How Did Theodore Roosevelt Influence On Japan
Apart from the Japanese student, Roosevelt is influenced by his cousin, President Theodore
Roosevelt. Teddy Roosevelt is shown to be very sympathetic towards the Japanese but
considered the Japanese unable assimilate, and this was noticed by Roosevelt. Social Darwinism
was the influencing thought during Roosevelt s youth as a factor in how Roosevelt would view
the Japanese Americans. Apart from the his youth, Roosevelt would have direct involvement as a
member of President Wilson s cabinet where Roosevelt would be exposed to Wilson s racism and
the nation of Japan s growing threat in the Pacific as Japan s imperialistic desires begin to conflict
with America. It is during this period that Roosevelt would see Admiral Alfred Mahan and Homer

The Destruction Of Pompeii
Given the historical significance of the devastation of Mount Vesuvius destruction of Ancient
Pompeii, the cultural existence of this lost city lies buried within the remains of the ancient people
and the context it brings through new data. To gain context of the lives lost, much of their history
must be explored through the remains of Pompeiis lost people by further observation of lesions on
the bones and through analysis of dental caries or indicators of quality of health. Recent
excavations and research of Pompeian skeletons through technological advancements has revealed,
in greater detail, the health of the people such as, with computer tomography scans they indicated
they had almost perfect, white teeth from low sugar diet[s], rich in fruit and vegetables and fluorine
from their water (Fessenden 2015).... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

determine access to resources, and a possible spread of diseases that may have impacted the

there had been a struggle of power. As such, the goal of this paper is to determine the context
within the life of Pompeii s lost people, what and who were lost by identifying their importance
and degree of self sufficiency before the devastation of Mount Vesuvius, and possibly what was lost

Essay on The Impact of African-American Sitcoms on...
The Impact of African American Sitcoms on America s Culture
Since its start, the television industry has been criticized for perpetuating myths and stereotypes
about African Americans through characterizations, story lines, and plots. The situation comedy
has been the area that has seemed to draw the most criticism, analysis, and disapproval for
stereotyping. From Sanford and Son and The Jefferson s in the 1970s to The Cosby Show (1984)
and The Fresh Prince of Bel Air in the 1990s, sitcoms featuring black casts and characters have
always been controversial. However, their significance upon our American culture cannot be
disregarded. During the 1950s and 1960s, 97% of the families were Caucasian. In the first five years

It was criticized for negative stereotyping. Louise Jefferson was like an old south Mammy , and
George, although rich, was always the butt of someone s joke, whom no one really respected.
The difference between the earlier produced Sanford and Son and The Jefferson s was that The
Jefferson s was based around a strong father figure compared to the drunken old man in Sanford
and Son who was not ever there for his children. The Jefferson s, although initially more racist
like Sanford and Son, changed with the times and became less racist. As the show went on, there
were signs of less stereotyping. Louise lost her afro and started speaking better, and George
became less racist in his attitudes. This change reflected the less strained race relations in the early
1980s.
The Cosby Show was one of the biggest hits on television. It was about an African American
upper middle class black family. The Huxtables lived in a fashionable neighborhood. The dad,
Heathcliff, was a well respected doctor, and the mom, Clair, was a successful attorney. Their only
son, Theo, was an underachiever, and the oldest daughter, Sondra, was a college student at
Princeton. Their middle daughter, Denise, tested her parents patience frequently, but they always
loved her. Rudy, the baby of the family, had a wonderful, entertaining childhood. All of the
Huxtable kids were loved and steered clear of serious trouble. They never really had to worry about
money.

Hawaiian Islands Honu
The Honu and their Importance to the Hawaiian Islands
Over one hundred million years of existence, capable of traveling through the oceans of the world.
One creature so magnificent that it is able to live up to 70 years old and weigh between 200 to
500 pounds. This creature is the majestic Hawaiian green sea turtle. Although they are found
throughout the world, Hawaiian green sea turtles are distinctly different from other green sea turtles
(NOAA Fisheries par. 4). They travel to the Northwestern Hawaiian Islands to nest and then travel
to the main Hawaiian Islands to feed. Such a unique creature is very important to the Hawaiian
Islands. Hawaiian green sea turtles play an important role in the ecosystem, the economy, the
culture, and the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Since they are capable of living for lengthy amounts of time, their diet is very simple because of
the availability of their food. All green sea turtles that reach adult hood are herbivores that
primarily consume sea grasses and algae. Juvenile green sea turtles, on the other hand, are
carnivores primarily consuming on both plants and animals such as crustaceans, sea grasses,
and tubeworms ( Green Sea Turtle National Wildlife Federation par. 9). Through research, it is
said that green sea turtles are able to consume about 275 different species of seaweed. To help
them cope with this diet, they have micro flora living in their large intestine to breakdown the
cellulose that is indigestible (NOAA Fisheries par. 6). Green sea turtles reach their sexual
maturity between 25 35 years old. However, the length of reproductively can vary ranging from
about 17 23 years. As soon as they become fertile, they return to the nesting beaches of the
Northwestern Hawaiian Islands to lay their eggs from every two to three years. They will deposit
three to six clutches per nesting season with about twelve days in between (NOAA Fisheries par.
10). Each clutch can contain about 100 eggs that will take 60 days to incubate. Once they hatch
and reach the water, they rarely return to land. They instead feed on the seaweed and crustaceans
that are off shore. Green sea turtles inhabit the shallow waters until it is time for breeding season.
They are very particular in finding a nesting spot that they will often travel many oceans to reach
their ideal nesting

The American Constitution, A Staple Of Modern Democracy.
The American Constitution, a staple of modern democracy. The shining jewel of how a country is
supposed to be run effectively. In the 220+ years that this country has been founded, the powers of
the federal government have grown exponentially. The Framers, influential white men from the
original 13 colonies(minus Rhode Island), consisted of those who wanted a strong central
government and those for strong state rights. Together, through a series of compromises, the
Framers created the original unamend Constitution. Once sent out to the states for ratification, it
was sent back to include the civil liberties that every citizen has, The Bill of Rights. After four
years, the Constitution was ratified, and became the law of the new... Show more content on

The Articles failed to lead the country through war debts, multistate and international trade
agreements, and Shay s Rebellion. Like any war, the American Revolution was very expensive to
have, especially on their own turf. The country borrowed money from the richer states in the form
of war bonds, and when it was time to pay up, the country did not have the money, and defaulted on
repayment. Congress did have the ability to create coin, but no ability to back it up. Plus, without
having access to tax (the states kept rejecting Congress s proposal), there was no way to raise
revenue. After the war was over, multiple states made trade agreements with different, and at times,
conflicting countries. This was a dangerous game, because as states in the same unified country, a
foreign entity may see one state trading with a country that they do not associate with, and another
state may miss out on that trade opportunity that might benefit the country as a whole. The catalyst
that brought the entire Articles down is Shay s Rebellion. 1500 farmers marched to the
Massachusetts capital to ensure the state does not close their mortgages, and the state government
was too broke to muster up an army. After the other states refusal to help, Massachusetts had to use
private funds to pay an army to put it down. All in all the Articles of Confederationcreated a weak
central government, which led the Founders having to come together(O Connor 32 34).

distracting but a confusing title Contributing to the ANPDF: The United Nations in Afghanistan
working as one . The term working as one is different than delivering as one and one UN. Other
than the title, the word working as one is not promised anywhere in this paper at all. Against the
title of this paper, and its contents, the UN rejects full alignment with the ANPDF and it clearly
states that the UN may partially align with the ANPDF. The paper argues that the UN works

However, the paper does not mention any principle of delivering as one which is: One Program,
One Budget, One Leadership, One Office and One Voice, but it claims that the agencies are
working: strategically, collectively, transformatively, efficiently, which are still not part of
delivering as one or one UN. This paper is described as a basis for dialogue to enable the UN to
work more as one , however, page 3 12 explains the SDGs and the standard work of UN. These 9
pages have nothing to do with the concept of delivering as one or anything related to the title and
reason of this paper. Page 13 and 14 is about the existing strategy and the first and second page is
an introduction. Over around two pages of this paper is a dialogue and argument. More than
half of the paper is copy and the past from the UN documents such as SDGs, UN procedures, and
standards. Adding these irrelevant details in this paper is primarily to increase the size of
reading and distract the readers. This paper acknowledges that the launch of the ANPDF, and H.E

how appreciation affects interest rates and exchange rates
1.Explain the how appreciation affects interest rates and exchange rates. How does this influence
commodity currency? Should we return to a gold standard? Why or why not?
Business dictionary defines an exchange rate as the rate at which one currency can be
exchanged for another. In other words, it is the value of another country s currency compared to
that of your own. If you are planning a trip to travel abroad this is something that needs to be
calculated along the trip, because in order to purchase goods or services while aboard one would
need to purchase the local currency. Just like the price of any asset, the exchange rate is the price
at which you can buy that currency. If you are traveling within Europe, for example, and ... Show

For instance, if the dollar depreciates relative to the euro, the exchange rate rises. When the
dollar depreciates relative to the euro, the dollar becomes more competitive because the price of
American goods when exchanged to euro will be cheaper leading to a larger American export.
On the other hand, European countries that denominate its goods and services in Euros will have
lost competitiveness to the dollar. The price of European products will thus become more
expensive in America. A currency appreciates as a result of increased demand for that currency on
world markets. Its value in the world market increases. This increase in demand can occur for
several reasons which include: When a country s exports are high, the buyers of these exports need
its currency to pay for those exports. Also when the country s central bank increases interest rates,
people will want that currency to deposit in the banks to earn that higher interest rate. The higher the
interest rate the stronger the currency.
Gold standard Between 1870 and 1914, there was a global fixed exchange rate. Currencies were
linked to gold, meaning that the value of a local currency was fixed at a set exchange rate to
gold ounces. This was known as the gold standard. This allowed for unrestricted capital mobility
as well as global stability in currencies and trade. However, with the start of World War I, the gold
standard was abandoned. To help combat the Great Depression, faced

Analysis Of Second Sex By Simone De Beauvoir
In Simone De Beauvoir Second Sex, the author aims to define what it is be a woman. It is difficult
to pin down the definition of something that has a multitude of meanings to different people. The
author makes the claim that although someone is female they may not identify as a woman. In an
effort to define women, men have made the comparison against themselves. The essence of woman
through the eyes of men is purely a sexual being. The Man views himself as the superior being
while only viewing women in terms of personal benefit. De Beauvoir goes on to state a man can
imagine himself without a woman yet, a woman cannot imagine herself without man. Not much has
changed when it comes to the core argument that on a subconscious level men view... Show more

Weinstein would frequently tell the women that all actresses would partake in those type of
behaviors therefore, they should as well. Men who sexually harass women choose to prioritize
their desires over the potential long term trauma the victim will most likely endure. It also brought
to light another abuser, the bystander. Men of all ages stand by as inappropriate jokes are made at
woman s behalf. In the Weinstein scandal, numerous celebrities came forward stating they heard
about rumors involving weinstein but never the full extent. Too often people, men in particular, are
willing to protect the abuser because it is easier to ignore the situation altogether. Harvey Weinstein
had female assistants who would bring actresses to the disgraced producer knowing he would put
the young actress in an uncomfortable position. Downplaying the oppression of women will only
make it more difficult for there to be true gender equality. Gender equality can also be expanded
to the many genders that people choose to identify with today. All genders other than the Man are
currently seen as second class citizens. Once the subconscious gender oppression ceases to play a
role in our work and social environments, genders can finally be equal. That means jokes are not
made based on gender, pursuit of happiness should not be dictated by gender, sexual desires will

What Role Do Women Play In A Utopian Society
Utopia Meant for Everyone
The equality between men and women is something that has been desired to be integrated in
society by many. Woman have been the inferior sex for many decades. They were always seen
as men s property. They would be given away for marriage without their consent at the age of 13
and their received less education than the men. (Cartwright, par. 5 7) With time, it changed, they
were allowed to get better educated and thanks to the fights and protests, they gained rights. Yet,
even today with all the efforts to change the situation and all the progress we have made, the case
remains the same. Women are still considered inferior to men. Society is lead by men and their
beliefs. In North America, one of the social goals is to live the American dream and the dream is
in favor of a man s view of a perfect world. It doesn t take into consideration that this dream isn t
what both sexes have envisioned. This paper will argue that a man s utopia is a woman s dystopia.
This argument will be proven by the roles women played in utopian literature and in real modern
life.
First, I will describe the origin of the concept of utopia and how it evolved over the years. Then I
will compare two utopian based literary works to prove how older ... Show more content on

During the second World War, when all the men were sent off to the front lines, women were told
that it s their patriotic duties to fill in for the men in the public and private workforce sectors.
(Foust and Bradshaw, par. 7) That was when it was socially accepted for women to work. After the
war, when the men came back, the women were supposed to go back to the kitchen and serve their

Why Environmentalists Hate Capitalism
Environmentalist and Capitalism
The discussion we had in class and in the document is asking, Why do Environmentalists Hate
Capitalism? and How Do Humans Affect the Environment? Well let s start off with the
Environmentalist; they love to make the world a much safer and cleaner world. They think that
Capitalist want to do more and take up more , making gas more expensive , taking more trees
down to build more of what we need and mostly not need, It s our wants and our needs. However,
the Environmentalist feels that the Capitalist want to take down trees for our own good. No, that is
not true, we try to cut down trees and make buildings for the Environmentalist but they think it s for
our own good.
In 2020, the world will end because right now, China is falling slowly, and we mostly rely on
China. Capitalist need to focus more on what they are doing with the resources and not use as
much as they usually do. For example, instead of a whole acre we could use half of it. We could
possibly own less cars, most of us have two or three cars. We can cut down to one to make it easier
on everyone else and the world. But the Capitalist want money, they don t really care about the
environment. They do whatever they can to make money and try to please people more so they
can get more money. If all Capitalist care about is making more stuff, capitalism may be the best
system ever. But if you want to save the planet from environmental catastrophe our current
economic system is a dead end. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

about the rules and acts a certain way. This could also be a group of people. Social disorganization
could be seen as a type of perspective on deviance and crime. Social disorganization is very
common in lower class men because they are less likely to do good in school. Functionalist is the

of the ninety percent? Whether you call it a merger or an acquisition, each firm has its own
culture, and the smaller entity, if substantially different from the one around it, will continue to
survive as a discordant subculture, unless an effort is made to integrate all the players. Frequent
mergers leave little opportunity for establishing a value added firm culture. The surviving firm s

scientist, illustrates the unproductive nature of environmentalists and the people firsts or anti

similarities. He satirizes the language that each group would typically use against the other. It is
concluded that people in today s world are all too literal. When everything said is taken to heart, it
is difficult for the real issues to ever be resolved. Wilson uses satire and the over exaggeration of

Often throughout the essay, she talks about how women make up Wellesley College who want to

who are entering the college as women, just to gain entry into this environment. Although it seems

The Importance Of Nature For Youth Development
Imagine a boy who has never crunched leaves underfoot as he winds down a forest trail, or a girl
who has never followed frogs along a marsh. Imagine children who have watched Finding Nemo
but never have seen a living fish in a pond, or have read Charlotte s Web but never seen the
morning dew settle on a spider s filaments. Unfortunately, our imaginations do not need to stray
very far to envision lives of children cut off from nature, solely surrounded by concrete, metal and
bricks. Many Canadian educators intuitively recognize nature experiences as beneficial for youth,
and various sources of information their own experiences, poetry, movies or scientific studies seem
to support such intuitions. Despite the growing cultural awareness of the importance of nature for
youth s development, there seems to be a continuing emphasis on indoor, disembodied forms of
education in classrooms, that are overly focused on abstract cognition at the expense of emotion,
movement, and other processes rooted in body environment interactions. Why not reconsider the
significance of nature as a valuable object of learning, and reshape the current outdoor and nature
narrative throughout our curriculum? Based on my own personal experience, Chambers

Despite living in an urban setting, I grew up nature. I made dollhouses out of birch bark inhabited

A Summary Of La Ville Lumiere
La Ville Lumiere
The dark specter of the cool night spread across the sky, while the alluring orange color of the
sunset disappeared as nonchalantly as it came. A mixed medley of harmonious sounds streamed
through the night from the violins. Music echoed from every street corner, awakening life,
springing off the Eiffel Tower to Notre Dame and floating through the Arc de Triomphe. Soon,
the people, scattered like trees in a desolate country, grew into a huge crowd like a lush green
woodland. Noises of people shrilling, teenagers laughing and adults murmuring transpired from
the crowd. The lads held their demoiselles hands lost in their world of immortal love. Eventually,
everyone slipped into their dancing shoes. The aromas rose from the hot sizzling gourmet cuisine
and cigarette smoke to quickly permeate the air. The streets shone with dazzling lights as bright as
daytime, as the astounding Eiffel Tower took form in its enticing and glowing festive lights of
amber, standing in its own elegance, like a gem on Champ de Mars. La Ville Lumiere... here it is;
Paris, the splendid metropolis, the home of the lovers and the city that speaks the language of love.
Paris is the capital metropolis of France and an absolute destination that strikes everyone s minds
when they talk about France. There is no one who could tread the streets of Paris and not feel
incredibly alive. The visit there is worth it, for what one experiences can t be conveyed through

Fear The Walking Dead Persuasive Essay
This past Sunday, AMC graced us with the premier of Fear the Walking Dead, a spin off of the
amazing, The Walking Dead TV series. While I am not a huge fan of spin offs in general, I must
say that I was impressed.
The following may contain spoilers, so if you haven t had the chance to see the premier, I would
highly recommend doing so before reading further.
So why should you watch Fear the Walking Dead? Because I said you should! And the fact that the
first episode will have you hooked, well, if you are a Walking Dead fan that is.
So where does Fear the Walking Dead fit into The Walking Dead universe? Well that s easy, it
takes place prior to the events of The Walking Dead, and on the west coast. More or less the
beginning of zombie infection.
In TWD, Rick wakes from a coma, to an unrecognizable world. Essentially a zombie apocalypse
where food and supplies are hard to come by. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Instead of the completely depressing feel of TWD world, we are given a much more active,
slightly less depressing feel in FTWD. Why do I say slightly less depressing? Well the fact that
the first episode opens in an abandoned and run down church which is a haven for drug users,
might be a good reason. Or, the fact that our opening character, Nick, a junkie, witnesses the girl
he was with, eating someones face off. I could be wrong. Throughout the episode, we get to learn
about Nick s somewhat dysfunctional family and hints of the zombie apocalypse starting to unfold.
There are also hints that the drug that Nick has been using, is causing people to become zombies.
Of course, nobody understands what is going on yet, not even Nick. Everything starts to be put in
perspective when Nick s drug dealer, Calvin, attempts to kill him, only to get killed himself. After
fleeing the location and then returning with his mother, Madison, and step father, Travis, Nick
finds that Calvins body is missing, at least until they try to

THE MERIT CORPORATION 1
THE MERIT CORPORATION Family owned and operated for three generations, the Merit
Corporation manufactured and sold children s furniture. John Kirschner, Merit s CEO and
grandson of the company s founder, was actively involved with every aspect of the firm s
operations. Now, as he was considering early retirement in the next few years, he began to think
about his legacy for the future. Merit s headquarters and the biggest of its three manufacturing
plants were located in an industrial park 10 miles outside of Boston. Merit shared the large six
story building with several small firms, having its corporate offices on the second and third floors.

Kirschner, who had attracted the above individuals based on his compelling vision that they
would be doing something completely different and of vital importance, believed that the group
would be most effective if given extensive freedom and encouragement. The only things he
required from it was a biweekly progress report, so that the executive committee could be kept
abreast of its activities, and a monthly financial report. Group members were free to work as
they wished; as long as they focused their energies on coming up with viable ideas for durable,
multipurpose children s furniture products those consumers would consider a good value. The
only structure he imposed was having one person report directly to him. Thus, he appointed
Kane the group head, in large measure because Kane was the first to be hired, but also because
he had made such a positive impression on him. When the eight people began work at Merit,
they did not know each other. Given Kirschner s rather broad mandate, they also did not know
what they would be expected to do on a daily basis. They soon discovered that they had different
ideas not only about what they should do, but also about how they should approach their work.
Those like Jacobson, who had worked in large corporate environments in the past, were the most
outspoken about how the group should approach its task. He was a proponent of a more systematic
approach. Kiris was

Atomic Mass Of Pure Aluminum Lab Report
Introduction This experiment had two objectives: 1) to determine the atomic mass of pure
aluminum, and 2) to determine the masses of aluminum and zinc in an unknown aluminum alloy.
To fulfill both of these objectives, both pure aluminum and the unknown alloy were reacted with
HCl in order to produce a chemical and H2 gas. The reaction of aluminum and zinc with HCl are
found below:
2Al(s) + 6HCl(aq) вџ¶ 2AlCl3(aq) + 3H2(g)
2Zn(s) + 6HCl(aq) вџ¶ 2ZnCl3(aq) + 3H2(g) Both metal samples would dissolve into liquid HCl,
producing a H2 gas which would then displace grams of Hв‚‚O into a previously weighed beaker.
The increased mass of the beaker was then used to determine the amount of moles of H2, which was
subsequently used to determine the moles of aluminum reacted. Using the first reaction shown
above and molar mass ratios, the atomic mass of the pure aluminum sample was found, fulfilling
the first objective. A provided formula in the lab manual was then used to convert moles of H2 into
a mass fraction of aluminum in the unknown alloy, completing the second objective. Results for
both reactions were measured and calculated with the use of provided formulas found in the lab
manual.
Observations and Procedure Four trials were conducted in this experiment. The first two trials were
set up to ultimately record the experimental molar mass of aluminum, and the last two trials were
set up to record the percentages of aluminum to zinc in an unknown alloy. The purpose of two trials

Apparently graphics card are the new big thing in this generation. Graphics are being used in
everything such as laptop, computer, and also now in cars. Car companies like Toyota and NVIDIA

One of the biggest problem of NV1 is that its rendering was quite different than a typical polygon
rendering. Then in 1996, for the first time NVIDIA unveils its first Microsoft, DirectX drivers
with support for the Direct3D, which is an API used to render 3D graphs where performance is
very critical. During that year NVIDIA didn t release any new products till 1997. After 2 years
they finally introduced RIVA 128, the first 128 bit 3D processor. It received an OEM
acceptance, and only in four months shipped more than one million units. It is one of the first
consumer graphics processing unit to integrate 3D acceleration to traditional 2D and video
acceleration. The acronym for RIVA is Real time Interactive Video and Animation accelerator.
The NV1 chips was designed for a fundamentally different type of rendering technology, but the
RIVA 128 was designed to accelerate Direct3D. During this time period everything changed. For
the first time Microsoft selected NVIDIA to provide a much better graphics processors in Xbox

The Future Is Green Architecture
Architecture is vital function for all parts of society. Without architects people would have to
rethink how they enter buildings, fearing roofs caving in or structural beams giving out. The
rigor of an architect s training leaves these possibilities and worries an unlikely prospect, not
considered in the day to day in a person s events. Architects make both functional and beautiful
structures that are appealing to the eye, as well as useful to the world. The world wouldn t be
able to live in functional cities without the qualities of the architect s skills. The world would
have to worry about a door frame falling on their heads as they walk through the door for their
daily workday, into the building that houses their jobs, their pay based on the efficiencies of the
buildings layouts. Hopefully a person office is the one in the corner with the view, built to capture
the sights outside the window and the prestige of the position, all thought of and created by an
architect. Architects have an extremely specialized task to perform. They have to make sure that a
building is stable in all conditions and useful and also that it looks appealing to senses, capturing
the light at dawn, changing with the light at dusk. Architects do great things and create even
greater things, often unnoticed, but worthy of mention. Architects also have very fun creative jobs
where they can go to a rigorous job and make sure everything is going as planned and the building

Kahneman and Amos Tversky set out to disassemble an entity of economic theorists, Homo

important phases. At first he and Tversky did a series of experiments in which revealed twenty or
more cognitive biases. They defined these as unconscious errors of reasoning that distort judgment.
Characteristically paired with cognitive biases were anchoring effects which are the tendencies to
be influenced by irrelevant numbers we are exposed to. In the second phase of his career, he and
Tversky showed that when making decisions under uncertain conditions people do not behave...

He theorized experienced well being compared to remembered well being which is the way that
most researchers relied on to explain happiness. From this he discovered that experienced happiness
was caused by different things that caused remembered happiness. The main component in
remembered happiness dealt with the duration. Commonly in memory a person can remember a
situation in which they were supposedly happy in that moment when it turns out when they
remember it they were not. For example a surprise guest shows up to a person s house that day. In
the moment they are delighted to see that person. But later on when reflecting on that day the
person may realize that the surprise visitor actually messed up their plans for the day which makes
them upset. Though much more research is needed in hedonic psychology, Kahneman s concepts

Changing Demographics Of The American Male
For the hindered American male, frustВrated with the changing demographics of the nation and
grasped by the conviction that his days on top are arriving at an end, there might be no type of

Singing men in red development after singing men in blue. When they meet in the focal point of

Ways People Are Alike Analysis
People go through life thinking that they understand every person, every situation, and every
lifestyle. The fact of the matter is, nobody understands what anyone is going through unless they
have experienced it themselves. As children we are taught that everyone is equal and that we
should treat each other as such. I am very fortunate to have grown up with the most amazing and
supportive parents who had always found a way to make sure I was happy and healthy. Even
though not everyone had the same experiences I did, as a child I thoughtthat everyone had both
parents and always got the new toy or had new clothes for school because I thought that
everyone being equal meant that everyone was as well taken care of as I was. Now obviously as I

as lucky. I feel like trying to understand how other people feel during certain situations would be

Background:
Living in a remote area has always been thought to have negative influences on the individual.
There are 35 % of the total population in Australia living in rural area(Phillips, 2009).Rural areas in
Australia and all over the world are not geographically isolated and disadvantaged only but also
culturally and economically deprived which has great consequences on the health status of the
population. The main two factors that have a major effect on rural health are socioeconomic status

The Australian government realized that there is something different about rural health that
requires special actions. This realization was the reason for the development of rural health

factors including political and community reactions and therefore the outcome of the policy is

The Post soviet countries have begun to build themselves from the ground up, with the hope for a

inadequate. It had been standard to view newly democratic nations turned over and became more in

I begin my research communicating the idea of stability is the absence of open conflict among
elite groups. Among all elite s there are many power struggles, but to keep these conflicts among
themselves their needs to be like mindedness, this in fact is a type of censorship to the public. To
elaborate more on this, Nils Wessell describes from his journal called, Limited Freedom of the
Press A Discussion that in, today s sense that Freedom of the press has been lost also reflects the
absence of open conflict among elite groups. Only such conflict creates limited freedom of the
press. (Wessell, 46) This is an act of an authoritarian government; the reaction that it takes outside
this elite group on the public is an act of self preservation. In today s Russia according to Wessell
there is this full on authoritarian regime and it has begun to eliminate freedom of speech, and its
adversaries. (Wessell, 46) I take these points that he makes as a description of a beginning of a
relationship between society and its government. Democratic as Russia may seem to be
perceived, the movers and shakers of that nation actually have too much power in the hands of
few. I see the media, as an essential tool for a society to have a democracy, but in the contrary the
media can be an inappropriate tool to deceive the public if controlled few. Societies choices would

Generation After Generation, In Different Countries Of
Generation after generation, in different countries of the world, there has always been different
styles of bodily expression. Dance is a special form of art which movement of the body creates.
One of the most delicate types of dance is ballet, a form that evokes great emotion. For Martha
Graham, ballet was not only a dance: it was a way to express a fear or happiness with gestures
created by the body. Scholars have recognized Graham as having made revolutionary changes in
dance: in form, subject matter, and theme. Martha Grahamwas one of the most influential figures in

Martha knew that practice was the basis of all good dance and, therefore, a fundamental.
Graham s intense belief in practice aided in forming such a unique technique. To practice means
to perform, in the face of all obstacles, some act of vision, of faith, of desire, Practice is a mean of
inviting the perfection desired. (Martha Graham) It is said that Martha worked on her falls for
fifty years, and they grew more beautiful and complex each time she performed them. This
technique is not the only one she worked to perfection. However, it provides a quality example to
her devotion to the art of dance. Graham is considered one of the major and most influential
dancers in America. Graham s craving for dance gave her the strength and determination she
needed to become one of the best. Her incredible emotions changed the dancing world, not only in
her style as a dancer, but in her innovative style of choreography (182).
Graham was born in Allegheny, Pennsylvania, on May 11, 1894 (Pratt 8). She was the daughter
of Jane Beers and George Graham and the oldest of three daughters. She also had a brother named
William Henry Graham, but he died of scarlet fever at eighteen months. This devastated the

Food In The Elizabethan Era
Food of the Elizabethan Time
People s food of the Elizabethan time period depended on their social status and their financial
abilities while malnutrition, diseases, and deficiencies made it harder for them to find food. The
rich and the poor both had high risks of deficiencies because of the lack of sanitary foods and
places and lack of nutrients. The food consumed varied depending on wealth and social class. In the
Medieval period meat was a sign of wealth which carried over into the Elizabethan era. New
inventions and the rapidly growing industries contributed into the new food of this time.

the food was brought home and cooked usually over an open flame by baking, boiling, salting,

Food preparation and appearance was most important to the rich, especially Elizabeth s cooks.

On March 22, 1925 Tennessee passed the Butler Act. Making it unlawful in public schools to teach
any theory that denies the story of divine creation as taught by the Bible. But to teach instead that
man was descended from a lower order of animals. It was in the small town of Dayton, Tennessee
where a 24 year old fresh out of college , high school substitute named John Scopes taught the
theory of evolutionto a biology class. This was just two months after the passing of the Butler Act.
John Scopes was then charged with teaching evolution in public school. The proceeding trial will
not only become a battle between science and religion but it will bring together two of the most
prominent attorneys of the early 20th century. Clarence Darrowand

Afterwards we will describe the main foreign market entry modes that Zara used in their process
of internationalization. We will also focus on the factors that affected the decisions of Zara when
choosing the right entry modes. Ultimately, we will discuss the structures and controls that Zara
used to improve their business strategy. The whole report will focus and give an overview of the
strategy that Zara used to become successful, as well as it will help us get a better understanding of
the processes that occur inside the company.
Internationalization of Zara:
The internationalization of Zara began in 1988 with the opening of the first store in Oporto,
Portugal. Though before Zara started to focus on foreign markets, they first needed to become
successful on the domestic market. The internationalization of Zara can be divided into three parts:
domestic market, slow expansion and aggressive expansion (Mo Z., 2015). To understand the
internationalization process of Zara better, we will discuss each phase of the process in detail.
Domestic market (1975 1987):
Through the period of 1975 1987, Zara expanded its network of retail stores in many big cities of
Spain that reached a population grater than 100,000 inhabitants (Ghemawat and Nueno,

There are most definitely ways that my business could be exposed to breach of warranty claims
do to the nature of the product. My company could be subject to both an expressed and implied
breach of warranty if my product fails to fulfill my written stated requirements on both quality and
effectiveness of my product, a selectively inhibiting hair growth product. Due to the fact that my
product would be a one of a kind on the market, I would create an expressed warranty to ensure
potentially skeptical consumers that my product does indeed work, potentially even creating an
expressed warranty that includes a money back guarantee. Misrepresentation could also be claimed

Do Not Go Gentle Into That Good Night
Do Not Go Gentle Into That Good NightFinn Andersson Dylan Thomas Do Not Go Gentle Into
That Good Night by Dylan Thomas explores death and how those facing it should fight for their
lives because death is a heartbreaking subject to him. The writer is addressing his father and
pleads him to resist the power of death as it would be devastating if the father was to die from the
writers perspective. Throughout the poem, Thomas writes about different traits of men. Some
aspects include wise, wild, good and grave which helps create a poem that covers all aspects of a
person. The first stanza is addressed to old men and how they should not simply slip away and die
quietly, they should fight death until the end. Poetic techniques... Show more content on

Dying of the light is also a symbol for death. The second stanza is addressed to wise men who
know they cannot hide from death and it s inevitability. Poetic techniques used in this stanza are
metaphors, rhyme, symbols and repetition. The line words had forked no lightning is a
metaphor because words cannot actually fork lightning. This line suggests that the men hadn t
made an impact on the world, nor accomplished all they wanted to in life. Rhyming is also a
technique used in every line, right and night are rhyming words used, and they in the second
line rhymes with day in the previous stanza. So night , light and right rhyme, and day and they
rhyme, hence the ABA ABA rhyming pattern. The third poetic device used in the second stanza
is symbolism of dark in the first line, which represents death. Repetition of do not go gentle into
that good night is repeated every second stanza as the ending line, night in the final line also
symbolises death. The third stanza is addressed to good men who regret their choices in life and
think of how much they could have achieved, if they had only had lived longer. Poetic techniques
used in this stanza are personification, symbolism, repetition and rhyme. In the second line, we
see the use of personification when Thomas writes of how their frail deeds might have danced in
a green bay , referring to the good men . This line paints a picture of how the frail

Website Analysis Paper
INTRODUCTION
The level of usability of a website is determined by how simple it is for a visitor to use and
explore a website (Stokes, 2013, p. 95). Eataly is a company that sells Italian products online and
in their various locations which also feature restaurants and activities that all relate to Italian food
and products. The purpose of this paper is to assess the level of usability of the Eataly website and
how four specific design topics, navigation, search options, professionalism, and breadcrumbs,
impact the usability.
NAVIGATION/CONSISTENCY
The navigation of a website determines how site users move about the site and how they get to the
page that contains the information that they are seeking. (Stokes, 2013, p. 95). An example of ...

The color scheme of the site is consistent across the site and is in line with the company s logo.
The site also doesn t have any features that would distract or intrude while using the site such as
ads or popups that ask for customer info. Another note is that links on the site that enable users
to sign in or check their order popup in an overlay of the current page when clicked instead of
taking users to a different page. An example of this is that when something is added to a shopping
cart the site doesn t force the user off the current page to go to the cart and the cart can also be
viewed on any page without leaving the current page.
BREADCRUMBS
A breadcrumb is a visual design element on websites, usually featured just below the header, that
shows users of the site where they are on the site and allows for them to be able to navigate the site
faster since it shows them previous page links (Domagalski, n.d.).
Breadcrumbs are utilized in the sites design on every page besides the home page. The
breadcrumbs are located right below the far left side of the sites header but are not sticky like
the header. The usage of breadcrumbs allows users of the site to quickly see which page they are
located on and see which pages led them to it and go back to those pages quickly. An example of
this is on the delicate olive oil page that shows the following breadcrumb: Home Extra Virgin Olive

Axolotls Research Paper
Show Me the Money The Cost of Axolotls
Axolotls are one of the many salamanders and amphibians that you can choose to have as a pet.
These pets are fascinating because they can provide a lot of great learning experiences for your
family in terms of taking care of special needs for this animal. Plus your kids are going to have a
lot of fun seeing the animal lose their limbs after a predator attack and then being able to grow
them back later on.
But before you pick out this pet to bring home to your family, you need to find out how much do
axolotls cost. This helps you to determine if this salamander is the right fit for your family or if
you should go with a different animal to start. Here are some of the first things that you should
consider when finding out how much do axolotls cost.

There are a variety of sources you can use in order to purchase one of these amphibians and each
will have a slightly different price. Consider the size of the animal as well as the reputation that
comes with the store you plan to purchase from. You may want to do some research to see which
store is the best and which ones will give you the best animal for the price you are paying.
Setting up their new homes
Another thing to consider with how much do axolotls cost is their new home. You have to get
them a new tank to live in with fresh water all of the time. These amphibians like to have clean
water and since they are kind of messy eaters, you will need to clean the tank all of the time.
Consider the costs of water as well as how big the tank needs to be to hold your new pet. You can
also put in some toys or landscape features to make the amphibian feel more at home Talk to a
professional to figure out which items will go well with this salamander.

Fig 1.3 Centralized topology network For this reason, MANETs are also called infrastructure
less or non infrastructure wireless networks. The term ad hoc implies that this network is a
network established for a special, often extemporaneous service customized to specific
applications. MANETs enable wireless networking in environments where there is no wired or
cellular infrastructure; or, if there is an infrastructure, it is not adequate or cost effective. The
absence of a central coordinator and base stations makes operations in MANETs more complex
than their counterparts in other types of wireless networks such as cellular networks or wireless
local area networks (WiFi networks). In MANETs, routing and resource management are done in a
distributed manner; that is, all nodes coordinate to enable communications among themselves.
This requires each node to be more intelligent so that it can operate both as a network host for
transmitting and receiving data, and as a network router for forwarding packets for other nodes.
There are currently two type of mobile wireless networks. The first is known as the infrastructure

communicates with the nearest BS that is within transmission range. As the mobile goes out of

Reddit Share this article on Pinterest Expert Author Joe Barbieri There are many options for
buying a group of securities in one product. The most popular ones are mutual funds, segregated
funds and exchange traded funds. What they have in common is that these products are an easy
way to buy a group of securities at once instead of buying each security individually. The fund
can also proportion the securities so you the individual investor does not have to. There are two
main classifications for what type of fund you can purchase in terms of costs. It is important to
know how these costs work so you can avoid paying too much for this convenience. These
products differ in terms of how they are administered, access to the products and their costs. Active
Versus Passive Investing Before getting into which of the products are suitable for you, there are
some aspects that need to be considered so that you understand what the variations are among the
products. Active investing is when someone (a portfolio manager) picks the stocks that are in the
fund and decides how much of each one to hold (the weighting).

The Food Industry Is Good At Selling Half Truths
Many people have had that moment where they have stared at themselves in the mirror and felt self
conscious about their appearance or felt that they needed to change something about themselves to
feel socially accepted. Physical appearance tends to influence many children, teenagers, and adults
in their eating habits. More than that people have to realize that obesity does not only impact their
physical appearance, but it is a health hazard. Between 1977 and 2000 Americans have doubled
their intake of sugar, which has led to a global epidemic of obesity. The food industry is good at
selling half truths since they are making America an obesogenic environment. The sugar industry
and large food companies are the prime culprits behind America s obesity and diabetes epidemic.
According to former President Bill Clinton, We ve got to change the way we produce and consume
food. Instead, we re leading the way on producing the world s deadliest diet and exporting it to other
countries. Healthy eating activist want the government to tax sugary sodas, mandate expanded
nutritionlabels and restrict portion sizes (Kiener, Robert). To increase the amount of healthy people
in this country, we need to take small steps. Therefore, the government should start by regulating
foods with high sugar content. What is obesity? According to the Merriam Webster dictionary, it
states that the definition of obesity is, A condition characterized by the excessive accumulation and
storage of fat

Ice Hockey Narrative
Early on the third morning of his family s winter vacation, Josh was awaken by his older brother
Aaron. Yo, dude, come on we are going to be late for hockey! He shouted as he shook him awake.
Josh woke up with a groan looking over at his clock which read 7:15 a.m. He sat up slowly rubbing
his eyes. Your clothes are at the end of your bed and your gear is downstairs. Hurry up his brother
said before walking out giving him some privacy to change.
Josh got up and started putting on his clothes for hockey as fast as his still half asleep body would

wanted nothing to do with him. Josh figuring it was a joke, showed up to Lilah s house the next

himself back together. He spent countless hours crying in his room asking, begging god what made
him deserve this. What made him deserve the breakup through her brother let alone through a text

Teddy Roosevelt is shown to be very sympathetic towards the Japanese but considered the Japanese unable assimilate, and this was noticed by Roosevelt. Social Darwinism was the influencing thought during Roosevelt s youth as a factor in how Roosevelt would view the Japanese Americans. Apart from the his youth, Roosevelt would have direct involvement as a member of President Wilson s cabinet where Roosevelt would be exposed to Wilson s racism and the nation of Japan s growing threat in the Pacific as Japan s imperialistic desires begin to conflict with America. • 3. The Destruction Of Pompeii Given the historical significance of the devastation of Mount Vesuvius destruction of Ancient Pompeii, the cultural existence of this lost city lies buried within the remains of the ancient people and the context it brings through new data. To gain context of the lives lost, much of their history must be explored through the remains of Pompeiis lost people by further observation of lesions on the bones and through analysis of dental caries or indicators of quality of health. Recent excavations and research of Pompeian skeletons through technological advancements has revealed, in greater detail, the health of the people such as, with computer tomography scans they indicated they had almost perfect, white teeth from low sugar diet[s], rich in fruit and vegetables and fluorine from their water (Fessenden 2015).... As such, the goal of this paper is to determine the context within the life of Pompeii s lost people, what and who were lost by identifying their importance and degree of self sufficiency before the devastation of Mount Vesuvius, and possibly what was lost culturally in the region of ... • 4. Essay on The Impact of African-American Sitcoms on... The Impact of African American Sitcoms on America s Culture Since its start, the television industry has been criticized for perpetuating myths and stereotypes about African Americans through characterizations, story lines, and plots. The situation comedy has been the area that has seemed to draw the most criticism, analysis, and disapproval for stereotyping. From Sanford and Son and The Jefferson s in the 1970s to The Cosby Show (1984) and The Fresh Prince of Bel Air in the 1990s, sitcoms featuring black casts and characters have always been controversial. However, their significance upon our American culture cannot be disregarded. During the 1950s and 1960s, 97% of the families were Caucasian. In the first five years of the ... Louise Jefferson was like an old south Mammy , and George, although rich, was always the butt of someone s joke, whom no one really respected. The difference between the earlier produced Sanford and Son and The Jefferson s was that The Jefferson s was based around a strong father figure compared to the drunken old man in Sanford and Son who was not ever there for his children. The Jefferson s, although initially more racist like Sanford and Son, changed with the times and became less racist. As the show went on, there were signs of less stereotyping. Louise lost her afro and started speaking better, and George became less racist in his attitudes. This change reflected the less strained race relations in the early 1980s. The Cosby Show was one of the biggest hits on television. It was about an African American upper middle class black family. The Huxtables lived in a fashionable neighborhood. The dad, Heathcliff, was a well respected doctor, and the mom, Clair, was a successful attorney. Their only son, Theo, was an underachiever, and the oldest daughter, Sondra, was a college student at Princeton. Their middle daughter, Denise, tested her parents patience frequently, but they always loved her. Rudy, the baby of the family, had a wonderful, entertaining childhood. All of the Huxtable kids were loved and steered clear of serious trouble. They never really had to worry about money. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

One creature so magnificent that it is able to live up to 70 years old and weigh between 200 to 500 pounds. This creature is the majestic Hawaiian green sea turtle. Although they are found throughout the world, Hawaiian green sea turtles are distinctly different from other green sea turtles (NOAA Fisheries par. 4). They travel to the Northwestern Hawaiian Islands to nest and then travel to the main Hawaiian Islands to feed. Such a unique creature is very important to the Hawaiian Islands. Since they are capable of living for lengthy amounts of time, their diet is very simple because of the availability of their food. All green sea turtles that reach adult hood are herbivores that primarily consume sea grasses and algae. Juvenile green sea turtles, on the other hand, are carnivores primarily consuming on both plants and animals such as crustaceans, sea grasses, and tubeworms ( Green Sea Turtle National Wildlife Federation par. 9). Through research, it is said that green sea turtles are able to consume about 275 different species of seaweed. To help them cope with this diet, they have micro flora living in their large intestine to breakdown the cellulose that is indigestible (NOAA Fisheries par. 6). Green sea turtles reach their sexual maturity between 25 35 years old. However, the length of reproductively can vary ranging from about 17 23 years. As soon as they become fertile, they return to the nesting beaches of the Northwestern Hawaiian Islands to lay their eggs from every two to three years. They will deposit three to six clutches per nesting season with about twelve days in between (NOAA Fisheries par. 10). Each clutch can contain about 100 eggs that will take 60 days to incubate. Once they hatch and reach the water, they rarely return to land. They instead feed on the seaweed and crustaceans that are off shore. Green sea turtles inhabit the shallow waters until it is time for breeding season. • 6. The American Constitution, A Staple Of Modern Democracy. The American Constitution, a staple of modern democracy. The shining jewel of how a country is supposed to be run effectively. In the 220+ years that this country has been founded, the powers of the federal government have grown exponentially. The Framers, influential white men from the original 13 colonies(minus Rhode Island), consisted of those who wanted a strong central government and those for strong state rights. Together, through a series of compromises, the Framers created the original unamend Constitution. Once sent out to the states for ratification, it was sent back to include the civil liberties that every citizen has, The Bill of Rights. After four years, the Constitution was ratified, and became the law of the new... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The Articles failed to lead the country through war debts, multistate and international trade agreements, and Shay s Rebellion. Like any war, the American Revolution was very expensive to have, especially on their own turf. The country borrowed money from the richer states in the form of war bonds, and when it was time to pay up, the country did not have the money, and defaulted on repayment. Congress did have the ability to create coin, but no ability to back it up. Plus, without having access to tax (the states kept rejecting Congress s proposal), there was no way to raise revenue. After the war was over, multiple states made trade agreements with different, and at times, conflicting countries. This was a dangerous game, because as states in the same unified country, a foreign entity may see one state trading with a country that they do not associate with, and another state may miss out on that trade opportunity that might benefit the country as a whole. The catalyst that brought the entire Articles down is Shay s Rebellion. 1500 farmers marched to the Massachusetts capital to ensure the state does not close their mortgages, and the state government was too broke to muster up an army. After the other states refusal to help, Massachusetts had to use private funds to pay an army to put it down. All in all the Articles of Confederationcreated a weak central government, which led the Founders having to come together(O Connor 32 34). ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 7. The United Nations In Afghanistan Working As One Analysis of the UN paper Contributing to the ANPDF:
The United Nations in Afghanistan working as one This is a 15 pages paper with around 8300 words. It has a promising, an attracting, distracting but a confusing title Contributing to the ANPDF: The United Nations in Afghanistan working as one . The term working as one is different than delivering as one and one UN. Other than the title, the word working as one is not promised anywhere in this paper at all. However, the paper does not mention any principle of delivering as one which is: One Program, One Budget, One Leadership, One Office and One Voice, but it claims that the agencies are working: strategically, collectively, transformatively, efficiently, which are still not part of delivering as one or one UN. This paper is described as a basis for dialogue to enable the UN to work more as one , however, page 3 12 explains the SDGs and the standard work of UN. These 9 pages have nothing to do with the concept of delivering as one or anything related to the title and reason of this paper. Page 13 and 14 is about the existing strategy and the first and second page is an introduction. Over around two pages of this paper is a dialogue and argument. More than half of the paper is copy and the past from the UN documents such as SDGs, UN procedures, and standards. This paper acknowledges that the launch of the ANPDF, and H.E President Ghani expectation for the UN system to deliver as one under the government s leadership. • 8. how appreciation affects interest rates and exchange rates 1.Explain the how appreciation affects interest rates and exchange rates. How does this influence commodity currency? Should we return to a gold standard? Why or why not? Business dictionary defines an exchange rate as the rate at which one currency can be exchanged for another. In other words, it is the value of another country s currency compared to that of your own. If you are planning a trip to travel abroad this is something that needs to be calculated along the trip, because in order to purchase goods or services while aboard one would need to purchase the local currency. Just like the price of any asset, the exchange rate is the price at which you can buy that currency. If you are traveling within Europe, for example, and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... For instance, if the dollar depreciates relative to the euro, the exchange rate rises. When the dollar depreciates relative to the euro, the dollar becomes more competitive because the price of American goods when exchanged to euro will be cheaper leading to a larger American export. On the other hand, European countries that denominate its goods and services in Euros will have lost competitiveness to the dollar. The price of European products will thus become more expensive in America. A currency appreciates as a result of increased demand for that currency on world markets. Its value in the world market increases. This increase in demand can occur for several reasons which include: When a country s exports are high, the buyers of these exports need its currency to pay for those exports. Also when the country s central bank increases interest rates, people will want that currency to deposit in the banks to earn that higher interest rate. The higher the interest rate the stronger the currency. Gold standard Between 1870 and 1914, there was a global fixed exchange rate. Currencies were linked to gold, meaning that the value of a local currency was fixed at a set exchange rate to gold ounces. This was known as the gold standard. This allowed for unrestricted capital mobility as well as global stability in currencies and trade. However, with the start of World War I, the gold standard was abandoned. To help combat the Great Depression, faced ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 9. Analysis Of Second Sex By Simone De Beauvoir In Simone De Beauvoir Second Sex, the author aims to define what it is be a woman. It is difficult to pin down the definition of something that has a multitude of meanings to different people. The author makes the claim that although someone is female they may not identify as a woman. In an effort to define women, men have made the comparison against themselves. The essence of woman through the eyes of men is purely a sexual being. The Man views himself as the superior being while only viewing women in terms of personal benefit. De Beauvoir goes on to state a man can imagine himself without a woman yet, a woman cannot imagine herself without man. Not much has changed when it comes to the core argument that on a subconscious level men view... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Weinstein would frequently tell the women that all actresses would partake in those type of behaviors therefore, they should as well. Men who sexually harass women choose to prioritize their desires over the potential long term trauma the victim will most likely endure. It also brought to light another abuser, the bystander. Men of all ages stand by as inappropriate jokes are made at woman s behalf. In the Weinstein scandal, numerous celebrities came forward stating they heard about rumors involving weinstein but never the full extent. Too often people, men in particular, are willing to protect the abuser because it is easier to ignore the situation altogether. Harvey Weinstein had female assistants who would bring actresses to the disgraced producer knowing he would put the young actress in an uncomfortable position. Downplaying the oppression of women will only make it more difficult for there to be true gender equality. Gender equality can also be expanded to the many genders that people choose to identify with today. All genders other than the Man are currently seen as second class citizens. Once the subconscious gender oppression ceases to play a role in our work and social environments, genders can finally be equal. That means jokes are not made based on gender, pursuit of happiness should not be dictated by gender, sexual desires will not influence political or ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 10. What Role Do Women Play In A Utopian Society Utopia Meant for Everyone The equality between men and women is something that has been desired to be integrated in society by many. Woman have been the inferior sex for many decades. They were always seen as men s property. They would be given away for marriage without their consent at the age of 13 and their received less education than the men. (Cartwright, par. 5 7) With time, it changed, they were allowed to get better educated and thanks to the fights and protests, they gained rights. Yet, even today with all the efforts to change the situation and all the progress we have made, the case remains the same. Women are still considered inferior to men. Society is lead by men and their beliefs. In North America, one of the social goals is to live the American dream and the dream is in favor of a man s view of a perfect world. It doesn t take into consideration that this dream isn t what both sexes have envisioned. This paper will argue that a man s utopia is a woman s dystopia. This argument will be proven by the roles women played in utopian literature and in real modern life. First, I will describe the origin of the concept of utopia and how it evolved over the years. Then I will compare two utopian based literary works to prove how older ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 11. Why Environmentalists Hate Capitalism Environmentalist and Capitalism The discussion we had in class and in the document is asking, Why do Environmentalists Hate Capitalism? and How Do Humans Affect the Environment? Well let s start off with the Environmentalist; they love to make the world a much safer and cleaner world. They think that Capitalist want to do more and take up more , making gas more expensive , taking more trees down to build more of what we need and mostly not need, It s our wants and our needs. However, the Environmentalist feels that the Capitalist want to take down trees for our own good. No, that is not true, we try to cut down trees and make buildings for the Environmentalist but they think it s for our own good. In 2020, the world will end because right now, China is falling slowly, and we mostly rely on China. Capitalist need to focus more on what they are doing with the resources and not use as much as they usually do. For example, instead of a whole acre we could use half of it. We could possibly own less cars, most of us have two or three cars. We can cut down to one to make it easier on everyone else and the world. But the Capitalist want money, they don t really care about the environment. They do whatever they can to make money and try to please people more so they can get more money. If all Capitalist care about is making more stuff, capitalism may be the best system ever. But if you want to save the planet from environmental catastrophe our current economic system is a dead end. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Whether you call it a merger or an acquisition, each firm has its own culture, and the smaller entity, if substantially different from the one around it, will continue to survive as a discordant subculture, unless an effort is made to integrate all the players. It is concluded that people in today s world are all too literal. When everything said is taken to heart, it is difficult for the real issues to ever be resolved. Sisterhood Is Complicaated Summary Critical Analysis of Sisterhood is Complicated by Ruth Padawer In her essay, Sisterhood is Complicated , Ruth Padawer illustrates complications and triumphs women and transgenders experience while living in the same society. Padawer goes into detail about how the women feel towards the transgenders and how the transgenders feel being in a college centered around women. Often throughout the essay, she talks about how women make up Wellesley College who want to have the greatest power and strength, by defying social norms and creating their own place to learn. This has been the motto of the college since its beginning, but now, there are transgenders who are entering the college as women, just to gain entry into this environment. Although it seems as if there wouldn t be a huge problem with this, it does go against the mandates created by the college. In this essay. Padawer explains these topics in a certain way,... There are many stories that come from personal accounts of students, but they tend to mix together. There are multiple examples that take away from the essay by making it hard to follow. To fix this problem, Padawer could give accounts from different people in the college, such as, how the President of the college feels or even get some opinions from the alumnus of the college. By doing so, this would break up the essay more and add varied types of examples. With that being said, it is also important for her to include some data or statistics that help the reader understand this essay on a deeper level. Imagine children who have watched Finding Nemo but never have seen a living fish in a pond, or have read Charlotte s Web but never seen the morning dew settle on a spider s filaments. Unfortunately, our imaginations do not need to stray very far to envision lives of children cut off from nature, solely surrounded by concrete, metal and bricks. Many Canadian educators intuitively recognize nature experiences as beneficial for youth, and various sources of information their own experiences, poetry, movies or scientific studies seem to support such intuitions. Despite the growing cultural awareness of the importance of nature for youth s development, there seems to be a continuing emphasis on indoor, disembodied forms of education in classrooms, that are overly focused on abstract cognition at the expense of emotion, movement, and other processes rooted in body environment interactions. Why not reconsider the significance of nature as a valuable object of learning, and reshape the current outdoor and nature narrative throughout our curriculum? A mixed medley of harmonious sounds streamed through the night from the violins. • 25. Atomic Mass Of Pure Aluminum Lab Report Introduction This experiment had two objectives: 1) to determine the atomic mass of pure aluminum, and 2) to determine the masses of aluminum and zinc in an unknown aluminum alloy. To fulfill both of these objectives, both pure aluminum and the unknown alloy were reacted with HCl in order to produce a chemical and H2 gas. The reaction of aluminum and zinc with HCl are found below: 2Al(s) + 6HCl(aq) вџ¶ 2AlCl3(aq) + 3H2(g) 2Zn(s) + 6HCl(aq) вџ¶ 2ZnCl3(aq) + 3H2(g) Both metal samples would dissolve into liquid HCl, producing a H2 gas which would then displace grams of Hв‚‚O into a previously weighed beaker. The increased mass of the beaker was then used to determine the amount of moles of H2, which was subsequently used to determine the moles of aluminum reacted. Using the first reaction shown above and molar mass ratios, the atomic mass of the pure aluminum sample was found, fulfilling the first objective. A provided formula in the lab manual was then used to convert moles of H2 into a mass fraction of aluminum in the unknown alloy, completing the second objective. Results for both reactions were measured and calculated with the use of provided formulas found in the lab manual. Observations and Procedure Four trials were conducted in this experiment. To elaborate more on this, Nils Wessell describes from his journal called, Limited Freedom of the Press A Discussion that in, today s sense that Freedom of the press has been lost also reflects the absence of open conflict among elite groups. Only such conflict creates limited freedom of the press. (Wessell, 46) This is an act of an authoritarian government; the reaction that it takes outside this elite group on the public is an act of self preservation. In today s Russia according to Wessell there is this full on authoritarian regime and it has begun to eliminate freedom of speech, and its adversaries. (Wessell, 46) I take these points that he makes as a description of a beginning of a relationship between society and its government. Democratic as Russia may seem to be perceived, the movers and shakers of that nation actually have too much power in the hands of few. I see the media, as an essential tool for a society to have a democracy, but in the contrary the media can be an inappropriate tool to deceive the public if controlled few. Societies choices would be based on controlled norms, where the definition of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
