Heart Diseases Atrial Septal Defect
Heart Diseases Atrial Septal Defect
Body System Atrial Septal Defect affects the cardiovascular system of a person s heart and affects a
person s life. The understanding of the heart and the process it completes in our bodies. As we look
into the difference of what the heart does and the challenges you go through when your heart is not
healthy. When we our born we our born with heart murmur s in which they are supposed to close
throughout your growing process. Atrial Septsl Defect is a hole in your heart that should be fixed in
order for the person to live longer or a full life.
The heart beats and pumps blood through our blood vessels, in which carries oxygen to our lungs.
There are three main types of blood vessels in the heart circulatory, in which are the Arties,
Capillaries, and Veins. The Arteries that is the aorta large artery carry oxygen blood away from the
heart, the branch becoming smaller as they carry blood further from the heart into organs. Capillaries
connect the arteries and veins allowing oxygen, nutrients and carbon dioxide pass through the cells.
Veins are the one that passes through the vessels and remove waste products from our bodies.
The heart consists into three layers in which are endocardium, the myocardium, and the epicardium.
The endocardium is the inner layer of the heart (chambers and valves). The myocardium is the middle
muscular layer which is responsible for heart contraction. The epicardium is the outside layer of the

The Historical Contexts Of The African American Vernacular...
I trust that the American lingo will keep on growing, however, different dialects/vernaculars will, in
the end, cease to exist or end up noticeably imperiled. The reason is on the grounds that there are a
huge number of dialects that many individuals don t think about; individuals need to likewise
remember that there are just a few individuals just talking certain vernacular in various locales. The
two dialects that this paper will concentrate on will be African American Vernacular English known as
Ebonics and the Gullah dialect; I chose to pick these two dialects since it is critical to see this African
Diaspora the two gatherings originated from oppressed Africans from West of Africa, yet today one
gathering just communicates in English while the other gathering has their own particular dialect, for
example, English, and Creole all through the areas of South Carolina, Georgia and Florida.
African American Vernacular English began amid servitude in the south the Africans were restricted
from utilizing their local dialect. They needed to discover distinctive approaches to speak with their
partners and slave experts, however there is still no thought on how AAVE was totally made because
of the shocking disaster of bondage. The vast majority of these thoughts are just speculations, however
numerous students of history keep on studying the historical backdrop of African American Vernacular
English to discover how it began. One hypothesis proposes that when slaves of various

2016 Presidential Race Picking Up
With the 2016 presidential race picking up, one of the main issues that are being deliberated among
candidates and politicians is the private equity industry and it s and widespread abuse of a tax
loopholes. During the Obama administration, there had already been talks regarding the taxing of
carried interest , the 20% incentive fee charged by private equity firms, as regular income rather than
capital gains. In spite of the failed effort, politicians from both parties are now aggressively pushing to
close the prominent loopholes enjoyed by fund managers widely. Additionally, private equity firms are
being scrutinized for taking investors money regardless of whether or not they allocate the capital into
deals. These two major issues from ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Under current legislation, managers can avoid paying steep income taxes on the 20% incentive fee in
favor of the significantly lower capital gains taxes, thereby saving hundreds of millions of dollars
annually at the expense of the middle class taxpayer. This is accomplished through for the use of
management fee waivers and carried interest tax loopholes that recognizes the 20% incentive fee
portion as capital gains.
*Note, that ordinary income tax rate maxes out at 39.6% while the capital gain tax rate is only 23.8%.
Bipartisan push for Private Equity Tax Reform Class warfare is a term that is often thrown around by
Republicans to describe any attempt to tax the upper class, and yet Republicans and Democrats alike
have found common ground when it comes to eliminating the carried interest tax break. Recently,
President Barack Obama met with Business Roundtable, an association comprising of the nation s top
CEOs, to argue his case for eliminating the prominent tax loophole. He states that the tax loophole
provides no recognizable economic benefit, but instead is causing the middle class to suffer financially
as a consequence. With the current income disparity levels at record highs, the financial industry has
also become the new target for many 2016 presidential nominees such as Sanders, Clinton, Bush, and
Trump to name a few. So the question that begs to be answered is will

Lord Byron Obstacles
During the Romantic Era, Lord Byron was figuring out how to overcome his hardships and guilt.
Byron knew people wouldn t understand his unconventional lifestyle or his depression; so he wrote
poetry that would spark people s emotions. Writing became his only hiding place from the outside
world. His poetry reflects his hardships, guilt and depression that he tried so hard to escape, but never
could. Byron s childhood, many escapades, and travels would come to influence his poetry. It is
beyond question that Byron s poetry reflected his life and emotions.
Byron had many hardships throughout his childhood. One of them being his foot. Byron was born
with a right clubfoot (Willis 7). This caused him to go through years of torment by his peers. The ...

She catches your eye, and you can t believe how beautiful she is. As she walks past you, you can t
help but take notice of how dark her hair is and how it s the perfect contrast with her light skin. She is
not just a beautiful face though she radiates her happiness and innocence with the grace in her walk. In
the poem She Walks in the Beauty Byron describes his mystery women similar to this. In the first
stanza, he compares the women to the night. In the second stanza, he is explaining how the balance of
her beauty is one shade the more, one ray the less meaning that her beauty is perfectly balanced. The
final stanza shows how her beauty reflects her innocence and goodness as a person ( She Walks in
Beauty ). Byron is so intrigued by the women that he starts to mix up his senses the line Thus
mellowed to that tender light illustrates how Byron is confusing tender and light. Byron is describing
the light as tender which would be a synesthesia, because tender is a sense of touch and light is sense
of sight. In line eighteen, Byron uses her heart to represent her as a whole person, he says A heart
whose love is innocent! ( She Walks in Beauty ). Byron is using her heart to describe how she is
innocent as a person this would be a synecdoche. The rhyme scheme is ABABAB the reason Byron
did this was that the poem was originally supposed to be sung ( She Walks in the Beauty Analysis ).
The tone of this poem would be how men

Psychological Theories Of Crime
There is great debate over the reasons why people are driven to commit a crime. Numerous theories
have been developed to attempt to explain the motives that cause people to act out against family or
even strangers. There is particular attention given to the motivating factors to those who chose to
commit mass murders in the country because of the great media attention given to them. For example,
school shootings are covered extensively in the media and tend to be more well known compared to a
simple bank robbery, assault, etc. Thus, experts and everyday citizens tend to have an interest in the
psychological state of the shooter at the time of the crime and what caused him/her to act out in such a
way. One example of this is found in the Sandy ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
nurture. For a Criminal Justice 1010 class at the University of Nebraska at Omaha, Professor Elizabeth
Keller Charbonneau put together a lesson on the different theories of crime. One of the individual
level crimes in the lesson was considered Psychology: A mental illness or personality disorder causes
people to commit a crime (Keller Charbonneau, 2015). This applies to Adam Lanza, as pointed to in
the Frontline video. Without explicitly stating that Lanza was driven by his illness, it was greatly
implied. In the video special, the reporters focus on Adam s childhood and his interactions with his
mother and peers. The video states that Adam was diagnosed with a sensory integration disorder in
which he had problems with change and people touching him. This is explained in an interview with
Marvin Lafontaine in the Frontline video. Lafontaine was a friend of Nancy Lanza, and also has a son
the same age as Adam. The two were in Boy Scouts together and during one interaction, he
remembers Nancy telling him not to touch Adam (Koughan, 2013). This seemed out of the ordinary,
but it was because Adam had sensory issues, which was later diagnosed. Along with this, Adam had
issues with change, and this escalated when his family moved to Newtown, Connecticut. Adam began
school at Sandy Hook Elementary School and was described as shy and uncomfortable in big settings
(Koughan, 2013). He didn t really mingle well with the other children and Nancy worried about him,
but didn t take much

Explain Why We Should Continue To Continue For Exploration...
I think that we should continue to pursue exploration of Mars because there could possibly be life out
there that we do not know about, it inspires people to to gain more education, and another option just
incase ours gets destroyed.
My first reason is because there is a possibility that there is other life and natural resources on mars.
For example, new medicines, technology, signs of water, and living bacteria can result in research that
benefits people on Earth. Maybe, this new technology can prevent radiation problems and developing
improved vaccines. It might be possible to help us address a new cure for diseases.
My second point is that it inspires people to gain more education. Space exploration has inspired many

Traditional Policing Vs Community Policing Research Paper

Professor Scott Howe
Justice and the Community
5/01/2017
1) what are the differences between traditional policing and community policing? What are the
benefits of community policing?
Community policing is a strategy of policing that focuses on building the police relations with the
community by working closely with them It s a policy that requires them to succeed to using a
proactive method to address public safety apprehensions such as crime, social disorder, and fear.
Traditional policing is the standard style of police work where they react to crimes and calls for
service while patrolling. Their duty is to look for crimes that have happened or is happening in
communities instead of actually partnering with the community ... Show more content on

The police must provide special services when encountered with these members. Sometimes they do
not need protection from themselves and each other but from other people in the society as well. The
young population is some tough ones to deal with just because they are so young and they haven t
developed yet to their full capacity. They are vulnerable and the way they are being encountered does
influence them a lot. Therefore, it is very important that police officers are trained in working with the
young population when handling them. Officers should be patient and have some sense of humor that
the young can relate to just to make them loosen up a bit. Police officers can go to youth programs and
be part of it and understand the developmental changes that the youth faces so they know what they
are going through. When it comes to dealing with elderly, you have to consider the mental state and
physical health before encountering them. The officers should have patience and compassion when
dealing with an elderly. They are older and sometimes they may not understand and move as fast as
one think they supposed to just because they are grown. The police can give them some sense of
respect instead of ordering and try to control them. They are grown and they will want to feel that they
are still in control of their own life. Sometimes elderly persons just want somebody to talk to. For
example, in an

Black Ink Investigation
Methods
In my experiment I tested how people responded to the memorization of dates depending on whether
or not the dates were written in color or black ink. The following materials were used to test the
hypothesis that dates written in color were more influential to the mind than dates written with black
pen.
Two notecards
Colored markers
Black ink pen
Two pieces of paper for recording results from people s answers (color and black ink)
This experiment was developed with the help of a website that tested my hypothesis most effectively.
For this experiment, I tested sixty eight people in total. Thirty four people for dates in color, and thirty

about the question and learning whether or not dates in color affect the mind stronger than dates in

means that things written in color are easier to remember than things written in black and white.

fifth child out of six, one boy and five girls. Two of her sisters fell ill and died while her, as well as her
remaining sisters came home from school and began to write (Poetry Foundation).

Gap Year Disadvantages
While beneficial to students in certain circumstances, a gap year s success ultimately depends on
background elements like socioeconomic status. Students taking a gap year must possess a structured
plan and must actively seek productive ways to explore their passions to dully utilize it to their
benefit.
Often enough, a student s background will determine his or her effectiveness in a gap year. While
students at prestigious universities like Harvard exhibit higher GPAs, one should note that for students
of low socioeconomic status taking a gap year puts them at a sizable disadvantage compared to peers
who enter college right away (Hoder; Figure H). The seemingly contradictory nature of this data
would imply gap years require certain conditions for success. One must factor that places like Harvard
typically have students of higher socioeconomic status due to the nature of the school, meaning the
experiences of a wealthier person in his or her gap year would differ with the experience of a lower
income student. Therefore, a gap year could yield benefits but only with the right resources available.
Lining up with this, students who take a gap year typically come from higher income households
(figure I). In figure C for example, the lesser degrees for gap year students stem from using one or
more gap years instead of just one year, since the previously mentioned data implied most higher
income students will take off a single gap year and not more. Inversely, poorer students

Students At The University Of Alabama
The number of students attending the University of Alabama has reached a new high of 37,100. That
number is a 2.4% increase from 2014 (uanews.ua.edu). As the number of students is predicted only to
increase in the years to come, the University must reflect on the housing options for these 37,100
students. Freshman students required to live on campus face a difficult situation lack of housing. With
that being said, the best and most efficient way to cope with the ever growing population is to allow
freshmen to live off campus, and build more apartments around campus to allow thousands of more
students to have places to live in the future. Providing housing on campus for nearly 8,000 freshman
students is nearly impossible. The Presidential Villages house 1,840 students. Blout, Bryant, Bryce
Lawn, Burke, Friedman, The Highlands, Lakeside, Parham, Paty, Ridgecrest, Riverside, Somerville,
and Tutwiler house roughly 5,000 more students. These freshman options barely fit the ever growing
number of new students coming to Alabama. The University of Alabama board of trustees recently
approved a $124 million dollar project to tear down and rebuild Julia Tutwiler Dorms. The dorm
currently houses 1,000 freshman girls. The Tutwiler Dorms are due to be torn down at the end of the
2017 Spring Semester. The new building is scheduled to be finished in 2020. The new building will

Boundary Layers During The Early 1900s By Ludwig Prandtl
section{Boundary Layers}
The concept of boundary layers was first thought of in the early 1900s by Ludwig Prandtl. He
presented a paper in Germany in 1904 which outlined a slightly viscous fluid near a solid boundary
cite{Prandtl}. In this paper certain assumptions were made. Firstly the Reynolds number is large, so
the viscous terms can be neglected far away from the solid boundary. Then there exists a thin layer of
fluid near the solid boundary and this fluid is known as a boundary layer. Outside this viscous fluid is
an inviscid fluid region, which gives rises to a multideck structure. This boundary layer has a
thickness of $delta$ and is proportional to Reynolds number by $delta/L propto {Re}^{ 1/2}$, where
$L$ is the characteristic length scale of the solid boundary. The pressure from outside the boundary
layer is not significantly different from the pressure inside the boundary layer. The boundary condition
for pressure can be approximated by the value of upper boundary in the inviscid region. Rescaling the
wall normal coordinate $y$ by the boundary layer thickness ${Re}^{ 1/2}$ implies that we are
located within the boundary layer and this retains some viscous terms. The following scalings are
introduced to perform analysis within a boundary layer

Father Pedro Arrupe Research Paper
His Mission
Father Pedro Arrupe was truly a man of God, born to lead the Jesuit s to greatness. Born in Bilbao,
Spain, he initially felt called to set the world ablaze through medicine. He undertook medical training
for a number of years, but decided his true calling lay with the Jesuits, joining in 1927. He was unable
to pursue his studies in Spain as the Republican government had expelled the Order. This did not deter
him, as he was unwavering in his pursuit of priesthood; he undertook his studies in the Netherlands
and Belgium. Soon, Pedro was ordained and well on his way to finding his place in the Order. The
Society sent him to The United States to study Medical Ethics, after which he set out to spread the
faith to Japan. In 1958, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Jesuits were accused of substituting politics for the gospel, and Arrupe was charged with leading
the Society astray.
Arrupe s time as Superior General was marked with turmoil, as critics believed that the he made too
radical changes and politicized the order. Despite frequent disparagement, Arrupe pressed onwards
with his reforms. Because of this, many people see Father Arrupe as the second founder of the Society
of Jesus. Like Ignatius Loyola, the founder of the Jesuits, he confronted the difficulties and challenges
the Jesuits faced in his day with brilliance, holiness, and courage. Despite witnessing horrible
atrocities, Arrupe believed God is everywhere in the world. He often said, All are called to know and
serve God, and put that belief into practice through his missionary work. This ethos was the sign of a
man truly born to serve others, a man who, through his compassion and love for others, set the world
ablaze.
A Man for Others
Father Arrupe brought light into the hearts of God s people the world over through his inspirational
leadership. Perhaps the best way of highlighting the profound effect he had on those who followed
him is by hearing their stories. Father Arrupe was genuinly concerned for the wellbeing of the
ordinary people. Dennis Murphy accompanied Father Arrupe to the Philippines. Here, he wanted to
know what ordinary urban poor people thought of these matters. He

World War I And The United Policy Of Strict Neutrality
On Sunday, 28 June 1914, at approximately 10:45 am, Franz Ferdinand and his wife were killed in
Sarajevo, the capital of the Austro Hungarian province of Bosnia and Herzegovina, by Gavrilo
Princip. The assassination of Ferdinand and his wife set off a chain of events that would lead to the
start of World War I. When the war began the United States proclaimed a united policy of strict
neutrality. After multiple U boat attacks that killed hundreds of American civilians and the
transmission of the Zimmerman Telegram , America declared war on Germany in 1917. In an address
before a joint meeting of Congress, U.S. President Woodrow Wilson discusses the aims of the United
States in World War I and outlines his famous Fourteen Points for achieving a lasting peace in Europe.
The Fourteen Points is a blueprint for world peace that was to be used for peace negotiations after
World War I, elucidated in a January 8, 1918, speech on war aims and peace terms by U.S. President
Woodrow Wilson. There are few speeches in history that influenced the world in the way Woodrow
Wilson s Fourteen Points speech did. As the leader of the free world, Wilson addressed a global
audience as he outlined the characteristics of an everlasting peace. His words were echoed in the
policies of every major Western power for the rest of the 20th century.

Foreign Earned Income Exclusion Essay
International pilots, flight attendants and cruise ship employees earn income like salary and wages
while working abroad. Most of them might assume that they earn foreign income. As such, under Sec.
911(e), they are eligible to elect the foreign income exclusion on the United States (U.S.) expatriate
tax return. However, taxpayers should first determine the source of their income by dividing their
earnings based on (1) hours spent in the U.S and the airspace over the U.S.; (2) hours spent in foreign
countries and airspace over foreign countries; and (3) hours spent in international airspace and waters.
The first two are self explanatory. (1) are considered as the US source of income, and (2) is consider

Since, the regulation does not expressly exclude international airspace from the definition of foreign
country, income earned over international airspace should be classified as foreign source income. To
avoid a similar argument and upholding the validity of the regulation, in Arnett v. Commissioner, the
Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit stressed out that sovereignty is an essential component of the
definition of a foreign country under the regulation. So since income earned in airspace over
international waters is not considered a foreign source income, how should the taxpayer classify it?
Kuntz and Peroni suggested that most flight attendants, pilots, sailors and the like determine their
transportation income under the place of performance source rules. {FIND MORE ABOUT IT, check

ocean income described in Sec. 863(d) by applying space income approach. Under Sec. 863(d), space

purposes, such as career development and organisation effectiveness have forced people to be more
aware and understand their potentials through self analysis. It requires people to assess themselves as
an object in particular event or experience, which enables people to gain self awareness (De Janasz,
Wood, Gottschalk, Dowd, and Schneider, 2007, p.8). Self awareness is the ability of an individual in

People who score high in agreeableness means that people is trusting, humble, and more to a team
player (De Janasz, Wood, Gottschalk, Dowd, and Schneider, 2007, p.23). Conscientiousness is the
drive to accomplish something, therefore people who have high score in conscientiousness are usually
more organised and dependable (De Raad, Perugini (2002, p.8). Meanwhile, a person who scores high
in emotional stability can be described as reactive while also worrying. Lastly, an individual who has
high score in openness usually are curious, liberal, and has broad interests. In the Big Five Model, I

Analysis Of Bloody Sunday In Selma
Bloody Sunday In Selma What does March 7th mean to you? On this significant day, hundreds
descended to Selma, Alabama in a bid to secure voting rights for African Americans. These African
Americans only ever asked for the simple right to vote and to be treated with equality compared to
whites, but all they ever got in return, was disrespect. Blacks wanted to be treated like citizens, similar
to anyone else with the opposite skin color. Because of this, in 1965, blacks who were not guaranteed
voting rights marched and tried to cross the Edmund Pettus Bridge to stand up and even demand for
what they believed in. Although their efforts were great, local and state police stopped them before
their march got too far. A few attempts later, the demonstrators made their way across the bridge.
Blacks had to stop marching after 10 miles each day because they had 54 miles to go to complete their
walk. This march for equal rights was such a huge issue that there was a total of 600 participants when
they finally completed the walk! In fact, this didn t just affect a few people, it affected any black
woman, man, or even children too. For example, eleven year old Desiree Robertson carried an
American Flag helping lead the group of marches down a rolling stretch of a highway. These people
walked for their freedom and never gave up for what they believed in. Now you may think that this

The Books Of 1 And 2 Kings
This paper is an analysis of the books of 1 and 2 Kings. It will examine their authorship, structure,
flow, and themes. In addition, it will compare their content to the writings of 1 2 Chronicles, Isaiah,
and extra biblical writers who speak of the same events. Lastly, it will examine the author s place in
history as a historian and theologian. AUTHORSHIP Since writer or writers of Kings did not include
their name on the document, their identity is unknown. The rabbis in the Midrash Baba Bathra 15a
attributed the authorship to the prophet Jeremiah on the basis that 2 Kings 24:18 25:30 was identical to
Jeremiah 52. Traditionally, Christian scholars accepted this explanation without much qualm.
However, in the late nineteenth century and early twentieth century, scholars took the view that
someone edited Kings from already existing works. Since the theme of following the Law of Moses
recorded in the book of Deuteronomy runs throughout Genesis 2 Kings, most scholars title the person
or persons who did the writing and editing of these books the Deuteronomist. This paper will refer to
the writer of 1 2 Kings as the Deuteronomist in keeping with scholastic tradition. Some scholars
believe the Deuteronomist wrote during or after the Babylonian exile. A writing of the end of 2 Kings
during the beginning of the exile is plausible but not later than the start of the exile. A comparison of 1
2 Kings and Chronicles proves this theory. Chronicles was written after the

A1. Budgetary Items Of Concern Within the budget for Competition Bikes, Inc., there are a few
different items of concern. Some items that raise a concern within the budget are the projected number
of unit sales and the amounts budgeted for advertising and research and development. I think it is
obvious in the previous years that the amount the company spends on advertising has a direct effect on
the number of sales. According to the projected number of units that are expected to be sold, the
company is expecting an increase from 3,400 in year 8 to 3510 in year 9. This is a considerable

thing because there was an improvement in sales from the prior year. The next four variances were
favorable ones for the company. Direct materials, direct labor, manufacturing overhead, and variable
selling expenses all had favorable variances. This is to be expected as the company sold fewer units
than they had projected for. Competition should be spending less on variable expenses when they are

The, Tan Skin, And Expensive Cloths
Defined muscles, tan skin, and expensive cloths. These are the typical values of someone from Jersey

important things in life. But looking at the whole country there would be a consensus that the cultural
values is roughly the same. That professional baseball players are fiscally worth more than teachers

A social construction is an idea that is perpetuated and given meaning by the people who believe in

their creators and as such can change the meaning situationally. Over time the ideas can grow to

Theories Surrounding The RMS Titanic
The RMS Titanic is a passenger liner that sunk in the North Atlantic in 1912 after hitting an iceberg.
About 1,500 of the estimated 2,224 passengers died. The ship sailed full speed despite ice warnings,
preventing it from stopping or steering away from the berg. Watertight compartments flooded, causing
Titanic to go under. These details are supported by accounts and physical evidence, and therefore,
widely accepted as truth. However, there s a few alternative conspiracy and architectural theories. The
most notorious theory is by author Robin Gardiner, who posited Titanic was actually its sister ship,
Olympic. In an accident report, Olympic was found responsible for a 1911 collision with the HMS
Hawke. Consequently, the insurers wouldn t cover the damages, and Titanic s debut was delayed.
Gardiner suggests that to ensure financial gains from at least one running liner, Olympic was patched
up and renovated to pose as Titanic. The two ships were very similar in design, with minor external
and moderate internal differences. Both also had linoleum floors, which a managing director
demanded be covered on the alleged Titanic at the last minute. ... Show more content on

Domestic Terrorism Related Intelligence.
Domestic Terrorism Related Intelligence
Abstract
Domestic terrorism is like cancer that eats away at the very values and beliefs of the American people.
Instead of combining efforts to peacefully and legally enact change, domestic terrorists take the law
and actions into their own hands. Groups such as eco terrorists use firebombing to make their point
that the Earth will be protected at all costs. That cost even meant human lives. Militia groups feel the
same way. Their goal is not about saving the Earth but rather to change the government. They see it as
too weak to handle the needs of the America people. These individuals use modified firearms,
explosives, and survival tactics. Law abiding citizens are not defenseless, the FBI and NCIRC work

Analysis of Women Role´s in Louisa May Alcott´s Little Women
Throughout most of the 19th century, feminine behavior was expected from every respectable woman.
However Lousia May Alcott s novel Little Women displays interesting qualities from her characters
that represent aberrance and independence; Alcott challenged conventional beliefs about how women
should behave in the 1800s. Similar to Alcott herself, the main character was determined to become a
writer despite the fact that popular portrayals of working women during the era often pictured them as
socially deviant and was considered unfit to become a motherly figure (Alcott, Louisa May). She
wrote Little Women as a moral paper for children, allowing any young reader to relate to at least one
of the March Girls: Meg, Jo, Beth, or Amy ( In the Garret ). In her innovative novel Little Women,
Alcott expresses her controversial views concerning traditional roles of women through the
temperamental protagonist, Jo, who represents independence and morality for girls in the late 1800s.
Traditional roles of women in America during the 1860s were significantly different than they are
today. Around the Civil War era, most women were expected to be homemakers above anything else.
They spent much of their days cooking, sewing, or cleaning, and if they failed to create a cheerful,
cozy home environment, they were looked down upon because it was considered unacceptable
according to society s standards. ( Literature and Its Times. ) In addition to housework, mothers

Summary Of Paul Revere
This is the tale of some of the greatest heroes of the American Revolution. The first hero is Paul
Revere. On April 19, 1775, he heard the news of what the British had planned. General Gage of the

up. On the way to Lexington to save Sam Adams and John Hancock he was stopped by British
soldiers on horses. They asked him where he was going and he told them he was going to warn the
people of the regulars that were coming. They thought that their army was too powerful and that it
didn t matter if the colonists knew that they were coming. So, they let him go. When he got to
Lexington the Regulars weren t there yet. He found John Hancock and Sam Adams and knocked on
their door. Someone came down and asked what he was doing there. He told them to pack their bags
and get out of Lexington. After that he rode on. He soon realized that he should go back and check on

because eating this junk foods such as butter popcorn and soda. Sad thing about this is there is only a
limited options and foods from outside is not permitted. There is no variety in this theater. Our aim is
to change the normal snacking pattern seen in movie theater. Our plan is provide healthy snacks and
drinks in theater using ingredients from local produce. This helps in improving or change the snacking
habit or pattern among the customers in the theater. Usage of local farm produce ingredients we are
able to give good organic foods to the customers. This helps the customers as well as the local farms.
By using seasonal ingredients it helps in cost effective. We are also planning to provide small talks
about nutritious food choices and quizzes or games inside the theater for free. Thereby, it also help the
customers to take something to home also about the nutrition. During the summer holidays the
government of city concord have a Summer Kids Movie Series , in which children of age between five

Examples Of Hyperbole In Romeo And Juliet

Romeo and Juliet is not a love song, their love story is not the same without hyperbole. Hyperbolic

After kissing Romeo for the first time, Juliet refers to Romeo as a saint, For saints have hands that
pilgrims hands do touch, and palm to palm is holy palmers kiss (I.V.99). By using a hyperbole like
that, Juliet is demonstrating how immature she is, because of how passionate she considers their love
to be in only a few minutes. Within the day of meeting Romeo, Juliet is already saying that [her]
bounty is as boundless as the sea, [her] love as deep [and] the more [she] give[s] to thee, the more [she
has] for both are infinite (II.II.133 135). A hyperbole as dramatic as what Juliet describes her love for
Romeo to be, explains how passionate and dramatic Juliet is when it comes to her love for Romeo,
making Juliet s character immature and dramatic. It does so because she has only known him for a day
and she is already saying that her love for Romeo is infinite, whereas if she was more mature she may
want to take her time and get to know him first. Also, with knowing Romeo for less than a day Juliet
asks [Romeo to] propose marriage (II.II.144) and she says that she would follow [him], [her] lord
throughout the world (II.II.148) once again proving how dramatic and immature Juliet is. Comparing
Romeo to a lord, shows how Juliet feels about their love, she considers it to be very passionate and

Literature Is At The Heart Of The Australia English...
Assignment 1A: Essay
Literature is at the heart of the Australia English Curriculum and is integral to the teaching of language
and literacy. Discuss how the children s literature can be used to develop an understanding of the
components of the language?
Children s literature has existed for as long as there have been stories to be told to children. Stories,
books, songs, poems are all made for children. Children s literature does not have a definite definition
of what it is; basically, it is anything a child reads (Lerer, 2008). Children begin to learn what reading
and writing are used for before even knowing how the system works. Children recognise the function
of written language by seeing examples of written language that are being used around them. Many
children know the difference between reading and talking, they are aware that written language is used
to do things in this world (Emitt, Zbaracki, Komesaroff and Pollock, 2015). Quintilian, John Locke,
Saint Augustine and Doctor Seuss speculated on the ways children learn the Australian language and
learn about their lives from literature (Lerer, 2008). In fact, Lerer states that the history of children s
literature is inseparable from the history of childhood, for the child was made through texts and tales
he/she studied, heard and told back, (2008, p.1). Children s literature nurtures an understanding of
narrative structures and visual images played in storytelling, this helps develop

Enlightenment. Using the theme of the island, located out of contact with the community, Defoe
demonstrates Robinson s life as an example of the intrinsic value of inner freedom in social
development and the creation of material and spiritual base of a society. Transferring the early
Enlightenment ideas, Defoe shows the way Robinson, former Puritan mystic, comes to the complete
concept of the universe. Confessions of a protagonist demonstrate that reasonable Robinson makes
this possible after the conquest of nature, which the author describes not as physical development of
the island but the cognition of laws of nature and reasons of existence. ... Show more content on

While Defoe seems to shift between these two ideas of depiction of the setting, both hardships that
stimulate physical work and ideal circumstances for philosophical mental work lead to spiritual
transformation of the protagonist. As a result, striving for success of young, driven by the spirit of the
time Robinson transforms into the Robinson, who on the Island of Despair overcomes the difficulties
with great fortitude and returns home as an entrepreneur. Presented by Defoe, the evolution of the
consciousness of Robinson from desperate to optimistic insight gives reason to the Enlightenment
educational program of the improvement of a man and a society. Thus, the savage state of Nature in
which Man is threatened and challenged is the author s educational experiment, in which Man is self
nurtured. An experiment in forming spiritual maturity, moral strength of the personality through the
work. While the work is a forced, urgent need to survive on a desert island it does not bother hero as it
becomes a remedy for despair. Defoe elevates a physical labor on a spiritual level. What seems
punishment at first, the reason tries to look at as blessing. While the initial inner state of the
protagonist is the despair, the overcoming many difficulties, the Bible

I trust that the American lingo will keep on growing, however, different dialects/vernaculars will, in the end, cease to exist or end up noticeably imperiled. The reason is on the grounds that there are a huge number of dialects that many individuals don t think about; individuals need to likewise remember that there are just a few individuals just talking certain vernacular in various locales. The two dialects that this paper will concentrate on will be African American Vernacular English known as Ebonics and the Gullah dialect; I chose to pick these two dialects since it is critical to see this African Diaspora the two gatherings originated from oppressed Africans from West of Africa, yet today one gathering just communicates in English while the other gathering has their own particular dialect, for example, English, and Creole all through the areas of South Carolina, Georgia and Florida. African American Vernacular English began amid servitude in the south the Africans were restricted from utilizing their local dialect. They needed to discover distinctive approaches to speak with their partners and slave experts, however there is still no thought on how AAVE was totally made because of the shocking disaster of bondage. The vast majority of these thoughts are just speculations, however numerous students of history keep on studying the historical backdrop of African American Vernacular English to discover how it began. During the Obama administration, there had already been talks regarding the taxing of carried interest , the 20% incentive fee charged by private equity firms, as regular income rather than capital gains. In spite of the failed effort, politicians from both parties are now aggressively pushing to close the prominent loopholes enjoyed by fund managers widely. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Under current legislation, managers can avoid paying steep income taxes on the 20% incentive fee in favor of the significantly lower capital gains taxes, thereby saving hundreds of millions of dollars annually at the expense of the middle class taxpayer. This is accomplished through for the use of management fee waivers and carried interest tax loopholes that recognizes the 20% incentive fee portion as capital gains. *Note, that ordinary income tax rate maxes out at 39.6% while the capital gain tax rate is only 23.8%. Bipartisan push for Private Equity Tax Reform Class warfare is a term that is often thrown around by Republicans to describe any attempt to tax the upper class, and yet Republicans and Democrats alike have found common ground when it comes to eliminating the carried interest tax break. Recently, President Barack Obama met with Business Roundtable, an association comprising of the nation s top CEOs, to argue his case for eliminating the prominent tax loophole. He states that the tax loophole provides no recognizable economic benefit, but instead is causing the middle class to suffer financially as a consequence. With the current income disparity levels at record highs, the financial industry has also become the new target for many 2016 presidential nominees such as Sanders, Clinton, Bush, and Trump to name a few. Byron knew people wouldn t understand his unconventional lifestyle or his depression; so he wrote poetry that would spark people s emotions. Writing became his only hiding place from the outside world. His poetry reflects his hardships, guilt and depression that he tried so hard to escape, but never could. Byron s childhood, many escapades, and travels would come to influence his poetry. It is beyond question that Byron s poetry reflected his life and emotions. As she walks past you, you can t help but take notice of how dark her hair is and how it s the perfect contrast with her light skin. She is not just a beautiful face though she radiates her happiness and innocence with the grace in her walk. In the poem She Walks in the Beauty Byron describes his mystery women similar to this. In the first stanza, he compares the women to the night. In the second stanza, he is explaining how the balance of her beauty is one shade the more, one ray the less meaning that her beauty is perfectly balanced. The final stanza shows how her beauty reflects her innocence and goodness as a person ( She Walks in Beauty ). Byron is so intrigued by the women that he starts to mix up his senses the line Thus mellowed to that tender light illustrates how Byron is confusing tender and light. Byron is describing the light as tender which would be a synesthesia, because tender is a sense of touch and light is sense of sight. In line eighteen, Byron uses her heart to represent her as a whole person, he says A heart whose love is innocent! ( She Walks in Beauty ). Byron is using her heart to describe how she is innocent as a person this would be a synecdoche. • 7. Psychological Theories Of Crime There is great debate over the reasons why people are driven to commit a crime. Numerous theories have been developed to attempt to explain the motives that cause people to act out against family or even strangers. There is particular attention given to the motivating factors to those who chose to commit mass murders in the country because of the great media attention given to them. For example, school shootings are covered extensively in the media and tend to be more well known compared to a simple bank robbery, assault, etc. Thus, experts and everyday citizens tend to have an interest in the psychological state of the shooter at the time of the crime and what caused him/her to act out in such a way. For a Criminal Justice 1010 class at the University of Nebraska at Omaha, Professor Elizabeth Keller Charbonneau put together a lesson on the different theories of crime. One of the individual level crimes in the lesson was considered Psychology: A mental illness or personality disorder causes people to commit a crime (Keller Charbonneau, 2015). This applies to Adam Lanza, as pointed to in the Frontline video. Without explicitly stating that Lanza was driven by his illness, it was greatly implied. In the video special, the reporters focus on Adam s childhood and his interactions with his mother and peers. The video states that Adam was diagnosed with a sensory integration disorder in which he had problems with change and people touching him. This is explained in an interview with Marvin Lafontaine in the Frontline video. Lafontaine was a friend of Nancy Lanza, and also has a son the same age as Adam. The two were in Boy Scouts together and during one interaction, he remembers Nancy telling him not to touch Adam (Koughan, 2013). This seemed out of the ordinary, but it was because Adam had sensory issues, which was later diagnosed. Along with this, Adam had issues with change, and this escalated when his family moved to Newtown, Connecticut. Adam began school at Sandy Hook Elementary School and was described as shy and uncomfortable in big settings (Koughan, 2013). The young population is some tough ones to deal with just because they are so young and they haven t developed yet to their full capacity. They are vulnerable and the way they are being encountered does influence them a lot. Therefore, it is very important that police officers are trained in working with the young population when handling them. Officers should be patient and have some sense of humor that the young can relate to just to make them loosen up a bit. Police officers can go to youth programs and be part of it and understand the developmental changes that the youth faces so they know what they are going through. When it comes to dealing with elderly, you have to consider the mental state and physical health before encountering them. • 12. Gap Year Disadvantages While beneficial to students in certain circumstances, a gap year s success ultimately depends on background elements like socioeconomic status. Students taking a gap year must possess a structured plan and must actively seek productive ways to explore their passions to dully utilize it to their benefit. Often enough, a student s background will determine his or her effectiveness in a gap year. While students at prestigious universities like Harvard exhibit higher GPAs, one should note that for students of low socioeconomic status taking a gap year puts them at a sizable disadvantage compared to peers who enter college right away (Hoder; Figure H). The seemingly contradictory nature of this data would imply gap years require certain conditions for success. One must factor that places like Harvard typically have students of higher socioeconomic status due to the nature of the school, meaning the experiences of a wealthier person in his or her gap year would differ with the experience of a lower income student. Therefore, a gap year could yield benefits but only with the right resources available. Lining up with this, students who take a gap year typically come from higher income households (figure I). In figure C for example, the lesser degrees for gap year students stem from using one or more gap years instead of just one year, since the previously mentioned data implied most higher income students will take off a single gap year and not more. As the number of students is predicted only to increase in the years to come, the University must reflect on the housing options for these 37,100 students. Freshman students required to live on campus face a difficult situation lack of housing. With that being said, the best and most efficient way to cope with the ever growing population is to allow freshmen to live off campus, and build more apartments around campus to allow thousands of more students to have places to live in the future. Providing housing on campus for nearly 8,000 freshman students is nearly impossible. The Presidential Villages house 1,840 students. Blout, Bryant, Bryce Lawn, Burke, Friedman, The Highlands, Lakeside, Parham, Paty, Ridgecrest, Riverside, Somerville, and Tutwiler house roughly 5,000 more students. These freshman options barely fit the ever growing number of new students coming to Alabama. The University of Alabama board of trustees recently approved a $124 million dollar project to tear down and rebuild Julia Tutwiler Dorms. The dorm currently houses 1,000 freshman girls. The Tutwiler Dorms are due to be torn down at the end of the 2017 Spring Semester. The new building is scheduled to be finished in 2020. • 15. Boundary Layers During The Early 1900s By Ludwig Prandtl section{Boundary Layers} The concept of boundary layers was first thought of in the early 1900s by Ludwig Prandtl. He presented a paper in Germany in 1904 which outlined a slightly viscous fluid near a solid boundary cite{Prandtl}. In this paper certain assumptions were made. Firstly the Reynolds number is large, so the viscous terms can be neglected far away from the solid boundary. Then there exists a thin layer of fluid near the solid boundary and this fluid is known as a boundary layer. Outside this viscous fluid is an inviscid fluid region, which gives rises to a multideck structure. This boundary layer has a thickness of $delta$ and is proportional to Reynolds number by $delta/L propto {Re}^{ 1/2}$, where $L$ is the characteristic length scale of the solid boundary. The pressure from outside the boundary layer is not significantly different from the pressure inside the boundary layer. The boundary condition for pressure can be approximated by the value of upper boundary in the inviscid region. Rescaling the wall normal coordinate $y$ by the boundary layer thickness ${Re}^{ 1/2}$ implies that we are located within the boundary layer and this retains some viscous terms. The following scalings are introduced to perform analysis within a boundary layer egin{eqnarray} x^*=xL, quad y^*=delta yL,quad z^*=zL,quad p^*= ho{U_{infty}}^2p, label{BL_nondim1} {u}^*=U_{infty}{u}, quad {v}^*=epsilon U_{infty}{v}, quad {w}^*=U_{infty}{w}. label{BL_nondim2} end{eqnarray} The ... Like Ignatius Loyola, the founder of the Jesuits, he confronted the difficulties and challenges the Jesuits faced in his day with brilliance, holiness, and courage. Despite witnessing horrible atrocities, Arrupe believed God is everywhere in the world. He often said, All are called to know and serve God, and put that belief into practice through his missionary work. This ethos was the sign of a man truly born to serve others, a man who, through his compassion and love for others, set the world ablaze. On this significant day, hundreds descended to Selma, Alabama in a bid to secure voting rights for African Americans. Blacks wanted to be treated like citizens, similar to anyone else with the opposite skin color. Because of this, in 1965, blacks who were not guaranteed voting rights marched and tried to cross the Edmund Pettus Bridge to stand up and even demand for what they believed in. Although their efforts were great, local and state police stopped them before their march got too far. A few attempts later, the demonstrators made their way across the bridge. In addition, it will compare their content to the writings of 1 2 Chronicles, Isaiah, and extra biblical writers who speak of the same events. Lastly, it will examine the author s place in history as a historian and theologian. AUTHORSHIP Since writer or writers of Kings did not include their name on the document, their identity is unknown. The rabbis in the Midrash Baba Bathra 15a attributed the authorship to the prophet Jeremiah on the basis that 2 Kings 24:18 25:30 was identical to Jeremiah 52. Traditionally, Christian scholars accepted this explanation without much qualm. However, in the late nineteenth century and early twentieth century, scholars took the view that someone edited Kings from already existing works. Since the theme of following the Law of Moses recorded in the book of Deuteronomy runs throughout Genesis 2 Kings, most scholars title the person or persons who did the writing and editing of these books the Deuteronomist. This paper will refer to the writer of 1 2 Kings as the Deuteronomist in keeping with scholastic tradition. Some scholars believe the Deuteronomist wrote during or after the Babylonian exile. In an accident report, Olympic was found responsible for a 1911 collision with the HMS Hawke. Consequently, the insurers wouldn t cover the damages, and Titanic s debut was delayed. Gardiner suggests that to ensure financial gains from at least one running liner, Olympic was patched up and renovated to pose as Titanic. The two ships were very similar in design, with minor external and moderate internal differences. Both also had linoleum floors, which a managing director demanded be covered on the alleged Titanic at the last minute. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 37. Analysis of Women Role´s in Louisa May Alcott´s Little Women Throughout most of the 19th century, feminine behavior was expected from every respectable woman. However Lousia May Alcott s novel Little Women displays interesting qualities from her characters that represent aberrance and independence; Alcott challenged conventional beliefs about how women should behave in the 1800s. Similar to Alcott herself, the main character was determined to become a writer despite the fact that popular portrayals of working women during the era often pictured them as socially deviant and was considered unfit to become a motherly figure (Alcott, Louisa May). She wrote Little Women as a moral paper for children, allowing any young reader to relate to at least one of the March Girls: Meg, Jo, Beth, or Amy ( In the Garret ). In her innovative novel Little Women, Alcott expresses her controversial views concerning traditional roles of women through the temperamental protagonist, Jo, who represents independence and morality for girls in the late 1800s. Traditional roles of women in America during the 1860s were significantly different than they are today. Around the Civil War era, most women were expected to be homemakers above anything else. They spent much of their days cooking, sewing, or cleaning, and if they failed to create a cheerful, cozy home environment, they were looked down upon because it was considered unacceptable according to society s standards. • 39. To A Daughter Leaving Home By Mrs. Pastan The title of the poem is To a Daughter leaving Home it tells you a lot of what the poem is talking about. I decided to use this poem because my parents are both going through what this mother is going through, graduating college and soon starting my life in the military. Mrs. Pastan wrote this poem describing a parent s emotional state as her daughter goes away. In the poem the stanzas all have different meanings but three caught my eye. The first one was the moment as she ran along side her daughter teaching her to ride a bike, which symbolizes how the speaker has raised her daughter and was with her through all the wobbles in her life. The second one is the daughter rides further and further away on the bike, the speaker is growing more ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 41. Examples Of Hyperbole In Romeo And Juliet Mokokoma Mokhonoana once said, Love songs are nothing without exaggeration . Even though Romeo and Juliet is not a love song, their love story is not the same without hyperbole. Hyperbolic citations help to develop character because it quickly shows what characters are like based on the things they say and do. In Romeo and Juliet, characters develop immensely throughout the play due to hyperbole because of how it showcases the characters emotions and actions. Both Romeo and Juliet s characters use hyperbole frequently and without it, their love would not be the same. In William Shakespeare s Romeo and Juliet , hyperbole helps to develop the characters immaturity and hasty decisions, by exaggerating their emotions and actions highlighting ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... After kissing Romeo for the first time, Juliet refers to Romeo as a saint, For saints have hands that pilgrims hands do touch, and palm to palm is holy palmers kiss (I.V.99). By using a hyperbole like that, Juliet is demonstrating how immature she is, because of how passionate she considers their love to be in only a few minutes. Within the day of meeting Romeo, Juliet is already saying that [her] bounty is as boundless as the sea, [her] love as deep [and] the more [she] give[s] to thee, the more [she has] for both are infinite (II.II.133 135). A hyperbole as dramatic as what Juliet describes her love for Romeo to be, explains how passionate and dramatic Juliet is when it comes to her love for Romeo, making Juliet s character immature and dramatic. It does so because she has only known him for a day and she is already saying that her love for Romeo is infinite, whereas if she was more mature she may want to take her time and get to know him first. Also, with knowing Romeo for less than a day Juliet asks [Romeo to] propose marriage (II.II.144) and she says that she would follow [him], [her] lord throughout the world (II.II.148) once again proving how dramatic and immature Juliet is. Comparing Romeo to a lord, shows how Juliet feels about their love, she considers it to be very passionate and doesn t seem ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 42. Literature Is At The Heart Of The Australia English... Assignment 1A: Essay Literature is at the heart of the Australia English Curriculum and is integral to the teaching of language and literacy. Discuss how the children s literature can be used to develop an understanding of the components of the language? Children s literature has existed for as long as there have been stories to be told to children. Stories, books, songs, poems are all made for children. Children s literature does not have a definite definition of what it is; basically, it is anything a child reads (Lerer, 2008). Children begin to learn what reading and writing are used for before even knowing how the system works. Children recognise the function of written language by seeing examples of written language that are being used around them. Many children know the difference between reading and talking, they are aware that written language is used to do things in this world (Emitt, Zbaracki, Komesaroff and Pollock, 2015). Quintilian, John Locke, Saint Augustine and Doctor Seuss speculated on the ways children learn the Australian language and learn about their lives from literature (Lerer, 2008). In fact, Lerer states that the history of children s literature is inseparable from the history of childhood, for the child was made through texts and tales he/she studied, heard and told back, (2008, p.1). Children s literature nurtures an understanding of narrative structures and visual images played in storytelling, this helps develop ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Transferring the early Enlightenment ideas, Defoe shows the way Robinson, former Puritan mystic, comes to the complete concept of the universe.
