LESSON PLANNING
DEFINITION WITH DO’S AND DON’T’S
1
WHAT IS A LESSON PLAN?
1
2
A lesson plan is a teacher’s daily guide for what
students need to learn, how it will be taught, and
how learning will be measured.
The most effective lesson plans have six key
parts:
❑ Lesson Objectives
❑ Related Requirements
❑ Lesson Materials
❑ Lesson Procedure
❑ Assessment Method
❑ Lesson Reflection
3
DOS AND DON’TS OF
LESSON PLANNING
2
4
1. Make it specific and detailed.
2. Provide procedures as to what the
students and the teachers will do. Do not
just provide the tasks.
3. Make you activities and objective
student centered. Focus on what the
learners will do.
5
4. Don't try to teach too much in
one day.
5. Don't teach a lesson without a
student activity.
6. Teach to the end goal
7. Know that Teaching MACRO
Skills is different from teaching
Grammar and Literature.
6
FOR OBJECTIVES:
7
FOR PROCEDURE:
To do that, you can answer a list of questions,
including:
- How will you introduce the topic?
- What’s the best way to teach this
information to your students?
- How can you incorporate problem solving
and critical thinking?
- What real-life scenarios relate to this topic?
- Does this topic lend itself to group work?
8
What should we avoid
doing?
1. Too much TTT (Teacher Talk
Time)
2. Content is too hard or too
easy
3. Include content relevant to
students lives = interesting
9
LESSON TAKEAWAYS
10
What are the things you realize in
lesson planning?
Where do you struggle the most?
Which part do you have fun
writing?
11
12
Want big impact? You have to
take bigger risks.
Teaching is
more than a Job.
May you always remind
yourself the reason why you
are here. The reason you will
always be holding so tightly
and that one reason why
you reach this far. Continue
aiming you dreams with a
smile. ☺
