Prince Hal in Shakespeare s Henriad Essay
Prince Hal in Shakespeare s Henriad The question that Shakespeare raises throughout the series
of Henry IV, Part I, Henry IV, Part II, and Henry V is that of whether Prince Hal (eventually King
Henry V), is a true manifestation of an ideal ruler, and whether he is a rightful heir to his father s
ill begotten throne. England is without a true king, being run by a ruler without the right of
divine providence on his side altogether, a very difficult situation for a young, inexperienced, and
slightly delinquent Prince to take on. The task of proving himself a reliable Prince and a
concerned ruler is of utmost importance to Hal, as he does not enjoy the mantle of divine right
perhaps by being an excellent ruler, Hal can make up for the... Show more content on

Furthermore, Shakespeare gives the audience the reason that Hal acts this way: after Hal is left
alone, he speaks his true mind, explaining that when this loose behaviour I throw off/ And pay
the debt I never promised,/ By so much shall I falsify men s hopes;/ And, like bright metal on a
sullen ground,/ My reformation, glittering o er my fault,/ Shall show more goodly and attract
more eyes/ Than that which hath no foil to set it off./ I ll so offend to make offence a skill,
/ Redeeming time when men think least I will. (1H4, 1.2.199 207) Prince Hal shows a great deal
of insight in this revelation; his words show that he realizes he has a twofold boundary to
overcome: first, he is seen as overly juvenile and flighty by most of his father s men; second, and
more importantly, Hal knows that he has no claim to the divine right to rule, as he is not of
Richard II s bloodline. It seems, then, that Hal knows full well the way that men respond to the
image of royalty, and [is] no less instinctive a politician than his father, and is in fact the creator
as well as the creature of political mythology, the author as well as the hero of his legend
(Ornstein, 137). By rising phoenix like out of the ashes, Hal knows that he will make a more
compelling impression on England than if he had been conventionally princely all his life, and
plays this dramatic advantage to

Abstract
Justice System in Egypt and the United States are similar in many ways. Egypt Justice System

The Egyptians had harsh punishments for breaking the law. The laws were based on common
sense view of right and wrong. It depended on which crime the criminal did to figure out which
punishment they would receive. Not only would it disgrace them, but it would disgrace their whole
family.
Now, Egypt uses criminal codes. The criminal codes listed three main categories of crime: minor
offenses, misdemeanors, and felonies. Lower courts handled the majority of these cases. Capitol
crimes that carried a possible death sentence includes murder, manslaughter, arson or the uses of
explosives that caused death, rape, treason, and endangerment of state security. In Egypt few
convictions for capital crimes, however, resulted in execution.
Egypt laws required that a detained person be brought before a magistrate and formally charged
within 48 hours or released. The accused are entitled to post bail and had the right to defended by
legal counsel. Searches can not be conducted without a warrant.
The justice system in the United States is one of the most unique in the world. It consists of two
separate levels of courts, state and federal.. Most of the laws that govern our day to day living are
state laws; violations of federal law include offenses involving federal government employees,
kidnapping or evading arrest, and fraud such as income tax or postal fraud.
There are two types of trials: criminal and civil. In a

Powerful Women In The Chrysanthemums By John Steinbeck
Women can now perform tasks much better than men can do and no one can be able to prevent
them from achieving things that they desire in life because what drives them is stronger than the
forces against them. However there are still a number of women today that have low self esteem
and confidence issues. The restoration on confidence and self esteem depends on the people that
surround them in order for them to believe in themselves. In this story there is this women that is
pictured as a strong women but at the end of the day she struggles with her inner feelings. In the
story The Chrysanthemums by John Steinbeck, Elisa is a women stuck in a life she cannot escape
from in which she conforms herself to stay. Elisa lives in a farm in the valley... Show more content

When she sees that spec on the ground, she knows that all was a lie. She breaks down into weak
tears. This shows that her confidence and self esteem and this is seen when she pulls up her
collar to hide her shame and she goes back to her comfort zone which is her isolated farm.
Women should never underestimate themselves at any moment and they should always do what
makes them happy because women are very beautiful, strong and a source of strength to many
who have lost hope in life. Elisa proves this by stating that, I am strong. I never knew before how
strong (Thomas 50). Nobody should be strong enough to discourage a woman from achieving all
she wants in life and people should support women in raising their self esteem because women
are all we need to move forward because a woman is the real definition of love, care and
progress. This is seen in the story when Elisa lays her husband s suit, shoes and tie methodically
and this shows that despite the oppression she is a care

The War Of The Creek War
American Hitler
Andrew Jackson was the by any means type of American, who had no real concern for the long
term effects of his actions. He would gladly slaughter a tribe of Natives to further U.S. holdings,
as a matter of fact, he did, several in fact. However, although Jackson committed a great deal of
such atrocities, some of which are incredibly well known, he s still viewed as, above all else, a
national hero by some in the present day. Prior to Jackson s presidency, wherein the great majority
of well known Jackson driven atrocities against the Natives occur, Jackson proved to be a monster
for the Natives. After the Creek War, Jackson happily punished the Creeks, whether they be friend
or foe. The Creek War was originally an internal conflict between two subsets of the Creek
people, but Jackson saw this as an opportunity to force the Natives to cede land. Much of the
conflict was between the Lower Creeks, whom Jackson would eventually ally with, and the Upper
Creeks, A.K.A. the Red Sticks, who, unlike the Lower Creeks, were highly opposed to the U.S.
encroachment and subsequent assimilation. As time passed and conflict progressed amidst the
Creek people, outside involvement became an integral part of the war. Militant forces from several
southern states amassed forces to combat the Red Sticks. Jackson himself, on Tennessee s behalf,
led a party of approximately 1,000 men along with an additional contingent of Cherokee warriors.

How To Prevent Gun Shootings Essay
Guns and Firearms The Orlando attack was by far the deadliest shooting in U.S. history (49
killed), and it is not even 10 years removed from the 2007 Virginia Tech massacre (32 killed), and
the 2012 Sandy Hook shooting (27 killed) (Willingham). The Orlando, Virginia Tech, and Sandy
Hook shootings were some of the worst memories America has to offer. Mass shootings have taken
place across the U.S. for many years. The United Statesis still facing too many conflicts involving
shootings; these issues could be resolved by the creation of a specific institute made to prevent
shootings from occurring and an increase in laws being placed on guns. America s gunhomicide rate
is 25 times more than any other country. After conducting research on... Show more content on

If more laws were to be created in order to strictly modify the aspects of guns and their
accessibility, it may reduce the amount of people attempting to even gain access to one. Although,
people may continue to be inclined on breaking certain laws placed on guns and firearms. A Federal
Political Committee, PAC, concurred that, Congress should work to make gun trafficking a federal
crime and ensure enhanced penalties for kingpin gun traffickers, corrupt gun dealers and straw
purchasers (SOLUTIONS). Destroying gun trafficking might reduce the amount of organized crime
occurring in America. To continue, the Prevention Institute brought up an idea, We must insist that
assault weapons have no place beyond the battlefield not in our schools, not in our movie theaters,
not in our places of worship, not in our streets and communities (Prevention Institute). Restricting
the area access of guns around the U.S. may limit the chances for people to enact a shooting.
Although some still may be willing to break laws placed on guns, the enforcement of an increased
number of laws laid on America may be enough to reduce the amount of shootings the

What Is The Theme Of The Country Husband By John Cheever
1. Introduction Literary scholars and critics have often commented upon the structural
complexity of John Cheever s short story The Country Husband . For example, George W. Hunt
argues that it is a long story, so rich in accident and in emotional colorations that it reads more
like a novella (273). Often cited is also Vladimir Nabokov s expression that the story under
discussion is [a] miniature novel (qtd. in Dessner 58). Hence, it is quite safe to assert that the
body of this work of literature is rich in imagery, various motifs and symbols. The war imagery is
just the one of the most discussed issues (e.g., Hipkiss 577 579). According to Lawrence Jay
Dessner, [n]ot a page in The Country Husband is without at least one explicit... Show more content

The Importance Of Fairy Tales
Expository All fairy tales continue to be relevant in today s world. The adventurous stories are
continually thriving through the different techniques that writers use including the themes that
each tale embraces to draw their readers in and remember them. This allows for the fairy tales to
be prevalent to the world today. Before fairy tales were the sources of many movie adaptions, they
were only spread word of mouth, where story tellers would share them with their communities.
These story tellers would strive to make sure that the stories that they told were remembered by

their characters to reflect the actions of how the human species as evolved. Similarly to when
people go through a crisis, the characters of fairy tales adapt to a new situation. They may also
use a survival method or have to protect themselves. While the exact circumstances are not the
same, the same emotions are played that make people to connect to with their own lives. This

The Crucial Role Of Nationalism In The 19th And 20th Century
Impact of Nationalism
During the 19th and 20th centuries, nationalism played a crucial role in shaping the world, both
constructively and destructively. Throughout history, nationalism can be found almost everywhere,
with the desire for self determination and independence as its primary catalysts. Nationalism can
take form in politicians, national leaders, propaganda and mass media. In the last two centuries, the
collapse of the Ottoman Empire, the emergence of independent nations, the two most influential
wars of all time, World War Iand World War II, and the rise of the worlds superpowers, the United
States of America and the Soviet Union can all be partially attributed to strong sense of nationalism

In 1879, Germany and Austria Hungary formed the Dual Alliance. The Dual Alliance was, ...a
defensive pact that ensured reciprocal protection from a Russian attack and neutrality in case of an
attack from any other power . In 1882, France joined the alliance, thus creating the Triple Alliance.
After France, Germany, and Austria Hungary formed the Triple Alliance, leaders of other European
countries, such as Great Britain saw this posed a threat. So in turn Great Britain, Russia, and other
neighboring countries formed the Triple Entente, which were known as the Allies. Nationalism
caused the formation of alliances in the European countries based on common beliefs and the fear
of an imbalance in power. The development of these national alliance systems contributed to the
infamous war known today as World War I.
Post World War I, the Allies found themselves victorious and in 1919, the Treaty of Versailles
was signed at the Paris Peace Conference. The treaty ordered Germany to pay reparations,
shouldering the entire cost of the war. The treaty also demilitarized Germany and the other
countries that had been part of the Central Powers. The treaty severely lowered Germany s morale
and left the country war torn. Two years after the Treaty of Versailles was signed, a man by the
name of Adolf Hitler became the chairman of the political party identified as the National Socialist
German Workers Party, otherwise known as the Nazi party.

The Vampire Chronicles Vs. Twilight Saga
The Vampire Chronicles vs The Twilight Saga Do you prefer The Vampire Chronicles by Anne
Rice or The Twilight Saga by Stephenie Meyer? This question can lead into a huge argument due to
the opinions of who answers the question. A person can guess the answer by the age of the people.
The older generation would suggest The Vampire Chronicles because it tells the tale of the true
vampires, such as the human blood suckers that only comes out at night. While the younger
generation would suggest The TwilightSaga because it shows that vampires can be like regular
people. Although there are some major differences between The Vampire Chronicles and The
Twilight Saga, the similarities are shocking. For people who forgot or don t know about these two
novels, these novels are about the lives of vampires. The Vampire Chronicles (1976 2003) is by
Anne Rice. Her novels are series that tells the story of a French nobleman named Lestate de
Lioncourt who transformed into a vampire in the eighteenth century. The other novel series, The
Twilight Saga, is by Stephenie Meyer. Her novel series tells a story of a young ordinary female,

the parents are the most important source of youth s behavior, which effect to their outlook in

Teenagers from non intact families were more likely to be sexually active and had higher rates
of pregnancy. Girls from broken homes were at greatest risk for teenage pregnancy. The study
also found that children who were in a single parent or step parent home by the time they were
ten were more than twice as likely to be arrested by age 14. Children who never lived with their
own father had the highest likelihood of being arrested.[5] According to Patrick F. Fagan, Ph. D.
that the children living with the single mother are six times more likely to live in poverty than
are children whose parents are married.[6] According to Dr. Verna Hildebrand parenting involves
many commitments and responsibilities. Perhaps the greatest of this is helping a child develop a
positive self concept and high self esteem. With these assets, a child will be better able to make
wise decisions, relate well to others, and assume responsibilities for his or her life.[7] Conceptual

Essay about The Urban Legend of the Backseat Murderer
The Backseat Murderer
A good urban legend is like a good movie. It unfolds perfectly and it appeals to the audience s
hopes, fears, and anxieties. The urban legend I am about to describe was told by a first year
female biology major at the University. She is of Indian descent and both her parents work in the
biotechnology field. I collected this story on a Sunday night in the dorm. The fact that it was
nighttime helped create the proper mood for the story. It was told in a dimly lit dorm room. The
story was told with an eerie tone of voice, with emphasis and excitement during certain parts. The
final part of the story was told in a mysterious fashion, which helped with the delivery of the ending.
I heard this story a while ago from ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The next morning, the woman s car is found on the side of the road in a ditch by a passing driver.
He pulls over to investigate, and the woman is found dead and stabbed multiple times. It was a
gruesome site. The police are called in and they decide to investigate by asking the locals if they
knew anything. When the gas attendant was interviewed, he claimed that he heard about an
escaped serial killer on the radio and said that he saw the killer in the backseat of her car
crouching down. When he told the woman to come inside he was really trying to warn her that the
killer was in the backseat of the car without alerting him.
This story is a popular urban legend. A story similar to this one also was related in Ann Landers
column in 1982 (Joyce). There are many variations to this story. In one version, instead of pulling
into a gas station, the woman keeps driving the car and is followed very closely by another
motorist. She mistakes the motorist as an assailant, but the motorist is really trying to warn her
that there is someone else in the backseat of her car. The motorist repeatedly flashes his lights in
order to keep the backseat murderer from attacking. In yet another version, the backseat murderer
is attempting to commit an act required for his gang initiation, he has to kill the woman and sever
a body part to bring back as a trophy in order to be accepted into his gang. Although there have
been no recorded instances of this story

Synopsis Of A Poem Rhyme
Hye Jung Yang
Dr. Solomon
ENGL 2530 C
April 2, 2015
History of Rhyme These days, many songs repeat the same sounds again and again. Also,
singers and songwriters say it is really important to create songs that are catchy and that
everyone can sing along to easily. Most songs that are popular worldwide are easy to remember
because they constantly repeat the same sounds. The repeating sound is referred to as rhyme ,
and according to Cambridge dictionary it means two or more words with the same final sound,
or the use of such words, especially at the end of lines in a poem or song. The Billboard charts
show weekly population of songs or albums in the United States. If a song were placed in high
rank on this chart, it would mean the song is popular in world not only in the United States but
worldwide. After learning this, I checked some of the song lyrics that had high ranks, and I
noticed the songs have a lot of rhymes. Moreover, Songs are not the only type of media that uses
words that rhyme. As Paul Muldoon said fifty percent of television ads use rhymes. The rhyme is
around us at all times. People just do not realize because rhyme comes naturally to everyone. I
actually thought the word Rhyme scheme was created in the twenty first century. However, I
realized that is not true after I learned about the sonnet in class. Usually, sonnets use rhymes a lot.
There are two major rhyme schemes on sonnet: Petrarchan (or Italian) sonnet and Shakespearean (or
English) Sonnet. Both

The Importance Of Owning Property With Great Historic And...
Many questions arise regarding the decision of owning property with great historic and economic
value. In the artistic world of museums, there has always been a craving to own the most valuable
antiquities created by human kind. The biggest battle of antiquities relies on the Elgin Marbles,
which were once part of the Parthenon, a magnificent creation of Athenians to worship Athena The
Goddess of War (British Museumweb npg). This temple stands atop the Acropolis, on the site of
another lost temple to Athens patron goddess. Little is known about this first structure except that
it was still under construction in 480 B.C. when Persian forces sacked the city and demolished the
Acropolis. The Parthenon is very famous, and tourists from all over the world visit this temple to
contemplate the talent of past generations. In present times, we have Greece, which claims that the
Elgin Marblesshould be repatriated; on the other hand we have Britain, which currently possesses
the Elgin Marbles displayed in the British Museum. The British Museum acquired these sculptures
thanks to Lord Elgin, a British ambassador to the Ottoman Empire. Lord Elgin was passionate
about the ancient Greek art. Between 1801 1805 he removed about half of the remaining sculptures
back to Britain (BM web npg). This big dispute has garnered extensive media attention. Not all of
the sculptures from the Parthenon are in the British Museum, even though a big portion of them
are. You can also find

Conventions related to Prime Minister:
The law does not say anything about how a Prime Minister should be chosen similarly the law
does not require a Prime Minster to be appointed. However the law says that the Monarch may take
on or discharge ministers at her own satisfaction.
On the other hand, conventions believe that the monarch has to request one person to be the Prime
Minister and head a government.
Every Prime Mister has to be a member of both House of Commons and House of Lords. Prime
Ministers in the House of Commons are elected by the public on the other hand the House of Lords
are hereditary peers. http://cms.gcg11.ac.in/attachments/article/259/CONVENTION.pdf
Conventions related to Ministers:
Ministers are given the power to make laws on various areas which are connected to the
government, including some powers legally vested in the Monarch: and ultimately, through
Parliament and parties to the electorate.
In the common doctrine, Ministers are responsible for the conduct of officials within their
departments alongside to their personal

Mia Ham In Soccer
There have been many influential women in the history of soccer. For example, Abby Wambach,
Mia Hamm, and Alex Morgan are just some of the many influential female soccer players.
Through all of them, Mia Hamm stands out the most. Mia Hamm is influential because she was
the founder of a bone marrow research foundation, she wrote a kids book to encourage them not
to quit even if they don t win, and she is an inspiration to girls who want to play soccer or any
other sports. First, she was the founder the Mia Hamm Foundation (a bone marrow research

Winners Never Quit! / Mia Hamm (Book) says The world s top goal scorer and three time
Olympian offers a soccer tale, putatively autobiographical, about a little girl whose tendency to
stomp off the field when frustrated prompts her teammates to teach her a lesson. The text
perfectly reflects a competitive child s rage when things don t go as desired. The book could be
an influence to kids to show them the importance of having good sportsmanship and not being
too hard on yourself when you don t win. Next, it says Mia learns quickly that there will be
times when she will score a goal and those when she will not, but playing the game is the most
fun of all. This quote supports that her book is one of the reasons she is influential because it
comes from her point of view so it s easy for kids who have had the same attitude when they don
t win to relate to. Last, Winners Never Quit! says, Mia Hamm, American soccer champion and
best selling author of Go for the Goal, tells a true life inspired story of learning that winning and
losing aren t as important as being part of a team. When kids (or really anyone) reads this, they
could learn the lesson that Mia learns, winning is not as important as being part of a team. Mia

Most drilled massive sulfide deposits and iron formation layers occur near the top of the
volcanic pile and overly the flanks of the LLIC. Felsic rocks underlying massive sulfide deposits
in the top of the volcanic pile are FI and FII types. Rocks with a magnetic signature similar to
known massive sulfide deposits occur down section and over the center of the LLIC. These
rocks are interpreted as having the highest potential for hosting Au rich VMS deposits. Mafic
rocks of the Oaks Intrusion (OI) occur in the eastern part of the belt and have been dated at

It Was Not Fair, By The Brown V. The Board Of Education
It was Not Fair Knowledge overcomes ignorance and was the best weapon in the fight against
injustice. Words as these were the only form of consolation for children who were separated but
they remained to be equal because they were either worthless in society or they were inferior.
But the inferior here were the whites, it was whom a black child noticed were always in charge.
This inferiority was what caused black children like Moses attend schools were children who
looked like himself attended. Moses had moved into an all white neighborhood where a new
school was being constructed across the street. Everyone wondered if he would be able to
attend the school, the answer was clear: NO. Therefore, Moses had to wake up, pretend there
was no school right across the street and walk or ride his bike two miles to the school where the
law said he belonged. This was in 1958, four years after the Brown v. the Board of Education. By
knowing what Brown v. the Board of Education was, the effects before the case and the
outcomes, it is better understood why children like Moses did not have to walk long distances to
attend a school when there was one right across the street. It was not fair. Brown v. the Board of
Education was a Supreme Court decision held in 1954 in which the Equal Protection Clause was
being violated in segregated schools because the city s black and white schools were not equal to
each other and never could be . At this point in time, schools (along with

The decline in hospital capacity was accompanied by a rise in staffing. Full time equivalent

that capacity for ambulatory services has risen overtime. Emergency departments have reduced
with a larger percentage of closures being in rural areas. Compared to hospitals, physicians have

There is, however, an uneven distribution of physicians between rural and urban areas. There is an

The Current System of Collegiate Athletics and the NCAA
The current system of collegiate athletics and the NCAA Meggyesy, David. Athletes In Big time
College Sport. society 37.3 (2000): 24 28. Print. The NCAA has become a revenue generator as
college athletics have become a multi billion dollar sports entertainment enterprise. The most
prominent contradiction with the NCAA is that amateur rules are applied to the athletes, while the
rules of the market apply to the university s athletic departments. By classifying athletes as amateur
student athletes the college athlete labor market does not fall under federal or state antitrust laws or
state workers compensation laws. The NCAA member schools are allowed to set the wage for the
student athlete and not give benefits to players who suffer injury. Due to the rewards being
bestowed onto the NCAA member schools and not the student athletes who produce the product,
this system can be described as exploitative. The student athlete receives an athletic scholarship
with the intention that student athletes will receive a quality education for four years of athletic
service. Though, the low graduation rates among the main revenue sports show that the university
does not live up to end its end of the deal. Due to the rising tide of student athlete protests, the
NCAA instituted Prop. 48, which changed the four year athletic scholarship to a one year
renewable grant. This allowed the athletic departments and head coaches the ability to control a

What Are The Similarities Between The Democrats And The Whigs
President Jackson s presidential campaigns of 1828 and 1832 were both successful and won him
the presidency. One large factor of its success was the way Democrats campaigned on behalf of

because since he was a former president his actions as president revealed his stance on major

Nuclear Weapons Be Abolished
Should nuclear weapons be abolished? How would removing and prohibiting nuclear weapons
change the world? Well, When it comes to abolishing or getting rid of nuclear weapons;
particularly, nuclear bombs or warheads mounted on a long range ballistic missile; There is
plenty of controversy and argument over this topic. The world has had plenty of instances
where if nuclear bombs were not in play, The situation would have been a more peaceful
experience. But speaking in long term effects, How would not having and nukes around truly
change the world? And how would it effect the history of mankind? When it comes to the pros
with ridding the earth of powerful nuclear weaponry, people who prefer them gone believe this
would influence a more peaceful future for humanity, And create a safer world for the
generations to come. This would take years to accomplish and plenty of negotiations with other
nations, But the end result would be a huge step towards world peace. The smaller weaker and
poorer nations around the world would feel less worried about getting picked on by richer and
larger countries. People who believe the banning of nukes would greatly reduce and chances of an
all out nuclear war ravishing the earth with radiation, And ending the lives of millions if not

he or she fits into the social norms that have been created. It is now clear that males are the
dominant figures in our society. Norms in society do not just come randomly to one s life; they
start since a child is born. When a child is born the first question asked by the parents, family, and

The issue was raised when I was struggling to understand why pastor Kevin did not ask me as the

my pride toward my supervisor. Who am I to decide the speaker for the retreat? I was just an intern
who is getting supervised. I felt like I was falling apart as a leader. This could be interpreting as

A Study On A Fourth Month Male Child Essay
Introduction
The case study focuses on a 15th month male child (proband) brought by his mother to a
pediatrician with inconsolable crying due to acroparathesia in the lower extremities and
angiokeratomas on his skin. The mother is 30 year old Japanese healthy female (consultand)
with a history of hypohydrosis. The proband has two siblings, a 6 year old sister with a mild
hearing deficit in both ears and a 4 year old sister with no medical history. The consultand has
two siblings, a 34 year old healthy male with a history of hypohydrosis and 19 year old sister with
angiokeratomas similar to the proband. The consultand s father and uncles have passed away at
young ages ranging from 42 50 due to acute myocardial infarction, renal failure or acute stroke. The
proband s father is Caucasian with a history of mild hypertension. The paternal grandparents have a
medical history of mild hypertension (paternal grandmother) and hypocholesteremia (grandfather).
Overall, the medical and family history of the proband is consistent with X linked disease known
as Anderson Fabry disease as the affected male (consulstand s father) passed his X chromosome to
all of his daughters (consultand and sister). In this way, all daughters of affected males will have
the gene for Anderson Fabry disease.

Adolf Hitler Thesis
The man who has no sense of history, is like a man who has no ears or eyes (Adolf Hitler). Adolf
Hitler was a heroic figure to many people throughout Germany. He became a great successor in
Germany in both politics and war. His political victories led him into becoming dictator of
Germany. His anti semitic ways created a path to his extreme loyalty to the German Empire

acts of crime.

Austria, his match was sparked and Hitler was born. Adolf had both his mother and father
present majority of his early life. His father ,Alois Hitler, was a custom officer, while his
mother,Klara Hitler, was a maid for a rich Jewish family. Hitler was one of eight children by his
father because not all of his siblings had the same mother and father. Hitler s father was a drunk

Health Insurance Career
My current goal in my career is to become a licensed health insurance agent. I ve spent the last 13
years in the health care industry. I reached a point in my life where I want to do something that I
would enjoy doing, and feel that I am making a difference. My past positons were Claims
Adjudicator, Senior Appeals Resolution Analyst, and my current position is a Network
Operations Representative. All these positions have equipped me to be able to service the
population in a different capacity. I m currently working what I like to call my plan . The past few

To remain competitive and operational most insurance agencies are relying on mobile devices,
social media and rethinking how they conduct business to remain relevant. Depending on whether
you are in house agent, or field agent you will have the advantage of using your computer, phone,
tablet to process applications. In the past agents would have to carry paper applications with
them when visiting a prospective client. Modern technology is changing and applications can
be processed electronically at your fingertips. Most insurance companies are shifting from point
of sale system to a web based solution. This change will allow independent agents access into the
policy pricing system to give the most accurate pricing information. Insurance agencies are also
looking to change explanation of benefits to make it more user friendly for customers (Baseline
Magazine). Insurance Agent is only the beginning once I get the position it opens the door to
other career opportunities to pursue. With the proper training and exposure, I will be able to
possibly expand to become an independent broker that would allow me to become my own boss.
With any plan there will be ups and downs but the key is to stay focus, and keep moving until I
reach my goal. I am partially there and it only a matter of time until I will fulfill my

Social Reasons For European Imperialism
Imperialism by European countries took place in the late 19th century and the early 20th century.
Imperialism is a policy of extending a country s power and influence through diplomacy or
military force. European nations went after nations in Asia and Africa because of the benefits for
the European nation that took over them. For how many benefits there were for the imperial
power, there were many drawbacks to the country being taken over. Traditional way of life was
disrupted, racism, and economic exploitation was not appealing result for the colonies that were
taken over. The social reasons for imperialismvaried from nationalism to the spread of a certain
religion. The political reasons for imperialism varied from access for an army and... Show more

The industrialized nations of Europe competed with each other for natural resources and raw
materials such as copper, rubber, petroleum, and cotton. The European nations could no longer
provide enough raw materials for themselves, as the industrial revolution was growing, so the
nations had to find another way to get these natural resources and raw material. The nations of
Europe turned to imperialism as a result for the need for raw materials and natural resources.
Imperialism was the perfect way to gain the materials needed to keep the industrial revolution at a
high. Another benefit to imperialism, for the imperial power, was the new markets to sell the
output of factories. This surely boosted the economy of the European nation with the international
markets, because investment opportunities in newly developing areas had a greater potential for
large profits than if invested in the more stable domestic economies. Industrialists believed that
access to markets, natural resources, and investment opportunities would be more profitable if
they did not have to compete with other nations, so there was a race to see which country could
gain the most and most strategic land. One example of a strategic area of land is Great Britain s
control of Singapore and the Malay Peninsula. Having control of these two nations meant that
Britain was able to protect its trade routes between India and China. The Imperial

Running head: DISTINCTIONS BETWEEN CLASSICAL AND OPERANT CONDITIONING
Abstract
There are many differences between classical and operant conditioning that will be discussed in this
paper. These two types of conditioning are often misinterpreted by many individuals; therefore, it is
important to distinguish the two. Learning the different ways animals function and the new
behaviors they adapt to are of interest to both Ivan Pavlov and Edward Thorndike. .Sex differences
are measured and taken in consideration in both kinds of conditioning processes. ... Show more

For instance, a toddler who burns his hand on a cooking stove will be less likely to come near it
next time, remembering how he got burnt from it. Another form of punishment is when a behavior
ends on a desirable event.
An example of this is when a boy pulls his sister s hair and is given a time out, which has lost his
privilege to watch TV. The boy has learnt a lesson because he won t dare to even touch his sister s
hair remembering he had lost his privilege to watch TV.
Classical conditioning deals with involuntary responses, primarily involving emotions, whereas,
operant conditioning deals with voluntary responses that are active behaviors operating within the
environment. Compared to operant conditioning, classical conditioning is more passive because in
operant conditioning, learners are either getting rewarded for something or punished for something,
which keeps the process active. Organisms experience a consequence despite of the fact they have
learned the conditioned response. On the other hand, in operant conditioning, the consequence is
dependent on the likelihood of the organism reacting to the response. Khawaja 5
Running head: DISTINCTIONS BETWEEN CLASSICAL AND OPERANT CONDITIONING
How do you determine the type of conditioning, whether it is classical or operant?
Focusing on the outcome or consequence is the key to determining between the two because if the
outcome occurs regardless of a response to be shown, then the paradigm is

Consumer Behavior And Consumer Behaviour
Introduction
A consumer is any person that is involved in the process of consumption. They are identified
according to the market type to which they belong, namely final and industrial consumers
(Solomon, et al., 2013). Understanding the consumer behaviors will aid in appreciating the various
market segments and developing strategies for effecting market penetration in these segments. It
will also help in identifying market gaps and shape their needs and objectives so as to solve the
day to day consumer s concerns in purchase.
The single purpose of all production is consumption. The producer s interest should only be
attended to as far as it is necessary in promoting the needs of a consumer (Smith, 1937 p. 125).
Studies on consumer behavior began in the 1960s, and later several consumer theories which
focused on the consumer from various perspectives were developed. Marketers use these theories to
deveop marketing strategies based on attitudes, interests and consumer perception.
Consumer behavior theories All major consumer theories can be grouped into four categories,
namely economic, psychological, psycho analytical, and socio cultural theories. They are based on
the simple law of conumption that consumption increases as aggregate income increases, assuming
the habits of spending are constant and political and economic conditions are free and perfect
(Solomon, et al., 2013).
Economic theories Economic theories on consumption are focused on how income is allocated and

rich cinnamon rolls. After our short but enjoyable dinner, we return to our tour and start our small

The Signalman by Charles Dickens, The Adventure of the Speckled Band by Sir Arthur Conan
Doyle, and The Yellow Wallpaper by Charlotte Perkins Gilman
People have written short stories for hundreds of years; however it was not until the 19th
century that they really became popular. Short stories were the ideal form for writers who
wanted to earn some immediate money and reach a wide audience. As more people were given
the chance of receiving basic education, literacy rates improved and more were able to enjoy
reading. As the technology improved printing became cheaper meaning that more people could
afford to buy and read cheap magazines. This was in the days before television or radio when

It shows how the relationship between an oppressive husband and his submissive wife pushes her
from depression into insanity. At first she does not like the room and its horrid wallpaper but soon
she becomes intrigued by its patterns and what lurks behind them.
The third story The Adventure of the Speckled Band is a typical murder mystery story. Sherlock
Holmes is presented with a baffling set of circumstances from which he deduces the facts and
reveals the villain. All three stories are common in that they are written in the first person singular.
This has the effect of engaging the reader and making him feel part of the unfolding tale.
Conan Doyle uses this technique in writing The Speckled Band . His story revolves around the
character of the detective, Sherlock Holmes, however it is told as seen through the eyes of his
companion, Dr
Watson, providing a good example of writing in the first person.
The Signalman is told in first person narrative; which makes the story extremely personal, meaning
that the reader becomes more involved in the story and it feels like it is actually happening at the
same time as you read it.
Charles Dickens also uses dialogue to reveal the account of the haunting and I believe he does
this to make it even more personal still. The Yellow Wallpaper is written almost in a diary form.
Reading it you feel as if you are in the woman s head as she makes notes in her journal. All three are

Usually they are found in North America. Males can be found along the edge of the water
defending their territory from other males by flashing their abdomens. Females rest on plants.

Cockroaches enjoy living in warm, wet, dark places, such as basements and sewers. Drains and
pipes are often used as passage ways to enter a home or building. This type of cockroach crawls
into homes, hospitals, restaurants, and grocery stores. American Cockroaches are detrimental to
humans for many reasons. They can carry diseases and cause allergic reactions. They will slither
around in unsanitary places, and then carry those germs into our homes. American Cockroaches
can spread almost thirty three different types of germs and bacteria. Their unsanitary waste and
skins can cause asthma, allergic reactions, and other diseases in some people, specifically
children. Food can be contaminated by their shed skins. American Cockroaches are not native to
North America. They were probably shipped from Africa in around the 1600s. To prevent
cockroaches, keep all food areas dry and clean. That includes cooking, and eating areas. Since
American Cockroaches can spread disease, calling pest management professionals is suggested if

Essay about Trying to Corner the Gold Market on Black Friday
There have been many financial corruptions and scandals though out history and in 1869 one such
scandal rock The United States financial institute s foundation. The attempt to corner the gold
market lead to the preverbal straw which almost broke the camel s back. This scandal has become
to be known as Black Friday, not to be confused with the Friday following Thanksgiving this Black
Friday proved that without oversight of the market it could quickly become a market of the few.
Here we are 118 years removed from this attempt to create a monopoly of the gold market and we
still have some of the same issues going on to this day. The 1869 Black Friday scandal might have

The American people believed that the U.S. Government would make good on their credit by

Government greenback buyback plan. The plan to buy the gold at a lower prices as the U.S.

before more gold was introduced into the market the price would increase. The plan would require

Jay Gould and Jim Fisk knew they would greatly benefit with some inside insight so they first

Jay Gould and Jim Fisk would also recruit the help from a former Union Army General, Medal of

Abel Corbin was successful in convincing his brother in law President Grant in appointing the

Still, here are two reasons why safari hunts benefit hunters who pay for it. The first reason is, Many
countries could not bear those added administrative costs. They would have to forgo hunting and
the benefits derived from regulated tourist safari hunting. Many lion populations would perish with
the loss of hunting habitat, decline in enforcement and the rise in the lion livestock conflict. says
John J. Jackson, III . John is telling us that many of the countries need those added costs to hunters
coming overseas to hunt animals. The second reason is that when lion habitats are in hunting
areas, Most lion habitat is in hunting areas that, in aggregate, are larger than national parks. There
is no other place for them! A major source of revenue for the operating budgets of wildlife and
enforcement authorities is from licensed, regulated tourist safari hunting. A threatened listing

taking away their benefits. Says John J. Jackson, III. As you can see, many benefits come from

But believe that we would somehow become a communist state over night. Somehow the
liberties we take for granted would become the reason people would fight for the wrongness of
such violent images. We should as a nation take responsibility for our actions and our children s
actions. If we did this there would be no need for the government to regulate our lives in such
ways as banning the things that allow for self expression. And even though violence may or may
not touch our lives sometimes daily there is no reason keep those that like the blood and guts
from their idea a fun. If you not portraying the serial killer you are watching or playing there is no
need for my concern or the government s regulation on such matters. In conclusion, I am against
violent video games but I understand the need for others to participate in such activities. I also
understand that taking away such rights to play these games would cause chain reaction of
government control of not only what is played but viewed and voiced. I believe if we are able to

Analysis Of Porcini s Inc.
Porcini s Inc., a high quality Italian cuisine in most of North Eastern US region, operates a chain
of 23 full service restaurants. It is known for its excellent service and high quality food. However,
Porcini is currently experiencing a stagnation with low growth rate. As a result, its management is
considering to expand its business by launching 2 new chains of lower cost and limited menu
restaurants, Porcini Pronto. They will be located along the highway exists, targeting both travelers
and locals. The company is hoping that this will increase its brandimage internationally. However,
there are number of issues attached to this notion. The restaurant has very limited access to capital.
Also, not a lot of consumers are aware of Porcini s new brand, Pronto. Thus, the main issue is that
Porcini must maintain the well known, high quality of its food and service not only while it is
expanding its market through Pronto but also while it is competing with the famous, equally
competitive restaurants, and exceed 6% hurdle rate. In this paper, the case is analyzed though
various models. 5 forces analysis

entrants to find the prime locations that Pronto is targeting. These include downtown area,

Robert Boyle, born January, 25 1627 was an Irish born natural philosopher and chemist. Boyle is

temperature. Robert s life of scientific research took place when he joined a band of enquirers or

pressure and volume that Robert Boylestudied was first noted by two scientists Richard Towneley

  • 2. Prince Hal in Shakespeare s Henriad Essay Prince Hal in Shakespeare s Henriad The question that Shakespeare raises throughout the series of Henry IV, Part I, Henry IV, Part II, and Henry V is that of whether Prince Hal (eventually King Henry V), is a true manifestation of an ideal ruler, and whether he is a rightful heir to his father s ill begotten throne. England is without a true king, being run by a ruler without the right of divine providence on his side altogether, a very difficult situation for a young, inexperienced, and slightly delinquent Prince to take on. The task of proving himself a reliable Prince and a concerned ruler is of utmost importance to Hal, as he does not enjoy the mantle of divine right perhaps by being an excellent ruler, Hal can make up for the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Furthermore, Shakespeare gives the audience the reason that Hal acts this way: after Hal is left alone, he speaks his true mind, explaining that when this loose behaviour I throw off/ And pay the debt I never promised,/ By so much shall I falsify men s hopes;/ And, like bright metal on a sullen ground,/ My reformation, glittering o er my fault,/ Shall show more goodly and attract more eyes/ Than that which hath no foil to set it off./ I ll so offend to make offence a skill, / Redeeming time when men think least I will. (1H4, 1.2.199 207) Prince Hal shows a great deal of insight in this revelation; his words show that he realizes he has a twofold boundary to overcome: first, he is seen as overly juvenile and flighty by most of his father s men; second, and more importantly, Hal knows that he has no claim to the divine right to rule, as he is not of Richard II s bloodline. It seems, then, that Hal knows full well the way that men respond to the image of royalty, and [is] no less instinctive a politician than his father, and is in fact the creator as well as the creature of political mythology, the author as well as the hero of his legend (Ornstein, 137). By rising phoenix like out of the ashes, Hal knows that he will make a more compelling impression on England than if he had been conventionally princely all his life, and plays this dramatic advantage to ... It depended on which crime the criminal did to figure out which punishment they would receive. Not only would it disgrace them, but it would disgrace their whole family. Now, Egypt uses criminal codes. The criminal codes listed three main categories of crime: minor offenses, misdemeanors, and felonies. Lower courts handled the majority of these cases. Capitol crimes that carried a possible death sentence includes murder, manslaughter, arson or the uses of explosives that caused death, rape, treason, and endangerment of state security. In Egypt few convictions for capital crimes, however, resulted in execution. Egypt laws required that a detained person be brought before a magistrate and formally charged within 48 hours or released. The accused are entitled to post bail and had the right to defended by legal counsel. Searches can not be conducted without a warrant. The justice system in the United States is one of the most unique in the world. It consists of two separate levels of courts, state and federal.. Most of the laws that govern our day to day living are state laws; violations of federal law include offenses involving federal government employees, kidnapping or evading arrest, and fraud such as income tax or postal fraud. Powerful Women In The Chrysanthemums By John Steinbeck Women can now perform tasks much better than men can do and no one can be able to prevent them from achieving things that they desire in life because what drives them is stronger than the forces against them. However there are still a number of women today that have low self esteem and confidence issues. Women should never underestimate themselves at any moment and they should always do what makes them happy because women are very beautiful, strong and a source of strength to many who have lost hope in life. Elisa proves this by stating that, I am strong. I never knew before how strong (Thomas 50). Nobody should be strong enough to discourage a woman from achieving all she wants in life and people should support women in raising their self esteem because women are all we need to move forward because a woman is the real definition of love, care and progress. This is seen in the story when Elisa lays her husband s suit, shoes and tie methodically and this shows that despite the oppression she is a care ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 6. The War Of The Creek War American Hitler Andrew Jackson was the by any means type of American, who had no real concern for the long term effects of his actions. He would gladly slaughter a tribe of Natives to further U.S. holdings, as a matter of fact, he did, several in fact. However, although Jackson committed a great deal of such atrocities, some of which are incredibly well known, he s still viewed as, above all else, a national hero by some in the present day. Prior to Jackson s presidency, wherein the great majority of well known Jackson driven atrocities against the Natives occur, Jackson proved to be a monster for the Natives. After the Creek War, Jackson happily punished the Creeks, whether they be friend or foe. The Creek War was originally an internal conflict between two subsets of the Creek people, but Jackson saw this as an opportunity to force the Natives to cede land. Much of the conflict was between the Lower Creeks, whom Jackson would eventually ally with, and the Upper Creeks, A.K.A. the Red Sticks, who, unlike the Lower Creeks, were highly opposed to the U.S. encroachment and subsequent assimilation. As time passed and conflict progressed amidst the Creek people, outside involvement became an integral part of the war. Militant forces from several southern states amassed forces to combat the Red Sticks. Jackson himself, on Tennessee s behalf, led a party of approximately 1,000 men along with an additional contingent of Cherokee warriors. After his, and America s, first ... How To Prevent Gun Shootings Essay Guns and Firearms The Orlando attack was by far the deadliest shooting in U.S. history (49 killed), and it is not even 10 years removed from the 2007 Virginia Tech massacre (32 killed), and the 2012 Sandy Hook shooting (27 killed) (Willingham). The Orlando, Virginia Tech, and Sandy Hook shootings were some of the worst memories America has to offer. Mass shootings have taken place across the U.S. for many years. The United Statesis still facing too many conflicts involving shootings; these issues could be resolved by the creation of a specific institute made to prevent shootings from occurring and an increase in laws being placed on guns. If more laws were to be created in order to strictly modify the aspects of guns and their accessibility, it may reduce the amount of people attempting to even gain access to one. Although, people may continue to be inclined on breaking certain laws placed on guns and firearms. A Federal Political Committee, PAC, concurred that, Congress should work to make gun trafficking a federal crime and ensure enhanced penalties for kingpin gun traffickers, corrupt gun dealers and straw purchasers (SOLUTIONS). Destroying gun trafficking might reduce the amount of organized crime occurring in America. To continue, the Prevention Institute brought up an idea, We must insist that assault weapons have no place beyond the battlefield not in our schools, not in our movie theaters, not in our places of worship, not in our streets and communities (Prevention Institute). Restricting the area access of guns around the U.S. may limit the chances for people to enact a shooting. • 10. What Is The Theme Of The Country Husband By John Cheever 1. Introduction Literary scholars and critics have often commented upon the structural complexity of John Cheever s short story The Country Husband . For example, George W. Hunt argues that it is a long story, so rich in accident and in emotional colorations that it reads more like a novella (273). Often cited is also Vladimir Nabokov s expression that the story under discussion is [a] miniature novel (qtd. in Dessner 58). Hence, it is quite safe to assert that the body of this work of literature is rich in imagery, various motifs and symbols. The war imagery is just the one of the most discussed issues (e.g., Hipkiss 577 579). According to Lawrence Jay Dessner, [n]ot a page in The Country Husband is without at least one explicit... In January 1956 The Country Husband won the O.Henry Award for the best story of 1955 (Donaldson 147). There are approximately twenty six suburban stories, and all, unlike the urban or expatriate stories, are outstanding. Though the six stories mentioned [ The Country Husband , The Swimmer , The Death of Justina , The Brigadier and Golf Widow , The Housebreaker of Shady Hill and O Youth and Beauty! ] constitute an estimable touchstone, the others are deemed the lesser only by comparative standards (Hunt 248). Hunt them, some experts say. To begin with, Dan Joling from Los Angeles times says, The environment is changing and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Still, here are two reasons why safari hunts benefit hunters who pay for it. The first reason is, Many countries could not bear those added administrative costs. They would have to forgo hunting and the benefits derived from regulated tourist safari hunting. Many lion populations would perish with the loss of hunting habitat, decline in enforcement and the rise in the lion livestock conflict. says John J. Jackson, III . John is telling us that many of the countries need those added costs to hunters coming overseas to hunt animals. The second reason is that when lion habitats are in hunting areas, Most lion habitat is in hunting areas that, in aggregate, are larger than national parks. There is no other place for them! A major source of revenue for the operating budgets of wildlife and enforcement authorities is from licensed, regulated tourist safari hunting. A threatened listing would raise the cost of safaris, cause the loss of habitat and prey, and upset local residents by taking away their benefits. Says John J. Jackson, III. Somehow the liberties we take for granted would become the reason people would fight for the wrongness of such violent images. We should as a nation take responsibility for our actions and our children s actions. If we did this there would be no need for the government to regulate our lives in such ways as banning the things that allow for self expression. And even though violence may or may not touch our lives sometimes daily there is no reason keep those that like the blood and guts from their idea a fun. If you not portraying the serial killer you are watching or playing there is no need for my concern or the government s regulation on such matters. In conclusion, I am against violent video games but I understand the need for others to participate in such activities. I also understand that taking away such rights to play these games would cause chain reaction of government control of not only what is played but viewed and voiced. I believe if we are able to have full knowledge of the things we bring home, and then maybe we wouldn t bring them home. But if we do then we are prepared for the consequences. In being prepared we teach our children not only what is right and wrong, teaching to them to be aware of what they are teaching themselves. If parents monitor what their children do, watch ... They will be located along the highway exists, targeting both travelers and locals. The company is hoping that this will increase its brandimage internationally. However, there are number of issues attached to this notion. The restaurant has very limited access to capital. Also, not a lot of consumers are aware of Porcini s new brand, Pronto. Thus, the main issue is that Porcini must maintain the well known, high quality of its food and service not only while it is expanding its market through Pronto but also while it is competing with the famous, equally competitive restaurants, and exceed 6% hurdle rate. In this paper, the case is analyzed though various models. 5 forces analysis 1.Threat of new entrants In Pronto s case, this factor is low because it would be difficult for new entrants to find the prime locations that Pronto is targeting. These include downtown area, shopping mall, interstate highway exists, gas stations, close to office building and distant from other already existing Italian restaurants. Furthermore, new entrants would require ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 55. Robert Boyle Research Paper Robert Boyle, born January, 25 1627 was an Irish born natural philosopher and chemist. Boyle is known for being the first modern chemist, and best known for his law Boyle s law. This law describes the relationship between pressure and volume of gas, within a constant closed system of temperature. Robert s life of scientific research took place when he joined a band of enquirers or the Invisible College , which devoted themselves to new philosophy. The relationship between pressure and volume that Robert Boylestudied was first noted by two scientists Richard Towneley and Henry Power. Robert Boyle just confirmed their studies and published it first taking credit for it and is named after the law. In Boyle s experiment to see how pressure and volume were connected, Boyle used a J shaped piece of glass tubing that was sealed on one end, gas was trapped in the sealed end of the tube and fluctuating amounts of mercury were added to the J shaped tube to vary the pressure of the system. Boyle fluctuated the pressure and measured the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... These measurement was done by using a fixed amount of gas and a constant pressure and temperature. This way Boyle was able to examine the pressure volume relationship without problems from other factors such as changes in temperature or amount of gas. This is the data analysis that supports Boyle s experiment. When the volume pressure data has been found, the next task is to determine the precise relationship between the two properties. Even though a large number of relationships are possible, the most likely possibility is that the volume will relate to the pressure raised to some random power V = CBL P ...
