Wes Anderson s The Grand Budapest Hotel
Wes Anderson s The Grand Budapest Hotel (2014), is a narrative that takes the form of many
stories within another. Considered a film masterpiece not only for its use of thoughtful comedy but
also for the way in which the film was enhanced through the use of camera angles. Love and death,
romance and horror, comedyand tragedy duel to an elegant draw in Wes Anderson s rich torte of a
movie , as stated by Richard Corliss from Time Magazine. The constant use of straight angles gives
the filman unmistakably elegant quality. Cinematographically, this film was created with great
precision, making it feel more like a theater performance rather than a film. The use of thoughtful
and quirky humor truly brings this picture to life, making The Grand Budapest Hotel truly grand.
The use of thoughtful comedy throughout serves several purposes. The characters are an example
of this, through their representations they are able to create specific correlations that are key to the
film overall. It is through their mannerisms and quirky, thoughtful humor that the characters are
brought to life. This film allocates the use of cameraangles thus allowing it an elegant feature,
while humor is used to create a ...real, funny, sad movie whose performances are as alert and
finely composed as the dГ©cor . Richard Corliss, from Time Magazine, states that the film is a
dizzyingly complex machine whose workings are a delight to behold, the movie has a wry smile

Analysis Of The Last Of The Nine Stories
The last of the Nine Stories, Teddy is a complex and philosophy rich testament to Salinger s own
Eastern leanings. The eponymous protagonist is the obvious source of this deep thought, as he
believes himself to be in the later stages of Enlightenment, and speaks freely of his own ideas
and sentiments. However, the plot, as well as the style in which it is written, also speak of
convoluted ideas and symbols. The interplay between character and theme is constant and can be
interpreted in myriad ways, especially given the frustratingly vague ending. All of these aspects
work together to form a work of fiction which has caused significant controversy and confusion
over the years. Though there aren t many prominent characters in Teddy, it is important to
remember that even those whom we see only briefly contribute significantly to the themes and
development of the other characters. Teddy s parents give a glimpse into the implied childhood of
the boy, potentially offering another interpretation of his character. With their dislike of each other
and of Teddy, it s possible that, rather than being a true Zen master, Teddy could just be an
unloved 10 year old, who struggles to interact meaningfully with the world. He uses his persona of
Eastern philosopher to pull away from his parents and his own emotions, guarding himself from
any pain he might feel at his parents disregard for him (Kaufman). Booper, on the other hand, has
been shaped by these negative emotions, and has

Canada s First Nations Safe Water Crisis Essay
Canada, like so many other countries in the world continues to deal with many different
environmental resource issues. Throughout our history, one of the issues affecting our country has
been the treatment of our First Nations people. For the purpose of this paper, the focus will be on
the safe water crisis facing Canada s First Nationscommunities. The Oxford Dictionary (2016)
defines a crisis as a time of great difficulty or danger. The research included will help clarify the
reality of the Canada s First Nations safe water crisis. Despite some improvements over the past
few decades, many of our First Nation citizens still lack access to safe and clean water. Our
reserves have water that is contaminated, difficult to access or toxic because of outdated and faulty
treatment systems. (Klasing, 2016) This safe water crisis is in need of immediate attention. It is
Canada s responsibility to provide the right to clean and safe water for all of its citizens.
To understand the current state of the safe water issue for our First Nation people, it is important
to look at some current statistics. The Council of Canadians (2015) reports that as of January 2015,
there have been 169 drinking water advisories in 126 First Nation communities. With Ontario
having the highest number 79, followed by British Columbia 35, Saskatchewan 24, Alberta 17, the
Atlantic 7 and Quebec 2. (p. 6) The graphic below helps us see the severity of the issue by showing

Balzac And The Little Seamstress By Dai Sijie
In the book Balzac and the Little Seamstress, by Dai Sijie, A re education process is taking place.
Children are being sent away from home for extended periods of time to be re educated to the
government s standards. The main characters, Lou and the Narrator have been sent to live in a
mountain village to complete this process. While they are there, they go and meet an old friend of
theirs who has something they desire, books. In order to receive these books they decide to run an
errand for their friend, Four Eyes. After running his errand, Four Eyes is granted his completion of
his re educationprocess and his village is preparing a celebration for his completion of the process.

The narrator brings to attention the appetising aroma and the frequent raising of the lid as well.
These details bring to the passage a sense of how large this feast actually was and how others in
the village might have been jealous of Four Eyes. The narrator said that Luo and himself were
so far away that they couldn t even make out words the sorceresses were saying to Four Eyes,
yet they could distinctly smell the cooking of the feast. This also helps emphasize the importance
of feasts in the community s culture. The feast they were preparing was huge. All the villagers
were contributing in some way or another. You had people contribute in preparation as well as
people contributing ingredients. These details also bring to attention a sense of unity within the
community s culture. Only Four Eyes was being released from his re education, but as a result,
the whole community got to celebrate and enjoy the feast with him. Besides selection of detail,
the narrator also uses uneasy diction to describe how the feast was being prepared. He uses words
and phrases such as honour and more and more penetrating. These specific word choices emphasize
that some of the villagers, including the narrator, may feel trapped about the situation. In other
words, they don t necessarily want to celebrate Four Eyes release from re education, but they are
obligated to based on the customs of their community. This emphasis can be more accurately

Essay on The Five Pillars of Islam
Islam is a religion of peace. There are 5 pillars of Islam which are mandatory. The five pillars are,
Shahadah, Salat, Zakat, Sawm, and Hajj, I will define the five pillars now.
1.Shahadah: Beleiving that there is no God but Allah, and Muhammad [peace be upon him] is his
last messanger.
2.Salat: It is the prayers muslims offer five times a day, Fajr, zuhr, asr, maghrib and isha.
3.Zakat: It is to give 2.5% annually of one s saving to the needy people.
4.Sawm: Fasting during the month of Ramadan to learn to have a control over yourself.
5.Hajj: To go to Mekkah and Medina to perform pilgrimage once in a life time at least, if you can

Muhammad [peace be upon him] the dearest prophet to Allah (SWT) , Holy Qur an was relived
on Muhammad [peace be upon him] by revelations through Prophet Gibrael [peace be upon him]
in 7 years. The religion Islam was completed 1400 years ago, and Muhammad [peace be upon
him] is Allah s last messanger. Muhammad [peace be upon him] is an ideal personality to follow
for Muslims, the most noble person that has ever been on this planet. His father died before he
was born, and his mother passed away when he was six years old. Muhammad [peace be upon
him] was then raised by his grandfather Abdul Mutallib. When Abduk Mutallib passed away, the
holy prophet s uncle Abu Talib took care of him.
Abu Talib was very dear to Prophet Muhammad [peace be upon him], but he did not accept Islam.
He started taking care of the prophet since Muhammad [peace be upon him] was about eight years
old. The prophet tried to convince his uncle to accept Islam and recite Shahadah till his uncles last
breath, but he didn t. He was a true Qurayshi. He refused because he claimed that the Quraysh
would mock him and accuse him of saying the shahada because he fears death.
When Muhammad first began to teach about Islam he did so privately and publicly in Mecca.
People began to accept Islam, both men and women, in large numbers until the fame of it was

Frida Figure 1 Essay
Returning back to the topic of Frida s garments, Frida expresses symbolism with colour within the
two Frida s Figure1 as the Frida on the right wearing the Mexican garment depicts a cobalt blue
blouse and as she wrote in her dairy that cobalt blue in her paintings means love, purity and
electricity meaning the Fridain the Mexican garment felt love and displays a Mexican flare she
had for Diego When she felt completely loved and admired by Diego, Unlike the Frida on the
left that poses an emptiness and brokenness toward Diego because of the hurt he inflicted on her
emotionally. which leads us to believe that she is wearing a white garment to express the
vulnerability she felt after her divorce to Diego. As the colour on the two garments within the
portraits within the two Frida s figure1 differentiates from one another so does their skin tones.
Moving onto Frida s skin tone within the Two Frida s figure1 the skin tone in the right portrait
shows her skin appearing to be more Mexican than the portrait on the left where her skin tone
appears to be paler tone, giving the impression of a more European skin tone. Linking back to

Parathyroid Hormone
Parathyroid hormone (PTH) is the main modulator of calcium levels in the body. The minute to
minute regulation of calcium is maintained through PTH keeping the calcium concentration within
a narrow normal range. PTH stimulates renal tubular calcium reabsorption and bone resorption. It
also increases intestinal calcium absorption mediated by increased calcitriol production. Primary
hyperparathyroidism (PHPT) is an endocrine disorder characterized by autonomous production of
parathyroid hormone. The increase in PTH secretion in primary hyperparathyroidism is, in part, due
to an elevation in set point. The increase in the set point ranging between 15 to 30 percent above
that of a normal parathyroid gland is the major determinant of the severity

The Problem Of Criminal Justice System
Since the dawn of man crime has been a problem. Even though most people have some basic
sense of what is right and what is wrong, crime still occurs. All the way back to the ancient code of
Hammurabi man has tried to understand, classify, and appropriately punish crime. The bible itself
includes a detailed set of rules, or commandments, about what was legal and what wasn t. There are
many ideas and schools of thought that surround the idea of criminal justice. Initially the main goals
of these schools of thought were to classify and punish crimes, however in the recent past we are
seeing a shift toward the deterrence and prevention of crime. Early classical, biological, and
psychological theories helped shape what is today s criminal justice system.
One of the earliest theories that attempted to explain the cause of crime is classical theory. In 1764,
Cesare Beccaria published his Essay on Crimes and Punishments. The book, which contained
Beccaria s thoughts and observations about the criminal justice system, was important because it
was the first of its time to contain thoughts about the philosophy of punishment. According to
classical theory, individuals have the ability to exercise free will and due to this should be held
responsible for their actions. Crime is a result of rational decision making where the criminal must
decide if the possible punishment for the crime is worth the potential gain. Beccaria stated that
crimes needed fitting punishments to act as a

In the novel, Passing Time, Ehrhart experiences change....
In the novel, Passing Time, Ehrhart experiences change. For instance, Ehrhart begins to realize that
the war was a huge mistake on the government s behalf. Ehrhart believed that the government
shouldn t have taken part in the Vietnamese war due to the innocent deaths that developed over the
years. Many of the soldiers, including Ehrhart, were traumatized by the killings during the war.
Ehrhart often questions the events that take place during the war. For example, when Ehrhart
witnessed innocent civilians being killed from both Korea and America. In war, Ehrhart, was taking
part in some of the killings because of a kill first and ask questions later mentality. Reflecting on

The police treated the protest as if it was a riot. The police didn t give a reasonable warning, but
insisted on beating civilians to death because the police didn t agree with the anti war members
protest. For instance, Ehrhart describes that one woman was being beaten to death by a police
officer and Ehrhart tackled the police officer to the ground (Ehrhart 166). A man had to help
Ehrhart drag the woman to safety after the woman was saved from being beaten to death. Another
event that showed the effects of the anti war movement well after Ehrhart returned from the war
was when Ehrhart was at another anti war protest. Ehrhart was explaining to the public why he
decided to go against the war. Ehrhart explained that he couldn t support something so pointless
(Ehrhart 177). Ehrhart believed the government had made the people believe that they were trying
to stop the vast spread of communism. Ehrhart believed that the government was lying and that
President Nixon wanted to start and win another war (Ehrhart 169). Ehrhart often expressed his
anti war movement views to his crew mate, Roger. When talking to Roger, Ehrhart explains his
theory on why he feels lied to by the government. Ehrhart explained to Roger that Vietnam is
nothing but a way for the United States to express their dominance and control. For example
Ehrhart says, what we want is freedom to do business on our own terms and as much of the
damned pie we can grab (Ehrhart 181).

William Wordsworth As A Romantic Poet
William Wordsworth was born in April 7, 1770 in a village on the edge of the Lake District in
northwest England. In 1787 Wordsworth was enrolled at St. Johs College, Cambridge as a
scholarship student, but because he was un interested in the curriculum, he decided to depend on
self reading. During his twenty s years of central events have took place in Wordsworth life,
receiving money from a friend that enabled him to process a house, and the establishment of
collaboration with Smauel coleride that led to the publication of a volume of poems and ballads.
Many of his poems were composed while he was walking through a neighborhood, a park, or

Scarlet Ibis Quotes
Beyond the Ibis In the story The Scarlet Ibis by James Hurst, the Scarlet Ibis portrays how
people must learn to leave those they love alone through representing Doodle and his struggles
in life. To begin, in the middle of the story the Scarlet Ibis sits on a tree in Doodle s backyard,
and his parents think how a storm must have brought it [there] (Hurst 473). First of all, this quote
shows how the storm pushes the bird physically since it ends up in a different region from where it
typically lives; symbolizing how Brother pushes Doodle out of his comfort zone, which would
represent the bird s typical habitat. Furthermore, this push causes Doodle to perish; Brother forces
Doodle too much with his teaching, when he should be letting Doodle rejuvenate. Secondly, before
the Ibistakes its final breath, Daddy comments on how it looks tired , or maybe... Show more

physical test, only to find that Doodle s death has always been imminent, and that he has now
died; yet Brother tries to wake him up or search for any life in him, but like the Ibis, it is too late
for Doodle and Brother must move on; Doodle would not want him to mourn forever. Finally,
when the Ibis falls out of the tree and dies, Brother states how even death did not mar its grace, for

Beltway Sniper Murders
The beltway sniper was a shooting spree that occurred in different areas throughout Washington
DC, the Metropolitan area, and Virginia, in October, 2002. It was a two men rampage
committed by John Allen Muhammad, who was the leader of the attacks, and his accomplice
Lee Boyd Malvo. An interesting fact is that Malvo was only 17 years old when he participated in
the three week reign of terror. They did not have a specific objective because random civilians
were shot and killed during three weeks. There was a total of ten deaths, and three more
critically wounded. They were also connected with seven more deaths and three people injured
in previous crimes. First, their main goal was to take down Muhammad s ex wife. By killing
people at random, the ex wife s murder would look like just another tragic death in the sniper s
killing list. Fortunately, for the ex wife, Muhammed was unable to reach his goal and she was not
killed or injured by him.

Ford Motor Company s First Experimental Car
INTRODUCTION
A. Corporate Background
Ford Motor Company, American automotive corporation founded in 1903 by Henry Ford and 11
associate investors. Henry Ford built his first experimental car (Quadricycle) in a workshop
behind his home in Detroit in 1896. After formation of the Ford Motor Company, the first Ford
car (model A) was assembled in July 1903. By October 1 of the same year, Ford Motor Company
turned profit of $37,000. Five years later, in 1908, the highly successful Model T was
introduced. Demand for this car was so great that Ford developed new mass production methods
in order to manufacture it in sufficient quantities. In 1913, he introduced the world s first
moving assembly line for cars; and in 1914, to further improve labor productivity, he introduced
the $5 daily wage for an eight hour day (replacing $2.34 for a nine hour day). In 1919, the
company was reincorporated, with Ford, his wife, Clara, and his son, Edsel, acquiring full
ownership. They, their heirs, and the Ford Foundation (formed 1936) were sole stockholders until
January 1956, when public sale of the common stock was first offered.
The company s first international sales branch opened in Paris in 1908. By mid 1914 there were
more than 500,000 Model Ts on the roads of the world; by 1923 the company was producing more
than half of America s automobiles; and, by the end of the 1920s, Ford had more than 20 overseas
assembly plants in Europe, Latin America, Canada, Asia, South Africa, and Australia.

Military Draft In Vietnam War
Max Smith
Essay
The Vietnam War was between 1954 and 1975. We did not have enough people in the military, so
there was conscription which is most commonly called a draft. A draft is the mandatory
enrollment of male individuals into the armed forces. The government maintains the ability to start
a draft in case of a national emergency. The Selective Service System is responsible for the draft.
The U.S. military drafted 2.2 million American men out of an eligible pool of 27 million.
There were over 58,000 military fatal casualties in the VietnamWar. Many soldiers did support the
war. Others felt the draft was a death sentence. They were being sent to a war and fight for a

Familial Adenomatous Polyposis Syndrome Essay
Familial Adenomatous Polyposis Syndrome
Imagine having an almost 100% chance of developing colon cancer. That is what people are told
with Familial Adenomatous Polyposis (FAP) if they do not have their over 100 polyps, or
growths, removed. FAP is a genetic disorder where normal cells that line your large intestine can
grow into cancerous tumors. These tumors must be removed before they become cancerous. This
disorder is passed down from parents on the APC gene which is on your fifth chromosome. If the
APC gene is mutated you are more likely to develop these growths which lead to cancer in your
lifetime. This disorder has an autosomal dominant inheritance pattern, which means if either parent
has just one dominant mutated APC gene you have a 50% chance of inheriting it. Symptoms of
FAP do not just include the growths in your colon. They can also include skin changes, osteomas
or bone growths, and extra or missing teeth. Familial Adenomatous Polyposis is typically
diagnosed when a doctor finds multiple polyps in your colon or large intestine. A person with
more than 100 polyps is considered to have FAP. A blood test is then done to look for the mutated
APC gene. Since you have an almost 100% chance of getting cancer from the growths the treatment

universities, politicians , rebels, and even criminals known as The Prince. Machiavellianism was a
term to describe to be immoral behavior and can be seen as a negative in cases. He laid out the
blue print in The Prince for future rulers and governments how he thought once have to act in other

The book The Prince brought a different outlook on political stands but one of the most
important one is one about how it is better to be feared. In The Prince Machiavelli would go on to

Shot Duration Essay
The synopsis of the film is a worker who doesn t sleep so much, discovers a black hole in the
window. It was written and directed by Mr. Phil Samson and Mr. Olly Williams. Shot duration is
22seconds and the entire plot is 3 minutes.
Shots breakdown of the film
Shot #1 (MCU; straight on): the shot begins by introducing the main character of the film, and
shows us the extent to which he is desperate for a better life. This is seen through the angle of
shoulder, which is slightly withdrawn from the body. The background sound being heard is that of
the photocopying machine.
Shot #2 (LS; slightly high angle): The round helps show the viewers that the movie is set in a
type of office as the buttresses match the scenery, you can see reception desk and workstations and
the main actor is also wearing a formal cloths like shirt as well as tie. ... Show more content on

Shot #3 (CU at the start, MLS at the end; straight on): The third shot establishes the main character,
whereby the top button of his shirt is unfastened, his messy hair and his bored and tired expression
can be seen.
This countenances the audience to express sympathy with the actor, they are also able to narrate to
him, as they have felt like he does at one point in time. Additionally, they will enjoy the movie
more as they will feel linked to the appeal.
Shot #4 (MLS at the start, straight on, low angled shot)The fourth shot used in this short film is an
eye line match, the main character who stereotypically is a male, stood at the photocopier earlier,
he is photocopying something and that we see him push the copier button angrily.
The usage of low angle shot here is real at proving the appeals standing, the low angle makes the
actor appear greater and more leading, which is a conventional trait of males is films. Men are

Risk Analysis. A Risk Analysis Was Prepared As Part Of
Risk Analysis
A risk analysis was prepared as part of the review of Ford as a potential investment opportunity.
The Capital Asset Pricing Model defines the relevant risk of an individual stock as the amount of
risk that the stock contributes to the market portfolio (Brigham Ehrhardt, 2014, p. 250). The risk of
a stock can be measured by its beta. The higher the beta of a stock, the higher the risk. Stocks
with a beta below one are less volatile than the market while stocks with a beta of greater than one
are more volatile than the market. Well diversified portfolios include a stocks with both high and
low betas (Brigham Ehrhardt, 2014, p. 250).
According to Yahoo Finance, Ford s beta as of December 3, 2016 is 1.22 (Yahoo Finance ... Show

This has the potential to dramatically decrease the total number of vehicles needed in the United
States and across the world. The business model for the automobile industry is much more

team does not recommend an investment in Ford at this time.
Ford has a strong brand and appears to be a well run business. The company has a stellar

has been in business for over 100 years, surviving multiple world wars and severe economic
downturns. If the team was picking the best automobile company to invest in, Ford would be near

In my paper, I will talk about and examine the book named Live from Death Row, by Mumia

that the prisoners on death row have to face. Finally, I will give my assessment on the book and
how it has influenced my life.
Live from Death Row is written as a different array of essays, which can be viewed in a political
manner. Mumia Abdul Jamal was sentenced to stay on death row in 1982. Mumia Abdul Jamal
starts his works by recognizing numerous Africans Americans who have battled for racial equality.
He recognizes past and present people, some who have been named and other people who have not.
Jamal will probably uncover the shameful acts towards him and his kindred detainees while in the
correctional system. He likewise endeavors to reveal insight into the degenerate American criminal
justice system, which is proven by his examples, sentenced him to death in the 1980 s. He shares
his own stories as well as incorporates the account of a number of the death row inmates he has
known there. Jamal likewise utilizes current insights to support his cases. The beginning of Live

A Simulation Based On A Health Care Organization
This paper focuses on a simulation based on a health care organization that is having financial
problems. The simulation is based on a cardiac care hospital called Elijah Heart Center. The
paper discusses decisions that had to be made based on financial dilemmas Elijah Heart Center
is facing and how these dilemmas can be solved based on the decisions made in the simulation.
Phase I: Bridge a Working Capital Shortage The first option, I chose was to reduce agency staff.
These types of employees actually cost more money to employ because they are contracted with a
different company, so it costs more money to have them work for the company than regular
company employees. The Elijah Heart Center will find that not only will the organization save
money by not hiring contract employees but they do not have the expertise, training and
knowledge of company policies and procedures that regular employees have. The second option
that I chose was to change the skill mix. Employees who are untrained, unlicensed or have limited
expertise have to have duties that do not require special training or degrees. These employees can
concentrate of tasks that do not require much skill or training such as, feeding, bathing or
comforting the patient. This provides assistance to the licensed employees so they can better
concentrate on patient care without worrying about smaller tasks. This also benefits the heart
center by reducing the expenditure on employee salaries. This way they will

Greek Philosopher Socrates And The Paradox Of Recollection
The Philosophical truth of knowledge is defined as beliefs, thoughts, or propositions that are
said to agree with the facts or to state what is the case. It is this pursuit for an empirical
knowledge that has driven philosophers to ask questions, make arguments, and debate theories
that explain what we observe. This paper will define a theory developed by Greek Philosopher
Socrates in the dialogue Meno that is called the paradox of inquiry. It will then analyze how
Socrates believes the doctrine of recollection resolves the paradox. I will examine whether this is a
satisfying resolution to the paradox. Finally, I will conclude that the doctrine of recollection does
not adequately satisfy the paradox of inquiry.
The paradox of inquiry maintains it is not possible to gain knowledge from another source
because its not possible to know if it s a fact. To break it down more clearly, if you already know
what knowledge you are looking for then inquiry is not necessary. If you do not know what
knowledge you are looking for then inquiry is not possible. And therefore you cannot conclude
something as a fact from an alternative source. This becomes a paradox because if its not possible
for human beings to gain knowledge directly from sources, then its unclear how knowledge is able
to consistently develop in people.
Socrates s proposed resolution to this paradox is introducing the doctrine of recollection. The
doctrine of recollection maintains that we are born with all the knowledge in the world, and that
as we go through life, learning is merely recalling the knowledge we previously had. More
simply, we are born with all knowledge and when we learn or hear things from an outside source it
leads to us recalling that specific piece of knowledge that we innately already had inside us.
This doctrine of recollection, as constructed, is not a satisfying response to the paradox of inquiry.
The chief reason is because all the knowledge in the world is of the same one truth. But, we also
know that the billions and billions of cases of learning and hypothetical recalling of knowledge has
resulted in many alternative realities. Alternative realities meaning that one group believes one
thing to be a fact and having another

Cultural Differences And Diversity Of The Australian Media
The Australian media plays a prominent role in influencing the way society makes sense of the
world and its relations with others through portraying certain dominant discourses of politics,
cultures and current affairs. Through this it can have positive and negative effects on cultural
differences experienced within multicultural Australia. This essay will discuss the discourses that
are prevalent in commercial and non commercial televisionabout cultural differences and diversity,
and how this can either promote or denounce the inclusiveness of communities or allowing
alternative voices to be heard.

When commercial television is discussing and prevailing such dominant discourses about ideas of
marriage, terrorism, socio economic statuses, mental health, politics and other cultures, it has the
ability to disempower difference through only explaining these issues from one view point of
view or a singular representation. This constant widespread negative coverage of minorities or
other cultures can misguide Australian attitudes and viewpoints, to further reaffirm certain
prejudices or biases by only being exposed to the negative actions of a group (Jacobs Kershen
2011). This Symbolic violence can describe minorities in a way that leaves them voiceless,
ignored and condemned through media and the views of larger society (Venzo Hess 2013). When
ethnic minorities are shown in a prominent role on commercial television or a news segment, it is
usually in relation to crime and disorder or from being a perceived social threat to the Australian
culture or way of life (Phillips 2011). Although all broadcastingmedia need to follow protocols
within their policies to avoid representing ethnic and religious communities in ways that are
discriminatory within their practice, it is still conducted in a way that disempowers these
communities and maintains the prejudices against them (Phillips 2011). An example of this is how

It is a pristine tradition that much matters to a nation, when it comes to issues irrelevant to human

Now let us profoundly analyze what exactly is the economic boom of a nation. As we begin our

nature has created us and how the universe came into existence but none has ever tried to wonder

Blacks, Whites, Asians, the Yellow race and the Semitic race, each on a different planet? It was the

Brave New World And Brave New World
The 1920 s and the 1930 s brought about many changes in the world such as financial fluctuations
and advancements in technology. The novel Brave New World , by Aldous
Huxley, and the short story There Will Come Soft Rains , by Ray Bradbury, gives an excellent
presentation of futuristic elements and how world climate at the time affected how the author
perceived the future. Both of these stories paint a picture of a world where technology has
advanced to the point that it has negatively affected mankind. Using new historicism, this paper will
explore the different ideas and thoughts of the authors and how they got influenced by the historical
events happening in their time as well as the developing technologies. This paper will also explore
how the two stories, even though written on different decades, are very similar in nature through
their views, themes, and the ultimate effect on society.
Huxley writes the novel Brave New Worldin 1931 around the time technology rapidly replaced
workers jobs and made unemployment rates increase. This caused many people to take any job
they could get such as factory work. In the novel, Aldous Huxley describes a future world where
every single person is working in a factory and doesn t have a say rather or not they want to work
there. The novel shows Huxley sees the future as alienated and ruled by a God who controls every
aspect of people s lives. During this time Huxley writes his novel, the

Currently Boston has about 28,400 low income households who need a home that is affordable to
their income. Therefore in thirteen years they hope to have at least 38,200 units of affordable

year that would go toward affordable housing. We have to be able to get families out of danger and
into safety by getting them into their own homes but the sooner the better.
Solvency: To make this work we need to start raising money because money of course does not
grow on trees. There can be big Boston events held to raise money, such as marathons, festivals
and more, which can not only help the community come together but also earn the money to
build homes that are affordable. I believe that Boston will be willing to do this because we are

Also raising taxes would help because part of it can go towards building these

The Effects Of Sports Injuries On Sports
Technology in sports has been advancing rapidly all throughout the years. These advancements
have allowed sports fans to have an even better experience watching their teams play and

better sportswear have come in to use, there still has not been that much progress in dealing with
injuries especially dealing with head injuries like concussions. Sports injuries have been found
to occur in approximately 3% of all elementary school students, 7% of all junior high students

Aeschylus And Lucretius Essay
To start this free write off, I will begin by noting that both Aeschylus and Lucretius did a
wonderful job at portraying the death of Iphigenia and expanding on the emotions of all persons
involved. However, I believe the two did this in almost very different yet similar way. Aeschylus
has a very passionate and poetic feel to his writing, conveying the sorrow and intensity in a very
dramatic way; using a wonderful array of descriptive and emotional words to set the scene. On the
other hand, you have Lucretius, who was very detailed and straightforward with everything
happening, using the description of the scene itself to portray the emotions and explain what is
happening. In the following paragraphs, I would like to attempt to analyze these differences further.

emotion, yet manages to tell the reader exactly what is happening and lets them feel the tragedy.
For me the most emotional lines are sinless woman, sinfully foredone, a parent felled her on her
bridal day , this again lacks a lot of emotion but successfully implies them. My favorite line is
when he calls Iphigenia a sacrificial beast, in a similar manor to Aeschylus calling her a goat. I
think to call one style more emotional than the other is a bit of a stretch. Aeschylus made the you
practically feel what was happening, leaving the rest of the passage to be envisioned by the reader
with all the emotions to he had given you. Lucretius managed to make it very direct, leaving it up
to the reader to infer the practically obvious emotions. Overall, I felt more invested in Lucretius
writings than Aeschylus, purely because I knew exactly what was happening versus Aeschylus
where I felt more emotions for Iphigenia but there was a bit of ambiguity for the situation she was

The Advantage And Disadvantages Of Pyrometer
Pyrometer is a touch less type temperature measuring device. In other words, pyrometer is a
transducer that makes use of the visible or invisible radiation emitted by an object to determine its
temperature without any physical contact with it. It is used to measure the surface temperatures of
very hot objects like furnaces and distant objects without actually being in contact with it. It
intercepts and measures the thermal radiationemitted by the object, a process called pyrometry. The
word pyrometer originated from the Greek word for fire, ПЂП…ПЃ (pyro) and meter meaning to
measure. Due to its speed, accuracy, specific advantages and economy, pyrometer is gaining
acceptance in new fields.

Also it is not useful for obtaining continuous values of temperature at small intervals. It also
depends on the skill of the user. ADVANTAGES
Pyrometers are widely used these days due the following advantages:
1)Fast response time Pyrometers have very short response time. In the case of normal thermometers
,the probe must first reach the same temperature of the object and this takes time due to thermal
conduction. But in the case of pyrometers, the radiation is being measured and the temperature is
shown.
2)Affect on temperature and material As an optical pyrometer uses a portion of the energy radiated
by the target object, it does not affect the temperature of the target in the act of measuring .Also the
life of contact free measuring devices is more in comparison to the thermo elements as the latter
gets damaged due to wear and tear.
3)Measuring moving objects Due to its short response time, pyrometers can be used to measure the
temperature of fast moving

Research on Density Essay
Density: Using Experimental Techniques to Solve an Inquiry based problem
ABSTRACT
The topic of this experiment is Density. The objective is to find two ways in which the density of
a given object can be determined, and to find out which of the two ways is more accurate and
hence better to use in such a case. The two methods used in this experiment are finding the
dimensions of the object and water displacement. These are two ways of finding the volume of an
object, and they were chosen since the density of an object may be found using its mass and its
volume. The experiment yielded two different density values, however when error analysis was
conducted, the water displacement method was proven to be more accurate.

How Did The Hebrew Civilization Influence Western...
When considering the greatest impact on Western Civilization, whether the Hebrew civilization had
most to contribution. Even though the Sumerians and Egyptians civilization also contributed
greatly to the development of Western Civilization, the Hebrew civilization had a unique
characteristic which made them have strong power over other civilizations. The Hebrews saw God
as creator and believed that God is in control of His creation. I will demonstrate the argument by
comparison of these three civilizations. For the Sumerians, they firstly invented the wheel as useful
tool. Not only that, they are the first who discovered the movements of planets. Also, the Egyptians
abided near the Nile River had such an important contribution to the advance

Tenkiller
While at work my friend Nanna asked me to go camping with her family in Oklahoma, asking
my mom is the first thing I think about since I have never left the state without her. I ask Nanna
for the days and the name of the lake. She tells me Tenkiller I think to myself How odd, why
would the name be Tenkiller that does not sound very inviting . She laughs when she sees the
confusion on my face. She tells me It is called Tenkiller because there is a old story that a familyof
ten was stuck in the middle of the lake during a big storm and each one died . When I go home I
ask my mom right away, hesitantly she tells me that she will think about it. I bugged her until
she finally told me yes. When you have lived in the same town for all 17 years of your life seeing

When Miss Havisham employs Pip to play with Estella, Pip sees an old brick and dismal house

Compare And Contrast The Three Modes Of Dynamometry
The three modes of dynamometry are isometric, isoinertial, and isokinetic. Dynamometry is a
measurement of force/power, where strength is the ability to produce force. Direct measurements of
individual muscle forces are difficult to do and therefore, during an isometric contraction
(producing a force without lengthening of the muscle) is measured by pushing the limb onto a gauge
and then producing maximum force of the muscle against the immovable gauge. This form of
contraction is safe because there is no external force added to the muscle for it to push against/lift,
and therefore, the contraction is performed, without lengthening of the muscle, with zero load.
Similarly, the muscle will fatigue to failure before damage occurs to the muscle, making it a safe
test. This test... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For example, squats with a resistance band mimics the sitting to standing motion with a greater
mass, thereby causing you to create a greater force/power output to stand up. Isoinertial testing
is used in sports that involve acceleration and deceleration of a constant mass around the joints,
such as resistance training/weight lifting. Weight lifting involves the acceleration and
deceleration of a constant mass and is safe because if the weight is to heavy, the body will strain
to lift it and be unable to accomplish it. Similarly, if the weight is too light then the body will
easily be able to lift it. Since weight lifting is done in incremental stages by adding small weights
to their already accomplished weights, the lifter is mostly safe in this way. This form is testing is
also practical for a sport such as tennis because lifting the weights on a pulley through the racket
motion can determine how forceful your swing is and train those muscles to be more forceful.
Isoinertial testing is a reliable and valid form of testing because the body can only lift and pull so
much weight through a motion before it can no longer lift

Essay about The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn Should NOT...
Many books around the world have been banned because they are offensive. One example is
Mark Twain s The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, a novel about the journey of a thirteen year
old boy named Huck, who fabricates his own death to run away with an escaped slave named Jim.
The two voyage in a raft along the Mississippi River to gain their individual freedom. In addition,
Huck gains a new understanding about humanity. Huck Finn has been creating great controversy on
both sides of the argument: to ban or to keep in the school curriculum. Currently much debate has
surrounded Mark Twain s Huck Finn since its publication in 1885, but none has been more
pervasive, explosive, and divisive than that surrounding the issue on race ... Show more content on

treatment of the basic problems of the race. Even [if] the book or play is written by a Negro, they
still [would] not like it (Henry). In addition, John Wallace believes that the word niggeris so
offensive that he rewrote the novel without the word nigger.
Not only did Twain overuse the word nigger throughout the book, he additionally portrays blacks
badly through negative and insulting stereotypes. Student Doron Flake discusses stereotypes that
African Americans have chained to them at all times when he says, Blacks are murderers, the
rapists the gang bangers, where everything that is negative is [sic] society, why do I have to go

fellow classmates to judge him based on how Twain describes and displays African Americans.
Twain portrays the dehumanization of blacks throughout his novel. An example of Twains
dehumanizing attitude towards African Americans occurs when Huck and Aunt Sally discuss the
steamboat incident that causes an explosion: Now I struck an idea, and fetched it out: It warn t the

Difference Between Book And Book
Goldfinger, the third sequel of the ever popular James Bond series, depicts Secret Agent 007 in
more thrilling conflicts and dogfights guaranteeing to glue your eyes down to your screen. The
story centers on the investigation of gold smuggling activites of Auric Goldfinger by James Bond.
Ian Fleming wrote and published James Bond: Goldfingerin 1959, and it has been adapted into a
movie starring Sean Connery as James Bond in 1964. The Goldfingernovel was well received by
critics and made to the top best seller lists, while the movie became the first Bond blockbuster
movie. Even though the movie is based on Ian Fleming s Goldfinger novel, a great deal of
conspicuous changes was made in accustoming the novel plot into the movie. First of all, the
movie acquired a disparate introduction compared to the book. The movie starts off with Bond
nonchalantly swimming with a bird camouflage on his head to a factory, in which he planted a
thermite bomb. He then absconds from the factory and goes into a nearby cafe. Moments later, the
bomb exploded, and then Bond got into a trivial fist fight, in which he... Show more content on

Goldfinger s original ball and ensconced it using his bag of clubs. Another difference is that in

Case Study On Hummus
5 Things To Consider Before Purchasing Hummus
Hummus is a celebrated health food and for good reason! When prepared correctly, the satisfying
spread (or meal) contains fiber, minerals, protein, calcium, carbohydrates, and other benefits.
Traditional recipes call for soaked, dry chickpeas, tahini, garlic, lemon juice, and a little bit of olive
oil. Nothing beats a bowl of fresh homemade hummus, but we don t always have the time to
prepare the crowd pleasing dish in advance. While there are plenty of healthy alternatives like

Processed foods contain extra amounts of sodium so the package stay fresh for a greater amount
of time, but if you re watching your sodium levels this could present an issue. Purchase recipes
that have less sodium (around 30 50 mg per serving) and forgo options that will cause your body
to retain water and make you feel bloated. Not all hummus is created equally, so spend some extra
time looking into exactly how much added sodium went into the mix. Your body will thank you.
Hidden Calories
Hummus can be relatively low calorie, like this 45 calorie option, or it can be full of unhealthy
oils that increase the calorie count tremendously. Stick to items that exclude added ingredients and
focus on picking products that have a shorter ingredients list, and use only healthy fats like tahini
or olive oil and fresh ingredients. There are dozens of hummus brands that boast about their
healthy product, but don t deliver on their promise. Do your research and know ahead of time
which brands are the most reliable and free of hidden calories, additives, and unnecessary
ingredients.

How Did Leif Erickson Influence The American Revolution
America was first discovered in 1492 by Christopher Columbus, while he was searching for a new

Plato s Interpretation Of Utopia
Plato and Aristotle shared many differences despite also sharing a teacher student relationship. This
essay will strive to establish their understandings of reason and the role reason plays in their
comprehensions of politics, differentiating between the kinds of reason and politics produced as a
result.
Plato is regarded as the first writer of political philosophy while Aristotle is recognised as the first
political scientist. Plato s interpretation of Utopia is founded upon the existence of three separate
classes: the producers, the auxiliaries and the guardians. Plato envisions the guardians as wise
rulers whom are best placed in positions of absolute authority. Plato understood it to be the role of
the guardians to be the select few who know what is best for society.
On the other hand, Aristotle is not concerned with perfecting society. Aristotle emphasizes public
and private realms and structures of society. This
Plato and Aristotle by Carlos Cortiglia 2
means that he is interested in the ideals which are expressed in the laws and customs of a state
and he also focuses on public opinion as views expressed by the people living in a given state.
Unlike Plato, Aristotle believe that politics must respect and be based on ideals and views and
makes of these ideals and views the means to improve existing society.

Essay on Television as a Cultural Forum
Television can be considered a cultural forum. By cultural forum, this means issues and points of
view can be discussed openly and almost without punishment. These issues can vary anywhere
from male dominance in the household, to wars, to racism, to political jabs and still be covered
under freedom of speech. Television can hold a wide variety of opinions which may offend, but
for the most part due so to prove a point.
In the All in the Family episode we watched in class, it is no secret that Archie Bunkeris racist. In

Men, being as stubborn as they are, continue the racial barrage and eventually stop talking.
In the episode of Father Knows Best, Betty seeks to pursue a traditionally male dominated
profession. Even though society looks down upon it, Betty still perseveres in her endeavors to
pursue a job she likes. Due to the current times, society sets a certain standard and you are
expected to follow along with it. Going against the grain is usually shunned or you are set apart
from everyone else. I feel this is a great quality, and more people should be like this.
In these two episodes, discrimination is evident. In Father Knows Best Betty is discriminated
against for attempting to pursue a profession that, in that time, was male dominated. In 2005, men
and women should be considered equals in the work force, and be entitled to the same
opportunities. In that era, women were teachers, men were doctors, etc. There were standard jobs
for each sex. This is fine to talk about because it is in the TV realm. Writers are allowed to poke
fun at society s unwritten standards. In All in the Family Archie discriminates again African
Americans and George discriminates against Caucasians. Archie is brutally honest, even for our
generation. His complete disregard for feelings almost makes him appear archaic, but when put
under a microscope, we see the writers are challenging society, pushing the envelope even further.

Love and death, romance and horror, comedyand tragedy duel to an elegant draw in Wes Anderson s rich torte of a movie , as stated by Richard Corliss from Time Magazine. The constant use of straight angles gives the filman unmistakably elegant quality. Cinematographically, this film was created with great precision, making it feel more like a theater performance rather than a film. The use of thoughtful and quirky humor truly brings this picture to life, making The Grand Budapest Hotel truly grand. The use of thoughtful comedy throughout serves several purposes. The characters are an example of this, through their representations they are able to create specific correlations that are key to the film overall. It is through their mannerisms and quirky, thoughtful humor that the characters are brought to life. This film allocates the use of cameraangles thus allowing it an elegant feature, while humor is used to create a ...real, funny, sad movie whose performances are as alert and finely composed as the dГ©cor . • 3. Analysis Of The Last Of The Nine Stories The last of the Nine Stories, Teddy is a complex and philosophy rich testament to Salinger s own Eastern leanings. The eponymous protagonist is the obvious source of this deep thought, as he believes himself to be in the later stages of Enlightenment, and speaks freely of his own ideas and sentiments. However, the plot, as well as the style in which it is written, also speak of convoluted ideas and symbols. The interplay between character and theme is constant and can be interpreted in myriad ways, especially given the frustratingly vague ending. All of these aspects work together to form a work of fiction which has caused significant controversy and confusion over the years. Though there aren t many prominent characters in Teddy, it is important to remember that even those whom we see only briefly contribute significantly to the themes and development of the other characters. Teddy s parents give a glimpse into the implied childhood of the boy, potentially offering another interpretation of his character. With their dislike of each other and of Teddy, it s possible that, rather than being a true Zen master, Teddy could just be an unloved 10 year old, who struggles to interact meaningfully with the world. He uses his persona of Eastern philosopher to pull away from his parents and his own emotions, guarding himself from any pain he might feel at his parents disregard for him (Kaufman). Booper, on the other hand, has been shaped by these negative emotions, and has ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Canada s First Nations Safe Water Crisis Essay Canada, like so many other countries in the world continues to deal with many different environmental resource issues. Throughout our history, one of the issues affecting our country has been the treatment of our First Nations people. For the purpose of this paper, the focus will be on the safe water crisis facing Canada s First Nationscommunities. The Oxford Dictionary (2016) defines a crisis as a time of great difficulty or danger. The research included will help clarify the reality of the Canada s First Nations safe water crisis. Despite some improvements over the past few decades, many of our First Nation citizens still lack access to safe and clean water. Our reserves have water that is contaminated, difficult to access or toxic because of outdated and faulty treatment systems. (Klasing, 2016) This safe water crisis is in need of immediate attention. It is Canada s responsibility to provide the right to clean and safe water for all of its citizens. To understand the current state of the safe water issue for our First Nation people, it is important to look at some current statistics. The Council of Canadians (2015) reports that as of January 2015, there have been 169 drinking water advisories in 126 First Nation communities. With Ontario having the highest number 79, followed by British Columbia 35, Saskatchewan 24, Alberta 17, the Atlantic 7 and Quebec 2. The narrator brings to attention the appetising aroma and the frequent raising of the lid as well. These details bring to the passage a sense of how large this feast actually was and how others in the village might have been jealous of Four Eyes. The narrator said that Luo and himself were so far away that they couldn t even make out words the sorceresses were saying to Four Eyes, yet they could distinctly smell the cooking of the feast. This also helps emphasize the importance of feasts in the community s culture. The feast they were preparing was huge. All the villagers were contributing in some way or another. You had people contribute in preparation as well as people contributing ingredients. These details also bring to attention a sense of unity within the community s culture. Only Four Eyes was being released from his re education, but as a result, the whole community got to celebrate and enjoy the feast with him. Besides selection of detail, the narrator also uses uneasy diction to describe how the feast was being prepared. He uses words and phrases such as honour and more and more penetrating. These specific word choices emphasize that some of the villagers, including the narrator, may feel trapped about the situation. In other words, they don t necessarily want to celebrate Four Eyes release from re education, but they are obligated to based on the customs of their community. • 9. The Problem Of Criminal Justice System Since the dawn of man crime has been a problem. Even though most people have some basic sense of what is right and what is wrong, crime still occurs. All the way back to the ancient code of Hammurabi man has tried to understand, classify, and appropriately punish crime. The bible itself includes a detailed set of rules, or commandments, about what was legal and what wasn t. There are many ideas and schools of thought that surround the idea of criminal justice. Initially the main goals of these schools of thought were to classify and punish crimes, however in the recent past we are seeing a shift toward the deterrence and prevention of crime. Early classical, biological, and psychological theories helped shape what is today s criminal justice system. One of the earliest theories that attempted to explain the cause of crime is classical theory. In 1764, Cesare Beccaria published his Essay on Crimes and Punishments. The book, which contained Beccaria s thoughts and observations about the criminal justice system, was important because it was the first of its time to contain thoughts about the philosophy of punishment. According to classical theory, individuals have the ability to exercise free will and due to this should be held responsible for their actions. Crime is a result of rational decision making where the criminal must decide if the possible punishment for the crime is worth the potential gain. Beccaria stated that crimes needed fitting punishments to act as a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

It was a two men rampage committed by John Allen Muhammad, who was the leader of the attacks, and his accomplice Lee Boyd Malvo. An interesting fact is that Malvo was only 17 years old when he participated in the three week reign of terror. They did not have a specific objective because random civilians were shot and killed during three weeks. There was a total of ten deaths, and three more critically wounded. They were also connected with seven more deaths and three people injured in previous crimes. First, their main goal was to take down Muhammad s ex wife. By killing people at random, the ex wife s murder would look like just another tragic death in the sniper s killing list. After formation of the Ford Motor Company, the first Ford car (model A) was assembled in July 1903. By October 1 of the same year, Ford Motor Company turned profit of $37,000. Five years later, in 1908, the highly successful Model T was introduced. Demand for this car was so great that Ford developed new mass production methods in order to manufacture it in sufficient quantities. In 1913, he introduced the world s first moving assembly line for cars; and in 1914, to further improve labor productivity, he introduced the $5 daily wage for an eight hour day (replacing $2.34 for a nine hour day). In 1919, the company was reincorporated, with Ford, his wife, Clara, and his son, Edsel, acquiring full ownership. They, their heirs, and the Ford Foundation (formed 1936) were sole stockholders until January 1956, when public sale of the common stock was first offered. • 19. Familial Adenomatous Polyposis Syndrome Essay Familial Adenomatous Polyposis Syndrome Imagine having an almost 100% chance of developing colon cancer. That is what people are told with Familial Adenomatous Polyposis (FAP) if they do not have their over 100 polyps, or growths, removed. FAP is a genetic disorder where normal cells that line your large intestine can grow into cancerous tumors. These tumors must be removed before they become cancerous. This disorder is passed down from parents on the APC gene which is on your fifth chromosome. If the APC gene is mutated you are more likely to develop these growths which lead to cancer in your lifetime. This disorder has an autosomal dominant inheritance pattern, which means if either parent has just one dominant mutated APC gene you have a 50% chance of inheriting it. Symptoms of FAP do not just include the growths in your colon. They can also include skin changes, osteomas or bone growths, and extra or missing teeth. Familial Adenomatous Polyposis is typically diagnosed when a doctor finds multiple polyps in your colon or large intestine. A person with more than 100 polyps is considered to have FAP. The simulation is based on a cardiac care hospital called Elijah Heart Center. The paper discusses decisions that had to be made based on financial dilemmas Elijah Heart Center is facing and how these dilemmas can be solved based on the decisions made in the simulation. Phase I: Bridge a Working Capital Shortage The first option, I chose was to reduce agency staff. These types of employees actually cost more money to employ because they are contracted with a different company, so it costs more money to have them work for the company than regular company employees. The Elijah Heart Center will find that not only will the organization save money by not hiring contract employees but they do not have the expertise, training and knowledge of company policies and procedures that regular employees have. These employees can concentrate of tasks that do not require much skill or training such as, feeding, bathing or comforting the patient. • 25. Greek Philosopher Socrates And The Paradox Of Recollection The Philosophical truth of knowledge is defined as beliefs, thoughts, or propositions that are said to agree with the facts or to state what is the case. It is this pursuit for an empirical knowledge that has driven philosophers to ask questions, make arguments, and debate theories that explain what we observe. This paper will define a theory developed by Greek Philosopher Socrates in the dialogue Meno that is called the paradox of inquiry. It will then analyze how Socrates believes the doctrine of recollection resolves the paradox. I will examine whether this is a satisfying resolution to the paradox. Finally, I will conclude that the doctrine of recollection does not adequately satisfy the paradox of inquiry. The paradox of inquiry maintains it is not possible to gain knowledge from another source because its not possible to know if it s a fact. To break it down more clearly, if you already know what knowledge you are looking for then inquiry is not necessary. If you do not know what knowledge you are looking for then inquiry is not possible. And therefore you cannot conclude something as a fact from an alternative source. This becomes a paradox because if its not possible for human beings to gain knowledge directly from sources, then its unclear how knowledge is able to consistently develop in people. Socrates s proposed resolution to this paradox is introducing the doctrine of recollection. The doctrine of recollection maintains that we are born with all the knowledge in the world, and that as we go through life, learning is merely recalling the knowledge we previously had. More simply, we are born with all knowledge and when we learn or hear things from an outside source it leads to us recalling that specific piece of knowledge that we innately already had inside us. This doctrine of recollection, as constructed, is not a satisfying response to the paradox of inquiry. The chief reason is because all the knowledge in the world is of the same one truth. But, we also know that the billions and billions of cases of learning and hypothetical recalling of knowledge has resulted in many alternative realities. Alternative realities meaning that one group believes one thing to be a fact and having another ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Aeschylus has a very passionate and poetic feel to his writing, conveying the sorrow and intensity in a very dramatic way; using a wonderful array of descriptive and emotional words to set the scene. It is used to measure the surface temperatures of very hot objects like furnaces and distant objects without actually being in contact with it. It intercepts and measures the thermal radiationemitted by the object, a process called pyrometry. The word pyrometer originated from the Greek word for fire, ПЂП…ПЃ (pyro) and meter meaning to measure. Due to its speed, accuracy, specific advantages and economy, pyrometer is gaining acceptance in new fields. HISTORY Originally pyrometry was a strictly visual measuring method. Also it is not useful for obtaining continuous values of temperature at small intervals. It also depends on the skill of the user. ADVANTAGES Pyrometers are widely used these days due the following advantages: 1)Fast response time Pyrometers have very short response time. In the case of normal thermometers ,the probe must first reach the same temperature of the object and this takes time due to thermal conduction. But in the case of pyrometers, the radiation is being measured and the temperature is shown. 2)Affect on temperature and material As an optical pyrometer uses a portion of the energy radiated by the target object, it does not affect the temperature of the target in the act of measuring .Also the life of contact free measuring devices is more in comparison to the thermo elements as the latter gets damaged due to wear and tear. 3)Measuring moving objects Due to its short response time, pyrometers can be used to measure the temperature of fast moving ... The objective is to find two ways in which the density of a given object can be determined, and to find out which of the two ways is more accurate and hence better to use in such a case. The two methods used in this experiment are finding the dimensions of the object and water displacement. These are two ways of finding the volume of an object, and they were chosen since the density of an object may be found using its mass and its volume. The experiment yielded two different density values, however when error analysis was conducted, the water displacement method was proven to be more accurate. INTRODUCTION ... • 43. Compare And Contrast The Three Modes Of Dynamometry The three modes of dynamometry are isometric, isoinertial, and isokinetic. Dynamometry is a measurement of force/power, where strength is the ability to produce force. Direct measurements of individual muscle forces are difficult to do and therefore, during an isometric contraction (producing a force without lengthening of the muscle) is measured by pushing the limb onto a gauge and then producing maximum force of the muscle against the immovable gauge. This form of contraction is safe because there is no external force added to the muscle for it to push against/lift, and therefore, the contraction is performed, without lengthening of the muscle, with zero load. Similarly, the muscle will fatigue to failure before damage occurs to the muscle, making it a safe test. This test... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... For example, squats with a resistance band mimics the sitting to standing motion with a greater mass, thereby causing you to create a greater force/power output to stand up. Isoinertial testing is used in sports that involve acceleration and deceleration of a constant mass around the joints, such as resistance training/weight lifting. Weight lifting involves the acceleration and deceleration of a constant mass and is safe because if the weight is to heavy, the body will strain to lift it and be unable to accomplish it. Similarly, if the weight is too light then the body will easily be able to lift it. Since weight lifting is done in incremental stages by adding small weights to their already accomplished weights, the lifter is mostly safe in this way. This form is testing is also practical for a sport such as tennis because lifting the weights on a pulley through the racket motion can determine how forceful your swing is and train those muscles to be more forceful. Isoinertial testing is a reliable and valid form of testing because the body can only lift and pull so much weight through a motion before it can no longer lift ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

This essay will strive to establish their understandings of reason and the role reason plays in their comprehensions of politics, differentiating between the kinds of reason and politics produced as a result. Plato is regarded as the first writer of political philosophy while Aristotle is recognised as the first political scientist. Plato s interpretation of Utopia is founded upon the existence of three separate classes: the producers, the auxiliaries and the guardians. Plato envisions the guardians as wise rulers whom are best placed in positions of absolute authority. Plato understood it to be the role of the guardians to be the select few who know what is best for society. On the other hand, Aristotle is not concerned with perfecting society. Aristotle emphasizes public and private realms and structures of society.
