LENGTH OF THE LESSON: 40 MINUTES
CLASS DESCRIPTION: There are twenty-three students in this group, all between ten and
eleven years old. They have English classes twice a week, each class lasts forty minutes. This
group of students work at its pace, which is rather slowly. Their proficiency level is A1.
SKILLS TO BE EMPHASIZED: Listening, speaking, reading and writing.
LANGUAGE:
- Vocabulary sports and nationalities
- Present Simple: Where is she from? She is from China/I’m good at …
- Present Continuous: She is doing gym.
AIMS:
By the end of this class, students will be able to recognize different nationalities and sports.
Besides, they will become culturally aware of how sports get people together and create a
sense of community and belonging. They will about medals materials and structures that
indicate abilities (I’m good at…).
MATERIALS:
- whiteboard
- markers
- projector
- powerpoint
- photocopies
Anticipated problems: Some students could have problems in the understanding of some new
