Symptoms And Treatments Of Sleep Apnea
Hypothesis:
Individuals experiencing stress are more likely to develop sleep apnea.
My Initial Hypothesis
Through our discussion in class over sleep disorders, we have discussed all different types of
disorders, which lead to an interesting one called sleep apnea. In lecture, I have learned that sleep
apnea can take a toll on the people it affects, and can make a difference in the way one lives. Sleep
disorders make us understand how complex and interesting the brain can be. Sleep disorders can be
caused by a variety of reasons, but one of the leading reasons I believe that causes sleep apnea is
stress.
My Empirical Evidence
Most cases of sleep apnea are linked to stress, but the stress in sleep apnea can also lead to other
medical problems such as an increased risk for cardiovascular consequences. It has been tested and
proven that smoking and diabetes were also a large factor in the disorder of sleep apnea (Simiakakis
M et al., 2012). Some studies have shown differences between cardiovascular disease and stress
(Greenlund et al. 1995; Riese et al. 2000; Heslop et al. 2002a,b; Belkic et al. 2004). It is a terrifying
fear to think that so many medical diseases can lead to the cause of a sleep disorder. It s like most of
the time with people one part of their body messes up, and it leads to something else. It s an eye
opener to realize that this sleep disorder can be caused by many health related problems, and not just
stress.
Others say that sleep apnea is related

Cypop04 Promote Young Childrens Physical an Movement...
Explain why physical activity is important to the short and long term health and well being of
children.
Physical activity supports a child s overall health and well being. It helps with bodily development
(i.e. muscle build up and heart and lung function). It helps tackle childhood obesity, promotes a
positive attitude to sport, playing outside and other physical activities in later life.
Observe three different physical play activities in your setting. Using the observation reports identify
the physical skills children are developing. You need to consider the movement skills travel, object
control and balance and coordination.

Tragic Figure In Antigone
In Sophocles Antigone, Kreon and Antigone encountered opposing obligations torn between their duty
to their people and Thebes and their duty to their family and gods. While Kreon ultimately chose his
people and Thebes, Antigone chose her family and gods. This conflict of obligation between the two
caused the strife between the two and resulted in the demise of both characters. They could both
represent tragic figures, but Kreon is the most tragic figure in the play. His adherence to his duty as
king to his people and Thebes over his duty to his family resulted in the death of his family, thus he
must live the rest of his life acknowledging the fact that the loss of his loved ones was caused by his
pride and stubbornness. This outcome is far ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Despite her focus on her obligation to family leading to her downfall, she is not the most tragic figure
in the play. In Sophocles Antigone, Antigone chose her brother over her community s unjust laws
imposed by Kreon. Her reason for such a defiance is best summed up by her response to Ismene when
she reveals her plan to break the law. You be as you think best, but I shall bury him. I ll lie there, dear
to him, with my dear friend, when I ve performed this crime of piety; for I must please those down
below a longer time than those up here, since I shall lie there always (71 76). It is clear from this
conversation between the two that Antigone feels an obligation to her family and brother to give him
the proper burial. She makes it clear that her brother was very dear to her and she loved him deeply.
Her deep love for him made her capable of defying her community s laws and face death. She would
rather lie in death next to her brother than never see her brother given the proper customary burial that
all in the community receive. This deep love is also shown to her sister as she is willing to deny that
her sister knew anything about her plan in order to ensure her sister does not get harmed.

Bourgeoisie And Proletariat In The Communist Manifesto By...
Class Co dependence of Bourgeoisie and Proletariat in Marx
According to Karl Marx, history is defined by class struggle. This epoch is one of an increasingly
polarized duality of Bourgeoisie and Proletariat; simply defined as an antagonism between the owners
of capital and means of production, and the wage labors with no capital to speak of; A byproduct of
Capitalism. Introduced in The Communist Manifesto as a war of sorts, violent and hostile, his
description continues both in the Manifesto and in Capital, to delve deeper beneath the surface layer
and evolves into a more complete evaluation of their complex codependent relationship. As opposed
to two oppositional parts of a whole society, they are irrevocably linked and intertwined, by very ...

Marx depicts two camps at war, but shortly thereafter at a multifaceted association between them.
They are not two sides of a civil war, but rather more intimately linked. The Bourgeoisie are described
as leaders of an Industrial army (of Proletariat), indicating in some sense, the two being parts of a
singular mechanism, one driving toward progress. The Proletariat masses of labourers, crowded into
the factory, are organised like soldiers. As privates of the industrial army they are placed under the
command of a perfect hierarchy of officers and sergeants. Not only are they slaves of the bourgeois
class, and of the bourgeois State; they are daily and hourly enslaved by the machine, by the over
looker, and, above all, by the individual bourgeois manufacturer himself. 479 There is definitely
exploitation and oppression of the Proletariat by the Bourgeoisie, but they are both part of a working
system, that of Capitalism. By definition the one class depends on the other for its very existence. One
cannot define a group as the owners of the means of production, without having a separate group that
therefor is not; there can be no class distinguished

The Financial Crisis Of 2008 Hit The American Economy
The financial crisis of 2008 hit the American economy and the world economy as well. It cost tens of
millions of people their savings, jobs, and their homes. For decades the American financial system
was stable and safe, but it changed. The financial industry turned its back on society; it corrupted the
political system, and plunged the world economy into crisis. It was not an accident; it was caused by
an out of control industry, a greedy industry. The crisis has made more damage to society while the
industry has made more money. The residential mortgage crisis affected commercial real estate by
making credit much more difficult to get. Real estate investment has been driven by leverage. One of
the great things about real estate investment is that you do not need just cash to do it. The possible
investors are either reluctant to acquire and develop real estate without the need of debt. As a result,
the demand for real estate slowed and prices fell down. To understand better how everything started,
let s mention the great depression. After the Great Depression, the United States had forty years of
economic growth without a single financial crisis. The financial system was regulated, and most of the
banks were local. They were prohibited from speculating depositor s savings. Investments banks were
small private partnerships in charge of handling stock and trading. The private partnerships partners
put their own money up as their investments; therefore they didn t risk as

Inorganic Ions Include Those of Sodium, Phosphorus and...
Inorganic ions include those of sodium, phosphorus and hydrogen. Describe how these and other
inorganic ions are used in living organisms.
Inorganic ions in animals and plants are necessary for vital cellular activity. In body tissue they can
also be called electrolytes, which are essential for electrical activity needed to support muscle
contractions and neuron activation. Ions also effect how pH changes in the blood and other bodily
functions. Ions are also incorporated into the structure of biological molecules.
Resting potentials require ions as they play a vital role in the process. In the surface membrane of a
cell there are protein carriers. These actively pump Na+ ions out of the cytoplasm to the outside of the
cell. At the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This stage is called repolarisation. The K+ channels then close, the sodium potassium pump restarts,
restoring the normal distribution of ions either side of the cell surface membrane and thus restoring the
resting potential. In response to this the Na+ channels in that area would open up, allowing Na+ ions
to flood into the cell and thus reducing the resting potential of the cells. If the resting potential of the
cell drops to the threshold level, then an action potential has been generated and an impulse will be
fired.
In photosynthesis H+ ions are vital in the production of the energy source that is ATP, which is used in
several metabolic processes, such as respiration. The photolysis of water produces H+ ions, electrons
and O2. The excited electrons lose energy as they move along the electron transport chain, this energy
is used to transport the H+ ions (protons) in to the thylakoid, which causes a higher concentration of
H+ than there is in the stroma, thus causing a proton gradient across the membrane. The H+ then
proceed to move down the concentration gradient into the stroma via the enzyme ATP synthase. The
energy from this process is called chemiosmosis and combines ADP with inorganic phosphate (Pi) to
form ATP. Light energy is then absorbed by photosystem I (PS I) which excites the electrons to a
higher energy level. These electrons are transferred to NADP with H+ ions from the stroma to form
reduced NADP. The whole of this process is

London Dockland Case Study
For places both rural and urban to maintain development and a strong economy they must rebrand. To
keep with the times so to speak place must continue to redevelop in a number of ways. Both areas are
at risk of becoming derelict and poverty struck if they don t regenerate.
One of the main causes of decline is a lack of employment. In many areas with one ruling industry
when the industry collapses the town is left with high levels of unemployment. As countries continue
to develop their primary and secondary sectors shrink as it becomes cheaper for TNC s to outsource
work to other cheaper countries. This among other reasons can leave towns and cities in decline as
there are no longer jobs available and people have to move away for work or stay unemployed which
has bad economic effects.
An example of this happening in an urban area is the London Docklands. In the 19th century it was
the busiest port in the world however by the 1960 s bigger boats were being used and the docks weren
t deep enough for this. The docks were closed leaving lots of derelict land, few jobs and lots of social
problems. However the docklands were successfully rebranded with the introduction of the LDDC. In
1981, the London Docklands Development Corporation set about regenerating London Docklands ...

Essay on Importance of Nothing in Shakespeare s King Lear
Importance of Nothing in William Shakespeare s King Lear
The Tragedy of King Lear has many important themes. One major theme concerns nothing. The main
focus around the discussion of nothing is that nothing is a many things. Nothing is what binds
everything.
The first mention of nothing is when King Lear asks his daughters to profess how much they love him.
The eldest daughters shower compliments upon him tickling his ears. Yet the Lear s favorite daughter
Cordelia will only speak the truth. When asked what she can say to gain her a portion of land better
than her sisters, she replies, Nothing, my Lord (1.1. ) He exclaims, Nothing! (1.1. ) and she responds,
Nothing (1.1. ). Lear s answers, Nothing will come of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Then he asks Lear, Can you make no use of nothing, nuncle (1.4. )? This question should prod Lear to
think of his earlier mistake of making a big ordeal out of Cordelia s nothing. Ironically he responds,
nothing can be made out of nothing (1.4. ), echoing what he said to Cordelia in 1.1. The Fool then tells
Kent to tell him so much the rent of his land comes to (1.4. ). The answer to this, of course, would be
nothing. The King has given all his land to Goneril and Regan.
After Goneril walks into the room, he tells Lear thou art an O without a figure (1.4. ). An O without a
figure would be a zero. Thus the Fool tells Lear that he is nothing. He continues by saying
straightforwardly, I am a Fool, thou art nothing
(1.4. ). Remarks like this provide ample opportunity for Goneril to rebuke Lear for having an all licens
d Fool (1.4. ). In addition, the Fool calls Lear a sheal d peascod (1.4. ). This is another way of saying
he is empty. He is nothing.
These remarks provide a theme continuing throughout the story. The main theme is that nothing is
what binds everything together. If Cordelia had not responded nothing then the King would be happy.
He would have moved in with Cordelia and she would have supported him. Moreover, Cordelia would
have kept her portion and would have married the Duke Burgundy. Thus, her nothing changed
everything.
In addition, this nothing gives the play comic relief. The Fool

How Long Is The Hooked Mass Of A Cart
The hypothesis is that the hooked mass used on the pulley to keep the cart stationary on the ramp is
equal to the mass of the cart. The hypothesis is invalid, it is not supported by the data. Mass is a the
amount of matter in an object so it always remain the same. As shown on the table, the hooked masses
vary depending on the degree of the incline so it cannot be the mass of the cart. In addition, the correct
calculation of the mass of the cart proves that the hypothesis is wrong. For the 15 degree incline, the
mass of the cart is 19.3kg while the hooked mass is .050kg. This clearly shows that the hooked mass
used on the pulley to to keep the cart stationary is not equal to the mass of the cart. For the 20 degree
incline, the mass of the

Decisions Made In The Book 13 Reasons By Jay Asher
Every Choice a person makes has a consequence. The consequence is either positive or negative it all
depends on the reasoning on why one chooses to do what one does. The theme is that every choice
you make can backfire or it can be good it all depends on what are the reasons and what is going
through the person s mind. Many aspects affect the making of a decision it all depends whether the
person making the decision is sad, happy, upset, tired, angry, or disappointed. Making a decision is
influenced by emotions as stated above if you make a decision while you are angry your decision
might be irrational and it might have a horrible consequence. When someone makes a decision it
usually has some type of benefit for themselves but there are many decisions people make out of spite.
Decision made to harm a person are the least desirable decisions to make.
In the book 13 Reasons Why by Jay Asher, many choices are made and many consequences are not
good or beneficial for any of the characters specifically Hannah Baker. Hannah Baker s death was the
consequence of many people decision. Hannah was a healthy teenager even though she was bullied

Goodbye, Columbus And Five Other Short Stories By Philip Roth
On the cusps of the changing writing styles of American authors, Philip Roth is viewed as the leader in
Jewish writings. Roth s very realistic writing portrays the Jews as he views them in both their
strengths and weaknesses. The distinct background and surroundings in which Roth grew up laid the
framework for which the reader can view in his writings. Roth s Jewish household shows where the
Judaism in his writings originates from but the realist approach to his writings demonstrate the present
day writing style. Defender of the Faith appears in Goodbye, Columbus and Five Other Short Stories,

Although more themes may be able to be studied deeper in Roth s works, the expression of Judaism
through his characters is the most prominent theme demonstrated in his stories: For so much of the
commentary on his fiction has continued to be preoccupied with determining the nature and extent of
his relationship to Jewish American religious and literary traditions... (Rogers). His writing about the
Jewish faith is clear and the main theme that he wishes to express in all his writings, but it is apparent
he has placed his faith in Realism, not Judaism (Rogers). In Defender of the Faith, Sergeant Marx
expresses Roth s views of the religion through his unbiased and clear cut views. Although they are not
religious men, they stand up when the time comes to protect their religion and beliefs of their morals:
...and a real defender of faith in moral and social values, who [Marx], like Philip Roth, proclaims his

Research Paper On Honey Bees
The bees that create honey were not natural inhabitants of North America. Europeans brought honey
bees because of their ability to produce honey. They re actually the only insect that can produce food
that humans can use for survival. It contains vitamins, minerals and enzymes that we can use to
survive without needing any other foods. It even has water in it. The common colony of bees has
between twenty thousand and sixty thousand worker bees. In all of those bees, there s only 1 queen.
The colony s workers are all female too. They live about 6 weeks and perform all the work of the hive.
While it seems like the females are all the hive has, that s not true. There are male worker bees called
drones. The drones don t do any work at all though.

UMPCs have a screen size of less than 7 and weigh less than two pounds. UMPCs tend to run on fully
fledged operating systems such as Windows XP although can be known to run off Windows CE or
other specialized operating systems. Devices like these are popular as they allow the user to run
software typically found on a traditional computer unlike that on a tablet or smartphone.
Design Principles of Mobile Web Applications
CSS
For maximum compatibility mobile websites should be laid out using Cascading Style Sheets (CSS)
and not tables.
Resolution
Mobile devices come in a range of different sizes and aspect ratios. Developing your website with this
in mind can help to ensure that users do not have to scroll left and right to view the whole of your
webpage.
Design with fingers in mind
By creating click targets a minimum of 30 40px in size and making use of whitespace in between
these can help to make navigating around your website a whole lot easier for your users.
Download Time
Keep download times to a minimum for example by using lower resolution images and storing them
in a single CSS file. This is necessary for users connecting to the web on traditional mobile data
connections such as 3G.
Plug Ins
Most mobile browsers do not support plugins or extensions especially those such as flash, apart from
compatibility these can also be a massive drain on the devices battery.

The Moral Development Theory Of Lawrence Kohlberg
Introduction Moral development focuses on the emergence, change, and understanding of morality
from infancy through adulthood. In the field of moral development, morality is defined as principles
for how individuals ought to treat one another, with respect to justice, others welfare, and rights.
(Citation) Essential to the success of every society is moral development. Lawrence Kohlberg
cultivated and advanced the framework of Piaget s life s work in the area of moral development. He
theorized that we formulate ways of thinking through our experiences. Such experiences included but
weren t limited to an understanding of the moral concepts of human welfare, rights, equality and
justice. Through his research Kohlberg ascertained that we go through various stages of moral
maturity and cognitive development. This paper explores the moral development theory of Lawrence
Kohlberg. With an overview of the three levels of Kolhberg s moral development as well as insight
into the various stages within each level, this paper familiarizes its readers with Kohlberg and his life s
work. Lawrence Kohlberg Lawrence Kohlberg was born in 1927 in Bronxville, New York. At the age
of twenty one Lawrence enrolled at the University of Chicago where he obtained his bachelors degree
in a year. Kohlberg asserted that children are moral philosophers whose ability to formulate their own
moral decisions develops with experiences. (Beauchamp, 2014) Anne Beachamp goes on to state,

Effects on an Italian Clothing Company (Importer)
Expansionary polices, such as those incorporated into an economy during a recession, have positive
effects for imports. Increasing the money supply will increase an American consumer s option to
purchase more foreign goods, such as Italian clothing (Colander, 2010).
Contractionary policies, such as those that may occur in an economy operating at its productive
capacity will have a negative effect on the purchase or Italian clothing. Levels of trade with foreign
countries will decrease from the peak productive period.
Initiatives to pay down the United States debt could have a negative effect on the economy, thus
reducing the demand for Italian clothing. However, if efforts to lower the debt are successful there will
be less tax burden on consumers leading to more opportunities for foreign trade.
Effects on GDP The United States Deficit affects the GDP when the deficit causes companies to move
their business oversees. The surplus could be used to help support the United States companies that
operate within the United States. The United States debt and deficit affects individuals and the future

The Great Proletarian Cultural Revolution in China
The Great Proletarian Cultural Revolution or the Cultural Revolution had been a failed attempt at
making China a stronger country. This revolution had destroyed China s rich history. The period from
1966 to 1969 had been terrifying years in which the Red Guards used violence to purge China of any
anti communist sources. Mao Zedong had led the violence and turmoil in China after his failed
attempt at the Great Leap Forward. He relied on China s youth to change the traditional customs and
ideas. The students carried the Cultural Revolution forward and were encouraged to attack authority.

academic, educational, journalistic, art, literary, and other cultural circles...It is of the utmost
importance, involving the fate and future of our Party and our country. (pg. 174, Karnow)
This statement from this critical leader shows the meaning behind their actions. Mao Zedong wanted
to promote his own ideals about communism in China. In order to do so, Mao destroyed China s
cultural elements that were created over the course of thousands of years. All of the culture
accumulated over this vast amount of time was demolished for the sake of promoting the proletarian
ideals. The horrendous actions of smashing bourgeois thoughts show the goal of the Cultural
Revolution. According to Mao Zedong, promoting communism was going to push China towards
becoming a stronger country. But as shown in the lost history, accumulated throughout each era, the
Cultural Revolution was leading to a place far worse than before. Furthermore, the police would be

Summary Of Lev Vygotsky
Russian psychologist, Lev Vygotsky, dedicated his studies to cognitive development. His theory, the
Social Constructivist, or Social Development Theory, stresses the importance of social influences,
especially through instruction, on children s cognitive development. This theory suggests that social
interaction and community play a large role in making meaning. Vygotsky displays his theory using
his Zone of Proximal Development, or ZPD. The Zone Proximal Development is a term used to
describe the range of tasks that are too difficult for a child to master alone, but can be learned with
guidance or assistance from adults or more skilled children. The lower limit of the Zone of Proximal
Development is the level reached by children when working by themselves, without assistance from
others. Contrary, the upper limit is the level in which tasks become too difficult for a child to work
independently, and additional help from a more skillful adult or peer is needed. The purpose of the
ZPD is to recognize where students lie in terms of ability of certain cognitive tasks and skills. It allows
monitoring of student progress using scaffolding. Scaffolding is a term that is used to describe the
level of support or guidance that is being offered to a student when learning a task. Scaffolding is a
large factor of Vygotsky s theory; when a child is learning a new task, the level of guidance from a
more skilled person is high, often through direct instruction. The child begins to

lands and were subjects of the Emperor Don Carlos and they, too, should become servants of the
same. Incredulous, the Indians replied that they already had their own chief and, since the Spaniards
had only just arrived they knew nothing of them so would not bow down to this new chief. They also
informed Grijalva and his men, that they had 24 thousand warriors from neighboring provinces
standing at the ready should Grijalva decided to attack. The next day, peace was negotiated and gifts
were exchanged. Grijalva s party gifted beads of Jadeite that were precious to the Indians. In return,
they received gifts of gold and jewels. These gifts were not of great value because the gold was of
poor quality, but the Indians did inform Grijalva that further on, in the direction of the sunset, there
was plenty of gold, and they said ‘Colua, Colua, Méjico, Méjico . (Díaz pg. 22 3) After trading more
of the green beads for gold, Grijalva s party returned at once to the anchored ships; preparing to set
sail immediately due to a northerly gale. (Díaz) Keeping on course, the ships encountered a strange
episode when they arrived at the mouth of a great river. A great number of Indians lined the shores and
each carried a lance with a colorful banner attached. They waved and beckoned to the passing ships as

Examine Why Multinational Corporations Seek to Transfer...
The HRM policy of a firm is looked as a most important strength which needs to be taken care of all
the time to have a competitive advantage within the industry they operating in. Multinational
corporations (MNCs) seek to transfer their home country human resource management (HRM)
practices to their overseas subsidiary as to them it is just another approach towards globalisation. It
can be an element of success for MNCs if they manage to transfer these HRM practices across their
subsidiaries in an effective manner. An effective transition of these policies depends on the
organisational, cultural, social and relational factors (Bartlett amp; Ghoshal 1998; Evans, Pucik amp;
Barsoux 2002; Poedenphant 2002). The transition of these policies ... Show more content on

The whole procedure of international strategy is from adopting the policies implemented from the
parent company to the enhancement of the competencies developed at the subsidiary, which will
complement the organization on the whole.
International experience is also one of the factors that push a MNC to implement the home country
HRM policies across their subsidiaries. It depends on how long a MNC has been active in their
international operations that impact the nature of their decision while implementing HR policies
across their subsidiaries. Having a lack of international experience, a MNC will make their
subsidiaries adopt their home country policies (The effect of corporate level organisational factors on
the transfer of human resource management practices: European and US MNCs and their Greek
subsidiaries, Barbara Myloni,July 2006). A MNC with more international experience is less likely to
adapt their home country policies as the more a firm gains international experience, the less dominant
their home country HR policies become.
Looking from the dependency theory s point of view, the need for control also pushes a MNC to
implement their home based policies. The stronger the need is, the more the necessity of integrating
these policies will grow, and hence there is a probability that the HR practice will resemble the home
country practices. The more dependent a subsidiary is to their parent, the more the firm will try

Women Are The Ones Who Handle Household Chores
Always women are the ones who handle the household chores
Household chores like doing the laundry, cleaning the utensils, taking care of children and making
food is always done by women. If both, husband and wife are working, it is always the woman doing
the domestic work. But this is not always true. This is in fact a gender stereotype which has existed
since many years. Maybe not all men or fathers do household chores, but many do. According to
Catherine Rampell, a writer for The New York Times newspaper, on an average day, 66.6% men and
85% women report doing some sort of household activity.
Almost everybody believe in this stereotype. Even if a man is sharing household work with his spouse
or any other female in the house, his image is presented as if he does nothing. Even if he is
contributing little, he is at least doing something, and something is definitely better than nothing. No
man s conscious would allow him to see his wife or any female in the house do all the work in the
house alone. Even if a man is going out for groceries, it is not considered a household work by the
female, just because he did not contribute to do the work in the house. Women tend to see the results
instead of the work done to get those particular results. If men are doing the dishes, it is considered
nothing because they are just rinsing them and putting them in the dish washer, which is an easy job.
But it takes time to do it. Men are using up their time, in which they relax, to do the

Focus of Research of Viral Infections Involves...
Introduction An emerging area of research focus on the investigation of viral infections involved in
neurodegenerative diseases. Data suggests that viral infections promote hallmark events seen in
neuronal degeneration such as in Alzheimer s Disease (AD). In AD, protein aggregates of β amyloid
peptides forming plaques and neurofibrillary tangles composed of hyperphosphorylated tau has been
shown to impair brain functions. Areas affected are the hippocampus and cerebral cortex responsible
for cognitive and locomotor skills. Other contributing factors to neuronal degeneration includes
oxidative stress, and modifications to autophagic and apoptotic pathways. This paper looks at herpes
simplex type 1 involvement in AD.
History
The origin of Herpes Virus is unknown but its lesions and transmission were recognized by
Hippocrates and Shakespeare during earlier times (Kaplan 1973). In 1919, the experimental works of
Lowenstein confirmed the infectious nature of HSV (Holden 1932). Twentieth century Herpes simplex
virus (HSV) research lead to the discovery that aside from skin infections, HSV also infects the central
nervous system (CNS) (Kaplan 1973).

Technolgy and American Societies Today
Technology has taken an overwhelming presence within American societies today. Careers, education,
volunteering, advertising and now even fundraising can be done solely from one s computer. With this
relatively new trend, companies must take advantage of the time clients spend online to further their
own organizations. There are three simple techniques that companies should utilize and implement to
profit from the new technological era.
The process of affiliate marketing is extremely important for publicity and fundraising. This is when
an organization directs traffic from its own website to a different organization s website in order to
promote a product, good or service of that organization s with the promise of receiving a percentage of
the proceeds in return. Companies can profit significantly from this process if used correctly and
partnered with the right organizations. Many popular companies participate in affiliate marketing,
such as Amazon, local grocery stores, sporting goods stores, etc. It does not cost anything to establish
an affiliate marketing relationship with a company, but can have exponential rewards.
The concept of online donating and memberships is an excellent way companies can benefit from the
Web. Asking face to face for money can make both the asker and the potential giver uncomfortable,
and with the wrong atmosphere laid, it can cost an organization a substantial donation. The
opportunity to donate online provides clients with a private,

Gun Control Argumentative Essay
Gun control has been a topic of conversation for a long time. With that comes the issue of gun
violence that has taken over America, from concerts and movie theaters to schools and churches, mass
shooting have taken many lives. Data has shown that 19 children are hospitalized every day from a
gun related injury and 1,300 children are killed each year from gun injuries. And there are many
people who are opposite sides of the firearm issue. Some people believe that it is their constitutional
right to be able to own as many guns as they want while the opposite side of the spectrum believes
that the second amendment should be erased from the constitution and make guns illegal. However,
many people on both sides agree that kids need to be taught gun safety. ... Show more content on

by his father. But Lucas found it and shot himself through the right eye. (Lou, McIntire) This comes
from an article in The New York Times titled Children and Guns: The Hidden Toll. This example is
followed by many more gut wrenching child gun deaths. Yet, the case of Lucas Heagren is a bit more
in depth, an image of him and his father on Christmas with Lucas holding his present, a .22 rifle. This
image was evidence for Mr. Heagran s negligent homicide trial after Lucas shot himself. The
anecdotes bring empathy so that the reader may side with the view of the article. The New York Times

Theme Of Paganism In Beowulf
The longest epic poem ever written in the genre of Old English is Beowulf , it has been composed in
the native language as spoken during the Anglo Saxon reign in England, preceding the Norman
Conquest. Beowulf is regarded as a classic tale which relates the defeat of evil and triumph of good.
The poem is divided into three acts.
Christian and Pagan Influences in Beowulf: The Pagan deities, rituals as well as pagan ideas
influenced Beowulf, when it was being created, though the passing down of the epic narrative in
verbal form, the Christianity age would provide a residual effect to the story. The ideas mixed is not
signifying a struggle to attain religious power in the entire story, but the poem is blended with heroic

The poem consists of enough glimpses of the occasions of feasting, gift giving, and knot that ties the
Lord with the thanes in one mutual bondage. He even speaks of the hero vaunting before setting out
for the battlefield, and the scop singing praises of the past great victories which were the commonality
in the pagan Germanic society. Moreover, Beowulf reacts to the Hrothgar s grief when his most
beloved follower Aeschere dies, which provokes Beowulf to adhere to traditional to avenge the death,
is a perfect distinctive exposure to the pagan temper. Grendel s mother also lets out the same cry,
taking an oath to revenge the death of her Grendel s death is also another kind of wild justice. The
fierce combating scenes are all heathens, a trait of Paganism. The poetry seems a thorough non
Christian composition composed in the pre Christian time. For other subsequent Anglo Saxon heroic
poetry, Beowulf is an outstanding fountain head inspiration, including The Battle of Maldon.
Nevertheless, Beowulf rather strangely bears many religious and Christian traits. The Teutonic culture
had individual religious practices and ideals in the society. It is also an authentic record that has
recorded the Teutonic social life with the descriptions of the Teutonic ceremonies and customs. Such
customs and ceremonies are connected with the heathen practices and rites. The hero Beowulf, in the

Fairy Hood Song
Fairy Tales change. They are constantly molding to fit modern standards and expectations. The story
of Little Red Riding Hood follows this pattern. Over the years innumerable variations have been
created. Used by many, the story of Little Red Riding Hood has debuted in print, games, tv, painting,
and song. Some adaptations fit into the category of a fairy tale while others branch out into other
genres. The song Lil Red Riding Hood by Sam the Sham the Pharaohs exemplifies the use of the story
of Little Red Riding Hood. Although the song and story possess distinct differences, Lil Red Riding
Hood is a fairy tale because it contains magic, uses key characters, and develops the plot. It is also a
metaphor describing a timeless situation.
Sam the Sham the Pharaohs sing a piece which uses the metaphor of Little Red Riding hood and the
wolf to portray a couple s romantic situation. Some may state that a song cannot also be considered a
fairy tale, but that is an incorrect assumption. A fairy tale is a fictional story which includes magical
characters or situations. Fairy tales have some parts that have changed over the years and some that
have stayed the same. The stories evolve over time to fit their audience. Modern writers are not the
first to edit and reformat old tales. Lydialyle Gibson, author of How Fairy Tales Lost Their Magic ,

Introduction
About the United Nations
The United Nations is an international organization, which was founded in 1945 after the Second
World War, committed to providing the means to help resolve international conflicts and formulate
policies on matters affecting human beings all over the world (Wikipedia). The organization is
committed to maintaining international peace and security, developing friendly relations among
nations and promoting social progress, better living standards and human rights (Wikipedia). Ensuring
environmental sustainability , climate change being one of the major factors, is one of the millennium
development goals of the UN. The United Nations Environment Programme, UNEP, along with many
organizations/agencies under the UN, collaboratively work towards achieving this goal.
About the Chosen Aspect of Study
How does the United Nations support the millennium development goal of promoting environmental
sustainability by limiting climate change in South and North America? This investigation shall focus
on the previously mentioned question as this a very interesting topic to further research on, also as I

Perception refers to the interpretation of sensory information to form meaningful information (3).
Perception is not possible with attentional processes. Attention to the information provided to the
sensory receptors is required to to have perception (68). Attention and perception interact more with
each other than as processes that are rigidly different. Driving is an example of something that
requires both perception and attention. You need to perceive and recognize important objects such as

Beer Industry Marketing Analysis
CUTIVE SUMMARY This paper discusses the potential profitability of the beer industry.

The market that is dominating the brewing industry is the micro brewers. This group has found a niche

Attractiveness
The attractiveness of the beer industry is steadily growing. However, it is not growing in to area of

The Valley California Territory Is Once Inhabited By The...
The Owen Valley California territory was once inhabited by the Paiutes people (an indigenous Native
American group). When the Unites States acquired the California territory, expeditions were led
across the state, and it was discovered by the white man that Owen Valley was a land of value.
Government action (e.g. the Preemption and Homestead acts; government subsidies) encouraged
western migration and expansion leading to the claim of most of the Owens Valley land. Similar to the
guise of gentrification, the white man wanted to take primary control of the area for the sake of a need
for development . The powerful Americans undermined the use values of the Paiute people, and
threatened their quality of life and well being. The Paiutes resisted unsuccessfully (they were no match
for the powerful United States army assisting the white settlers), and through the familiar tactics of
deception, coercion, force, and violence, the Paiute people were forced from their land, and the ones
who remained were stratified, and forced to endure subpar living conditions and work standards. The
tides shifted years later when a new, more powerful group found interest in the natural resources of the
Owen Valley territory. At the time, Los Angeles, California was a growing metropolis, and of major
capitalistic interest to California (with significant ties to the political leaders of the United States as
high up as the president). With the population of Los Angeles out growing its water supply,

Impressionism And Post-Impressionism
People judge a book by its cover. It is the ultimate truth, contrary to the popular adage. Being
judgmental of someone or something by the physical features is a natural human instinct. Accordingly,
in today s world, book publishers hire illustrators to make aesthetically pleasing book covers to
accompany their writing. They are designed to grasp attention when the books are displayed among
other books. This is why I decided to research about why a particular book cover was chosen and how
it was related to the story. Katherine Mansfield lived through art periods known as Impressionism and
Post Impressionism. Impressionism is a style or movement in painting originating in France in the

It is not surprising that Katherine Mansfield was an admirer of Post Impressionistic paintings. She
frequently visited the Post Impressionist exhibitions in London. As a big fan of Van Gogh s Sun

a kind of freedom or rather, a shaking free in her letter to Richard Murry. Perhaps this freedom abetted
her to implement different writing techniques which were not widely used. In At the Bay, Linda views

about life. Likewise, the Bank Holiday depicts carnival life as a Post Impressionistic painting. The

eliciting help from preoccupied parents. Preoedipal and oedipal issues appear to be at the root of many
of these problems (Sours, 1980; Schulman, 2002). Sours (1980), one of the first theorists to study the
role that oedipal and preoedipal issues played in eating disorders, noted that his anorexic patients
demonstrated separation anxieties as well as fear of control. Additional research offers confirmatory
evidence that oedipal and preoedipal issues are salient for women with bulimia (Sperling, 1978;

argued that the oedipal and preoedipal issues present in BN represent a daughter s attempt to take in a
maternal object and spit her out. Schulman hypothesized that this was a way for the young woman to
remain connected to the mother while also achieving some degree of separation (p. 129). During my
work with two women with Bulimia Nervosa Purging type, I observed a relationship between
identification with maternal objects and bulimic

With Friends Like These Dorothy Rowe Summary
Dorothy Rowe explores the nature of how friendships reflect our own natures in her essay With
Friends Like These... Despite powerful concepts such as validation, and jealousy, whirlpool is the
prime piece of diction. The imagery of a deadly whirlpool illustrates the central notion of how
friendships can either relate peacefully to our own sense of selves or shatter our ideas of who we
believe to be our friends. Rowe states, Early in our life our own stream of conscious and unconscious
constructions create, like a real stream, a kind of whirlpool that quickly becomes our most precious
possession, that is, our sense of being a person... Rowe takes a pessimistic approach to the
examination of friendship by utilizing such a strong metaphor

  • 2. Symptoms And Treatments Of Sleep Apnea Hypothesis: Individuals experiencing stress are more likely to develop sleep apnea. My Initial Hypothesis Through our discussion in class over sleep disorders, we have discussed all different types of disorders, which lead to an interesting one called sleep apnea. In lecture, I have learned that sleep apnea can take a toll on the people it affects, and can make a difference in the way one lives. Sleep disorders make us understand how complex and interesting the brain can be. Sleep disorders can be caused by a variety of reasons, but one of the leading reasons I believe that causes sleep apnea is stress. My Empirical Evidence Most cases of sleep apnea are linked to stress, but the stress in sleep apnea can also lead to other medical problems such as an increased risk for cardiovascular consequences. It has been tested and proven that smoking and diabetes were also a large factor in the disorder of sleep apnea (Simiakakis M et al., 2012). Some studies have shown differences between cardiovascular disease and stress (Greenlund et al. 1995; Riese et al. 2000; Heslop et al. 2002a,b; Belkic et al. 2004). It is a terrifying fear to think that so many medical diseases can lead to the cause of a sleep disorder. It s like most of the time with people one part of their body messes up, and it leads to something else. It s an eye opener to realize that this sleep disorder can be caused by many health related problems, and not just stress. Others say that sleep apnea is related ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 4. Tragic Figure In Antigone In Sophocles Antigone, Kreon and Antigone encountered opposing obligations torn between their duty to their people and Thebes and their duty to their family and gods. While Kreon ultimately chose his people and Thebes, Antigone chose her family and gods. This conflict of obligation between the two caused the strife between the two and resulted in the demise of both characters. They could both represent tragic figures, but Kreon is the most tragic figure in the play. His adherence to his duty as king to his people and Thebes over his duty to his family resulted in the death of his family, thus he must live the rest of his life acknowledging the fact that the loss of his loved ones was caused by his pride and stubbornness. This outcome is far ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Despite her focus on her obligation to family leading to her downfall, she is not the most tragic figure in the play. In Sophocles Antigone, Antigone chose her brother over her community s unjust laws imposed by Kreon. Her reason for such a defiance is best summed up by her response to Ismene when she reveals her plan to break the law. You be as you think best, but I shall bury him. I ll lie there, dear to him, with my dear friend, when I ve performed this crime of piety; for I must please those down below a longer time than those up here, since I shall lie there always (71 76). It is clear from this conversation between the two that Antigone feels an obligation to her family and brother to give him the proper burial. She makes it clear that her brother was very dear to her and she loved him deeply. Her deep love for him made her capable of defying her community s laws and face death. She would rather lie in death next to her brother than never see her brother given the proper customary burial that all in the community receive. This deep love is also shown to her sister as she is willing to deny that her sister knew anything about her plan in order to ensure her sister does not get harmed. ... • 5. Bourgeoisie And Proletariat In The Communist Manifesto By... Class Co dependence of Bourgeoisie and Proletariat in Marx According to Karl Marx, history is defined by class struggle. This epoch is one of an increasingly polarized duality of Bourgeoisie and Proletariat; simply defined as an antagonism between the owners of capital and means of production, and the wage labors with no capital to speak of; A byproduct of Capitalism. Introduced in The Communist Manifesto as a war of sorts, violent and hostile, his description continues both in the Manifesto and in Capital, to delve deeper beneath the surface layer and evolves into a more complete evaluation of their complex codependent relationship. As opposed to two oppositional parts of a whole society, they are irrevocably linked and intertwined, by very ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Marx depicts two camps at war, but shortly thereafter at a multifaceted association between them. They are not two sides of a civil war, but rather more intimately linked. The Bourgeoisie are described as leaders of an Industrial army (of Proletariat), indicating in some sense, the two being parts of a singular mechanism, one driving toward progress. The Proletariat masses of labourers, crowded into the factory, are organised like soldiers. As privates of the industrial army they are placed under the command of a perfect hierarchy of officers and sergeants. Not only are they slaves of the bourgeois class, and of the bourgeois State; they are daily and hourly enslaved by the machine, by the over looker, and, above all, by the individual bourgeois manufacturer himself. 479 There is definitely exploitation and oppression of the Proletariat by the Bourgeoisie, but they are both part of a working system, that of Capitalism. By definition the one class depends on the other for its very existence. One cannot define a group as the owners of the means of production, without having a separate group that therefor is not; there can be no class distinguished ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. The Financial Crisis Of 2008 Hit The American Economy The financial crisis of 2008 hit the American economy and the world economy as well. It cost tens of millions of people their savings, jobs, and their homes. For decades the American financial system was stable and safe, but it changed. The financial industry turned its back on society; it corrupted the political system, and plunged the world economy into crisis. It was not an accident; it was caused by an out of control industry, a greedy industry. The crisis has made more damage to society while the industry has made more money. The residential mortgage crisis affected commercial real estate by making credit much more difficult to get. Real estate investment has been driven by leverage. One of the great things about real estate investment is that you do not need just cash to do it. The possible investors are either reluctant to acquire and develop real estate without the need of debt. As a result, the demand for real estate slowed and prices fell down. To understand better how everything started, let s mention the great depression. After the Great Depression, the United States had forty years of economic growth without a single financial crisis. The financial system was regulated, and most of the banks were local. They were prohibited from speculating depositor s savings. Investments banks were small private partnerships in charge of handling stock and trading. Describe how these and other inorganic ions are used in living organisms. Inorganic ions in animals and plants are necessary for vital cellular activity. In body tissue they can also be called electrolytes, which are essential for electrical activity needed to support muscle contractions and neuron activation. Ions also effect how pH changes in the blood and other bodily functions. Ions are also incorporated into the structure of biological molecules. Resting potentials require ions as they play a vital role in the process. In the surface membrane of a cell there are protein carriers. These actively pump Na+ ions out of the cytoplasm to the outside of the cell. At the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This stage is called repolarisation. The K+ channels then close, the sodium potassium pump restarts, restoring the normal distribution of ions either side of the cell surface membrane and thus restoring the resting potential. In response to this the Na+ channels in that area would open up, allowing Na+ ions to flood into the cell and thus reducing the resting potential of the cells. If the resting potential of the cell drops to the threshold level, then an action potential has been generated and an impulse will be fired. In photosynthesis H+ ions are vital in the production of the energy source that is ATP, which is used in several metabolic processes, such as respiration. The photolysis of water produces H+ ions, electrons and O2. The excited electrons lose energy as they move along the electron transport chain, this energy is used to transport the H+ ions (protons) in to the thylakoid, which causes a higher concentration of H+ than there is in the stroma, thus causing a proton gradient across the membrane. The H+ then proceed to move down the concentration gradient into the stroma via the enzyme ATP synthase. The energy from this process is called chemiosmosis and combines ADP with inorganic phosphate (Pi) to form ATP. Light energy is then absorbed by photosystem I (PS I) which excites the electrons to a higher energy level. These electrons are transferred to NADP with H+ ions from the stroma to form reduced NADP. • 8. London Dockland Case Study For places both rural and urban to maintain development and a strong economy they must rebrand. To keep with the times so to speak place must continue to redevelop in a number of ways. Both areas are at risk of becoming derelict and poverty struck if they don t regenerate. One of the main causes of decline is a lack of employment. In many areas with one ruling industry when the industry collapses the town is left with high levels of unemployment. As countries continue to develop their primary and secondary sectors shrink as it becomes cheaper for TNC s to outsource work to other cheaper countries. This among other reasons can leave towns and cities in decline as there are no longer jobs available and people have to move away for work or stay unemployed which has bad economic effects. An example of this happening in an urban area is the London Docklands. In the 19th century it was the busiest port in the world however by the 1960 s bigger boats were being used and the docks weren t deep enough for this. The docks were closed leaving lots of derelict land, few jobs and lots of social problems. However the docklands were successfully rebranded with the introduction of the LDDC. • 9. Essay on Importance of Nothing in Shakespeare s King Lear Importance of Nothing in William Shakespeare s King Lear The Tragedy of King Lear has many important themes. One major theme concerns nothing. The main focus around the discussion of nothing is that nothing is a many things. Nothing is what binds everything. The first mention of nothing is when King Lear asks his daughters to profess how much they love him. The eldest daughters shower compliments upon him tickling his ears. Yet the Lear s favorite daughter Cordelia will only speak the truth. When asked what she can say to gain her a portion of land better than her sisters, she replies, Nothing, my Lord (1.1. ) He exclaims, Nothing! (1.1. ) and she responds, Nothing (1.1. ). Lear s answers, Nothing will come of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Then he asks Lear, Can you make no use of nothing, nuncle (1.4. )? This question should prod Lear to think of his earlier mistake of making a big ordeal out of Cordelia s nothing. Ironically he responds, nothing can be made out of nothing (1.4. ), echoing what he said to Cordelia in 1.1. The Fool then tells Kent to tell him so much the rent of his land comes to (1.4. ). The answer to this, of course, would be nothing. The King has given all his land to Goneril and Regan. After Goneril walks into the room, he tells Lear thou art an O without a figure (1.4. ). An O without a figure would be a zero. Thus the Fool tells Lear that he is nothing. He continues by saying straightforwardly, I am a Fool, thou art nothing (1.4. ). Remarks like this provide ample opportunity for Goneril to rebuke Lear for having an all licens d Fool (1.4. ). In addition, the Fool calls Lear a sheal d peascod (1.4. ). This is another way of saying he is empty. He is nothing. These remarks provide a theme continuing throughout the story. The main theme is that nothing is what binds everything together. If Cordelia had not responded nothing then the King would be happy. He would have moved in with Cordelia and she would have supported him. Moreover, Cordelia would have kept her portion and would have married the Duke Burgundy. Thus, her nothing changed everything. In addition, this nothing gives the play comic relief. The Fool ... The hypothesis is invalid, it is not supported by the data. Mass is a the amount of matter in an object so it always remain the same. As shown on the table, the hooked masses vary depending on the degree of the incline so it cannot be the mass of the cart. In addition, the correct calculation of the mass of the cart proves that the hypothesis is wrong. For the 15 degree incline, the mass of the cart is 19.3kg while the hooked mass is .050kg. The consequence is either positive or negative it all depends on the reasoning on why one chooses to do what one does. The theme is that every choice you make can backfire or it can be good it all depends on what are the reasons and what is going through the person s mind. Many aspects affect the making of a decision it all depends whether the person making the decision is sad, happy, upset, tired, angry, or disappointed. Making a decision is influenced by emotions as stated above if you make a decision while you are angry your decision might be irrational and it might have a horrible consequence. When someone makes a decision it usually has some type of benefit for themselves but there are many decisions people make out of spite. Decision made to harm a person are the least desirable decisions to make. • 20. Summary Of Lev Vygotsky Russian psychologist, Lev Vygotsky, dedicated his studies to cognitive development. His theory, the Social Constructivist, or Social Development Theory, stresses the importance of social influences, especially through instruction, on children s cognitive development. This theory suggests that social interaction and community play a large role in making meaning. Vygotsky displays his theory using his Zone of Proximal Development, or ZPD. The Zone Proximal Development is a term used to describe the range of tasks that are too difficult for a child to master alone, but can be learned with guidance or assistance from adults or more skilled children. The lower limit of the Zone of Proximal Development is the level reached by children when working by themselves, without assistance from others. Contrary, the upper limit is the level in which tasks become too difficult for a child to work independently, and additional help from a more skillful adult or peer is needed. The purpose of the ZPD is to recognize where students lie in terms of ability of certain cognitive tasks and skills. It allows monitoring of student progress using scaffolding. Scaffolding is a term that is used to describe the level of support or guidance that is being offered to a student when learning a task. Scaffolding is a large factor of Vygotsky s theory; when a child is learning a new task, the level of guidance from a more skilled person is high, often through direct instruction. It depends on how long a MNC has been active in their international operations that impact the nature of their decision while implementing HR policies across their subsidiaries. Having a lack of international experience, a MNC will make their subsidiaries adopt their home country policies (The effect of corporate level organisational factors on the transfer of human resource management practices: European and US MNCs and their Greek subsidiaries, Barbara Myloni,July 2006). Maybe not all men or fathers do household chores, but many do. According to Catherine Rampell, a writer for The New York Times newspaper, on an average day, 66.6% men and 85% women report doing some sort of household activity. There are three simple techniques that companies should utilize and implement to profit from the new technological era. The man with the shotgun opened the gate and sauntered along the line of tellers, handing each of them a Hefty bag. When he came to the empty position he looked over at the man with the pistol, who said, Whose slot is that? Anders watched the teller. She put her hand to her throat and turned to the man she d been talking to. He nodded. Mine, she said. Then get your ugly ass in gear and fill that bag. There you go, Anders said to the woman in front of him. Justice is done. Hey! Bright boy! Did I tell you talk? No, Anders said.

  • 39. The Valley California Territory Is Once Inhabited By The... The Owen Valley California territory was once inhabited by the Paiutes people (an indigenous Native American group). When the Unites States acquired the California territory, expeditions were led across the state, and it was discovered by the white man that Owen Valley was a land of value. Government action (e.g. the Preemption and Homestead acts; government subsidies) encouraged western migration and expansion leading to the claim of most of the Owens Valley land. Similar to the guise of gentrification, the white man wanted to take primary control of the area for the sake of a need for development . The powerful Americans undermined the use values of the Paiute people, and threatened their quality of life and well being. The Paiutes resisted unsuccessfully (they were no match for the powerful United States army assisting the white settlers), and through the familiar tactics of deception, coercion, force, and violence, the Paiute people were forced from their land, and the ones who remained were stratified, and forced to endure subpar living conditions and work standards. The tides shifted years later when a new, more powerful group found interest in the natural resources of the Owen Valley territory. At the time, Los Angeles, California was a growing metropolis, and of major capitalistic interest to California (with significant ties to the political leaders of the United States as high up as the president). Being judgmental of someone or something by the physical features is a natural human instinct. Accordingly, in today s world, book publishers hire illustrators to make aesthetically pleasing book covers to accompany their writing. They are designed to grasp attention when the books are displayed among other books. This is why I decided to research about why a particular book cover was chosen and how it was related to the story. Perhaps this freedom abetted her to implement different writing techniques which were not widely used. In At the Bay, Linda views the sunset similar to a painting. Preoedipal and oedipal issues appear to be at the root of many of these problems (Sours, 1980; Schulman, 2002). Sours (1980), one of the first theorists to study the role that oedipal and preoedipal issues played in eating disorders, noted that his anorexic patients demonstrated separation anxieties as well as fear of control. Additional research offers confirmatory evidence that oedipal and preoedipal issues are salient for women with bulimia (Sperling, 1978; Wilson, 1992; Schulman, 2002). Therefore, bulimia nervosa (BN) can appropriately be conceptualized as reflecting both oedipal and preoedipal pathology, depending on the individual s central conflicts. For example, Schulman (2002) argued that the oedipal and preoedipal issues present in BN represent a daughter s attempt to take in a maternal object and spit her out. Schulman hypothesized that this was a way for the young woman to remain connected to the mother while also achieving some degree of separation (p. 129).
