The Paralysis Of Eveline
Eveline faces a difficult dilemma: remain home like a dutiful daughter, or leave Dublin with her lover,
Frank, who is a sailor. Eveline Hill sits at a window in her home and reminisce the times when she as
a child played with other children in a field which now has been developed with new homes As
Eveline was trying to make a major decision whether or not to move to Buenos Ayres (escape) with
Frank. She holds two letters, one to her father, one to her brother Harry. She begins to favor the
sunnier memories of her old family life, when her mother was alive and her brother was living at
home. She thought back of the moment she promised her mom that she will put all her dedication in
maintaining this home. And she reasons that her life at home and doing all of those chores are hard,
but perhaps not in the worst position her father isn t always mean, after all. This memory is also
important for another reason as it suggests that a bond (or connection) still remains between Eveline,
her siblings and her father. Despite how her father treats her, Eveline still feels connected to him. This
pushes her to escape from the fate and embark on a new phase of life. Eveline s action, of dusting
every week for so many years is significant as it suggests repetition, doing the same thing, which in
turn would suggest a paralysis within Eveline. It is also significant that the dust remains. This suggests
that no matter how much Eveline does while at home nothing will change. Appears

Othello Essay
English III
14 February 2017 Emilia Essay
Character development is seen in almost every character in the play Othello. Most of the characters
are seen tumbling in a downwards spiral of their former self; while other characters are seen becoming
more powerful due to the loss of power from the people above them. One of the characters that
developed from her superior s weaknesses is Iago s wife, Emilia. Emilia spends most of her time with
Othello s wife, Desdemona. Most of their conversation surrounds the topics of gender roles in society
and in their relationships. Desdemona s insecurity in her relationship leads Emilia to find her own
voice in order to defend her friend. Shakespeare utilizes ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Although Iago shoots her down; the fact that she even questioned him, shows change between Act I
Emilia and Act III Emilia. Although Emilia gave her husband the handkerchief he so very much
desired for his love; she still wondered what he had in store for her friend, Desdemona. In Act IV,
Othello hits Desdemona and they both continue in a downward spiral. At this time, Emilia and
Desdemona are really good friends and the audience sees a switch between the two.
The outspoken Desdemona is now a reserved housewife; and the reserved Emilia is now the
outspoken confidant that Desdemona relies on. She believes that her friend does not deserve the
treatment that has been served to her; so she speaks out on her problems reversing the roles placed on
them both. As Desdemona begins to settle into the housewife settings, she calls upon Iago and Emilia
recalls most of the event to her husband herself. Throughout the conversation, she even brings up
something she was too afraid to do so earlier: Iago s accusations that made you to suspect me with the
Moor. (IV.ii.173). Emilia has completely changed to a woman with an unfiltered speech; through the
heat she gained from her anger at Othello for hurting her friend mentally and physically, she
accounted some of her own relationship problems.
Admitting her own problems made it easier for her to betray her

Essay Of Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT)
Williams et al (2014) compared MBCT with both cognitive psychological education, and treatment as
usual, he compared the success rate of the therapy in preventing the relapse of MDD in people
currently in remission phase following at least 3 previous episodes. It was consequently found that
MBCT provided significant protection against the relapse, for participants with increased vulnerability
due to adverse psychological history, but showed no significant advantage in comparison to an active
control treatment and usual care over the whole group of patients with persistently recurring
depression. Coelho et al (2013) provided a detailed outline of the evidence that supports the claim that
MBCT is a recently developed class based program designed to prevent the relapse and recurrence of
Major Depression. . The evidence from the randomized trials reviewed by the authors, suggests that
for patients with 3 or more previous depressive episodes, MBCT has an additive benefit to usual care.
J. R. van Aalderen, et al (2011) examined the efficacy of mindfulness based cognitive therapy
(MBCT) in addition to treatment as usual (TAU) for recurrent depressive patients and found that
MBCT resulted in a comparable reduction of depressive symptoms for patients. Analyses also suggest

2.6 Support Vector Machine Classification We have used the latest version of LibSVM 3.20 [39]
library for our SVM work. The Radial Basis Function (RBF) Gaussian Kernel is utilized as an SVM
kernel function. The similarity reduced IEDB dataset under test consists of twelve alleles of binders
and non binders peptides. The binders peptides represent our positive instances while the non binder
peptides represent the negative instances. We have selected balanced x instances from each allele (i.e.,
x binders and x non binders), where x is the minimum count number of all binders and non binders
peptides in each allele as shown in Table 1. The HLA DRB1*0101 allele from Wang benchmark

(GAPES) 3. Results and Discussion The proposed prediction technique is implemented and tested
using Java platform with JDK1.8.0_20 on Intel Core 2 Duo 2.2 GHz processor and 3 GB RAM,
running on Microsoft Windows 7 operating system. 3.1 GA Performance and Parameter Settings The
proposed genetic algorithm in this study is applied to search for the lowest free energy conformation
of the epitopes sequence and nonamer subsequence. The GA is an elitist based strategy with the
roulette wheel selection and the elitist steady state replacement. Two types of real coded crossovers
and two levels of mutation were performed. The elitism based GA is used to emphasize the best
chromosomes in the genetic operations. Elitism increases the performance of GA rapidly because it
keeps the best found solution through the succeeding generations and prevents losing it. There are
many genetic parameters are needed in the standard genetic algorithm, such as the population size, the
crossover probability, and the mutation rate. The parameters employed in our proposed GA for
predicting epitopes tertiary structure are: population size N=200, the selected population M=30 (elitist
chromosomes) to apply the GA operators, and the crossover probability is equal to 1. We used two

Voter Turnout Research Paper
Elections are an important part of creating a legitimate state. They allow us to have a say in how
decisions are made in a government. However, the voter turnout for an election does not have an effect
on the type of regime that will develop in a state. It does not matter if the election is in an authoritarian
government or a democratic one, the regime does not have a large impact on the turnout of voters.
What matters in voter turnout is whether the citizens believe in the regime. If they feel that the state is
legitimate then they are more likely to vote. Also, if the voters believe that their vote counts and is not
a wasted vote then you are more likely to have a larger voter turnout. For example, the International

The Fourteenth Amendment Of The Constitution
The Thirteenth, Fourteenth, and Fifteenth Amendments are a really big part of the Constitution for
slavery and about the equal rights in the United States. The government created the thirteenth,
fourteenth, and fifteenth amendment to allow racial equality in the United States by freeing all of the
slaves, giving them the right to get citizenship, and the right to vote. I will be talking about each
Amendment and how they were formed and also why. The Thirteenth Amendment of the Constitution
says, Section 1. Neither slavery nor involuntary servitude, except as a punishment for crime whereof
the party shall have been duly convicted, shall exist within the United States, or any place subject to
their jurisdiction. Section 2. Congress shall ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Since the Thirteenth Amendment was passed in America than that means that all of the slaves are free
and get the same rights as any usual white man. Thirteenth amendment makes slavery and involuntary
servitude, in America it is illegal to have slaves. President Andrew Johnson helped get the thirteenth
amendment ratified by three fourths of the state in 1865. To pass a law the state legislatures have to
vote more than three fourths or else the law does not become a law. It also takes a long time for all of
the legislatures to vote on it because they have to talk about it and agree or disagree with each other
and that could become a very long time before the law gets approved or not. They ended slavery after
the Civil War and the Senate proposed the thirteenth amendment in 1864. Slavery was the main reason
that the Civil War started. Abraham Lincoln started it by trying to put the Thirteenth Amendment into
the Constitution. Kentucky is the only state that still uses the Union and declined to emancipate slaves.
Kentucky is one of the states that allowed people to have slaves and have people work for them
legally. The thirteenth amendment is the subject of controversy. The Supreme Court ruled the
Thirteenth amendment and says that it does not apply to discrimination in private relationships.
Mississippi did not ratify the thirteenth amendment. Mississippi was allowed to be

Reflective Models Used by Nurses Essay
Reflective Practice Introduction: Reflection its self is looking into personal thoughts and actions. For
nurses this would mean looking at how they performed a particular task taking into consideration their
interaction with their colleagues and other members of staff, patients and in some cases relatives This
then enables the nurse to assess their actions and thought processes. There are various frameworks of
reflection that one could choose and the examples used for this work is by Gibbs (1988), Johns (2000)
and Benner (1982) Gibbs: Gibbs reflective cycle encourages one to think in order about the different
areas of an experience. It is presented in a number of questions that the reflective practitioner ... Show

John s model (1995) for structured reflection adopts a humanistic view seeing the nurse and patient as
equal partners in creating the environment for care . Dawn Freshwater, Christopher Johns.
(1998,2005) It gives the user many more questions to answer instead of letting the practitioner find
their own way from section to section of the model. The Model: How could I handle this better in a
similar situation? What would be the consequences of alternative actions? How did my actions match
my beliefs? How do I feel about the situation? Has this changed my ways of knowing? A model of
structured reflection (10th version) Johns, 1995. As one can see this method of reflection is rather
prescriptive asking many questions but maybe this idea helps some practioners reflect without missing
anything they perceive as being important. To engage in such a deep level of reflection requires the
personal and daily practice of the nurse to undertake this commitment for ontological development of
one s self. A model of structured reflection (10th version) Johns ( 1995). Benner: Benner is a nursing
theorist who came up with a specific framework. Her Book from which the framework originally
comes looks at the knowledge within clinical nurse practice and uses the Dreyfus model of skill
acquisition used in nursing. Prentice Hall (2001). Her framework was produced to enable nurses to put
their nursing actions into systems. The

Psychosocial Theory And Erikson s Pychosocial Development...
Psychosocial Development Theory Erik Erikson postulated eight psychosocial stages, an innovation to
the five stages of development of Dr. Sigmund Freud. Each of the psychosocial stages are present at
birth but only begin to unfold according to the childrens ecological and cultural upbringing. Each
stage is marked by a psychosocial crisis that needs to be resolved so that the individual can move to
the next stage of development (Heffner, 2014). The developmental task for the preschoolers in this
theory is to achieve a sense of initiative and overcome sense of guilt. Erikson believed that children in
this stage begin to plan activitites, make up games, and initiative activities with others. In this theory,
parents and other care takers take ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Piaget believed that children are like little scientists and that they actively try to explore and make
sense of the world around them. He developed a stage theory of intellectual development that includes
four distinct stages: sensorimotor stage, preoperational stage, concrete operational stage and formal
operational stage. In his stages especially the second stage which is the preoperational, the child rises
above simple sensory experiences. Words can be used as symbolic representations of objects and
events. Children in the preoperational stage can be egocentric. They cannot distinguish between
themselves in the place of others. At this stage, the child does not seem to be capable of certain logical
operations and the child thinks that more things are alive than an older child or adult would. Further,
because the child is egocentric, there is a tendency to blame oneself for the event (Crain, 2011). With
this, Piaget believed that children learn through pretend play but still struggle with logic and taking the
point of view of other people (Cherry, 2016). Piaget theory and its concepts is applicable to this study
because thru this theory, the researcher was able to develop play activities which involves cognitive,
affective, and psychomotor to enchance the childrens potential and improve their

Count the Cost is a Collaborative Effort to Fight the War...
Count the Costs is a collaborative project between a range of organisations that, while representing a
diverse range of expertise and viewpoints, share a desire to reduce the unintended costs of the war on
drugs. The Count the Costs project aims to highlight the negative impacts of the war on drugs in seven
key policy areas: Development and Security; Public health; Human Rights; Stigma and
Discrimination; Crime; The Environment; and Economics. The project calls upon world leaders and
UN agencies to quantify the unintended negative consequences of the current approach to drugs, and
assess the potential costs and benefits of alternative approaches. (Count the Costs, 2012)
Outlining the Problem
In 2008, the Executive Director of UNODC, Antonio Maria Costa, affirmed there is indeed a spirit of
reform in the air, to make the conventions fit for purpose and adapt them to the reality on the ground
that is considerably different to the time they were drafted. With the multilateral machinery to adapt
the conventions already available, all we need is: first, a renewed commitment to the principles of
multilateralism and shared responsibility; second, a commitment to base our reform on empirical
evidence and not ideology; and thirdly, to put in place concrete actions that support the above, going
beyond mere rhetoric and pronouncement . (UNODC, 2008)
There has been an increasing sentiment of discontent within the international community about the

Literary Analysis Of Persepolis
Taking place in the late 1970 s, Marjane Satrapi s Persepolis exemplifies a profound illustration of the
county of Iran, including aspects of its people and political structure. Unlike a conventional composed
novel, the story of Persepolis is expressed through both textual and visual representation; otherwise
known as a graphic novel. Through the experiences of the ten year old character Marjane, the reader is
exposed to historical events, movements, crises, and motives that occurred within Iran. Furthermore,
the novel has gained much praise in its portrayal of emotions that occurred through the people of Iran.
Although there has been tremendous support of the account of Marjane, there have been a few critics
of the novel, attacking its overall literary value. For instance, New York s Ithaca College student paper
called The Ithacan, slammed the role Persepolis had on the literary society. In fact, they went as far to
say that the novel ...is worth broaching but its literary value, in terms of building vocabulary and
furthering comprehension, falls short. An absurd statement, to say the least. Not only is Persepolis of
literary value, it is a glimpse into the past. It allows the reader to understand the various conflicts that
the people of Iran were facing. Through the account of Marjane, the audience is exposed to elements
of Iranian history, gender roles, religion, and political fluctuation.
The story of Marjane opens during a fundamental time period of Iranian history, a period that
consisted of the Islamic Revolution. As stated earlier on in the novel, this revolution was the force that
caused the Shah to flee from Iran in the year of 1979. Like many others in Iran during this time,
Marjane and her family found no interest in the Shah. During his reign, the Shah showed signs of
diluting Iran s value of a constitutional monarch, and instead moved the country towards an absolute
monarchy. Additionally, with the U.S peddling the Iranian oil supply, many Iranians felt betrayed by
the Shah, as he became a so called puppet for the U.S. Because of this, his popularity slowly
plummeted, and an uprise began within the country. This uprise, is then shown through Marjane s
perspective. Therefore, through

Piglet And Hypoglycemia
Hypoglycemia is an expression used to describe a below average glucose level. Due to young age,
piglets have trouble walking and feeding off their mother (or sow) to get essential nutrients. One of
these essential nutrients is glucose (or sugar). This nutrient is essential because it give the animal
energy to become mobile. When born piglets already have low levels of glucose; however, the animal
body is supposed to compensate by using the low glycogen reserves located in the piglets liver. The
glycogen reserves are supposed to give the piglets a sufficient amount of glucose until the piglets are
able to move towards and to feed off the sow. The piglet is dependent on the sow for energy provided
by the lactose in the sows milk; however, if the piglet is deficient in not getting enough lactose to
maintain the piglets energy, the level of the piglet s energy will suffer from Hypoglycemia because...

By doing so the piglet would be getting the energy to continue feeding which in turn will allow
growth. However, if the piglet suffers from Hypoglycemia the piglet is unable to feed off their mother.

reserves in the liver which compensates for the non hypoglycemic piglet to give in enough energy to
feed off of the non hypoglycemic piglet s mother. If piglets suffer from hypoglycemia the piglet its
deficient in glucose and is unable to use it low glycogen reserves. The piglet that suffers from
hypoglycemia will struggle to move and to survive since it the piglet does not have any energy and
cannot feed. The piglet will go into a coma and later

this irrelevance but too happy to let it worry him (69). Jack unwittingly sabotaged the rescue of all the

The Definition Of Public Relations Essay
Deconstructing the PRINZ definition of Public Relations
Public Relations in New Zealand is widely useful, practised and builds up an organisation s
relationships with its publics. PR in short, is essentially about communication and relationship
building. PRINZ [Public Relations Institute of New Zealand] (2009) defines PR as The deliberate,
planned and sustained effort to establish and maintain mutual understanding between an organisation
and its publics. This essay will deconstruct and critically examine this definition of public relations in
relation to PR theories. These theories being Systems Theory, Relationship Management and
Excellence Theory will be examined and applied to campaign examples. This will give a
comprehensive understanding of the theory s meanings as well as relationships with aspects of the
PRINZ definition of PR. To understand PR theories however, the term publics must first be addressed.
Gordon (2011) describes publics as potential or actual audiences connected to various messages.
(Rawlins, 2006) furthers this statement by stating that publics ...can be employees, shareholders,
political leaders, consumers, etc. and ...are often segmented even further by demographics,
geographics, or psychographics. (p.133). Grunig and Repper (1992) expand on this saying publics are
self formed and identify organisations for attention, essentially meaning publics are groups of people
linked by a common interest or problem. PR practitioners according to (Gordon,

Analysis Of The Article Geeks On The World s Biggest...
After reading the article Geeks in Toyland by Brendan Koerner, I realized the importance of
organizational culture to connect the customers to the company. This article talks about the corporate
culture and leadership style of Soren Lund (Mindstorms product director). He was asked to come up
with a new version which is not a slightly improved model, but to create something completely
different. Each company has their own corporate culture. During my research, I came across a similar
article that talks about the corporate culture and leadership style of America s most successful
company, Apple Inc. The Fortune magazine article How Apple Works: Inside the World s biggest
startup by Adam Lashinsky explains how big company such as Apple Inc. really operates. By the time
he s finished, you ll probably still want to buy Apple products, but you may not want to work for the
firm. Apple s products have always been created by small teams working closely together, with no
outside intervention (apart from the management s directions). This was the case when it was first
founded in 1976 with only three people, and is true today with almost 25,000 people employed. In
Apple s early existence, these teams consisted of talented people hand picked by the senior
management (particularly Steve Jobs). Apple s organizational structure is relevant to the research
article Geeks in Toyland as it demonstrates Steve Jobs role at Apple, and the importance of various

Dream Interpretation Guides Us in Understanding the...
I. Intro Paragraph: Dream interpretation is a process of assigning meaning to dreams. In ancient Egypt
and Greece, dreaming was considered a supernatural communication or a means of divine intervention
whose messages that could be reveled by people with certain powers. Sigmund Freud came up with
two techniques to get information on his patients unconscious minds. One of Freud s techniques that
he came up with was interpreting dreams.
Dream interpretations have formed a large part of Freud s method of understanding mental life; he
also believed that subdued materials often surfaced in dreams in a symbolic form. Dreams can be
confusing, frightening, or wonderful, which reveals our innermost secrets.
Thesis Statement: Dreams can reflect human emotions, and other experiences, like our deepest
desires, hopes, fears, and fantasies. If we interpret our dreams, it may help us understand ourselves
better and help us solve our problems.
II. History of Dreams: Dream interpretations were first documented on clay tablets that dated back to
3000 to 4000 B.C. People in primal societies were unable to distinguish between the dream world and
reality. The people in these societies didn t see the dream world as an extension of reality; instead they
saw it as powerful world. This path of dream interpretation also leads back to the ancient Egyptians
with the first written record of dream interpretation around 1350 B.C. Egyptians believed that dreams

The Pantheon Research Paper
The Architectural Significance of the Pantheon
The Pantheon is a magnificent temple that was built during ancient roman times and still stands today.
The design of the Pantheon and the significance of it are directly related to a sun dial and
understanding the way the sun works with the structure. It was originally built by Agrippa around 27
BC but was partially destroyed by a fire. During Hadrian s reign, he rebuilt the Pantheon enhancing its
architecture along with its meaning. This temple was dedicated to all the Gods of Rome and used as a
place to worship them. Hadrian also held judicial court in the temple at times. The Pantheon became a
church specifically, a station church, where the pope would hold special masses during Lent, the ...

One reason for this is the walls of the Pantheon reach up to 20ft thick making it impossible for
windows. The specific construction of the Pantheon also made it impossible for light to enter at the
entrance when the front doors opened. No direct sunlight can enter from the door in the course of the
whole year, owing to the northward orientation of the entrance doorway (Hannah). This was unusual
for roman temples, as they normally were set to face the south so the sun could illuminate the temples
year round. One explanation of the northern orientation is that the project of the building was to some
extent inspired by a particular type of sundial, which captured the sunlight within a shadowy interior
(Harris). With the Romans giving great significance to the sun and the detailed position and
measurements made in building the Pantheon, researchers have made many findings to give reason
that the Pantheon was some form of a sun dial or astronomical instrument. At the autumn equinox
[September 22n d], the spot of sunlight touches the interior springing of the upper hemisphere. Then at
winter solstice [December 22nd] the spot of sunlight moves up to a maximum height in the roof over
the entrance. Thereafter, it moves down, touching again the base of the dome at the spring equinox
[March 21st]. From the summer solstice [June 21st] the beam turns back , re crossing the entrance

Letter to the Editor
Dear Editor,
I am writing to you in regard to the Bridger Teton National Forest. I write to you as someone who
believes in preservation. I believe that the forest should be preserved and not conserved. The Bridger
Teton National Forest is a landmark and should be kept that way. It is a place where locals find
solitude in huge tracts of forest backcountry when nearby wilderness areas and national parks are
crowded with out of state visitors. It s also a place that supports traditional, sustainable activities such
as outfitting, guiding, ranching, and recreation ( Wyoming Outdoor Council 2009 2013). All of these
values are being threatened because the forest is being considered for oil and gas development. While
oil and gas may be useful to us, I do not think that the forest should suffer the consequences. The
natural resources should be left alone for everyone to enjoy in its natural state. To upset this would be
environmentally incorrect.

people that committed a crime needed medical attention. Another scientific discourse Bellamy use is
the physical health between the nineteenth century and twentieth century. In chapter nineteen Bellamy
explains the new legal system, and on how crime has become an illness. Dr. Leete explains to Julian
that there are not any jails now a days. All cases of Atavism is treated in hospitals (150) . Dr. Leete
explains to him that the classless society and the giving of riches or wealth have reduced crime. There
was no need for police officers, lawyers, or prisons. Why was there a need to commit a crime if you ...

Riches debauched one class with idleness of mind and body, while poverty sapped the vitality of the
masses by overwork, bad food, and pestilent homes (165). The wealthy in the ninetieth century did not
really care too much for physical education, and the poor would just work and work just to make a
living, so their health would decline or get worse. In the novel West was really fascinated on how
healthy the twentieth century was. The labor which is required of all is limited to the period of greatest
bodily vigor, and is never excessive: care for one s self and one s family, anxiety as to livelihood, the
strain of a ceaseless battle for life (165). Since the twentieth century was physically healthy, did they
have doctors ? Did they need doctors ? What happened if one`s health got bad ? Insanity and suicide

Essay War Ethics in Iraq
Lieutenant Colonel Allen B. West of the U.S. Army 4th Infantry Division is a leader doing what a
leader is required to do; to lead and protect those in which he leads. LTC West was charged with
communicating a threat and aggravated assault. These are serious war crimes charged to a leader who
was undeserving of such implications. The villains here are the politicians who prevent soldiers like
LTC West from efficiently fighting the war in Iraq.
LTC West a battalion officer in Iraq during on or about January of 2003 to October of 2003; made a
controversial decision. LTC West and his battalion of artillery and infantry was a fighting unit in Iraq.

After the second shot was fired the policeman disclosed all information having to do with a sniper
ambush. LTC West pursued this invaluable information. The information the policeman gave up was
accurate. LTC West and his soldiers wiped out the ambush before it could cause them harm.
It is unfortunate that soldiers have to fight with their hands behind their back in Iraq. And there is no
doubt about it; soldiers have to do just that. Soldiers in Iraq are fighting under a dangerous
environment where the next step could be their last, as loyalists of Saddam Hussein s regime attack
them relentlessly. The enemy is wearing civilian clothes and hiding behind women and children. So
when you ask battalion and company commanders to stop the violence against the Iraqi people and
against soldiers, the pressure to use aggressive interrogation techniques seems to be reasonable. LTC
West simply put his soldiers first and in doing so saved a countless number of lives. LTC West should
not be pursued as a criminal but instead a hero.
This act of political positioning has caused a huge wave of demoralization throughout the military;
from Iraq to here at home. I can vouch for such feelings in Iraq. I happened to be there in October of
2003 when LTC West was unfairly charged. My unit felt the demoralized and the 82nd

Redemption in Alice Walker s Color Purple Essay
Redemption in The Color Purple
Alice Walker grew up in rural Georgia in the mid 1900s as the daughter of two poor sharecroppers.
Throughout her life, she has been forced to face and overcome arduous lessons of life. Once she
managed to transfer the struggles of her life into a book, she instantaneously became a world
renowned author and Pulitzer Prize winner. The Color Purple is a riveting novel about the struggle
between redemption and revenge according to Dinitia Smith. The novel takes place rural Georgia,
starting in the early 1900s over a period of 30 years. Albert, also known as Mr._____, and his son
Harpo must prevail over their evil acts towards other people, especially women. Albert and Harpo

When Albert recognizes his need to change, he has reached his first step towards redemption.
Harpo s redemption comes about much more quickly than Albert s does. Perhaps this is because Harpo
is not as stubborn or awful as his father, or perhaps because there was always love between him and
his wife, Sofia; however, he still does great wrongs towards Sofia and women and general. He has
been taught that a man should be above all women in every aspect. Harpo eventually learns that he
cannot control Sofia, he tries to beat her at first; but she ends up hurting him badly. Harpo s first step
towards redemption is concluding that he and Sofia truly love each other, and that he needs to treat her
well if he wants to keep her (Walker 38). Even after understanding this, he does not truly learn how
much Sofia means to him until she is taken from him (Walker 89).
Albert was able to overcome the stereotype set upon him, and all he grew up learning to become a
person. He had to evaluate how he treated people in his life, and take action to correct his mistakes.
Albert discovers reflection that makes him a defined person, despite his reflective manner at the end of
the novel; he remains in the area of possibility (Davis 405). While Albert reflects on his faults, he
learns that ...morality is not an external dictate. It doesn t matter if you love the wrong people, ...or
whether you have money, or go to church, ...what

Psychological Concepts In The Lion King
The movie The Lion King demonstrates exceeding amounts of psychological concepts, theories and
principles as shown in the movie. There is a few of which we talked about in class that takes place
during the movie in which will be stated below, even though there are tons more that could be talked
about. The creators of the film knew what they were doing when they were putting together the
animation movie, sliding in all the psychological concepts as possible in a little childs film. When a
child is watching the movie they do not think about, or even know any of the concepts/theories on
what is going on. These are things such as the prosocial behavior, guilt/shame,

Mufasa was the brother that was more extroverted, he had the throne, the strength, and all the good
looks. Throughout the scenes in the movie you could see Mufasa had a personality of someone that
was a strong, proud, and the dominant ruler of his kingdom. He was willing to protect his kingdom
prepared to fight when he thought Scar had challenged him. He did all of that until his death, dying
when recusing Simba from the stampede of wildebeest. He puts his trust into his brother who very
easily betrayed him. Scar was the more introverted brother, he was much smarter than Mufasa, but
didn t have the looks, and his longing for the throne made him very deceptive. He produced the plan to
at first kill his nephew, and then his brother. The first plan to kill Simba was by tricking him into going
out into the elephant graveyard to be attacked and eaten by the hyenas. When that didn t work he came
up with the plan to kill Mufasa by not actually having to do it himself, giving the hyenas instructions
when to create the stampede in which he had placed Simba right down in the middle of, knowing
Mufasa would try to save him, because that is his son. These two brothers were very different Scar had
a dark side going on while Mufasa was more of the bright light. One could say the message is that it it

The laptops portability and size is also beneficial to the user of a small bedroom where space is
limited, but the risks of damage are increased and can be costly to repair, whereas the standalone
desktop is considered more durable.
Most desktops offer a better price to performance ratio (Kb.wisc.edu, 2014), they are also the most
versatile in terms of upgrading. Although it is possible in many cases to replace the RAM and hard
drive in a laptop, a desktop allows for all the main components of a computer
(including the motherboard and CPU) to be upgraded when they become outdated or need to be
replaced. Operating system An operating system or OS is a software program that enables the
computer hardware to communicate and operate with the computer software. Without a computer
operating system, a computer and software programs would be useless (Computerhope.com, 2014,
online).
The most common and reputable OS used in computers is Microsoft Windows and Apple MacOS.
Internet research suggests that many of the latest DAW software companies recommend Windows 7 or
8 for Microsoft and OS X 10.8/10.9 for Mac.
Microsoft Windows offers the most flexibility in terms of computer choice, as it is not limited to one
brand, whereas MacOS will only run on Apple computers. Subsequently, a Windows PC will enable
the user on a budget to purchase a computer with the technical specifications needed to run the DAW
software at a lower price than an

Less than one in 10 women of Pompeii whose bodies have been discovered were wearing or carrying
jewellery, and only a fraction of them would have owned a complete set. To be adorned in gold from
head to toe was a sign of the very highest status and almost all the jewellery that has been discovered
would have belonged to the wives of members of the town council.
Pale skin was ideal for wealthy women so they wore foundation made out of chalk, animal fat, and
white led. To show they didn t have to do work outside in the sun. They wore lipstick made out of
molluscs and ochre. Dark eyes were considered beautiful so they wore eyeliner made out of soot.
Perfume bottles were also found. The perfumes were made from spices and herbs e.g. lavender, orange

Cancer Is A Disease Of The Cells
Cancer is a disease of the cells, Inside all cells are coded instructions for making new cells and
controlling how cells behave. These coded instructions are genes. Abnormal changes in genes can turn
normal ovarian cells to cancer cells. Normal cells grow and divided to make new cells. New cells are
made as the body needs them to replace injured or dying cells. When normal cells grow old or get
damaged, they die. Cancer cells don t do that. The changes in genes causes cancer cells to make too
many copies of themselves (National comprehensive cancer network,2015).
Cancer cells make new cells that aren t needed and don t die quickly when old or damaged. Most
times cancer cells grow and divide enough to form a mass or tumour. The first tumour formed by the
overgrowth of cancer cell is known as the primary tumour.
Ovarian cancer is the most deadly type of gynecologic malignancy in the United States (Morgan et
al.,2013). While there are multiple histological subtypes of ovarian cancer, epithelial cell types are the
most common variant and therefore contribute greatly to the morbidity and mortality attributed to
ovarian malignancy (Quirk and Natarajan,2005 ). Serous epithelial tumors have the highest incidence
noted to constitute about 70% of tumors of epithelial origin, while other subtypes comprise the
remaining cases, most commonly mucinous, endometrioid, and clear cell (Irving et al.,
2006,McCluggage, 2011). Demo graphically, white women have the highest incidence of

The Primary Market Structures And Marketing Efforts, And...
Summary
This report looks at the four primary market structures, with a focus on two. Within each of these two
market structures, this report will examine an industry, summarizing industry operations and
characteristics, advertising and marketing efforts, and the principal agent problem.
Market Structures
There are four basic market structures, each determined by the number of firms in the market and the
dynamics of competition. They are perfect competition, monopoly, oligopoly, and monopolistic
competition. (Flynn, n.d.)
A market structure with perfect competition has a number of firms all offering an identical product. A
firm with a monopoly has no competition; this market structure is also called imperfect competition
due to the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The company s name became synonymous with film. When Polaroid introduced instant film, it too
had a corner on its market as the only company with this technology.
In effect, a monopoly restricts free trade as it has no competition. A monopolistic firm is a price setter,
having the ability to set the price for a product that has no competition and no readily available
substitutes. (Price Maker, n.d.)
Another characteristic of a monopoly is its barriers to entry. These can include high start up costs,
control of natural resources, government regulations or restrictions, patents or copyrights, and
exclusive rights. A perfect example of a monopoly is a utility; this report will analyze electric utilities
as a monopoly.
Perfect Competition
Perfect competition, at the other end of the spectrum, has a large number of firms that all make or sell
the exact same product, such as beef or milk. These firms are price takers as there is no one firm that
can influence price. (Price Taker, n.d.) If one firm tried to raise prices or cut back production to
influence supply and demand there are several other companies to which consumers can take their
business.
Other characteristics of perfect competition include little or no exit or entry barriers, small market
share for each competitor, and price transparency to consumers. (Perfect Competition, n.d.) To better
understand the concept of perfect competition,

  • 2. The Paralysis Of Eveline Eveline faces a difficult dilemma: remain home like a dutiful daughter, or leave Dublin with her lover, Frank, who is a sailor. Eveline Hill sits at a window in her home and reminisce the times when she as a child played with other children in a field which now has been developed with new homes As Eveline was trying to make a major decision whether or not to move to Buenos Ayres (escape) with Frank. She holds two letters, one to her father, one to her brother Harry. She begins to favor the sunnier memories of her old family life, when her mother was alive and her brother was living at home. She thought back of the moment she promised her mom that she will put all her dedication in maintaining this home. And she reasons that her life at home and doing all of those chores are hard, but perhaps not in the worst position her father isn t always mean, after all. This memory is also important for another reason as it suggests that a bond (or connection) still remains between Eveline, her siblings and her father. Despite how her father treats her, Eveline still feels connected to him. This pushes her to escape from the fate and embark on a new phase of life. Eveline s action, of dusting every week for so many years is significant as it suggests repetition, doing the same thing, which in turn would suggest a paralysis within Eveline. It is also significant that the dust remains. This suggests that no matter how much Eveline does while at home nothing will change. Appears ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Jessica Foy. Othello Essay. English Iii. 14 February 2017. Jessica Foy Othello Essay English III 14 February 2017 Emilia Essay Character development is seen in almost every character in the play Othello. Most of the characters are seen tumbling in a downwards spiral of their former self; while other characters are seen becoming more powerful due to the loss of power from the people above them. One of the characters that developed from her superior s weaknesses is Iago s wife, Emilia. Emilia spends most of her time with Othello s wife, Desdemona. Most of their conversation surrounds the topics of gender roles in society and in their relationships. Desdemona s insecurity in her relationship leads Emilia to find her own voice in order to defend her friend. Shakespeare utilizes ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Although Iago shoots her down; the fact that she even questioned him, shows change between Act I Emilia and Act III Emilia. Although Emilia gave her husband the handkerchief he so very much desired for his love; she still wondered what he had in store for her friend, Desdemona. In Act IV, Othello hits Desdemona and they both continue in a downward spiral. At this time, Emilia and Desdemona are really good friends and the audience sees a switch between the two. The outspoken Desdemona is now a reserved housewife; and the reserved Emilia is now the outspoken confidant that Desdemona relies on. She believes that her friend does not deserve the treatment that has been served to her; so she speaks out on her problems reversing the roles placed on them both. As Desdemona begins to settle into the housewife settings, she calls upon Iago and Emilia recalls most of the event to her husband herself. Throughout the conversation, she even brings up something she was too afraid to do so earlier: Iago s accusations that made you to suspect me with the Moor. (IV.ii.173). Emilia has completely changed to a woman with an unfiltered speech; through the heat she gained from her anger at Othello for hurting her friend mentally and physically, she accounted some of her own relationship problems. Admitting her own problems made it easier for her to betray her ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Essay Of Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) Williams et al (2014) compared MBCT with both cognitive psychological education, and treatment as usual, he compared the success rate of the therapy in preventing the relapse of MDD in people currently in remission phase following at least 3 previous episodes. It was consequently found that MBCT provided significant protection against the relapse, for participants with increased vulnerability due to adverse psychological history, but showed no significant advantage in comparison to an active control treatment and usual care over the whole group of patients with persistently recurring depression. Coelho et al (2013) provided a detailed outline of the evidence that supports the claim that MBCT is a recently developed class based program designed to prevent the relapse and recurrence of Major Depression. . The evidence from the randomized trials reviewed by the authors, suggests that for patients with 3 or more previous depressive episodes, MBCT has an additive benefit to usual care. J. R. van Aalderen, et al (2011) examined the efficacy of mindfulness based cognitive therapy (MBCT) in addition to treatment as usual (TAU) for recurrent depressive patients and found that MBCT resulted in a comparable reduction of depressive symptoms for patients. Analyses also suggest that the reduction of depressive symptoms was mediated by decreased ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The Radial Basis Function (RBF) Gaussian Kernel is utilized as an SVM kernel function. The similarity reduced IEDB dataset under test consists of twelve alleles of binders and non binders peptides. The binders peptides represent our positive instances while the non binder peptides represent the negative instances. We have selected balanced x instances from each allele (i.e., x binders and x non binders), where x is the minimum count number of all binders and non binders peptides in each allele as shown in Table 1. The overall process of our proposed technique to predict the epitope structure is illustrated in (Figure 2). Figure 2: The overall process of the Genetic Algorithm for Predicting the Epitope Structure (GAPES) 3. Results and Discussion The proposed prediction technique is implemented and tested using Java platform with JDK1.8.0_20 on Intel Core 2 Duo 2.2 GHz processor and 3 GB RAM, running on Microsoft Windows 7 operating system. 3.1 GA Performance and Parameter Settings The proposed genetic algorithm in this study is applied to search for the lowest free energy conformation of the epitopes sequence and nonamer subsequence. The GA is an elitist based strategy with the roulette wheel selection and the elitist steady state replacement. Two types of real coded crossovers and two levels of mutation were performed. The elitism based GA is used to emphasize the best chromosomes in the genetic operations. Elitism increases the performance of GA rapidly because it keeps the best found solution through the succeeding generations and prevents losing it. There are many genetic parameters are needed in the standard genetic algorithm, such as the population size, the crossover probability, and the mutation rate. The parameters employed in our proposed GA for predicting epitopes tertiary structure are: population size N=200, the selected population M=30 (elitist chromosomes) to apply the GA operators, and the crossover probability is equal to 1. • 7. Voter Turnout Research Paper Elections are an important part of creating a legitimate state. They allow us to have a say in how decisions are made in a government. However, the voter turnout for an election does not have an effect on the type of regime that will develop in a state. It does not matter if the election is in an authoritarian government or a democratic one, the regime does not have a large impact on the turnout of voters. What matters in voter turnout is whether the citizens believe in the regime. If they feel that the state is legitimate then they are more likely to vote. Also, if the voters believe that their vote counts and is not a wasted vote then you are more likely to have a larger voter turnout. For example, the International Institute for Democracy ... The Fourteenth Amendment Of The Constitution The Thirteenth, Fourteenth, and Fifteenth Amendments are a really big part of the Constitution for slavery and about the equal rights in the United States. The government created the thirteenth, fourteenth, and fifteenth amendment to allow racial equality in the United States by freeing all of the slaves, giving them the right to get citizenship, and the right to vote. I will be talking about each Amendment and how they were formed and also why. The Thirteenth Amendment of the Constitution says, Section 1. Since the Thirteenth Amendment was passed in America than that means that all of the slaves are free and get the same rights as any usual white man. Thirteenth amendment makes slavery and involuntary servitude, in America it is illegal to have slaves. President Andrew Johnson helped get the thirteenth amendment ratified by three fourths of the state in 1865. To pass a law the state legislatures have to vote more than three fourths or else the law does not become a law. It also takes a long time for all of the legislatures to vote on it because they have to talk about it and agree or disagree with each other and that could become a very long time before the law gets approved or not. They ended slavery after the Civil War and the Senate proposed the thirteenth amendment in 1864. Slavery was the main reason that the Civil War started. Abraham Lincoln started it by trying to put the Thirteenth Amendment into the Constitution. Kentucky is the only state that still uses the Union and declined to emancipate slaves. Kentucky is one of the states that allowed people to have slaves and have people work for them legally. The thirteenth amendment is the subject of controversy. • 9. Reflective Models Used by Nurses Essay Reflective Practice Introduction: Reflection its self is looking into personal thoughts and actions. For nurses this would mean looking at how they performed a particular task taking into consideration their interaction with their colleagues and other members of staff, patients and in some cases relatives This then enables the nurse to assess their actions and thought processes. There are various frameworks of reflection that one could choose and the examples used for this work is by Gibbs (1988), Johns (2000) and Benner (1982) Gibbs: Gibbs reflective cycle encourages one to think in order about the different areas of an experience. It is presented in a number of questions that the reflective practitioner ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... John s model (1995) for structured reflection adopts a humanistic view seeing the nurse and patient as equal partners in creating the environment for care . Dawn Freshwater, Christopher Johns. (1998,2005) It gives the user many more questions to answer instead of letting the practitioner find their own way from section to section of the model. The Model: How could I handle this better in a similar situation? What would be the consequences of alternative actions? How did my actions match my beliefs? How do I feel about the situation? Has this changed my ways of knowing? A model of structured reflection (10th version) Johns, 1995. As one can see this method of reflection is rather prescriptive asking many questions but maybe this idea helps some practioners reflect without missing anything they perceive as being important. To engage in such a deep level of reflection requires the personal and daily practice of the nurse to undertake this commitment for ontological development of one s self. A model of structured reflection (10th version) Johns ( 1995). Benner: Benner is a nursing theorist who came up with a specific framework. • 10. Psychosocial Theory And Erikson s Pychosocial Development... Psychosocial Development Theory Erik Erikson postulated eight psychosocial stages, an innovation to the five stages of development of Dr. Sigmund Freud. Each of the psychosocial stages are present at birth but only begin to unfold according to the childrens ecological and cultural upbringing. Each stage is marked by a psychosocial crisis that needs to be resolved so that the individual can move to the next stage of development (Heffner, 2014). The developmental task for the preschoolers in this theory is to achieve a sense of initiative and overcome sense of guilt. Erikson believed that children in this stage begin to plan activitites, make up games, and initiative activities with others. In this theory, parents and other care takers take ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Piaget believed that children are like little scientists and that they actively try to explore and make sense of the world around them. He developed a stage theory of intellectual development that includes four distinct stages: sensorimotor stage, preoperational stage, concrete operational stage and formal operational stage. In his stages especially the second stage which is the preoperational, the child rises above simple sensory experiences. Words can be used as symbolic representations of objects and events. Children in the preoperational stage can be egocentric. They cannot distinguish between themselves in the place of others. At this stage, the child does not seem to be capable of certain logical operations and the child thinks that more things are alive than an older child or adult would. Further, because the child is egocentric, there is a tendency to blame oneself for the event (Crain, 2011). With this, Piaget believed that children learn through pretend play but still struggle with logic and taking the point of view of other people (Cherry, 2016). Piaget theory and its concepts is applicable to this study because thru this theory, the researcher was able to develop play activities which involves cognitive, affective, and psychomotor to enchance the childrens potential and improve their ... Count the Costs is a collaborative project between a range of organisations that, while representing a diverse range of expertise and viewpoints, share a desire to reduce the unintended costs of the war on drugs. The Count the Costs project aims to highlight the negative impacts of the war on drugs in seven key policy areas: Development and Security; Public health; Human Rights; Stigma and Discrimination; Crime; The Environment; and Economics. The project calls upon world leaders and UN agencies to quantify the unintended negative consequences of the current approach to drugs, and assess the potential costs and benefits of alternative approaches. (Count the Costs, 2012) Outlining the Problem In 2008, the Executive Director of UNODC, Antonio Maria Costa, affirmed there is indeed a spirit of reform in the air, to make the conventions fit for purpose and adapt them to the reality on the ground that is considerably different to the time they were drafted. With the multilateral machinery to adapt the conventions already available, all we need is: first, a renewed commitment to the principles of multilateralism and shared responsibility; second, a commitment to base our reform on empirical evidence and not ideology; and thirdly, to put in place concrete actions that support the above, going beyond mere rhetoric and pronouncement . • 12. Literary Analysis Of Persepolis Taking place in the late 1970 s, Marjane Satrapi s Persepolis exemplifies a profound illustration of the county of Iran, including aspects of its people and political structure. Unlike a conventional composed novel, the story of Persepolis is expressed through both textual and visual representation; otherwise known as a graphic novel. Through the experiences of the ten year old character Marjane, the reader is exposed to historical events, movements, crises, and motives that occurred within Iran. Furthermore, the novel has gained much praise in its portrayal of emotions that occurred through the people of Iran. Although there has been tremendous support of the account of Marjane, there have been a few critics of the novel, attacking its overall literary value. For instance, New York s Ithaca College student paper called The Ithacan, slammed the role Persepolis had on the literary society. In fact, they went as far to say that the novel ...is worth broaching but its literary value, in terms of building vocabulary and furthering comprehension, falls short. An absurd statement, to say the least. Not only is Persepolis of literary value, it is a glimpse into the past. It allows the reader to understand the various conflicts that the people of Iran were facing. Through the account of Marjane, the audience is exposed to elements of Iranian history, gender roles, religion, and political fluctuation. The story of Marjane opens during a fundamental time period of Iranian history, a period that consisted of the Islamic Revolution. As stated earlier on in the novel, this revolution was the force that caused the Shah to flee from Iran in the year of 1979. Like many others in Iran during this time, Marjane and her family found no interest in the Shah. During his reign, the Shah showed signs of diluting Iran s value of a constitutional monarch, and instead moved the country towards an absolute monarchy. Additionally, with the U.S peddling the Iranian oil supply, many Iranians felt betrayed by the Shah, as he became a so called puppet for the U.S. Because of this, his popularity slowly plummeted, and an uprise began within the country. This uprise, is then shown through Marjane s perspective. Therefore, through ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 14. Piglet And Hypoglycemia Hypoglycemia is an expression used to describe a below average glucose level. Due to young age, piglets have trouble walking and feeding off their mother (or sow) to get essential nutrients. One of these essential nutrients is glucose (or sugar). This nutrient is essential because it give the animal energy to become mobile. When born piglets already have low levels of glucose; however, the animal body is supposed to compensate by using the low glycogen reserves located in the piglets liver. The glycogen reserves are supposed to give the piglets a sufficient amount of glucose until the piglets are able to move towards and to feed off the sow. The piglet is dependent on the sow for energy provided by the lactose in the sows milk; however, if the piglet is deficient in not getting enough lactose to maintain the piglets energy, the level of the piglet s energy will suffer from Hypoglycemia because... PRINZ [Public Relations Institute of New Zealand] (2009) defines PR as The deliberate, planned and sustained effort to establish and maintain mutual understanding between an organisation and its publics. This essay will deconstruct and critically examine this definition of public relations in relation to PR theories. These theories being Systems Theory, Relationship Management and Excellence Theory will be examined and applied to campaign examples. This will give a comprehensive understanding of the theory s meanings as well as relationships with aspects of the PRINZ definition of PR. To understand PR theories however, the term publics must first be addressed. Gordon (2011) describes publics as potential or actual audiences connected to various messages. (Rawlins, 2006) furthers this statement by stating that publics ...can be employees, shareholders, political leaders, consumers, etc. and ...are often segmented even further by demographics, geographics, or psychographics. (p.133). Grunig and Repper (1992) expand on this saying publics are self formed and identify organisations for attention, essentially meaning publics are groups of people linked by a common interest or problem. PR practitioners according to (Gordon, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

After reading the article Geeks in Toyland by Brendan Koerner, I realized the importance of organizational culture to connect the customers to the company. This article talks about the corporate culture and leadership style of Soren Lund (Mindstorms product director). He was asked to come up with a new version which is not a slightly improved model, but to create something completely different. Each company has their own corporate culture. During my research, I came across a similar article that talks about the corporate culture and leadership style of America s most successful company, Apple Inc. The Fortune magazine article How Apple Works: Inside the World s biggest startup by Adam Lashinsky explains how big company such as Apple Inc. really operates. By the time he s finished, you ll probably still want to buy Apple products, but you may not want to work for the firm. Apple s products have always been created by small teams working closely together, with no outside intervention (apart from the management s directions). This was the case when it was first founded in 1976 with only three people, and is true today with almost 25,000 people employed. In Apple s early existence, these teams consisted of talented people hand picked by the senior management (particularly Steve Jobs). Apple s organizational structure is relevant to the research article Geeks in Toyland as it demonstrates Steve Jobs role at Apple, and the importance of various departments (which ... In ancient Egypt and Greece, dreaming was considered a supernatural communication or a means of divine intervention whose messages that could be reveled by people with certain powers. Sigmund Freud came up with two techniques to get information on his patients unconscious minds. One of Freud s techniques that he came up with was interpreting dreams. Dream interpretations have formed a large part of Freud s method of understanding mental life; he also believed that subdued materials often surfaced in dreams in a symbolic form. Dreams can be confusing, frightening, or wonderful, which reveals our innermost secrets. Thesis Statement: Dreams can reflect human emotions, and other experiences, like our deepest desires, hopes, fears, and fantasies. If we interpret our dreams, it may help us understand ourselves better and help us solve our problems. II. History of Dreams: Dream interpretations were first documented on clay tablets that dated back to 3000 to 4000 B.C. People in primal societies were unable to distinguish between the dream world and reality. The people in these societies didn t see the dream world as an extension of reality; instead they saw it as powerful world. This path of dream interpretation also leads back to the ancient Egyptians with the first written record of dream interpretation around 1350 B.C. • 21. The Pantheon Research Paper The Architectural Significance of the Pantheon The Pantheon is a magnificent temple that was built during ancient roman times and still stands today. The design of the Pantheon and the significance of it are directly related to a sun dial and understanding the way the sun works with the structure. It was originally built by Agrippa around 27 BC but was partially destroyed by a fire. During Hadrian s reign, he rebuilt the Pantheon enhancing its architecture along with its meaning. This temple was dedicated to all the Gods of Rome and used as a place to worship them. Hadrian also held judicial court in the temple at times. One reason for this is the walls of the Pantheon reach up to 20ft thick making it impossible for windows. The specific construction of the Pantheon also made it impossible for light to enter at the entrance when the front doors opened. No direct sunlight can enter from the door in the course of the whole year, owing to the northward orientation of the entrance doorway (Hannah). This was unusual for roman temples, as they normally were set to face the south so the sun could illuminate the temples year round. One explanation of the northern orientation is that the project of the building was to some extent inspired by a particular type of sundial, which captured the sunlight within a shadowy interior (Harris). With the Romans giving great significance to the sun and the detailed position and measurements made in building the Pantheon, researchers have made many findings to give reason that the Pantheon was some form of a sun dial or astronomical instrument. At the autumn equinox [September 22n d], the spot of sunlight touches the interior springing of the upper hemisphere. Then at winter solstice [December 22nd] the spot of sunlight moves up to a maximum height in the roof over the entrance. Thereafter, it moves down, touching again the base of the dome at the spring equinox [March 21st]. From the summer solstice [June 21st] the beam turns back , re crossing the entrance between the end of August and the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Soldiers in Iraq are fighting under a dangerous environment where the next step could be their last, as loyalists of Saddam Hussein s regime attack them relentlessly. He has been taught that a man should be above all women in every aspect. Harpo eventually learns that he cannot control Sofia, he tries to beat her at first; but she ends up hurting him badly. These coded instructions are genes. Abnormal changes in genes can turn normal ovarian cells to cancer cells. Normal cells grow and divided to make new cells. New cells are made as the body needs them to replace injured or dying cells. When normal cells grow old or get damaged, they die. Cancer cells don t do that. The changes in genes causes cancer cells to make too many copies of themselves (National comprehensive cancer network,2015). Cancer cells make new cells that aren t needed and don t die quickly when old or damaged. Most times cancer cells grow and divide enough to form a mass or tumour. The first tumour formed by the overgrowth of cancer cell is known as the primary tumour. Ovarian cancer is the most deadly type of gynecologic malignancy in the United States (Morgan et al.,2013). While there are multiple histological subtypes of ovarian cancer, epithelial cell types are the most common variant and therefore contribute greatly to the morbidity and mortality attributed to ovarian malignancy (Quirk and Natarajan,2005 ).
