It explains what Twitter is, how it works through features like tweets, follows, direct messages, retweets and hashtags. It recommends using Twitter to connect with an audience and achieve goals like branding, messaging, feedback and calls to action. The document advises acting as a connector rather than just a broadcaster by engaging in balanced interactions. The 5-Minute SEO Playbook (Mom 2.0 Summit 2016)Timothy Resnik
SEO is not Magic, and you can do it! Many content creators struggle with SEO and end up paying someone to do something they could do themselves. This session will be half pep talk and half practical guide to doing some more advanced SEO tactics on your own.
How to Rock Your Social Media EngagementEric Metelka
What is the right way to engage your audience on different platforms? How often should you be posting new content? How does the Google+ algorithm work? With interactive case studies, we'll explore how your startup can maximize its exposure on each social media platform you post on. If you want to go deep on Facebook, twitter, LinkedIn, Google+, and Pinterest, this class is for you.
The Tools to Unlock Social Media AnalyticsEric Metelka
How can your early stage startup measure the return on a successful social media strategy?
Are you using number of followers as a success metric? Do you know how to measure share of voice? With interactive case studies, we'll explore how your startup can take measurement beyond vanity metrics using the same ROI strategy large brands use. If you don't know what metrics to measure and want to know if social media is worth your time, this class is for you.
Kick Your Social Strategy Into Overdrive: The Ins & Outs of Testing SocialJennifer Lopez
How do you ensure that your social strategy is on the right path? By measuring, of course! In this session, you'll see how to use the data you already have to continually test and improve your social strategy. You can't count on industry stats to work for your community, so you must test, test, and then re-test to make social work for you.
Here are the slides from the Kerboo webinar I delivered on content promotion for SEO benefit and link building. The deck covers tactics for promoting your content specifically with link acquisition in mind.
Link building in 2021 (when you're a bit crap at PR) #brightonseoStacey MacNaught
You do not have to be a PR expert to build links and be successful in SEO. Here's my #brightonseo Spring 2021 deck on building links in 2021 without cold emailing journalists.
I'm sharing a few practical ways we're acquiring links without cold emailing journos. Some of this may lack a bit of context without the talk recording... but, as ever, feel free to get in touch with questions!
Connecting with Your Audience on Social MediaDevon Smith
For some of your organizations [at the Alaska State Arts Commission Conference], a Facebook Page is your sole digital presence. A few of you have ventured into Instagram and Twitter. Others might be looking for new ideas and more effective approaches for selling tickets using social media. I'll discuss how to use social media to build meaningful relationships with your audience, what content tends to perform best in each channel, share practical tips and tools for the day-to-day management of your social accounts, and dip into how best to measure your effort and results on social networks.
Inbound PR - Building Links with Less Cold OutreachStacey MacNaught
Producing content and pitching it to journalists to build links is getting harder all the time. Digital PR and outreach professionals are experiencing their job becoming more competitive and more difficult.
But there are ways to win press links using the things you already have in your business (as opposed to creating big content pieces). You've got product or service, expertise and stories. And in my BrightonSEO talk in September 2021, I talked about how we use media enquiry services like HARO, ResponseSource and others to earn links, build credibility with journalists and ultimately get to a point where journalists are coming to us with requests.

On our way to redesign healthcare from curative to preventive we will encounter smart ways to tap into our biological code, we will be surrounded by invisible sensors like guardian angels, and we will be connected with coaching avatars. But smart technologies and the data they generate, are just a tool. When not trusted by the established care provider, when not integrated and available in a personal data platform, healthcare will only be pseudo modernized.
The real magic happens when these tools allow you to engage and change behavior. But even in a rapidly automating world, we can't automate empathy. Or can we?

Epistemic Interaction - tuning interfaces to provide information for AI supportAlan Dix
Paper presented at SYNERGY workshop at AVI 2024, Genoa, Italy. 3rd June 2024
https://alandix.com/academic/papers/synergy2024-epistemic/
As machine learning integrates deeper into human-computer interactions, the concept of epistemic interaction emerges, aiming to refine these interactions to enhance system adaptability. This approach encourages minor, intentional adjustments in user behaviour to enrich the data available for system learning. This paper introduces epistemic interaction within the context of human-system communication, illustrating how deliberate interaction design can improve system understanding and adaptation. Through concrete examples, we demonstrate the potential of epistemic interaction to significantly advance human-computer interaction by leveraging intuitive human communication strategies to inform system design and functionality, offering a novel pathway for enriching user-system engagements.

Effective Application Security in Software Delivery lifecycle using Deployment Firewall and DBOM
The modern software delivery process (or the CI/CD process) includes many tools, distributed teams, open-source code, and cloud platforms. Constant focus on speed to release software to market, along with the traditional slow and manual security checks has caused gaps in continuous security as an important piece in the software supply chain. Today organizations feel more susceptible to external and internal cyber threats due to the vast attack surface in their applications supply chain and the lack of end-to-end governance and risk management.
The software team must secure its software delivery process to avoid vulnerability and security breaches. This needs to be achieved with existing tool chains and without extensive rework of the delivery processes. This talk will present strategies and techniques for providing visibility into the true risk of the existing vulnerabilities, preventing the introduction of security issues in the software, resolving vulnerabilities in production environments quickly, and capturing the deployment bill of materials (DBOM).
Speakers:
Bob Boule
Robert Boule is a technology enthusiast with PASSION for technology and making things work along with a knack for helping others understand how things work. He comes with around 20 years of solution engineering experience in application security, software continuous delivery, and SaaS platforms. He is known for his dynamic presentations in CI/CD and application security integrated in software delivery lifecycle.
Gopinath Rebala
Gopinath Rebala is the CTO of OpsMx, where he has overall responsibility for the machine learning and data processing architectures for Secure Software Delivery. Gopi also has a strong connection with our customers, leading design and architecture for strategic implementations. Gopi is a frequent speaker and well-known leader in continuous delivery and integrating security into software delivery.
Search and Society: Reimagining Information Access for Radical FuturesBhaskar Mitra
The field of Information retrieval (IR) is currently undergoing a transformative shift, at least partly due to the emerging applications of generative AI to information access. In this talk, we will deliberate on the sociotechnical implications of generative AI for information access. We will argue that there is both a critical necessity and an exciting opportunity for the IR community to re-center our research agendas on societal needs while dismantling the artificial separation between the work on fairness, accountability, transparency, and ethics in IR and the rest of IR research. Instead of adopting a reactionary strategy of trying to mitigate potential social harms from emerging technologies, the community should aim to proactively set the research agenda for the kinds of systems we should build inspired by diverse explicitly stated sociotechnical imaginaries. The sociotechnical imaginaries that underpin the design and development of information access technologies needs to be explicitly articulated, and we need to develop theories of change in context of these diverse perspectives. Our guiding future imaginaries must be informed by other academic fields, such as democratic theory and critical theory, and should be co-developed with social science scholars, legal scholars, civil rights and social justice activists, and artists, among others.
