In a distributed generation system, divers renewable agents are connected to the low voltage 3 phase utility grid by an inverter which is used as power condition and must assurance the higher efficiency of the renewable agent. To achieve this level of efficiency, a unitary power factor between the utility grid voltages and the inverter currents is necessary, and a synchronization algorithm is required for the perfect synchronization between the 3-phase utility grid and the renewable agent. The aim of this paper is to present the optimization of the performance of a Synchronization controller for a 3-phase photovoltaic grid-connected system, assessing its accuracy under different conditions and studying their drawbacks and advantages. A grid connected photovoltaic system with a nominal power of 5 kW is used so as to assess the behavior of the synchronization algorithm when the 3 phase utility grid is affected by some disturbances such as voltage unbalances.

This document presents a new control strategy for an islanded microgrid consisting of PV and fuel cell distributed generation units supplying both local and nonlocal unbalanced loads. The control strategy comprises voltage control using a proportional resonance controller, droop-based power sharing, and a negative sequence impedance controller. The voltage controller regulates load voltages while the droop controller shares average power. The negative sequence controller minimizes negative sequence currents in the microgrid lines by adjusting each DG unit's negative sequence output impedance, improving power quality under unbalanced conditions. Time-domain simulations in MATLAB/Simulink validate the control strategy's performance for the PV and fuel cell microgrid.

electronics has led to the extensive usage of solar power. Solar power output
varies with the weather conditions and under shading conditions. With the
increasing concerns of the impacts of the high penetration of Photovoltaic

This document discusses optimizing the energy production of an autonomous photovoltaic (PV) system with a simple charge regulator. The study determines the optimal open circuit voltage range of the PV field for 12V and 24V storage systems. Mathematical models are developed for PV modules, storage batteries, and charge regulators. Simulation results show that a PV field's open circuit voltage between 16-23V optimizes energy production for a 12V system, and between 34-43V for a 24V system, under standard test conditions. The optimal voltage ensures the intersection point between the PV and battery voltage-current characteristics is near the PV module's maximum power point.

This document describes the design and implementation of an electricity supply switching control system using a programmable logic controller (PLC). The system intelligently switches between mains power, solar power, and a diesel generator to supply uninterrupted power to loads. The PLC is programmed using ladder logic to monitor input signals and control output devices like contactors based on the power source availability. A truth table defines the logic conditions and a flowchart shows the algorithm. The PLC switches on solar power initially if mains power fails, then starts the diesel generator and switches to it after 3 seconds. If mains power returns, it takes priority over solar or diesel to power the loads.

In the recent years, the integration of the wind farms into the electrical grids has increased rapidly. Especially, the wind power plants made up with doubly fed induction generators due to its many advatanges, such as being able to control its reactive power. Hence, some countries have published grid code requirements related to the reactive power that the wind turbines have to satisfy. This paper presents a coordinated reactive power control strategy in which STATCOM and doubly fed induction generators in wind power plants are used in order to bring back the voltage at the point of common coupling in the allowable range. First, reactive power requirements that the wind farms have to fulfill in some European countries are introduced. Second, the reactive power limitations of 2MW doubly fed induction generator are determined. Then, the static synchronous compensator (STATCOM) and the synchronous var compensator (SVC) FACTS (Flexible AC Transmission Systems) devices are presented. Finaly, various reactive power control strategies are applied to 10 MW wind farm, and the simulation results are analysed and compared.
A hybrid DC/DC/AC converter connected to the grid without a three-phase transformer is controlled. The decentralized control method is applied to the hybrid DC-DC converter such that the maximum power of PV flows to the grid side. This controller must charge and discharge the battery at the proper time. It must also regulate DC-link voltage. An additional advantage of the proposed control is that the three-phase inverter does not need a separate controller such as PWM and SPWM. A simple technique is used for creating the desired phase shift in the three-phase inverter, which makes the active and reactive power of the inverter controllable. A new configuration is also proposed to transmit and manage the generation power of PV. In this scheme, the battery and fuel cell are employed as an auxiliary source to manage the generation power of PV. Finally, a real-time simulation is performed to verify the effectiveness of the proposed controller and system by considering the real characteristics of PV and FC.

Energy Management of Distributed Generation Inverters using MPC Controller i...IJMER
This paper presents a microgrid consisting of different distributed generation (DG) units
that are connected to the distribution grid. An energy-management algorithm is implemented to
coordinate the operations of the different DG units in the microgrid for grid-connected and islanded
operations. The proposed microgrid consists of a photovoltaic (PV) array which functions as the
primary generation unit of the microgrid and a proton-exchange membrane fuel cell to supplement the
variability in the power generated by the PV array. A lithium-ion storage battery is incorporated into
the microgrid to mitigate peak demands during grid-connected operation and to compensate for any

employs a new model predictive control algorithm which enables faster computational time for large
power systems by optimizing the steady-state and the transient control problems separately. The design
concept is verified through various test scenarios to demonstrate the operational capability of the
proposed microgrid, and the obtained results are discussed.
Fuzzy based power control of a hybrid active wind generator for distributed p...IOSR Journals
This document describes a fuzzy logic based control system for coordinating power sources in a hybrid wind/hydrogen/supercapacitor power system to provide stable distributed power generation. The system uses a DC bus structure with power electronic converters to control power from each source. Two power management strategies - grid-following and source-following - are presented and experimentally compared. The source-following strategy was found to better regulate grid power by using total power from sources to control the DC bus voltage, while allowing direct control of power delivered to the grid. The strategies coordinate the various sources including maximizing wind power, and using fuel cells, electrolyzers and supercapacitors to balance power flows.

4.power quality improvement in dg system using shunt active filterEditorJST
Injection of power generated by the wind turbine system into an electric grid mainly effects the power quality. The performance of this wind turbine and its power quality is determined on the basis of its measurement of power ratings as per IEEE standards. The influence of the wind turbine in the grid system concerning the power quality measurements are the active power, reactive power, variation of voltage, flicker, harmonics, and electrical behavior of switching operation. To mitigate the power quality problems this paper proposes the shunt compensator techniques. Here, the proposed system is verified experimentally using both STATCOM and TSC compensators. This control schemes for grid connected wind energy system is simulated using Matlab/Simulink.

proposed microgrid, and the obtained results are discussed.

Power Flow Control for Dc Microgrid Using MPPT TechniqueIRJET Journal
The document proposes an incremental conductance maximum power point tracking (MPPT) algorithm to control power flow in a DC microgrid powered by solar and wind energy. The microgrid contains a solar PV array, wind turbine, battery storage, and loads connected to a common DC bus. The MPPT algorithm optimizes power extraction from the solar and wind sources by regulating them at their respective maximum power points. It also regulates the DC bus voltage using the battery charger/discharger. Simulation results show that the algorithm maintains stable DC voltage and balances power between sources and loads despite fluctuations in solar and wind power output or changes in load demand. The MPPT approach improves the microgrid's ability to efficiently utilize renewable energy resources.

the wind energy generation, utilization and its grid penetration in electrical grid are increasing worldwide. The
integration of wind energy into the power system is to minimize the environmental impact on conventional plant but the injection
of the wind power into an electric grid affects the power quality. The wind generated power is always fluctuating due to its time
varying nature and causing stability problem. The power quality is determined on the basis of measurements and the norms
followed according to the guideline specified in International Electro-technical Commission standard, IEC-61400. The influence
of the wind turbine in the grid system concerning the power quality measurements are-the active power, reactive power, variation
of voltage, flicker, harmonics, and electrical behavior of switching operation and these are measured according to
national/international guidelines. The project demonstrates the power quality problem due to installation of wind turbine with
the grid. In this proposed scheme Static Compensator (STATCOM) is connected at a point of common coupling with a battery
energy storage system (BESS) to mitigate the harmonics. The battery energy storage is integrated to sustain the real power
source under fluctuating wind power. The STATCOM control scheme for the grid connected wind energy generation system for
power quality improvement is simulated using MATLAB/SIMULINK in power system block set. The effectiveness of the
proposed scheme relives the main supply source from the reactive power demand of the load and the induction generator. The
development of the grid co-ordination rule and the scheme for improvement in power quality norms as per IEC-standard on the grid has been presented.
This document proposes a compensation strategy using an Unified Power Quality Compensator (UPQC) device to mitigate power quality issues caused by the injection of wind power into electric grids. The UPQC is controlled using both proportional integral (PI) and fuzzy logic controllers to regulate the wind farm's terminal voltage and filter active and reactive power fluctuations. Simulation results in MATLAB/Simulink are presented to compare the performance of the UPQC using different control strategies, as well as total harmonic distortion calculations.

Enhancement of Voltage Stability by using Fuel Cell as Shunt CompensatorIRJET Journal
This document proposes using a fuel cell system as a shunt compensator to enhance voltage stability in a power distribution system. It models a proton exchange membrane fuel cell connected to a boost converter and three-phase inverter to inject power into the grid. Simulation results in MATLAB Simulink show that connecting the fuel cell compensator maintains voltage levels closer to acceptable ranges when additional loads are added, improving voltage stability, compared to the system without the compensator. The fuel cell system with power electronic interfaces provides flexible distributed generation and reactive power support to enhance power quality and reliability.
A Hybrid Control Scheme for Fault Ride-Through Capability using Line-Side Con...Suganthi Thangaraj
As the wind power installations are increasing in number, Wind Turbine Generators (WTG) are required to have Fault Ride-Through (FRT) capabilities. Lately developed grid operating codes demand the WTGs to stay connected during fault conditions, supporting the grid to recover faster back to its normal state. In this paper, the generator side converter incorporates the maximum power point tracking algorithm to extract maximum energy from wind turbine system. A hybrid control scheme for energy storage systems (ESS) and braking choppers for fault ride-through capability and a suppression of the output power fluctuation is proposed for permanent-magnet synchronous generator (PMSG) wind turbine systems. During grid faults, the dc-link voltage is controlled by the ESS instead of the line-side converter (LSC), whereas the LSC is exploited as a STATCOM to inject reactive current into the grid for assisting in the grid voltage recovery. A simple model of the proposed system is developed and simulated in MATLAB environment. The effectiveness of the system is validated through extensive simulation results

Power quality improvement based on hybrid coordinated design of renewable ene...IJECEIAES
This paper presents a comprehensive analysis of power quality for static synchronous compensator on the distribution power system (DSTATCOM) when different types of energy sources are used to supply the DC link channel of DSTATCOM. These types of power supplies have a different effect on the compensation of DSTATCOM due to operation nature of these sources. The dynamic response of the DSTATCOM has investigated that produced by individual and hybrid energy sources to evaluate the influence of these sources in terms of time response, compensation process and reduce the harmonics of current source. Three cases have been considered in this study. First the photovoltaic (PV) cells alone, second the battery storage alone, and third a hybrid coordinated design between (PV cells with battery storage) is used. A boost DC-DC circuit has connected to a photovoltaic cell with maximum power point tracking (MPPT) while DC-DC buck-boost circuit is used with a battery. High coordination between PV and battery circuits in the hybrid system is used to improve the performance. A synchronous reference frame (SRF) with a unit vector has used to control the DSTATCOM. The simulation results show that the hybrid design has a superiority response compared to the individual sources.

This paper presented the transient and operational behavior of a parallel Combination of DC Shunt Motor and IM fed by a photovoltaic generator at different solar irradiance levels. The maximum power point of current/voltage (I/V) characteristic of the PV generator was achieved for different solar intensities, by utilizing an open circuit voltage method. The nonlinear operational behavior of (I/V) characteristics of the PV generator at various solar intensities and the magnetization curve of the ferromagnetic material of the DC shunt motor were both modeled by high order polynomial mathematical expressions. The study investigated the response of the system at different solar irradiance levels and changing the torque loads for both motors and then following step change in solar intensity levels with fixed loading torques for both motors. All numerical simulations were executed using MATLAB software.

High performance Serverless Java on AWS- GoTo Amsterdam 2024Vadym Kazulkin
Java is for many years one of the most popular programming languages, but it used to have hard times in the Serverless community. Java is known for its high cold start times and high memory footprint, comparing to other programming languages like Node.js and Python. In this talk I'll look at the general best practices and techniques we can use to decrease memory consumption, cold start times for Java Serverless development on AWS including GraalVM (Native Image) and AWS own offering SnapStart based on Firecracker microVM snapshot and restore and CRaC (Coordinated Restore at Checkpoint) runtime hooks. I'll also provide a lot of benchmarking on Lambda functions trying out various deployment package sizes, Lambda memory settings, Java compilation options and HTTP (a)synchronous clients and measure their impact on cold and warm start times.
How information systems are built or acquired puts information, which is what they should be about, in a secondary place. Our language adapted accordingly, and we no longer talk about information systems but applications. Applications evolved in a way to break data into diverse fragments, tightly coupled with applications and expensive to integrate. The result is technical debt, which is re-paid by taking even bigger "loans", resulting in an ever-increasing technical debt. Software engineering and procurement practices work in sync with market forces to maintain this trend. This talk demonstrates how natural this situation is. The question is: can something be done to reverse the trend?
Conversational agents, or chatbots, are increasingly used to access all sorts of services using natural language. While open-domain chatbots - like ChatGPT - can converse on any topic, task-oriented chatbots - the focus of this paper - are designed for specific tasks, like booking a flight, obtaining customer support, or setting an appointment. Like any other software, task-oriented chatbots need to be properly tested, usually by defining and executing test scenarios (i.e., sequences of user-chatbot interactions). However, there is currently a lack of methods to quantify the completeness and strength of such test scenarios, which can lead to low-quality tests, and hence to buggy chatbots.
To fill this gap, we propose adapting mutation testing (MuT) for task-oriented chatbots. To this end, we introduce a set of mutation operators that emulate faults in chatbot designs, an architecture that enables MuT on chatbots built using heterogeneous technologies, and a practical realisation as an Eclipse plugin. Moreover, we evaluate the applicability, effectiveness and efficiency of our approach on open-source chatbots, with promising results.

I. INTRODUCTION
Energy requirement is increasing with every
passing day and the traditional fuels are depleting at a
very fast rate and they produce a lot of pollution
also.A renewable energy system using wind is found
to be clean and inexhaustible and is becoming very
popular . But the wind energy systemproduces
fluctuating power which will definitely affect the
operation in the distribution network. The utility
system cannot accept new generation without strict
condition of voltage regulation due to real power
fluctuation and reactive power generation/absorption.
The industrial and commercial customers often
operate the sensitive electronic equipments or critical
load that cannot tolerate voltage sags, voltage swells,
or loss of power, which moreover cause interruption
in life operating equipments or stoppage in industrial
production. This requires some measure to mitigate
the output fluctuation so as to keep the power quality
in the distributed network. International Electro-
Technical Commission IEC-61400-21 describes the
norms for power quality of micro-wind generating
system. The battery storage is used for critical load
applications as it supplies power for a short period of
time. The combination of battery energy storage and
micro-wind generating system in distributed power
system can provide the effective, reliable, and
durable power system. The system also provides
energy saving and un-interruptible power within
distribution network [1]–[3]. In Japan, battery energy
storage was used formitigation of variations in wind
farm output to stabilize the short fluctuation of output
power [4]. The parallel processing of wind energy
generating system and battery storage will enhance
the power flow in the distributed network. The
microwind energy generating system is used to
charge the battery as and when the wind power is
available. The control method for the state of charge
of battery unit was proposed in [5]. The battery
storage provides a rapid response for either
charging/discharging the battery and also acts as a
constant voltage source for the critical load in the
distributed network. The battery storage system
utilizes flooded lead-acid battery cell for energy
storage. For electrical energy storage application, a
large number of cells are connected in series to
produce the required operating voltage [6], [7]. In
order to verify the effectiveness of proposed system,
the current control mode of voltage source inverter is
proposed to interface the battery storage with micro-
wind energy generator into the distributed network.
The proposed control system with battery storage has
the following objectives:
1) unity power factor and power quality at the point
of common coupling bus;
2) real and reactive power support from wind
generator and batteries to the load;
3) stand-alone operation in case of grid failure.
This paper is organized as follows. Section II
introduces the wind power extraction with batteries,
Section III introduces the control scheme, Section IV
describes the system performance, and Sections V
and VI describe the experimental results and

converter to get dc bus voltage. The power flow is
represented with dc bus current for constant dc bus
voltage in inverter operation. The static characteristic
of wind turbine can be described with the relationship
in the wind as in

where ρ is air density (1.225 kg/m3), R is the rotor
radius in meters, and Vwind is the wind speed in m/s.
It is not possible to extract all kinetic energy of wind
and is called CP power coefficient. This power
coefficient can be expressed as a function of tip speed
ratio λ and pitch angle θ. The mechanical power can
be written as (2)
By using the turbine rotational speed, ω turbine
mechanical torque is shown in
Fig. 2. Power-speed characteristic of turbine.

The speed-power characteristic of variable
speed wind turbine is given in Fig. 2. B. Dc Link for
Battery Storage and Micro-Wind Energy Generator
The battery storage and μWEGS are connected across
the
dc link as shown in Fig. 3. The dc link consists of
capacitor which decouples the μwind generating
system and ac source (grid) system [8], [9]. The
battery storage will get charged with the help of
μwind generator. The use of capacitor in dc link is
more efficient, less expensive and is modeled as
follows:
where C is dc link capacitance, Vdc is rectifier
voltage, Idc(rect) is rectified dc-side current, Idc(inv)
is inverter dc-side current, and Ib is the battery
current. The battery storage is connected to dc link
and is represented by a voltage source Eb connected
in series with an internal resistance Rb. The internal
voltage varies with the charged status of the battery.
The terminal voltage Vdc is given in

Fig. 5. Control scheme for switching the inverter
circuit.
It is necessary to keep adequate dc link level
to meet the inverter voltage [10] as in
where Vinv is the line-to-neutral rms voltage of
inverter (240 Vrms), inverter output frequency 50 Hz,
and Ma is modulation index (9). Thus, the dc link is
designed for 800V.
III. Control Scheme of the System
The control scheme with battery storage and
micro-wind generating system utilizes the dc link to
extract the energy from the wind. The micro-wind
generator is connected through a step up transformer
and to the rectifier bridge so as to obtain the dc bus
voltage. The battery is used for maintaining the dc
bus voltage constant; therefore the inverter is
implemented successfully in the distributed system
[11]–[13]. The three-leg 6-pulse inverter is interfaced
in distributed network and dual combination of
battery storage with micro-wind generator for critical
load application, as shown in Fig. 4. The control
scheme approach is based on injecting the current
into the grid using “hysteresis current controller.”
Using such techniques the controller keeps the
control system variables between the boundaries of
hysteresis area and gives correct switching signals for
inverter operation.
The control scheme for generating the
switching signals to the inverter is shown in Fig. 5.
The control algorithm needs the measurement of
several variables such as three-phase source current
iSabc for phases a,
b, c, respectively, dc voltage Vdc, inverter current
iiabc with the help of sensors. The current control
block receives an input of reference current I ∗ Sabc
and actual current iSabc is measured from source
phase a, b, c, respectively, and are subtracted so as to
activate the operation of the inverter in current
control mode.
A. Grid Synchronization
In the three-phase balance system, the RMS
voltage source amplitude is calculated at the
sampling frequency from the source phase voltage
(Vsa, Vb, Vsc) and is expressed as sample template
Vsm [14], as in
The in-phase unit vectors are obtained from ac
source-phase voltage and the RMS value of unit
vector usa, usb, usc as shown in
The in-phase generated reference currents are derived
using the in-phase unit voltage template as in
where i is proportional to the magnitude of filtered
source voltage for respective phases. It is the output
taken from proportional-integral controller. This
ensures that the source current is controlled to be
sinusoidal. The unit vector implements the important
function in the grid for the synchronization of
inverter. This method is simple, robust and favorable
as compared with other methods. When the grid
voltage source fails the micro-wind generator
acts as a stand-alone generator. Under such
conditions the voltage sensors sense the condition
and will transfer the micro-switches for the
generation of reference voltage from micro-wind
generator. The above generated reference under
no source supply gets switched to the stand-alone
reference generator after voltage sensing at the point
of common coupling. This is a unit voltage vector
which can be realized by using microcontroller or
DSP. Thus, the inverter maintains the continuous
power for the critical load.
B. Hysteresis Based Current Controller
Hysteresis based current controller is
implemented in the current control scheme. The
reference current is generated as in (10) and the
actual current is detected by current sensors that are
subtracted for obtaining current errors for a hysteresis
based controller. The ON/OFF switching signals for
IGBT of inverter are derived from hysteresis
controller. When the actual (measured) current is
higher than the reference current, it is necessary to
commutate the corresponding switch to get negative
inverter output voltage. This output voltage decreases
the output current and reaches the reference current.
On the
other hand, if the measured current is less than the
reference current, the switch commutated to obtain a
positive inverter output voltage. Thus the output
current increases and it goes to the reference current.
As a result, the output current will be within a band
around the reference one. The switching function SA
for phase a is expressed as follows:

where HB is a hysteresis current-band, similarly the
switching function SB, SC can be derived for phases
“b” and “c,” respectively. The current control mode
of inverter injects the current into the grid in such a
way that the source currents areharmonic free and
their phase-angles are in-phase with respect to source
voltage. Thus, the injected current will cancel out the
reactive and harmonic part of load current. Thus, it
improves the source current quality at the PCC. The
power transfer takes place as soon as battery energy
system is fully charged with the help of micro-wind
generator. To achieve this goal, the source voltage is
sensed and synchronized in generating the desired
reference current command for the inverter operation.
The implementation of the hysteresis band current
control is not expensive. The control is excellent for a
fast response of an inverter to rapid changes of
reference current, since current control has negligible
inertia and delay.
IV. System Performance
The scheme of micro-wind generator with
battery energy storage for extraction of wind energy
for critical load application is shown in Fig. 1 and is
simulated in MATLAB/ SIMULINK with power
system block set. A simulink model library includes
the model of converter, induction generator, critical
load, and others that has been constructed for
simulation .The model has been designed to assess
the system in absence and presence of fault.

VI. Conclusion
The paper proposed micro-wind energy
conversion scheme with battery energy storage, with
an interface of inverter in current controlled mode for
exchange of real and reactive power support to the
critical load. The hysteresis current controller is used
to generate the switching signal for inverter in such a
way that it will cancel the harmonic current in the
system. The scheme maintains unity power factor and
also harmonic free source current at the point of
common Connection in the distributed network. The
suggested control system is suited for rapid injection
or absorption of reactive/real power flow in the
power system. The battery energy storage provides
rapid response and enhances the performance under
the fluctuation of wind turbine output and improves
the voltage stability of the system. This scheme is
providing a choice to select the most economical real
power for the load amongst the available wind-
battery-conventional resources and the system
operates in power quality mode as well as in a stand-
alone mode.
