Analysis Of The Statue Of Liberty
The Statue of Liberty was first thought of in 1865 by Professor Edouard de Laboulaye in France as a
monument of Americas newly founded freedom. It was mentioned at a dinner party where the
Sculptor of the statue Frederic Auguste Bartholdi was to design. This monument is over 100 years old,
stands at 305 feet, and has a total weight of 225 tons and as you can imagine the building of this
massive statue took many different materials, a lot of site planning, and over two decades to complete
it. Many materials were used in building the Statue of Liberty. These materials are concrete for the
base of the statue, Copper for the exterior of the statue, wrought iron for the bars that would hold the
copper in place, glass for the windows in the crown, and then steel for the inside skeletal framework.
In this statue there is 31 tons of copper, and 125 tons in the framework, because of this much work
went into determining what materials were going to be used to build the statue. The reasons they had
to put so much work into determining what materials they were going to use is because they came to
an agreement with America. America was building the base while the statue itself would be built in
France then shipped to America and assembled there. Since they came to this agreement the statue
would have to be shipped from France to America and if the statue was too heavy the boat would have
obviously sunk. So they thought of many materials they could use such as bronze and stone until they

Mantra To Overcome Depression Analysis
VILLACORTA, Louise STYLISTICS L85
Dr. Miciano
I. Intoduction
Stylistics is a form of text analysis that uses the rules of language and devices of thought to deepened
meaning that has been understood from the piece. (Ogunsiji, 2012) Through this, if one analyses using
literary theories; the work could be furthered using stylistical theories.
This paper will be discussing Sierra DeMulder s poem Mantra To Overcome Depression using
different stylistical aspects.
The first aspect that will be discussed is verbs, as the poem contains 29 sentences; 17 of which start
with a verb. Verbs are classified into two categories; transitive and intransitive verbs. Transitive are
the verbs used with a direct object while intransitive are those used ... Show more content on

Based on the table above, one can already see that there are more transitive verbs than intransitive. Of
the stated 23 verbs and verb phrases, 17 are transitive. As verbs are heavily foregrounded in this piece,
the importance of action is only furthered by the transitive vs intransitive analysis. This gives the
implication that the main technique of overcoming depression is purposeful and deliberate

The Path Of An Instructional Designer Because
When I joined the United State Air Force in 2004, I quickly learned how easy it is to pass the blame. I
noticed early in my military career, that broken processes were often ignored. Meanwhile, the person
at the tactical level of the process was blamed for the result. After all the punishments are dealt out,
new employees are assigned to the project, and all the smoke clears, the same problems seem to
persist. When I suspect a process is inefficient, I feel a strong urge to find out why these issues exist
and then find solutions. This is often a pursuit that puts me at odds with some supervisors, but
cherished by some subordinates. It s not hard for me to recognize that most employees want to excel at
their jobs. Unfortunately, their ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Teaching students to work on the B 52 aircraft in Minot, North Dakota during the dead of winter bears
some unique challenges. It takes a strong leadership ability to motivate students to perform hands on
task while enduring 30 degree below zero temperatures. In the Air Force s Non Commissioned Officer
Academy (NCOA) I was awarded the Distinguished Graduate for displaying that level of leadership.
I feel that underneath all the positional authorities of leadership, the true test is the ability to empower
people. This is the reason why I want to not only learn how to use technology in an education setting;
I also want to improve the lives of students with leadership. I believe that the educational technology
leadership program at George Washington University is the only program that perfectly meshes the
two together. In my opinion, human performance is the key to learning. However, it seems as though
education sometimes focuses on the information that needs to be taught instead of the outcomes. Dr.
Watkins publication highlighted this theory in previous work by Robert Mager. Watkins (2010) stated
instructional designers should move beyond determining what instructors should teach; rather, they
should focus on understanding what learners should be able to do as a result of the instruction.
Technology can serve as an excellent starting point for student centered learning.
Technology and leadership are the two elements that draw me to this program. There are

Psychotherapy For Dissociative Identity Disorder
Dissociative Identity Disorder, commonly known as Multiple Personality Disorder, is characterized by
an involuntary escape from reality characterized by a disconnection between thoughts, identity,
consciousness, and memory (Dissociative). An example of mild everyday dissociation is when you are
given a list to accomplish throughout the day, but forget some along the way. The dissociation
experienced in MPD is more involved in the long term memory. Symptoms are the reaction of
enduring a traumatic event, commonly expressed in abuse and military combat. DID has a vast variety
of symptoms including mood swings, dissociative amnesia, distress, and sleep loss. Dissociative
amnesia is also tied to what most patients refer to as blackouts . Even ... Show more content on

I was just swinging my bat, over and over again, with no thoughts in my head. The methodical
movement of my bat and the sound of the breeze it makes, was calming to me. My mind was blank as
I was just going through my on deck routine. But like always, a few thoughts slipped in. You are going
to strike out again, for the third time, my mind told me, You are going to let the whole team down, and
lose the game. The championship game. I battled the little devil me on my left shoulder, who was
feeding my brain these awful thoughts, by repeating an encouraging phrase. You got this Ashley, you

and kicking up mounds of dirt along the way, I make it to third base. While standing on the dusty old
bag, bent over and catching my breath, I feel an overwhelming amount of joy. I just stand and smile as
wide as the Chesire cat, while the fans and my teammates go crazy. My triple hit had drove in three
runs which, means we now have the lead. After my hit, my team was inspired. We played harder than
ever before, making some unbelievable plays while we were at it. At the end of the game, we came out
on top, winning the state championship. On the ride home, I felt a sense of relief and peace. I was
exhausted but felt like I was on Cloud 9, especially when I looked at the huge ring I had received.
Instead of giving my team a trophy, we each got a super bowl ring after our winning game. I call it my
super bowl ring because it in fact looks like an exact copy of the rings the winning football team earn.

Support Language Development
There are many factors which can aid language development, particularly through writing (Watts et
al., 2013). Jones and Coffey (2013) identified that writing should be developed procedurally through
copying, initially at word level to learn spellings and develop familiarisation with vocabulary and
individual letters. Before then progressing to phrase level and on to sentences. It is thought that
through copying the children are beginning to memorise the vocabulary and can help them to engrain
key sentence structures, as they pay close attention to the individual words and spellings. Macaro
(2006) has also identified that copy writing is often used as a way of remembering spellings for new
target vocabulary. Hurrell (1999) criticises the motion of copy writing: as it gives the children too
many things to focus on. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This is a very difficult task especially in a foreign language with differing word structures and
sentence conventions. Another criticism of copy writing is that children often make assumptions that
copy writing is easy which means they do not necessarily pay full attention, meaning they make
careless mistakes which result in the little recall of the vocabulary (Macaro, 2006). Alternative
activities such as word searches, crosswords and gap filling exercises, as outlined by Kirsch (2008),
encourage the children to focus on each individual letter, which thus supports the memorisation of
their spellings. It also encourages the ability to identify common grammatical structures and raises
phonetic awareness. It is important for children to improve their phonetic awareness when learning to
write in a foreign language alongside being allowed to make mistakes without fear of second language
anxiety, as outlined by Levine

Seven Year s War Paper
Seven Year s War Paper
Many factors led to the Seven Years War. Along with these factors, I think that the huge differences in
cultural backgrounds and points of view between the various countries involves also contributed to the
Seven Years War. In the seventeenth century, the colonies were becoming over run by various, very
different immigrant groups (Davidson, 2006). Famine, warfare, and religious persecution forced most
of the non English groups to leave from their homes in Europe and go to the American colonies. This
immigration quickly increased the population and made the colonies more diverse. The diversity
caused the colonies to be primarily divided along cultural lines. The colonist divided ... Show more

The conflict between the superpowers for the control of the continent began the Seven Years War.
Most people put the beginning of the Seven Years War in the 1754, but it actually occurred from 1756
to 1763. In the Seven Years War, France, and Great Britain struggled to control eastern North America
(Davidson, 2006). The area between the Mississippi River and the Appalachian mountain range was
contested, as both nations claimed it. When the British won the Seven Years War, their colonial
holdings doubled in size and they gained control of North America. Conflicts over trading rights and
the control of the Ohio country was the primary cause of the French and the Indian War (Davidson,
2006). British control over North America and the Seven Years War led to many issues and problems
as the British struggled to maintain their supremacy. The French came out behind in each of these
struggles, they lost position as highest colonial power for the next generation, their position would not
be restored until French Revolution of the 1970 s. Since each colony had to run its own military
campaigns for many years, the colonies were isolated from each other. While the Seven Years War did
determine who would control the North America continent, conflicts caused by the war would still
continue. The British Parliament was determined that the

Does The Prime Minister Have Too Much Power
The downfall of Canada and its democracy lays in the hands of the prime minister. Second to the
governor general the prime minister holds the single highest power an individual in parliament can
obtain. The unrestricted power given to them, discussed in section I, represents more of a monarchy
than a democracy and illustrates how Canada and its ideologies are being skewed and altered to
benefit the prime minister. Throughout the paper we will examine the defective parliamentary system,
addressing the specific powers that enable the prime ministers to silence Parliament. Although various
arguments are made throughout the paper, the focus will be on the overwhelming evidence supporting
the thesis that the prime minister has too much power. Section

theories supporting the case. Although the literatures are in general agreement on placebo analgesia
there is some disagreement to the mechanism of pain relief. The various theories that will be looked at
are expectation activated opioid system, condition activated specific subsystems and doctor patient

is key to remember that the neurobiological mechanisms occur in different physiological systems in
various medical conditions and in healthy volunteers (Finniss et al, 2010).

There are four lobes; frontal lobe, parietal lobe, occipital lobe and temporal lobe. The brains structure
is divided because different parts of the brain have control over different parts and actions of the body.
The main role of the brain is to help maintenance and function of the whole body (Bear, Connors and
paradise, 2007).
The nervous system of the body is the communication and control network it comprises of the central
nervous system (CNS), peripheral nervous system (PNS) and the autonomic nervous system
(ANS).The brain and the spinal cord comprise to form the CNS, this is the body s main control centre.
The PNS is a complex network of nerves branching across the whole body, 12 pairs of cranial nerves
originate from the brain and 31 pairs of spinal nerves originate from the spinal cord. These nerves
transmit information between the body and the brain via nerve impulses. The ANS shares nerve
structures with both the CNS and PNS, it functions automatically with no conscious awareness to
control the body s basic functions like heart rate. In the PNS there are two divisions; afferent and
efferent. The afferent division controls signals sent to the brain and the efferent division controls
message from the brain to the body. Sensory inputs travel via the afferent division to signal the brain
for processing, co ordination and interpretation. The brain makes a suitable decision to the signal sent

We are always taught to appreciate the little things in life; the things that don t seem to have much of
significance at first but end up meaning the world to us. These small things have a value so great but
so hidden that they are usually taken a granted for. In The Heart of Darkness by Joseph Conrad, there
are a few characters that aren t present in the book for a large amount of time but have a great affect
on the story. Kurtz is one of these characters. Kurtz is introduced towards the end of the story but he

Darkness is a major theme in The Heart of Darkness. Kurtz is unaware of his own darkness which
leads to his downfall. He cannot see what kind of person he has become and how the darkness of the
jungle has completely taken over him. The jungle is so secluded and mysterious that it actually
influences Kurtz s bad behavior. Kurtz becomes greedy and powerful but never realizes that this
behavior is bringing him down until he is on the verge of death. Kurtz last words, The horror! The
horror! (63) show Kurtz s realization that the darkness had consumed him. Kurtz himself is one of the
biggest examples of darkness in this book. The final thing Kurtz had an affect on was the other
characters development; specifically Marlow s. Marlow spent his journey on the Congo listening to so
many stories about Kurtz that he becomes obsessed with meeting him. At one point in the story,
Marlow finds out there is a possibility that Kurtz is dead and he admits that, For the moment that was
the dominant thought. There was a sense of extreme disappointment, as though I had found out I had
been striving after something altogether without a substance (41). When Marlow finally meets Kurtz
he is a little disappointed. He finds out that Kurtz actually isn t as amazing as he expected. Marlow is
thrown a back but doesn t give up complete hope. When Kurtz dies, and says his final words, Marlow

Summary and Analysis of The Man of Law s Tale
Fragment II
The Words of the Host to the Company and Prologue to the Man of Law s Tale:
The host speaks to the rest of the travelers, telling them that they can regain lost property but not lost
time. The host suggests that the lawyer tell the next tale, and he agrees to do so, for he does not intend
to break his promises. He says that we ought to keep the laws we give to others. He even refers to
Chaucer, who works ignorantly and writes poorly, but at the very least does not write filthy tales of

The sultan thus decided that he would convert to Christianity and that his baronets would follow him
in his conversion. With this conversion the Roman emperor gave Constance away in marriage, but she
was overcome with sorrow, for she did not wish to be sent to a foreign country. She accepts, however,
thinking that women are made to be subject to men s governance. The mother of the sultan (the
sultana), however, learned of his intentions to convert, and sent for her own council.
Analysis:
The Man of Law s Tale exalts the sacrifice and honor of Constance, the daughter of the Roman
emperor who will suffer a number of injustices during the years over which the story takes place. It is
an overtly religious tale that does not even reach for the subtlety of allegory. Constance depends on
her religious faith for her survival throughout a number of events in the story, while those characters
who do not share her Christian faith are uniformly evil, whether pagan or Muslim. The tale takes a
narrow view of humanity in which Christianity represents unadulterated purity and any other religious
tradition is pure evil. Yet the Man of Law s Tale places a significant emphasis on fate;
Her virtue and honor stem from her devotion to Christian principles, while those who adhere to other
religious beliefs are automatically suspect. This holds

Toxic Mold Research Paper
Whom to Sue When It Comes to Toxic Mold Exposure Toxic mold is one thing that you should never
take lightly. Even though there are thousands of mold breeds, and though most of them are harmless,
the few that are toxic are seriously dangerous. Not only can toxic mold hurt you, your family and
cause heavy expenses in medical bills, but the cost to remove mold from your house is extensive as
well. Since mold in a building is not your fault, you should not have to pay the removal cost, or
possibly even that of the medical expenses. So whom you have to sue to get it covered? To find out,
you need to ask yourself some questions: Where Were You When the Mold Affected You? First of all,
you have to determine where the mold occurred, so that you can deduce where the blame lies. You
have to consider your regular routine, and the conditions in said places that may have facilitated
exposure to harmful breeds of mold. Here are a few examples of places where mold may have

Shameless is a Golden Globe nominated show with a white dominated cast. One of the siblings on the
show is black, but is identified as a White male contrary to the character s skin tone. When it comes to
representations of Blacks on television, the 1980s can be seen as a decade of elevated inclusion both
in terms of the quantity and quality of roles which remains the norm today. (Tukachinsky, Mastro,
Yarchi, 2015). Over the years, we will see more shows gearing their audiences to the black
community. Producers add in a few social issues to reel viewers in, but the fact remains the same that
a prime time heavy hitting shows, will most likely have less than 20% of their cast of African descent.
In consonance with researchers, blacks currently constitute between 14 17 percent of the prime time
population. (Tukachinsky, Mastro, Yarchi, 2015). The lack of representation in the media can lead to
some interpreting that the Caucasian race is the superior race, and in retrospect, can influence the
attitudes and beliefs of viewers. Prior research has shown that exposure to counter stereotypic

Rolling a cigarette is a skill needed by a big number of smokers around the world. Learning such

The B 25 Mitchell is a plane that was used as a medium bomber during World War II by The Army Air

Children In The Foster Care System
Many children are raised within the foster care system. Children within the foster care system and
vulnerable children are exposed to many different psychosocial hardships that include a wide range of
health problems. Both foster children and vulnerable children are at a higher risk for developing
psychosocial and developmental problems along with educational and behavioral stumbling blocks.
Most children within foster care systems are there due to family risk factors within the home that
include domestic violence, parental mental health disorders, parental substance abuse, and lack of
parental care. The health care pathways for children in foster care are extremely scarce. Children in
the foster care system and other vulnerable children that are in parental care showed many risk factors
associated with their development. Some of these factors were incomplete immunizations, speech
delays, and developmental delays. The methods used within this journal article was based on a study
of children between the ages of birth to eighteen years of age who attended a clinic because their
parents had a substance abuse problem, a mental illness or an intellectual disability. This method also
includes children who were referred by child protection services due to concerns. The study was done

The Mother Of Law Asks The Daughter
In part 6, the mother in law asks, has Nature shown/ her household books to you, daughter in law,/ that
her sons never saw? (Rich 67 69). The tone is argumentative and almost confrontational, but as we
look deeper, the older woman seems also to encourage the younger woman to pursue the idea of
creating her own life outside of her marriage. She seems to be saying, it may be too late for me to
create my own identity separate from my husband, but not yet for you. The mother in law asks the
daughter in law if there is a side to her that her husband has not seen, hinting to the idea that the
daughter in law should keep her own identity rather than exposing every part of herself to her
husband. Rich is addressing the fact that women were not expected to achieve anything besides
marrying and having a family, the typical 1950 s stereotype that many women abided by. But in this
stanza, the Mother In Law is almost hinting that the Daughter In Law still has time to break away
from this stereotype and create her own life and her own identity apart from her husband, an idea that
would have been highly rejected during the post war, baby boom era. Towards the end of the poem,
Rich writes the two lines, only 7 words that truly represent her tone and point in Snapshots of a

obvious aspects of the 1950 s when she writes time is male, meaning that time, as such a vast and

Culture Adoption in Wole Soyinka’s and Tsitsi...
Colonialism versus Origin
Within Wole Soyinka s and Tsitsi Dangarembga s intricately weaved novels, both pieces of literature
successfully intertwine to portray the estrangement and hardships dealt with through the main
characters in settling within a separate environment apart from their origins; culture and adopting the
colonial mentality which is imposed upon them. There is a negative portrayal of the colonial mentality
that manifests onto the African society. There are three major categories within these two texts
displaying the characters that forget that they play these roles within society as puppets of colonialism,
those who rebel against the invading culture that seems to threaten their sense of identity and lastly
those who ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This brings the characters to lose grasp of their origins, which in turn are also losing a large part of
their identities as well. As time progresses, the characters forget that they are playing roles according
to the Colonists whims. This is clearly portrayed through Wole Soyinka s novel. As clearly displayed
within the first act, There is a distinctive culture apart from the British introduced which portrays the
different values and customs that the Africans perform. Amusa whom is an African sergeant in the
native administration police working for the white British colonialists is an example of a puppet of
colonialism turning against the Africans systematic way of life through the adoption of British
customs and values. Though Amusa has converted towards the British Empire, he is still seen as
inferior in Pilking s eyes thus this shows that due to his origin, he will never be valued in the eyes of a
colonist. Amusa fears the Engungun costume yet aids the British in stopping the African rituals, which
deprive the African people of their beliefs. They don t seem to realize that they are harming their own
culture but rather see it as an alien culture once they have fully adopted other methods of practice
through the English culture. Joseph is also a prime example of a character that has taken up a role
within the colonialist society through his acceptance of the catholic religion. Joseph is a convert

Reducing your Personal Energy Use
Reducing your Personal Energy Use
Ever since the human settlements and their population place pressure on the environment through the
increasing demand for water, energy and land, and also through the production of wastes that includes
greenhouse gas emission. These impacts can also be regard as direct, through the use of water, energy,
and land, or indirect, through the production and distribution of goods and services that household

the interesting things are using renewable sources to produce energy at home, choosing the highest
efficient home appliances competitions between the electric appliances industries to come up with the
efficient appliances, recycling products, trying telecommunication for working purposes rather than
going to work and wasting fuel energy. This was an example of how PMI can be a useful creative

Characters In Greasy Lake
T. Coraghessan Boyle s Greasy Lake story is about how a nineteen year old boy and his two greaser

is separated into three different major sections. First introduces the trio as bad characters and couldn t
give a shit about anything, with visions of having a good time . Being bad was the threesome s idea of
having fun. The disastrous night begins at two in the morning, after cruising the strip and closing
down the bars, they decide to drive to one of their favorite hangouts called Greasy Lake. This night at

The constant use of bad character throughout the story does more than just hint that wrongful acts are

not be thrown here. This is the kind of place rough people hang out in. Although all of the beer

restraints have been cited as the reason for delayed implementation. However, the value in pursuing

Clarence s Speech in William Shakespeare s Richard III Essay
Clarence s Speech in William Shakespeare s Richard III
The speech I am going to be examining is from one of Shakespeare s plays, Richard III. It is the part
of the play where George, Duke of Clarence is explaining a prophetic nightmare he had whilst being
locked in the Tower of London.
Richard III was a real king of England, but had been killed in battle, around 100 years prior to when
Shakespeare wrote this play. At the time of writing, in 1594, the queen was Elizabeth I, a Tudor. One
of the Queens ancestors, Henry VII, had killed Richard III on Bosworth Field. Shakespeare, to make
sure he was in favour with the Queen, made Richard s character into a complete villain, as well as

This helps to build up drama and create a vivid picture in the minds of those watching the plays. This
was especially important in the Elizabethan times, as stages had limited scenery and special effects.
The beginning of Clarence s speech is full of warnings and phrases that suggest death. He begins his
speech telling Brackenbury that, in his dream, he thought he had broken from the Tower and was on a
ship to Burgundy with Richard. He says Richard tempted him to walk over the deck. The word
tempted is a word often used when talking of the devil as the devil tries to lure people into sin. When
Clarence uses this word to describe Richard s actions, it is like if Richard is being described as devil
like.
He then says that he and Richard looked towards England, and recalled a thousand heavy times,
during the wars of York and Lancaster, that had befallen us. A thousand is an exaggeration, but it
shows that Clarence is being warned of more bad things to come. This sets the mood of the speech. It
is full of warnings and sentences suggesting bad times.
Clarence says Methought that Gloucester stumbled, and in falling, struck me . This is a forewarning
that Richard is going to cause Clarence to suffer in the future. When Clarence says methought it shows
that he is a bit doubtful as to whether it was an accident or not. He thinks that it was an accident when

Beginnings of Intellectual Property Rights Intellectual property rights will remain a part of
international trade agreements in the future, but the global activity will likely be characterized by

the major enforcement inadequacies in the protection of intellectual property rights: No preliminary or
final injunctive relief, lack of seizure and impoundment relief, lack of exclusion of infringing imports,
lack of compulsory court process and/or discovery, inadequate civil remedies, usually in monetary
dam ages, limits on recoveries preclude deterrent effects, fine or other criminal penalties inadequate,
unreasonably slow enforcement process during which illegal activity continues, enforcement officials
systematically discriminate against foreigners, training and resources for enforcement inadequate,
court decisions biased or political, and corruption. The efforts to protect intellectual property rights
suffer from three major problems: institutional issues, philosophical issues, and handling of new
technologies. The institutional issues refer to the shortcomings of existing regimes and their
enforcement. To begin with, the signatories to specific agreements are limited. Thus, countries that are
not a part of the agreement do not have to subscribe to its provisions. Further, the agreements lack
enforcement powers. In addition, the agreements per se are limited

The Influences Of Mass Media On Society
The Influences of Mass Media on Society
For the greater majority of the American society, the presence of mass media is
a normal part of everyday lives. With the purpose of mass media being to educate,
entertain and inform, the excessive violence, self imaging, and lack of full detail on
world events, is having negative influences and unhealthy impacts on society.
As early as the 1920s, a form of the media has been present in the American society.
Although broadcasted content was limited and not as popular as present day, for
some homes, it was a source of entertainment and information From 1921 to 1924,
there were only 500 licensed media radio stations. By the 1940s (1930 1940), at least
83% of homes possessed a radio (Smith, 2014,paragraph 2 3, Radio: The Internet of

An Explanation Of The Song Astronauts
According to Ryo Mizoguchi the song Astronauts is a late apology to his friend or partner for letting
them down. Based on the lyrics I believe the singer is blaming himself for causing his partner/friend to
leave. The singer then tells himself that if he didn t have so many flaws, then maybe he could still be
with that person. However, he has so many regrets that they pile in his mind and feels that he deserves
to be lonely. Mizoguchi wrote this song to sing to them one last time in an attempt to apologise to
them. In the end he realises he can t get them back so he moves on but he still holds negative feelings
towards himself. The song demonstrates a melancholy and remorseful mood in its lyrics: Believe me
when I say, I try to everyday But my words wouldn t reach you. Hey isn t that strange? I just wish I
could see you, but my legs can t seem to move It s as if they say, You deserve it , I guess that it s true
(58 65) This stanza indicates the singer is sorry for not trying harder for his partner or friend. When he
tried to tell them about his problems he found it strange that he could never explain to them. In the end
that person left him. When he tried to get them back, he couldn t move and watched as they left ...

had left a long time ago. The many ifs that I ask myself are all regrets and words of self loathing.
Astronauts has helped me empty my thoughts as the song had sang for me. The lyrics were words I
had kept hidden for years. I had no outlet to empty out these feelings and this song had done it for me.

Taking a Look at Rheumatoid Arthritis
Rheumatoid arthritis, RA, causes premature mortality, disability and compromised quality of life in
the developed and emerging world (cdc.gov). RA is the most common of chronic inflammatory
arthritis. Rheumatoid arthritis is an autoimmune condition; it is a chronic inflammatory polyarthritis,
in which more than five joints are affected. Rheumatoid arthritis is a systemic inflammatory disease
which it manifests itself in numerous joints of the body. The inflammatory process mainly affects the
lining of the joints, usually small joints then leading to many other organs. Rheumatoid arthritis is a
type of chronic arthritis that occurs in joints on both sides of the body. This symmetry helps
distinguish rheumatoid arthritis from other types of arthritis. Rheumatoid arthritis may also affect the
skin, eyes, lungs, heart, blood, or nerves (webmd.com).
There are subsequent exacerbations in which rheumatoid arthritis develops. First being an abnormal
immune response, this caused inflammation of the synovial membrane. The inflamed synovial
membrane leads to erosions of the cartilage and bone and in some cases joint deformity. Due to
inflammation of the synovial membrane vasodilation, formation of exudate, and increased
permeability; this causes swollen, pained, and red joints. Synovitis cells will proliferate and
inflammation recurs. Synovitis occurs due to immune abnormality. Rheumatoid factor, RF, is an

The Is Not Real And The World
In an ideal world, people would get along and live in peace. Unfortunately, this idea is not real and the
world is full of different forms of hate and discrimination. People are discriminated against based on
various things like race, religion, and sex. The Transgender community faces one of the highest
amounts of discrimination. This includes things like using a public restroom, going to a doctor s
office, insurance coverage, workplace, and traveling. First, utilizing public restrooms are a major
problem for transitioning individuals. In many states, like Kentucky, there have been numerous
attempts to pass laws that would force these individuals to use the bathroom that reflects the gender on
their birth certificate, which usually states the gender assigned at birth. This is a form of
discrimination due to the fact it would single out Trans individuals making them targets. It can be
assumed no one is going to bother a cisgender individual only those, they suspect of being
transgendered. For example, a transwoman who is just a few months into her hormones and has not
received Sexual Reassignment Surgery going into the women s restroom in a Walmart is stopped by
security and asked to prove her identity using her Identification that still says male. She will then be
charged for using the wrong restroom and forced to go to the boys bathroom where she has an

What Ideas About Love and the Past Are Explored in ‘Love...
Throughout Love Songs in Age and Wild Oats, Philip Larkin uses various literary techniques, such as
imagery, structure and symbolism to convey certain aspects of love and the passing of time. These
aspects are illuminated by Dannie Abse in Down the M4.
Love Songs in Age pictures a woman, perhaps Larkin s mother, who has kept the musical scores of
songs she used to play, perhaps on the piano, and rediscovers them after many years, when she is a
widow. In the poem, Larkin uses lexical choice to explore how the idea of love is often distorted and
in reality, love fails to live up to its promises of freshness and brilliance . In the third stanza, the

The imagery conjures thoughts of gorgeous petals, yet we often forget about the prickly stem on
which the rose sits. This word is used in both, the first and third stanzas, to depict the beautiful woman
who the narrator falls in love with. Her beautiful face and body allure him into affection, leading him
to overlook her harsh thorns . Ironically rose also suggests favourable, comfortable, or easy
circumstances, a definition that is the complete opposite of what the unattainable lover instigates in
the narrator s life. The speaker also uses words such as cathedral , ring , and clergy in the second
stanza, to implicitly state that he proposes to the beautiful lover, and is denied many times. In the third
stanza, Larkin s creative use of the word snaps in describing the pictures of his lover he carries
around. Instead of simply calling them pictures or photographs, he substitutes a word that resembles
what the woman in the picture did to his heart! In the last lines of the first stanza the speaker ends with

Forrest Hall Thesis Statement
The Middle Tennessee State University has announced plans to change the name of Forrest Hall,
which honors Nathan Bedford Forrest, a Confederate military leader who went on, for a time, to be a
leader of the Ku Klux Klan. Sidney A. McPhee, president of the university, said he was following the
recommendation of a panel appointed to consider the name of Forrest Hall . I agree with the students
who want to change the name of the Forrest Hall Building on MTSU campus, because I think our
students have the responsibility as those with the power to change this name since we don t want to
our state university to represent something hateful. When MTSU built its ROTC building in 1954,
President Smith named it Forrest Hall in honor of Nathan Bedford Forrest s reputation as an intrepid
confederate cavalry leader who won fame with his brilliant raids. Maybe that was Forrest s reputation
in 1954, but in 2015 Forrest s reputation becomes one of hate, racism, and violence. We do not want
or need that at MTSU . The history department, Dr. Kristine McCusker says I see what they struggle
with, and that building should acknowledge that struggle and not have Nathan Bedford Forrest s name
on it. We want to create a safe environment students. Those students see that this name symbolises
racism and hatred. We have to be proud by every building at MTSU that s why those students need to
change this name. For the students of this campus, I think this is the most unifying decision the
university can make. A quick background on Nathan Bedford Forrest, was a lieutenant general in the
CSAArmy and he was a slave trader, war criminal, and terrorist. Before the civil war, Forrest made a
fortune trading enslaved people during the war, Forrest s men brutalized Union soldiers, most
notable massacring African American union soldiers at Fort Pillow after they surrendered,
and after the war, Forrest became a prominent leader of the first Ku Klus Klan. I don t intend to
debate Forrest as he lived, I do intend to analyse how Forrest has been canonized at MTSU. To
be absolutely clear, there is no direct connection between Forrest and MTSU. Even at the
dedication of Forrest Hall, the only connection that could be made was

What are the challenges in the implementation of ERP system!
Information systems play a vital role in improving the competitiveness of a company. There are many
types of enterprise information software packages which are available in the market since the year of
90s till today (Mandal Gunasekaran, 2003). Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) is one of them. Due
to intense competition around the world, many of the manufacturing company had decided to

Big bang and the phased in approach are the two general approaches to achieve this objective. The big
bang method is known to be more ambitious and risky of the other two. Most organizations are using
this approach to change the operations of their outdated system to the latest system which in one event
implements the ERP system throughout the entire company. This particular method had certain
advantages, where it has been linked to few system failures. This is because during the
implementation of ERP system is going on, on day one of implementing, the employees of the
organization will not have the capability to understand the new system. Therefore, it brings the feeling
to the employees like learning a new job. In many cases, most companies would not have sufficient
knowledge of functionality of the system that they had replace and also because ERP system serves
the entire organization and employees who does data input points will find themselves entering more
data than they used to do previously with the old system. Nevertheless, the main problem with big
bang approach is that the entire company is affected and these problems usually occurred whenever
any new system is implemented. Therefore, the speed of the new system usually suffers and causes the
interruption to day to day activity of the company (Hall, 2007).
Secondly, the phased in approach has issued as a popular alternative. This way is more suitable with

and scientists, doing experiments and making sure the people did not escape. The workers at the
facility referred to the prisoners as Maruta, meaning wooden log. The leader of this operation was
Lieutenant Shiro Ishii. The facility was found out after about six years of being operational. Most of
the people who worked at the facility were sentenced to jail, or were killed. The leader of the
operation was given the worst of the punishments. As well as some going to jail, some were allowed
to go to the U.S. and would be free of all charges. During its use over four hundred people were shot
during experiments. Also at one time rats, which carried the plague, were released in the facility nearly
killing thousands of workers and prisoners. Making these experiments one of the worst operations of

Strengths And Weaknesses Of The Phone Call
Strengths:
Krista executes on the strong intro when she picks up the phone call.
Krista asks the client s questions to find out more about who she is working with and when she
provided the documentation.
Good foreshadow to the hold.
Krista takes ownership by offering to leave a voicemail on the client s behalf, when prompted.
Krista ends the call by thanking the client for calling in.
Opportunities:
Call recording disclosure. Krista discloses the call to the wife when she first picks up. At :17 the wife
says that she will put the phone on speaker so that the husband/client can hear as well. Krista then
addresses the client, however, she does not disclose that the call is being recorded. As a best practice,
when a client advises they are putting the phone on speaker, disclose that the call is being recorded
right away. This is important for legal reasons.
Verification. After the wife explains the reason for her call, Krista asks for the phone # to pull up the
loan. At :58, Krista then asks the husband (the name listed on the account) if he d like to add his wife
as an Okay To Speak With. The husband is not verified before giving authorization for his wife to be
added. Krista then goes on to verify the wife only and shortly after discloses the myql account
information to her. It is important that we verify the client prior to getting permission to speak with
another individual about their account and adding somebody else as an okay to speak

Kids Of Helicopter Parents Are Sputtering Out
Dear Ms. Lythcott Haims, While I was reading your article, Kids of Helicopter Parents Are Sputtering
Out I was given a glimpse of how stressful it must be for students who have helicopter parents. Being
what you would call a free ranger myself, I had no problems with parental interference when it came
to my studies. In this letter to you I will strive to point out the strongest and weakest parts of your
article. You are able to use pathos, ethos and logos in several different ways to get your point across.
From what I could tell, the purpose of your article Kids of Helicopter Parents Are Sputtering Out was
to inform parents of the dangers helicopter parenting has on college student s mental health as well as
how it affects them in the long run. To summarize, College students who have helicopter parents lack
life skills which include effective decision making and problem solving. These students lack the
ability to interact properly with others also they lack emotional and intellectual freedom along with
executive functions. Additionally, they are unable to cope with any negative feelings and new
experiences and haven t been able to build resilience in these areas. Without these abilities they aren t
able to be a self sufficient adult or make any decision without involving their parent. The reference
material you use indicates helicopter parenting causes depression and anxiety and makes them unable
to have confidence in their own abilities which can also make them have

Pulgas Ridge Research Papers
While hikers and dog walkers may have territorial and philosophical conflicts in some locations,
Pulgas Ridge Open Space Preserve seems to comfortably accommodate both groups in a small park
with ridge top views, cool canyons, and streamside thickets, mixed oak woodland, chaparral, and
abundant wildflowers. Dog walkers are provided with a large off leash area where their canine
companions can romp unimpeded; hikers have access to interesting trails that see few dogs or other
hikers. Pulgas Ridge is a 366 acre parcel that is part of the Mid peninsula Regional Open Space
District. In a previous incarnation, it was the site of the Hassler Health Farm, a tuberculosis sanitarium
built and owned by the City of San Francisco beginning in 1927, but closed in 1964. The land was
purchased by the District in 1983. By 1985, the old sanitarium buildings were demolished, ... Show

If you like, you can add to your hike by taking the Geraci trail east on its one mile journey back to
where it branched off from the Woodrat trail. You have two other choices as well. If you have a well
socialized dog you may want to head straight down the hill into the off leash area. For hikers, the best
option is to take the Dick Bishop trail immediately to the right. The little used Dick Bishop trail winds
downhill for .7 mile along the upper side of a canyon, starting in chaparral and ending among the
coastal live oaks, blue oaks, and madrone. Edgewood County Park is the open space you view across
the canyon to the south. Edgewood Park and Pulgas have similar topography, and are basically
composed of weathered sandstone, but the formations are different: the Edgewood stone is Franciscan
greywacke and serpentine rock, while Pulgas is from the Whisky Hill formation, which results in a
few different wildflowers in the two

Analysis of Some of the Benefits of Study Abroad Essay
In 20th century, due to modern development in the field of science, history and technology, the people
are interacting with each other through satellite and internet. It has now become a necessary for all
governments to collaborate with each other in all sectors of life either related to the business or the
education. It can be done only through the exchange of the language, culture, and traditions (Caffarella
Daffron, 2013). The Middle East is an important location of the world because of the tremendous
energy resources like the oil, gas etc. After the tragic incident of 9/11, now the European countries are

The international policy makers and education experts consider the global student exchange program
best for the internationalization (Daly Barker, 2010).
Categories of the Students in Jordan University: The international students that are studying in the
University of Jordan belong to three different groups. The first group is for those who are associated
with the International Institute of Teaching Arabic to Speakers of Other Languages (II TASOL) on the
base of scholarships. This scholarship study duration varies from months to years (Jabbar, 2012, p.
206). The Students can get hostel accommodation in the city of Amman. The second group is
associated with the non government organization, CIEE that is Council on International Education

Picture Book Analysis Essay
Picture Books Importance on a Child s Development Ever analyzed a picture book before? The colors,
shapes, and underlying message on every inch of the page create a story. A story that makes your brain
tick and contemplate what exactly you re looking at. These things are significant to the constant
development of a human being, but the specifically to a child. When I was young I would drown my
floor with Dr. Seuss and books that gave excitement to me just by holding them. I loved looking at the
pictures, the endless rhymes, and magical color schemes because I had no other outlet than books to
reach in a grab my attention the way they could. That s why picture books are almost a necessity to a
child s development. The type of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
On TV you only see what the media wants you to, but with books the possibilities are boundless
leaving you to take the story for what it s worth and run with it, all the while drawing your own
conclusions. For example, in my house, I would read books and then dart to my parents telling them
about what I just read and what it meant to me, or even how I saw the characters in my own mind. It s
amazing the things you can find out about yourself when you think and create on your own instead of
having someone do it for you. I appreciate those who gave me books, read to me out loud, or handed
me pens to doodle with because if I wasn t given the opportunities to explore I probably wouldn t be
the same person today. Even a kindergartener deserves that type of freedom and I feel picture books
are a great outlet for it. So you see, pictures, even in books help minds to develop each time you take a
glance at them. You gain that freedom in your mind and can grow and expand to photography,
galleries, museums, and even creations of your own personal art... the possibilities seem endless. I
would conclude that picture books are helpful to people of all ages, especially the minds of children.
Will you ever look at books the same

Effects Of The Great Pacific Garbage Patch On The Ocean s...
The Effect of the Great Pacific Garbage Patch on the Ocean s Plankton and Algae
Introduction:
The Great Pacific Garbage Patch is the effect of the human population s waste. The Great Pacific
Garbage Patch is a collection of trash floating in the ocean where there is a high density of garbage
because of the Pacific Gyre. Though their name suggests rafts of bobbing refuse, the patches are
instead areas with high concentrations of trash mostly wee bits of plastic particles that have degraded
from larger pieces of litter such as water bottles. The bits amass within ocean vortices, driven by wind
and ocean currents. ( Mole) The types of waste found in the garbage patch are micro plastics and
macro plastics. Macro plastics can range from ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The chemicals that leak from the plastics can affect the organisms that live in our ocean. Our study
aims at evaluating the effects of 40 nm PS anionic carboxylate (PS COOH) and 50 nm cationic amino
modified (PS NH 2) NPs in two planktonic species, the green microalga Dunaliella tertiolecta and the
brine shrimp Artemia franciscana , respectively prey and predator. PS NP behavior in exposure media
was determined through DLS, while their toxicity to microalgae and brine shrimps evaluated through
72 h growth inhibition test and 14 d long term toxicity test respectively. Moreover, the expression of
target genes (i.e. clap and cstb), having a role in brine shrimp larval growth and molting, was
measured in 48 h brine shrimp larvae. A different behavior of the two PS NPs in exposure media as
well as diverse toxicity to the two planktonic species was observed. PS COOH formed micro scale
aggregates (Z Average 1 μm) and did not affect the growth of microalgae up to 50 μg/ml or that of
brine shrimps up to 10 μg/ml. However, these negatively charged NPs were adsorbed

Dr. Louis Pasteur s Rabies Analysis
Dr. Louis Pasteur was a forward thinking individual who made numerous contributions to society in
regards to health care advancement; additionally, he was well known for his work with rabies, and
specifically, healing a child who had contracted rabies. The story in this week s reading speaks of a
radical experiment where Dr. Pasteur took the spinal cord from dogs who had died from rabies and
injected them into the child (Daempfle, 2016). Although this treatment had proven effective at curing
rabies in animals it was not proven to work on humans. With nothing to lose Dr. Pasteur injected the
untested vaccine into the child who survived the night, also, after injections for three months the child
was cured of rabies. Consequently, the child survival was groundbreaking, but how did the process
work? ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Pasteur process was to take the spinal remains of infected animals and lessened the virality of the
rhabdovirus to almost nonexistent by dehydrating them (Louis Pasteur, 2017). Furthermore, the
dehydrated spinal cord provided a neutralized source of rabies via antibody proteins that are able to
attach to the rabies antigen (Antibody, 2017). Also, known as B lymphocytes (B cells) these antibodies
reproduce countless exact replicas that move throughout the body. This provided the child s system
with antibodies that already recognized the rhabdovirus, and allowed them to affix and neutralize the
virus. Through numerous injections, Dr. Pasteur s inactivated vaccine restrained rabies from wreaking
havoc on the child s nervous system (Louis Pasteur, 2017). Whereas, this is how the vaccine worked
in our story, is it the same process

The Language Of The English Language
The language we speak defines our true identity and who we are. Living in a country where the main
language is English, the Spanish I grew up speaking seem to be conquered by the English language.
Many of us who are bilingual come from a place in where English is not our main and faced many
obstacles to learning the language, but it seems that when we learn the language we tend to speak
English more than our native tongue. Authors like Gloria Anzaldua and Amy Tan had connected to us
the readers in such personal ways where we start to see connections. Gloria Anzaldua explains in her
essay How to Tame a Wild Tongue , how her tongue was not free until she was able to switch from
Spanish to English whenever she wanted to speak with someone or write in both languages.
Additionally, she explores the meaning of Anglicism in her piece which its significant to me because I
come from a background where most, if not all of my family and friends who grew up in the
Dominican Republic and the United States tend to use these words. Amy Tan s essay Mother Tongue ,
connects to many of us whose English is their second language, especially if one s coming from a
different country than the USA. As well as to how we need to be there to assist our parents whenever
they need our help with the English language. These authors show us how the language we speak
some way or another defines our true identity and who we are.
Growing up in a place where I did not know the language was very difficult

  • 2. Analysis Of The Statue Of Liberty The Statue of Liberty was first thought of in 1865 by Professor Edouard de Laboulaye in France as a monument of Americas newly founded freedom. It was mentioned at a dinner party where the Sculptor of the statue Frederic Auguste Bartholdi was to design. This monument is over 100 years old, stands at 305 feet, and has a total weight of 225 tons and as you can imagine the building of this massive statue took many different materials, a lot of site planning, and over two decades to complete it. Many materials were used in building the Statue of Liberty. These materials are concrete for the base of the statue, Copper for the exterior of the statue, wrought iron for the bars that would hold the copper in place, glass for the windows in the crown, and then steel for the inside skeletal framework. In this statue there is 31 tons of copper, and 125 tons in the framework, because of this much work went into determining what materials were going to be used to build the statue. The reasons they had to put so much work into determining what materials they were going to use is because they came to an agreement with America. America was building the base while the statue itself would be built in France then shipped to America and assembled there. Since they came to this agreement the statue would have to be shipped from France to America and if the statue was too heavy the boat would have obviously sunk. So they thought of many materials they could use such as bronze and stone until they ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Mantra To Overcome Depression Analysis VILLACORTA, Louise STYLISTICS L85 Dr. Miciano I. Intoduction Stylistics is a form of text analysis that uses the rules of language and devices of thought to deepened meaning that has been understood from the piece. (Ogunsiji, 2012) Through this, if one analyses using literary theories; the work could be furthered using stylistical theories. This paper will be discussing Sierra DeMulder s poem Mantra To Overcome Depression using different stylistical aspects. The first aspect that will be discussed is verbs, as the poem contains 29 sentences; 17 of which start with a verb. Verbs are classified into two categories; transitive and intransitive verbs. • 4. Based on the table above, one can already see that there are more transitive verbs than intransitive. Of the stated 23 verbs and verb phrases, 17 are transitive. As verbs are heavily foregrounded in this piece, the importance of action is only furthered by the transitive vs intransitive analysis. This gives the implication that the main technique of overcoming depression is purposeful and deliberate ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. The Path Of An Instructional Designer Because When I joined the United State Air Force in 2004, I quickly learned how easy it is to pass the blame. I noticed early in my military career, that broken processes were often ignored. Meanwhile, the person at the tactical level of the process was blamed for the result. After all the punishments are dealt out, new employees are assigned to the project, and all the smoke clears, the same problems seem to persist. When I suspect a process is inefficient, I feel a strong urge to find out why these issues exist and then find solutions. This is often a pursuit that puts me at odds with some supervisors, but cherished by some subordinates. It s not hard for me to recognize that most employees want to excel at their jobs. Unfortunately, their ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Teaching students to work on the B 52 aircraft in Minot, North Dakota during the dead of winter bears some unique challenges. It takes a strong leadership ability to motivate students to perform hands on task while enduring 30 degree below zero temperatures. In the Air Force s Non Commissioned Officer Academy (NCOA) I was awarded the Distinguished Graduate for displaying that level of leadership. I feel that underneath all the positional authorities of leadership, the true test is the ability to empower people. This is the reason why I want to not only learn how to use technology in an education setting; I also want to improve the lives of students with leadership. I believe that the educational technology leadership program at George Washington University is the only program that perfectly meshes the two together. In my opinion, human performance is the key to learning. However, it seems as though education sometimes focuses on the information that needs to be taught instead of the outcomes. Dr. Watkins publication highlighted this theory in previous work by Robert Mager. Watkins (2010) stated instructional designers should move beyond determining what instructors should teach; rather, they should focus on understanding what learners should be able to do as a result of the instruction. Technology can serve as an excellent starting point for student centered learning. Technology and leadership are the two elements that draw me to this program. There are ... Psychotherapy For Dissociative Identity Disorder Dissociative Identity Disorder, commonly known as Multiple Personality Disorder, is characterized by an involuntary escape from reality characterized by a disconnection between thoughts, identity, consciousness, and memory (Dissociative). An example of mild everyday dissociation is when you are given a list to accomplish throughout the day, but forget some along the way. The dissociation experienced in MPD is more involved in the long term memory. Symptoms are the reaction of enduring a traumatic event, commonly expressed in abuse and military combat. The methodical movement of my bat and the sound of the breeze it makes, was calming to me. My mind was blank as I was just going through my on deck routine. But like always, a few thoughts slipped in. You are going to strike out again, for the third time, my mind told me, You are going to let the whole team down, and lose the game. The championship game. I battled the little devil me on my left shoulder, who was feeding my brain these awful thoughts, by repeating an encouraging phrase. You got this Ashley, you got this Ashley. Running faster than the speed of light and kicking up mounds of dirt along the way, I make it to third base. After my hit, my team was inspired. We played harder than ever before, making some unbelievable plays while we were at it. At the end of the game, we came out on top, winning the state championship. On the ride home, I felt a sense of relief and peace. I was exhausted but felt like I was on Cloud 9, especially when I looked at the huge ring I had received. • 8. Support Language Development There are many factors which can aid language development, particularly through writing (Watts et al., 2013). Jones and Coffey (2013) identified that writing should be developed procedurally through copying, initially at word level to learn spellings and develop familiarisation with vocabulary and individual letters. Before then progressing to phrase level and on to sentences. It is thought that through copying the children are beginning to memorise the vocabulary and can help them to engrain key sentence structures, as they pay close attention to the individual words and spellings. Macaro (2006) has also identified that copy writing is often used as a way of remembering spellings for new target vocabulary. This is a very difficult task especially in a foreign language with differing word structures and sentence conventions. Another criticism of copy writing is that children often make assumptions that copy writing is easy which means they do not necessarily pay full attention, meaning they make careless mistakes which result in the little recall of the vocabulary (Macaro, 2006). Alternative activities such as word searches, crosswords and gap filling exercises, as outlined by Kirsch (2008), encourage the children to focus on each individual letter, which thus supports the memorisation of their spellings. It also encourages the ability to identify common grammatical structures and raises phonetic awareness. It is important for children to improve their phonetic awareness when learning to write in a foreign language alongside being allowed to make mistakes without fear of second language anxiety, as outlined by Levine ... Along with these factors, I think that the huge differences in cultural backgrounds and points of view between the various countries involves also contributed to the Seven Years War. In the seventeenth century, the colonies were becoming over run by various, very different immigrant groups (Davidson, 2006). Famine, warfare, and religious persecution forced most of the non English groups to leave from their homes in Europe and go to the American colonies. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The conflict between the superpowers for the control of the continent began the Seven Years War. Most people put the beginning of the Seven Years War in the 1754, but it actually occurred from 1756 to 1763. In the Seven Years War, France, and Great Britain struggled to control eastern North America (Davidson, 2006). The area between the Mississippi River and the Appalachian mountain range was contested, as both nations claimed it. When the British won the Seven Years War, their colonial holdings doubled in size and they gained control of North America. Conflicts over trading rights and the control of the Ohio country was the primary cause of the French and the Indian War (Davidson, 2006). British control over North America and the Seven Years War led to many issues and problems as the British struggled to maintain their supremacy. The French came out behind in each of these struggles, they lost position as highest colonial power for the next generation, their position would not be restored until French Revolution of the 1970 s. We are always taught to appreciate the little things in life; the things that don t seem to have much of significance at first but end up meaning the world to us. Kurtz is one of these characters. Kurtz is introduced towards the end of the story but he has an affect on the action, the theme and the other characters development even when he isn t present. She accepts, however, thinking that women are made to be subject to men s governance. The mother of the sultan (the sultana), however, learned of his intentions to convert, and sent for her own council. Analysis: The Man of Law s Tale exalts the sacrifice and honor of Constance, the daughter of the Roman emperor who will suffer a number of injustices during the years over which the story takes place. It is an overtly religious tale that does not even reach for the subtlety of allegory. Constance depends on her religious faith for her survival throughout a number of events in the story, while those characters who do not share her Christian faith are uniformly evil, whether pagan or Muslim. The tale takes a narrow view of humanity in which Christianity represents unadulterated purity and any other religious tradition is pure evil. Children within the foster care system and vulnerable children are exposed to many different psychosocial hardships that include a wide range of health problems. Both foster children and vulnerable children are at a higher risk for developing psychosocial and developmental problems along with educational and behavioral stumbling blocks. Most children within foster care systems are there due to family risk factors within the home that include domestic violence, parental mental health disorders, parental substance abuse, and lack of parental care. The health care pathways for children in foster care are extremely scarce. Children in the foster care system and other vulnerable children that are in parental care showed many risk factors associated with their development. Some of these factors were incomplete immunizations, speech delays, and developmental delays. The methods used within this journal article was based on a study of children between the ages of birth to eighteen years of age who attended a clinic because their parents had a substance abuse problem, a mental illness or an intellectual disability. This method also includes children who were referred by child protection services due to concerns. The study was done within a 12 month period from December 2007 through December 2008. • 20. The Mother Of Law Asks The Daughter In part 6, the mother in law asks, has Nature shown/ her household books to you, daughter in law,/ that her sons never saw? (Rich 67 69). The tone is argumentative and almost confrontational, but as we look deeper, the older woman seems also to encourage the younger woman to pursue the idea of creating her own life outside of her marriage. She seems to be saying, it may be too late for me to create my own identity separate from my husband, but not yet for you. The mother in law asks the daughter in law if there is a side to her that her husband has not seen, hinting to the idea that the daughter in law should keep her own identity rather than exposing every part of herself to her husband. Rich is addressing the fact that women were not expected to achieve anything besides marrying and having a family, the typical 1950 s stereotype that many women abided by. But in this stanza, the Mother In Law is almost hinting that the Daughter In Law still has time to break away from this stereotype and create her own life and her own identity apart from her husband, an idea that would have been highly rejected during the post war, baby boom era. Towards the end of the poem, Rich writes the two lines, only 7 words that truly represent her tone and point in Snapshots of a Daughter In Law : Sigh no more, ladies./Time is male (Rich 93 94). Forrest Hall Thesis Statement The Middle Tennessee State University has announced plans to change the name of Forrest Hall, which honors Nathan Bedford Forrest, a Confederate military leader who went on, for a time, to be a leader of the Ku Klux Klan. Sidney A. McPhee, president of the university, said he was following the recommendation of a panel appointed to consider the name of Forrest Hall . I agree with the students who want to change the name of the Forrest Hall Building on MTSU campus, because I think our students have the responsibility as those with the power to change this name since we don t want to our state university to represent something hateful. When MTSU built its ROTC building in 1954, President Smith named it Forrest Hall in honor of Nathan Bedford Forrest s reputation as an intrepid confederate cavalry leader who won fame with his brilliant raids. Maybe that was Forrest s reputation in 1954, but in 2015 Forrest s reputation becomes one of hate, racism, and violence. We do not want or need that at MTSU . The history department, Dr. Kristine McCusker says I see what they struggle with, and that building should acknowledge that struggle and not have Nathan Bedford Forrest s name on it. We want to create a safe environment students. Those students see that this name symbolises racism and hatred. We have to be proud by every building at MTSU that s why those students need to change this name. For the students of this campus, I think this is the most unifying decision the university can make. A quick background on Nathan Bedford Forrest, was a lieutenant general in the CSAArmy and he was a slave trader, war criminal, and terrorist. Before the civil war, Forrest made a fortune trading enslaved people during the war, Forrest s men brutalized Union soldiers, most notable massacring African American union soldiers at Fort Pillow after they surrendered, and after the war, Forrest became a prominent leader of the first Ku Klus Klan. I don t intend to debate Forrest as he lived, I do intend to analyse how Forrest has been canonized at MTSU. To be absolutely clear, there is no direct connection between Forrest and MTSU. Even at the dedication of Forrest Hall, the only connection that could be made was ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 39. What Are the Challenges in the Implementation of Erp System! What are the challenges in the implementation of ERP system! Information systems play a vital role in improving the competitiveness of a company. There are many types of enterprise information software packages which are available in the market since the year of 90s till today (Mandal Gunasekaran, 2003). Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) is one of them. Due to intense competition around the world, many of the manufacturing company had decided to implement ERP. It assures one application, one database and is possible to unified interface across the entire organization. Many companies had not abstained from investing a large amount of money on ERP system, though the ERP implementation had high failure rate and well publicized (Ehie ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Big bang and the phased in approach are the two general approaches to achieve this objective. The big bang method is known to be more ambitious and risky of the other two. Most organizations are using this approach to change the operations of their outdated system to the latest system which in one event implements the ERP system throughout the entire company. This particular method had certain advantages, where it has been linked to few system failures. This is because during the implementation of ERP system is going on, on day one of implementing, the employees of the organization will not have the capability to understand the new system. Therefore, it brings the feeling to the employees like learning a new job. In many cases, most companies would not have sufficient knowledge of functionality of the system that they had replace and also because ERP system serves the entire organization and employees who does data input points will find themselves entering more data than they used to do previously with the old system. Nevertheless, the main problem with big bang approach is that the entire company is affected and these problems usually occurred whenever any new system is implemented. Therefore, the speed of the new system usually suffers and causes the interruption to day to day activity of the company (Hall, 2007). Secondly, the phased in approach has issued as a popular alternative. This way is more suitable with the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

These actions were done without consent of the government and were done in secret. The operation was also accepted by the medical schools and universities around Japan who supplied the doctors and scientists. At the facility there were about three thousand workers, doctors and scientists, doing experiments and making sure the people did not escape. The workers at the facility referred to the prisoners as Maruta, meaning wooden log. The leader of this operation was Lieutenant Shiro Ishii. The facility was found out after about six years of being operational. Most of the people who worked at the facility were sentenced to jail, or were killed. The leader of the operation was given the worst of the punishments. As well as some going to jail, some were allowed to go to the U.S. and would be free of all charges. During its use over four hundred people were shot during experiments. Also at one time rats, which carried the plague, were released in the facility nearly killing thousands of workers and prisoners. Kids Of Helicopter Parents Are Sputtering Out Dear Ms. Lythcott Haims, While I was reading your article, Kids of Helicopter Parents Are Sputtering Out I was given a glimpse of how stressful it must be for students who have helicopter parents. Being what you would call a free ranger myself, I had no problems with parental interference when it came to my studies. In this letter to you I will strive to point out the strongest and weakest parts of your article. You are able to use pathos, ethos and logos in several different ways to get your point across. From what I could tell, the purpose of your article Kids of Helicopter Parents Are Sputtering Out was to inform parents of the dangers helicopter parenting has on college student s mental health as well as how it affects them in the long run. To summarize, College students who have helicopter parents lack life skills which include effective decision making and problem solving. These students lack the ability to interact properly with others also they lack emotional and intellectual freedom along with executive functions. Additionally, they are unable to cope with any negative feelings and new experiences and haven t been able to build resilience in these areas. Without these abilities they aren t able to be a self sufficient adult or make any decision without involving their parent. The reference material you use indicates helicopter parenting causes depression and anxiety and makes them unable to have confidence in their own abilities which can also make them have ... The colors, shapes, and underlying message on every inch of the page create a story. A story that makes your brain tick and contemplate what exactly you re looking at. These things are significant to the constant development of a human being, but the specifically to a child. When I was young I would drown my floor with Dr. Seuss and books that gave excitement to me just by holding them. I loved looking at the pictures, the endless rhymes, and magical color schemes because I had no other outlet than books to reach in a grab my attention the way they could. That s why picture books are almost a necessity to a child s development. The type of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... On TV you only see what the media wants you to, but with books the possibilities are boundless leaving you to take the story for what it s worth and run with it, all the while drawing your own conclusions. For example, in my house, I would read books and then dart to my parents telling them about what I just read and what it meant to me, or even how I saw the characters in my own mind. It s amazing the things you can find out about yourself when you think and create on your own instead of having someone do it for you. I appreciate those who gave me books, read to me out loud, or handed me pens to doodle with because if I wasn t given the opportunities to explore I probably wouldn t be the same person today. Even a kindergartener deserves that type of freedom and I feel picture books are a great outlet for it. So you see, pictures, even in books help minds to develop each time you take a glance at them. You gain that freedom in your mind and can grow and expand to photography, galleries, museums, and even creations of your own personal art... the possibilities seem endless. I would conclude that picture books are helpful to people of all ages, especially the minds of children. Will you ever look at books the same ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Effect of the Great Pacific Garbage Patch on the Ocean s Plankton and Algae Introduction: The Great Pacific Garbage Patch is the effect of the human population s waste. The Great Pacific Garbage Patch is a collection of trash floating in the ocean where there is a high density of garbage because of the Pacific Gyre. Though their name suggests rafts of bobbing refuse, the patches are instead areas with high concentrations of trash mostly wee bits of plastic particles that have degraded from larger pieces of litter such as water bottles. The bits amass within ocean vortices, driven by wind and ocean currents. ( Mole) The types of waste found in the garbage patch are micro plastics and macro plastics. Macro plastics can range from ... PS NP behavior in exposure media was determined through DLS, while their toxicity to microalgae and brine shrimps evaluated through 72 h growth inhibition test and 14 d long term toxicity test respectively. Moreover, the expression of target genes (i.e. clap and cstb), having a role in brine shrimp larval growth and molting, was measured in 48 h brine shrimp larvae. A different behavior of the two PS NPs in exposure media as well as diverse toxicity to the two planktonic species was observed. Although this treatment had proven effective at curing rabies in animals it was not proven to work on humans. Also, known as B lymphocytes (B cells) these antibodies reproduce countless exact replicas that move throughout the body. This provided the child s system with antibodies that already recognized the rhabdovirus, and allowed them to affix and neutralize the virus. Living in a country where the main language is English, the Spanish I grew up speaking seem to be conquered by the English language. Many of us who are bilingual come from a place in where English is not our main and faced many obstacles to learning the language, but it seems that when we learn the language we tend to speak English more than our native tongue. Authors like Gloria Anzaldua and Amy Tan had connected to us the readers in such personal ways where we start to see connections. Gloria Anzaldua explains in her essay How to Tame a Wild Tongue , how her tongue was not free until she was able to switch from Spanish to English whenever she wanted to speak with someone or write in both languages. Additionally, she explores the meaning of Anglicism in her piece which its significant to me because I come from a background where most, if not all of my family and friends who grew up in the Dominican Republic and the United States tend to use these words.
