Eric Erikson s Theory Of Psychosocial Development
Developmental psychology is a study of the growth and the maturation of a person over time. How the
individual grows psychically, cognitively and how they are socially over time. All of these factors
shape us into the person new become. I have decided to study in and focus on Erik Erikson s theory of
psychosocial development. He takes a closer look on the choices that we are forced to deal with and
the conflicts they make during different parts of their life. His theory has eight theories, there are
different types of problems and conflicts with each stage that an individual will encounter and have to
resolve. It s important to deal with these conflicts that are presented to the individual during the stages,
because if they are not taking care of the individual will end up struggling with them later on in life.
Erikson has a developmental process that explains the development between infancy to adulthood. He
explains this within 8 stages; during these stages the individual experiences crisis which could have a
positive or a negative outcome on the person s personality. Erikson is known as an ego psychologist
focusing on culture and society and the conflicts that can take place with someone s ego (McLeod, S).
The first stage is trust vs. mistrust this occurs during the first year of life where the infant is uncertain
about the world and they have to develop feelings. The infant finds hope in trusting someone, and has
to figure out who they will choose not to trust. The

Analysis Of I Have Killed The Deer
Tradition is a part of something as big as a cultural identity, or as small as a family obligation.
Traditions are not loved nor understood immediately, however with time the importance of tradition
becomes evident as it makes people unique and united. As a kid, serving meals every thanksgiving
may feel insignificant and tedious, but as an adolescent the small amount of time spent as a family
doing something annually has a lasting impact on one s values. Frank Waters fictional novel, The Man
Who Killed the Deer, Martiniano struggles to find a faith after he illegally kills a deer. Neither the
whites not the Indians seem welcoming because he offends both by breaking the law and not showing
respect to Indian ideology. The deer continues to haunt him until he understands the role of nature and
the cycle of life. The poem I Have Killed the Deer , written by a Taos Pueblo Indian, emphasizes the
importance of equality and the mystical connection with nature. Both works highlight the unique
Indian perspective of nature and its contribution their identity. Both Martiniano and the Taos Pueblo
Indian use nature to provide life; Martiniano s self centered view on the old Indian traditions prevent
him from finding peace in a faith, while the Taos Pueblo Indian fully appreciates and understands his
role in nature.
While both Martiniano and the Taos Pueblo Indian use death to provide themselves with life, the two
show a different level of respect to the role of nature. After Martiniano

The Communication Model Of Interpersonal Communication
Passing another student on the way to class and gesturing with a friendly wave, interacting with a
server in a local restaurant, or discussing ideas and pop culture with a roommate all seem like entirely
unrelated, daily interactions that happen in a typical college student s day. However, each daily
interaction, whether in the life of a college student or other person, follows a specific pattern of order
that helps people to perceive and interact with the environment and other individual around them. This
process, known as the communication model, is an important facet of human interaction that helps to
explain the processes involved in communicating with people and that helps to reveal important
details about effective interpersonal communication.
The communication model consists of eight different parts, which as they apply to every interpersonal
reaction, are often referred to as universals. Perhaps, the first and most important universal of
communication is the message, or the idea one tries to communicate to another in a conversation or
interaction. As every interaction hinges around a central message, all the other elements of the
communication model revolve around the sending and/or receiving of the message itself. Therefore,
the individual who sends a message to another is known as the sender, while the individual who
receives the message is referred to as the receiver. For example, when alarm clock pierces the early
morning silence, it becomes the sender, communicating a message to the person who hears its shrill
tones, the receiver, that he or she should wake up.
However, the communication process does not end with the reception of the message. Oftentimes, the
receiver responds to the sender of the message, which is called feedback, and prompts the continuation
of the communication process. Continuing with the previous example, after a sleeping person hears an
alarm clock, he or she responds to its message most often by letting out an audible gasp of dread or by
forcefully pressing the snooze button, which prompts the alarm to issue a second message, either of
momentary silence or of continued noise. In this way, both the sender and receiver transmit messages
to one another, playing both roles in

Nuclear Bombs During The Cold War
The Cold War was a frightening time for everyone involved, with the threat of nuclear destruction
constantly looming over the lives of American and Soviet citizens alike. Since the Cold War ended in
1991, the immediate concern over nuclear war has definitely dwindled, though not vanished. More
recently, concern has risen over the few more sporadic and antagonistic countries (mostly North
Korea), that do have nuclear weapons. Where the Cold War brought constant tension, the modern
nuclear menace brings a constant uncertainty over which small power (or potentially large one) may
decide to actually use their nuclear bombs for gain or posturing. Nuclear war was without a doubt a
much closer and much more direct fear during the Cold War, but today ... Show more content on

They have tested two nuclear weapons and although it is believed that they do not have the
capabilities to really launch them far or accurately, North Korea is close to two American ally
countries that host American military. If North Korea were to hit Japan or South Korea (assuming they
would aim for major population centers), one nuclear weapon could lead to anywhere from 125,000 to
400,00 fatalities/casualties.3 Due to North Korea s failing state it effectively needs to use its nuclear
weapons to deter countries from moving in (though China would probably prevent deterrence
anyway). The North Korea situation creates a unique but terrifying situation where at any point they
could cause immense damage, where retaliation would be difficult as the main entry points could be
annihilated. With China s desire to maintain North Korea as a (buffer state) it is hard to say how China

The Is Not The Case With Neil Gaiman
Fiction, as a genre, is a tricky form of prose. It is made out of imaginary characters and situations.
Often these are very disconnected from reality that the readers are almost always aware that they are
reading a book. That however is not the case with Neil Gaiman. His characters and situations are
always tied back to the reality we live in. As outrageous as events get in his worlds there s always an
element of reality, a real world problem that sucks the reader in. Even if he s talking of ancient gods or
a fictional London where rats can talk and fox like creatures have a taste for fine china, there s a
balancing element such as the ancient gods who enjoy a couple games of checkers or a protagonist
who is about to marry a woman who he ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The mirror , Foucault writes, functions as a heterotopia in this respect: it makes this place that I
occupy at the moment when I look at myself in the glass at once absolutely real, connected with all the
space that surrounds it, and absolutely unreal, since in order to be perceived it has to pass through this
virtual point which is over there (Of Other Spaces, 4). Gaiman s worlds do exactly that, the reader can
perceive this entire new world as real as the one he lives in but the quirky elements would suggest
otherwise because they are in fact within the borders of virtual. However, that which is virtual does
not mean it is completely out of reality as Foucault s description of heterotopia suggests. The
mirroring element to Gaiman s work shows that they cannot be qualified either as utopias but
dystopias, they are mere reflections of mundane reality. In one of his lectures We writers [...] have an
obligation to our readers , Gaiman says, it s the obligation to write true things, especially important
when we are creating tales of people who do not exist in places that never were to understand that
truth is not in what happens but what it tells us about who we are. Fiction is the lie that tells the truth,
after all (Why our future depends on libraries). Even by this it is possible to say that while writing
Gaiman has a clear vision and a means to mirror reality in his

Essay Revelation
The creation of the earth and all that is within the earth is mysterious yet miraculous at the same time.
Although there are probably hundreds of different accounts, they all seem to be different while almost
identical in text. I will be comparing and contrasting between account one and account two in the
book of Genesis. In the beginning, according to Genesis in the bible.
In the two creation accounts God is portrayed in two different ways. In the first account God is
portrayed as an ultimate or Supreme Being that creates the world by fiat, which are divine spoken
words. An example of this is found in Genesis 1:3, which says; Then God said, let there be light ; and
there was light. This is the
fiat ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the first account God created light, sea, land, vegetation, living creatures, then man and woman. In
the second account God created man from the earth (so land was created before man) then God
planted the garden in Eden and provided animals to give man a helper. The woman is the last creature
to be created in the second account, and is actually the same order in which the woman was created in
the first account.
The main difference in the two accounts is that man and woman are created last in the first account,
and in the second account, man is created before any life form and the rest seems to be provided for
him; even woman. It s the creation of woman that is consistent in both accounts. The avoided use of
sexual activity as a part of creation is similar among the two creation accounts. In the first account
sexual activity is not directly referred to at all. Instead, alternate words such as multiply and fruitful
(Gen 1:28) are used to suggest reproductive sexual activities. In the second account sexual interaction
is also avoided in the direct sense, but is indirectly referred to as a God given impulse (Gen 2:24 25).
It specifically refers to them becoming one flesh, and the man and woman being naked, but not
ashamed. The difference in the avoided use of sexuality is noted in the way the world was produced in

The Overuse Of Antibiotics In Factory Farms
In 1929, Alexander Fleming discovered penicillin. He found it was so effective on killing many
common types of bacteria, that it became the most well known antibiotic. Penicillin became popular in
every hospital, and was widely used to treat infections. Fleming won a Nobel Prize in medicine, and
warned it is not difficult to make microbes resistant to penicillin in the laboratory by exposing them to
concentrations not sufficient to kill them (Philpott). He knew the dangers with antibiotic resistant
microbes, and knew they could be overused. Almost 50 years later, the problem he envisioned became
a reality. Factory farms are doing harm to humans and the environment for their bad practices. The US
Environmental Protection Agency should regulate ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
One way is the runoff of contaminants into drinking water, and these contaminants include pathogens,
antibiotics, chemicals, and growth hormones. 53 percent of Americans use groundwater as their main
source of drinking water, and 29 states in the U.S have identified CAFOs as the main cause for low
quality groundwater. When pathogens are exposed to groundwater, they have the ability to survive
longer, and grow faster. This is due to lower temperature, and lack of sunlight. Many factory farmers
are developed near communities, so humans are exposed to these contaminants. This can cause serious
disease outbreaks within families that live near waste runoff sites, and have the potential of the disease
spreading across the community (Hribar). The other way that factory farms can harm humans is the
exposure to dust particles. Livestock produce a particle called endotoxin. Endotoxin is the main cause
for respiratory diseases in American, so factory farms are the main source to blame. Endotoxin has the
ability to cause allergic reactions, asthma, and even some lung cancer has been caused by too much
exposure to this deadly particle. These particles can easily be brought to local communities by wind
because it mostly is settled down inside of barns or already floating in the air. The manure also
contains significant amounts of the particle, so when a farmer spreads manure on a windy day, the
wind can take it and spread it

The Rhetorical Analysis Of Winston Churchill s Speech
Winston Churchill, a legendary Prime Minister, led Great Britain through some of its darkest times:
World War II. The speech he gave to the House of Commons on June 4, 1940, aptly nicknamed the We
shall fight on the beaches speech, carried great importance to his people. In the days before the
speech, the British faced a heavy military loss in Belgium and France. Belgium surrendered to the
Nazis, stranding numerous French and British troops at Dunkirk and neighboring beaches in France,
fully exposed to the advance of the Nazi war machine. With the ocean as their only feasible direction
of retreat, the Navy organized all its resources to pull the men out from Dunkirk over the English
Channel and bring them back to safety in England. The ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The country rejoiced, flooded with solace. By acknowledging the potential military disaster, catalyzed
by another country, Churchill emphasizes the significance of the successful withdrawal of his troops,
inspiring a sense of immense nationalism and pride in his audience. He perfectly seizes the
opportunity before him, as he knew that he had to stir his people to rise up and rebuild in order to win
his war. Churchill s ultimate goal was to keep fighting until either his country was destroyed or had
vanquished his enemies, and this escape, solely due to German error, provided a chance to bring the
British to victory. He knew the situation was still dire for him and his country. The British were vastly
outnumbered, and the loss of the Belgian army dealt a blow to the Allies. The speech was meant to
prime the British people for what was to come By praising the feats accomplished by his compatriots
and describing the spirit of their actions, Churchill excites the audience s sense of civic pride and duty.
The master of rhetoric, a popular, respected man, honored the individuals who persevered in the face
of adversity, and commends each wing of his military as well as the many civilians who participated
in the effort. In laudation of He continues to lionize the Royal Army in allusion to King

Similarities Between English American And French Revolutions
The future of a country is somewhat contrasted through distinguished moments in history, the English,
American and French revolutions proved this theory by shaping the countries into the powerhouses
they are today, all of which have some similarities in the general causes that lead to the countries
rebelling and eventually creating a new political and social order. The first of the three, the English
Great Rebellion was the result of the monarchy and its following fighting the wishes of parliament
throughout the 1640 s. The cause originated from James I who believed in the divine right of kings,
basically casting out the parliament involvement, even though the two were actually supposed to act
as a balanced polity . James I and the parliament disagreed on many things, but ... Show more content

The United States Congress Often Comes Across Issues That
The United States Congress often comes across issues that are met with gridlock. These politicians
often face complaints from people within their own workplace or just the average citizen. When they
see something that needs to be revised, they must articulate a plan that will not only satisfy their party,
but also the people who fall under the plan. These conflicts range from a president s term limits to
even repealing certain amendments. Just because it s written in the Constitution, doesn t mean it can t
be revised! Here are some concerns that have been brought up through the recent years. Term limits
for the Congress of the United States have been debated for quite some time. The debates were ignited
after the court ruling on Inc. vs. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This was one of his many attempts of trying to Drain the Swamp in politics. He stated that if elected
president, he would push for a constitutional amendment to enact a term limit on all members of
Congress. That has not happened yet, but only time will tell. (Phillips)
I believe the people and Congress see this as a way of putting a balance on the two main parties. I
agree with the Congressmen I have mentioned above. I do not believe that any member of Congress
should be able to hold their spot until they lose an election. We are a government with checks and
balances after all! We should do everything in our power to make sure that we are a truly free and well
represented society.
The mandatory balanced budget is another topic that is thrown around in Congress. According to
Wikipedia, every state with the exception of Vermont contains some sort of a balanced budget. Our
Federal Government does not. Our Federal Government is not required to have a balanced budget.
With that being said, that means that as long as the bill is passed, they are allowed to spend as they
please. No wonder why our debt is almost at twenty trillion..
Now, just because there is not an amendment for a balanced budget, does not mean there have not
been any attempts to try and pass one. Sadly, Conservatives have not been able to get the votes
necessary to pass any of their plans for this budget. Ronald Raegan was one of the first people to

The Theme of Isolation in Robert Frost s The Mending Wall...
The Theme of Isolation in Robert Frost s The Mending Wall
Robert Frost s The Mending Wall is a comment on the nature of our society. In this poem, Frost
examines the way in which we interact with one another and how we function as a whole. For Frost,
the world is often one of isolation. Man has difficulty communicating and relating to one another. As a
result, we have a tendency to shut ourselves off from others. In the absence of effective
communication, we play the foolish game of avoiding any meaningful contact with others in order to
gain privacy.
The Mending Wall describes two neighboring farmers who basically live in isolation, at least from one
another. Frost s use of language reinforces the idea of isolation. When ... Show more content on

He has learned that it is easier to shut someone out than to attempt to effectively communicate.
While the narrator seems more willing to reach out to his neighbor, in the end, he does not. He does
wonder why fences supposedly make good neighbors. For him, the question is what is he walling in or
walling out ? He seems to realize that he is walling out other people. As long as the symbolic wall
stands between the neighbors, they will always be separated. Earlier in the poem, Frost uses the
symbolism of a rabbit to seemingly reinforce this point. The hunters must destroy the wall in order to
have the rabbit out of hiding . The men, in turn must break down the walls between them if they are to
come out of hiding . The narrator seems to have a desire to point this out to his neighbor. However, he
does not, simply dismissing his idea as the mischief that spring has instilled in him. He realizes that he
is unable to communicate with his neighbor in any meaningful fashion and, thus, remains in isolation
from him.
Frost considers the interaction between the two men to be nothing more than a foolish game. He uses
language which makes the process of wall mending seem structured and organized in the manner of a
game. The two men walk the line as they keep the wall between us as we go . Frost makes the men
seem like opponents in this kind of outdoor game , as they are positioned one on a side . Thus as they
work together,

Several years before and after the turn the turn of the twentieth century, America experienced a large
influx of European immigration. These new citizens had come in search of the American dream of
success, bolstered by promise of good fortune. Instead they found themselves beaten into failure by
American industry. Upton Sinclair wanted to expose the cruelty and heartlessness endured by these
ordinary workers. He chose to represent the industrial world through the meatpacking industry, where
the rewards of progress were enjoyed only by the privileged, who exploited the powerless masses of
workers. The Jungle is a novel and a work of investigative journalism; its primary purpose was to

Politics And History Through An Alternative Path For Self...

Politics and history through an alternative path to self rule
Lagaan (2001), through the setting of Hindi cinema and the popular appeal of cricket, charts an
alternative history of India, from the colonised past of 1893 to an ideal post colonial future. Using
elements of pop culture, the director Ashutosh Gowarikar transforms the singularity of Champaneer s
struggle against triple lagaan, into a microcosm of an Indian nation s ideal path toward self rule.
Notably, this self rule is ideologically centred ex ante on Gandhi s vision of self sufficient village
units, as mentioned in Hind Swaraj . In doing so, Gowarikar is able to (a) tell the historical tale of
colonial rule and oppression in India, and (b) through dealing with Champaneer s internal struggles
toward becoming a self sufficient village unit, highlight current thorny issues of Indian politics.
Gowarikar uses the popularity of cricket in India as a catalyst for a nationalistic struggle. Although the
wager is based on the amelioration of economic conditions for Champaneer (namely triple lagaan
versus no lagaan), the bet transforms into a struggle for independence and self rule through the
medium of cricket. To the audience, cricket gives this marginalised, hitherto unknown village a
(notably non violent) medium with which they can resist colonial oppression. While the villagers fight
for the right to pay no tax for three years, the audience is invited to interpret

Public School Vs. Home Schooling System
In society, people have their own techniques of teaching and learning. Parents have their own
preference on whether they want their children in a public school or home schooling system. They
have to look at the advantages and disadvantages that come with making the right choice for their
child s education. Being home schooled, does not give the child the ability to be around new people.
Some parents cannot afford for their child to be home schooled, and choose to have them enrolled in
public school. Having students in a public school has a better learning aspect and more affordable.
Parents have to look at the optimistic choices that come out of their child attending a Public school.
Public school is a place for students to interact and communicate with their peers. Students learn how
to act with their friends, either in a negative or positive manner. They have to learn to associate with a
diverse culture of people. Children have to understand different personalities because everyone is not
the same. Parents have to be willing to let a child go out and find their personality and some freedom.
A public school offers advanced learning and skills for children of all ages and disabilities. Public
school allows students to have full attention and extra help from their teacher. Especially if the child is
having problems at home, they have another adult person they can look to for help. They are given
counselors that are specialized to assist students with their difficulty either

their health and keep them active. As aging occurs, sometimes involvement in sports and physical
activities weans off. Dancing is an activity that many partake in, whether it be on the professional
stage or in the comforts of the home. To many, dancing brings joy and studies have shown that
dancing can reduce anxiety.
There have also been studies that indicate that physical activity, particularly dancing, can help
improve aging related brain health by aiding with Parkinson s disease. Parkinson s afflicts millions

Pollution Of Beachwater
Beach vacations are an annual summer event for many families. But beachgoers at polluted beaches
around the country may bring back an unwanted souvenir from their trip: ear infections, stomach flu,

Bills now pending in Congress would provide funding for much needed beach cleanup efforts and
help ensure that the public is notified promptly when beaches are unsafe for swimming. These bills
will help make sure that our beaches are safe for swimming every day.
Polluted Beaches Can Cause Health
Problems for Swimmers
Beach closings and advisories are at a record high in U.S. coastal waters because of beachwater
contamination from human and animal waste. When it rains, untreated sewage and contaminated
stormwater flow into beachwaters from overflowing sewers, stormwater pipes, and treatment plant
bypasses, carrying human waste, animal waste, trash, and other bacteria laden discharges into the
water where it can make swimmers sick.
The most common health impact of this contamination is severe stomach upset, but swimmers can
also get earaches, pinkeye, respiratory ailments, and even very serious illnesses like meningitis and
hepatitis. Often swimmers don t realize that their illness was contracted while swimming at a
contaminated beach.
Small children, the elderly, pregnant women, and cancer patients and others with weakened immune
systems are most at risk for illness caused by contaminated beachwater. According to the
Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, children under the age of nine had more reports of
diarrhea and vomiting from exposure to waterborne parasites than any other age group

Choosing A Valedictorian In Margaret Talbot s Best In Class
In Best in Class , author Margaret Talbot challenges the traditional system of choosing a valedictorian
by exposing the emotional opposition to the system s change as the subtle manipulation of her writing
to emphasize specific opinions and emotions to further the idea that it is time for the valedictorian
system to change.
Talbot uses an actual event where the process of choosing a valedictorian was extremely stressful for
the students. Talbot introduces her claim with the incident of Sarasota High School to display to the
readers how students will go by any means to receive valedictorian. As a result of complaints of many
parents, who have high expectations of their children, teachers began to feel entitled to awarding the
achievement ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Lawsuits, having a negative connotation to many schools, occur very often when it comes to the
arrangement of deciding on a valedictorian. Talbot refers to multiple cases regarding lawsuits as well
as take on the different opinions on each issue. She emphasizes each concern by discussing the
negative effects on both the students and the teachers that allowed the idea to share valedictorians. By
associating herself with multiple sources, who vary from professors to students themselves, Talbot
strengthens her credibility as well as appeal to older readers, who may possibly be parents of studious
children. The author jumps back and forth to multiple sub subjects of her argument to view the
different perspectives of the main argument, yet by using certain phrases, Talbot hints that her claim is
that there really shouldn t be a single valedictorian. Talbot stresses the events in which having a single
valedictorian has only a negative effect, which can be seen clearly through her choice of words. Even
though Talbot presents multiple claims that contradict each other, she strongly represents her claim in
paragraph 31, where she proposes an idea that isn t entirely like the traditional single valedictorian
system, this enhances the personal anecdote Talbot creates with the

Dark Matter Essay
There is perhaps no current problem of greater importance to astrophysics and cosmology than that of
quot;dark matter quot;. The controversy, as the name implies, is centered on the notion that there may
exist an enormous amount of matter in the Universe that cannot be detected from the light that it
emits. The evidence of dark matter is from the motions of astronomical objects, specifically stellar,
galactic, and galaxy cluster/supercluster observations.
The basic argument is that if we measure velocities in some region, then there has to be enough mass
there for gravity to stop all the objects from flying apart. When such velocity measurements are done
on large scales, it turns out that the amount of inferred mass is much more than ... Show more content

The particles include photinos, neutrinos, gravitinos, axions, and magnetic monopoles, among many
others. Of these, researchers have detected only neutrinos and whether neutrinos have any mass
remains unknown. Experiments are under way to detect other exotic particles. If they exist, and if one
has a mass in the correct range, then that particle might pervade the universe and constitute dark
matter.
The MACHO Project is a collaboration between scientists at the Mt. Stromlo amp; Siding Spring
Observatories, the Center for Particle Astrophysics at the Santa Barbara, San Diego, amp; Berkeley

primary aim is to test the hypothesis that a significant fraction of the dark matter in the halo of the
Milky Way is made up of objects like brown dwarfs or planets: these objects have come to be known
as MACHOs, for MAssive Compact Halo Objects. The signature of these objects is the occasional
amplification of the light from extragalactic stars by the gravitational lens effect. The amplification
can be large, but events are extremely rare: it is necessary to monitor photometrically several million
stars for a period of years in order to obtain a useful detection rate. For this purpose they must have
built a two channel system that employs eight CCDs, mounted on the 50 inch telescope at Mt.

`` The Price Of Success ``
Vince Lombardi once said, The price of success is hard work, dedication to the job at hand, and the
determination that whether we win or lose, we have applied the best of ourselves to the task at hand.
Donald Trump successfully won the 2016 election and will have four more years to successfully carry
out his term. From childhood to adulthood Trump has shown a charismatic personality, therefore, there
are plenty of insights predicting his actions during his presidency. In Maslow s Hierarchy of Needs
there are five stages. In order, the stages are: Physiological, Safety, Love and Belongingness, Esteem,
and Self Actualization. Trump flip flops between two of the stages: Love and Belongingness, and
Esteem. One of Trump s traits of the Big Five is narcissism, which in the McAdam s (2016) article, it
states that people display this trait because they lack early life mirroring. This means that the parents
failed to lovingly reflect on their child s budding grandiosity, in return, leaving the child desperately
seeking affirmation from others throughout their lives. Love and Belongingness reflects Trump s
narcissistic tendencies in this way. Trump shows the Esteem stage with his need to be the best, be
successful, and prove that he can be a successful president. As president of the United States, Trump is
trying to fulfill his Self Actualization need with Self Transcendence by helping others and fulfill his
inner potential as president. Trump bases his actions and goals on the

1 Clone Detection
When the software are created, many times the codes are simply copy pasted, with small changes.
This is called cloning. Investigating these copy pasted sections of source codes is called Clone
Detection. It was discovered that about 10 15% of the code in a software system was copy pasted[1]
For refac toring, or at least noting. Clone detection techniques try to nd cloned codes. Techniques
for detecting clones may include programming language speci c parsing to simple text based analysis.
Parsing code technique have an advantage as they are semantically aware which allows them to detect
similarities between the structures of di erent code segments where the dif ference between naming
of variables and parameters is too much. The latter, on the other hand, can be used over a broad
variety of material as they aren t language speci c.
NiCad[2], a clone detector tool, uses hybrid clone detection method, com bining features of both
language sensitive parsing and text based analysis.
It works in three stages Parsing, Normalization and comparison. The rst stage involves parsing the
input source to extract all fragments of a given granularity, such as

Putting Constitutional Protections in the Backseat for...
A country born of laws, rights and citizenship with the idea of a free people to govern over
themselves, was the original intent of the American experience. However, America did not inherit
traditional bonds of a national identity, so it had to rely on a few cultural foundations that became
critical in deciding who belonged in the American experience. The pillars seemed to be a common
language of English, a religion based on a broad view of Christianity, and the notion of a traditional
family. As more people were included politically, more people were excluded culturally if they did not
conform to some version of those three expected characteristics. This weeks reading demonstrates
how Constitutional guarantees take a backseat in the wake ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

The abuse of power transcended national boarders as the U.S. government turned a blind eye to
American troops engaged in the unleashed and unchecked torture of prisoners of war. The use of
torture is not in the national interest, as it has been found that the intelligence gained through torture is
unreliable. Like the Japanese after Pearl Harbor, America consistently presses or even oversteps its
Constitutional boundaries in times of national security. The cultural foundations deeply ingrained in
the American experience provide little relief towards an amicable concept of Rooted
Cosmopolitanism. Southern California is an outlier, geographically dethatched with an aura of
modernity. Rapidly advancing modernization and an influx of religious diversity emerged in tandem;
the effect Christianity molded to secular exigencies shaping a pluralistic state. However, Southern
California reflects a religious model independently formed, largely out of reach from the grip of
ripened American values and democratic traditions prevailing in the eastern part of the country. The
distasteful reality, in which Roof did not address, is what would happen if Southern California bred
the emergence of a religious practice similar to that of polygamy in Utah? Society and the Courts have
fiercely preserved traditional American values, and would without doubt precipitously intervene.
Perhaps, religious pluralism flourished so well in Southern California because, as Roof cited,

Dress Codes In Schools
Should schools have a dress code? Harvard University recently put out an article talking about how
54% of schools in America have a strict dress code and the other 46% either don t or only have a small
dress code rule. Schools should have a dress code but it doesn t have to be very strict.
Schools having a dress code is necessary but some schools go a little overboard with dress code. For
example, the article Harvard recently put out addresses that dress codes are a must in most schools but
not a big deal in the rest of the schools. As another, Harvard also said, Dress codes are important but
some schools take it a little too far. This is important because schools should have a dress code but, a

Intelligence And The Ability Model Of Emotional Intelligence
Process Oriented Theory This theory explains intelligence as the specific process of solving problems
that individuals encounter. Piaget (1952), one of the eminent proponents of this kind of theories, has
proposed intelligence as an adaptive process, which a child experiences at various stages of his/her
life. Gardner (1983) has developed a theory of multiple intelligence on the basis of cultural
significance and their correspondence to the human brain structure (Table 3). Besides the physical and
musical varieties, he has identified six other types of intelligence: spatial (visual), interpersonal (the
ability to understand others), intrapersonal (the ability to understand oneself), naturalist (the ability to

research findings on emotional intelligence.
MODELS OF EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE Two types of emotional intelligence models are
available in the existing literature: (a) Ability model, which focuses on the mental abilities to define
emotional intelligence and (b) Mixed models, which seek to define emotional intelligence as a mixture

Ability Model of Emotional Intelligence This model of emotional intelligence as described in the

Roma And Ethnic Identity
1. Why do some Roma hide their ethnic identities? Some Roma hide their ethnic identities because it
can be dangerous and bad for their business because of the stereotyping that goes along with being a
Roma. Also, depending on the community, they may be threatened, attacked, or discriminated again.
2. What challenges did the Roma face in different parts of the world? The Roma face a variety of
challenges in different parts of the world. When the Roma moved to Western Europe, people took
away their history by twisting what it truly meant to be Roma. They also tried to destroy the Roma
culture. In Halifax, Nova Scotia, the Roma were stoned by the citizens of Halifax simply because of
their ethnicity. The Roma then traveled to Australia, South Africa, Tasmania, Buenos Aires, and back
to England. They traveled because they were not accepted as citizens in any of these countries. When
they returned to England, they found that a lot of the Roma had settled down because they couldn t
take the abuse. When Julia lived in a small village in Scotland her family was the target for racism.
Local people would vandalize their home and kill their dogs. One day, Julia was playing outside with
her sister when a young man threw a brick at her head that spilt her head open. When her sister tried to
help her, they beat her with a pipe. In Spain the Roma were fighting against the fascists. Lolo, who
joined an Anti Fascists movement when he lived in Spain, was tortured for ten days and ten nights.

The Diffusion Of Tele Health Care
Tarde s vision affected the evolution of many scientific specialties. For example, Bryce Ryan and Neal
C. Gross analyzed the implementation of hybrid corn in farms of Iowa. Ryan and Gross found that
farmers began to implement the hybrid corn through two communication channels, mass media and
dialogue between farmers. Through this they found that each communication channel played different
roles. Ryan and Gross discovered that mass communication served as initial exposure and what help

Being able to successfully introduce and maintain a new idea is very significant in healthcare to
improve the results. Rogers Diffusion of Innovation theory is a very crucial framework that can be
used in a variety of settings. Diffusion theory provides a credible clarification of how some innovation

idea (Sanson Fisher, 2004). Rogers s theory shows that some ideas may be adopted by the behavior of
others, while other times it may entail more complex communication mechanisms and can be
dependent on the social system at play. This model has recognized the crucial elements needed to
establish change. As technology improves our communication venues become greater and distribution

While some may argue that this case lacks the balancing of rights perspective that was employed in

Code Of Ethics And Ethics
Code of Ethics Overview
According to Johnson (2015), the code of ethics is described as an organization s ethical stance both to
members and to the outside world. Individuals new to an organization look to the codes for guidance,
instruction, and the organization s ethical standards and values. Also, code of ethics serves as a formal
ethics statement improving the organization s image protecting it from lawsuits and further regulation.
Code of ethics policies are designed for organizations to follow in everything they do. Employees are
bound by the rules and regulations of these policies sometimes relieving organizations from unlawful
lawsuits.
The general overview of organizational policies includes a value statement, written statements of
ethics policies, comprehensive and specific in terms of expectations. Von der Embse, Desai, and Ofori
Brobbey, (2010).
Rationale for Design of Code of Ethics
Von der Embse, Desai, Ofori Brobbey (2010) elaborated on the rationale for code of ethics claiming
that ethical safeguards were defined as deliberate measures and programs used by an organization to
prevent unethical behavior and to promote ethical practices, mechanisms, structures, or
pronouncements intended to encourage, guide, and regulate ethical behavior. While they vary in
number, type, and comprehensiveness, the ethics code is the most widely used safeguard and main
point of reference for others.
The code of ethics overview describes the effectiveness of creating a code

Pathology and Epidemiology of Anterior Poliomyelitis Essay
Anterior Poliomyelitis is a highly infectious disease that attacks the anterior horn of the spinal cord.
Poliomyelitis translates to grey spinal matter inflammation. Polio is caused by a picorna virus that
enters the body through mucus membranes and then multiplies in the throat and being an acidophile,
can survive well in the stomach and small intestine. When viremia occurs and persists, the virus will
penetrate the capillary wall. Once this happens, it enters the central nervous system and begins
attacking motor neurons. Polio is tissue specific and will only multiply and attack neurons. this strict

This is when viremia will occur and the virus will begin to spread. If it does not reach the central
nervous system then the patient will only have abortive poliomyelitis. They will have some flu like
symptoms and experience a full recovery. As the virus goes further, one may become stricken with
aseptic meningitis. This polio is considered non paralytic, has the same symptoms as abortive
poliomyelitis, and irritates the meninges. This causes back and neck pain and stiffness but has a full
recovery. The worst case scenario is paralytic poliomyelitis. This occurs when the virus begins
replicating in the brain stem and anterior horn causing cell destruction and neurological damage in the
form of paralysis. This is very rare and occurs in less than 2% of infections. While paralysis of the
legs is most common, it can affect the arms, or worse, spread to the trunk. When the legs are affected,
the patient is fitted with braces to help with recovery (Figure 1) If it continues and reaches bulbar
polio, the brain stem becomes paralyzed and generally the patient will die from asphyxiation. (Flynn)

The Competitive Landscape Of The Quick Service Restaurant
The Competitive Landscape Companies in the Quick Service Restaurant (QSR) industry compete
mainly on efficient operations and effective marketing. Usually, large companies enjoy advantages
over small companies in terms of purchasing, finance, and marketing. But small companies can still
compete by improving their products and services. The US is the global QSR market leader, taking
20% of global industry revenues (Hoovers). According to Porter, an industry has to have sustainable
profits for firms to foresee in order to make firms profitable and successful (Porter, 3). However,
according to our research the QSR industry is in danger of reaching unsustainable profit margins if
industry leaders fail to adapt their business practices to this volatile market. The dining culture has
changed over the years as people have become more aware of healthy eating lifestyle. This trend is
expected to continuously dictate future market demand. Another factor to determine a company s
success mentioned by Porter s is industry positioning (Porter, 1985). The position in the industry is
crucial for companies who have empathies for their customers health. Many of them are not dominant
firms in QSR industry and some of them are emerging in the industry. They need to find the exquisite

young men and women came and also started to believe in his ideas as well. He would tell them The

Although the role of heritability is important to consider, due to the real world implications it has of
helping to identify at risk children who are more likely to develop dyslexia, it cannot explain why
there is only a 50 per cent rate of heritability for dyslexia. There has also been very little research into
the heritability of either deficits in visual processing, or cerebellar abnormality.
Despite the support for the phonological deficit hypothesis, one of the main criticisms of the theory is
that it fails to acknowledge possible deficits in visual processing which may cause dyslexia. The
visual magnocellular deficit hypothesis (Stein, 2000) suggests that dyslexia may be caused by
deficiencies within visual processing; specifically within the magnocellular system, which is
responsible among other things for timing visual events when reading (Stein, 2001). Therefore, if our
eyes wander whilst reading, the magnocellular is responsible for bringing our focus back on target. In
dyslexics, it is suggested that

Christian Tradition and Non-Christian Tradition are Two...
Many have heard of Faust in one way or another. A Faustian Bargain is one where an agent trades
away the future for a boon in power during the present. I will be exploring at least two magical
traditions in Marlowe s Faust: the Christian tradition and the non Christian tradition.
Not many stories captivate readers like Marlowe s Faust can captivate. It s the classic story of a man
who risks hellfire by dealing with the devil for a brief, yet magnificent, period of otherworldly
knowledge and power. This story has been rewritten and reformulated time and time again. I aim to
show that the story of Faust is inspired by the story of Adam and Eve.
What accounts for this story s persistence? I think it is because readers are gripped by the fantasy of
humans possessing divine powers, engaging in adventures and magical exploits, and trafficking with
the greatest of evils.
Many view the Faust tradition from the perspective of magus literature. Their searches for Faust s
beginnings often turn up magicians. The historical Johann Faustus, a sixteenth century charlatan who
wandered across Germany, who exercised a minimum of pharmaceutical knowledge...with a
maximum amount of malice, was himself a magician.
E. M. Butler, in The Myth of the Magus, links Faust with a broad number of magicians extending back
to Moses and others. Other scholars, seeing the Faust legend as a Christian story, seek Faust s roots in
a more limited way. Here the consensus identifies Simon Magus as the

The Effect Of An Auditory Signals On One s Perception Of...
In this article, the researchers studied the effect of an auditory signal on one s perception of eye gaze.
They mention that people are born with the ability to differentiate between direct and adverted gaze,
and this ability becomes increasingly important throughout adulthood. Another important social signal
involves a person s auditory system. In infancy, children become sensitive to hearing their own name.
This auditory signal often occurs at the same time as direct eye contact. The researchers in this study
were trying to determine the correlation between someone hearing his/her own name and that person s
perception of the speaker s gaze. The article mentioned earlier studies have shown that a person s gaze
tends to gravitate ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There were 6 males and 11 females with a mean age of 24.8 years and a standard deviation of 5.03
years. They used gray scale photographs with neutral expressions, and altered the position of the iris
by increments of 1 pixel per image. This created the seven gaze deviations, including: direct gaze and
gaze shifts (to both the left and right) of 4, 7, and 10 pixels. For the auditory stimuli, the researchers
used recordings of four male speakers who would either say the participant s actual name or a control
name. For the experiment, the researchers placed a monitor in front of the participants and performed
256 randomly presented trials (64 trials represented at direct gaze and 64 trials for each of the three
gaze deviations). Each trial started with a central fixation cross on the screen between 500 and 1,750
ms. A variable interval approach was used in order to make sure the participants did not expect the
stimuli. After the cross, the participant were shown a face for 600 ms, and they heard a name through
headphones. They were given a 2,000 ms interval to press a button, reporting if they perceived the
gaze of the face to be looking to the left, right, or directly at them.
Result
After the experiment, the researchers calculated the range of gaze deviations for the two conditions,
own name and other name. They called these ranges

The Challenges Of Professional s Infectiveness
Schon (1983) states, We look to professionals for definitions and solutions of our problems and
through them we strive for social progress (p.4). Professionals and practitioners are individuals that
are highly educated in a certain field of study. For example, our government looks to them for
expertise for certain public problems. They are an essential part to our society. They work in favor of
the public good because they come up with expert solutions to public problems. Professionals have
their challenges and have been known in some incidences to negatively impact the society.
Professional s infectiveness is a challenge that professionals face when trying to come up with
solutions. Some solutions are just as bad or even worse than intended to be. According to Schon,
advocates for peace and the civil rights of minorities joined forces and turned against experts of whom
they saw as instruments of an all powerful establishment. Some public problems should be solved by
moral and political choice (Schon, 1983, p.9 11)
All public servants overcome challenges faced in their positions. The public servant role of a
Municipal Court Judge faces many challenges during his/her judgeship. In an interview with Judge
Sybil Cleveland, she stated that a challenge of judgeship is following the judicial code of ethics
(personal communication, November 7, 2015). There is a code of conduct for all United States Judges,
which includes federal, state and local judges. According to United States

Important Technologies Of Dsp And Reason Behind Its...
Nijo John HW1 Important Technologies in DSP and reason behind its importance Digital signal
processing (DSP) is the numerical manipulation of signals, usually with the intention to measure,
filter, produce or compress continuous analog signals. It is characterized by the use of digital signals
to represent these signals as discrete time, discrete frequency, or other discrete domain signals in the
form of a sequence of numbers or symbols to permit the digital processing of these signals. In this
digital Era, Signal processing plays an important role in making our life much easier. The important
theorems and technologies used in Signal Processing are Image Processing, Biomedical Signal
Processing, Fourier Transform, Convolution, and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Image processing must be approached in a manner consistent with the scientific method so that others
may reproduce, and validate, one s results. This includes recording and reporting processing actions,
and applying similar treatments to adequate control images. Image Processing helps in Medical fields
to detect severe diseases like cancer. For the security devices, Image Processing plays an important
role. So In our day to day life, Digital Signal Processing especially Digital Image processing has its
own major contributions to make it easy. 2. Biomedical Signal Processing Our bodies are constantly
communicating information about our health. This information can be captured through physiological
instruments that measure heart rate, blood pressure, oxygen saturation levels, blood glucose, nerve
conduction, brain activity and so forth. Traditionally, such measurements are taken at specific points in
time and noted on a patient s chart. Physicians actually see less than one percent of these values as
they make their rounds and treatment decisions are made based upon these isolated readings.
Biomedical signal processing involves the analysis of these measurements to provide useful
information upon which clinicians can make decisions. Engineers are discovering new ways to
process these signals using a variety of mathematical formulae and algorithms. Working with
traditional biomeasurement tools, the signals can be

Introduction . In High Acute Settings, Such As Intensive
Introduction
In high acute settings, such as intensive care units essential nursing care such as oral care is very vital
to prevent life threatening complications such as nosocomial acquired, Ventilator Associated
Pneumonia (VAP), and also most patients in intensive care are on oral intubation, and medications
such as anticholinergics, antihypertensives, which may lead to xerostomia (dry mouth). One of the
challenging nosocomial infections is VAP, and a leading cause of mortality in hospital patients in high
acuity settings (Jones, 2007). The development of VAP is occurred due to mechanical ventilation,
longer ICU stays and longer intubation periods, increasing the mortality of ICU patients to as high as
70 per cent (Jones, 2007). Good ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Which may further lead to prioritising oral care as a less priority for nurses than other aspects of care
(H. Jones et al., 2004). In turn, even the tapes that are used in the fixation of the tube quickly become
heavily contaminated with the bacterium in the existence of salivary secretions and the hitches
associated with cleaning the mouth (Abidia, 2007). So, they have greater susceptibility to nosocomial
acquired infections such as ventilator Associated Pneumonia (VAP) (Zurmehly, 2013). Patients who
are intubated are also forced to keep their mouths open which leads to xerostomia, caused due to
dryness of oral mucosa (Miranda, de Paula, de Castro Piau, Costa, Bezerra, 2016). Furthermore,
patients who may have some medical conditions have oral manifestations such as diabetes, Crohn s
disease, Leukaemia (H. Jones et al., 2004). In order to prevent these life threatening complications, it
is important to prioritise oral care as an essential nursing priority in high acuity settings by doing
appropriate and more frequent oral assessments followed by mouth care with an evidence based
approach.
Oral Assessment
To initiate interventions, patients oral care requirements are to be identified. To process and evaluate,
assessment needs to be performed. Evidence suggested oral assessment should be performed using a
checklist within the 24 hours

Author s Exploration And Nature Of Nature In Pilgrim At...
Pilgrim at Tinker Creek, published in 1974, is a nonfiction book written by Annie Dillard. The book is
a collection of fifteen interconnected essays about author s exploration and thoughts on nature. The
narrative takes place at Tinker Creek in Blue Ridge Mountains in Virginia. Dillard wrote about her
pilgrim, her religious journey that took place over the period of one year. The book can be divided in
two parts. In the first part the author is being amazed while exploring the beauty of nature and talking
about the positive sides of the world while in the second part author focuses on the dark sides of
nature.

The New Orleans Conceived Craftsman
It s four years since Frank Ocean s last collection, Channel Orange, and 13 months since he
guaranteed the postliminary, Boys Don t Cry, would be discharged.
In a time when numerous significant specialists are productive , for example, Drake or universal
Rihanna, Beyoncц╘ the New Orleans conceived craftsman has taken as much time as is needed and
stayed under the radar. Past a modest bunch of visitor vocal appearances, an a capella track on Kanye
West s The Life of Pablo, a two minute representation of tune called Memrise and an appearance in a
Calvin Klein advertisement, next to no has been seen or gotten notification from Ocean.
The anticipation was broken on 1 August, when baffling footage purportedly recorded in 2015 showed
up on the site boysdontcry.co. For about 48 hours, a camera was settled on a highly contrasting CCTV
like setup that demonstrated within a void stockroom and a line of apparatus. We saw a substantial
heap of speakers, potentially taken from an establishment by the craftsman and companion of Ocean
Tom Sachs, that is as of now being appeared at Brooklyn Museum in New York. On occasion, a figure
later uncovered to be Ocean would arrive and begin to cut, bore and sand boards of wood. These
pictures would circle, and once in a while new camera points were presented. Yet, once the viewer
acknowledged there was no peak or plot turn to come unless you consider the minute when he quickly
checked his telephone a true to life highlight

  • 2. Eric Erikson s Theory Of Psychosocial Development Developmental psychology is a study of the growth and the maturation of a person over time. How the individual grows psychically, cognitively and how they are socially over time. All of these factors shape us into the person new become. I have decided to study in and focus on Erik Erikson s theory of psychosocial development. He takes a closer look on the choices that we are forced to deal with and the conflicts they make during different parts of their life. His theory has eight theories, there are different types of problems and conflicts with each stage that an individual will encounter and have to resolve. It s important to deal with these conflicts that are presented to the individual during the stages, because if they are not taking care of the individual will end up struggling with them later on in life. Erikson has a developmental process that explains the development between infancy to adulthood. He explains this within 8 stages; during these stages the individual experiences crisis which could have a positive or a negative outcome on the person s personality. Erikson is known as an ego psychologist focusing on culture and society and the conflicts that can take place with someone s ego (McLeod, S). The first stage is trust vs. mistrust this occurs during the first year of life where the infant is uncertain about the world and they have to develop feelings. The infant finds hope in trusting someone, and has to figure out who they will choose not to trust. The ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Analysis Of I Have Killed The Deer Tradition is a part of something as big as a cultural identity, or as small as a family obligation. Traditions are not loved nor understood immediately, however with time the importance of tradition becomes evident as it makes people unique and united. As a kid, serving meals every thanksgiving may feel insignificant and tedious, but as an adolescent the small amount of time spent as a family doing something annually has a lasting impact on one s values. Frank Waters fictional novel, The Man Who Killed the Deer, Martiniano struggles to find a faith after he illegally kills a deer. Neither the whites not the Indians seem welcoming because he offends both by breaking the law and not showing respect to Indian ideology. The deer continues to haunt him until he understands the role of nature and the cycle of life. The poem I Have Killed the Deer , written by a Taos Pueblo Indian, emphasizes the importance of equality and the mystical connection with nature. Both works highlight the unique Indian perspective of nature and its contribution their identity. Both Martiniano and the Taos Pueblo Indian use nature to provide life; Martiniano s self centered view on the old Indian traditions prevent him from finding peace in a faith, while the Taos Pueblo Indian fully appreciates and understands his role in nature. While both Martiniano and the Taos Pueblo Indian use death to provide themselves with life, the two show a different level of respect to the role of nature. After Martiniano ... However, each daily interaction, whether in the life of a college student or other person, follows a specific pattern of order that helps people to perceive and interact with the environment and other individual around them. This process, known as the communication model, is an important facet of human interaction that helps to explain the processes involved in communicating with people and that helps to reveal important details about effective interpersonal communication. The communication model consists of eight different parts, which as they apply to every interpersonal reaction, are often referred to as universals. Perhaps, the first and most important universal of communication is the message, or the idea one tries to communicate to another in a conversation or interaction. As every interaction hinges around a central message, all the other elements of the communication model revolve around the sending and/or receiving of the message itself. Therefore, the individual who sends a message to another is known as the sender, while the individual who receives the message is referred to as the receiver. For example, when alarm clock pierces the early morning silence, it becomes the sender, communicating a message to the person who hears its shrill tones, the receiver, that he or she should wake up. However, the communication process does not end with the reception of the message. Oftentimes, the receiver responds to the sender of the message, which is called feedback, and prompts the continuation of the communication process. Continuing with the previous example, after a sleeping person hears an alarm clock, he or she responds to its message most often by letting out an audible gasp of dread or by forcefully pressing the snooze button, which prompts the alarm to issue a second message, either of momentary silence or of continued noise. In this way, both the sender and receiver transmit messages to one another, playing both roles in ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Nuclear Bombs During The Cold War The Cold War was a frightening time for everyone involved, with the threat of nuclear destruction constantly looming over the lives of American and Soviet citizens alike. Since the Cold War ended in 1991, the immediate concern over nuclear war has definitely dwindled, though not vanished. More recently, concern has risen over the few more sporadic and antagonistic countries (mostly North Korea), that do have nuclear weapons. Where the Cold War brought constant tension, the modern nuclear menace brings a constant uncertainty over which small power (or potentially large one) may decide to actually use their nuclear bombs for gain or posturing. Often these are very disconnected from reality that the readers are almost always aware that they are reading a book. That however is not the case with Neil Gaiman. His characters and situations are always tied back to the reality we live in. As outrageous as events get in his worlds there s always an element of reality, a real world problem that sucks the reader in. Even if he s talking of ancient gods or a fictional London where rats can talk and fox like creatures have a taste for fine china, there s a balancing element such as the ancient gods who enjoy a couple games of checkers or a protagonist who is about to marry a woman who he ... The mirror , Foucault writes, functions as a heterotopia in this respect: it makes this place that I occupy at the moment when I look at myself in the glass at once absolutely real, connected with all the space that surrounds it, and absolutely unreal, since in order to be perceived it has to pass through this virtual point which is over there (Of Other Spaces, 4). Gaiman s worlds do exactly that, the reader can perceive this entire new world as real as the one he lives in but the quirky elements would suggest otherwise because they are in fact within the borders of virtual. However, that which is virtual does not mean it is completely out of reality as Foucault s description of heterotopia suggests. The mirroring element to Gaiman s work shows that they cannot be qualified either as utopias but dystopias, they are mere reflections of mundane reality. In one of his lectures We writers [...] have an obligation to our readers , Gaiman says, it s the obligation to write true things, especially important when we are creating tales of people who do not exist in places that never were to understand that truth is not in what happens but what it tells us about who we are. In the two creation accounts God is portrayed in two different ways. The main difference in the two accounts is that man and woman are created last in the first account, and in the second account, man is created before any life form and the rest seems to be provided for him; even woman. It s the creation of woman that is consistent in both accounts. The avoided use of sexual activity as a part of creation is similar among the two creation accounts. In the first account sexual activity is not directly referred to at all. Instead, alternate words such as multiply and fruitful (Gen 1:28) are used to suggest reproductive sexual activities. In the second account sexual interaction is also avoided in the direct sense, but is indirectly referred to as a God given impulse (Gen 2:24 25). When pathogens are exposed to groundwater, they have the ability to survive longer, and grow faster. This is due to lower temperature, and lack of sunlight. Many factory farmers are developed near communities, so humans are exposed to these contaminants. This can cause serious disease outbreaks within families that live near waste runoff sites, and have the potential of the disease spreading across the community (Hribar). The other way that factory farms can harm humans is the exposure to dust particles. Livestock produce a particle called endotoxin. Endotoxin is the main cause for respiratory diseases in American, so factory farms are the main source to blame. Endotoxin has the ability to cause allergic reactions, asthma, and even some lung cancer has been caused by too much exposure to this deadly particle. The Theme of Isolation in Robert Frost s The Mending Wall Robert Frost s The Mending Wall is a comment on the nature of our society. In this poem, Frost examines the way in which we interact with one another and how we function as a whole. For Frost, the world is often one of isolation. Man has difficulty communicating and relating to one another. As a result, we have a tendency to shut ourselves off from others. In the absence of effective communication, we play the foolish game of avoiding any meaningful contact with others in order to gain privacy. While the narrator seems more willing to reach out to his neighbor, in the end, he does not. He does wonder why fences supposedly make good neighbors. For him, the question is what is he walling in or walling out ? He seems to realize that he is walling out other people. As long as the symbolic wall stands between the neighbors, they will always be separated. Earlier in the poem, Frost uses the symbolism of a rabbit to seemingly reinforce this point. The hunters must destroy the wall in order to have the rabbit out of hiding . The men, in turn must break down the walls between them if they are to come out of hiding . The narrator seems to have a desire to point this out to his neighbor. However, he does not, simply dismissing his idea as the mischief that spring has instilled in him. He realizes that he is unable to communicate with his neighbor in any meaningful fashion and, thus, remains in isolation from him. Frost considers the interaction between the two men to be nothing more than a foolish game. He uses language which makes the process of wall mending seem structured and organized in the manner of a game. The two men walk the line as they keep the wall between us as we go . Frost makes the men seem like opponents in this kind of outdoor game , as they are positioned one on a side . Thus as they work together, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Akhil Subramanian Salc 20200 29 May 2008 361411 Politics and history through an alternative path to self rule Lagaan (2001), through the setting of Hindi cinema and the popular appeal of cricket, charts an alternative history of India, from the colonised past of 1893 to an ideal post colonial future. Using elements of pop culture, the director Ashutosh Gowarikar transforms the singularity of Champaneer s struggle against triple lagaan, into a microcosm of an Indian nation s ideal path toward self rule. Notably, this self rule is ideologically centred ex ante on Gandhi s vision of self sufficient village units, as mentioned in Hind Swaraj . In doing so, Gowarikar is able to (a) tell the historical tale of colonial rule and oppression in India, and (b) through dealing with Champaneer s internal struggles toward becoming a self sufficient village unit, highlight current thorny issues of Indian politics. Gowarikar uses the popularity of cricket in India as a catalyst for a nationalistic struggle. Although the wager is based on the amelioration of economic conditions for Champaneer (namely triple lagaan versus no lagaan), the bet transforms into a struggle for independence and self rule through the medium of cricket. Donald Trump successfully won the 2016 election and will have four more years to successfully carry out his term. From childhood to adulthood Trump has shown a charismatic personality, therefore, there are plenty of insights predicting his actions during his presidency. In Maslow s Hierarchy of Needs there are five stages. In order, the stages are: Physiological, Safety, Love and Belongingness, Esteem, and Self Actualization. Trump flip flops between two of the stages: Love and Belongingness, and Esteem. One of Trump s traits of the Big Five is narcissism, which in the McAdam s (2016) article, it states that people display this trait because they lack early life mirroring. This means that the parents failed to lovingly reflect on their child s budding grandiosity, in return, leaving the child desperately seeking affirmation from others throughout their lives. Love and Belongingness reflects Trump s narcissistic tendencies in this way. Trump shows the Esteem stage with his need to be the best, be successful, and prove that he can be a successful president. As president of the United States, Trump is trying to fulfill his Self Actualization need with Self Transcendence by helping others and fulfill his inner potential as president. This is called cloning. Investigating these copy pasted sections of source codes is called Clone Detection. A country born of laws, rights and citizenship with the idea of a free people to govern over themselves, was the original intent of the American experience. However, America did not inherit traditional bonds of a national identity, so it had to rely on a few cultural foundations that became critical in deciding who belonged in the American experience. The pillars seemed to be a common language of English, a religion based on a broad view of Christianity, and the notion of a traditional family. As more people were included politically, more people were excluded culturally if they did not conform to some version of those three expected characteristics. The abuse of power transcended national boarders as the U.S. government turned a blind eye to American troops engaged in the unleashed and unchecked torture of prisoners of war. The use of torture is not in the national interest, as it has been found that the intelligence gained through torture is unreliable. Like the Japanese after Pearl Harbor, America consistently presses or even oversteps its Constitutional boundaries in times of national security. The cultural foundations deeply ingrained in the American experience provide little relief towards an amicable concept of Rooted Cosmopolitanism. Southern California is an outlier, geographically dethatched with an aura of modernity. Rapidly advancing modernization and an influx of religious diversity emerged in tandem; the effect Christianity molded to secular exigencies shaping a pluralistic state. However, Southern California reflects a religious model independently formed, largely out of reach from the grip of ripened American values and democratic traditions prevailing in the eastern part of the country. The distasteful reality, in which Roof did not address, is what would happen if Southern California bred the emergence of a religious practice similar to that of polygamy in Utah? Society and the Courts have fiercely preserved traditional American values, and would without doubt precipitously intervene. Piaget (1952), one of the eminent proponents of this kind of theories, has proposed intelligence as an adaptive process, which a child experiences at various stages of his/her life. Gardner (1983) has developed a theory of multiple intelligence on the basis of cultural significance and their correspondence to the human brain structure (Table 3). Gallagher, Frith and Snowling (submitted) demonstrated that 4 year old children from families with a first degree relative suffering from dyslexia performed worse on tests of language and speech processing, compared to children from non dyslexic families. This study supports the phonological deficit hypothesis as it suggests that dyslexic children show early deficiencies in speech production. Although the role of heritability is important to consider, due to the real world implications it has of helping to identify at risk children who are more likely to develop dyslexia, it cannot explain why there is only a 50 per cent rate of heritability for dyslexia. There has also been very little research into the heritability of either deficits in visual processing, or cerebellar abnormality. Despite the support for the phonological deficit hypothesis, one of the main criticisms of the theory is that it fails to acknowledge possible deficits in visual processing which may cause dyslexia. The visual magnocellular deficit hypothesis (Stein, 2000) suggests that dyslexia may be caused by deficiencies within visual processing; specifically within the magnocellular system, which is responsible among other things for timing visual events when reading (Stein, 2001). It s the classic story of a man who risks hellfire by dealing with the devil for a brief, yet magnificent, period of otherworldly knowledge and power. This story has been rewritten and reformulated time and time again. I aim to show that the story of Faust is inspired by the story of Adam and Eve. What accounts for this story s persistence? I think it is because readers are gripped by the fantasy of humans possessing divine powers, engaging in adventures and magical exploits, and trafficking with the greatest of evils. Many view the Faust tradition from the perspective of magus literature. Their searches for Faust s beginnings often turn up magicians. This includes recording and reporting processing actions, and applying similar treatments to adequate control images. Image Processing helps in Medical fields to detect severe diseases like cancer. For the security devices, Image Processing plays an important role. So In our day to day life, Digital Signal Processing especially Digital Image processing has its own major contributions to make it easy. 2. Biomedical Signal Processing Our bodies are constantly communicating information about our health. This information can be captured through physiological instruments that measure heart rate, blood pressure, oxygen saturation levels, blood glucose, nerve conduction, brain activity and so forth. Traditionally, such measurements are taken at specific points in time and noted on a patient s chart. Physicians actually see less than one percent of these values as they make their rounds and treatment decisions are made based upon these isolated readings. Biomedical signal processing involves the analysis of these measurements to provide useful information upon which clinicians can make decisions. Engineers are discovering new ways to process these signals using a variety of mathematical formulae and algorithms. Working with traditional biomeasurement tools, the signals can be ... • 48. Introduction . In High Acute Settings, Such As Intensive Introduction In high acute settings, such as intensive care units essential nursing care such as oral care is very vital to prevent life threatening complications such as nosocomial acquired, Ventilator Associated Pneumonia (VAP), and also most patients in intensive care are on oral intubation, and medications such as anticholinergics, antihypertensives, which may lead to xerostomia (dry mouth). One of the challenging nosocomial infections is VAP, and a leading cause of mortality in hospital patients in high acuity settings (Jones, 2007). The development of VAP is occurred due to mechanical ventilation, longer ICU stays and longer intubation periods, increasing the mortality of ICU patients to as high as 70 per cent (Jones, 2007). In turn, even the tapes that are used in the fixation of the tube quickly become heavily contaminated with the bacterium in the existence of salivary secretions and the hitches associated with cleaning the mouth (Abidia, 2007). So, they have greater susceptibility to nosocomial acquired infections such as ventilator Associated Pneumonia (VAP) (Zurmehly, 2013). Patients who are intubated are also forced to keep their mouths open which leads to xerostomia, caused due to dryness of oral mucosa (Miranda, de Paula, de Castro Piau, Costa, Bezerra, 2016). Furthermore, patients who may have some medical conditions have oral manifestations such as diabetes, Crohn s disease, Leukaemia (H. Jones et al., 2004). In order to prevent these life threatening complications, it is important to prioritise oral care as an essential nursing priority in high acuity settings by doing appropriate and more frequent oral assessments followed by mouth care with an evidence based approach. Oral Assessment To initiate interventions, patients oral care requirements are to be identified. To process and evaluate, assessment needs to be performed. Evidence suggested oral assessment should be performed using a checklist within the 24 hours ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The New Orleans Conceived Craftsman It s four years since Frank Ocean s last collection, Channel Orange, and 13 months since he guaranteed the postliminary, Boys Don t Cry, would be discharged. In a time when numerous significant specialists are productive , for example, Drake or universal Rihanna, Beyoncц╘ the New Orleans conceived craftsman has taken as much time as is needed and stayed under the radar. Past a modest bunch of visitor vocal appearances, an a capella track on Kanye West s The Life of Pablo, a two minute representation of tune called Memrise and an appearance in a Calvin Klein advertisement, next to no has been seen or gotten notification from Ocean. The anticipation was broken on 1 August, when baffling footage purportedly recorded in 2015 showed up on the site boysdontcry.co. For about 48 hours, a camera was settled on a highly contrasting CCTV like setup that demonstrated within a void stockroom and a line of apparatus. We saw a substantial heap of speakers, potentially taken from an establishment by the craftsman and companion of Ocean Tom Sachs, that is as of now being appeared at Brooklyn Museum in New York. On occasion, a figure later uncovered to be Ocean would arrive and begin to cut, bore and sand boards of wood. These pictures would circle, and once in a while new camera points were presented.
