SYSTEMATIC APPROACH TO TEACHING

SYSTEMATIC APPROACH TO
TEACHING
 Methodical in procedure or plan (systematic
approach).
 Organize- relating to or consisting of a system.
 Logical- presented or formulated as a coherent body
of ideas or principle(systematic thought)
 Efficient- effective in class that is marked by
thoroughness and regularity( systematic efforts).
Meaning of “SYSTEMATIC”
 It is a network of elements or parts different from
each other but each one is special in the sense that
each performs a unique function for the life and
effectiveness of the instructional system.
Systematic Approach to Teaching
 Instruction begins with the definition of instructional
objectives that consider the students’ needs,
interests and readiness.
Define Objectives
 On the basis of these objectives the teacher selects
the appropriate teaching methods to be used.
Choose Appropriate Methods
 In turn, based on the teaching method selected, the
appropriate learning experiences an appropriate
materials, equipment and facilities will also be
selected.
Choose Appropriate Experience
 The use of learning materials, equipment and facilities
necessitates assigning the personnel to assist the
teacher.
Select Materials, Equipment and
Facilities
 Defining the role of any personnel involved in the
preparation, setting and returning of this learning
resources would also help in the learning process.
Assign Personal Roles
 Actual mode of instruction in which all plans are being
utilized.
Implement the Instruction
 After instructions, teacher evaluates the outcomes of
instruction. From the evaluation results, teacher
comes to know if the instructional objective was
attained.
Evaluate Outcomes
 If the instructional objective was attained, teacher
proceeds to the next lesson going through the same
cycle one more.
Refine the Process
 Reading
 Writing
 Interviewing
 Reporting or doing presentation
 Discussing
 Thinking
 Reflecting
 Dramatizing
 Visualizing
 Creating judging
 evaluating

Lesson 4; Systematic approach to teaching

  • 1. SYSTEMATIC APPROACH TO TEACHING PROF. ED 4 (EDUCATIONAL TECHNOLOGY)
  • 2. “A plan that emphasizes the parts may pay the cost of failing to consider the whole, and a plan that emphasizes the whole must pay the cost of failing to get down to the real depth with respect to the parts.” - C. West Churchman SYSTEMATIC APPROACH TO TEACHING
  • 3.  Methodical in procedure or plan (systematic approach).  Organize- relating to or consisting of a system.  Logical- presented or formulated as a coherent body of ideas or principle(systematic thought)  Efficient- effective in class that is marked by thoroughness and regularity( systematic efforts). Meaning of “SYSTEMATIC”
  • 4.  It is a network of elements or parts different from each other but each one is special in the sense that each performs a unique function for the life and effectiveness of the instructional system. Systematic Approach to Teaching

  • 6.  Instruction begins with the definition of instructional objectives that consider the students’ needs, interests and readiness. Define Objectives
  • 7.  On the basis of these objectives the teacher selects the appropriate teaching methods to be used. Choose Appropriate Methods
  • 8.  In turn, based on the teaching method selected, the appropriate learning experiences an appropriate materials, equipment and facilities will also be selected. Choose Appropriate Experience
  • 9.  The use of learning materials, equipment and facilities necessitates assigning the personnel to assist the teacher. Select Materials, Equipment and Facilities
  • 10.  Defining the role of any personnel involved in the preparation, setting and returning of this learning resources would also help in the learning process. Assign Personal Roles
  • 11.  Actual mode of instruction in which all plans are being utilized. Implement the Instruction
  • 12.  After instructions, teacher evaluates the outcomes of instruction. From the evaluation results, teacher comes to know if the instructional objective was attained. Evaluate Outcomes
  • 13.  If the instructional objective was attained, teacher proceeds to the next lesson going through the same cycle one more. Refine the Process
  • 14.  Reading  Writing  Interviewing  Reporting or doing presentation  Discussing  Thinking  Reflecting  Dramatizing  Visualizing  Creating judging  evaluating Examples of learning Activities
  • 15.  Textbooks  Workbooks  Programmed materials  Computer  Television programs  Video clips  Flat pictures  Slides and transparencies  charts Examples of Learning Resources for Instructional Use
