Macbeth Tragedy Essay
Crafting an essay on the tragedy of Macbeth is no easy task. The intricacies of Shakespearean
language, coupled with the nuanced characters and complex themes, demand a deep
understanding of both literary analysis and historical context. Delving into the psyche of
Macbeth and exploring the consequences of unchecked ambition requires a careful examination
of the play's structure, symbolism, and character development.
Moreover, tackling the tragedy of Macbeth necessitates a keen awareness of the broader cultural
and historical backdrop of the Elizabethan era. Shakespeare's works are layered with references
and allusions that add depth to the narrative, making it imperative for the essay writer to
navigate through these subtleties.
Analyzing the tragic elements requires a delicate balance of empathy and critical evaluation.
Unraveling the moral implications of Macbeth's choices and the ripple effects on other characters
demands a nuanced approach. The essay must not only highlight the flaws and fatal decisions of
the protagonist but also explore the societal and psychological forces at play.
Crafting a compelling thesis statement that encapsulates the essence of Macbeth's tragedy and
guides the essay's trajectory is a challenge in itself. The writer must be adept at formulating a
central argument that resonates with the complexity of the play, providing a roadmap for the
reader through the labyrinth of Shakespeare's narrative.
In conclusion, writing an essay on the tragedy of Macbeth is a formidable undertaking. It
requires a mastery of Shakespearean literature, an understanding of historical contexts, and a
nuanced analytical approach to unravel the layers of this timeless play. The writer must navigate
the intricacies of character, plot, and theme to offer a profound and insightful interpretation of
Macbeth's tragic journey.

Verizon Competitive Analysis
Describe your company s position and ability to compete on analytics.
Verizon, the company that I work for, is most known for its position within the
Telecommunications industry. Within that industry, Verizon definitely has the ability
to compete on analytics. As the leader within the telecommunications industry, we
are always looking for better ways to serve our customers and improve ourselves
and using analytical technologies help us keep ahead of our competitors. Recently,
with the acquisitions of AOL and Yahoo, Verizon has looked to branch out into the
Content and Media industry. This even furthers Verizon s ability to compete on

Verizon started out as Bell Atlantic which you could classify as a Stage 2
organization. When the company formally became Verizon Communicationsafter its
purchase of GTE and after the establishment of Verizon Wireless through a joint
venture with Vodafone, the company started to transition into stage 3. Verizon s
senior management were focused on increasing their network of coverage, which
was their distinctive capability, so they could have an advantage over their
competitors. Now, Verizon needed to find ways to improve their network and with
all of the data that was provided to them from their customers they were able to use
analytics to further improve themselves and stay competitive. I believe Verizon s
current status is in stage 4. Senior executives are committed to using analytics to
better utilize the network and better serve our customers. We are in the process of
trying to use analytics to differentiate ourselves from our competitors and
streamline those analytic processes across the company so that everyone is on the
same page and we are efficient. Verizon already uses a good amount of analytical
techniques that have helped the company get to the position that it currently is in
today. We are looking to the future and know where we need to go but we haven t
gotten there yet. Most likely, it will take Verizon a few years in

Prufrock
T.S. Eliot s poem The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock examines a single character,
Prufrock, who has been influenced by three very different modes of thinking:
Romanticism, Realism, and Modernism. These influences cause inner conflict
within the character that he struggles to overcome throughout the course of the
poem. Eliot s Prufrock is both psychologically and socially crippled because he
embodies both Romantic and Realist ideals, i.e. the heroism of the individual and
the awareness of insurmountable, objective realities, respectively, while possessing
the self conscious mind of a man influenced by a culture of Modernism. Robert
Cook, in his analysis, titled Emerson s Self Reliance, Sweeney, and Prufrock, of
Ralph Emerson s self reliant man, the epitome of a Romantic, and T.S. Eliot s
Prufrock, draws a number of distinctions between the two writers. He holds that
Prufrock is Eliot s more realistic response to Emerson s idealistic man. Ron Banerjee
examines the epigraphof the poem, which is a verse from Dante s Divine Comedy,
and, among other things, discovers how it illuminates the unchangeable reality of the
world around Prufrock. Romanticism heralds the heroism and nonconformity of the
noble individual. The desire to be great and known is innate to all men, including
Prufrock; however, Prufrock s crippling self consciousness disables him from
breaking away from society as the true Romantic man would strive to do. It is
evident by reading the poem that Prufrock
Analysis Of The Myth Of Robber Barons
Throughout American industrialization, large industries were run by some of the
richest men in history. These men got the nickname robber barons due to their
creation of large monopolies by making questionable business and government
activities, and by taking advantage of their workers to succeed. But in The Myth of
the Robber Baronsby Burton W. Folsom, he argues against these claims, and he
takes a deeper look into some of America s richest and most successful men. By
specifically looking at Cornelius Vanderbilt, John D. Rockefeller, James J. Hill, the
Scranton family and many more, Folsom believed that these so called robber barons
were actually entrepreneurs with a drive to succeed, leading to an improvement in
American lives.
In his ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The government also enacted the Hepburn Act, which made shipping internationally
difficult on the railroad. Despite the fact that government grants led to incompetent
railroads, the Interstate Commerce Commission and Hepburn Act were put into
place, which made it so Hill could not offer rate discounts on exports traveling on the
Great Northern en route to the Orient which was helping improve the economy with
increased trade. Hill and other market entrepreneurs were not corrupt or unfair when
choosing to not have subsides, but rather the political entrepreneurs were corrupt and
insolvent. Also, Folsom argues that John D. Rockefeller was negatively impacted by
government intervention. The Sherman Act was intended to prevent monopolies and
those companies in restraint of trade . Yet Standard Oilhad no monopoly and
certainly was not restraining trade . Rockefeller s goal was not to create a monopoly
but in order to keep his business succeeding he needed directors in each state. By
enacting the Sherman Act, Rockefeller s company struggled, due to competition
rising. These laws essentially stopped the growth of successful businesses, such as
Hill and Rockefeller, who became so successful due to no government intervention.
Many saw robber barons as deceitful, but this is actually not the case. Within The
Myth of Robber Barons,
Summary Of J. Smart s Extreme Vs. Restricted
Utilitarianism
J.J.C. Smart
Who is J.J.C. Smart and what does he teaches us about utilitarianism? However, after
reading Extreme vs Restricted utilitarianism by J.J.C. Smart, we can tell that there s
two kinds of utilitarianism s. The first one is extreme utilitarianism. The second one
is restricted utilitarianism. However, in my opinion extreme utilitarianism is the right
act. In addition, Smart was the defender of extreme utilitarianism. These are mainly
what J.J.C. Smart talks about in his work. First and foremost, after reading Extreme
vs Restricted utilitarianism by J.J.C. Smart, we can tell that these two kinds of
utilitarianism s are somewhat similar but not as much. First, he opens by separating
extreme and restricted utilitarianism. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, Extreme (ACT) utilitarianism follows rules of thumb and their guidelines.
In other words Smart states that rules of thumb promote particular actions that are
very important to people. In addition, according to Smart, rules of thumb can be
broken. These are all the interesting facts about rules of thumb and what they are and
what they mean. To wrap it all up, according to smart, the main difference between
extreme and restricted utilitarianism is that restricted utilitarians hold that conformity
to rules determines right action and extreme utilitarians do not. In addition,
according to extreme utilitarianism, if someone does a morally right action, then
they do not commit themselves to one version or another. On the other hand, smart
mentions moral rules and how they are rules of thumb; well what he means by that
is that rules of thumb are rules that can be useful but do not always tell us what we
should do. I will now talk about my opinion about both Restricted and Extreme
utilitarianism s. To me they are very much similar and there is a very little difference
between both theories. I say that because when it comes to both articles, at the end
they both promote the most utility for the majority. In other word they both go there
different way but at the end of the day they are both the same thing and not much of
a difference is
Visual Arts Project Analysis
I m highly interested in proposing ways to create an artistic program for
underprivileged youth. After coming across young children from low income during
my media project in Romania, it has inspired me to implement a program to engage
youth with the arts. Some students are often gifted with the opportunity to pursue
their artistic expression; I want to help children who don t have the same equity to
enjoy visual arts educationin their spare time. In addition, from my previous
experience with arts in high school, I want to provide a program that gives the same
opportunities of artistic expression and leadership skills for young students in
marginalized communities in the Greater Toronto Area.

The curriculum is rigorous and factors like being away from home and not
knowing anyone can also add to the anxiety. The University of Chicago provides
various resources to keep the students out of harm s way. When I got the chance to
visit the campus, I noticed there were what seemed to be strange street lights all
over campus. These lights were questionable because they said emergency in big
bold letters. Later in the tour, I learned that these streetlights were emergency phones.
If a student felt like they are in any kind of danger, they can go to one of the 380
phones on campus. As well as the physical safety of the students, the University cares
for the mental safety of the students. The school provides academic support such as
student tutoring and even student counseling services. I think everyone can agree
that post secondary education is expensive and may be impossible for some families.
That s why the University s No Barriers program is so great. It waives the
application fee, doesn t make students pull out loans, and relives students of the
financial stress so that they can focus all of their attention on their education. If
someone is always worried about whether they will be able to pay for their next
class, instead of studying their hardest to pass the current class, priorities will be

Similarities Between Macbeth And Julius Caesar
The characters of two of Shakespeare s plays. Macbeth and Julius Caesar. These
men that were a millennium apart are similar but yet so different in their actions.

Greatest military minds the Romans ever saw. The other a King of Scotland in the

they gained this great power it corrupted them by giving them grief and madness.

the importance of this quote is that it is showing Macbeth going insane with guilt
and grief . This noticeable by finding out that Macbeth is the only one able to see
the ghost of Banquo. Macbeth feels this guilt over the killing of Banquo because
of the close friendship that they shared for many years, they had an warrior s bond

his ex son in law s death. Pompey the great was a member of the first triumvirate,
the members of that group were Crassus, Caesar, Pompey, to further this alliance

apart when Crassus died trying to conquer the eastern empire of Parthia, he did this
so that he could equal Caesar conquest of Gaul. What put the final nail in the coffin
is that Julia, who was Caesar s daughter died in childbirth. This severed the last bond

However, our zeal in that achievement sent our soldiers to die in Vietnam and Korea

major organs in the body, the kidneys can sometimes develop cancer. Your kidneys
are part of the urinary system, which removes waste and excess fluid and

The Chemistry of Love in Modern America Essay
The Wonderful World of Disney is magical land full of fun, happiness, friendships,
and love. Children from a young age are captivated by the colorful art, whacky
characters, and funny moments found in the classic cartoon films. The children may
walk away from the movie feeling happy, but their minds have been contaminated
with ideas far beyond their understanding; ideas specially pertaining to love. From
such a young age, children are used the idea of ideal love, love at first site, and
eternal love from Cinderella, Pocahontas, Beauty and the Beast, and many others. In
many of the love relationships found between the characters in these stories, there is a

love is not real. However, there may be real chemistry in this chemistry and this

they already expect chemistry to spark between them and without it, there is no

Commedia Dell Arte and Influences on Modern Theatre
Commedia dell Arte is an interesting form of acting in the history of theatre. During
the 16th, 17th and 18th century, in the midst of the renaissance, there was a very
delightful source of entertainment that people where privy too. This archaic form of
acting was based around improvising and the use of masks. I am comparing this to
modern day comedysince I have seen direct examples on television, which use this
method of acting, in modern day shows. The fact that some of these performers were
verging on genius is without dispute. Contemporary performers have looked into the
past finding resourceful techniques to further illustrate comedy to their peers.
The first question is why use Commedia Dell Arte as a training tool for modern ...

Fusing together these elements, a mask maker produces a shape that is no longer
purely human. Hence, if a human wears this mask, there are discrepancies between
mask and body, which counteract each other s expressiveness. It becomes necessary,
therefore, for the human to adjust his or her body shape to fit the mask. The design
and style that comes from the three elements of mask design allow the actor at any
point to move into animal movement, devilishly bad behavior or simply carry out the
order of the plot in role.
This juncture is an ideal place to start feeding specific instances of the characters
body language. Those who are capable of exploring attitudes, energy levels, and
their own inner resources can be guided through that process. Those who need
more encouragement, and have not yet learned to trust the passion for discovery
or their own emotions can be given more hard concrete information to work with.
The middle path must be looked for, and in this there is the whole tradition of the
commedia dell arte to help. A character survives on stage because it is alive. One of
the problems any performer or actor faces is selecting his or her material. In
traditional Commedia Dell Arte, this is key to success, and is needed on a moment
to moment basis. However, what becomes clear after a while is that commedia dell
arte works best as an ensemble art form. Which is true in theatre

In Valdivia, Chile 1960 an earthquake changed the lives of many. An earthquake is the
violent shaking of the ground that will destroy homes, buildings, landforms,
historical monuments, and lives. Earthquakes begin with the breakage of rock along
a fault line. When two tectonic plates rub against each other they create an earthquake
. Earthquakes will ride along a fault line which will determine how long the quake
will go on. The larger and longer the fault like the bigger the earthquake.
Earthquakes send out waves, primary waves or, p waves and secondary waves or, s
waves travel along the interior of the earth. These two waves are called body waves.
While detecting the waves, the primary waves appear first then the secondary
waves. Primary waves travel through solids, liquids, and gasses, which means they
are about to travel through the liquid center. Secondary waves are only able to travel
through solids which are why scientists have found that there is a loss of these waves
once they reach the center.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Before the quake hit the day before, there were a series of shocks that tipped off to
people of Chile that something was coming. The day that the earthquake hit, it was
a rated a 9.5 on the Richter Scale. The intensity of this caused thousands of
buildings to be destroyed and 2,000,000 people left homeless. The population of
the city had greatly decreased and the city also needed to pay for the damage to be
repaired. It would be 800 million American dollars to complete the cleanup and
repairs of the city almost completely. This earthquake was called The Great Chilean
Earthquake because of the total destruction and because of the expansion of it where
other countries received the aftershocks and effects. Japan had received a tsunami a
day later, killing 138 people and leaving 1600 homes destroyed. Japan was left to pay

The sun offers many benefits, and it allows us to survive, but the sun can also
damage our society with large CME s(Coronal Mass Ejection). If a CME is large

In 1989 a cloud of hot plasma traveling across the solar system at a million miles per

power due to the sun. Through the power outage of 1989, the fact that
electromagnetic forces released by solar storms, can cause disruptions in the power

Every year thousands of immigrant whether legal or illegal derived from different
countries to come to the United States. Those immigrants have different ambitions
and different backgrounds when they settled in the United States. Some arrived
here for a better life; others are refugees or escaping from a bad situation. It is
extremely hard to adapt to a country where the norms are completely different from
where you come from. Each immigrant encountered different obstacles such as
identity problems; confusion, isolation and so much more, but all of them always

different immigrants and how their life changed once they moved to the United

environment where everything seems upside and no place of acceptance. One Out
of Many by Naipaul is a story about a named Santosh who moved from Bombay to
Washington. Santosh was really happy with his country, but everything changed
when the diplomat he worked for was assigned to move to Washington. Santosh

Book Of Revelations Essay
Book of Revelations
When will the end come? It is human nature for humans to ask questions. Many of
these questions are without answers and there is no possible way to come up with
one. A common question that plagues the human race is When will the world end?
For thousands of years, astrologers and psychics have been trying to come up with
clues to when it all will end. There is a source, the Bible, which aids humans,
specifically Christians, in trying to come up with some answers. Many places in the
Bible such as Revelations, Ezekiel, Matthew, Daniel, and I Corinthians all give some
clues to how and when the end of the world will come. Two articles that give some
insight on this subject are Visions or Heaven, Dreams of the End by ... Show more

The Catholic Church, even though they do not speak of the Rapture (McBride
amp; Praem, 65) believes that we will be with God someday. They are not sure
though how this will happen (McBride amp; Praem, 58). The second question a
millenarian would ask is What about the years of tribulation? A millenarian says
that there will be seven years of tribulation. They base this claim on the happenings
in the book of Revelations. In the Book of Revelations the number seven is used
several times like, the seven seals, the seven trumpets, and so on. Nevertheless,
millenarians are not sure when all of this will happen. The Catholic Church believes
though that the tribulations will come along with the Second Coming. The third
question is What, exactly, is meant by millennium? In the American Heritage
Dictionary, millennium is defined as In the NT, a thousand year period in which
Jesus is to reign on Earth. (American Heritage Dictionary, 529). This same
definition is found in The Book of Revelations 20:1 6 (McBride amp; Praem, 61).
Millenarians believe that after the seven years of tribulations and the Battle of
Armageddon, comes the millennium as described in Revelations, will come. The
final question is When can we expect the Second Coming? Millenarians believe that
the Second Coming is the last criteria for the end of the world. Not only
Josephine Baker Analysis
Josephine Baker reached the height of her fame during the 1920s, however, she
still was not able to speak about her work and explain what her performances were
trying to convey. This left the audience to decipher the performances for
themselves, while doing so this highlighted the racism that was still apparent in
France. In Phyllis Rose s book Jazz Cleopatra: Josephine Baker in Her Time She
shows quotes from the tabloids saying, We can t find a way to tie the scenes
together, but everything we ve ever read flashes across our enchanted
minds...glimpses of enormous steamboats swallowing clusters of Negros who
carry rich burdens . (Rose, 1991) The Parisians visiting Bakers show at the Revue
Negre interpreted her show based on what they understood Africa to be. Baker was
able to make a lasting impact with her unique look and style and was able to
entertain crowds with her rubber legs (Rose, 1991) and crossed eyes (Rose, 1991)
during a time in which racism was the norm. While she did not exercise complete
control over her own image (Jules Rosette 2007) she used the stage as a way of
expressing herself which she could not do with her voice. In doing so Baker has
influenced many performers today. Most notably she inspired BeyoncГ©

Bethany Van Delft Down Syndrome Essay
As a child, Down syndrome was a part of my everyday life. I was watched after

her sister who had Down syndrome. To me it was nothing unusual. It wasn t until
about eighth grade that I realized that to other people it wasn t normal, it had a

How Has the Internet Affected Sex Addiction
Running head: How has the Internet Affected Sex Addiction
How has the Internet Affected Sex Addiction
Edward Vega Jr.
National University
Abstract
Sex addicts have plenty to struggle without adding the access to their wildest
fantasies. That is what the Internet has given them. Addicts can get online and search
pornography, cybersex sites and sites where they can find people to meet up with.
The Internet makes it that much easier for sex addicts because just like any other
addict they are ashamed of their addiction but with the Internet they do not have to
worry about it cause they can do whatever they want from the comfort of their own
home. What we need to understand is that sex addicts are not born sex addicts. Some

The sex addict engages in sex to feel better about them self. They became so
consumed with this feeling that they soon avoid their responsibilities; work, family,
school etc.
Things like cybersex and sex shops have a big impact on marriages, families and
even the addict themselves. Consumers of cybersex may manifest changes in sleep
patterns, demands for privacy and isolation, disregard for responsibilities, changes
in personality, loss of interest in partner sex, and decline in relationship investment
all of which impact one s spouse and family (Young et al., 2000) (Journal of Marital
and Family Therapy, 2008). Addicts worry so much about getting their fix that they
never stop and think about the people around them. It is no longer come home from
work and cook dinner or help around the house, it is all about coming home from
work and getting on the best porn site or sex cam.
Most families get use to a routine of some sort and for the most part stick to that
routine on a day to day basis. By doing this we are building confidence, security
and relationships with our family. Now if the routine was to change in any way it
would affect people in different ways. So when a family member starts to get more
and more involved with cybersex it really has an impact on the whole family. This is
what an article from Journal of Marital and Family Therapy had to say,

How To Create Suspense In Rattarake
RATTLESNAKE is a very compelling action thriller with a hit of a modern western.
The plot keeps the audience engaged.
The goal is clear and the stakes are deadly. The tone is gritty. There are solid
themes about second chances and survival. The perceived protagonist has to
overcome many obstacles to survive. There s a feeling of a nicely crafted ticking
clock tension. The action is also well constructed. There s good visual storytelling,
such as when Marcos is shot.
The script uses some of the techniques that make for a compelling thriller, including
an isolated setting, being cut off from communication, the sense of being stalked, and
the threat of being harmed or killed.

Also, to make Claire a stronger character, give her more inner conflict and struggle
about her stepfather and/or mother. This is touched upon, but not fully developed.
In addition, give Claire a fear i.e. spiders or snakes. The snake is foreshadowed, but
it s not clearly established that this is an overwhelming fear for Claire and that she
will have to overcome this fear in the climax to defeat the foe. Remember, what
works best in these types of stories are when the hero or heroine has to overcome
their inner fears, before they can defeat the foe. So if Claire has a strong fear of
spiders or snakes, in the climax she will have to be seen overcoming this. For
example, the totem that she uses to attack Ajax with might be next to a snake.
However, if indeed Hank is truly the main protagonist and hero, then set up the
robbery, the digging scene and then transition directly to the ranch, revealing Hank
working there. Introduce the other characters at the ranch including, perhaps even
Claire as to not confuse the audience about the true protagonist. She can still be from
a rehab.
Or make the scene at the rehab brief as, again, not to confuse the audience about the
true protagonist.

Cosmopolitanism Essay
The ideal society for many of us is a place in which mutual respect exists for all. A
place where despite our different perspective and beliefs we can come together and
coexist in peace. This ideology is called cosmopolitanism. The idea of a cosmopolitan
society has been around for thousands of years, it has created controversial arguments
on whether its principles could benefit our community by helping us achieve a deeper
level of understanding towards one another. Throughout the world, there are disputes
because of our different perspectives and values. What if we could mitigate conflicts
by integrating cosmopolitanisminto our daily lives? In Appiah s text, Making
Conversation, he contributes fundamental ideas that could help society achieve and
understand the notion of cosmopolitanism. Many cultures hold beliefs contrary to
ours. In many cases, these practices can be taboo to us but acceptable to others.
Cosmopolitanism is the solution to our conflicts that stem from a disparate set of
views of how things should occur. Applying the notion of cosmopolitanism can aid us
in our quest to understand and respect others, take into account our differences, and
remain open minded to the diverse ways of living life.
In, Making Conversations, Appiah explains that in the past, our population was much
smaller than what it is today. The immense strain on methods of communication
hindered our ability to further interact with others. However, this is no longer the
case in our

Erikson s Eight Psychosocial Stages Of Human Development
Discussions about identity most often than not begins with Erikson s formulation of
the eight psychosocial stages of human development. Each success that is achieved is
caused due to the completion or overcoming of a task or crisis. When a child grows
into adolescence, he/she arrives at the fifth stage of human development. Identity
versus role confusion is examined and experienced as the young adult either
overcomes the task by developing an identity or by facing a crisis of confusion. At
this point, the teenager is dealing with a unified and consistent sense of self that
integrates pubertal changes into a mature sexual identity, assumes adult social and
occupational roles, and established personal values and attitudes The adolescent is...

Because adolescence continues as long as society allows, the search for identity
characterized by the moratorium status may continue into young adulthood. In my
opinion, if TCKs fall in the moratorium status, it s not a negative result. Creating an
identity for yourself when you are at that age is struggle enough when you are
situated in one culture for all of your existence; therefore it is understandable that
most TCKs find themselves taking longer in their identity crises than most teenagers.
The moratorium status allows TCKs to struggle through their crises without any need
for commitment. This may be seen as unhealthy but it is justifiable considering their
confusion in regards to their identity. The fourth status is diffusion, when adolescents
avoid the challenge and refuse to make a commitment. Most TCKs tend to fall in the
last category. These developmental tasks like making a commitment and handling a
crisis tend to be interrupted due certain factors in their lives. Due to these
interruptions we see both early maturity and delayed adolescence in TCKs which
negatively affect their the development of their

the bakery since the day it opened, Taylor. Taylor was a kind hearted soul who would
help anyone in need. She would always be willing to stay late or come in early with a

bakery.
One day a couple came in telling Linda that they forgot to order a cake for their
wedding that was two days away. Linda completely understood the situation and of
course said yes. Once she told us I was the first one that said I would stay late and
help make the wedding cake. Linda and Taylor were both happy because they both
knew they needed the help. Later that day when we started baking the cake Linda
got a migraine and had to leave and go home, so Taylor and I continued on working
on the cake. It was getting kind of late so we found a stopping point. After cleaning
up and closing down for the night I hung my apron and said I would see her in the
morning. Once I got to my truck I released I forgot my phone inside and luckily
Taylor did not lock the door yet. I went back inside to look for where I left it. I could
not find it in the back where we were baking nor could I find Taylor, which I
thought was a little odd. I headed to the front to see if

Now that we have seen some of the symbols that could have affected Felipe s mind,
now we will explore some of the symbols that indicate something was going on
behind the scenes. The fist symbol I would mention is darkness. As I stated earlier, it
is primarily a symbol of removal from God and the light, the prescence of evil. The
ever present darkness represents some undercurrent of evil that runs throughout the
story.
Cats are also an important symbol. The first sign we get of any cats is the sound of
their painful yowling . Later Felipe sees some of them being burned alive. Some of
the things cats can represent are independence and self sufficiency. Their destruction
leads one to believe that Felipe s independence is being replaced by dependence and
his self sufficiency is being replaced by reliance on Aura.

stage of development and distribution. Nuclear Power has many benefits compared
to f of However, nuclear power also remains one of the most controversial sources of
energy. The debates on it are mainly based along the lines of environmental, safety
and security.
History
Since 1939 when Hahn and Strassman found that fission released energy and
neutrons to help uranium nuclei to be a self sustaining chain reaction that would lead
to an enormous release of energy (WNA), harassing nuclear fission become an
important part in creating a nuclear bomb. The government had control over all
nuclear research and began the Manhattan Project. In June 1942 the US Army took
over process development, engineering design, procurement of materials and site
selection for pilot plants for four methods of making fissionable material (WNA).
Until after World War II nuclear reactors were harnessing nuclear powerfor other
reasons than for electricity. After World War II the idea of using nuclear energy for
good, rather than for war was a reason not to keep all nuclear research controlled by
military organizations. Electricity was generated for the first time by a nuclear
reactor on December 20, 1951 near Arco, Idaho.
Nuclear power uses Uranium. Mining is the only way to obtain Uranium 238 which

their boiling points. Since toluene has a higher boiling point, it will left at the bottom
while the hexane starts to boil out and collect in the Hickman still. GC measurements
help us in determining how accurate our data is by making a graph of the amount of
hexane and toluene in each fraction. Also this lab gives experience with semi micro...

For instance hexanes boiling occurs at a lower heat setting so that is why in the
first fraction we can view a greater peak of hexanes than toluene. In the third
fraction we notice that toluene is found in higher abundances there. This helps
when trying to distill out or separate the two compounds. b. Are the GC data
consistent with your expectations? The GC data is what is expected, however
there were some difference noticed with it than expected. For instance, the first
fraction came out with more toluene that was originally expected and the graph
showed this. Small unexpected material like this was the only thing not expected
with the GC data. 4. Most of you did not have enough time to complete the
redistillations of Fraction 1 and Fraction 3, but you are still equipped to anticipate
the results. a. For the redistillation of Fraction 1, predict how the gas chromatogram
for the initial fraction would have differed from the gas chromatogram of Fraction
1 from Distillation 1. The peaks would be more pronounced and there would be a
greater variance in the size of the peaks. Peak 1 would be much higher and steeper
and peak 3 or the toluene peak would be found much smaller. b. Similarly, for the
redistillation of Fraction 3, predict how the gas chromatogram for the final fraction
would have differed from the gas chromatogram of Fraction 3 from Distillation 1. b.i.

Why I Want To Doodle
Most people like to doodle or draw but most don t plan on making a business out of
it. I particularly draw zentangles which is the creation of images through repetitive
patterns. I learned about the art of zentangles when I was in eighth grade through my
art teacher. Since then I have been hooked on drawingzentangles in any spare time
that I have. For me it is all about seeing different items or images and turning it into
something new and creative. It usually takes me a couple of hours to complete one
zentangle due to all the detail I enjoy adding in.
My freshman year of high school I continued to draw and improve on my zentagles.
Due to the fact that I enjoyed drawing them so much I decided I would make a career
out of it. I have always
The Effect of Classical Music on Exam Scores Essays
Taking tests in the academic environment has been the mainstay for evaluating
student s comprehension and mastery of concepts learned. Although this can reflect
an accurate depiction of their retained knowledge, many factors may affect the
recollection of tested material. Students of all ages can experience a certain level of
stress when entering the testing environment, which may have a negative impact on
their ability to recall information. This stress may reflect an inaccuracy of what they
recalled. Countless factors have been shown to impact test taking ability including
environmental noise or lack thereof, anxiety, and self confidence. These factors affect

Reminders Of Grief
Avoiding Reminders of the Deceased We may avoid places or things that trigger
painful feelings of grief. When we get rid of belongings right away, it can lead to
complicated bereavement.
Visiting Places or Carrying Objects that Remind Us of the Deceased Often we have
an underlying fear of losing memories of the deceased.
Crying There is potential healing value in crying, because our tears release mood
altering chemicals.
Searching or Calling Out for the Deceased.

With an overwhelming sense of missing the person you ve loved there comes the
crushing awareness of all that you ve lost (Howarth, 2011). You would now give
anything to be together again, if only long enough to be relieved of your loneliness

sorrow. Instead we are either taught or learn how to control our feelings and hide
our pain so we don t disturb other people. As a child I learned that grief is a taboo
subject, that your feelings should be buried, and that grieving should be done alone
other than the occasional scenes at the funeral service. As an adult, I ve associated
grieving with self indulgence or self pity. You start to become isolated, different
and apart from everyone else, and have now convinced yourself that no one
understands and you must grieve on your own. You may feel stunned at the
normalcy of life around you as people go about their business, totally unaware that
your world has stopped and your entire life has been turned upside down. But at the

Chronic Stress Can Damage Brain Structure And
Connectivity
The news article I have decided to focus on is called Chronic Stress Can Damage
brain Structure and Connectivity . The author, Christopher Bergland, discusses a
study that was done at Berkeley and researchers discovered that chronic stress
actually causes long term changes in the brain. Bergland (2014) makes an
interesting point in the beginning of the article about how children who are exposed
to chronic stress are more likely that have problems with anxiety and mood disorders.
A majority of the article focuses on the revolutionary experiments Daniela Kaufter, a
UC Berkeley associate professor, conducted. These experiments are so significant
because they show that chronic stress and elevated levels of cortisol can generate
more overproduction of myelin producing cells and fewer neurons than normal.
Bergland (2014) then discusses the grey matter in the brain, which is packed full of
nerve cell bodies and is where the brain does higher functions. He also discusses
white matter , which is full of axons that connect neurons and makes a network of
communications between different regions of the brain. The author (2014) says that
the white matter in the brain is called that because the myelin sheath that surrounds
the axons is white and fatty and speeds the flow of electrical signals between
neurons and brain regions. Kaufer s experiments focus specifically on the
hippocampus, which is responsible for memory and emotions and can shrink under
periods of stress. The
Child Hunger In America Research Paper
When people ask me what I think the biggest problem in the America is today, my
answer doesn t really hit me until I least expect it to. I grew up loving family get
togethers, celebrations and any other event resulting in my family going all out on
cooking and making sure there are seconds for everyone there. No body left a
family get together hungry. I remember sitting down many times and not being
able to finish all of the food I thought I could. The silent walk to the trash can trying
to have let no one see everything I wasted, I humbly slid past the crowd. It s not
until that very moment a family member says You re not going to eat that? That is
such a waste of food. Just then it would hit me and I would feel bad. Reminiscing on

Resulting in distraction of work during school and life long health issues. Studies
have shown that children who do not get the proper nutritious everyday meals they
should get, their major organs will be affected, leading to or contributing to a variety
of ailments. Hunger is tied with stomachaches, headaches, depression, anxiety and a
decreased ability to focus. I believe hungry kids also struggle socially and
behaviorally, making their experiences in school less than enjoyable. Resulting in
Ethics And Code Of Ethics
Ethics are concerned with how human been ought to act given a certain set of
condition. The ethics govern an individual while making decisions especially when
multiple choices are represented. Business, for instance, has set of principles which

their duty .The set of rules and principles refer to the code of ethics. The code of

Nathaniel Hawthorne Puritan Influence Nathaniel Hawthorne drew from his personal

Hawthorne mentioning his Puritan ancestors in the beginning of his book shows that
he studied the topic of puritanism before talking about it. Hester Prynne was a
character well developed by Hawthorne who goes through problems that society
could possibly go through. In Hawthorne s novel The Scarlet Letter before the
novel began critics talked about the book and the characters, and gave a good
description to Hester Prynne as a Creation of someone who loved woman, saw her,
as verdi did, as necessary tragic and alone, but emotionally sacred in a diminished

College Motivation In College
College is a big step for anyone looking to attend. Anxiousness kicks in throughout
the whole senior year. That one word is what defines me these past few months,
that one word is constantly in my head: anxious. This is the point in time where it
is my time to grow and mature into a successful student as my parents and family
want from me. That is part of the reason why I m so anxious for the next step in my
life. I want to make my family and friends proud of me by continuing school and
actually finishing it, however I view the pressure as motivation as well and not just
as a negative thing. Another type of motivation for me would be failure, without it I
wouldn t learn from any mistakes.
Many things are required or are a necessity for college, from FASFA (Free
Application for Federal Student Aid) to Cal Grants (a financial aid program
administrated by the California Student Aid Commission) and SAT. (The
Scholastic Aptitude Test) I feel like being anxious is normal for teens around this
time of year. Just last week, I signed up for the SAT which I m already nervous for,
because my results are crucial for college reviews. And just yesterday I filled out my
FAFSA and I m even nervous for that. The money that I potentially can get is a big
part of my future because the more I get, the less loans I would need. And with the
loans, I can possibly go into debt in the future. Same thing goes for the Cal Grants
and scholarships. So my question for any senior in high school looking

Diverticulitis is a condition in which diverticuli in the colon rupture. The rupture
results in infection in the tissues that surround the colon (MedicineNet, 2010, para.1).
Or at least that s what MedicineNet.com states that it is. Sometimes what we find on
the Internet isn t as reliable as what we may think. Doing research and finding correct
and reliable information is very important in the nursing practice. There is so much
information available at our fingertips, but finding accurate information is sometimes

inaccurate. The purpose of this assignment is to evaluate the validity of three health

I believe this site to be a valid one because there is an ample amount of credibility
with the standards that they follow and the information is provided by the expertise

The third site that I will evaluate is MedlinePlus. This site is the National Institute
of Health s Web site for patients and their families and friends (MedlinePlus, 2010,
para.1) and it is produced by the National Library of Medicine (NLM). The website
provides information on the latest treatments, information on drugs and
supplements, definitions of words and you can also review certain medical videos.
Dr. Donald A.B. Lindberg is the Director of the site and of the National Library of
Medicine. He calls this site a goldmine of good health information from the world s
largest medical library (MedlinePlus, 2010, para. 3). It has extensive information
from the National Institutes of Health and various trusted sources on over 800
diseases and conditions (MedlinePlus, 2010). Just like the other two websites that I
have chosen, the site is not meant to provide medical advice. Instead it provides
consumers with information to better understand their health and any illness they
may have.
The site does not provide an address for MedlinePlus. However, the location for the

Delving into the psyche of Macbeth and exploring the consequences of unchecked ambition requires a careful examination of the play's structure, symbolism, and character development. Moreover, tackling the tragedy of Macbeth necessitates a keen awareness of the broader cultural and historical backdrop of the Elizabethan era. Shakespeare's works are layered with references and allusions that add depth to the narrative, making it imperative for the essay writer to navigate through these subtleties. Verizon s senior management were focused on increasing their network of coverage, which was their distinctive capability, so they could have an advantage over their competitors. Now, Verizon needed to find ways to improve their network and with all of the data that was provided to them from their customers they were able to use analytics to further improve themselves and stay competitive. I believe Verizon s current status is in stage 4. Senior executives are committed to using analytics to better utilize the network and better serve our customers. We are in the process of trying to use analytics to differentiate ourselves from our competitors and streamline those analytic processes across the company so that everyone is on the same page and we are efficient. Verizon already uses a good amount of analytical techniques that have helped the company get to the position that it currently is in today. • 4. Prufrock T.S. Eliot s poem The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock examines a single character, Prufrock, who has been influenced by three very different modes of thinking: Romanticism, Realism, and Modernism. These influences cause inner conflict within the character that he struggles to overcome throughout the course of the poem. Eliot s Prufrock is both psychologically and socially crippled because he embodies both Romantic and Realist ideals, i.e. the heroism of the individual and the awareness of insurmountable, objective realities, respectively, while possessing the self conscious mind of a man influenced by a culture of Modernism. Robert Cook, in his analysis, titled Emerson s Self Reliance, Sweeney, and Prufrock, of Ralph Emerson s self reliant man, the epitome of a Romantic, and T.S. Eliot s Prufrock, draws a number of distinctions between the two writers. He holds that Prufrock is Eliot s more realistic response to Emerson s idealistic man. Ron Banerjee examines the epigraphof the poem, which is a verse from Dante s Divine Comedy, and, among other things, discovers how it illuminates the unchangeable reality of the world around Prufrock. Romanticism heralds the heroism and nonconformity of the noble individual. The desire to be great and known is innate to all men, including Prufrock; however, Prufrock s crippling self consciousness disables him from breaking away from society as the true Romantic man would strive to do. It is evident by reading the poem that Prufrock
  • 5. Analysis Of The Myth Of Robber Barons Throughout American industrialization, large industries were run by some of the richest men in history. These men got the nickname robber barons due to their creation of large monopolies by making questionable business and government activities, and by taking advantage of their workers to succeed. But in The Myth of the Robber Baronsby Burton W. Folsom, he argues against these claims, and he takes a deeper look into some of America s richest and most successful men. By specifically looking at Cornelius Vanderbilt, John D. Rockefeller, James J. Despite the fact that government grants led to incompetent railroads, the Interstate Commerce Commission and Hepburn Act were put into place, which made it so Hill could not offer rate discounts on exports traveling on the Great Northern en route to the Orient which was helping improve the economy with increased trade. Hill and other market entrepreneurs were not corrupt or unfair when choosing to not have subsides, but rather the political entrepreneurs were corrupt and insolvent. Also, Folsom argues that John D. Rockefeller was negatively impacted by government intervention. The Sherman Act was intended to prevent monopolies and those companies in restraint of trade . Yet Standard Oilhad no monopoly and certainly was not restraining trade . Rockefeller s goal was not to create a monopoly but in order to keep his business succeeding he needed directors in each state. By enacting the Sherman Act, Rockefeller s company struggled, due to competition rising. These laws essentially stopped the growth of successful businesses, such as Hill and Rockefeller, who became so successful due to no government intervention. Many saw robber barons as deceitful, but this is actually not the case. Within The Myth of Robber Barons,

To wrap it all up, according to smart, the main difference between extreme and restricted utilitarianism is that restricted utilitarians hold that conformity to rules determines right action and extreme utilitarians do not. In addition, according to extreme utilitarianism, if someone does a morally right action, then they do not commit themselves to one version or another. On the other hand, smart mentions moral rules and how they are rules of thumb; well what he means by that is that rules of thumb are rules that can be useful but do not always tell us what we should do. The design and style that comes from the three elements of mask design allow the actor at any point to move into animal movement, devilishly bad behavior or simply carry out the order of the plot in role. Many of these questions are without answers and there is no possible way to come up with one. A common question that plagues the human race is When will the world end? For thousands of years, astrologers and psychics have been trying to come up with clues to when it all will end. There is a source, the Bible, which aids humans, specifically Christians, in trying to come up with some answers. Many places in the Bible such as Revelations, Ezekiel, Matthew, Daniel, and I Corinthians all give some clues to how and when the end of the world will come. A millenarian says that there will be seven years of tribulation. They base this claim on the happenings in the book of Revelations. In the Book of Revelations the number seven is used several times like, the seven seals, the seven trumpets, and so on. Nevertheless, millenarians are not sure when all of this will happen. The Catholic Church believes though that the tribulations will come along with the Second Coming. The third question is What, exactly, is meant by millennium? In the American Heritage Dictionary, millennium is defined as In the NT, a thousand year period in which Jesus is to reign on Earth. (American Heritage Dictionary, 529). This same definition is found in The Book of Revelations 20:1 6 (McBride amp; Praem, 61). Millenarians believe that after the seven years of tribulations and the Battle of Armageddon, comes the millennium as described in Revelations, will come. Josephine Baker Analysis Josephine Baker reached the height of her fame during the 1920s, however, she still was not able to speak about her work and explain what her performances were trying to convey. This left the audience to decipher the performances for themselves, while doing so this highlighted the racism that was still apparent in France. In Phyllis Rose s book Jazz Cleopatra: Josephine Baker in Her Time She shows quotes from the tabloids saying, We can t find a way to tie the scenes together, but everything we ve ever read flashes across our enchanted minds...glimpses of enormous steamboats swallowing clusters of Negros who carry rich burdens . (Rose, 1991) The Parisians visiting Bakers show at the Revue Negre interpreted her show based on what they understood Africa to be. Baker was able to make a lasting impact with her unique look and style and was able to entertain crowds with her rubber legs (Rose, 1991) and crossed eyes (Rose, 1991) during a time in which racism was the norm. While she did not exercise complete control over her own image (Jules Rosette 2007) she used the stage as a way of expressing herself which she could not do with her voice. The Internet makes it that much easier for sex addicts because just like any other addict they are ashamed of their addiction but with the Internet they do not have to worry about it cause they can do whatever they want from the comfort of their own home. In addition, give Claire a fear i.e. spiders or snakes. The snake is foreshadowed, but it s not clearly established that this is an overwhelming fear for Claire and that she will have to overcome this fear in the climax to defeat the foe. Remember, what works best in these types of stories are when the hero or heroine has to overcome their inner fears, before they can defeat the foe. The idea of a cosmopolitan society has been around for thousands of years, it has created controversial arguments on whether its principles could benefit our community by helping us achieve a deeper level of understanding towards one another. Throughout the world, there are disputes because of our different perspectives and values. What if we could mitigate conflicts by integrating cosmopolitanisminto our daily lives? In many cases, these practices can be taboo to us but acceptable to others. Cosmopolitanism is the solution to our conflicts that stem from a disparate set of views of how things should occur. Identity versus role confusion is examined and experienced as the young adult either overcomes the task by developing an identity or by facing a crisis of confusion. As a child I learned that grief is a taboo subject, that your feelings should be buried, and that grieving should be done alone other than the occasional scenes at the funeral service. As an adult, I ve associated grieving with self indulgence or self pity. A majority of the article focuses on the revolutionary experiments Daniela Kaufter, a UC Berkeley associate professor, conducted. These experiments are so significant because they show that chronic stress and elevated levels of cortisol can generate more overproduction of myelin producing cells and fewer neurons than normal. Bergland (2014) then discusses the grey matter in the brain, which is packed full of nerve cell bodies and is where the brain does higher functions. He also discusses white matter , which is full of axons that connect neurons and makes a network of communications between different regions of the brain. The author (2014) says that the white matter in the brain is called that because the myelin sheath that surrounds the axons is white and fatty and speeds the flow of electrical signals between neurons and brain regions. Kaufer s experiments focus specifically on the hippocampus, which is responsible for memory and emotions and can shrink under periods of stress. The
  • 44. Child Hunger In America Research Paper When people ask me what I think the biggest problem in the America is today, my answer doesn t really hit me until I least expect it to. I grew up loving family get togethers, celebrations and any other event resulting in my family going all out on cooking and making sure there are seconds for everyone there. No body left a family get together hungry. I remember sitting down many times and not being able to finish all of the food I thought I could. The silent walk to the trash can trying to have let no one see everything I wasted, I humbly slid past the crowd. It s not until that very moment a family member says You re not going to eat that? That is such a waste of food. Just then it would hit me and I would feel bad. Reminiscing on all... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 47. College Motivation In College College is a big step for anyone looking to attend. Anxiousness kicks in throughout the whole senior year. That one word is what defines me these past few months, that one word is constantly in my head: anxious. This is the point in time where it is my time to grow and mature into a successful student as my parents and family want from me. That is part of the reason why I m so anxious for the next step in my life. I want to make my family and friends proud of me by continuing school and actually finishing it, however I view the pressure as motivation as well and not just as a negative thing. Another type of motivation for me would be failure, without it I wouldn t learn from any mistakes. Many things are required or are a necessity for college, from FASFA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) to Cal Grants (a financial aid program administrated by the California Student Aid Commission) and SAT. (The Scholastic Aptitude Test) I feel like being anxious is normal for teens around this time of year. Just last week, I signed up for the SAT which I m already nervous for, because my results are crucial for college reviews. And just yesterday I filled out my FAFSA and I m even nervous for that. Same thing goes for the Cal Grants and scholarships. So my question for any senior in high school looking

This site is the National Institute of Health s Web site for patients and their families and friends (MedlinePlus, 2010, para.1) and it is produced by the National Library of Medicine (NLM). The website provides information on the latest treatments, information on drugs and supplements, definitions of words and you can also review certain medical videos. Dr. Donald A.B. He calls this site a goldmine of good health information from the world s largest medical library (MedlinePlus, 2010, para. 3). It has extensive information from the National Institutes of Health and various trusted sources on over 800 diseases and conditions (MedlinePlus, 2010). Just like the other two websites that I have chosen, the site is not meant to provide medical advice.
