The evolution of media through the duration of many years has played a predominant role in the
lives of many. For this oral project I had the honor of interviewing my grandma, Marta De
Armas, my fathers mother, in the lobby of the restaurant in her Senior Living Home. She resides
in San Marcos California with her husband Joe De Armas. Originally from Cuba, my
grandmother s experience with media was consumed with subtitles and non easy access. With
her being 84 years of age, the ease of which her memories came was not quite there, yet she did

Throughout human history, mankind has venerated heroes because they possess the ideals that
people strive to achieve themselves. The appearance and importance of heroes in The Iliad form a
major part of what makes it such a celebrated tale. The concept of heroism, however, for the ancient
Greeks and modern society is quite different. The Greeks viewed heroes as humans usually
descended from the gods and in possession of superhuman strength and an aptitude for battle .
Achilles clearly fits the above definition and therefore it comes as no surprise that he has
historically been viewed as the main hero of the epic. However, the modern day definition of
heroism, more than just strength and prowess in battle, encompasses the idea of a moral
responsibility: defending one s people from harm and sacrificing one s own desires or life for the
sake of others. Hector proves to be a great warrior, referred to as man killing Hector by the
Achaeans, and therefore can be seen as a hero by the Greek perspective. However that is not the
defining characteristic of the Trojan Prince. His character revolves around a sense of moral
responsibility towards his people, his culture and his family, and using his power to defend them,

Fighting sports has played a major role in my life. I have been doing boxing for over five years

small percentage of sex offenders who do wind up in prison. Some states and criminal justice
agencies are experimenting with new methods of dealing with paroled sex offenders, namely
chemical castration and physical castration, in order to curb sex offender recidivism.
Laws were first passed in the United States in 1996 allowing for the chemical castration of sex
offenders. Chemical castration is the medicinal treatment of deviant sexual behavior by reducing
testosterone secretion in order to diminish sexual preoccupation and urges, making self control
easier (Treatment of Men with Paraphilia, 1998). Depo Provera (medroxyprogesterone acetate) is
named as the legally mandated drug of choice for chemical castration (Castration and Drug Therapy,

The most difficult items to project were patient visits because they are vital to the entire process
since they dictate the electricity, salaries and wages, malpractice insurance, water, and supplies.
It is not an easy task to guess how many patients will need to be seen since we do not know what
the geographical location is of the clinic or what the year will bring in outbreaks or illnesses.
How sick a patient is or what illnesses are prevalent during that time period is not something that

In the poem The Tally Stick , Jarold Ramsey uses a stick to symbolize the relationship between two
people. Carved notches, arrowheads, and other symbols along the grain of the stick each have their
own special meaning and represent certain events that occurred within these people s lives together.
Though over the time, the stick becomes whittled down and weakened; those carvings are a

The predators in this experiment were three different types of tools, a tweezer, a wooden
clothespin, and a clothes clip. At the start of the first round, there were ten beans for each
different type of bean. Nearly all the white beans were taken out of the first round, only one
survived. This was because the white beans were large, non slippery, and easy to catch. Red
beans and green beans were not as easy to catch. Based on the data and the graph, the tweezers
captured the most beans in this round and the clothes clip had the least (w/ only one white bean).
In the second round, every white bean was captured and many red beans were captured. The
green beans were not captured as often as either other bean. From this, it can be concluded that
the tweezers are the only predator that can efficiently collect green beans based on the graph. As
of round two, no other predator has managed to capture a green bean. Also, the clothes clip
captured zero beans this round. From the data so far, it can be inferred that the tweezers have the

My experience of moving to the USA included a couple of steps such as preparing, arriving, and
adopting. Moving to America was one of the most thrilling and exciting experiences I have ever
had in my life. It all started after I graduated from high school. I had always dreamed of going to
abroad to study in a better school to be successful in life. My dad was leaving me hints here and
there that he was going to send me America for school, but I was sure that it wasn t going to
