The document discusses the properties of transparent, translucent, and opaque objects and defines what a shadow is. It then outlines the key requirements for the formation of shadows: 1) an object must be opaque, 2) there must be a light source, 3) a shadow can only be seen on a surface, 4) the size of the shadow depends on the position of the light source, and 5) shadows appear black in color.

Synthetic Fiber Construction in lab .pptxPavel ( NSTU)
Synthetic fiber production is a fascinating and complex field that blends chemistry, engineering, and environmental science. By understanding these aspects, students can gain a comprehensive view of synthetic fiber production, its impact on society and the environment, and the potential for future innovations. Synthetic fibers play a crucial role in modern society, impacting various aspects of daily life, industry, and the environment. ynthetic fibers are integral to modern life, offering a range of benefits from cost-effectiveness and versatility to innovative applications and performance characteristics. While they pose environmental challenges, ongoing research and development aim to create more sustainable and eco-friendly alternatives. Understanding the importance of synthetic fibers helps in appreciating their role in the economy, industry, and daily life, while also emphasizing the need for sustainable practices and innovation.

2024.06.01 Introducing a competency framework for languag learning materials ...Sandy Millin
http://sandymillin.wordpress.com/iateflwebinar2024
Published classroom materials form the basis of syllabuses, drive teacher professional development, and have a potentially huge influence on learners, teachers and education systems. All teachers also create their own materials, whether a few sentences on a blackboard, a highly-structured fully-realised online course, or anything in between. Despite this, the knowledge and skills needed to create effective language learning materials are rarely part of teacher training, and are mostly learnt by trial and error.
Knowledge and skills frameworks, generally called competency frameworks, for ELT teachers, trainers and managers have existed for a few years now. However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasn’t one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.
This webinar will introduce you to my framework, highlighting the key competencies I identified from my research. It will also show how anybody involved in language teaching (any language, not just English!), teacher training, managing schools or developing language learning materials can benefit from using the framework.

The Indian economy is classified into different sectors to simplify the analysis and understanding of economic activities. For Class 10, it's essential to grasp the sectors of the Indian economy, understand their characteristics, and recognize their importance. This guide will provide detailed notes on the Sectors of the Indian Economy Class 10, using specific long-tail keywords to enhance comprehension.

Operation “Blue Star” is the only event in the history of Independent India where the state went into war with its own people. Even after about 40 years it is not clear if it was culmination of states anger over people of the region, a political game of power or start of dictatorial chapter in the democratic setup.
The people of Punjab felt alienated from main stream due to denial of their just demands during a long democratic struggle since independence. As it happen all over the word, it led to militant struggle with great loss of lives of military, police and civilian personnel. Killing of Indira Gandhi and massacre of innocent Sikhs in Delhi and other India cities was also associated with this movement.

11. Quick Revision
• What are Transparent, Translucent and
opaque objects
• What is Shadow?
• Formation of Shadow
Editor's Notes
Now what is transparent object?
If you are able to see clearly through an object means it is allowing light to pass through it, is know as transparent object. For example :Clear Glass piece ,water etc.
So if you see through a clear glass as shown in picture, you can see clearly through a glass and can know what is exactly behind the glass.
Similarly in second picture, you can see a mouse and some other things inside the glass, Why ? just because, glass is a transparent object.
Another daily life example is when you drink water in a glass, you can see the bottom part of the glass from the top of filled water glass, why just because water is transparent object.
Now Translucent-There are some objects through which we can see, but not very clearly and light will pass through them. Such objects are known as translucent.
For example: Butter paper, in this picture we can see fingers just below the butter paper but not clearly ,
In case of LEB bulb, You can not see through the LED Bulb, but light will pass through them.
Now what is opaque objects ?
Opaque objects do not allow any light to pass through them.
You cannot see through an opaque object at all.
And because of his opaque objects form shadow.
So what is shadow?
When an opaque object is placed in path of light,
a dark portion is formed on the opposite side of object on the screen. This dark portion is called as shadow.
In this picture a doll is placed in path of torch light because doll is blocking the light falling on the wall, it creates a dark screen on the wall this dark portion is known as shadow
Now there is the dark region behind object facing light which does not receive light at all, this is known as Umbra
Now the question is How shadow is formed,
So First thing, to make a shadow an object must be opaque (opaque means, object does not allow light to pass through) or translucent ( means allows some light to pass through).
2nd we need source of light,
Source of light can natural or artificial but without light shadow can not be formed,
One question is asked generally, that can a shadow formed in a dark room? NO without source of light shadow can not be formed.
3rd Shadow can seen only on a screen
Screen could be wall, ground etc
One more thing,
Shadow are always formed in direction opposite to source of light
4th The size of shadow depends on the position of source of light,
So in the morning your shadow will be different length as compare to afternoon
5th Shadows are in black in color, here in this picture if u see color of hand is different from shadow, shadow is always black.
Another example you can take a red and yellow rose will have same black shadows.
So Shadow is formed, When an opaque object is placed in path of light.
So, it Needs a source of light
Shadow can seen only on a screen
Shadow are always formed in direction opposite to source of light
The size of shadow depends on the distance of source of light and on the angle at which the light rays fall on the object.
If the source of light is closer to the object, a larger shadow is formed than when the source of light is far from the object.
Shadows are in black in color and this is not changed by the color of the opaque objects. So a red and yellow rose will have same black shadows.
So till now we have understood about
What are Transparent, Translucent and opaque objects
What is Shadow?
Formation of Shadow
Now we will see in next part.
