuses on showing the life style that a group of corrupt teens so
desperately wants to live, and why the culture surrounding them is the reason for their corrupt values.
While the film The Selfish Giant highlights issues of working class people, and a culture that has put
children in a position where stealing to support ones family feels like doing the right thing. Select
characters in each film have a fascination with material things, and although they have very different
reasons for them the side effects they experience because of these fascinations are very similar. In The
Bling Ring the characters have a strong desire to acquire the most popular, and extravagant fashion
items; the motivation behind this desire is that they have learned base their self worth off the things
they own and nothing else. One of the main characters in the film Nick talks about

In a rapid globalizing world, America is not prepared to continue outshining other nations. Year after
year, countries throughout the globe are better preparing young individuals in the mathematics,
science and engineering fields. Students are better equipped to collaborate at the international level
through foreign language acquisition and increased global cultural knowledge. New generations bring
new ideas, goals and standards, thus the rational ignorance of American citizens will further prevent
the United States from developing at its highest level. Keeping up with the global competition will
require a transformation in societal perspectives, with help from the media, as well as different
educational focuses beginning at the elementary level. The United States is not destined to fail, but
worldwide competition is increasing and adjustments are necessary for the American population and
its educational system in order to maintain competitiveness. According to the Organization for
Economic Co Operation and Development, the Program for International Student Assessment (PISA)

32. Analysis Of William Shakespeare s Henry Iv
Shakespeare is one of the most widely known playwrights of history, and has been hailed for his plot
structure and character development. An example of this being one of his most noticed and widely
regarded characters in Henry IV Part 1, Falstaff. His character immediately gets the attention of the
audience through his variance in personality from most others of his day and life style. Falstaff is an
old, fat, disgraced knight and Hal s partner in crime. He is always looking for a good time while he
eats, drinks, and pisses away all he can get his hands on. A more modern parallel would be the fiction
character Captain Jack Sparrow from Pirates of the Caribbean. Both abuse any power or authority

So feasibly Falstaff and Jack Sparrow were included in their individual stories so the audience would
get hooked on the story line and feel envious of these characters and their lifestyle. Falstaff may have
been put into the story of Henry IV Part 1 because he comes off as more of an actual person than other
characters, making the play more real to the audience. This is supported by how Falstaff takes
advantage of his position given to him by Prince Hal for the war. Instead of gathering the bravest
fighters he can so he can give his all to the cause, he finds the lowest of the low and takes bribes for
letting certain people stay out of the war. Albert Tolman covers the idea of how real Falstaff is in an
article he wrote, Why Did Shakespeare Create Falstaff? Tolman asserts: Of the characters of the great
Dramatist [Shakespeare] Hamlet, Cleopatra, Iago, and Falstaff are among the most marvelous. They
are portrayed with such fullness and intensity that they seem to outrun the very laws of their being.
They escape from the world of fiction and are. Historical characters are less real than they. This is
supported by Falstaff s take on the honor of death in battle. Well, tis no matter; honour pricks me on.
Yea, but how if honour prick me off when I come on? How then? Can honour set to a leg? No. Or an
arm? No. Or take away the grief of a wound? No. Honour hath no skill in surgery, then? No. What is
honour? A word. What is in that word honour ? What is

German policy encourages building structures that are both efficient and that often produce their own
energy, by allowing the government to directly pay property owners a fair market value for any
renewable energy produced, versus Iowa s standard of low rate utility payouts (AIA) (Database of
State Incentives for Renewables and Efficiency). This is but one example of the differences in policy
that I plan to investigate in my research. Through careful analysis of policy at the local and national
level in Germany, I will work to identify the areas in which policy and attitudinal changes could have
the greatest effect on energy consumption. Energy savings can be found in the embodied energy of a
structure, as well as through the inputs of energy into buildings and outputs of waste that require
energy to treat (e.g. sewage, trash). For example, in Germany, laws requiring companies to implement
cradle to grave waste controls sharply contrast with U.S. policy that puts the onus on the consumer to
make sure waste is disposed of and emissions are accounted for properly (JWNET 2010). As I will be
working in conjunction with several other students each of us examining some aspect of Holistic
Sustainability we will work together to simultaneously answer the broader question of what a new

Factors that Affect the Activity of Urease
Aim:
To investigate closely the factors that can affect the activity of urease. The effect of concentration and
temperature can be studied over a period of time leading to the order and activation enthalpy of the
reaction.
Introduction:
UREASE
(NH 2 ) 2 CO + 3H 2 O 2NH 3 (aq) + CO 2 (g)
Urease is an enzyme found in microorganisms, invertebrates, and higher plants. It catalyses the
hydrolysis of urea to ammonia and carbon dioxide. In some bacteria and invertebrates this reaction is
the final step in the breakdown of complex nitrogenous compounds before ammonia is excreted.

This combined structure is termed the enzyme substrate complex. Each type of enzyme will usually
act on only one type of substrate molecule. This is because the shape of the active site will only allow
one shape of molecule to fit in it. The enzyme is said to be specific for this substrate.
There are two types of enzyme inhibitors: Competitive and Non Competitive inhibition. If an inhibitor
molecule binds only briefly to the active site of the enzyme, there is competition between it and the
substrate for the active site. This means it is more likely that the substrate will collide with a filled
active site and so this is known as competitive inhibition. It is said to be reversible (not permanent)
because it can be reversed by increasing the concentration of the substrate.
Sometimes, the inhibitor can remain permanently bonded with the active site and therefore cause a
permanent block to the substrate. No competition occurs as it does not matter how much substrate is
present. This is non competitive irreversible inhibition.
Other factors affecting enzyme activity:
Substrate concentration
35. As substrate concentration increases, the initial rate of reaction also increases as collisions between
enzyme molecules and reactants become more frequent. When the enzymes
