Understanding the Cuban American Culture
Miami Florida has the biggest Latin population than any other city in the United States. The
majority of Latin s being of Cuban descent. Since the Cuban revolution there have been constant
waves of immigrating Cubans to Miami. The result has been a Cuban American society that has
created culture diversity within. In order to understand the Cuban American culture you must
understand its ethnic origin, politics, and the varying times of immigration.
CUBAS ETHNIC ROOTS AND ORIGINS
The Cuban population consists of a variety of ethnic origins. In the early days before the Spanish
inhabited Cuba the population was made up of 90% Taino speaking American Indians ho had
displaced even earlier inhabitants. Shortly after came the Spanish conquest. ... Show more content

Soviet economic and military support was crucial for Cuba. Soviet movements often aroused
strong disagreement from the United States. In 1962 the Soviet Union installed nuclear missile
bases in Cuba, the world stood at the brink of nuclear war as the U.S. government set up a naval
blockade of the island and demanded they remove the missiles. This was known as The Cuban
missile crisis.
Cuban Soviet relations slowly deteriorated as Soviet political, economic, and social policies were
liberalized in the late 80s. The Cuban government refused to modify its approach to social and
economic policy. In 1991 the Soviet Union dissolved and withdrew its troops and its economic
support. The already troubled Cuban economy suffered further from the loss of vital military and
economic support. With severe shortages, unrest and dissatisfaction growing, Castro declared a
special period in peacetime of food rationing and energy conservation. Shortages of food, fuel, and
medical supplies were intensified by the ongoing U.S. trade embargo in Cuba.
Aware of China s success with a more capitalistic limited market, Castro decided to experiment
with capitalism. In 1993, he granted Cubans limited freedom to open small for profit businesses
and allow foreign tourism, including U.S dollars. But economic reform bred demand for political
reforms. In 2003, Castro jailed many members from the Varela Project. A group who petitioned for
political reform,

Elizabethan Entertainment Research Paper
Entertainment in the Elizabethan Era There were many different forms of entertainment and
entertainers during the Elizabethan Era, or Shakespearean Age. Most well endowed families in
the Elizabethan Era were able to do a lot more in order to entertain themselves. This is especially
because they are not busy with the hard work and tasks that lower classes have to handle on a
daily basis. According to Dylan Shore, the elite class enjoyed themselves by throwing large feasts,
jousts, and banquets. The jousts that were thrown consisted of a competition with two opponents
who fought on horses with lances. Jousting was a very popular sport during this era, especially for
the elite. Banquets were thrown with five courses, each course being reasonably large and filling (
Entertainment in the Elizabethan Era). Because the elite class had access to more, as stated in a
BBC article, ...the invention of the printing press and spread of education meant that gentlemen
were part of an elitist culture involved in intellectual pursuits, such as reading the classics, studying
music, hunting, and hawking. ( Life in Elizabethan England ). They also danced and listened to
music, which was a form of entertainment that lower classes also engaged in ( Entertainment in the
Elizabethan Era ). Both the low classes and high classes were able to... Show more content on

Michael Zomber Research Paper
There are many ways to brush up on your history and some options are decidedly more
interesting than others. The average individual may not consider history as their favorite subject
in school, however, Michael Zomber might disagree. If you have spent any time in the antique
arms arena you will probably have heard of Michael Zomber. Unlike some antique collectors
Michael has devoted decades of his time and effort to the actual study and preservation of historic
items. Zomber does not merely collect items and protect their integrity as he preserves them he
goes much further than that as he joins forces with others who are just as passionate as he
is.Michael was born in Washington DC and considers the outskirts of Philadelphia to be his home.

Beauty Document Analysis
Beauty pageants show the positive of being thin, glamourous and what the perfect ideal
beautiful females should look like. Little Miss Sunshine shows that children also have a very
competitive idea of what is perfect and acceptable for children. Society and media along with
parents and peers show young children and young adults that being thin and beautiful is the only
acceptable norm in the world. Even though not all children or young adults are think and
beautiful they are still very beautiful. The world needs to show that all young children and young
adults are beautiful, no matter if they are think or not, parents and peers need to stop
discouraging young children and young adults to only be a certain way. All young children and
young adults should have support and encouragement regarding their bodies. Background The
topic of young children and young adults having body image issues is a topic that has been
around for a few year. Society as a norm prompts being young and beautiful. Personally myself as a

Comparing The Great Ancient Figures Of Ancient China And Rome
PowerPoint Script
Introduction
Good morning/ afternoon fellow Year Ten students, today I am presenting a presentation on why
Ancient History is a great riveting subject to do in your senior years of education. This will be
done through the comparison of two great ancient figures of ancient China and Rome. You will
learn how the history of the great s impact the modern society we see today, as Theodore
Roosevelt once said the more you know about the past, the better prepared you are for the future .

Spartacus
The first ancient figure I will be talking about hails from Ancient Rome and was one of the great
Gladiators of all times. This figure was a Thracian gladiator, little is known about his early life
before he became a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
(Next slide) Rome did not take Spartacus and his slave rebellion seriously, therefore fit line
troops were not sent out to fight the rebellion of gladiators and slaves. The Roman armies of four
forces that were sent out were outmanoeuvred and easily defeated. Spartacus won another three
fights before a new roman military force under the control Marcus Crassus was sent to deal with
the rebellious slave army. Eventually after long pursuits of battles, Spartacus was killed near the
headwaters of the Siler River in southern Italy, but his body was never found. Crassus then
crucified 6,000 rebellious slaves as a warning to others.
Qin Shi Huang
The next figure I will be introducing is a tyrant ruler from the China Dynasty. His father was the
king of the Qin state, and at the age of thirteen his father passed away. He was well educated and
at the age of 22, he took full control of his title as king. He had the ambition of wanting to master
all the other six Chinese states. This made him the leader of all of china, and eventually he
declared himself emperor. His real name was King Zeng.
(Ask question to audience) Does anyone know this Emperor? (Next slide)

phrase First emperor . At the age of 22, Huang recognised his ambition and built the first feudal and

The Effect Of Alzheimer s Disease On My Family
In the last year my great aunt was diagnosed with Alzheimer s disease along with many other
people worldwide. The diagnoses took my family by surprise because my great aunt had been so
healthy up until she started showing signs of this horrible disease. Naturally my family had so
many questions on what was to come and how this disease was going to affect my great aunt.
The doctors gave us many options and stacks of paperwork that was filled with research over the
disease. The statistics on the disease shocked me to the core. After reading this research, I had so
many questions that were left unanswered, but my biggest questions being why is this horrible
disease becoming more common? Is the disease genetic or hereditary? I had so many questions...

This means that roughly five million Americans are directly affected, not to mention, the family
members of the person diagnosed who have to care for their loved one. I know from personal
experience, that this disease takes a toll not only on the person diagnosed but on the family. The
family has to sit and watch this disease take the life out of their loved one with no way to help.
The effect this has had on my family is why I took it upon myself to do more research and find
more information. Alzheimer s Association states that deaths due to Alzheimer s Disease increased
sixty eight percent from the year 2000 to the year 2010. (Alz Association) That statistic baffles me
because I cannot help but wonder why this horrible disease is becoming drastically more common
with every passing second. The number of people diagnosed each year is not just increasing in
America but worldwide. The United States is actually not the leading country, but is close behind
Europe, where, Alzheimer Disease is most commonly found. This disease is less common in
Africa and India, but they still have a high percentage of people diagnosed each year. Alzheimer
s disease is known to primarily be found in people over the age of 65, so researchers believe that
the cases of the disease diagnosed are increasing due to population aging. Epidemiology of
Alzheimer s Disease states that worldwide population aging has become a phenomenon
especially when dealing with Alzheimer s disease. US Centers for Disease Control and
Prevention states that the ...the projected number of older people (65+) in the world is expected
to increase from 420 million in 2000 to nearly one billion by 2030... (citation) Researchers believe
that since the number of people over the age of sixty five is increasing drastically, that the number

Mold Experiment
Bread Mold Experiment
Mold is something that we often take for granted, as something that makes us have to throw the
bread away or the cheese smell bad.
Mold is, in fact, a fascinating organism which has had many different uses over the years and our
lives would not be the same without it.
Most of us know that food seems to become moldy more quickly in the summer than in the winter
when it is colder. Food in refrigerators seems to keep longer than food left out in the sun. Is this
true? Does temperature really affect the rate at which mold grows?
Mold grows quicker at higher temperatures. Companies pay large sums of money in maintaining
food refrigerated in house and on transport, so it is essential for them to know under what ... Show

Unraveling the Function of Disease-Related Gene
Creating cellular model has been a challenging task of a genetic engineer. However, cellular model
became a favorite model for biologists due to its inexpensive in generation and maintenance of
culture, avoid risk of losing any precious biological material and expedite the various inherent
intriguing biological mechanisms at first instance before testing for the in vivo application. Cellular
models also provide a great avenue for studying the disease mechanism and drug discovery. To
generate the cellular genetic model, TALENs with the reporters are transfected in human cell line
to induce targeted genome modification. Genetically modified mammals can serve as valuable
models of human genetic disorders, but the majority of disease associated alleles represent single
nucleotide replacement that lead to missense, nonsense, and silent mutations (Sauna and Kimchi
Sarfaty, 2011). Compared with other animal models, mice are preferred because of their small body
size, their fertilization cycle, and genetically close relationship to human genome. To unravel the
function of disease related genes and to understand the mechanism of disease progression, mouse
mutants were generated by pronuclear microinjection of TALEN mRNA targeted to the mouse
homologs of human disease genes into one cell embryos to generate novel Knockout and Knockin
mutants. Frontotemporal lobar degeneration (FTLD) is a common cause of presenile dementia
caused by the degeneration of neurons in frontal and temporal

Analysis Of The Movie The Bloody Chamber

Dr. Ewell
English 308W
November 15, 2016
The Bloody Chamber In the short story The Bloody Chamber by Angela Carter depicts a naГЇve
young girl who is also the narrator who marries a widow named Marquis. The girl is excited to
venture into the world of adulthood, but that excitement ceases when she discovers the horrifying
truth of her new husband. Her husband begins to display a side that she has never seen before and
what was supposed to be a fairy tale love becomes a story full of lust and violence. In this
unconventional damsel in distress tale, the narrator incorporates imagery, metaphor, and
allusion to portray sexual innuendo and male dominance the husband exerts on women. Right
before the narrator and Marquis, her groom is about to wed, he already started to display a dark
side of him though that thought was shrugged off for the time being. She had noticed that he
looked at her as if he was a connoisseur inspecting horseflesh (6), highlight the metaphor to
compare the bride to that of a tasty meat at the market. By inspecting her as if she was some kind
of object highlights Marquis preference for dominance over women and his violent sexual nature.
The narrator becomes the object of his fetish and as the horseflesh represents her body, it
becomes sexualized in his eyes. As Marquis is compared to that of a connoisseur, this elevates
him to a status where he becomes something of an expert in choosing the right kind of girl who is
pure in order for

Marks and Spencer can be a creditor in the sense that they provide finance options to their

Mr. Mead And The Police Car In The Pedestrian By Ray Bradbury
The characterizations of Mr. Mead and the Police Car in the story The Pedestrian draws a clear
distinction between our society and the futuristic society that the author, Ray Bradbury, intended
to create in his story. This allows the readers to better understand what the author s perspective
of a world where humans rely too much on technology is like. An example would be the
characterization of Mr. Mead as a weird person in the futuristic society because he enjoys
walking. This could be seen in Mr. Mead s conversation with the police, Walking, just walking,
walking? Yes, sir. Walking where? For what? Walking for air. Walking to see. Your address! Eleven

Mr. Mead can clearly be described as an odd ball in this society because he walks for the fresh air
despite the usage of Air conditioners and viewing screen, but his actions are normal in our
society and he would be described by the readers as normal. This makes readers better
understand the author s perspective on how people relied on technology such as Air
conditioners and viewing screen to the extent where they will not come out for a walk at all,
and that those like Mr Mead are weird in that society. Another example is the characterization of
the police car as a machine, programed to arrest humans with regressive behaviors. The
characterization is clear when the Police car ask Mr. Mead for his name, Your name? said the
police car in a metallic whisper (page 2) and when he told Mr. Mead that he is taking him To the
Psychiatric Center for Research on Regressive Tendencies (page 2). This makes readers picture a
world that relied on advance technologies, as robotic police cars are used to arrest people with
regressive behavior. Also explains that Mr Mead is considered to be regressive, and that machines
are starting to take over people s lives as everything seems to be controlled by

Aristotle on Justice
In this paper, I shall address two central contemporary criticisms of Aristotle s conception of
justice. These criticisms of Aristotle s account of specific justice have focused on two central
problems. First, Aristotle s insistence that all specifically unjust actions are motivated by
pleonexia Pleonexia can be understood as the desire to have more of some socially availablegood,
and is usually translated as greed or acquisitiveness.
Close . Second, Aristotle does not identify a deficient vice with respect to justice. This violates his
golden mean doctrine with respect to virtue. Without the identification of the deficient vice with
respect to justice, then justice must not be a virtue of character. Due to considerations of ... Show

Defending one s home, fighting against invaders, when they are attacking the state to preserve
one s family and friends is an example of the application of these qualifications on the virtue of
courage. Considering how this action affects the overall well being of others, we are
considering how the action is generally just. In sum, the distinction being made here is that the
same virtue can be seen all by itself, as a part of the character of an individual only, and where
the virtue is in relation to another person in a particular political community, and its effects on the
well being of others in that political community. We have the same state considered from different
perspectives. Aristotle says that justice is spoken of in two ways: as lawful and as fair. I will
discuss general justice first in order to distinguish it from specific justice. Generally speaking,
general justice is concerned with the common good of the community. In the Politics, Aristotle
refers to justice as being a communal virtue. Similarly, then, we shall say that virtue has a just
claim in the dispute, since [general] justice, we say, is a communal (koinoniken) virtue, which all
the other virtues necessarily accompany (Pol.1283a36 39 trans. Reeve [modified]). This communal
or relational aspect of justice shows up both in general and specific justice. I shall discuss the

The Importance Of Secret Identity Or Stolen Identity
Secret Identity or Stolen Identity
How many, in this group has a computer, phone, and/or a tablet? How many have a mobile
internet connection, or a local internet connection available for you to use? If you said yes to
any of those, then it is likely you have an email address, you have given your home address on a
website, entered credit card information, and possibly do online banking. Life is filled with hoops,
jumps, and seemingly impossible boundaries. However, when including technology, it allows an
extra vulnerability to you. Unfortunately, some of those vulnerabilities are directly related to
people with only one goal, to cause problems. In the growing world of technology, the ability to
steal personal information is becoming much easier than ever before. With society switching to the
cyber world as a more convenient way of life, it is imperative to take the proper methods for
protecting your information.
Before taking the proper methods, it s important to know what the criminal does to steal your
information. The criminal uses malware, short for malicious software, which is any form of
software being used against the user s permission. Forms of malware, such as ransomware,
spyware, and root kits are some you may heard of, but are only a portion of the tools used to steal
a user s precious information. A hacker can use his computerat all hours of the week to dig for

Reflection On How I Learn English
This semester, you helped me learn that English isn t just about writing, that it is about learning,
too. You taught me how to write an article reflection, like the one about how sleep deprivation can
cause damage to your health. You also taught me how to annotate articles like how eating too much
added sugar may be killing you. Another thing that I learned from you this semester was the
WODs. They helped me expand my vocabulary and make my writing more interesting. An
assignment we did this yearwas shakespearience. If you hadn t given us this assignment, then I
probably would never have read any plays by Shakespeare. least helpful assignment was
shakespearience because you never genuinely talked about his plays in class. You said we had to
read the books, but we never went over them in class. What if we had questions about the book?
You never took the time to check up on us to see how we were doing. The best and most helpful
assignment yo taught us was the one about Malala. It genuinely helped me(and the rest of the
class) understand what is happening to girls and women in third world countries. I understand
now the importance of education. People all around fight for what we have so easily. We take
for granted what we have and most of us don t know what is happening to others. So this lesson
about Malala taught me and hopefully the rest of my class to appreciate what we have. Nothing
that you taught us needs to be revisited. I understand mostly everything that has been learned this
semester, it just took me a lot of time to process it. My class last year, mostly did just personal
narratives or book reports. I just wasn t expecting you to be so hard on us, especially the first
semester. Although, you pushed my class and me to new limits, and I hope to do better the next
part of this school year.
As my teacher, I honestly think of you are a great teacher yet sometimes, you seem like you don
t care about us. For example, there was this one time in class when we were taking an assessment
and when I asked you for help, you just ignored me and looked away. Sometimes I wish you
would try to help us more on things we are struggling with instead of just not caring at all. Your
strengths are that you are very

Computer Security And Social Engineering
Computer Security and Social Engineering In terms of computer security, Social Engineering
refers to the psychological manipulation of people in order to access confidential information.
It is believed that it can be easier to trick people than to hack into their computing system by
force. Social engineers gather personal information or gain access to computers by exploiting
people s natural tendency to want to trust others and be helpful. Some methods that are used by
social engineers to gain information are via email, the internet or even by phone to trick people
into revealing sensitive information or get them to do something that goes against the company
s policy. Social engineering has been an effective method of committing fraud for centuries.
Recently, however, it has been used more and more to assist criminals in perpetrating crimes
that can net large sums of money. Without one social engineering method or another, most
current attacks would not be successful [11] . Employees are an organization s weakest link and
social engineering attacks are only limited by the creativity of the perpetrator, which relies on
the gullibility of people. In this paper we discuss some of the most common types of social
engineering attacks that are widely used. We will also cover how to defend ourselves from these
attacks and why these attacks work in today s society. By following the money trail, we ll also

The Green Party
Bernie Sanders fever is sweeping the across the country. After a credible showing in Iowa, he is
well placed to win New Hampshire. The most astonishing thing about this is that he has
managed to turn socialism from a taboo in American politics into a norm. His run and
prominence has led to 43 percent of Iowa caucus voters to self identifying as socialist (Scher
2016). The problem is that actual socialists are in some cases rooting against Senator Sanders.
His candidacy has led to a split amongst socialists, with some feeling that he is a bona fide
socialist while others feel is a socialist in name only (Scher 2016). As a whole, the parties that
would be considered socialist do not place well in elections. The Green Party, which is probably
the most well known party with socialist aims, had 469,627 votes in the 2012 election according
to the FEC. While not massive, it still dwarfs the totals of parties with the word socialist in their
name. Combined, they received a whopping 86,528 votes in 2012 (FEC). Many feel that Sanders

true socialist parties and policies, and could weaken the platform overall. Most socialist parties

Difference Between Forced And Arranged Marriages
The Difference between Forced and Arranged Marriages
My grandma loved telling stories about her life and experiences. However, the one she loved
telling most was about how she met our grandpa. It isn t your typical love story; he was on his
way to meet a woman that his parents had picked for him to wed. But while walking in an
alleyway, he saw my grandma. My grandma said that it was love at first sight for my grandpa.
Without a second thought, he pointed her out to his parents and said, I want to marry her . His
parents talked to hers, to follow their son s wishes. Her parents learned that he was well off
financially, and accepted the marriage proposal. My grandparents started the marriage off of
appearance and wealth. At the time of their marriage, she was sixteen and he was twenty. Though
their marriage was arranged by their parents, they did eventually fall in love and were both happy
within their relationship. Which got me wondering about the types of marriages that I see today
and how people find their spouse. How can a person marry a person they do not love?
According to Mary Ann Lamanna, Agnes Riedmann, Susan Stewart (2018), American society, has
shifted from institutional to companionate to individualized marriage . Institutional marriages
generally do not required love, but required the wife to obey her husband. Women started to find
their a voice within companionate marriage, where a woman can expect her husband to support
her in her pursuit of self actualization. However, the men are still the breadwinner and the women
are still the homemaker. The most common form of marriage today is individualized marriage,
where the roles between man and woman, breadwinner and homemaker, a state of are in flux.
Their roles within the marriage changes depending on their current situation (Lamanna et al.,
2018). With these types of marriages familiar to American culture, we often forget that other types
of marriages such as forced or arranged marriages exist, too. In some cultures, arranged marriages
are a common phenomenon. According to Gautam (as cited in Madathil Benshoff, 2008), more
than 90% of all Indian marriages are arranged . In an arranged marriage, two families have an
agreement where both

Charles Levalet s Reload Analysis
Charles Leval, better known as Levalet, revealed his piece entitled Reload in January of 2015
on public property in Paris, France. Created off site with black ink and paper, the piece was
taken to a previously chosen location to be pasted onto a 13th Arrondissement city wall when
completed; a unique characteristic of Levalet s method of delivery. Reload depicts three two
dimensional black and white figures seemingly attached by cords to objects protruding from the
wall. This play on dimensions proves to make his art come to life and, at the same time, suggests a
slight removal from reality, the latter being the main concept of this particular creation. When I first
caught sight of Reload, I immediately felt compelled to dig deeper into what... Show more content

Because of this, it is highly likely that Reload was meant to demonstrate our increasingly
technology dependent society; the somber air about the piece further expressing Levalet s
viewpoint on electronic addiction. The fact that Levalet never really reveals the purpose of his art,
choosing instead to simply post pictures on his website with no context, leaves endless room for
onlookers to wonder what each detail means, from color choice to body language. In prompting
people to discover the meaning behind his artwork by themselves, he further encourages civilians to
think on their own, without searching for the luxury of quick answers, something wireless internet
often provides. Understanding this dark side of modern culture, Levalet attempts to unravel society
from the cords of technology addiction without directly conveying his

My Volunteer Experience
For my volunteer experience I chose to volunteer at the Boys and Girls Club in Shelby. There I
was able to experience first hand, child development and how so many factors can impact a
child s life. Through this experience I was able to nurture my love for children and understand
why I chose this volunteer experience. Throughout I will explain what I did there and how I
have changed because of this experience. I decided to volunteer at the Boys and Girls Club
because of my love of children. I have always grown up in a large family with many siblings so I
think that fostered my love for younger children and when I entered college and got interested in
psychologythat just helped me decide even more what I wanted to do. I decided to get more
interested in children and psychology after I took a class in child psychology and learning how
a child develops. Through that class I learned about all the factors that contribute to a child s
development. Therefore, it was an easy choice for me to work at the the Boys and Girls Club
because I knew I wanted to invest my time into something with children. While volunteering there
it just reassured me of my career in life. A little bit about what I did at the Boys and Girls Club.
There I mainly worked with the staff to play games with the children and then also help them with
their homework. The children usually had playtime outside when it was warm and when it was 4 o

Much Ado About Nothing Lies Analysis
Much Ado About Nothing Essay
Lying is complicated in that the effects of it vary based on the motivations and character of the
one who tells it. This is prominently displayed in William Shakespeare s play Much Ado About
Nothing with foil characters Don Pedro and Don John. Don Pedro is motivated by the idea of
being a good friend, and, as a result, his lies have a positive effect on those affected. In contrast,
Don John, the play s antagonist, is motivated by revenge to lie. When he lies, these falsehoods have
negative consequences, which mirror his intentions. Thus, foil characters Don Pedro and Don John
illustrate that lies motivated by good intent have positive effects while lies motivated with ill intent
have negative consequences.

Once Claudio and Beatrice start planning their wedding, Don Pedro tricks Benedick into thinking
Beatrice is in love with him, and vice versa. This lie is similar to the lie in which he uses deceit
to get Claudio and Hero together in the first place. Afterward, Benedick says to Beatrice: There
is nothing in the world I love as much as you. (V,iv,95) [1] Don Pedro s lie, in contrast to Don
John s, has the rather positive effect of Benedick and Beatrice falling in love. The positive effects
of Don Pedro s trickery mirrors his intentions helpful. In contrast, Don John tricks Claudio into
thinking Hero is unfaithful the night before their wedding, much like how he tricked Claudio into
thinking Don Pedro took Hero for himself. Because of this, Claudio accuses: She knows the heat
of a luxurious bed. Her Blush is of guiltiness, not modesty. (IV,i,35) Claudio publicly accuses Hero
of adultery, one of the most heinous crimes of the time, and, at least temporarily, ruins their
relationship based on Don John s lie. Similar to Don Pedro s example, the effect of the malicious act
matches perfectly with Don John s evil intentions and his meddling character. Claudio s extreme
reaction to this news causes Beatrice to emotionally manipulate Benedick into dueling Claudio for
defaming Hero. Thus, the comedy suggests that the aftermath of lying depends on the

The Terrace At Vernon
The three different types of color presented in various works in chapter 6 were local, perceptual,
and arbitrary. Local color is the easiest to understand as it is the typical color of items that we see
when pictured in our head. According to Sayre, it is the color we know an object to be, the way
we know a banana is yellow. (Sayre, 126) A good artist s example is Jane Hammond s Fallen, which
exhibits a stereotypical fall scene with a twist. Perceptual coloris the way it is see from the eye,
which depends on lighting factors. Monet is a good example of an impressionist painter who
tried to paint exactly what his eyes were seeing rather than what the color was supposed to be.
The last concept is arbitrary color, which is a more expressive take on color, and usually replaces
local colors with other ones that are out of the ordinary but yet fit within the painting, Pierre
Bonnard s The Terrace at Vernon is a good example of this expressive

Color in this piece is used in a warming way. It is considered local because when we think of fall
we think of leaves on the ground and in all of these color variations. What this work is really
showing is somewhat of a healing aspiration since each leaf is sewn on with a fallen soldiers
name from Iraq. As noted in the book, there is no actual brown leaves, but the vast warm color
spectrum makes it appear that there are in fact brow leaves. Without color this would not be as
effective. The color for me makes it seem as if each solider matters. Asides from the color
individuality this work presents, it does all bring everyone together in one place, as the leaves
are grouped together so these soldiers can be together as collective fallen group. Color is also
helping inforce the representational theme of this work since without the typical fall colors this

In discussions of hometown politics, the most controversial issue has been the intentions of
both the Republican and Democratic parties. On one hand the Democrats support the social and

RFID chips are found in lots of things we use every day, credit cards, pet trackers, to everyday
phones, also connecting with phone apps. Even creepier, the microchip is also found in the
technology that is currently at Disney World s MagicBand, which tracks a wearer s location
within the park and connects to that person s accounts for the parks amusement rides. One fact
about the RFID microchip is that it was not the first microchip to be approved. A company
called VeriChip actually got approved by the FDA to market an implant back in 2004. The
implant was designed to carry a unique ID number that hospitals could use to pull up a patient s
medical records if he or she were unconscious; however, the chip was discontinued in 2010 over
privacy concerns with HIPPA. Even if the microchip is roughly the shape and size of a grain of rice
and works like a tiny computer, even the tiny computer can catch a virus just as a regular
computer today can. The chances of identity theft becoming more and more common will
increase dramatically. Also with a microchip being so small and fragile it would make it easier
for damaged, even more so for those who have jobs that require hands on. Our number rule in the
medical field is the patient s privacy; with the microchip approved it will only make it our number

Moby Dick Symbolism Analysis
Moby Dick Symbolism Moby Dick by Herman Melville is full of many symbols foreshadowing
doom, but the one that stood out to me was the Pequod. The Pequod is the whaling ship and it
helps provide a symbol of doom or failure by a couple things: Ahab directs the ship in an
unorthodox way and doesn t use it for it s main intended purpose, the way that the boat is
decorated and portrayed in the painting at the Spouter Inn makes it seem dark and gloomy, and the
place that the name of the boat doesn t come from good history. All these contribute to the theme

The appearance of the ship is not of uplifting image. It s dark and gloomy and decorated with
bones, and a sperm whale and a right whale head hanging off of the side, quite literally
symbolising death in the way that it s almost a floating carcass. At the start of the book the
narrator described a painting Inside of the Spouter Inn which was so dark and gloomy it was
hard to tell what it was even of. The painting displayed picture of a whale ramming the side of a
ship in a storm in the ocean with mountainous waves. This image showed what whales could do
and created a sense of how dangerous the open waters can be. The name of the ship Pequod was
also the name of an indian tribe which were killed off into extinction by diseases that the white
settlers brought. They say not to judge a book by it s cover but I think that in this circumstance
you can. More often than not, ships are named after luxurious or majestic things, not something
gone. Nowadays doing that would be like naming your cruise the The Titanic, no one would want
to ride it because they know that the previous ship sunk to the bottom of the ocean, which doesn t
make it a very welcoming name based on what happened in history. To come to a conclusion, the

HAS 510 Dr. David Tataw May 3, 2015 Value of Healthcare Professionals Healthcare is getting

demographics changes and the study of diseases are shifting at a fast speed. There had been
numerous labors in describing collective capabilities and values within the healthcare organizations.
It is necessary for learning and training programs to be regulated based on the needs of the
humanities they support. Therefore, the institutions that are designing and delivering those
activities must take responsibility for the products they manufacture for the use of the society.
Hence, Academic institutions that are in charge of educating healthcare professionals together with
their various stakeholders must interact in collaboration to create actual and proficient strategies
that will promote suitable culture in the healthcare systems. Current medical education process has
its origins in the European institutions of higher learning that customarily cherished academic

Correlation between Violent Video Game Playing and Violent...
In 2005, Arnold Schwarzenegger signed a law into effect for the state of California that would
prohibit anyone under the age of 18 from playing Mature (M) rated violent video games. If there
were any violators of this law, a hefty fine of $1,000 would have been issued. However on July
23rd, 2011, the Supreme Court did not have enough evidence and revoked this law claiming that it
is unconstitutional and violates the 1st amendment (Mears). Even though video gamemakers scored
a huge victory, the problem still exists. Research confirms that children are spending an
increasing amount of time playing top rated violent video games. On average, boys are playing
13 hours a night, while girls are playing only 5 hours a night ( Children and Videos ). In
comparison, 97% of children between the ages of 12 and 17 reported playing video games, while 2
/3 of them played video games that contained violent content ( Violent ). As the number of children
playing video games continues to increase, the amount of violenceseen in the real world is
increasing as well. The horrific acts of violence (killings, intense violence, strong language, and
sexual context) that are situated in these games are becoming more common in the real world
because children are imitating these fierce actions. Moreover, violent video games are influencing
violence among children by influencing aggressive behavior, lowering the amount of time spent

The Root Causes Of Mass Immigration In California
The decision to shift into mass production was one that was spurred on my industrialization and a
wider demand for the product. Not only were jeans easier to make in the factory, they were
created more efficiently and in bigger volumes. With the wave of mass immigration, came a
significantly larger working class who all needed work wear that could withstand the job s
demands. Ultimately the decision to mass produce was an economic and practical one.
Only decades after, the movement of mass proportions was propelled by the discovery of gold in
California territory. As such, it ended with the inundation of this region by a wave of largely
unwelcome immigrants from all outside corners. Immigrants like Strauss and Davis sought to cater
to the needs and tastes of a more diversified populace. Even today, San Francisco has a minority
majority population, with a Caucasian ratio of less than half. This facilitation of diversity makes
California a distinctive region. Out of which came Levi Strauss jeans, an object of American
iconography with an enduring longevity.
A flood of diversity experienced at this time compares early California to the biblical Babel.
Population growth was so staggering that the availability of gold nuggets scattering the countryside
to people of all stations purported a mass immigration that instantaneously grew by tens of
thousands, eventually reaching hundreds of thousands. Racism and prejudice are root causes of
immigrants heading west. Just as miners

Oppression Of White People Essay
People live there lives based on history. White people live there lives based on the history of how
they oppressed the black people. History is present in everyone, from when you are young to
adults (Baldwin, par.3). People learn of there history of what their people did and they feel guilty
of their peoples actions. White peoplehave an instinctual fear that the black peoplewill oppress the
white people exactly like they did to them (par. 10). This is a fear because of something called
color (par.12). Throughout history white men oppressed the black men in to becoming slaves and
not giving them rights. Making them all less than human. White people bare the responsibility for
their peoples actions. They did not do this themselves. White people feed themselves a history that
is a lie (par.8). They don t know how to release themselves from it. History controls peoples lives in

The Americans have a curtain of color that blinds them. This concept is used by the white people
to justify all the crimes that they commit against black people (par.12). Whites use this curtain to
treat blacks like they are sub human and nothing like themselves (par.14). This curtain will
eventually become a part of their lives. A man is a man, a woman is a woman, a child is a child
(par. 16). Every person is the same on the inside. We strive for the same goals and want the same
success. Don t hide behind the curtain of color. It will cause many hardships and more violence.
History shapes are lives in many ways but we don t have to let it control us fully. Terror and pain
help us realize how history is shaping us. We don t have to take responsibility of what are people
have done to the black people. We still feel guilty of how our people treated them. No longer shall
we be separated into two groups. We are all

Taking a Look at the Original Sin
Original Sin In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth ex nihilo (out of nothing).
After God created the earth he made the adam out of the dust of the earth and by breathing into
his nostrils made the man living. Everything God created was Good, the man was also good but
only with woman was man complete. God created woman from the rib of Adam. Both Adam and
his partner Eve were both placed in the Garden of Edenwhere they were to live and eat from,
everything in the Garden except from the Tree of Knowledge, Good, and Evil. However one day
a serpent came to Eve and asked made her question the command of not eating from the tree. The
serpent told her that she could have knowledge and become like God if she ate from the tree. Both
Adam and Eveate from the tree and disobeyed God s divine command. God in turn cursed the
serpent as well as Adam and Eve. He told Adam that he would struggle and toil with the land and
also that he will return to the dust just as he was created from it. God had to punish Adam and Eve
for the disobedient act from where human corruption became apparent. After a British monk named
Pelagius fled Italy in 409 to escape an invasion and moved to Carthridge in North America, a clash
between this monk and Saint Augustine became inevitable. Both of these men who were teachers
and involved with the church had two completely opposite and opposing doctrines that were bound
to class. This inevitable debate finally occurred in what is known as the

Character Analysis Of Iggy Lee In Freak The Mighty
If you have ever heard the quote Don t judge a book by its cover well, that s what everyone thought
of Maxwell Kane in the book Freak the Mighty by Rodman Philbrick. Everyone knew him as a big
kid and the son of the most famous murderer, Kenny Kane. As the son of a murderer everyone
was afraid of him, but like I said before, don t judge a book by its cover. But everyone did that to
Max, just about until Freak came along and made people think of Max in a new way. The
character Iggy Lee is first described as a Big hairy dude with a beer gut and a bunch of blue tattoos.
He has a beard that looks to be made of barbed wire. If we were judging solely on his appearance,
we might assume that he is big, mean, and bad. In fact, when we first see him, he looks like a
hairy brute. Iggy Lee also seems scary by the way He is always yelling at Loretta to shut up. This
shows that he is somewhat of a bully. However, we later see him getting All the cops in the town
to help out Max. This refutes our initial judgment by showing that Iggy Lee is a kind, caring person
with an overwhelmingly big body.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

The Cultures Of Iran And The United States
The Cultures of Iran In the last few years we have heard about Iran and their nuclear program.
There has been constant back and forth on Iran getting a nuclear deal done with them saying they
are only building for energy and others, including the United States (U.S.), believing they are trying
to build nuclear weapons. If a deal is not completed and the U.S. has to take military action to stop
the Iranian nuclear program, then the U.S. will have to concentrate on the major characteristics that
define the Iranian culture, how those cultures interact in the joint, multinational, and interagency
(JIIM) community, how the U.S. will concentrate on these cultures in the planning and execution of
company level operations, and how Irans... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Islamic restrictions on dress code and total veiling might have affected the appearance of women in
public, but historical accounts of lavish marriages between Caliphs and their beautiful brides attest
to the diversity of designs, colours and fabrics worn indoors (Price, Culture of Iran ).
From this statement, you can see that the Iranian people believe that covering their women in
public is very important but when it comes to fashion inside their home, their dresses and the fabric
they use in their home can be very colorful.
The personal rituals and celebrations in Iran have many ways but when you look how they look at
life after death, you can tell how serious their culture is towards this area:
Allah is the ultimate source of power. A Muslim s first duty is to submit to God s will, follow
the rules, codes of conduct, and perform the prescribed rituals. For this reason purely ceremonial
prescriptions, such as ablutions before prayer, are put on exactly the same level as
commandments of an elevated moral value, such as that of honesty. Missing prayers (namaz),
avoiding Roozeh (fasting) or drinking wine are regarded as sin. Not adhering to Allah s
commands in itself is an act of sin. Ablutions and rituals, such as prayer (namaz), fasting,
pilgrimage to Mecca and paying the religious tax, are

The Role Of The Nurse Manager In NHS Scotland
Within NHS Scotland, the Nurse Manager role is afforded an array of designations such as
Clinical Nurse Manager, Head of Nursing, Lead Nurse, and Service Manager. The role is routinely
referred to as a leadership and management role and is cited as within the echelons of middle
management (NES 2014; The Scottish Government Workforce Directorate 2009). A concept
analysis of the NurseManager role identified a significant absence of Scottish based literature. This
leaves one to conjecture that the role has emerged within NHS Scotland in an ad hoc manner, being
highly dependent on locality drivers, and with no formally agreed definition of role.
The lack of role definition combined with significant expansion of the Nurse Manager role and its
associated responsibilities is argued to have increased the plethora of designations within the global
nursing field (Cathcart et al 2010). Stateside, The American Organization of Nurse Executives

Immigration On The United States
Immigration has emerged as a hot topic of concern over the last couple of decades but in reality
the problem of immigration goes far beyond the realms of recent decades. With President Trump
s intentions to build a wall to stop Mexicans from entering U.S. to the proposed ban of 7 nations,
immigration has never been a more prevalent problem. The recent years however have given birth
to a form of immigration that was not considered to be dominant before, refugees and displaced
people are viewed differently from people who colonized various parts of the world in the early
17th, 18th and 19th century. Today when one thinks of immigrants, Middle Eastern, Indians and

The Causes And Factors Of The Mexican American War
The Causes and Factors of the Mexican American War
The extent through which the Southern desire for slavery was important in the casus belli against
Mexico, as were two other factors being the political fighting and upheaval of the time, and the
threat of foreign intervention by European powers namely, England.
Slavery as an issue was always at the forefront of national politics, whether we consider the
Missouri Compromise and the balance created of one state slave, and one state free, or the gag
rule in Congress which restricted the discussion of the very issue. However, in the Presidencies
of John Tyler and James Polk the main topic accompanying slavery was its expansion and none
illustrated this more than Texas. Texas although formally a state of Mexico, starting at the
beginning of the century was being flooded by migrants from the South, slave owning migrants
who represented a trend of the time illustrated by Document A which showed the gradual shift of
slaves from the more condensed areas of the Old South the fertile pastures of the West. This was
all in search of land to grow cash crops, this always was in the background of the Texas issue,
Texas may have been a catalyst to speed the process along but the process was on its merry way.
Mexico was displeased at the large numbers of Protestant slave owning Americans at their borders
and although it called for no slaves within its borders the calls went unheeded. Finally the newly
elected President Santa Anna decided

The Success Of Deng Xiao Ping s Impact On China
(Slide 1) From 1981 until the death of Deng Xiao Ping and the termination of Deng Era in 1997,
Deng Xiao Ping was the paramount leader of the People s Republic of China after Mao Zedong
s death in 1976. (Slide 2) The nature of Deng Xiao Ping and the period of the Deng Era came to
revolutionise China immensely and had the desire for progress and reform at any cost. Civil
rights, Economic reforms and International relations under Deng Era can be considered to
undermine the costs and benefits of Deng Xiaoping s modernisation of China. To seek further
information, a major focus questions was built, which is, to what extent, did Deng Xiao Ping have
a positive impact on China internally, economically and internationally after 1997? A hypothesis is
created to answer the question, that Deng Xiao Ping had a detrimental impact because he
dismissed civil rights in China internally, economically and internationally after 1997.
Furthermore, the costs of China s reform and progress had a greater role than the benefits during
the Deng Era. Therefore, the effects of the Deng Era, internally, economically and internationally
had a greater cost impact than benefits on China. Three focus questions were acquired for this
investigation. (Slide 3) Firstly, to determine the costs and benefits by Deng Xiaoping internally, I
ask, to what cost did Deng Xiao Ping improve China? What was the Tiananmen Square Massacre
and did it have an impact? We need to know about the Tiananmen Square Massacre. The

Since the Cuban revolution there have been constant waves of immigrating Cubans to Miami. The result has been a Cuban American society that has created culture diversity within. In order to understand the Cuban American culture you must understand its ethnic origin, politics, and the varying times of immigration. Soviet movements often aroused strong disagreement from the United States. In 1962 the Soviet Union installed nuclear missile bases in Cuba, the world stood at the brink of nuclear war as the U.S. government set up a naval blockade of the island and demanded they remove the missiles. This was known as The Cuban missile crisis. Cuban Soviet relations slowly deteriorated as Soviet political, economic, and social policies were liberalized in the late 80s. The Cuban government refused to modify its approach to social and economic policy. In 1991 the Soviet Union dissolved and withdrew its troops and its economic support. The already troubled Cuban economy suffered further from the loss of vital military and economic support. With severe shortages, unrest and dissatisfaction growing, Castro declared a special period in peacetime of food rationing and energy conservation. Shortages of food, fuel, and medical supplies were intensified by the ongoing U.S. trade embargo in Cuba. Aware of China s success with a more capitalistic limited market, Castro decided to experiment with capitalism. In 1993, he granted Cubans limited freedom to open small for profit businesses and allow foreign tourism, including U.S dollars. But economic reform bred demand for political reforms. In 2003, Castro jailed many members from the Varela Project. A group who petitioned for political reform, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Elizabethan Entertainment Research Paper Entertainment in the Elizabethan Era There were many different forms of entertainment and entertainers during the Elizabethan Era, or Shakespearean Age. Most well endowed families in the Elizabethan Era were able to do a lot more in order to entertain themselves. This is especially because they are not busy with the hard work and tasks that lower classes have to handle on a daily basis. According to Dylan Shore, the elite class enjoyed themselves by throwing large feasts, jousts, and banquets. The jousts that were thrown consisted of a competition with two opponents who fought on horses with lances. Jousting was a very popular sport during this era, especially for the elite. Banquets were thrown with five courses, each course being reasonably large and filling ( Entertainment in the Elizabethan Era). Because the elite class had access to more, as stated in a BBC article, ...the invention of the printing press and spread of education meant that gentlemen were part of an elitist culture involved in intellectual pursuits, such as reading the classics, studying music, hunting, and hawking. ( Life in Elizabethan England ). They also danced and listened to music, which was a form of entertainment that lower classes also engaged in ( Entertainment in the Elizabethan Era ). Society and media along with parents and peers show young children and young adults that being thin and beautiful is the only acceptable norm in the world. Even though not all children or young adults are think and beautiful they are still very beautiful. The Roman armies of four forces that were sent out were outmanoeuvred and easily defeated. Spartacus won another three fights before a new roman military force under the control Marcus Crassus was sent to deal with the rebellious slave army. Eventually after long pursuits of battles, Spartacus was killed near the headwaters of the Siler River in southern Italy, but his body was never found. Crassus then crucified 6,000 rebellious slaves as a warning to others. Qin Shi Huang The next figure I will be introducing is a tyrant ruler from the China Dynasty. The diagnoses took my family by surprise because my great aunt had been so healthy up until she started showing signs of this horrible disease. Naturally my family had so many questions on what was to come and how this disease was going to affect my great aunt. The doctors gave us many options and stacks of paperwork that was filled with research over the disease. The statistics on the disease shocked me to the core. I know from personal experience, that this disease takes a toll not only on the person diagnosed but on the family. The family has to sit and watch this disease take the life out of their loved one with no way to help. The effect this has had on my family is why I took it upon myself to do more research and find more information. Alzheimer s Association states that deaths due to Alzheimer s Disease increased sixty eight percent from the year 2000 to the year 2010. (Alz Association) That statistic baffles me because I cannot help but wonder why this horrible disease is becoming drastically more common with every passing second. The number of people diagnosed each year is not just increasing in America but worldwide. The United States is actually not the leading country, but is close behind Europe, where, Alzheimer Disease is most commonly found. This disease is less common in Africa and India, but they still have a high percentage of people diagnosed each year. Alzheimer s disease is known to primarily be found in people over the age of 65, so researchers believe that the cases of the disease diagnosed are increasing due to population aging. Epidemiology of Alzheimer s Disease states that worldwide population aging has become a phenomenon especially when dealing with Alzheimer s disease. Mold is, in fact, a fascinating organism which has had many different uses over the years and our lives would not be the same without it. Most of us know that food seems to become moldy more quickly in the summer than in the winter when it is colder. Food in refrigerators seems to keep longer than food left out in the sun. • 11. Unraveling the Function of Disease-Related Gene Creating cellular model has been a challenging task of a genetic engineer. However, cellular model became a favorite model for biologists due to its inexpensive in generation and maintenance of culture, avoid risk of losing any precious biological material and expedite the various inherent intriguing biological mechanisms at first instance before testing for the in vivo application. Cellular models also provide a great avenue for studying the disease mechanism and drug discovery. To generate the cellular genetic model, TALENs with the reporters are transfected in human cell line to induce targeted genome modification. Genetically modified mammals can serve as valuable models of human genetic disorders, but the majority of disease associated alleles represent single nucleotide replacement that lead to missense, nonsense, and silent mutations (Sauna and Kimchi Sarfaty, 2011). Compared with other animal models, mice are preferred because of their small body size, their fertilization cycle, and genetically close relationship to human genome. To unravel the function of disease related genes and to understand the mechanism of disease progression, mouse mutants were generated by pronuclear microinjection of TALEN mRNA targeted to the mouse homologs of human disease genes into one cell embryos to generate novel Knockout and Knockin mutants. • 13. Analysis Of The Movie The Bloody Chamber Han Tran Dr. Ewell English 308W November 15, 2016 The Bloody Chamber In the short story The Bloody Chamber by Angela Carter depicts a naГЇve young girl who is also the narrator who marries a widow named Marquis. The girl is excited to venture into the world of adulthood, but that excitement ceases when she discovers the horrifying truth of her new husband. Her husband begins to display a side that she has never seen before and what was supposed to be a fairy tale love becomes a story full of lust and violence. In this unconventional damsel in distress tale, the narrator incorporates imagery, metaphor, and allusion to portray sexual innuendo and male dominance the husband exerts on women. Right before the narrator and Marquis, her groom is about to wed, he already started to display a dark side of him though that thought was shrugged off for the time being. She had noticed that he looked at her as if he was a connoisseur inspecting horseflesh (6), highlight the metaphor to compare the bride to that of a tasty meat at the market. By inspecting her as if she was some kind of object highlights Marquis preference for dominance over women and his violent sexual nature. The narrator becomes the object of his fetish and as the horseflesh represents her body, it becomes sexualized in his eyes. As Marquis is compared to that of a connoisseur, this elevates him to a status where he becomes something of an expert in choosing the right kind of girl who is pure in order for ... Mr. Mead And The Police Car In The Pedestrian By Ray Bradbury The characterizations of Mr. Mead and the Police Car in the story The Pedestrian draws a clear distinction between our society and the futuristic society that the author, Ray Bradbury, intended to create in his story. This allows the readers to better understand what the author s perspective of a world where humans rely too much on technology is like. An example would be the characterization of Mr. Mead as a weird person in the futuristic society because he enjoys walking. This could be seen in Mr. Mead s conversation with the police, Walking, just walking, walking? Yes, sir. Walking where? For what? Walking for air. Walking to see. Your address! Mr. Mead can clearly be described as an odd ball in this society because he walks for the fresh air despite the usage of Air conditioners and viewing screen, but his actions are normal in our society and he would be described by the readers as normal. This makes readers better understand the author s perspective on how people relied on technology such as Air conditioners and viewing screen to the extent where they will not come out for a walk at all, and that those like Mr Mead are weird in that society. Another example is the characterization of the police car as a machine, programed to arrest humans with regressive behaviors. These criticisms of Aristotle s account of specific justice have focused on two central problems. First, Aristotle s insistence that all specifically unjust actions are motivated by pleonexia Pleonexia can be understood as the desire to have more of some socially availablegood, and is usually translated as greed or acquisitiveness. Close . Second, Aristotle does not identify a deficient vice with respect to justice. This violates his golden mean doctrine with respect to virtue. Defending one s home, fighting against invaders, when they are attacking the state to preserve one s family and friends is an example of the application of these qualifications on the virtue of courage. Considering how this action affects the overall well being of others, we are considering how the action is generally just. In sum, the distinction being made here is that the same virtue can be seen all by itself, as a part of the character of an individual only, and where the virtue is in relation to another person in a particular political community, and its effects on the well being of others in that political community. We have the same state considered from different perspectives. Aristotle says that justice is spoken of in two ways: as lawful and as fair. I will discuss general justice first in order to distinguish it from specific justice. Generally speaking, general justice is concerned with the common good of the community. In the Politics, Aristotle refers to justice as being a communal virtue. Similarly, then, we shall say that virtue has a just claim in the dispute, since [general] justice, we say, is a communal (koinoniken) virtue, which all the other virtues necessarily accompany (Pol.1283a36 39 trans. Reeve [modified]). This communal or relational aspect of justice shows up both in general and specific justice. I shall discuss the communal or ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

How many have a mobile internet connection, or a local internet connection available for you to use? If you said yes to any of those, then it is likely you have an email address, you have given your home address on a website, entered credit card information, and possibly do online banking. Life is filled with hoops, jumps, and seemingly impossible boundaries. However, when including technology, it allows an extra vulnerability to you. Unfortunately, some of those vulnerabilities are directly related to people with only one goal, to cause problems. In the growing world of technology, the ability to steal personal information is becoming much easier than ever before. With society switching to the cyber world as a more convenient way of life, it is imperative to take the proper methods for protecting your information. Before taking the proper methods, it s important to know what the criminal does to steal your information. The criminal uses malware, short for malicious software, which is any form of software being used against the user s permission. Forms of malware, such as ransomware, spyware, and root kits are some you may heard of, but are only a portion of the tools used to steal a user s precious information. You taught me how to write an article reflection, like the one about how sleep deprivation can cause damage to your health. You also taught me how to annotate articles like how eating too much added sugar may be killing you. Another thing that I learned from you this semester was the WODs. They helped me expand my vocabulary and make my writing more interesting. An assignment we did this yearwas shakespearience. If you hadn t given us this assignment, then I probably would never have read any plays by Shakespeare. least helpful assignment was shakespearience because you never genuinely talked about his plays in class. You said we had to read the books, but we never went over them in class. What if we had questions about the book? You never took the time to check up on us to see how we were doing. The best and most helpful assignment yo taught us was the one about Malala. It genuinely helped me(and the rest of the class) understand what is happening to girls and women in third world countries. I understand now the importance of education. People all around fight for what we have so easily. We take for granted what we have and most of us don t know what is happening to others. So this lesson about Malala taught me and hopefully the rest of my class to appreciate what we have. Nothing that you taught us needs to be revisited. I understand mostly everything that has been learned this semester, it just took me a lot of time to process it. My class last year, mostly did just personal narratives or book reports. I just wasn t expecting you to be so hard on us, especially the first semester. Although, you pushed my class and me to new limits, and I hope to do better the next part of this school year. As my teacher, I honestly think of you are a great teacher yet sometimes, you seem like you don t care about us. For example, there was this one time in class when we were taking an assessment and when I asked you for help, you just ignored me and looked away. Computer Security And Social Engineering Computer Security and Social Engineering In terms of computer security, Social Engineering refers to the psychological manipulation of people in order to access confidential information. It is believed that it can be easier to trick people than to hack into their computing system by force. Social engineers gather personal information or gain access to computers by exploiting people s natural tendency to want to trust others and be helpful. Some methods that are used by social engineers to gain information are via email, the internet or even by phone to trick people into revealing sensitive information or get them to do something that goes against the company s policy. Social engineering has been an effective method of committing fraud for centuries. Recently, however, it has been used more and more to assist criminals in perpetrating crimes that can net large sums of money. Without one social engineering method or another, most current attacks would not be successful [11] . Employees are an organization s weakest link and social engineering attacks are only limited by the creativity of the perpetrator, which relies on the gullibility of people. In this paper we discuss some of the most common types of social engineering attacks that are widely used. We will also cover how to defend ourselves from these attacks and why these attacks work in today s society. The most astonishing thing about this is that he has managed to turn socialism from a taboo in American politics into a norm. His run and prominence has led to 43 percent of Iowa caucus voters to self identifying as socialist (Scher 2016). The problem is that actual socialists are in some cases rooting against Senator Sanders. His candidacy has led to a split amongst socialists, with some feeling that he is a bona fide socialist while others feel is a socialist in name only (Scher 2016). As a whole, the parties that would be considered socialist do not place well in elections. The Green Party, which is probably the most well known party with socialist aims, had 469,627 votes in the 2012 election according to the FEC. While not massive, it still dwarfs the totals of parties with the word socialist in their name. Combined, they received a whopping 86,528 votes in 2012 (FEC). Many feel that Sanders has sold out , by pledging to support billionaire backed Hilary Clinton should she win (Scher 2016). Many within the far left feel that Sanders campaign is pulling votes and interest away from true socialist parties and policies, and could weaken the platform overall. Most socialist parties prefer to stay united behind one candidate, in this case the Green s Dr. Jill Stein, and get on the ballot consistently rather than be split with Sanders ... However, the one she loved telling most was about how she met our grandpa. It isn t your typical love story; he was on his way to meet a woman that his parents had picked for him to wed. But while walking in an alleyway, he saw my grandma. My grandma said that it was love at first sight for my grandpa. Without a second thought, he pointed her out to his parents and said, I want to marry her . His parents talked to hers, to follow their son s wishes. Her parents learned that he was well off financially, and accepted the marriage proposal. My grandparents started the marriage off of appearance and wealth. At the time of their marriage, she was sixteen and he was twenty. Though their marriage was arranged by their parents, they did eventually fall in love and were both happy within their relationship. Which got me wondering about the types of marriages that I see today and how people find their spouse. How can a person marry a person they do not love? According to Mary Ann Lamanna, Agnes Riedmann, Susan Stewart (2018), American society, has shifted from institutional to companionate to individualized marriage . Institutional marriages generally do not required love, but required the wife to obey her husband. Women started to find their a voice within companionate marriage, where a woman can expect her husband to support her in her pursuit of self actualization. However, the men are still the breadwinner and the women are still the homemaker. The most common form of marriage today is individualized marriage, where the roles between man and woman, breadwinner and homemaker, a state of are in flux. Their roles within the marriage changes depending on their current situation (Lamanna et al., 2018). With these types of marriages familiar to American culture, we often forget that other types of marriages such as forced or arranged marriages exist, too. In some cultures, arranged marriages are a common phenomenon. According to Gautam (as cited in Madathil Benshoff, 2008), more than 90% of all Indian marriages are arranged . Local color is the easiest to understand as it is the typical color of items that we see when pictured in our head. When the Muslim is dying, someone must firmly but gently prompt the person dying to say the holy declaration prayer, this is called the Shahaada. People can then offer their condolences to the relatives and friends of the deceased, this in Islam is an important act of kindness. The next important factor is the physical cleansing of the body. The bathing of the corpse is an important part of Sunnah the Prophet , this is a part of the Islamic Shari ah. The method, the style and the accessories that are used may vary from time to time and from place to place. After the body has been cleansed, the corpse is then wrapped in a plain simple cloth, this cloth is called Kafan and the process called Takfeen . The main factor while wrapping the body is to respectfully cover the private part, so they aren t visible to others. Islam traditions state that the cloth must be a material must be a gaudy style as well as the cloth not being too flashy, it is for this reason that most muslims pick a white cotton cloth. Perfume is often used on the cloth (Amjad, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In 2005, Arnold Schwarzenegger signed a law into effect for the state of California that would prohibit anyone under the age of 18 from playing Mature (M) rated violent video games. If there were any violators of this law, a hefty fine of $1,000 would have been issued. However on July 23rd, 2011, the Supreme Court did not have enough evidence and revoked this law claiming that it is unconstitutional and violates the 1st amendment (Mears). Even though video gamemakers scored a huge victory, the problem still exists. Research confirms that children are spending an increasing amount of time playing top rated violent video games. On average, boys are playing 13 hours a night, while girls are playing only 5 hours a night ( Children and Videos ). In comparison, 97% of children between the ages of 12 and 17 reported playing video games, while 2 /3 of them played video games that contained violent content ( Violent ). As the number of children playing video games continues to increase, the amount of violenceseen in the real world is increasing as well. The horrific acts of violence (killings, intense violence, strong language, and sexual context) that are situated in these games are becoming more common in the real world because children are imitating these fierce actions. • 40. The Root Causes Of Mass Immigration In California The decision to shift into mass production was one that was spurred on my industrialization and a wider demand for the product. Not only were jeans easier to make in the factory, they were created more efficiently and in bigger volumes. With the wave of mass immigration, came a significantly larger working class who all needed work wear that could withstand the job s demands.
