Effects Of Autism On Children With Autism Spectrum Diseases
Autism Spectrum disorder is described as a disorder that will disable people for communication and
social interaction. They will have repetitive behaviors and also will have difficultly learning, reacting
to things or paying attention. If there is an early intervention of this disorder treatment can be
manageable. Scientist believe that genetic is the major cause of autism and there is a high chance of
children to get autism if their sibling is already suffering from autism. Autism was discovered around
60 years ago and since then it is considered as fascinating, puzzling and massively researched
disorder. Several therapies and treatment that can be done to reduce the effect of ASD, but there is no
cure. Adams, N. , Jarrold, C. (2012), researched on how resistance to distract or inhibition can reveal
impairments in children with Autism spectrum Diseases ASDs. They came in the conclusion that that
autism is specific deficit, which can even increase perceptual capacity in autism. The history of autism
is not that old, but it is affecting many children life. According to the research done by Goin Kochel,
R. , Abbacchi, A. , Constantino, J. , Consortium, A. (2007) did interesting research on different
phenotypes of autism. They did the study using two distinct samples of male and female. The result
from the sample proves that there is four times high prevalence of ASD on male than in female.
ASD can be manageable if early intervention about this disorder is done. ASD is

Observation Of Students At A Seventh Grade Math Classroom
Observation of Student While observing the students in my classroom, I focused on how engaging and
motivated they were. The eighth graders at Pine Forest did not have a good seventh grade math
teacher, so the students are very behind. They know that they are behind because Mrs. McLamb tells
them all the time. Instead of it discouraging them, it motivated the students to want to learn. They
know that they must catch up, so I saw the students trying their best to stay focused and be engaged. I
noticed while observing that a majority of the class was engaged. I honestly was not expecting this in
a math class at 7:30 in the morning. The first day I got there, one student said they had the best math
scores in the entire county. So, Mrs. McLamb pulled the up the previous test scores and showed them
they were third. I could tell the kids did not want to be third and wanted to be first. They found a
reason to learn, and I think that is very important. I did notice that students were not taking notes. I
found this odd because it was obvious that they wanted to learn but they never took any notes. One of
my days of observing, I got to observe a seventh grade math classroom. I was curious to see what the
seventh grades are learning to ensure that they are not behind like the current eighth graders. The
teacher was making sure the students learned what they need to know to be ready for eighth grade.
The class I observed was a group of AIG students. Like the eighth grade students,

Disadvantages Of Designer Babies
The term designer babies arouses both excitement and fear worldwide; most envision a future where
the intellect, health, and physical traits of a child can be chosen on demand, without realizing that
designer babies are actually already among us. According to Dr. Ronald Pang, a post doctoral fellow at
the University of Hong Kong, the term designer babies encapsulates both babies who were selected
for a specific gene by preimplantation genetic diagnosis and those whose embryos were genetically
modified before implantation (Pang). This paper will focus on the former type of designer babies:
those created by preimplantation genetic diagnosis (PGD). In contrast to genetically modified
embryos, PGD does not alter DNA and instead selects an embryo for the presence of a specific gene.
PGD is offered by 74 percent of in vitro fertilization clinics, but is still a controversial technology due
to its various applications including disease diagnosis, trait selection, and sex selection (Davis). Upon
considering two major concerns surrounding PGD tampering with nature and playing God as well as
the overarching benefits and drawbacks of this technology, couples should be not be permitted to use
preimplantation genetic diagnosis to select an embryo in any circumstance.
Preimplantation genetic diagnosis (PGD) uses genetic analysis technologies such as PCR, comparative
genomic hybridization, or fluorescence in situ hybridization to ultimately select an embryo based on
the presence or

Personalized Nutrition and Exercise Plan
Personalized Nutrition and Exercise Plan
University of Phoenix
Leading a nutritious and healthy lifestyle with the incorporation of exercise is the path I am currently
walking on and will continue to follow in my later years. Following the healthy eating plan I currently
put myself on is a step in the right direction and the many steps that will follow will be the guide to a
continuous nutritional lifestyle. I am currently living with relapsing remitting Multiple Sclerosis (MS).
MS is an autoimmune disease that causes demyelination. Demyelination occurs when there is loss of
the myelin sheath that insulates the cells in the central nervous system. (Gutierrez, 2009) When an

(United States Department of Agriculture, 2009) Creating a diet to follow is easier planned than
followed. One has to follow successfully aself planned diet, especially when there is a drastic change
from unhealthy foods to healthy foods. Additionally, living in a home where others are not on a diet
can be challenging. Eating with the familywhen only one individual on a diet is a challenge to one s
will power. I can say for myself that my will power is average. Itis hard sometimes when my husband
is eating a steak dinner or fried spicy hot chicken, my favorite. I will give in at times. There were
situations where I completely gave in, but as I continue to educate myself, I have come to realize that
sometimes cheating is not worth because it eventually catches up to one s health in a not so good way.
My approach to avoid having to deal with giving into temptation is to eat before the rest of the family
doesor to eat before I leave work. That way I am not eating late nor will I be hungry by the time I
come home. Another challenge I may come across is if the Multiple Sclerosis becomes aggressivein
my later years where a work out regimen may not be an option. Therapy and medication would have
to be the option to handle the condition if it worsens. Depending on how bad the condition is, I may be
able to incorporate some kind of exercise whether it is just walking or picking up some weights. At
least there will be some kind of physical activity.

Jude the Obscure
Jude the Obscure Theme Analysis of Marriage
Thomas Hardy, the author of Jude the Obscure, focuses on multiple themes throughout his book
including social order and higher learning which is mainly seen in the first part of the book. Jude, a
working class boy aiming to educate himself, dreams of a high level education at a university, but is
pushed away by the cruel and rigid social order. In the second part of the book, Jude abandons his idea
of entering Christminster and the focus shifts to Sue. The themes of love, marriage, freedom replace
the earlier theme of education and idealism. Hardy pushes each of these themes to his audience and
challenges everyday ideology by his audacious story about Jude Hawley.
Hardy begins an argument ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Instead, he is an extremely patient and liberal husband.
Sue s views on marriage should not necessarily be connected with Hardy s. Hardy himself points out
her emotional inconsistency, and there are several signs that she is not really cut out for marriage. In
Part V, both Jude s and Sue s divorces come through, but Sue avoids their possible marriage. She calls
marriage a sordid contract and a hopelessly vulgar institution, and she fears that an iron contract
should extinguish all tenderness between them, reinforcing Hardy s negative view of the nature of
marriage.
Most of Sue s views on marriage are given in parts V and VI. She feels that the contractual nature of it
will kill all impulse and romance; it is foreign to a man s nature to go on loving a person when he is
told that he must and shall be a person s lover, (193). The visit to the unclean registry office in part V,
chapter 4 is horrifying for her, and she shows abhorrence to the ordinary church wedding. She sees it
in terms of a sacrifice of the bride: the flowers in the bride s hand are sadly like the garland which
decked the heifers of sacrifice in olden times, (215). Sue s views on marriage are rather extreme, and
they represent a push away from the norms of marriage.
Hardy also raises some valid arguments of the overly rigid attitude of society towards the unmarried
and the unconventional. Phillotson s

Elements Of Bodily Excess In Films
4. The three Genres that share the elements of bodily excess are Pornography, Melodrama, and Horror.
The use of bodily excess that enhances the emotion, violence, sex, and drama in these films aim to
project these sensations and emotions onto the audience as well. One of the elements of bodily excess
that the three genres of film possess are excessive bodily movements. In Pornography, the bodily
movements are created to appeal sexually to the audience. In Melodrama, the excessive bodily
movements allow a heightened sense of the importance or impact of the drama in the film, adding to
the exaggeration of drama. For example, the more violent or out of control the protagonist is, the
higher the level of drama. Horror films carry the same degree of bodily movements as melodrama
where the characters are usually in constant motion running, fighting, killing, etc. where there are
excessive and exhausting movements that increase as the horror heightens.
Sound is also a crucial aspect for these three genres of film when discussing bodily excess. In these
three genres. The sensation of the body is portrayed by Horror s shouts of terror and fear, Pornography
s sounds of pleasure and orgasm, and Melodrama s sounds of crying and conflict. ... Show more

protagonists in their films. Although they all focus on the woman s emotions and body from head to

that can be found in these three genres are described as perversions. As we experience the pleasure of

Koby Mcewen Research Paper
They call him the Maple Mamba.
Utah State freshman point guard Koby McEwen was the highest rated and one of the most highly
anticipated recruits in the history of Utah State basketball, and midway through his first season with
the Aggies he s already showing the fans why.
Though the Aggies have fallen short of expectations this season, spending much of the season in the
bottom half of Mountain West Conference standings, the freshman s play has been a silver lining for
the program, and a source of optimism moving forward for Utah State faithful.

up the hype. He is averaging 15.5 points, 5.1 rebounds, and 2.8 assists per game, all while shooting 51
percent from the field. He is also widely viewed as the frontrunner for the postseason freshman of the
year award, as he ranks No. 1 among Mountain West freshman in points, rebounds, assists and
minutes per game.
McEwen s high school coach, Curtis Condie, isn t surprised by the attention and success the star
freshman has been able to garner so early on in his career, saying it is exactly what he expected from
him. Condie, a Utah State graduate, coached McEwen during his senior year where the team achieved

Though he captured the respect of coaches and media around the league early on, it took a little bit

Essay On The Rebound Movie
Communication Theory Essay The Rebound
The Rebound is a romantic comedy movie, which described about a single mum, Sandy, discovered
her husband s infidelity video, then she decided to divorced with him, and moved to another city with
her two kids so as to start over again. She got an apartment that was above a coffee house. She met
Aram; a guy who only 25 years old and work in that coffee house, then they started befriends and
knew more each other. Not long after she was moving into the apartment and started hiring Aram to be
her nanny while she took on work for the first time. He started to have an inseparable relationship with
her children day by day; and have a chemistry effect to ferment between Aram and Sandy. After that
they became a couple and have a sexual intimate interaction. Notwithstanding, two of them
encountered many difficulties; and the biggest concern was that they have an age difference of 15
years. At the end five years later, they broke the rules, ignored the age problem and back together.
In this essay, I am going to use The Rebound movie to go deeply in order to discuss the Social
Penetration Theory , and more focus on the stage of social penetration process and self disclosure.

Essay on New Billing Business Network Proposal
New Billing Business Network Proposal

CIS 175 Introduction to Networking
My neighbor comes to me about a small startup billing business, he requires an information
technology design specification that will meet a tight budget $5000.00. Included in the business
requirements are two workstations, Internet access, one printer, multiple email addresses, basic
security, and a maintenance cost ceiling of $200.00 per month. I have made the following proposal to
my neighbor to meet his IT needs.
To ensure maximum flexibility and reliability I recommend that the network be configured as a
wireless only network. The number of devices is relatively small; two workstations, one printer and
one router ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Microsoft Office 2007 is recommended for compatibility with other businesses, as Microsoft Office is
the business standard for office document formats. For the same reason Adobe Acrobat is
recommended for all documents that will be published as read only or as forms with active fields.
Norton Internet Security is recommended with a 3 year subscription for updates to protect against
malware. A UPS (one for each workstation) will protect both hardware and software from the common
occurrence of power dips and surges that can cause damage and require maintenance and repair. The
cost for each workstation with all the items I have discussed is $1500.00 U.S.
In order to save on monthly expenses and decrease maintenance costs I recommend sourcing both of
these requirements from the same vendor. An ADSL premium service will meet the needs of the new
business while also staying below the monthly budget constraints. It will provide Internet access at a
bandwidth of 6 Mbps download and 768 Kbps upload which will cover the needs of a small business
that uses the Internet for primarily email. This service includes a main email account and up to 10 sub
accounts however I recommend adding the Business Email service from AT T which features 25 email
addresses and a domain name for the business that will properly identify the new business to existing
and future customers

Hypnotism Is It Magic Or Reality Essay
Hypnotism: Is it Magic or Reality
Most people know what it is. It has been seen on television and in movies, and the saying, quot; You
are getting very sleepy quot; has become a widely used phrase. Hypnosis has almost always been
thought of as a magic trick, but recent studies show that it is becoming more popular in medicine and
everyday life.
Hypnosis is defined as a state of mind where the body is more reactive to suggestions than in normal
conditions. When under hypnosis, one narrows his or her attention to one subject or object. Everyone
in the world has experienced hypnosis many times. Some examples are daydreaming and not realizing
other events happening, being engrossed in a book or a movie, or ... Show more content on

When in a light trance, it is feasible that a patient may not believe he or she was hypnotized. But under
deeper trances, more effects are felt such as feeling mellow and light, or feeling very heavy (Hunter
3).
The three methods of producing hypnosis are autohypnosis, heterohypnosis, and self hypnosis.
Autohypnosis occurs when the mind concentrates on something such as a television program or a
good book and causes a sense of extreme focus. When hypnosis is induced by another person, it is
called heterohypnosis. Heterohypnosis is produced by a hypnotist, usually a professional or someone
sufficiently trained, who puts someone into a hypnotic trance using either words, movements, or
touch. The last method is self hypnosis, which is defined as the process of inducing hypnosis by
oneself (Phelps 12 13).
Even though there are three different defined ways of producing hypnosis, many experts have come to
the conclusion that all hypnosis is self hypnosis. A hypnotist helps to guide and develop the hypnotic
trance, but the person being hypnotized is initially in control (Alman 8). As Karen Olness, M.D. from
Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio explains, quot; All hypnosis is self hypnosis. We
all tune things in and out all day long. For example, I can focus on the conversation we amp;#8217;re

Spanish and Aztec Cultural Encounter
On November 8, 1519, Spanish leader, Hernan Cortes landed in modern day Mexico, bringing along
six hundred Spaniards and a lot of native allies. The Aztecs, who were natives in Mexico, welcomed
Cortez with opened arms because they believed he was one of their gods, Quetzalcoatl. From the
beginning, they were willing to share their land and wealth with the Spaniards but they Spaniards did
not want to share this land and began to continue with their plan to conquer the land. Throughout this
two year campaign where the Spanish and Aztecs were fighting for ownership of the land, and after
thousands of people killed, the Spanish conquered the land, seizing the existence of the Aztec Empire.
This cultural encounter changed the lives of both the Aztec and Spaniards greatly by the change in
language, religion, and the benefits this take over had on the Spanish Empire. Once central Mexico
was taken over by the Spaniards, the use of the Aztec language, Nahuatl, was quickly put to an end.
The Spaniards saw that the two different languages kept a separation between the two cultures and
decided to force everyone under the Spanish rule to speak Spanish. Spanish is still the language
spoken in Mexico even after all of the different attacks and takeovers. The Aztec s did not like this
idea of taking away their language. Most of them were grown adults and had all they had known was

Pros And Cons Of The Njac
Advocates for the government and several states have argued that the NJAC would improve judicial
selection and the quality of the judiciary and that the NJAC does not violate the basic structure. In
defending the NJAC, Attorney General Mukul Rohatgi argued that expanding the appointment process
to include a more formal role for the law minister, along with two eminent persons, would help lead to
a more diverse and representative judiciary that is more accountable to the people. Also, the
government argued that a switch to the NJAC would improve the quality and merit of judicial
appointments, going so far as to impugn the merit of specific appointments under the collegium.
Furthermore, senior advocate K.K. Venugopal, representing the state of Madhya Pradesh, argued that
the NJAC did not violate the basic structure, as Article 124 has drafted conferred primacy on the

came under severe criticism, following which the Supreme Court stepped back from its judgment in a

Most importantly, some of the interpretive possibilities articulated here may have produced an
appointments process that closely resembles the existing collegium system. Thus, the NJAC could
become the collegium in disguise. If that would have happened, then, the Supreme Court would have
successfully struck down the amendment without being transparent about doing so.

Women s Rights Is The Fight For Equality
Women s rights is the fight for the idea that women should have equal rights with men. Over history,
this has taken the form of gaining property rights, the women s suffrage, or the right of women to
vote, reproductive rights, and the right to work for for equal pay. Women were conditioned to be
treated like second class citizens solely because of their gender until a crucial movement in American
history during the late nineteenth century that would inspire a long fight for equality for generations to
come. The American women s movement was a tedious yet extraordinarily important movement that
challenged the social norms of a patriarchal society for their own recognition. Overall, this paper will

The main organizer of the Seneca Falls Convention was Elizabeth Cady Stanton, who is deemed as

Comparing The Alien And Forgotten Planet By Doug Delanty
From the moment they are born, children are wondering about their world. Parents often enjoy
watching their children grow up and reflect upon what they discovered and what they have yet to
discover. In The Alien , Greg Delanty is describing expecting parents questions while awaiting a child.
Similarly, in Forgotten Planet , Doug Dorph describes children s imagination and compares it to
adulthood. The parents in these poems are able to rely upon space or visualize it as to having an
important role in the life of a child. Both The Alien by Greg Delanty and Forgotten Planet by Doug
Dorph use a motif of space as parents search to understand children; however, the parent figures in the
poems view space in different ways.
In The Alien , Delanty explains the anxious feeling that parents have before having a baby and uses
the motif of space to try to explain how parents try to answer some of the questions they have. As the
experience of having a child is new to these parents, they use a metaphor to compare their child to an
alien and a martian (Delanty 9, 11). This demonstrates that they are anxious because they neither
know how the child will behave nor how to cooperate with the new child. They also have other
questions about their coming child, expressed when Delanty writes, we re anxious/ to make contact, to
ask divers questions/ about the heavendom you hail from, to discuss/ the whole shebang of the

Women In The Lai Of Guigemar
The women described in the Lais of Marie de France often commit traditionally sinful deeds, such as
adultery, murder, and betrayal. However, with a few exceptions, the protagonists often end up living
happily with their beloved for the rest of their lives. The Lais advocate for situational judgement rather
than general condemnation of specific acts, which can be seen through Marie de France s treatment of
sinful heroines.
The central female in the lai of Guigemar is a young lady of high birth (46) who is trapped in a tower
by her older, jealous husband, Meriaduc. When a wounded Guigemar sails into the harbour (46), she
becomes smitten and commits adultery. The young lady and Guigemar are not adulterous for the sake

Theme Of Power In Dracula
First of all, before analysing the theme, it is necessary to clarify the notion of dynamic of power . In
fact, this denotes the dialectic interaction between the subject possessing the power and the object
which is influenced by this power. In literature, this liaison is expressed by the relations between a
master and a slave. For instance, the Russian writers Dostoevsky and Tolstoy explored the theme of
the relations between a master and a slave, an oppressor and an oppressed in their works. Since this
theme has stirred the imagination of many writers, it is not surprising that the possibility to expose this
type of relations has attracted the filmmakers for the decades.
It is important to point out that such creative movement as German Expressionism ... Show more

Dracula in this film refers more to the Sympathetic Cycle (1987 present) by the classification of Tim
Kane. The films of this cycle show the vampire with more sympathetic qualities, with thoughts,
feelings, fears, and dreams. The sympathetic vampires of the recent films have developed into
misunderstood, tortured romantic figures or even ultimate romantic alpha hero. Coppola s Dracula
seems to be on the border of the Erotic and Sympathetic cycles. Seduction and allure are still inherent
to him, as well as his victims are ready to sacrifice, expecting gratification from the master. The scenes
of bite do not have sexual hints, they speak directly of sex. For example, this is the scene when
Jonathan is attacked by the Dracula s brides, who lick and kiss him before biting, and the victim
endures pain, fear and sensual pleasure. When Dracula, transformed into a wolf, attacks Lucy, he
physically copulates with her. And again, we see that these relations develop with the consent of the
victim as the attack arouses Lucy, and she anticipates the vampire s visits. So, overall, each participant
of the vampire victim s relationship is not equal. One is superior (stronger, with a hypnotic stare and
other super abilities, moreover, he is immortal) and another is subordinate (just a human being, fragile
and helpless). Nevertheless, this inequality, the power, that a vampire, a master possesses and victim s
eagerness to obey make these relations tempting for

Biological Response To Swimming
Swimming is an activity that demands much physical and mental attention from the partaker. Every
time I go to Hearst Memorial Gym to swim laps, a flurry of activity occurs within my physical
existence. A schedule as full as mine, after all, is stressful and exhausting. Once I enter the pool,
though, most of my academic and social anxieties evaporate. While I may feel relaxed, many
biological responses occur in my body s muscular, nervous, and cardiovascular systems to
accommodate my act of swimming. This is not to say these are the only organ systems involved in the
act of swimming. Rather, I believe they are the most interesting in the context of biological
psychology. Upon diving into the pool, skeletal muscles in the legs, arms, and torso ... Show more

These physiological changes occur in response to the physical stresses of swimming. In the
cardiovascular system, exercise increases the pH of blood as carbon dioxide (CO2) concentrations
increase and oxygen (O2) concentrations decrease. This occurs because muscle cells use O2 and
release CO2 as a byproduct; during exercise, more O2 is consumed and more CO2 is released.
Chemoreceptors in the brainstem s medulla oblongata detect increases in blood pH and respond by
triggering the release of neurotransmitters such as epinephrine and norepinephrine (Christensen et al.,
1983). These neurotransmitters (and hormones) trigger the sympathetic nervous system to elevate
heart rate via increased synaptic input to the sinoatrial node. The sympathetic nervous system also
increases respiratory rate to equilibrate CO2 and O2 levels in the bloodstream, dilates blood vessels to
increase laminar blood flow, and increase sweating to release heat by evaporative cooling (Morgan et
al.,

The Death Of Homicide Through Executions
Everyone in the world has two things in common. These two things are that everyone starts their life
by being born and also everyone ends their life by dying. Now in the way people are born and how
they die can vary, but the fact of the matter is they were born and they will die. There are really only
two ways people are born which are vaginal or cesarean births. This differs from death because there
are more than a million ways to die, including snake bites, car crash, parachute failure when
skydiving, or even ironically when there is a complication when giving birth. The different ways
people die can be categorized into four groups, natural causes which happen when people s bodies
give out; homicide, which is when someone else ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The blood eagle was when a person, who killed a father, would have their spinal exposed and then
their ribs would be cracked and set through their backs. Afterward, their lungs would be pulled out and
placed on their ribs (Aden, Josh). Though the blood eagle was used because of religious beliefs, not all
executions were for that reason. On the other hand some people, during the dark ages were killed
because of the plague, they had or people thought they had to make sure they could not pass it on to
the next person they came into contact with. Although people were executed for religious and sanitary
purposes, one of the biggest reasons for people to be executed was to make a statement. For instance
in ancient Rome, they used beasts in the coliseums to kill people they called it damnatio ad bestias.
Most of the time these people were prisoners of war to make sure people knew what ultimately
happens to the enemies of Rome. Later in medieval England to make statements about traitors they
used and execution method know as hanged, drawn, and quartered. This method was when men who
committed treason were drug through town on a wood panel and taken to the gallows. They then were
hung close to death, and then immediately cut into four pieces in front of everybody (Aden, Josh).
Similarly to this day drug cartels make threats to other drug cartels by using the execution method

Hay Bayler Problem Statement: you have five bales of hay that were weighed in all possible
combinations of two, 1 and 2, 1 and 3, 1 and 4, and so on. The weight combination was written down
without keeping track of which weight matched which pair of bales. The weights are 80, 82, 83, 84,
85, 86, 87, 88, 90, and 91. You need to find out which two bales go with which weight and how much
bales 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 weigh. Are there more than 1 possibility. Process: my group first did guess and
check to try and solve the problem. First we thought that the bales had to be 40 50 because if you had
70+70 it would be out of the range of 80 90 by a lot. Our first guess was that bale 1=42, 2=43, 3=44,
4=40, and bale 5=45. That didn t work so then we tried doing bale 1=42, 2=43, 3=41, 4=47, and bale
5=44. That also didn t work so then we thought. I thought that maybe we had to give bales 1 and 2, 2
and 3, 3 and 4, and 4 and 5 one of the weights and see if it works. We gave 1 and 2 85, 2 and 3 84, 3
and 4 88, and 4 and 5 91. It worked but when we tried to add 1 and 3, 2 and 5, and 1 and 4 it just fell
apart. So that theory did not work. The whole class was having trouble so we did it all together. Our
teacher gave us each a number 36 48. I got the number 39. So I started with 39+41=40, then
39+43=82. Then I did 41+43=84 I kept doing it till I found the answer. Bale1=39, Bale2=41,

The Pros And Cons Of Anabolic Steroids
Anabolic steroids are a very controversial issue, commonly covered in the mainstream media of today.
Anabolic steroid is the common name for a synthetic version of the male sex hormone testosterone,
although the full terminology of these are androgenic anabolic steroids. Anabolic being the synthesis
of new muscles and androgenic meaning a boost of male sexual characteristics (National Institute of
Drug Abuse, 2012). Most commonly utilized by amateur body builders or just people trying to bulk
up, the synthetic testosterone is banned in all levels of sporting competition, for quite blatantly giving
an unfair physical advantage to the user. Anabolic steroids are frequently identified as the most
effective muscle gaining supplements around, although studies have shown how they can have
negative effects over long periods of time, both physically and socially, indicating reasons why the
potentially dangerous supplements is illegal. This often brings up a lot of controversial discussion
surrounding their uses. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Both men and women who regularly use gym facilities or find another effective means of working out,
especially those that are trying to put on more general muscle mass, will rightfully argue that use of
steroids is by far the most efficient method to do so. Anabolic steroids cut out fat, allow for more
oxygen to reach the muscles and make room for more pure muscle to grow (Fahey, T.D. 1998).
Socially they can enhance both the performance and aesthetic appearance of the user, giving the user a
new found confidence which can help them out in all areas of life and interaction with other people.
Sexual arousal and performance is also significantly boosted through the use of steroids, being a
positive for anyone in a steady relationship. These can be attractive propositions to many younger

Jamestown presented more prospects to colonists than Massachusetts Bay Colony by allowing more
than one religion, workers rights, and freedom of speech. Jamestown settlers had a bond from England

Massachusetts Bay Colony and they established a charter also. Both colonies had their have and have

Management Styles Of Leadership Styles
Literature Review Outline
I. Introduction
a. A key determinant in an organizational success is directly related with the management styles of
leadership. According to Parris Peachey (2013), the key to understanding an organizations success is
to study its leaders. A leader s ability to inspire, motive, and create a strong sense of engagement and
commitment to the organization will determine the success or failure in the attainment of goals.
Transformational, charismatic, and servant leadership are three styles that organizational leaders might
possess. While there is no predetermined best style of leadership, one can describe leadership and
management as situational. The overriding goal of any organization is building a high performing
organization which is paramount for short and long term success (DeGraw Sizoo, 2013). Both the
leader and the organization should select the most appropriate style to enhance organizations
probability for effectiveness and attainment of desire goals. Studies have shown when organizations
have the right leadership in place, an organization can have shared vision that is articulated in a
manner where subordinates desire work enthusiastically towards the accomplishment of the goals
(Parris Peachey, 2013).
b. One of the most comprehensive research topics in the area of behavioral science is leadership.

Advanced Methodology With Response Surface Methodology Essay
Robust design (RD) based on the concept of building and improving quality into a design has been
paid much attention by researchers and practitioners for years, and a number of approaches have been
introduced in the literature. There exist many research attempts to integrate RD methodology with
response surface methodology (RSM). The three level full factorial design embedded higher order
polynomial models may be more useful in order to obtain better RD solutions than the second order
model. In this paper, we propose a dual response surface approach based on higher order polynomial
models in order to optimize the process bias and standard deviation responses at the same time while
the process mean is restricted by the lower and upper specification limits. We also discuss why the
three level full factorial design is preferred over the other second order designs, such as the traditional
central composite design, with higher polynomial models. In addition, the significance levels of the
model fittings are sought out by the model selection procedure. A numerical example is given to
illustrate the superiority of the proposed approach, as compared with the traditional methods.
In many quality engineering applications, the objective is to determine the relationship between the
controllable input variables, xi, and a quality characteristic, y. Several designs are available in the
literature for fitting first , second or higher order polynomial models over spherical or cuboidal

The Impact of Television on Democracy in Eastern Europe
After the second World War , a large part of central Europe was controlled by the Soviet Union and
was forced to adapt to the Communism ideology. While the year 1989 was a turning point that some
effective revolution interrupted and the Soviet hegemony was destroyed, the demand for democracy
and freedom was increased and people tried to find their ways to speak out. With the development of
technology, mass media emerged to help address the problem. Among the mass media, radios,
newspapers, and televisions were extremely prominent because of their high speed way of spreading
information and direct expressions of images and sounds. During this period, people tended to believe

In Romania, many independent television stations appeared during the collapse of Ceausescu s power.
Under the control of the Communist Party, any information that was adverse to their regime was
forbidden. However, this was soon followed by the second stage of growing disillusionment as
political divisions made themselves manifest and the new system developed its own ways of imposing
its control on the media , often simply by reintroducing some of the old methods (Jakubowicz 293).
The television was used as a transmission platform for people who gained the freedom of words to
express their thoughts. Televisions were involved in politics in the Post Communist Czech Republic.
Before, and during the Communism era, television stations were strictly controlled by the government.
It was impossible for those people who were considered to dissent and fight against the Communism
ideology to show up in the public media. However, in November of 1989, Czechoslovakia s
Communist regime had come to its end; the staffs working for televisions were changed, which led to
the conversion of the content in the TV programs. For example, anti government representatives like

The Call Of Cthulhu, By Nathaniel Hawthorne
In Nathaniel Hawthorne s short story, The Birth mark, and H.P. Lovecraft s horror story, The Call of
Cthulhu, there are both similarities in themes and style, however, their characterization and narration
is entirely different. This lends itself to creating two different short stories, both can be classified as
horror or suspenseful. Hawthorne s story, published earlier, shares a similar theme of humanity and
union with The Call of Cthulhu. The documentary style of H.P. Lovecraft s short story contrasts with
the less personal feel of The Birth mark. Finally, the characterization of both the birth mark and
Cthulhu create the stories and give them purpose and meaning, while acting as heavy symbols for the
purpose of extending and building a fuller, more intense plot. Both The Birth Mark and The Call of
Cthulhu discuss how humanity is fickle and humans are not the ultimate authority in the world. In
Hawthorne s story, we are able to see how the attempt to control humanity is worthless as we are all
doomed and mortal creatures. As Aylmer attempts to remove said humanity, he ultimately loses life as
they are intertwined. Similarly, Lovecraft explores a world where humans are not the only thing in the
world, nor the most powerful. Humans are shown as weak, especially in comparison to the creature
Cthulhu. This is remarkably similar to the power that the birth mark exhibits over Aylmer as he allows
it to encroach on his sanity. The birth mark and Cthulhu both

Athletic Program Risk Management Program
Athletic Program Risk Management
Athletic programs and their directors are not immune to legal liability due to an injury or harm to a
participant and spectators. The goal of a risk management plan for an athletic program is mitigate the
risk of injury or harm and develop a proactive plan of action to increase the level of safety for all
(Wolohan, 2013). Therefore, having a risk management plan in place minimizes the legal liability and
turns the focus to safety rather than the averting responsibility (Wolohan, 2013). In addition to safety,
a properly formed risk management program reduces the financial and physical risks that may occur
while an athletic event is taking place (Wolohan, 2013). Conducting a risk assessment is one of the ...

The final stage of risk assessment is to determine the method in which to diminish, remove, regulate
or manage the risk as to reduce financial loss or physical injury (Wolohan, 2013). Each of these three
steps are ongoing for any organization as it is the duty of those in charge to reduce any and all risk for
participants and spectators alike (Wolohan, 2013).
Identify Area of Risk
Identifying what the risks are will enable a sports manager to develop a plan of action to decrease the
liability to the organization. This can be done through yearly audits of physical facilities, athletic
programs, current emergency procedures or protocol, and employees of the organization. Furthermore,
identifying areas of risk is an ongoing process that needs to be a priority for sport and recreational
managers (Wolohan, 2013). The risks associated with the physical structure of buildings and bodily
injury are usually the main focus of assessments. The non tangible aspect of identifying risk is to
assess employees of an organization. Performing criminal background checks and drug testing of
potential hires and current employees is highly recommended (Wolohan, 2013). Within any
organization there is the potential for sexual harassment, discrimination, intentional torts, assault,
battery, and wrongful termination to name a few (Wolohan, 2013). Therefore, identifying

Essay on Influenza Pandemic Public Health Plan
The purpose of a plan in general is to reduce incidence of adverse effects.
An initial public health plan addresses multi level and multi dimensional concerns. A public health
plan to reduce epidemic incidence of influenza is aimed to reduce morbidity and mortality, provide
continuity of operations and position the state for recovery if attacked by a novel influenza virus that
causes large numbers of illnesses and deaths throughout New Jersey (NJ) (NJDHSS, 2008). In
consideration such a plan necessitates establishing a target population and develop an appropriate
protocol. Immunocompetent and immune compromised individuals are significantly at risk along with

Development of this plan is the responsibility of the New Jersey Department of Health and Senior
Services, activation of this plan is by the Governor of the State of New Jersey or his designated
authority, and enactment of this plan is through the New Jersey Office of Emergency Management
(OEM) (NJDHSS, 2008). A legal description will provide a definitive mechanism to maintain order
and provide a secure outcome.
To establish control of influenza pandemic it remains essential to determine the extent of a possible
situation. Only sustained planning, training and exercise of contingency operations across public,
private and volunteer sectors will help to reduce the potential of a catastrophic pandemic disaster
(NJDHSS, 2008). With thousands of lives at risk the plan to reduce an incidence of influenza
pandemic maintains stages governed by a federal and state plan. The plan includes ten NJ Situations to
index an estimation of the severity of a pandemic incidence on a population and to allow better
forecasting of the impact of a pandemic with recommendations on the use of mitigation intervention
(NJDHSS, 2008). Several assumptions have been identified by the federal government which can
additionally be assumed at the state level to include; infectious transmission from person to person
from a global network, signaling an immediate pandemic possibility, 30 percent or higher incidence of
illness, illness higher amongst school age children are primary

Examples Of Negligence In Nursing
In the healthcare setting nurses, doctors and the entire multidisciplinary team are without a doubt on
the frontline when it comes to exposure. Whether in the hospital or in the community there is always
an element of liability. In this particular discussion I will address nursing negligence, perfection and
standard of care, the four elements of negligence and the importance of documentation with regards to
nursing negligence.
The Nursing profession is a broadly debatable topic. In Ireland in particular the standard of nurses is
generally good but nurses at the end of the day are only human and naturally make mistakes. This can
lead to the issue of nursing negligence. According to Lee (2000) Nursing negligence is the failure to

It is important to know that perfection in nursing is neither expected nor possible. However excellence
in the standard of care for a patient is. Perfection cannot be achieved. Nurses are not machines. At the
end of the day nurses can only do what they believe is best for the patient and if failure is an outcome
then they cannot be held accountable. The patient signs a consent form with the knowledge that failure
can always be expected regarding treatments. However it is the nurse s duty to respond correctly to
failures as a duty of care and carry out a high standard of care hoping for the best possible outcome.
Standard of care itself is more defined. It is derived from organizational policies, procedures and those
from regulatory bodies. Policies and procedures are in place to define the minimum of staff members.
They are merely guidelines and staff members are encouraged to exceed the guidelines set out. It is the
staff s responsibility to follow these guidelines when in practice. Other sources such as documented
and mandatory in services days are also set up to ensure significant knowledge of practice is in place,
thus the standard of care is

Indonesia And Its Impact On Malaysia
Malaysia was nearly always in favor of close economic co operation among Southeast Asian
countries; however, this was impacted often by different nationalistic sentiments in Indonesia, rarely
ones coming from Malaysia. Although tensions and separation have increased, Malays are much more
likely to view Indonesians as a part of their nation than Indonesians are to view Malaysians as part of
their nation. There are likely a variety of reasons contributing to this. Most importantly, Indonesia is a
significantly larger country than Malaysia, with about 250 million people, while Malaysia only has
about 30 million people, of whom only approximately half are ethnic Malays and 12% from other
Bumiputera (native Malay) populations. Furthermore, while Indonesia does have some non pribumi
(native Indonesian) populations, such as the Chinese Indonesians and Arab Indonesians, these
numbers are significantly smaller than those in Malaysia, where the Chinese population makes up over
22% of the country and the Indian population makes up about 7%. There are also significantly more
non citizens in Malaysia than there are in Indonesia, contributing to more questions of identity.
There is already significant research on nationalism in Indonesia and Malaysia, as well as

Prose Narrative Criticism Essay
Prose Narrative Criticism:
Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde and Greasy Lake
Studies in Literature
Kathleen Lohr
August 25, 2012
Prose Narrative Criticism While reading any composition of literature, the reader must address how
they will connect with the text. To do this, the reader considers different forms of literary criticism.
There are an abundance of approaches to literary criticism. For the purposes of looking at Strange
Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde by Robert Louis Stevenson and Greasy Lake by T.C. Boyle, the
narratological approach will be used here. The narratological critical approach to assessing literature
expects that the audience reads to understand how events are constructed and through what point ...

Many musicians wrote songs about doing drugs such as cocaine in the 1980 s. In Greasy Lake , the
narrator describes himself and his friends as dangerous characters, wearing torn up leather jackets,
slouched around with toothpicks in our mouths, sniffing glue and ether, and what somebody said was
cocaine (Boyle, 1981). These events are accurate to the time period, which shaped the characters and
events in Greasy Lake . A noteworthy theme of Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde is the natural
duality of human beings. Dr. Jekyll is in a constant struggle to conceal Mr. Hyde from the world
because he considers him to be indecent and capable of evil. Throughout the novella we are lead to
believe that Mr. Hyde is some sort of deranged killer who has fled London after murdering a man. It
isn t until the final chapter that the reader learns from a note from Dr. Jekyll that Mr. Hyde is a persona
of Jekyll. Jekyll claims that he allowed himself to become Hyde when he felt unacceptable impulses.
This allowed him to act, free of morals, and later return to being the respectable Dr. Jekyll. This
arrangement didn t hurt his reputation, and satisfied his darker half. Therefore, he would drink a self
created potion to become Hyde whenever he wanted to. Dr. Jekyll clearly had two personalities that
were battling to be dominant. The theme of human duality is represented in the upstanding, well liked

Argument On The Tobacco Advertising
ARGUMENT ON THE TOBACCO ADVERTISING
On Feb 6, 2001 Government of India (GOI) dropped a bombshell on the tobacco Industry when it
announced that it would shortly table a bill banning Tobacco Companies from advertising their
products and sponsoring sports and cultural events. The people that support the government plan on
banning Tobacco Companies from advertising their product, believe state had the right to intervene in
the overall interest of the citizens. They also cited the example of drugs like cocaine, which was,
banned in the world over. Most of the people that support the ban believe that so far it as happened in
some international countries like France, Finland and Norway, it is constitutional to ban the product
from advertising.
In fact, according to the World Health Organization (WHO), tobacco accounted for over 3 million
deaths in 1990, the figure rising to 4.023 million deaths in 1998. It was estimated that tobacco related
deaths would rise to 8.4 million in 2020 and to 10 million in about 2030, they strongly believe existent
of tobacco will definitely increase the number of early death.
Furthermore, Internal industry documents2 released in the United States, described 14 24 year olds as

Common Representations Of Nordic Culture
Common Representations of Nordic Culture and Surrounding Ideologies Through Linguistic Features
in Recent Animated Films In many animated films, accents are used to demonize villains, set
characters apart from the group, highlight strangeness, or add to the setting of the film. Then why is
that a more standard American accent used for main characters as apposed to the Nordic or pseudo
Nordic accents of the supporting roles? In this paper, we will look at the ways in which Scandinavians
are portrayed in Disney s Frozen and DreamWorks How to Train Your Dragon franchise by comparing
the traits of those with accents to those without. Across American animated media representations of
Nordic culture, the protagonist and their friends speak with a standard American accent. For example,
in the How to Train Your Dragon films, Hiccup and his friends are portrayed with out a heavy accent,
which stands in strong relief to the voicing of other characters such as Stoick and Gobber. Hiccup,
voiced by Jay Baruchel, is made to stand out from the other Vikings as well as to be made more
relatable to the films predominately American audience. The use of accented voicing for characters
such as Stoick and Gobber, voiced by Gerard Butler and Craig Freguson, respectively, is likely
intended mainly to create the atmosphere for the film but also indexes them as hyper masculine
Vikings. The movie opens with an intro narrated by the main character, Hiccup. Here he sets the scene

Egypt ABSTRACT
Rice is one of the most important food crops for more than half of the world s population, the rice
weevil, Sitophilus oryzae (L.) (Coleoptera: Curculionidae) is a major pest of stored rice in Egypt. The
use of nanoparticles as pesticide could be promising alternative strategy to affect pests which have
become resistant to pesticides. Two nano materials nano aluminum oxide and nano zinc oxide were
tested against rice weevil under laboratory and store conditions. Nano aluminum oxide was found to
be highly effective against S. oryzae, while nano zinc oxide has lowered effectiveness against the
weevil.
Results showed that mortality percentage of S. oryzae were 65.34 ± 8.9 and
58.58 ± 8.3 after treatment with 0.5 gm / kg, 100.00± 9.6 and 81.81 ± 4.2 with
1 gm / kg. The mortality scored with 2 gm / kg 100.0 ± 0.0 and 80.80 ± 2.3 after 14 days of treatment
with nano aluminum oxide and nano zinc oxide, respectively as compared to 0.0 ± 0.0 in the control
and 59.4 ± 3.2 with

The Potential Of Fiji s Export Industry
INTRODUCTION
Fiji is categorized as one of the five Pacific Island countries (PICs) with the others being Papua New
Guinea, the Solomon Islands, Tonga and Vanuatu. After attaining her independence, Fiji concentrated
on her agricultural sector, specifically, sugar cane production and exportation. At the same time, the
successive governments adopted an import substitution policy but later on, after the IMF intervention,
she pursued an export led economic growth policy (Gani Prasad, 2007). She started diversifying her
export basket to not only include agricultural products such as sugar cane but other products such as
gold. Gradually, the service industry overtook the traditional export industry, to become the highest
export earner for Fiji (Narayan, 2000). This industry was consisted mainly of tourist arrivals.
In this report, Fiji s export industry is covered comprehensively and within the limited resources
available at the time of writing. The core goal of the report is determining the potential of Fiji s Export
industry. In particular, the agricultural and services industry is reviewed. Linear programming model
of total return from aggregate exports is used. This is done with the core aim of finding out what is
limiting the growth of Fiji s export industry and the best way to lessen the drastic changes in the
export returns from year to year.
The aim of this report is to explore the returns and supply side constraints from a range of typical
Fijian export, and also

They will have repetitive behaviors and also will have difficultly learning, reacting to things or paying attention. If there is an early intervention of this disorder treatment can be manageable. Scientist believe that genetic is the major cause of autism and there is a high chance of children to get autism if their sibling is already suffering from autism. Autism was discovered around 60 years ago and since then it is considered as fascinating, puzzling and massively researched disorder. Several therapies and treatment that can be done to reduce the effect of ASD, but there is no cure. Adams, N. , Jarrold, C. • 3. Observation Of Students At A Seventh Grade Math Classroom Observation of Student While observing the students in my classroom, I focused on how engaging and motivated they were. The eighth graders at Pine Forest did not have a good seventh grade math teacher, so the students are very behind. They know that they are behind because Mrs. McLamb tells them all the time. Instead of it discouraging them, it motivated the students to want to learn. They know that they must catch up, so I saw the students trying their best to stay focused and be engaged. I noticed while observing that a majority of the class was engaged. I honestly was not expecting this in a math class at 7:30 in the morning. The first day I got there, one student said they had the best math scores in the entire county. So, Mrs. McLamb pulled the up the previous test scores and showed them they were third. I could tell the kids did not want to be third and wanted to be first. They found a reason to learn, and I think that is very important. I did notice that students were not taking notes. I found this odd because it was obvious that they wanted to learn but they never took any notes. One of my days of observing, I got to observe a seventh grade math classroom. I was curious to see what the seventh grades are learning to ensure that they are not behind like the current eighth graders. The teacher was making sure the students learned what they need to know to be ready for eighth grade. The class I observed was a group of AIG students. Like the eighth grade students, ... • 4. Disadvantages Of Designer Babies The term designer babies arouses both excitement and fear worldwide; most envision a future where the intellect, health, and physical traits of a child can be chosen on demand, without realizing that designer babies are actually already among us. According to Dr. Ronald Pang, a post doctoral fellow at the University of Hong Kong, the term designer babies encapsulates both babies who were selected for a specific gene by preimplantation genetic diagnosis and those whose embryos were genetically modified before implantation (Pang). This paper will focus on the former type of designer babies: those created by preimplantation genetic diagnosis (PGD). In contrast to genetically modified embryos, PGD does not alter DNA and instead selects an embryo for the presence of a specific gene. PGD is offered by 74 percent of in vitro fertilization clinics, but is still a controversial technology due to its various applications including disease diagnosis, trait selection, and sex selection (Davis). Upon considering two major concerns surrounding PGD tampering with nature and playing God as well as the overarching benefits and drawbacks of this technology, couples should be not be permitted to use preimplantation genetic diagnosis to select an embryo in any circumstance. Preimplantation genetic diagnosis (PGD) uses genetic analysis technologies such as PCR, comparative genomic hybridization, or fluorescence in situ hybridization to ultimately select an embryo based on the presence or ... One has to follow successfully aself planned diet, especially when there is a drastic change from unhealthy foods to healthy foods. Additionally, living in a home where others are not on a diet can be challenging. Eating with the familywhen only one individual on a diet is a challenge to one s will power. I can say for myself that my will power is average. Itis hard sometimes when my husband is eating a steak dinner or fried spicy hot chicken, my favorite. I will give in at times. There were situations where I completely gave in, but as I continue to educate myself, I have come to realize that sometimes cheating is not worth because it eventually catches up to one s health in a not so good way. My approach to avoid having to deal with giving into temptation is to eat before the rest of the family doesor to eat before I leave work. That way I am not eating late nor will I be hungry by the time I come home. Another challenge I may come across is if the Multiple Sclerosis becomes aggressivein my later years where a work out regimen may not be an option. Therapy and medication would have to be the option to handle the condition if it worsens. Depending on how bad the condition is, I may be able to incorporate some kind of exercise whether it is just walking or picking up some weights. • 6. Jude the Obscure Jude the Obscure Theme Analysis of Marriage Thomas Hardy, the author of Jude the Obscure, focuses on multiple themes throughout his book including social order and higher learning which is mainly seen in the first part of the book. Jude, a working class boy aiming to educate himself, dreams of a high level education at a university, but is pushed away by the cruel and rigid social order. In the second part of the book, Jude abandons his idea of entering Christminster and the focus shifts to Sue. The themes of love, marriage, freedom replace the earlier theme of education and idealism. Hardy pushes each of these themes to his audience and challenges everyday ideology by his audacious story about Jude Hawley. Hardy begins an argument ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Instead, he is an extremely patient and liberal husband. Sue s views on marriage should not necessarily be connected with Hardy s. Hardy himself points out her emotional inconsistency, and there are several signs that she is not really cut out for marriage. In Part V, both Jude s and Sue s divorces come through, but Sue avoids their possible marriage. She calls marriage a sordid contract and a hopelessly vulgar institution, and she fears that an iron contract should extinguish all tenderness between them, reinforcing Hardy s negative view of the nature of marriage. Most of Sue s views on marriage are given in parts V and VI. She feels that the contractual nature of it will kill all impulse and romance; it is foreign to a man s nature to go on loving a person when he is told that he must and shall be a person s lover, (193). The visit to the unclean registry office in part V, chapter 4 is horrifying for her, and she shows abhorrence to the ordinary church wedding. She sees it in terms of a sacrifice of the bride: the flowers in the bride s hand are sadly like the garland which decked the heifers of sacrifice in olden times, (215). Sue s views on marriage are rather extreme, and they represent a push away from the norms of marriage. Hardy also raises some valid arguments of the overly rigid attitude of society towards the unmarried and the unconventional. Phillotson s ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The use of bodily excess that enhances the emotion, violence, sex, and drama in these films aim to project these sensations and emotions onto the audience as well. One of the elements of bodily excess that the three genres of film possess are excessive bodily movements. In Pornography, the bodily movements are created to appeal sexually to the audience. In Melodrama, the excessive bodily movements allow a heightened sense of the importance or impact of the drama in the film, adding to the exaggeration of drama. For example, the more violent or out of control the protagonist is, the higher the level of drama. Horror films carry the same degree of bodily movements as melodrama where the characters are usually in constant motion running, fighting, killing, etc. where there are excessive and exhausting movements that increase as the horror heightens. It has been seen on television and in movies, and the saying, quot; You are getting very sleepy quot; has become a widely used phrase. Hypnosis has almost always been thought of as a magic trick, but recent studies show that it is becoming more popular in medicine and everyday life. Hypnosis is defined as a state of mind where the body is more reactive to suggestions than in normal conditions. When under hypnosis, one narrows his or her attention to one subject or object. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... When in a light trance, it is feasible that a patient may not believe he or she was hypnotized. But under deeper trances, more effects are felt such as feeling mellow and light, or feeling very heavy (Hunter 3). The three methods of producing hypnosis are autohypnosis, heterohypnosis, and self hypnosis. Autohypnosis occurs when the mind concentrates on something such as a television program or a good book and causes a sense of extreme focus. When hypnosis is induced by another person, it is called heterohypnosis. Heterohypnosis is produced by a hypnotist, usually a professional or someone sufficiently trained, who puts someone into a hypnotic trance using either words, movements, or touch. The last method is self hypnosis, which is defined as the process of inducing hypnosis by oneself (Phelps 12 13). Even though there are three different defined ways of producing hypnosis, many experts have come to the conclusion that all hypnosis is self hypnosis. A hypnotist helps to guide and develop the hypnotic trance, but the person being hypnotized is initially in control (Alman 8). The Aztecs, who were natives in Mexico, welcomed Cortez with opened arms because they believed he was one of their gods, Quetzalcoatl. Throughout this two year campaign where the Spanish and Aztecs were fighting for ownership of the land, and after thousands of people killed, the Spanish conquered the land, seizing the existence of the Aztec Empire. This cultural encounter changed the lives of both the Aztec and Spaniards greatly by the change in language, religion, and the benefits this take over had on the Spanish Empire. Once central Mexico was taken over by the Spaniards, the use of the Aztec language, Nahuatl, was quickly put to an end. The Spaniards saw that the two different languages kept a separation between the two cultures and decided to force everyone under the Spanish rule to speak Spanish. • 18. Comparing The Alien And Forgotten Planet By Doug Delanty From the moment they are born, children are wondering about their world. Parents often enjoy watching their children grow up and reflect upon what they discovered and what they have yet to discover. In The Alien , Greg Delanty is describing expecting parents questions while awaiting a child. Similarly, in Forgotten Planet , Doug Dorph describes children s imagination and compares it to adulthood. The parents in these poems are able to rely upon space or visualize it as to having an important role in the life of a child. Both The Alien by Greg Delanty and Forgotten Planet by Doug Dorph use a motif of space as parents search to understand children; however, the parent figures in the poems view space in different ways. In The Alien , Delanty explains the anxious feeling that parents have before having a baby and uses the motif of space to try to explain how parents try to answer some of the questions they have. As the experience of having a child is new to these parents, they use a metaphor to compare their child to an alien and a martian (Delanty 9, 11). This demonstrates that they are anxious because they neither know how the child will behave nor how to cooperate with the new child. They also have other questions about their coming child, expressed when Delanty writes, we re anxious/ to make contact, to ask divers questions/ about the heavendom you hail from, to discuss/ the whole shebang of the beginning end,/ the pre big bang untime before you forget the why ... • 19. Women In The Lai Of Guigemar The women described in the Lais of Marie de France often commit traditionally sinful deeds, such as adultery, murder, and betrayal. However, with a few exceptions, the protagonists often end up living happily with their beloved for the rest of their lives. The Lais advocate for situational judgement rather than general condemnation of specific acts, which can be seen through Marie de France s treatment of sinful heroines. The central female in the lai of Guigemar is a young lady of high birth (46) who is trapped in a tower by her older, jealous husband, Meriaduc. When a wounded Guigemar sails into the harbour (46), she becomes smitten and commits adultery. The young lady and Guigemar are not adulterous for the sake of sexual gratification; they are both tortured by love in a pure and noble form, evidenced later by their pledges to love no one but each other. Even through Guigemar and the lady s separation, never would he take a wife, for love or money, (51), further demonstrating the virtue and goodness of their love. On the part of the lady, her love for Guigemar is even more virtuous because she is trapped perpetually by a cruel master. Nonetheless, it would seem without context that Guigemar and the lady are committing a sinful act through their relationship. When the context is more closely examined, the affair is clearly portrayed as being morally right. The two lovers remain faithful to each other [therefore] the love between [them is] right and just (49). The ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 20. Theme Of Power In Dracula First of all, before analysing the theme, it is necessary to clarify the notion of dynamic of power . In fact, this denotes the dialectic interaction between the subject possessing the power and the object which is influenced by this power. In literature, this liaison is expressed by the relations between a master and a slave. For instance, the Russian writers Dostoevsky and Tolstoy explored the theme of the relations between a master and a slave, an oppressor and an oppressed in their works. Since this theme has stirred the imagination of many writers, it is not surprising that the possibility to expose this type of relations has attracted the filmmakers for the decades. It is important to point out that such creative movement as German Expressionism ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Dracula in this film refers more to the Sympathetic Cycle (1987 present) by the classification of Tim Kane. The films of this cycle show the vampire with more sympathetic qualities, with thoughts, feelings, fears, and dreams. The sympathetic vampires of the recent films have developed into misunderstood, tortured romantic figures or even ultimate romantic alpha hero. Coppola s Dracula seems to be on the border of the Erotic and Sympathetic cycles. Seduction and allure are still inherent to him, as well as his victims are ready to sacrifice, expecting gratification from the master. The scenes of bite do not have sexual hints, they speak directly of sex. For example, this is the scene when Jonathan is attacked by the Dracula s brides, who lick and kiss him before biting, and the victim endures pain, fear and sensual pleasure. When Dracula, transformed into a wolf, attacks Lucy, he physically copulates with her. And again, we see that these relations develop with the consent of the victim as the attack arouses Lucy, and she anticipates the vampire s visits. So, overall, each participant of the vampire victim s relationship is not equal. One is superior (stronger, with a hypnotic stare and other super abilities, moreover, he is immortal) and another is subordinate (just a human being, fragile and helpless). Nevertheless, this inequality, the power, that a vampire, a master possesses and victim s eagerness to obey make these relations tempting for ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Every time I go to Hearst Memorial Gym to swim laps, a flurry of activity occurs within my physical existence. A schedule as full as mine, after all, is stressful and exhausting. Once I enter the pool, though, most of my academic and social anxieties evaporate. While I may feel relaxed, many biological responses occur in my body s muscular, nervous, and cardiovascular systems to accommodate my act of swimming. These physiological changes occur in response to the physical stresses of swimming. In the cardiovascular system, exercise increases the pH of blood as carbon dioxide (CO2) concentrations increase and oxygen (O2) concentrations decrease. This occurs because muscle cells use O2 and release CO2 as a byproduct; during exercise, more O2 is consumed and more CO2 is released. Chemoreceptors in the brainstem s medulla oblongata detect increases in blood pH and respond by triggering the release of neurotransmitters such as epinephrine and norepinephrine (Christensen et al., 1983). These neurotransmitters (and hormones) trigger the sympathetic nervous system to elevate heart rate via increased synaptic input to the sinoatrial node. The sympathetic nervous system also increases respiratory rate to equilibrate CO2 and O2 levels in the bloodstream, dilates blood vessels to increase laminar blood flow, and increase sweating to release heat by evaporative cooling (Morgan et al., ... Process: my group first did guess and check to try and solve the problem. First we thought that the bales had to be 40 50 because if you had 70+70 it would be out of the range of 80 90 by a lot. • 28. Management Styles Of Leadership Styles Literature Review Outline I. Introduction a. A key determinant in an organizational success is directly related with the management styles of leadership. According to Parris Peachey (2013), the key to understanding an organizations success is to study its leaders. A leader s ability to inspire, motive, and create a strong sense of engagement and commitment to the organization will determine the success or failure in the attainment of goals. Transformational, charismatic, and servant leadership are three styles that organizational leaders might possess. While there is no predetermined best style of leadership, one can describe leadership and management as situational. The overriding goal of any organization is building a high performing organization which is paramount for short and long term success (DeGraw Sizoo, 2013). Both the leader and the organization should select the most appropriate style to enhance organizations probability for effectiveness and attainment of desire goals. Studies have shown when organizations have the right leadership in place, an organization can have shared vision that is articulated in a manner where subordinates desire work enthusiastically towards the accomplishment of the goals (Parris Peachey, 2013). b. • 29. Advanced Methodology With Response Surface Methodology Essay Robust design (RD) based on the concept of building and improving quality into a design has been paid much attention by researchers and practitioners for years, and a number of approaches have been introduced in the literature. There exist many research attempts to integrate RD methodology with response surface methodology (RSM). The three level full factorial design embedded higher order polynomial models may be more useful in order to obtain better RD solutions than the second order model. In this paper, we propose a dual response surface approach based on higher order polynomial models in order to optimize the process bias and standard deviation responses at the same time while the process mean is restricted by the lower and upper specification limits. We also discuss why the three level full factorial design is preferred over the other second order designs, such as the traditional central composite design, with higher polynomial models. In addition, the significance levels of the model fittings are sought out by the model selection procedure. A numerical example is given to illustrate the superiority of the proposed approach, as compared with the traditional methods. In many quality engineering applications, the objective is to determine the relationship between the controllable input variables, xi, and a quality characteristic, y. Hawthorne s story, published earlier, shares a similar theme of humanity and union with The Call of Cthulhu. The documentary style of H.P.
