Comparison Of Love In The Notebook And The Time Traveler s...
How do Nicholas Sparks and Audrey Niffenegger explore the ways the pursuit of an ideal love shapes
human relationships?
The pursuit of an ideal and perfect love and the way that this endeavor shapes human relationships is a
defining connection between the characters of The Notebook and The Time Traveler s Wife, written
respectively by Nicholas Sparks and Audrey Niffenegger. The suggestion of, not only desire for an
ideal love but also a deep seated need for this kind of love is something that becomes very familiar to
the reader in The Notebook, as it is witnessed by the fate like reconnection between Noah and Allie.
Although their love has been interrupted and tampered with by outside parties, and in spite of this,
their love endures and flourishes. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The setting of the home is used throughout both texts. This evokes a sense of comfort and homeliness
in the reader, therefore making them proportionally more sympathetic towards the relationships of
both the central couples in question and allows them to interrelate the situations in their own lives.
Noah s 1946 plantation home is one that is full of life. His home is a refuge that is laden with
memories of Allie. In particular, a picture of [Allie s] dreams is located in the central location of the
house, see desire in . . . every stroke symbolizes the ever changing nature of their relationship, just as
Allie was adding to it every day, changing it as our relationship changed . Much like Allie s painting,
Henry and Clare s house in Chicago mirrors their married life, marked by ups and downs. It has seen
their characters and relationships develop, at times being a safe haven where the house envelops us,
watches us, contemplates us as though it were a guardian. The house, however, also sees Henry s
frequent disappearances and Clare s endless longing, a love intensified by absence . It watches the
many arguments, Clare s multiple miscarriages, and eventually Henry s death, morphing and altering
with each new event. Through the setting of the nursing home, Sparks is able to evoke the emotions of
longing, distress, and pity in the reader. It is a place of sadness and loss, with the constant reminder of
an entire life, not remembered, she would stare at forgotten offspring, hold paintbrushes that inspired
nothing, and read love letters that brought back no joy. This loss symbolizes the unpredictable way is
which a love and a relationship can change so dramatically so quickly. Sparks is able to embed the
idea that once a deep and ideal love is found, it may not remain so pristine and complete after a time.

Bruce Bueno De Mesquita Expected Utility Model
In A Decision Making Model: Its Structure and Form, Bruce Bueno de Mesquita discusses the
expected utility model, which is designed to demonstrate how policy positions are affected by
competition among actors over their respected interests (Bueno de Mesquita, 1997, p. 235). With the
basis of the medium voter and monotonicity theorem, the model is portrayed as a game in which
actors first pitch their respected preferences to other participants, attempting to influence them, and
then form coalitions and adjust their own positions on the issue according to the response they receive
from other actors, repeating these steps in order as needed (Bueno de Mesquita, 1997, p. 238). Each
player in this game is aware of the potential power and stance of other actors on the policies in
question, as well as the salience those actors associate with the issues explored (Bueno de Mesquita,
1997, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The author establishes that the objective of the models is to predict the process and outcome leading to
the resolution of complex negotiations and to ascertain the possible way negotiations may end (Bueno
de Mesquita, 2011, p. 66). Before focusing on the model itself however, the article outlines changes
the new model incorporates, including heuristic rules, which are designed to govern some key
computational choices in order to ensure that the model can provide guidance as to when the game is
predicted to end . . . [and] how it is predicted to end (Bueno de Mesquita, 2011, p. 67). While such
changes to the model are necessary concessions, they should still be reevaluated in order to clarify
how they may be improved and modified over time in order to ensure that such rules do not cause
variance and affect model

Physics Of The Catapult
Busch R. Jonathan Period 4

The Origins And Physics Of The Catapult When we think of catapults we usually imagine them firing
at castle walls during the medieval times, or standing in the background of a large army clashing with
another in an action movie. However, catapults have a long and intricate history that twists and binds
with our own, dating all the way back to 399 B.C. First documented by the Greek historian, Diodorus
Siculus, in the form of an early design for the Ballista (type of catapult). Catapults were a staple for
siege warfare all throughout history. The catapult was used by many different cultures, notably the
Greeks, Roman, and Chinese in siege warfare; also ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The physics concepts associated with them are projectile motion, energy, momentum, forces , speeds,
and distances. The kinds of catapults all use the same theme of accumulated tension, but acquire that
tension in their own way, their own design. The Mangonel catapult for instance, is what most of us
think of as the traditional catapult. A large wooden device with four wheels and a spoon that launches
fireballs. The Mangonel stores energy much like a spring would, therefore, we use the equation
PEspring = 1/2kx^2. The tension in the ropes and arms of the catapult when pulling on its long arm
stores potential energy which is transformed into kinetic energy when fired upon. (Melvin, Mangonel
Physics of Catapults ) The speed and distance of the projectile depended on how much force the
catapult applied to the projectile, and the momentum depended on the mass and the velocity of the
projectile (dead diseased cow, or flaming

Anterior Cruciate Ligar
The Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) is one of the most common knee injuries in female sports
today. The ACL is a ligament that attaches the femur and tibia to the knee allowing the knee to bend
while still being stable and supporting the whole body. Dr. Russel F. Warren, a physician for the New
York Giants football team, explains, The ACL prevents the shin bone (tibia) from moving too far
forward on the thigh bone (femur) and keeps the knee from twisting inward excessively. When
athletes tear their ACL there is a greater chance that they have hurt or another ligament in their knee
such as the LCL, MCL or Meniscus; which is cartilage that absorbs shock from the body s pressure
(MedlinePlus). The ACL is strong, but one wrong move could result

Aggressive Action Vs Nonviolence
Back before the Civil War, people wanted to know which way is better to free slaves, aggression
action or the nonviolence way. The question is, should people use a more aggressive action or should
people be nonviolent in their actions? People might disagree with using peaceful tactics because they
believe that slave owners deserve what has come to them for decades. The people should go in a more
nonviolence way because if they kill the slave owners then they will just be dropping down to their
level and revenge is never a good thing. Peace should not equal war. Why do people think if someone
wants peace they have to go to war first? War just makes it worst. A quote from William Whipper s
speech, Non Resistance to Offensive Aggression, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As soon people start seeing the real meaning of the bible, violence, and harm to another person will
soon come to an end. A quote from William Whipper s speech, Non Resistance to Offensive
Aggression, a just and necessary war or physical self defense goes against the letter and spirit of the
Bible. Any harm to another person is going against the bible, even if it is self defense. Being violent is
the wrong way to go and it is an attack on Christianity. By threatening and making slave states afraid,
they will free slaves because slave owners would overwhelm with fear. A quote from Henry Highland
Garnet s speech, Call to Rebellion, to slaves in the United States, As a result of Vesey s threatening
plan, the slave states seriously considered freeing the slaves. If slave owners fear that the slaves and
people who are against slavery might do something, then they might consider on freeing the slaves.
Even though this almost worked, threatening to do harm is wrong and using a more nonviolent way is
better, so no war starts. If both sides fight it out, it is going to be in complete chaos. To be free, the
slaves and the people who are against slavery need to use peaceful tactics and nonviolence. If the
slaves and people who are against slavery fight and use violence a lot of innocent people are going to
die and that is not fair. Peace is being kind to one another and talking it out not war and

Sex in the Chinese Cultural Revolution
A. Plan of Investigation The purpose of this study is to answer the question: To what extent did
Chinese leaders display their power through the controlling of sex in the Chinese Cultural Revolution?
This can give historians a better understanding of the extent to which the Chinese leaders controlled
every aspect of the Chinese people s life. This is a fairly new subject because, as I will discuss later in
the project, sex was silenced in the Cultural Revolution.

The government sanctioned booklets and manuals about female hygiene, marital relations, and sexual
health, which had some circulation during the 1950s and early 1960s, were no longer published. One
woman, Hua, recalls her experience with sexual education The closest [I] came to such instruction was
a birth control lecture given in [my] office, but [I did] not listen carefully. It was too dirty. It was not
until 1986 that sexual education classes became available in some schools, lifting the age old taboo.
Sex was taught as a dirty act, so much so that there was not even a polite term for making love. One
advice column responded to a letter in reference to masturbation and it denounced the act as causing
bodily deterioration so one should refrain from such disturbing acts. Some married women still
detested the thought of having intercourse with their husbands. Although the Revolution was
dominated by political concerns ; it ventured to reform the society and minds of the people. From the
start of the Revolution, sex [was] not a private matter between individuals. Sex became a subject that
was considered bourgeois and hence taboo and the government silenced sexuality not by issuing laws
prohibiting it but by becoming silent itself. It was local governments that were propoganding their

Unrealistic Expectations
In the article Does Television Viewing Cultivate Unrealistic Expectations About Marriage? By Chris
Segrin and Robin Nabi, the authors connect the high divorce rate to the unrealistic expectation of
marriage. According to Segrin and Nabi (2002), the romanticized expectation is the dominant reason
for divorce (p. 247). The cultivation theory states that the origin of this idealistic belief may come
from the mass media, which exposes unrealistic visions to audiences. However, the study finds out
that the specific genre television program gives people unrealistic expectation of marriage, instead of
the overall television viewing. This finding could be extended to how specific genres of movies, music
videos and online videos influence audiences expectations of marriage. Afterwards, this study could
be applied in the television producing industry. Consequently, the researchers came up two research
questions to figure out the connections of television viewing, idealistic expectation and intentions of
marriage. The research questions are RQ1: Is greater television viewing associated with more
idealistic expectations about marriage? RQ2: Is there an association between holding idealistic
expectations about marriage and more immediate and idealistic marital intentions. ... Show more

The authors broke up the measures into eight sub categories to examine the marital expectations,
including generalized marital expectations, fantasy rumination and idealistic expectations about
marriage etc. For the first research question, the data shows that television viewing has a central
connection with the unrealistic expectation of marriage. When people feel there are more realistic
presentation/examples in the television, there are less unrealistic beliefs about marriage. For the
second research question, it was found that an idealistic marital intention is highly related to watch
specific genres

Catalase Lab Report
How do different environments affect the reactivity of catalase?
If we add water to the to the hydrogen peroxide, then the reaction will not be as extreme as the control
group because the hydrogen peroxide will be diluted. If we add HCl to the hydrogen peroxide, then
the reaction will be stronger than the control group because the acids are working together. In this
experiment the independent variable was the HCl and water added into the hydrogen peroxide (10 ml
each). The dependent variable is the rate of reaction measured in seconds, and kPa, and the constants
are the amount paper/ liver on the paper (one saturated piece), amount of hydrogen peroxide (twenty
ml) and the amount of the independent variable (10ml).

If we add HCl to the hydrogen peroxide, then the reaction will be stronger than the control group
because the acids are working together. The data that was collected supported our hypothesis on the
water group , because the kPa pressure went from 0 to 108 in sixty seconds. However it did not
support our hypothesis on the hydrocloric acid group only went 0 to 102 in sixty seconds. The water
group reaction was less extreme because the hydrogen peroxide was diluted, but the hydrochloric acid
group was not more extreme because the acids did not work together like we predicted they would.
Our data could have been more accurate if pressure was applied to the test tube the second the liver
was dropped into the mixture. If the liver solution was blended/ processed properly (how it would
inside the liver organ), so that the puree stayed consistent with livers position, along with this how the
liver was preserved might also play a role in the lab data by decreasing things such as it s properties.
This could have been prevented if it was fresh liver with no processing. Also to have more valid data,
more data could be collected and averaged. Another cause of error could be the pipettes not being
cleaned when measuring different materials. The reason that it s important to know this in life is so we

Background:
In BHEL VPI at Bhopal and at other brine handling from the storage tank is pumped to the tankers.
These tankers goes on varying in number and the output of the pump is controlled by opening the
recirculation valve which feeds back some of the oil back to the storage tank and in this process,
power consumption remains same irrespective of the number of tankers i.e. lot of power wastes. This
process is known as recirculation method. The capacity of the motor connected with pump was 26 kw.

Albert Camus Camus Research Paper
Over several years there has been a debate as to whether Camus s character Meursault is an
existentialist or an absurdist. He shows many characteristics of each. For example, Meursault relates
to an existentialist in the way of not believing in a higher power and that there is nothing after physical
existence. Additionally, Meursault also relates to an absurdist by believing that the world will always
be indifferent towards him. One could even argue that Meursault is both an existentialist and an
absurdist, because the absurdist personality was formed by the Europeans from the existentialist
personality. Albert Camus was the first one to show both of these personalities to people. Camus tries
to show readers that Meursault is not a normal. His view on the world is very abnormal. Absurdism
refers to humanity s need to look for meaning in life and inability to find meaning. Meursault

Meursault mostly relates to the existentialist personality. Yes, there are traits of both, but the fact that
he does not believe in a higher power pushes him more to the existentialist side. He faces many
different trials in his life and he still manages to see no meaning it. When he is imprisoned, he only
sleeps and withdraws completely. He is able accept his incarceration and not think twice about it.
Existentialist act upon their own will and not by what society norms. Usually when a loved one dies, a
person takes time to grieve, but Meursault did not take time to grieve. He went back to his day to day
life. He even went on a date with Marie very shortly after. Existentialist believe that humans are
responsible for their actions. In prison Meursault understands he is there because he killed a man and
not being able to smoke is just part of the consequences. The characteristics from absurdism simply

Ark 300 Cubits
Surely as God creates the grandeur of life, He holds an expectation for the humans He crafts in His
image. As Old Testament generations pass, the gap between expectation and reality widens, and God
must establish commandments of His desire for humanity through Moses. His want is for humanity to
love Him by way of obedience out of fear of His power. It is not possible for humans to fear or love
God without keeping to his commandments. Therefore God s ultimate desire for humanity is
obedience, displayed in His readiness to favor those who submit to him and punish though who do
not. From the beginning of Creation in Genesis, it is evident that obedience is what God asks of man.
The first man and woman are free to live as they please in Eden: working the garden, naming the
animals, and eating the fruits. There is but one instruction from God: The LORD God commanded the
man, saying, You may surely eat of every tree of the garden, but of the tree of the knowledge of good

cubits (Genesis 6:14 15). From the type of wood with which to build to the number of animals allowed
in the boat, Noah must submit to God or face the same consequence for disobedience as the rest of
humanity. Emphasizing God s desire for humanity s obedience, four reiterations of the sentence first
offered in Genesis 6:22, Noah did this; he did all that God commanded him, are present in the textual
account of Noah. Noah s obedience was great, and for that he is rewarded: God not only saves Noah,
his wife, his children, and his grandchildren, but also establishes a covenant with him to last all

Ergogenic Aids in Sports Essay
Ergogenic Aids in Sports
A large problem in sports today is the use of ergogenic aids. An ergogenic aid is any substance or
device that increases or enhances energy use, production, or recovery giving the athlete an advantage
in competition. Not all ergogenic aids are illegal; many such as dietary supplements, vitamin
supplements, or protein supplements are widely used and accepted, however, many are illegal and are
banned by many athletic committees(Ahrendt,1). I will be discussing these illegal aids and the affect
they have on the athlete and the athletic community. Some of the more commonly used illegal aids
include blood doping, caffeine, corticosteroids, diuretics, and human growth hormones (HGH).
Blood doping is taking blood ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The effectiveness of blood doping is unsure, researches don t know if it truly works. Some reports
state that the added RBC and hemoglobin increase the viscosity of the blood, which in turn actually
decreases the VO2 max(Goldman,50). The increase in viscosity can lead to an overload of work in the
liver and kidney, which could lead to future problems in the liver and kidney (Shipe,77). Another
precaution is if the blood that is injected does not come from the person it is being injected into there
is a possibility of getting a disease such as AIDS. Blood doping is nearly impossible to discover in
tests because the athlete is usually injecting their own blood into their system. The increased
hemoglobin and RBC in the body can be accredited to high altitude workouts (working at high
altitudes for extended amounts of time can increase hemoglobin and RBC s). Even though it is near
impossible to test for the Olympic Committee still bans its use in hope to find a test.
Caffeine is a chemical found in the leaves, seeds, and fruit of over 60 species of plant. It is found in
coffee, tea, some soft drinks, and chocolate. It can also be taken as a tablet at high doses in products
such as No Doz or Vivarin (Donahue,33). It is banned as an ergogenic aid in large doses.

David is a marble statue seen as a nude male and is 17 feet tall. The sculpture is in Florence Italy in
Galleria dell Accademia. This sculpture took Michelangelo three years to complete and was finished
in 1504. David is the first nude standing sculpture in a thousand years and is a symbol of Florence.
Michelangelo is thought to believe that he borrowed the idea from the Greek and the Hellenistic Era to
build a nude sculpture. David represents victory and a hero. As seen in the sculpture, Michelangelo
uses the technique of contrapposto that was used in Greek art and Hellenistic art. David is putting
more weight on one foot than another and that creates the twist off with his hips and legs. The
slingshot that David is holding represents a weapon that he used to defeat Goliath. The whole story
that comes with the sculpture is Goliath was seemed as impossible to defeat but David comes around
and defeats Goliath with a slingshot and beheads him. The lines and the detail that Michelangelo put
in represents the use of geometry/math. Rather than being relaxed, David s face is tight and looks like
he is ready for battle. His eyes are looking at someone or something far away and ready for something
to happen. Many people compare Donatello s David to Michelangelo s David because they appear
different but were based on the same story. In Donatello s David, he is seen standing on top of Goliath

Public schools originated in 1647 in the Massachusetts Bay Colony and soon spread across New

New York City adopted a 22 word Regent s Prayer as part of their Statement on Moral and Spiritual

In 1962, the United States Supreme Court was called upon to interpret the Establishment Clause of the
First Amendment to the United States Constitution citing the Regent s Prayer in violation (Engel v.
Vitale). In a 6 to 1 decision (with 2 remaining neutral) the Supreme Court decided that the Regent s
Prayer, which was to be said aloud by each student in the presence of a teacher at the beginning of
each school day, was unconstitutional: Almighty God, we acknowledge our dependence upon Thee,
and we beg Thy blessings upon us, our parents, our teachers, and our Country. Mr. Justice Black
delivered the opinion of the court:
The State s use of the Regents prayer in its public school system breaches the constitutional wall of

Jesus Origins Of The Christian Faith
Beginning with an example of my problem in Jesus origins: it is universally accepted in the historical
field that Jesus had siblings. An example of source text on this issue would be Mark 6: 1 6. All but one
mainstream scholar would suggest that these are true siblings of Jesus, is in to say that they were born
of both Mary and Joseph and were either older or younger siblings, or both.8
This of course is not compatible with the Catholic faith. To affirm older siblings of Jesus would be to
deny both the Virgin birth and the perpetual virginity of Mary; to affirm younger siblings of Jesus
would be to deny the perpetual virginity of Mary only. Both of these options contradict dogmatic
pronouncements of the Catholic faith.
Richard Bauckham, the one mainstream scholar who denies this approach, offers a different one,
though for various reasons it is not an accepted theory in the historical field. He offers the explanation
widely found in Eastern Christianity, that Jesus siblings were children of Joseph from a previous
marriage. This solves the problem of the virginity of Mary, but still has problems in Catholicism.
The Catholic tradition of the brothers and sisters of Jesus is that they are relatives like cousins but not
actual siblings and that their mother was actually a disciple of Jesus, meaning Joseph would have to be
divorced for this to work, a rather uncomfortable though in Catholic theology. Acceptance of
Bauckham s proposal from a Catholic perspective all of

What challenges have you experience when using understanding by design consultation framework?
These questions were raised from the logic model created, which was based on the goals of the
understanding by design training program. The evaluation should be conducted to see if the program
outcome were achieved and to answer questions based on the program objective goals and outcomes.
The stakeholders want to identify if the program objective were meet and if the outcomes were

The purpose of the evaluation is undeniably to measure the outcomes, evaluate processes, assess the

Worn Cameras And The Police Department
ody worn Camera in the Police Department
Xing Huang
Overview of the Policy Issue
Recently, using advanced technologies in law enforcement agencies is becoming a current trend,
because the police accountability has been a hot topic among the general public. It s a relatively
difficult choice for some police executives to decide whether to implement the policy of using the
body worn cameras. The main idea to using the advanced technologies in law enforcement agencies is
to help investigate crimes and communicate with the public. Body worn cameras are considered as
one of the most popular solutions proposed to deal with the racial inequalities and inappropriate use of
force among police. At the meantime, using body worn cameras can also help the police department to
avoid the false claims against the police force as well.
However, policy makers should consider the policy related issues, such as privacy and trust issue,
implementation issue and other factors. The privacy and trust issue leads to some key questions about
the nature of the problem of body worn cameras, for example when is appropriate for officer to record,
should notifications given to whom is being recorded, how to ensure the compliance, who has the
access to the records, and how long will the footage be retained. The implementation issue involves
with financial cost, community relationships, and internal department affairs. Even though some states
have already deployed the body worn cameras in the police

Marketing Taco Bell
INTRODUCTION
The company I have chosen to base my assignment on is Taco Bell. It is a leading Mexican style fast
food chain serving tacos, burritos, signature quesadillas, Border Bowls®, nachos and other specialty
items. Currently, Taco Bell serves more than 35million consumers each week in approximately 5,600
restaurants in the United States of America. It is recognized as the best Mexican fast food chains in the
United States of America (Yum! Brands, 2010). This fast food chain plans on introducing its products
in Malaysia.

Threats. The threats include external factors that could put Taco Bell s business at risk. In Malaysia,
the main threat rises from its competitor in the same market which is McDonalds. Taco Bell needs to
be constantly revising their prices and menus in order to keep up with McDonald s offers (Fujinaka,
1996). Besides that, the new researches and the raised awareness among the publics about the harmful
health impacts of fast food consumption is a threat to Taco Bell s fast food menus. The ingredients
such as sugar, oil and salt which are in the fast foods being offered, are thus consumed in low
proportions by the aware and educated consumers (Taco Bell,2010).
MARKETING SEGMENTATION In Malaysia, Taco Bell should cater to a well defined target market
in order to market their product successfully. The major bases for segmentation are geographic,
demographic, psychographic and behavioral. The geographic positioning of any business is important
in the success of a business. In Malaysia, Taco bell should be located in the heart of urban areas such
at Kuala Lumpur or Georgetown where the population density is at its highest. Climate aspect of the
location would not be an issue as the weather throughout Malaysia is considerably fine. In
demographic segmentation, Taco Bell as a fast food outlet should target mainly to teenagers and small
kids as they are the ones who are either

Winston Churchill s Iron Curtain
On March 5, 1946, Winston Churchill gave his most prominent speech at Westminster College in
Fulton, Missouri. The Iron Curtain is thought to be the mark of the beginning of the Cold War.
Numerous notable speeches were given during the World War II time period, but among these
speeches, the Iron Curtain just seems to stand out. The Iron Curtain dealt with principles such as
freedom, democracy, and justice. He opened up the eyes of millions. Churchill hoped to introduce the
threat of communism upon the minds of the world. People believed the war of the century had already
came and passed, but Winston Churchill presumed otherwise. When the Soviet Union rejected to
adopt democracy, the world began to fear of what is to come. The Soviet Union s decision to not take

Churchill s speech recognized that the Soviet Union was trying to convert Eastern Europe to

Marxism in The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini
Whoever controls the means of production in society controls the society. (Martin) Marxism can be
used to explain and inspect actions, characters, settings, and ideas in a multitude of texts. In the novel
The Kite Runner written by Khaled Hosseini, the Marxist views on the class system, religion, and the
ownership of goods are prominent and introduce an interesting and captivating perspective to the
story.
The following questions are answered within this essay through the point of view of a Marxist: Should
we die without cause? Who gives a group all of the power? In the Muslim culture, how does the
dominance of money and power prevail? What defines social morality? Do our religious belief give us
power over others? The idea behind social ranking is that one s values as a human are based on the
class one belongs to. In the Afghan culture, there are two main classes: the Hazara and the Pashtun.
Hazaras are Shiite Muslims and Pashtuns are Sunni Muslims. The Pashtuns believe that the Hazaras
are lower people because they are not native to Afghanistan. Amir, the narrator of the novel, is the son
of a wealthy businessman living in the city of Kabul. Amir is a Pashtun. His best friend is the son of
one of his family s servants, a young boy named Hassan. Hassan is a Hazara. Though these two
characters Hosseini is able to identify the subjects of child abuse and suffering in Afghanistan.

Art Briles Case Study
It s a crazy world that we live in.
So crazy, in fact, that even when a coach turns a blind eye while a massive sexual assault scandal
implodes the very program he helped turn into a national powerhouse, is still considered one of the
premiere coaching candidates in college football.
Art Briles, the soon to be 61 year old former Baylor Head Coach is looking for work. His entire life,
both playing and coaching has been spent in the state of Texas, dating back to his playing days from
1974 1977 for Houston. Since then, Briles has worked his way through the ranks to a 99 65 record, as

less attractive version of the Texas Longhorns. Respectively, Baylor ranked 41st, 36th, 26th, and 27th
from 2013 2016 according to 247Sports. In that same span, Malzahn managed the 10th, 8th, 6th, and
9th best recruiting classes in the country.
The kicker between the two class rankings is what was done with them. From 2013 2016, Briles
compiled a 32 7 record at Baylor, while Malzahn was 28 15 with a 13 12 SEC record as mentioned
before. In conference, Baylor was 22 5 under Briles from 2013 2016. One thing Briles knows how to
do is win inside his conference, something Malzahn has struggled with mightily since taking over for
the Tigers.
If Malzahn does lose his job at Auburn, and Briles is considered, it may just be the best move the
Tigers could make from a football standpoint. If you re looking at the media scrutiny and off field
issues Briles brings with him, then it makes no sense at all. Briles is a public relations disaster right
now, but could soon begin repairing his image through speaking and apologizing if he even remotely

The Works Of Rembrandt And Rubens
The Works of Rembrandt and Rubens
During the 17th century, especially after their break from Spain, The United Provinces of the
Netherlands became the most prosperous nation in Europe by leading the world in trade, science, and
art. Through the huge and one of the first art markets, art became a common household possession and
allowed artists to freely express themselves, which is one of the evidential factors in three of the most
universally admired artists of the baroque art era. Rubens, an influential Flemish artist of the Italian
baroque scene, focused more on the works of the counter reformation while the masters of the Dutch
baroque art, such as Rembrandt, were in the heart of the protestant Dutch Republic. These three artists
share similar artistic styles but yet have extremely evident differences and influences. The artists work
also have a great portrayal of the historical and social impacts of the 17th century.
This dynamic century shaped much of the modern world of today. With all the great scientific
discoveries and the recent protestant reformation, the world no longer revolved around religious
devotion and mysticism but had a stronger focus on individuality. The laws of nature and observation
by reasoning proved that everyone is capable of observing the world through mathematics, logic, and
experimentation. Another major characteristic of the 17th century is the major political decisions and
the international struggle for colonial domination. Colonialism was

Symptoms And Treatment Of A Tummy Tuck Essay
An abdominoplasty (tummy tuck) removes excess skin and fat from the abdomen. In the majority of
cases, separated or weakened muscles can be restored to create a smoother, firmer abdominal profile.
Dr. Sam Gershenbaum is a board certified plastic and reconstructive surgeon in Miami, FL. who
frequently performs tummy tucks for individuals who want a flatter, firmer looking abdomen.
Reasons People in Miami who Choose to Have a Tummy Tuck
The abdomen is a troublesome area for many people. For many, it seems that no matter how dedicated
they are to working out and watching their diet, their abdomen continues to protrude and sag. Even
people who are of normal body weight and proportion can experience a protruding, loose abdomen.
Issues that Affect the Appearance and Tone of the Abdomen
Common causes of a protruding and loose abdomen include:
Genetics Prior abdominal surgery Aging Pregnancy Weight fluctuations
Limitations of a Tummy Tuck
An abdominoplasty should not be considered a substitute for eating healthy, following an appropriate
exercise regimen or as a substitute for weight loss. A tummy tuck cannot specifically address stretch
marks. However, stretch marks located on the skin that Dr. Gershenbaum trims away during the
tummy tuck procedure will be removed as well. While the results achieved with a tummy tuck are
permanent, a positive outcome can be affected by substantial fluctuations in an individual s weight.
Therefore, individuals planning

reading a story and learning more than you expect. It also differs from other books that present the
same types of facts because this book is more of a wakeup call. He specified human activity as the
root of all of it and has presented actual, hard, cold facts about its effects on our own species. Jeff
Corwin s experiences were the most engaging parts of the book. He has done so much to help save the

21st Century Journalism Student Journalists
To succeed in 21st Century Journalism student journalists will need to have a thorough understanding
of the potential contribution journalism has to their audience. Journalists should have accredited
qualifications and skills such as NCTJ shorthand and law; to report stories accurately and ethically
according to the values of a democratic society. As well as being self motivated with a good
reputation; gaining work experience and blogging regularly.
In the past, the publication of diverse facts and stories was helpful to develop the idea of a democratic

The first piece of print Journalism in the United Kingdom was called coranto , which started in 1620
and was published in Amsterdam. After that point several other newspapers were developed such as

In the late 20th century, publications would take on trainees every year on top of the staff they had.
Whereas, in the 21st century most companies will only recruit where there are vacancies (Holmes et
al, 2013, p285). This is because now employers expect student journalists to have real world work
experience. And so, contacts are considerably valuable to get into the industry as it allows the student
to have previous experience on a more casual basis, but will look impressive to future employers.
Therefore, those without experience are less likely to get a job as others will be favoured. For
example, todays newspaper editors were in newsrooms doing journalism, rather than studying it as a
degree (Synge, 2010, p17). Previously job apprenticeships were common, but now there is a trend
towards formal pre entry qualifications and post graduate programmes such as the NCTJ (Holmes et

(Synge, 2010, p17).

Cyberbullying And Youth Suicide Ideation And Attempts Essay
Methodology
The purpose of my study would be to see the correlation between cyberbullying and youth suicide
ideation and attempts. This study aimed to examine adolescents experiences with cyberbullying
because, victims of cyberbullying often report feeling frustrated, angry, and depressed (Patchin

study we can gain a better understanding of how cyberbullying manifests itself in adolescence s
behavior, including suicidal thoughts and attempts. I would use a mixed methods approach to examine
various aspects of cyberbullying, including students involvement in cyberbullying, reporting
behaviors, and suicidal ideation or attempts. To gain more detailed information on the effects of
cyberbullying on youths suicidal ideation and attempts, I would utilize both quantitative and
qualitative data. Since cyberbullying itself is a complex issue combining both quantitative and
qualitative data can help to enhance the theory of the research.

Compost Essay
I think that our community should have composting bins so that we could start composting in our own
community. It would be very good for our community because it is less harmful than some other
options. Other options would not make as great of an impact because when someone composts, they
are recycling what they have used and can reuse that once it is decomposed.
Composting is an inexpensive, natural process that transforms your kitchen and garden waste into a
valuable and nutrient rich food for your garden. It s easy to make and use (Recycle Now). Compost is
very useful in gardens because it will improve your soil s condition and your plants will love having
it! When people compost at home instead of just letting it decompose in the landfill, they are letting
the oxygen break it down. When it is in the landfill, the oxygen can t reach the compostable things and
that then creates large quantities of methane. Hey Mr. Green states that, In the USA we presently

The items that are used to create the home and make it green can be very costly and sometimes
unreliable. The solar panels could not work correctly which would be even more costly. Many people
agree that green construction is helpful, but can have many downfalls. In the article, The Hidden Risks
of Green Construction: Why Building Problems are Likely How to Avoid Them J. David Odom and
Norman L. Nelson, PE states that, Building green is a noble goal, but it can be a risky endeavor in
challenging climates. Potential building problems can range from acute catastrophic to chronic

The Effects Of Osha s Mandate Under Section 3 ( 8 ) Essay
The Supreme Court was requested to rule on the cotton dust standard using the OSHA s mandate
under section 3(8) whose objective was to protect workers from the exposure of hazardous materials.
In the Department of Industrial Union, the Benzene decision decided by a divided court invalidated
the OSHA s benzene standard. According to the judges, OSHA had to base its findings on substantial
evidence rather than mere assumptions. These records should show that occupational exposure to the
regulated substance presents significant health risk (Schulte, et al., 2014).
Apparently, the American Textile Manufacturers did not question the validity of the OSHA s findings
before determining the risks associated with the exposure of cotton dust while working. However, the
personnel in this industry concurred that those exposed to cotton dust contract Byssinosis. In their
opinion, a less stringent standard would be enough to protect the workers and still be economically
feasible. Justice Brennan and Justice Stephens upheld the cotton dust standard by writing their opinion
for a five person majority. One of the major queries was whether the labor secretary was mandated by
the OSH Act in promulgating a section 6(b) (5) standard to determine whether the cost of the standard
bear a reasonable relationship to its benefits. This issue had been evaded by the Court in Benzene,
aside from Powell s lone concurrence (Crowley, 1987). Justice Brennan rejected the argument raised
on the requirement of

Dipshit Cry Essay
We always hear the same old bullshit about the United States: The l a a a a a n d of the f r e e e e e e,
and the h o o o o o o m e of the b r a a a a a a a a v e. Thunderous applause and then some asshole
shouts play ball, most likely. Sure, some silly sporting event where we watch a bunch of dipshits, who
get paid ten million dollars a week to touch each other s butts, is likely the only time most of us ever
hear that damn song, but its central message has been so thoroughly ingrained into the fabric of
American life that it seems nearly impossible to not believe it, despite all the mounting evidence that
none of that bullshit is true. How many people do you suppose there are that have actually taken a
moment to think about just how much freedom we really have here? I m sure there are many. Hell, I
ve encountered many all over the country. I have, also, sadly, encountered so many people in this
country who so blindly believe in that freedom bullshit that it just reaffirms every negative stereotype
I ve ever had about Americans. They hold sacred this fantasy that we are the only place that has ever
had freedom to the point that they will either try to fight me or give the same tired old saw, Well, why
don t you just leave, then? when I talk shit about it. Not one of these people ever offered to buy me a
plane ticket, though, by the way. Think of all the free vacations I ve missed out on over the years,
because not one of those heroes was serious about sending me

French Resistance Research Paper
The French Resistance May 1940, Hitler and his German army invaded France, it would only take a
little over a month before France would surrender to Hitler s Germany and the Nazi Party. The
German occupation of France not only expanded the Nazi s territory, but it also encouraged many
French citizens to rise up and go against Hitler and his cruel rule. From young to old, around one
hundred thousand men and women, by 1944, took up arms and fought against the occupation. Not all
the resistance fighters were violent though, some helped by just gathering intelligence and spying, but
the Maquis were more focused on hunting down the Nazis. After France s surrender Charles de Gaulle
urged the French to keep fighting the Germans. Right after France s surrender there ... Show more

In May 1944 resistance intelligent centers sent out 3,000 written reports and 700 wireless to Allied
commanders. Through April and May the resistance destroyed 1,800 train engines along with the 700
of Allied soldiers. One of their most amazing feats is having 150 sabotage acts between 1943 and
1944 using only 3,000 pounds of explosives, which is the same amount a Mosquito airplane carries on
one bombing run. (No author. The French Resistance History Learning Site). It wasn t all fun and
games though on their last push to help liberate France on August 19th 1944, while German forces
were rounding up resistance members for execution when the resistance went all out and attacked. By
the climax of the battles 1,500 resistance members and civilians were dead and Paris was liberated on
August 25th. Three days later Charles de Gaulle had one last message for his fighters, to go and enlist
for France s army and continue fighting on the

A Year Down Yonder
A year Down Yonder is about a girl named Mary Alice who goes to live with her Grandma in a small
town with only her cat Bootsie and her potable radio that she says is her last touch with the world.
This chapter is called Rich Chicago Girl. Mary Alice gets off a train from Chicago. After they leave
the station Grandma enrolls her into school on the first day she arrives! Mary Alice sits next to
Mildred Burdick who Grandma says to stay clear of but gets into deep trouble with and her horse ends
up losing her horse and having to walk miles to get home. And that s the end of this chapter. The 2nd
chapter is Vittles n Vengeance. It was Halloween time in grandma s town which meant pranks going
for weeks and half the privies ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
One day Bootsie showed Mary Alice her kitten and Mary Alice named it April. A man came by one
day and asked if he could rent a room and Grandma charged him $2.50 a day! Mary Alice wanted
Royce to come over to study math together and he said OK. When he got there they heard a scream
from the attic and out came Maxine Patch with only a snake around her and a flower in her hair and
then Royce left. That was a crazy chapter. Finally my favorite chapter Gone With the Wind. School is
almost out and out of nowhere the siren on the water tower went off and Mary Alice didn t know what
was happening. Everyone was heading towards the basement Mary Alice saw Grandma and had to
make sure she was ok. They were both inside and Grandma told Mary Alice to go to the south west
corner and we were both sitting down when Grandma let go of Bootsie and April. Grandma said that
after Mary Alice leaves she s going to turn it into a rooming home. That s the end of that chapter. The
last chapter is Ever After. When Royce and Mary Alice get married at Grandma s house. They lived
happily ever

Bronze Dbq
Question 1: The Bronze Age was the time that bronze is a primary metal used to make weapons and
other tools. Mycenaeans contributed to this time through Greek culture and the growing power of
monarchies. A civilization called the Minoans the Bronze Age focused on trade and the quality of what
they were trading. If the trade was better than the goods were made better. The age that came after
bronze was iron. The Iron Age was a period when things were starting to be made out of iron. Iron
was much stronger than bronze so that made it more valuable and wanted. The Assyrian empire was
the first empire to have made iron weapons and tools. Both ages impacted the way that tools were
made whether they were bronze or iron.
Question 3: Greek and Roman

How Did David Walker Impact On African American Literature
Throughout time we see African American literature go through it rigorous period of troubled times. It
was not often that African American poets or writers came together to share their identical thoughts.
But, this may have come from some being born in different time periods, or it may have come from
the location that many had to reside in to not be persecuted or damned from society. Although these
writers may have never co existed amongst one another, their writings shared the same ideas. America
needed to offer freedom and equality for blacks across the country, and to be given anything of less
standard was deemed unacceptable.
The Antebellum period of American literature included slave narrators such as Douglass, Brown, and
Jacobs, who ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For instance, in his The Negro Speaks of Rivers, Hughes explores the alienation that blacks feel when
it comes to the idea of African American freedom. When making the connection to rivers, it s almost a
song that goes through your head. When comparing that depth of the river to that of your ancestors,
firmly placing them in important historical, religious, and cultural sites all over the world. The speaker
begins by claiming a connection to the world s ancient rivers that predated human beings, and that has
made his soul grow deep like the rivers. This insightful and articulate description indicates the speaker
s immense intellect, and allows him to make a definitive connection between people of his race and
the rest of human civilization. White Americans often viewed their darker skinned counterparts as less
than human, and here, Hughes offers concrete proof of historical

The Nature Of Mt Wellington
I am honored to have opportunity to address my opinion about the nature of Mt Wellington after
delving the affairs from your letter. Before making any judgements, some problems are being worth
paying closs attention to here, such as profitability of Mt Wellington, transfer of ownership. Enclosed
with this letter is a detailed explaination in which you may find the constructive comments.
Relating to core issue, there are two scenarios need to be classified, which will result different
conclusions:
In the first place, the present situation is some areas in Mt Wellington are privately owned by the
Hobart and Glenorchy city councils, although the State Government has already introduced new laws
during in the earlier period this year that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Similarly, we could use the same standard to measure the other part in Mt Wellington. The rest area
that no one has way to claim could not be addressed as asset. The reason is there is no entity to
manage that area. According to the Australian Accounting Standard Board AASB138, it falsifies one
of the essential characteristic of being asset, asset must be control by the entity . Hence, this area could
not be accounted as asset. When we make an intensive study of this unowned area, it should be put
into a category of natural resource since it is out of management. According to Comstock (2016), a
natural resource is something that is not made by humans but is necessary or useful in their lives . To
some extent, the landscape, water resource and wild forest in this area have enriched the biodiversity
and are helpful to the local environment construction. As local communities said, any activity within
Wellington Park has the potential to have an impact upon natural and cultural values, and the Council
s assets, within the reserve . In fact, no one has the right to possess himself/herself of the unclaimed
area.
At the moment, the whole Mt Wellington could not treated as an asset, even the current status is in
good condition. However, there is another possibility that State Government or Commonweal would
make Mt Wellington nationalized regardless of the approval and support from the Hobart and
Glenorchy city councils. There is evidence that this

  • 2. Comparison Of Love In The Notebook And The Time Traveler s... How do Nicholas Sparks and Audrey Niffenegger explore the ways the pursuit of an ideal love shapes human relationships? The pursuit of an ideal and perfect love and the way that this endeavor shapes human relationships is a defining connection between the characters of The Notebook and The Time Traveler s Wife, written respectively by Nicholas Sparks and Audrey Niffenegger. The suggestion of, not only desire for an ideal love but also a deep seated need for this kind of love is something that becomes very familiar to the reader in The Notebook, as it is witnessed by the fate like reconnection between Noah and Allie. Although their love has been interrupted and tampered with by outside parties, and in spite of this, their love endures and flourishes. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The setting of the home is used throughout both texts. This evokes a sense of comfort and homeliness in the reader, therefore making them proportionally more sympathetic towards the relationships of both the central couples in question and allows them to interrelate the situations in their own lives. Noah s 1946 plantation home is one that is full of life. His home is a refuge that is laden with memories of Allie. In particular, a picture of [Allie s] dreams is located in the central location of the house, see desire in . . . every stroke symbolizes the ever changing nature of their relationship, just as Allie was adding to it every day, changing it as our relationship changed . Much like Allie s painting, Henry and Clare s house in Chicago mirrors their married life, marked by ups and downs. It has seen their characters and relationships develop, at times being a safe haven where the house envelops us, watches us, contemplates us as though it were a guardian. The house, however, also sees Henry s frequent disappearances and Clare s endless longing, a love intensified by absence . It watches the many arguments, Clare s multiple miscarriages, and eventually Henry s death, morphing and altering with each new event. Through the setting of the nursing home, Sparks is able to evoke the emotions of longing, distress, and pity in the reader. It is a place of sadness and loss, with the constant reminder of an entire life, not remembered, she would stare at forgotten offspring, hold paintbrushes that inspired nothing, and read love letters that brought back no joy. This loss symbolizes the unpredictable way is which a love and a relationship can change so dramatically so quickly. Sparks is able to embed the idea that once a deep and ideal love is found, it may not remain so pristine and complete after a time. This is ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Bruce Bueno De Mesquita Expected Utility Model In A Decision Making Model: Its Structure and Form, Bruce Bueno de Mesquita discusses the expected utility model, which is designed to demonstrate how policy positions are affected by competition among actors over their respected interests (Bueno de Mesquita, 1997, p. 235). With the basis of the medium voter and monotonicity theorem, the model is portrayed as a game in which actors first pitch their respected preferences to other participants, attempting to influence them, and then form coalitions and adjust their own positions on the issue according to the response they receive from other actors, repeating these steps in order as needed (Bueno de Mesquita, 1997, p. 238). Each player in this game is aware of the potential power and stance of other actors on the policies in question, as well as the salience those actors associate with the issues explored (Bueno de Mesquita, 1997, ... [and] how it is predicted to end (Bueno de Mesquita, 2011, p. 67). While such changes to the model are necessary concessions, they should still be reevaluated in order to clarify how they may be improved and modified over time in order to ensure that such rules do not cause variance and affect model ... Jonathan Period 4 23 February 2017 Busch 1 The Origins And Physics Of The Catapult When we think of catapults we usually imagine them firing at castle walls during the medieval times, or standing in the background of a large army clashing with another in an action movie. However, catapults have a long and intricate history that twists and binds with our own, dating all the way back to 399 B.C. First documented by the Greek historian, Diodorus Siculus, in the form of an early design for the Ballista (type of catapult). Catapults were a staple for siege warfare all throughout history. The physics concepts associated with them are projectile motion, energy, momentum, forces , speeds, and distances. The kinds of catapults all use the same theme of accumulated tension, but acquire that tension in their own way, their own design. The Mangonel catapult for instance, is what most of us think of as the traditional catapult. A large wooden device with four wheels and a spoon that launches fireballs. The Mangonel stores energy much like a spring would, therefore, we use the equation PEspring = 1/2kx^2. The tension in the ropes and arms of the catapult when pulling on its long arm stores potential energy which is transformed into kinetic energy when fired upon. (Melvin, Mangonel Physics of Catapults ) The speed and distance of the projectile depended on how much force the catapult applied to the projectile, and the momentum depended on the mass and the velocity of the projectile (dead diseased cow, or flaming ... The ACL is a ligament that attaches the femur and tibia to the knee allowing the knee to bend while still being stable and supporting the whole body. Dr. Russel F. Warren, a physician for the New York Giants football team, explains, The ACL prevents the shin bone (tibia) from moving too far forward on the thigh bone (femur) and keeps the knee from twisting inward excessively. When athletes tear their ACL there is a greater chance that they have hurt or another ligament in their knee such as the LCL, MCL or Meniscus; which is cartilage that absorbs shock from the body s pressure (MedlinePlus). • 6. Aggressive Action Vs Nonviolence Back before the Civil War, people wanted to know which way is better to free slaves, aggression action or the nonviolence way. The question is, should people use a more aggressive action or should people be nonviolent in their actions? People might disagree with using peaceful tactics because they believe that slave owners deserve what has come to them for decades. The people should go in a more nonviolence way because if they kill the slave owners then they will just be dropping down to their level and revenge is never a good thing. Peace should not equal war. Why do people think if someone wants peace they have to go to war first? War just makes it worst. A quote from William Whipper s speech, Non Resistance to Offensive Aggression, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... As soon people start seeing the real meaning of the bible, violence, and harm to another person will soon come to an end. A quote from William Whipper s speech, Non Resistance to Offensive Aggression, a just and necessary war or physical self defense goes against the letter and spirit of the Bible. Any harm to another person is going against the bible, even if it is self defense. Being violent is the wrong way to go and it is an attack on Christianity. By threatening and making slave states afraid, they will free slaves because slave owners would overwhelm with fear. A quote from Henry Highland Garnet s speech, Call to Rebellion, to slaves in the United States, As a result of Vesey s threatening plan, the slave states seriously considered freeing the slaves. If slave owners fear that the slaves and people who are against slavery might do something, then they might consider on freeing the slaves. Even though this almost worked, threatening to do harm is wrong and using a more nonviolent way is better, so no war starts. If both sides fight it out, it is going to be in complete chaos. To be free, the slaves and the people who are against slavery need to use peaceful tactics and nonviolence. • 9. Unrealistic Expectations In the article Does Television Viewing Cultivate Unrealistic Expectations About Marriage? By Chris Segrin and Robin Nabi, the authors connect the high divorce rate to the unrealistic expectation of marriage. According to Segrin and Nabi (2002), the romanticized expectation is the dominant reason for divorce (p. 247). The cultivation theory states that the origin of this idealistic belief may come from the mass media, which exposes unrealistic visions to audiences. However, the study finds out that the specific genre television program gives people unrealistic expectation of marriage, instead of the overall television viewing. This finding could be extended to how specific genres of movies, music videos and online videos influence audiences expectations of marriage. Afterwards, this study could be applied in the television producing industry. Consequently, the researchers came up two research questions to figure out the connections of television viewing, idealistic expectation and intentions of marriage. The research questions are RQ1: Is greater television viewing associated with more idealistic expectations about marriage? RQ2: Is there an association between holding idealistic expectations about marriage and more immediate and idealistic marital intentions. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... However it did not support our hypothesis on the hydrocloric acid group only went 0 to 102 in sixty seconds. The water group reaction was less extreme because the hydrogen peroxide was diluted, but the hydrochloric acid group was not more extreme because the acids did not work together like we predicted they would. Our data could have been more accurate if pressure was applied to the test tube the second the liver was dropped into the mixture. If the liver solution was blended/ processed properly (how it would inside the liver organ), so that the puree stayed consistent with livers position, along with this how the liver was preserved might also play a role in the lab data by decreasing things such as it s properties. This could have been prevented if it was fresh liver with no processing. Also to have more valid data, more data could be collected and averaged. He shows many characteristics of each. For example, Meursault relates to an existentialist in the way of not believing in a higher power and that there is nothing after physical existence. Additionally, Meursault also relates to an absurdist by believing that the world will always be indifferent towards him. One could even argue that Meursault is both an existentialist and an absurdist, because the absurdist personality was formed by the Europeans from the existentialist personality. Albert Camus was the first one to show both of these personalities to people. Camus tries to show readers that Meursault is not a normal. His view on the world is very abnormal. As Old Testament generations pass, the gap between expectation and reality widens, and God must establish commandments of His desire for humanity through Moses. His want is for humanity to love Him by way of obedience out of fear of His power. It is not possible for humans to fear or love God without keeping to his commandments. Therefore God s ultimate desire for humanity is obedience, displayed in His readiness to favor those who submit to him and punish though who do not. From the beginning of Creation in Genesis, it is evident that obedience is what God asks of man. The first man and woman are free to live as they please in Eden: working the garden, naming the animals, and eating the fruits. From the type of wood with which to build to the number of animals allowed in the boat, Noah must submit to God or face the same consequence for disobedience as the rest of humanity. Emphasizing God s desire for humanity s obedience, four reiterations of the sentence first offered in Genesis 6:22, Noah did this; he did all that God commanded him, are present in the textual account of Noah. The sculpture is in Florence Italy in Galleria dell Accademia. This sculpture took Michelangelo three years to complete and was finished in 1504. David is the first nude standing sculpture in a thousand years and is a symbol of Florence. Michelangelo is thought to believe that he borrowed the idea from the Greek and the Hellenistic Era to build a nude sculpture. David represents victory and a hero. As seen in the sculpture, Michelangelo uses the technique of contrapposto that was used in Greek art and Hellenistic art. David is putting more weight on one foot than another and that creates the twist off with his hips and legs. The slingshot that David is holding represents a weapon that he used to defeat Goliath. The whole story that comes with the sculpture is Goliath was seemed as impossible to defeat but David comes around and defeats Goliath with a slingshot and beheads him. The lines and the detail that Michelangelo put in represents the use of geometry/math. Rather than being relaxed, David s face is tight and looks like he is ready for battle. His eyes are looking at someone or something far away and ready for something to happen. They began with an elementary school for every fifty families and a Latin school for every one hundred families. Their mission was to ensure that Puritan children learn to read the Bible and receive basic information about their Calvinist religion. 1 By 1840, conflict was at a climax in New York City. • 22. Jesus Origins Of The Christian Faith Beginning with an example of my problem in Jesus origins: it is universally accepted in the historical field that Jesus had siblings. An example of source text on this issue would be Mark 6: 1 6. All but one mainstream scholar would suggest that these are true siblings of Jesus, is in to say that they were born of both Mary and Joseph and were either older or younger siblings, or both.8 This of course is not compatible with the Catholic faith. To affirm older siblings of Jesus would be to deny both the Virgin birth and the perpetual virginity of Mary; to affirm younger siblings of Jesus would be to deny the perpetual virginity of Mary only. Both of these options contradict dogmatic pronouncements of the Catholic faith. Richard Bauckham, the one mainstream scholar who denies this approach, offers a different one, though for various reasons it is not an accepted theory in the historical field. He offers the explanation widely found in Eastern Christianity, that Jesus siblings were children of Joseph from a previous marriage. This solves the problem of the virginity of Mary, but still has problems in Catholicism. The Catholic tradition of the brothers and sisters of Jesus is that they are relatives like cousins but not actual siblings and that their mother was actually a disciple of Jesus, meaning Joseph would have to be divorced for this to work, a rather uncomfortable though in Catholic theology. Acceptance of Bauckham s proposal from a Catholic perspective all of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

It s a relatively difficult choice for some police executives to decide whether to implement the policy of using the body worn cameras. The main idea to using the advanced technologies in law enforcement agencies is to help investigate crimes and communicate with the public. Body worn cameras are considered as one of the most popular solutions proposed to deal with the racial inequalities and inappropriate use of force among police. • 40. Compost Essay I think that our community should have composting bins so that we could start composting in our own community. It would be very good for our community because it is less harmful than some other options. Other options would not make as great of an impact because when someone composts, they are recycling what they have used and can reuse that once it is decomposed. Composting is an inexpensive, natural process that transforms your kitchen and garden waste into a valuable and nutrient rich food for your garden. It s easy to make and use (Recycle Now). Compost is very useful in gardens because it will improve your soil s condition and your plants will love having it! When people compost at home instead of just letting it decompose in the landfill, they are letting the oxygen break it down. When it is in the landfill, the oxygen can t reach the compostable things and that then creates large quantities of methane. Hey Mr. Green states that, In the USA we presently dump about 33.5 million TONS of food waste into the landfills each year, or about 14% of some 240 million tons of stuff that goes to municipal dumps every year and this doesn t even count what zorks down garbage disposal units. • 41. The Effects Of Osha s Mandate Under Section 3 ( 8 ) Essay The Supreme Court was requested to rule on the cotton dust standard using the OSHA s mandate under section 3(8) whose objective was to protect workers from the exposure of hazardous materials. In the Department of Industrial Union, the Benzene decision decided by a divided court invalidated the OSHA s benzene standard. According to the judges, OSHA had to base its findings on substantial evidence rather than mere assumptions. These records should show that occupational exposure to the regulated substance presents significant health risk (Schulte, et al., 2014). Apparently, the American Textile Manufacturers did not question the validity of the OSHA s findings before determining the risks associated with the exposure of cotton dust while working. However, the personnel in this industry concurred that those exposed to cotton dust contract Byssinosis. In their opinion, a less stringent standard would be enough to protect the workers and still be economically feasible. Justice Brennan and Justice Stephens upheld the cotton dust standard by writing their opinion for a five person majority. One of the major queries was whether the labor secretary was mandated by the OSH Act in promulgating a section 6(b) (5) standard to determine whether the cost of the standard bear a reasonable relationship to its benefits. This issue had been evaded by the Court in Benzene, aside from Powell s lone concurrence (Crowley, 1987). Justice Brennan rejected the argument raised on the requirement of ... • 42. Dipshit Cry Essay We always hear the same old bullshit about the United States: The l a a a a a n d of the f r e e e e e e, and the h o o o o o o m e of the b r a a a a a a a a v e. Thunderous applause and then some asshole shouts play ball, most likely. Sure, some silly sporting event where we watch a bunch of dipshits, who get paid ten million dollars a week to touch each other s butts, is likely the only time most of us ever hear that damn song, but its central message has been so thoroughly ingrained into the fabric of American life that it seems nearly impossible to not believe it, despite all the mounting evidence that none of that bullshit is true. How many people do you suppose there are that have actually taken a moment to think about just how much freedom we really have here? I m sure there are many. Hell, I ve encountered many all over the country. I have, also, sadly, encountered so many people in this country who so blindly believe in that freedom bullshit that it just reaffirms every negative stereotype I ve ever had about Americans. They hold sacred this fantasy that we are the only place that has ever had freedom to the point that they will either try to fight me or give the same tired old saw, Well, why don t you just leave, then? when I talk shit about it. Not one of these people ever offered to buy me a plane ticket, though, by the way. • 43. French Resistance Research Paper The French Resistance May 1940, Hitler and his German army invaded France, it would only take a little over a month before France would surrender to Hitler s Germany and the Nazi Party. The German occupation of France not only expanded the Nazi s territory, but it also encouraged many French citizens to rise up and go against Hitler and his cruel rule. From young to old, around one hundred thousand men and women, by 1944, took up arms and fought against the occupation. Not all the resistance fighters were violent though, some helped by just gathering intelligence and spying, but the Maquis were more focused on hunting down the Nazis. After France s surrender Charles de Gaulle urged the French to keep fighting the Germans. Right after France s surrender there ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Through April and May the resistance destroyed 1,800 train engines along with the 700 of Allied soldiers. One of their most amazing feats is having 150 sabotage acts between 1943 and 1944 using only 3,000 pounds of explosives, which is the same amount a Mosquito airplane carries on one bombing run. It wasn t all fun and games though on their last push to help liberate France on August 19th 1944, while German forces were rounding up resistance members for execution when the resistance went all out and attacked. A civilization called the Minoans the Bronze Age focused on trade and the quality of what they were trading. If the trade was better than the goods were made better. The age that came after bronze was iron. The Iron Age was a period when things were starting to be made out of iron. Iron was much stronger than bronze so that made it more valuable and wanted. • 47. How Did David Walker Impact On African American Literature Throughout time we see African American literature go through it rigorous period of troubled times. It was not often that African American poets or writers came together to share their identical thoughts. But, this may have come from some being born in different time periods, or it may have come from the location that many had to reside in to not be persecuted or damned from society. Although these writers may have never co existed amongst one another, their writings shared the same ideas. America needed to offer freedom and equality for blacks across the country, and to be given anything of less standard was deemed unacceptable. The Antebellum period of American literature included slave narrators such as Douglass, Brown, and Jacobs, who ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The speaker begins by claiming a connection to the world s ancient rivers that predated human beings, and that has made his soul grow deep like the rivers. • 48. The Nature Of Mt Wellington I am honored to have opportunity to address my opinion about the nature of Mt Wellington after delving the affairs from your letter. Before making any judgements, some problems are being worth paying closs attention to here, such as profitability of Mt Wellington, transfer of ownership. Enclosed with this letter is a detailed explaination in which you may find the constructive comments. Relating to core issue, there are two scenarios need to be classified, which will result different conclusions: In the first place, the present situation is some areas in Mt Wellington are privately owned by the Hobart and Glenorchy city councils, although the State Government has already introduced new laws during in the earlier period this year that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Similarly, we could use the same standard to measure the other part in Mt Wellington. The rest area that no one has way to claim could not be addressed as asset. The reason is there is no entity to manage that area. According to the Australian Accounting Standard Board AASB138, it falsifies one of the essential characteristic of being asset, asset must be control by the entity . Hence, this area could not be accounted as asset. When we make an intensive study of this unowned area, it should be put into a category of natural resource since it is out of management. According to Comstock (2016), a natural resource is something that is not made by humans but is necessary or useful in their lives . To some extent, the landscape, water resource and wild forest in this area have enriched the biodiversity and are helpful to the local environment construction. As local communities said, any activity within Wellington Park has the potential to have an impact upon natural and cultural values, and the Council s assets, within the reserve . In fact, no one has the right to possess himself/herself of the unclaimed area. At the moment, the whole Mt Wellington could not treated as an asset, even the current status is in good condition. However, there is another possibility that State Government or Commonweal would make Mt Wellington nationalized regardless of the approval and support from the Hobart and Glenorchy city councils. There is evidence that this ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
