This document introduces two frameworks: the equitable evaluation (EE) framework and an emerging capacity building approach for philanthropy to practice equitable evaluation (EECB). The EE framework aims to conduct evaluations that are relevant, effective, efficient, have impact, and are sustainable. The EECB approach seeks to build individual and organizational competencies and capacities for equitable evaluation through sustained practice. It emphasizes understanding context and culture. The document discusses strengths and challenges of these approaches and opportunities to further research and implement equitable evaluation in the field to build a community of practice.
