2. Radio ulnar joints
 Superior radioulnar joint .
• Class - synovial joint
• Variety - pivot
• Bones - the head of radius articulates with
radial notch of ulna
• Ligament - annular ligament , quadrate
ligament
 Middle radioulnar joint .
• Class - fibrous joint
• Variety - syndesmosis

3. Bones – its formed by the interosseous membrane
Which extends between the interosseous borders
of the radius to ulna .
 Inferior radioulnar joint
• Class - synovial joint
• Variety - pivot
• Bones - the head of the ulna articulates with
ulnar notch of radius
• Articular disc – it is a white fibrocartilagenous
structure and is triangular in shape . It
separates the head of ulna and from wrist joint.

• Pronation and supination

7. Wrist joint (radiocarpal joint )
• Class - synovial joint
• Variety - ellipsoid
• Bones - the inferior surface of the lower end of
the radius and the articular disc of the inferior
radioulnar joint , above. Scaphoid ,lunate ,
triquetral bones (lateral to medial ) below .
• Ligament - capsular ligament , medial and
lateral ligament
• Arterial supply – palmar and dorsal carpal
arch
• Nerve supply – anterior and posterior
interosseous nerve .

11. Movements
• Flexion and extension
• Adduction and abduction
