How Did The Jamestown Colonies Lead To The Failure Of The...
Adventure, promises of wealth, and an opportunity to a new life were some of the many reasons which
attracted settlers to the Americas. However, what the new settlers did not know were the many
challenges and tragedies this new life entailed. Despite all, the colonists of Jamestown would
encounter the difficulties of starting a new colony in a foreign new land. The life these settlers found
was nothing like they expected. Their hopes for wealth and a new beginning were soon replaced with
death and misery. The colonies of the Americas can be seen as a failure because European settlers
would come to experience the horrors that the New World would give them including famine and
diseases.
Before even being constructed, colonies had already been set for failure as many colonists did not
properly prepare for the journey. Many did not have enough supplies to sustain a stable colony and
prevent its people from starving. In a letter that Richard Frethorne wrote to his parents he portrays the
poor nourishment settlers received when he says ...for since I came out of the ship I never ate anything
but peas, and loblollie. Lack of agricultural, geographical, and survival knowledge and the fact of
being in a new land prevented settlers from successfully growing crops and maintaining a steady food
supply to their colonies. Jamestown, was a settlement which was greatly impacted by the failure of
gathering food for its settlers. The colonists of Jamestown were mainly dying off of famine

At the phase of full development, when the business sector has been soaked and when the brand name
has taken a decent footing. The most convincing reason is for development and cost cutting. For
instance we can say that, a TV maker will see the advantages of moving their creation base to where
there is shabby work, working costs, wellsprings of crude material, and extensive business sector
interest for the item. In addition there will be much cost investment funds as far as generation expense,
and transportation cost, which is turning out to be progressively costly because of the spikes in the
cost of fuel oil. In nature and the segments for the business to advantage and increase, then this player

The way that Multinational corporation have summoned premium valuations over their Indian

result of the prevalent nature of these organizations. In any case, a major opening has been exhausted
over this contention as of late. This is on account of the promoters of a considerable measure of these

Examples Of Ignorance In Fahrenheit 451
In the novel Fahrenheit 451 by Ray bradbury, Bradbury shows that behind the destructive fire and the
burning of books, citizens believe that the key to happiness is ignorance. In the story, the citizens of
the dystopia don t question what is hidden from them, but the main character of the story ponders what
he is told and discovers truth and happiness through the knowledge gained from reading stolen books.
Bradbury shows the ignorance the citizens possess, through many examples. In the beginning of the
book he shows it in a huge way when the firemen don t think twice about burning a woman alive:
Montag placed his hand on the woman s elbow. You can come with me. No, she said. Thank you,
anyway. The pink face of Beatty now showed the faintest ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the beginning of the book Ray Bradbury shows how Montog reacts to fire when he is ignorant.
Montag did not think about what he was doing while he burned books because he had not began
reading books himself. Montag grinned the fierce grin of all men singed and driven back by flame. He
knew that when he returned to the firehouse, he might wink at himself, a minstrel man, burnt corked,
in the mirror.(4) This quote shows Montag s outlook on fire before he began reading books himself.
Montag was a complex character in Fahrenheit 451. His views constantly change as the story
progresses. In the end of the book, Bradbury showed him and his reactions to fire where, after his
ignorance had been lifted. He had realized that it could do more than cause destruction and take away
pieces of art away, but that it could help bring people together. Bradbury shows this when montag
finds people come together around fire rather than be pulled apart because of it: It was not only the
fire that was different. It was the silence that was concerned with all of the world.(146) Montag looked
at the fire at the end of the book and felt happy and at peace with the world. He did not feel anger or a
resistance to the fire, but he was one with it and was no longer ignorant to how special books

Being A Tai Chi Teacher
Being a Tai Chi teacher the question of which diet is healthier, one including meat or one excluding
meat i.e. a vegetarian diet has lead me to research the subject my finding were surprising.
The word vegetarian is not derived from vegetable as most people think, but from the Latin word
vegus which means full of life . Some of the world s greatest thinkers eschewed meat, among them:
Leonardo Da Vinci, Sir Issac Newton, St. Francis of Assisi and Albert Einstein who said: It is my view
that the vegetarian manner of living, by its purely physical effect on the human temperament would
most beneficially influence the lot of mankind.
Pythagoras, who is generally given credit for its inception, praised vegetarianism for its hygienic
nature and the kinship it fostered between man and the animals. In the past most Doctors, nutritionists
and those responsibly for health education, have in the main stated that a diet which contained no
meat, could not be a healthy diet because this kind of diet would be lacking in certain minerals and
vitamins, especially the B group of vitamins.
In recent years the trend towards eating less meat has increased because the technology that has so
successfully increased meat production is an unnatural method. The use of chemicals and the
unnatural living conditions the animals are kept in, which in many cases are appalling, are designed to
force growth. People are now becoming increasingly concerned about their intake of chemicals and fat

Kubbo And The Two Strings
Kubo and the Two strings is an amazing animation film that is based off of Japanese culture and can
be very dark at times. Personally, I believe that little kids shouldn t watch this because they may not be
able to understand it or just be scared in general. Kubo is a clever, kindhearted boy who tells stories
through origami by using a Shamisen (magical musical instrument) to the people that live in his
seaside town. That was until the day he stayed out when the sun set vanished and now he is on the run
from a past that he barely understands. This was a great movie because it s not an ordinary animated
film its blended in with having origami telling the story as well as the anime characters.
Kubo and the Two Strings is about a boy named Kubo, who tells fantastical stories about a great
samurai warrior named Hanzo in his town. That was until the day he accidentally summoned a
mythical spirit the Moon King who has already taken one of his eyes and is intending to take his other
eye. He doesn t quite understand why the Moon King is after him, but his mother has made a huge
sacrifice to keep him away from the Moon King. Now Kubo must join forces with a Monkey
(Charlize Theron) and Beetle (Matthew McConaughey), to solve the mystery of what happened to his
fallen father while also trying to save his family. With the help of his shamisen (magical musical
instrument) Kubo must battle monsters and gods, including the Moon King (Ralph Fiennes) and evil
twin sisters (Rooney Mara).

Government In Cannery Row
The Government is a source of help for many people. Sometimes this grand of a government fails on
us. Then people begin to struggle. However sometimes the government takes over our lives to help us.
Not like a National Socialistic take over of our lives, but a socialistic. However, there are also many
different types of ideologies that the government controls its people. The people of Cannery Row have
created a socialist atmosphere to replace the government that has failed them.
Socialism in America began in Chicago IL, June 15 21, 1897. This ideology was founded at a joint
convention of the new combined American Railway Union. This was due to the two Railway
Industries combining with each other, Eugene V. Debs and the Brotherhood of the ... Show more

Lee knew some people would never pay back and some people would need to take time to pay back
with 0% interest.
Communism is a very similar ism to socialism. Both are left winged. However, Communism is more
similar to Liberalism in the aspect of helping out its own people. In communism the government
makes everyone at the same level, no one richer or poorer nor have more pay or less pay. And there is
no such thing as private property, government monopolizes with industries. Everyone is an equal and
everyone helps each other. This is a revolutionary socialistic concept.
The last to understand Socialism is National Socialism. This is Hitler s form of government, also
known as Nazism. This form of government is nothing like Cannery Row s government, at all. In
National Socialism people are not equal, racist, value of property and race are above equality, and the
absence of religion. This ideology is almost the complete opposite of socialism that is running through
Cannery Row. What is similar is absence of religion, Cannery cease to have any type of religion and
the people in the town are no racists at all. Otherwise everything in Cannery Row is the complete
opposite of Socialism.
Many causes converged to upset old beliefs and solidarities of the rich, and to reconstruct some of
their relations with one another and with government. They brought some of their troubles on
themselves. Others were forced on them by indignant

John Stuart Mill Essay examples
Who is John Stuart Mill?
John Stuart Mill was born on May 20, 1806, in London, England. He was mostly known for his
radical views. For example, he preached sexual equality, divorce, universal suffrage, free speech, and
proportional representation. He had many works of writings such as Principles of Political Economy,
On Liberty, The Subjections of Women, and the Three Essays of Religion: Nature, the Utility of
Religion, and Theism.
John Mill was the eldest son of James Mill who was a philosopher, economist and a senior official in
the East India Company. James educated John when he was young. His father taught him discipline,

During John s lifetime one of his most controversial works was On Liberty. It was an essay on the
feelings he and his wife had, that they lived in a society where bold and adventurous individuals were
becoming all too rare. (http://www.utilitarianism.com/jsmill.htm) Many critics believed that Mill was
way ahead of his time not just in human rights, but in other many other ways. The Subjection of
Women, which was considered crazy during his time, today is considered just another feminist
approach. Many would compare this essay too Marry Wollstonecraft s book, A Vindication of the
Rights of Woman. He writes in this essay that men should treat women just as they would treat
another man. Another of his famous works is his writing of System of Logic. In this work he describes
his new idea of the logic of consistency. (http://www.utilitarianism.com/jsmill.htm) He thought that
we could prove the conclusion we drew from evidence. Principles of Political Economy, written in
1848, tried to show that economics was not just dismal science. He wanted to prove the difference
between economics and what humans really valued in the economy.
He eventually retired from the East India Company in 1858, which is when the British government
took over. Elected Member of the Parliament for Westminster in 1865, he made several

Heritage And Selfishness In Everyday Use By Alice Walker
Everyday Use is a short story written by Alice Walker that tells the story of two sisters that choose
diverse lifestyles that cause them to view heritage differently. Walker portrays two characters whose
views on heritage contrast each other. Dee is a woman who bases her views on material items and
other people s opinions. Maggie, on the other hand, is a humble, down home woman that creates her
own perspective of heritage. Because these characters go down different paths, there is a disparity
between what they think heritage actually is. This allows Walker to develop the differences between
Dee and Maggie through indirect characterization. Dee manifests the characteristic of selfish

As a result of her lack of knowing what heritage really is, she thinks that the quilts will bring her
closer to her culture. Dee s absence of knowledge of what heritage actually is heritage and her
selfishness is shown through her actions and interactions. In contrast to Dee s selfishness, Maggie
proves herself to be a selfless woman through her considerate actions and feelings. Though Maggie
has never been shown the type of love her sister has, her actions are kind and compassionate when she
tries to read to her mother. Maggie, who is not a very skillful reader herself, attempts to read to her
illiterate mother. The author reads, Sometimes Maggie reads to me. She stumbles along good
naturedly but can t see well. She knew she wasn t very bright (Walker 53). Though Mama has never
shown Maggie affection quite like she has Dee, Maggie still tries to read to her even though she is not
a proficient reader. Unlike her selfish sister, Maggie selflessly puts the needs of others before her own
and her actions verify her benevolence. Furthermore, even after Maggie s mom continues to show
more affection to Dee,she continues to show compassion through her feelings about a quilt Dee is
trying to take away from Maggie. The author writes, She can have them Mama, she said, like
somebody used to never winning anything, or having anything reserved for her. I can remember
Grandma Dee without the quilts (Walker 59). Though Maggie never wins anything, she is willing to

especially people with a high level of uncertainty avoidance, but I personally like his attitude of trying
things that people think are impossible. I think he does a good job of connecting those under him to
his brand. He s a leader who inspires and who makes people believe they re part of something bigger
than themselves.
I think that although he may be unconventional at times, Sir Richard Branson is an excellent leader,
and I hope to emulate many of his leadership traits. I honestly felt like I learned a lot about leadership
success while looking into how he runs his business. A lot of it reinforced lessons from the course, but
it was nice seeing a real world example of how those principles are being applied on a daily basis. I

Research Project Supervisor: Dr. Karen Furgerson
The purpose of this study was to understand the college students perceptions of slut shaming
discourse. The research indicated that there was a strong correlation between cultural expectations and
slut shaming. According to the results, the perceptions of slut shaming are influenced by aspects such
as: class, culture, media, gender, feminism, ethnicity, religion, and sexuality. Overall, college students
were found to be on crossfire of slut shaming discourse on a college campus. It was concluded, based
on the research, the participants have significantly identified with judging a woman by the way she
dresses. It is recommended that further research be devoted to slut shaming perceptions in different:
cultures, groups, regions, religions, organizations, media and institutions.

Aeneas And Jesus Analysis
Aeneas and Jesus: More Alike Than One Would Think
The Aeneid focuses on the founding of Rome by Aeneas, a pious Trojan who has escaped the falling
of Troy. Aeneas demonstrates pietas, the devotion to one s family, mission, and homeland. Like
Aeneas, Jesus in The Gospel of Matthew possesses pietas as he constantly shows dedication to his
people, fate, and country. Each fulfills his duties, whether it is through finding his people s new land
or spreading the word of his god. The cultures the authors lived in during the time the texts were
written shaped their literary figures beliefs and actions. Aeneas and Jesus both have variations of
pietas. Aeneas depicts the familial component of having pietas in a literal sense; he makes sure he
leaves none of his family behind as he escapes the destruction of his homeland. One example is when
he carries his father on his back out of the burning walls of their city, Troy (Aeneid, 51). When his
father is persistent that he cannot leave, Aeneas does not leave him behind, but ... Show more content

Like Aeneas, Jesus is the messiah of his people; he is the anointed one. This is shown when an angel
of the Lord says to Joseph, ...for he will save his people form their sins (Matthew 1:21). He protects
and loves the Judean people and honors the special covenant between them and God. Jesus saves the
people of Judea by his teachings. By spreading the word of God, he rescues them both spiritually and
physically. He heals the lame and blind, and interprets Judean law in the manner of what God deems a
perfect man should. Both Aeneas and Jesus lead their people from oppression and unblessed death;
Aeneas leads the remaining Trojans out of their burning city to avoid being violently murdered or
enslaved by Greek forces, and Jesus saves his people from political oppression by their non Judean
leaders by guiding them to a righteous

The same consideration, on a smaller scale, the electronics industry enjoys. The electronics industry is
the combination of manufacturers of electronics products at different scales. Climatic considerations
are very important to the electronics industry. The incorrect climatic condition could cause devastating
effects for example Tribocorrosion involves mechanical and chemical/electrochemical interactions
between surfaces in relative motion in the presence of a corrosive environment. Tribocorrosion
phenomena are encountered in many technological areas where they cause damage to installations,
machines, and devices. Often tribocorrosion damage is a problem for safety or for human health. In
other applications tribocorrosion phenomena are put to good use in manufacturing. The chemo
mechanical mechanisms of tribocorrosion are still incompletely understood, they involve the
properties of contacting material surfaces, the mechanics of the contact and the corrosion conditions
(D Landolt, 2006). The tribocorrosion example clearly illustrates how climate could directly affect the
electronics industry. Topographic considerations are also directly linked to this industry. The incorrect
topographic location chosen for a factory or distribution center could cause millions in loses to the

Nickel And Dimed Summary
Nickel and Dimed by journalist Barbara Ehrenreich is the recollection of Ehrenreich s experiment to
examine the economic conditions that the working poor in America had to endure after a major
welfare reform, which made welfare less of a safety net and encouraged recipients of welfare to be
reliant on a job and a job alone. With just a car, a couple thousand dollars, and a PhD in biology,
Ehrenreich went undercover in a few states in America to take on the minimum wage life herself, and
prove her claim that the working poor are being undermined by the covert and unjust class system in
America. Her claim proved to be true several times throughout her experiment. In each state, she
needed at least two jobs to pay for just her bare necessities, which led to exhaustion. It was so difficult

working, because she can not afford to miss a work day. Also in Maine, Ehrenreich contracted a rash
from the cleaning equipment she was using, and she found it difficult to pay for the proper cream to
treat it with the money she earned from working two jobs! One can only imagine how single mothers
working two jobs pay for their children s needs, when Ehrenreich found it hard to support herself, and
had to dip into her own savings to do something as simple as get the proper medicine for her body.
However, this makes you question how authentic an experiment like hers can be. Ehrenreich mentions
many times that her experience is just one out of millions, and there are different factors that play in,
like children and race, but that does not change the fact that it is not real life for

storyline follows a high school geek, Malcolm, in his efforts of trying to get out of his in the bottom
town of Inglewood by gaining acceptance into Harvard. Though it s not as easy as it seems as
Malcolm (Shameik Moore) and his friends, Diggy (Kiersey Clemons) and Jib (Tony Revolori), come

These shot often occur whenever Malcolm encounters a very pretty girl, we switch into Malcolm s
point of view as he looks and watches whatever that girl is doing. For example, we see his point of
view as he watches Nakia (Zoë Kravitz) erase something in her notebook with her pencil to which he
then helps her solve the problem she was working on. Also, later on, we see through Malcolm s eyes,
Lily (Chanel Iman) swimming topless in the pool as she too stares back at Malcolm. Whenever
Malcolm faces possible danger, we also then switch to his viewpoint. Like when Malcolm and his
friends look around for the guy in the red El Camino that wants the drugs, we use Malcolm s line of
sight and see his eyes search the curb for the car. Also, we jump into Malcolm s viewpoint when he is
in the school s bathroom hiding from the two patrol officers and the drug dog to escape getting caught
with the dope that is in his backpack and return to the SAT test that he is supposed to be taking.
Another time when we are shifted into Malcolm s perspective is when is attempting to figure

from Malcolm s eyes a solution of using the band equipment that needs to be carried in to get them
inside the building for the party. Yet another example of Malcolm putting two and

Let Medicine Be Thy Food And Let Food Be Thy Medicine
The Greek physician and father of medicine Hippocrates once said Let medicine be thy food and let
food be thy medicine. This simple statement encompasses my view of many global health problems
that I believe could be resolved utilizing urban agricultural techniques and provide access to a healthy
food source. Medicine has long been aware that an apple a day will keep the doctor away. Wouldn t it
be nice if it could be said that an eggplant a day will keep cancer away? If individuals change the
source that their food is derived from to urban farms it may be possible to keep many ailments away.
Urban agricultural programs also referred to as urban farms or ZFarms, have the potential to have a
positive impact on communities worldwide by affecting eating habits, social interaction and economic
patterns.
2.
Priority: The Global Problem of Hunger in Developing Countries
Statement: Of the 7 billion people in the world approximately one in nine individuals are without food
(World Hunger, 2016). The scarcity of nutrition is associated with exhaustion, absence from school
and disease, however, researchers are finding potential in the use of urban gardening as a significant
link in urban food security (Brown Jameton, 2000).
Priority: Lower rates of Diabetes Mellitus worldwide
Statement: The global health burden is increasing at an alarming rate with the number of those
affected doubling since 1980 (Global Report on Diabetes, 2016). Self food production increases the
amount of energy that an individual expends decreasing the amount of time spent in a sedentary state
and decreasing risks associated with diabetes (Bellow, et al, 2003). Additionally, the quality of food
produced in the urban garden helps to low diabetes instances due to a healthier diet.
Priority: Utilize urban farming to increase mental health benefits
Statement: World wide mental disease is third as far as impact on the global burden of disease (Burden
of Mental Illness, 2013). With globalization of urban farming can help those struggling with mental
illness by increasing exposure to plants and outdoor activities which trigger both illness prevention
and healing responses (Bellow, et al, 2003).

Statistics Overview
Statistics provides us with very useful tools and techniques that aide us in dealing with real world
scenarios. I have been able to learn several useful concepts by studying statistics that can aide me in
making rational and informed decisions that are supported by the analysis results. Statistics as a
discipline is the application and development of various processes put in place to gather, interpret, and
analyse the information. The quantification of biological, social, and scientific phenomenons, design
and analysis of experiments and surveys, and application of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Each statistic in the descriptive form lowers the quantity of data into a much simpler summary.
Inferential Statistics Inferential statistics helps us to analyze predictions, inferences, or samples about
a specific population from the observations that they make. With inferential statistics, you are trying to
reach conclusions that extend beyond the immediate data alone (Trochim, 2006). The goal for this
type of data is to review the sample data to be able to infer what the test group may think. It does this
by making judgment of the chance that a difference that is observed between the groups is indeed one
that can be counted on that could have otherwise happened by coincidence. In order to help solve the
issue of generalization, tests of significance are used. For example, a chi square test or T test provides
a person with the probability that the analysis sample results may or may not represent the respective
population. In other words, the tests of significance provides us the likelihood of how the analysis
results might have happened by chance in a scenario that a relationship may not exist between the
variables in regards to the population that is being studied.
Hypothesis Development and Testing:
Hypothesis testing and development provides a baseline for taking ideas or theories that were initially
created by another person in regards to the markets, economy, or investing and then determining if the

My Family s Slave, By Alex Tizon
What would you do if your family had a woman working for them throughout your whole life? What
about when you watch her get mistreated and find her sleeping in corners, watching her teeth rot,
exhausted all the time and working as a mother and servant without pay?Would you defend her? Alex
Tizon did. In My Family s Slave , Alex Tizon tells a story about a woman named Lola who became a
great part of his life. After understanding what Lola was as a young boy and watched how she was
treated, the author reveals how as he grew older he tries to enhance Lola s life. He confesses that by
the time he starts to give her a taste of freedom she is 75 years old and cannot do much. But
throughout those eleven free years, he tries to make up for everything.
Lola or Eudocia Tomas Pulido, her real name, is enslaved at 18 years old to Tizon s mother as a gift
when she is a child. In the second paragraph, the author starts off saying, she was 4 foot 11, with
mocha brown skin and almond eyes that I can still see looking into mine (21). He chooses this to
describe Lola and his first memory of her to show the kind love he has for her. Soon after, Tizon goes
into the unfortunate memories he carries, Her days began before everyone else woke and ended after
we went to bed. She prepared three meals a day, cleaned the house, waited on my parents, and took
care of my four siblings and me. My parents never paid her, and they scolded her constantly. She wasn

Essay on The Great Gig in the Sky
At a late Thursday night, I have received word that I would perform in a fancy ball room. With only
two weeks of experience I had a gig in front of a hundred people. Like many first gigs, the stage plays
tricks on you and makes you feel inferior. Stage fright had to go away at some point, so I decided for it
to be this Saturday night. Countless of hours put into this one night, I would practice day in and day
out. There was something for me to prove. You don t have to be naturally talented and experienced to
become successful or to perform at a high level. All it takes is a little self confidence and hard work. Is
two weeks enough for a musician to pick up an instrument and perform? A sunny day in Houston,
Texas. Just this morning I have ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
My heart quickly accelerated and continued to run for its life. I looked at my hands which were
beginning to moisture. The thought of performing with little experience struck me down. I was a
nervous wreck and I knew that within the next five minutes. I will give it my all or die trying. I
patiently waited to be called. A loud thumping noise is heard as I head over to the door and open the
door. It was my father. There is no need to feel nervous. You worked so hard and pushed yourself to
prove a point. Although that may be true, you worked so hard not only for success but also for the
enjoyment of performing. My dad had turned his back on me and faded away. I stood still thinking
about what he has told me. There was a better reason to why I stood up so late and practiced so much.
From the beginning, playing an instrument was a wonderful experience. With a confident look and a
brighter self esteem. I was ready to rock n roll! I treasured the moment. I put on my shades and
walked across the hall with a determined look. I made my way backstage and was suddenly called to
the stage. The spotlight was brighter than the suns ray. I foolishly put my shades back on and take a
look around me. Complete silence was around me. Such a quiet, yet eerie atmosphere. Eyes across the
stage followed me like a homing missile. I strum a chord and begin playing. A rough start was quickly
changed whenever the music began progressing. After all, all that practice made me

The Benefits Of Choosing The Electronic Health Record System

What Are The Causes And Effects Of Teen Bullying
Introduction Paragraph:
Bullying is a form of aggressive behavior in which someone intentionally and repeatedly causes
another person injury or discomfort. Bullying can take the form of physical contact, words or more
subtle actions. The bullied individual (the victim) typically has trouble defending him or herself and
does nothing to cause the bullying. Bullying amongst the teens is mostly common in school, social
places, and or streets where teens go out their way to harm or belittle the victim. This paper seeks to
analyze the causes and effects of teen bullying.

Effects of bullying
Depression, suicide attempts, physical health problems, and reduced academic achievement these are
just a few of the negative effects bullying can have on children, according to many studies. Lets
discuss a few of them in further detail.
Self esteem and Social isolation
Bullying affects the victim s quality of life, which means the victims self esteem as well as self worth
will decrease. The victims find themselves in constant fear, tension and anxiety. Whilst other children
are playing or socializing with their friends the victim s of bullying keeps to themselves, being also
scared that their assailants would lash out at them in public, making the bullying even worse. This
causes stress, making the victim vulnerable to infections due to low immunity.
Academic achievement
The effect of bullying is not only physical but also emotional. These victims cannot concentrate and
might miss out on lessons and school days, meaning academically they will also start to fall behind.
This will cause even more anxiety and stress.

It is one of the leading tire producers in the world, but there is still competition, and the way to get
ahead is to offer consumers new products that are more cost efficient, safe, and durable, with good
warranties and convenient and available help provided by service centers when needed. Bridgestone
needs to expand its number of company based stores that are located within America. It also needs to
establish new markets every year, both geographic ones throughout the world, but also with new
demographics, such as younger generations. Bridgestone offers quality tires, while remaining at low,
competitive prices and that is what has attracted its customers for years. It has a wide consumer base
as it is, and revenue is in the millions, but there are always way to improve and make its products
available to more people worldwide. Bridgestone Americas Holding Inc. has such an extensive
background, with strengths coming from both sides of the merger in 1990 between Japan s
Bridgestone Company and America s Firestone Company. The merger created a huge advantage for
Bridgestone in the international market. They were automatically global. Bridgestone also has an
advantage because they have been in the tire industry for a very long time. Currently, Bridgestone s
revenue is $20,678 million dollars. Bridgestone is in control of 34% of the total tire industry.

The United States had just gained victory from World War I and was thriving. The period known as

The Framers Of The Constitution
Civics and Citizenship
The Framers of the Constitution looked to history for examples of governments that directly
represented the people. Early Romans wanted to create a lasting republic, a government in which
citizens rule themselves through elected representatives. A republic is a government in which citizens
rule themselves through elected representatives. Americans liked the roman form of government but
also knew that eventually the Roman republic became a dictatorship, a government in which one
person rules with all authority. The Framers wanted to avoid the Roman s fate. They wanted to create
a permanent government where the informed citizens ran their own government.
Another historic document the Founders looked to was the Magna Carta. In 1215, many of the
landowning gentry of England rebelled against the unpopular King John. In order to help restore peace
the rebels forced the king to sign the Magna Carta. It placed limits on the power of the English king
and made Parliament the ruling body in England. The English Bill of Rights (1689) was another
document the Framers looked to. It gave the citizens of England certain rights such as freedom of
speech and separation of powers.
John Locke published Two Treatise [essays] of Government in 1689. In these tow documents Locke
proposed that every person had the rights of life, liberty and property. The government cannot take
these unalienable rights away unless they have a reason. Locke also stated that the

Snow white. Casper. The abdominal snowman. Why do these characters all sound so familiar to me?
Well, it is simply because I am a very fair skinned brunette. . I describe myself as bright white. I never
realized how white I was until people felt the dire need to tell me. As a young child, I never really
thought it was a big deal either. But as we age, we learn new things that perhaps we did not recognize
before. People say that some things in life, you just never forget. This indeed is very true. Several
summers ago I was at a friend s house playing volleyball with a few people. Does it bother you that
you are so white? asked a girl who I did not even know. I dropped the ball and stared at her with a
blank face. All that was running through my mind was Does it bother you that you are so obnoxious?
But of course I did not actually vocalize this thought. I simply kept playing volleyball. But soon after I
questioned myself, Does it bother me? Should it bother me? I went home that day and took a long
look in the mirror. Then it hit me, I was whiter than most people were. Sure, I ve heard plenty of
people say, You need more color and I m going to call you Casper. However, this one stranger s
comment made me wonder. I began to overthink and shortly after my self esteem dropped. I would
look in the mirror and think that maybe if I was tan I would be prettier. I thought that maybe if I was
tanner I would not be judged by people, including family and friends. Then,

STATE OF THE QIP (QUALIFIED INSTITUTIONAL PLACEMENT) SINCE IT S INCEPTION IN
2006 QIPs are a quick and cost effective method of raising funds by way of private placement of
securities or convertible bonds with QIBs. Before the introduction of Chapter XIII A in the SEBI DIP
Guidelines, an Indian listed company intending to raise further capital from the public markets in
India had the option of doing so by offering securities through a follow on public offering or
preferential allotments. In May, 2006, SEBI came out with it s guidelines for raising funds through the
QIP route. Since then, a lot many companies have gone this route. The intention of SEBI behind
allowing QIP Scheme, is to promote the domestic private placement which is generally considered to
have two prime advantages over FCCBs (Foreign Currency Convertible Bonds) and GDRs (Global
Depository Receipts), i.e. keeping liquidity in the same market and faster way to get approvals.

Abuse Of Women In Woman At Point Zero
The abuse of women is seen frequently in Nawal El Saadawi s novel Woman at Point Zero. This
repeating picture or idea of women taken over by men in the Egyptian society, takes the reader into a
different and vicious world that keeps on with the pictures or the stereotypes of men acting like
animals and destroying women. El Saadawi represents Firdaus as a catastrophic hero, who is basically
executed because she is brave enough to stand up against men in a society that is mostly dominated by
men. In the novel she was trying to bring down the harsh male lifestyle she has grown up in. Because
of their shortfall of natural strength, the women need to find a backup way to preserve themselves.

To Kill A Mockingbird Chapter 5 Analysis
I chose the vocabulary words emboldened (courage), and apprehension (anxiety or fear something bad
or unpleasant will happen). The reason they apply to comprehending chapter 5 and the book is
because courage is a major characteristic of the underdog, and without it they become the average
person who is unable to overcome disadvantages exceedingly well. In particular courage was a key
aspect in the way Freirich approached the children with leukemia. In contrast, apprehension is a
quality that the underdog is not familiar with, alternatively it is a trait of a person who is not willing to
take risks, chances, think outside of the box, or oppose the norm . Hence, the difference between these
two qualities is a major factor when considering the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In addition, Gladwell painted a good picture of the sorrow felt due to the severity of the affects on the
children from drugs, procedures, and imminent death more often than not. Gladwell gave extensive
detail to drive the point home of how audacious it was not to think outside of the box or form an
unconvential strategy to help save these childrens lives. In order to really understand the general
atmosphere, which appeared to be morgue like; the attitudes of the doctors who worked on that ward
issuing death sentences providing no hope to their patients needed to be made crystal clear. Otherwise,
it would be difficult for your average person who has empathy to understand some of Freirichs
approaches as they were viewed as haineous and unempathetic. Even though Freirich did not possess a
great amount of bedside manner, he did have empathy for the continued torture that the children were
experiencing; relative to his childhood. Freirich could empathize because he also had a tormented
period of life, his ability to emotionally express this was void. In essence the lack of affection as a
child affected his genteel nature in adulthood. Freirich is able to handle these factors in the Cancer
ward because he immediately began attempting to conform to the heinous conditions by finding a
resolution or way to improve the statistics. The difference in Freirich and your average person is his
resilience in opposing the giants in these circumstances despite the consequences. Once again similar
to the underdog strategies used in previous chapters such as Randadive and Boeis; different unique
strategies are utilized to overcome disadvantages attaining success in impossible

Social Cost
The Social Costs of Academic Success across Ethnic Groups is a study conducted by Thomas E.
Fuller Rowell and Stacy N. Doan in 2010. The main intention behind this research was to explore the
long term comparison between academic achievement and social acceptance across different ethnic
groups in a sample of adolescents. In order to find out the race/ethnicities as well as social acceptance
of the participants they conducted in home interviews. In order to find the GPA, they utilized self
reports. The results of this research show that social acceptance is positively correlated with GPA.
African Americans and Native Americans adolescents have a bigger social cost with academic success
than White adolescents do. These findings also suggested that students of Mexican decent also show
different social costs within their achievement.
This research article possessed many strengths. The authors did an exceptional job in including all
factors such as gender, SES, ethnicity, minority groups, single parent families, school and
neighborhood disadvantages in regards to its correlation with academic success. The authors also did a

INTRODUCTION INTRODUCTION:
Software testing is one of the main and final steps in the software development life cycle. Testing is
important to ensure that the system works as it was intended to. Software testing is a method of
assessing the functionality of a software program. There are many different types of software testing
but the main types are black box testing and white box testing. Testing can be done either manually or
automatically. Testing is an important and heavily used technique to measure and ensure software
quality. It is part of almost any software project. The testing phase of typical projects take up to 50%
of the total project effort, [1] and hence contributes significantly to the project costs. Any change in
the software can potentially influence the result of a test. For this reason tests have to be repeated
often. This is error prone, time consuming and expensive. Automatic testing significantly reduces the
effort of individual tests. This implies that performing the same test becomes cheaper, or one can do
more tests within the same budget. Manual testing is time consuming, unreliable and costly while
Automated testing in contrast is reliable and requires less investment in human resources. Test data
generation in program testing is the process of identifying a set of test data which satisfies given
testing criterion. A test data generator is a tool which assists a programmer in the generation of test
data for a program [11]. The most recent

Video Games and Violent Video Games Effect
A video game is an electronic game in which players control images on a television or computer
screen (Merriam Webster). Video games have been entertaining and challenging gamers since the
Game Boy to modern console games. Despite the simplicity of the definition of video games, a video
game, especially ones containing violence can have a large effect on the gamer. Because of the realism
and advancements in the video game industry, video games can influence the player, and can make the
gamer more aggressive, even if the game is not a violent video game. Even though video games have
grown in popularity over the past decade, some have not been too popular with parents, for the reason
that they are too violent. Violent video games affect ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Video Games cause social isolation, for example a 15 year old boy in Sweden pass out after playing
World of Warcraft for 24 hours straight, he passed out because he started experiencing social
withdrawal, the kid was lacking contact with other humans, and his body s response to the problem
was to pass out. On an extreme level, Ruya Cunningham, a college student spent twenty hours a week
playing video games, she eventually dropped out of school, stopped exercising, and even stopped
bathing (Marcovitz 70). Later on, Ruya Cunningham developed depression, but she kept playing video
games because she was addicted to the game. When people are addicted to a game, there is a spiraling
vortex sucking the gamer away from society and from sanity. As a consequence of playing violent
video games, many teen gamers struggle with real world relationships, this is because they form close
virtual relationships with people they meet online. A man in Wisconsin has formed a tremendously
close relationship with a group of guys he plays online with, he discusses politics with them and they
send each other Christmas gifts even though they do not know each other (Marcovitz 70 72). Video
games can also affect the players mental and their physiological state.
Video games, especially violent video games have a strong influence because of their many aspects.
First of all, most violent video games are played

Kill Garden Pesticides Experiments
Abstract: In this experiment, I want to investigate the effectiveness of different organocides in their
ability to kill garden pests. I am interested in testing this because all of the organocides claim to be
organic pesticides. This means they are safe for use on plants and contain natural ingredients. Since
they are made with all natural ingredients and do not contain any harmful chemicals, I want to see
how that will affect their ability to kill insects. My investigation will expand knowledge in this area by
determining what type of organocides are most effective in their ability to kill. The fungus Beauveria
Bassiana will be the most effective in killing garden pests because of its ability to create spores that
will spread quickly from ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Insecticidal soaps have many advantages when compared to other insecticides. They are inexpensive
to use, are among the safest pesticides, leave no harsh residue, are natural products that are virtually
non toxic to animals and birds, and can be used on vegetables up to harvest (Williamson). Most
beneficial insects are not harmed by soap sprays. Soaps are fatty acids that can degrade or dissolve the
protective layers of the insect cuticle, causing the insect to desiccate. Insecticidal soaps kill by
suffocation. They disrupt the cellular membranes of the insect, and they remove protective waxes that
cover the insect, resulting in dehydration (Williamson). Insecticidal soaps are considered nontoxic to
humans and many beneficial insects, but selectively kill certain pest insects (Murray 6). Insecticidal
soaps breakdown easily in the environment, and therefore they do not stay in the environment (Pundt).
It is less likely that resistance to insecticidal soaps will develop as quickly as to the more traditional
pesticides. Resistance within the insect tends to develop more quickly with materials that have a very
specific mode of action (Pundt). My investigation will expand knowledge in this area by determining
what type of organocides are most effective in their killing ability. It

Laura was a really nice and really caring person. At the age of ten she took care of all her ten siblings.

The Life And Opinions Of Tristram Shandy, Gentleman By...
The Life and Opinions of Tristram Shandy, Gentleman is a comic novel by Laurence Stern. As the title
suggests, the book is Tristram s narration of his life story. The novel is highly unconventional in its
narrative technique. One of the central jokes of the novel is that Tristram cannot explain anything
simply, in order to add content and colour to his tales for the readers he gets into deep explantions of
minor things which end up in complete lose of the plot at most of the times. The novel appears in nine
volumes, published in five separate installments, each containing two volumes except the last which
had only the final volume IX. In the book, Tristram is in a race against time: even though he s writing

Essay about Pablo Picasso
Every artist has his or her own style of painting. Each painting tells some sort of story or has some
type of personal meaning to the artist. One of the most important figures in modern art is Pablo
Picasso. Not only was Pablo Picasso a genius in the field of abstract art, but he also experimented with
sculpting and ceramics. Pablo Picasso has taken the world to many places with his unique style of
work which is why I believe he is considered to be a genius of the 20th century.
Background
Pablo Picasso, born Pablo Ruiz, was destined to become an artist at a very young age. Born in Malaga,
Spain on October 15, 1881, the young artist began to follow in the footsteps of Jose Ruiz Blasco—his
father. Many say that Picasso s love for art was ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, Picasso made it evident that he was a gifted artist when he introduced the world to his own
style of painting during what was known as Picasso s Blue Period. The Blue Period marked a time in
Picasso s career from 1901 1904 that defined the different real life experiences that he had been
exposed to throughout his life. It is rumored that Picasso s blue period began briefly after the death of
a close friend, and the blue tones were used to reflect his feelings of bleakness during that time (GME,
1996). Most of his paintings during the blue period consisted of blind, impoverished, despaired
people, and the paintings were done mostly in blue tones. One of the most famous pieces created
during the period was called The Old Guitarist, which depicts a saddened, blind, old man holding his
guitar. In 1905 after his blue period, Picasso s subject matter and color schemes that he used for his
paintings began to change. From 1905 1906, Picasso developed the Rose Period. Now instead of
painting depressing figures with blue dull color tones, he began to paint circus people acrobats, and
harlequin figures using pink and other earth tone colors (Gerten, n.d.). The rumor for this period is that
Picasso began to brighten his colors and themes after he fell in love. A famous piece from his Rose
period is called Boy with Pipe. The painting features a young boy holding a pipe with a flower

Slate roofing has been a popular method to have roofing for many centuries. They are durable,

EAA is a subtype of animal assisted activities, which can be provided by anyone who receives
specialized training and certification. Equine assisted therapy (EAT), a subtype of animal assisted
therapy, is the integration of the horse into goal directed treatment and is provided by licensed
therapist. (p. 205)
Hippotherapy is a specialized type of equine assisted therapy (EAT). It means involving a horse during
the course of treatment. In order to conduct hippotherapy, one must be a licensed therapist (physical,
occupational, or speech language pathologist) and be certified through the Professional Association of
Therapeutic Horsemanship (PATH). During hippotherapy, the client will sit on the horse s back and
adjust their body to the movements of the horse s walk. The client does not influence the horse; rather,
the horse s movements influences the rider. Functional riding skills are not taught, and any
improvement in the client s quality of life is secondary (Macauley Gutierrez, 2004). Within the scope
of practice of the therapist, the client will perform activities that will help achieve the set treatment
goals while sitting on top of the horse, complementing their horse s walk. Both physical and
psychosocial benefits have been documents or reports from the use of EAT and hippotherapy

Isaac Newton Space Flight The Laws of Motion and universal gravity proposed by Sir Newton led to
the development of space flight. Each law has a separate connection that when pieced together can
send you into the air.
The first law states that an object in motion tends to stay in motion unless an external force is applied
(cesplo.phys.utk.edu). Now this applies to space craft when a rocket sits until being lifted up once the
throttle of the engine is released (NASA). This is also because of aerodynamics, developed George
Cayley. Aerodynamics is the pressure when the force is applied to get up off the ground, perpendicular
to the surface (NASA). The second law says force equals mass times acceleration, as well

Moving To Atlanta
I grew up and spent most of my life living up north in Waldorf, Maryland, as my mother and step
father are employed by the U.S Military. They were stationed on Andrews Air Force Base for eight
years, but in 2006 they were both moved to Robins Air Force Base, in Warner Robins, Georgia.
During this time I moved to Atlanta to live with my dad for a year, before moving to Warner Robins to
live with my mom again. Upon arriving in the small city of Warner Robins, I noticed a big difference
in the population, social life, and education.
The city of Atlanta is full of people, and is growing by the numbers everyday. A lot of people move
here for schooling, a new career, cheaper living, and for the high city lifestyle. Whereas for Warner
Robins, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The only problem I had with schooling was with the curriculum, as it was harder than any other school
I had previously attended, and staffed a lot of teachers who didn t care too much about the students
education. I felt that I wouldn t be properly prepared for college, and would instead be forced into
adjusting at a community college upon graduating. Warner Robins school system in contrast was
exceptional, as there were teacher s that cared about each students progression, and there were about
25 30 students in each class. The teacher s stuck to the curriculum for each class, and they believed by
the end of each students high school experience, they would be ready for college courses. I feel that
every student needs a school system like this, but I know that not all small cities are going to be like
this, and not all large cities are going to bad school system like Atlanta.
Living in a large city was a good experience for me and taught me a lot. You can meet a lot of
interesting people, and see a lot of amusing sites for fun, social outings. Every kid or person that
moves around a lot, hopes to end up in an city like Atlanta at least once. I got that chance, with my
only bad experience coming from being enrolled in the DeKalb County School System. In the end, I
enjoy living in Atlanta, and I find the big city life a better fit for

Separating By John Updike And Alice Walker
Separating and Everyday Use are two short stories published by renowned American authors in the
mid 1970s. Although these works relate to two completely opposite topics of controversy in American
history, John Updike and Alice Walker both developed storylines that provide readers with a keener
sense of cultural understanding and include deep moral themes concerning the magnitude of heritage
and family in one s life. Updike s Separating is a story about a couple s struggle to inform their
children of their decision to separate for the summer. Upon their oldest daughter s return from
England, the two arranged a homecoming meal; here, Richard and Joan would have the opportunity to
discuss the situation with all four children so that they might grieve together as a family. In the
presence of three of his children, Richard begins to cry; moved by curiosity, they unearth his secret.
Although the girls seem unaffected, the youngest son frantically and drunkenly erupts; his father then
removes him from the room and shares with him a deep, rewarding conversation about his troubles.
Later that night, the eldest son also returns. Dreadfully, Richard retrieves him and apprises him of the
situation; shocked, the son flees to his bedroom. The parents enter the room and console their
saddened son; when Richard is asked to explain the reasoning behind the separation, he realizes he
had forgotten. Walker s Everyday Use is a tale concerning a mother and her daughter awaiting the

  • 3. How Did The Jamestown Colonies Lead To The Failure Of The... Adventure, promises of wealth, and an opportunity to a new life were some of the many reasons which attracted settlers to the Americas. However, what the new settlers did not know were the many challenges and tragedies this new life entailed. Despite all, the colonists of Jamestown would encounter the difficulties of starting a new colony in a foreign new land. The life these settlers found was nothing like they expected. Their hopes for wealth and a new beginning were soon replaced with death and misery. The colonies of the Americas can be seen as a failure because European settlers would come to experience the horrors that the New World would give them including famine and diseases. Before even being constructed, colonies had already been set for failure as many colonists did not properly prepare for the journey. Many did not have enough supplies to sustain a stable colony and prevent its people from starving. In a letter that Richard Frethorne wrote to his parents he portrays the poor nourishment settlers received when he says ...for since I came out of the ship I never ate anything but peas, and loblollie. Lack of agricultural, geographical, and survival knowledge and the fact of being in a new land prevented settlers from successfully growing crops and maintaining a steady food supply to their colonies. Jamestown, was a settlement which was greatly impacted by the failure of gathering food for its settlers. The colonists of Jamestown were mainly dying off of famine ... Examples Of Ignorance In Fahrenheit 451 In the novel Fahrenheit 451 by Ray bradbury, Bradbury shows that behind the destructive fire and the burning of books, citizens believe that the key to happiness is ignorance. In the story, the citizens of the dystopia don t question what is hidden from them, but the main character of the story ponders what he is told and discovers truth and happiness through the knowledge gained from reading stolen books. Bradbury shows the ignorance the citizens possess, through many examples. In the beginning of the book he shows it in a huge way when the firemen don t think twice about burning a woman alive: Montag placed his hand on the woman s elbow. You can come with me. No, she said. In the beginning of the book Ray Bradbury shows how Montog reacts to fire when he is ignorant. Montag did not think about what he was doing while he burned books because he had not began reading books himself. Montag grinned the fierce grin of all men singed and driven back by flame. He knew that when he returned to the firehouse, he might wink at himself, a minstrel man, burnt corked, in the mirror.(4) This quote shows Montag s outlook on fire before he began reading books himself. Montag was a complex character in Fahrenheit 451. His views constantly change as the story progresses. In the end of the book, Bradbury showed him and his reactions to fire where, after his ignorance had been lifted. He had realized that it could do more than cause destruction and take away pieces of art away, but that it could help bring people together. Bradbury shows this when montag finds people come together around fire rather than be pulled apart because of it: It was not only the fire that was different. It was the silence that was concerned with all of the world.(146) Montag looked at the fire at the end of the book and felt happy and at peace with the world. The word vegetarian is not derived from vegetable as most people think, but from the Latin word vegus which means full of life . Some of the world s greatest thinkers eschewed meat, among them: Leonardo Da Vinci, Sir Issac Newton, St. Francis of Assisi and Albert Einstein who said: It is my view that the vegetarian manner of living, by its purely physical effect on the human temperament would most beneficially influence the lot of mankind. Personally, I believe that little kids shouldn t watch this because they may not be able to understand it or just be scared in general. Kubo is a clever, kindhearted boy who tells stories through origami by using a Shamisen (magical musical instrument) to the people that live in his seaside town. That was until the day he stayed out when the sun set vanished and now he is on the run from a past that he barely understands. This was a great movie because it s not an ordinary animated film its blended in with having origami telling the story as well as the anime characters. Kubo and the Two Strings is about a boy named Kubo, who tells fantastical stories about a great samurai warrior named Hanzo in his town. That was until the day he accidentally summoned a mythical spirit the Moon King who has already taken one of his eyes and is intending to take his other eye. He doesn t quite understand why the Moon King is after him, but his mother has made a huge sacrifice to keep him away from the Moon King. Now Kubo must join forces with a Monkey (Charlize Theron) and Beetle (Matthew McConaughey), to solve the mystery of what happened to his fallen father while also trying to save his family. Maggie, on the other hand, is a humble, down home woman that creates her own perspective of heritage. Aeneas demonstrates pietas, the devotion to one s family, mission, and homeland. Like Aeneas, Jesus in The Gospel of Matthew possesses pietas as he constantly shows dedication to his people, fate, and country. Each fulfills his duties, whether it is through finding his people s new land or spreading the word of his god. The cultures the authors lived in during the time the texts were written shaped their literary figures beliefs and actions. Aeneas and Jesus both have variations of pietas. Aeneas depicts the familial component of having pietas in a literal sense; he makes sure he leaves none of his family behind as he escapes the destruction of his homeland. One example is when he carries his father on his back out of the burning walls of their city, Troy (Aeneid, 51). With just a car, a couple thousand dollars, and a PhD in biology, Ehrenreich went undercover in a few states in America to take on the minimum wage life herself, and prove her claim that the working poor are being undermined by the covert and unjust class system in America. Inferential Statistics Inferential statistics helps us to analyze predictions, inferences, or samples about a specific population from the observations that they make. With inferential statistics, you are trying to reach conclusions that extend beyond the immediate data alone (Trochim, 2006). The goal for this type of data is to review the sample data to be able to infer what the test group may think. It does this by making judgment of the chance that a difference that is observed between the groups is indeed one that can be counted on that could have otherwise happened by coincidence. In order to help solve the issue of generalization, tests of significance are used. For example, a chi square test or T test provides a person with the probability that the analysis sample results may or may not represent the respective population. In other words, the tests of significance provides us the likelihood of how the analysis results might have happened by chance in a scenario that a relationship may not exist between the variables in regards to the population that is being studied. Before the introduction of Chapter XIII A in the SEBI DIP Guidelines, an Indian listed company intending to raise further capital from the public markets in India had the option of doing so by offering securities through a follow on public offering or preferential allotments. In May, 2006, SEBI came out with it s guidelines for raising funds through the QIP route. Since then, a lot many companies have gone this route. The intention of SEBI behind allowing QIP Scheme, is to promote the domestic private placement which is generally considered to have two prime advantages over FCCBs (Foreign Currency Convertible Bonds) and GDRs (Global Depository Receipts), i.e. keeping liquidity in the same market and faster way to get approvals. This repeating picture or idea of women taken over by men in the Egyptian society, takes the reader into a different and vicious world that keeps on with the pictures or the stereotypes of men acting like animals and destroying women. El Saadawi represents Firdaus as a catastrophic hero, who is basically executed because she is brave enough to stand up against men in a society that is mostly dominated by men. In the novel she was trying to bring down the harsh male lifestyle she has grown up in. Because of their shortfall of natural strength, the women need to find a backup way to preserve themselves. The reason they apply to comprehending chapter 5 and the book is because courage is a major characteristic of the underdog, and without it they become the average person who is unable to overcome disadvantages exceedingly well. In particular courage was a key aspect in the way Freirich approached the children with leukemia. Gladwell gave extensive detail to drive the point home of how audacious it was not to think outside of the box or form an unconvential strategy to help save these childrens lives. In order to really understand the general atmosphere, which appeared to be morgue like; the attitudes of the doctors who worked on that ward issuing death sentences providing no hope to their patients needed to be made crystal clear. Otherwise, it would be difficult for your average person who has empathy to understand some of Freirichs approaches as they were viewed as haineous and unempathetic. Even though Freirich did not possess a great amount of bedside manner, he did have empathy for the continued torture that the children were experiencing; relative to his childhood. Freirich could empathize because he also had a tormented period of life, his ability to emotionally express this was void. In essence the lack of affection as a child affected his genteel nature in adulthood. Freirich is able to handle these factors in the Cancer ward because he immediately began attempting to conform to the heinous conditions by finding a resolution or way to improve the statistics. The main intention behind this research was to explore the long term comparison between academic achievement and social acceptance across different ethnic groups in a sample of adolescents. In order to find out the race/ethnicities as well as social acceptance of the participants they conducted in home interviews. In order to find the GPA, they utilized self reports. The results of this research show that social acceptance is positively correlated with GPA. • 38. Software Testing And White Box Testing INTRODUCTION INTRODUCTION: Software testing is one of the main and final steps in the software development life cycle. Testing is important to ensure that the system works as it was intended to. Software testing is a method of assessing the functionality of a software program. There are many different types of software testing but the main types are black box testing and white box testing. Testing can be done either manually or automatically. Testing is an important and heavily used technique to measure and ensure software quality. It is part of almost any software project. The testing phase of typical projects take up to 50% of the total project effort, [1] and hence contributes significantly to the project costs. Any change in the software can potentially influence the result of a test. For this reason tests have to be repeated often. This is error prone, time consuming and expensive. Automatic testing significantly reduces the effort of individual tests. This implies that performing the same test becomes cheaper, or one can do more tests within the same budget. Manual testing is time consuming, unreliable and costly while Automated testing in contrast is reliable and requires less investment in human resources. Test data generation in program testing is the process of identifying a set of test data which satisfies given testing criterion. A test data generator is a tool which assists a programmer in the generation of test data for a program [11]. The most recent ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Insecticidal soaps have many advantages when compared to other insecticides. They are inexpensive to use, are among the safest pesticides, leave no harsh residue, are natural products that are virtually non toxic to animals and birds, and can be used on vegetables up to harvest (Williamson). Most beneficial insects are not harmed by soap sprays. Soaps are fatty acids that can degrade or dissolve the protective layers of the insect cuticle, causing the insect to desiccate. Insecticidal soaps kill by suffocation. They disrupt the cellular membranes of the insect, and they remove protective waxes that cover the insect, resulting in dehydration (Williamson). Insecticidal soaps are considered nontoxic to humans and many beneficial insects, but selectively kill certain pest insects (Murray 6). Insecticidal soaps breakdown easily in the environment, and therefore they do not stay in the environment (Pundt). It is rumored that Picasso s blue period began briefly after the death of a close friend, and the blue tones were used to reflect his feelings of bleakness during that time (GME, 1996). Most of his paintings during the blue period consisted of blind, impoverished, despaired people, and the paintings were done mostly in blue tones. In 1905 after his blue period, Picasso s subject matter and color schemes that he used for his paintings began to change. From 1905 1906, Picasso developed the Rose Period.
