This case study analyzed the impact of social media on MassChallenge's Awards Ceremony event. It found that the event generated a significant social media footprint over a week-long period. Key findings included that MassChallenge and its organizers were mentioned much more frequently than other words in tweets. The most retweeted photo came from a CEO about a keynote speaker's company. Analyzing influencers and reach without handles provided insights into long tail discussions. The study demonstrated how tools and a dedicated team are needed to properly capture, analyze, and interpret social media data from events.

documented here took place over the span of several
months, but have been edited as lightly as possible to
best capture the energy and inspiration of the
interviewees.
The book’s first goal is to help members get more value out of using ThinkUp. More deeply, we hope these interviews reveal the thought involved in creating technology that is meaningful, built on ideas thatemerge over years or even decades of work.
The document provides an overview of Facebook and how businesses can effectively utilize the social media platform. It discusses key facts about Facebook and its users. It also outlines some common mistakes businesses make with Facebook.
Some slides for a presentation I gave to a working group from our Educational Services Master Plan (ESMP) team. Our team is working on identifying demographic trends for 2020 and making recommendations for the college. My focus has been on the unique topic of technology demographics.
This document discusses the future of social media and the shortcomings of current platforms like Facebook. It outlines 4 failures of social media: Facebook, fragmentation, short-lived fads, and lack of flexibility. The future of social media is predicted to include more sharing across multiple devices in a personalized way, with an emphasis on trusted recommendations from friends over anonymous crowds. Examples are given of newer social platforms focusing on travel planning and recommendations.
I recently gave a presentation at Leuven Inc on the do's, don'ts and tools for social media management. I shared the stage with Comm&Co's Jonas Vandroemme and Binarta's Suleyman Aydogan. We talked about content marketing, content strategy and SEM activities.

The document discusses research from comScore on cross-platform media usage. Key findings include:
- Over 2/3 of online adults use multiple devices to access digital content. Time spent online has doubled with the rise of smartphones and tablets.
- Younger audiences and women ages 25-49 spend the most time with mobile and are more likely to be mobile-only users. Tablet ownership is growing the fastest.
- Content engagement varies significantly by platform. For example, food content is preferred on larger screens like PCs and tablets, while weather is heavily accessed on smartphones.

This document discusses how social media platforms are not utilities but rather data companies that aim to make money. It notes that Facebook has over 1.4 billion monthly users and controls a large portion of internet traffic. While social media is often touted for its fundraising abilities, the document argues it only accounts for 1% of online fundraising. Traditional methods like email and websites are also declining in effectiveness. The best donors for nonprofits are still baby boomers, though millennials and Gen X will make up more of the workforce. Nonprofits need to focus on engaging donors through mobile platforms and maintaining frequent conversations online to remain effective in the future fundraising landscape.
Using data to future proof your businessKylie Davis
This document discusses how real estate agents can use data to future proof their business. It emphasizes that customers are now connected through technology and big data/analytics are driving the online world. It argues that agents need to understand their customers, measure results, and change their behavior accordingly. The document provides examples of how agents can use data to understand who to target, what to say, where to say it, when to say it, and how to communicate their message most effectively. It stresses the importance of measuring everything an agent does to learn what is most successful and continue improving performance over time.

Muhammad Nasrullah is the founder and CTO of Pring, Pakistan's largest social network. Pring differentiates itself by working without internet access via SMS or mobile/desktop apps, enabling access for emerging markets. Nasrullah believes social media has evolved from mere entertainment to being integral for businesses, allowing two-way communication between brands and consumers. He advises mobile-first marketing strategies in Pakistan where mobiles outnumber other devices, and integrating social aspects like feedback channels. Nasrullah is inspired by innovators like Bill Gates and Steve Jobs and envisions better customer loyalty tracking and rewards programs for retailers in Pakistan.

Presentations covered topics such as Google Maps, Facebook's future of photo sharing, and growing open organizations like TED.
Lifelong Learning The Key To Survival In The 21st Century Global EconomyDornJurii
- Lifelong learning is key to survival in the 21st century global economy as the skills and jobs of the future will require continuous learning and adaptation to new technologies.
- Today's students have grown up in a digital world and have different needs, values, and expectations from education compared to previous generations. They want autonomy, creativity, connections with others, and constant stimulation.
- There is a mismatch between the skills students are learning and the skills required for the fast-growing jobs of the future, most of which require some level of postsecondary education and technical skills. Educators must adapt to better prepare students.
These are the slides I stood in front with @Brian_Wong during a presentation we gave at SXSW 2018 in Austin on March 12, 2018.
The presentation was a high level 45 minutes attempting to explain the cause, effects and opportunities of the Facebook+Google Duopoly in 2018 and beyond.
The SXSW session description was:
"Facebook & Google have created an advertising duopoly predicted to wipe out smaller adtech companies & continue the decline of VC funding in adtech. Brands spend millions every year collecting consumer data they should rightfully own & be able to use while Google & Facebook are profiting. This panel explores why competition reform is needed for the overall ecosystem, what makes data consolidation bad for adtech and how brands can own their own data to elevate the consumer experience."

The managers achieve organizational objectives by getting work from
others and not performing in the tasks themselves.
Management is an art and science of getting work done through people.
It is the process of giving direction and controlling the various activities
of the people to achieve the objectives of an organization Management is a universal process in all organized, social and economic activities. Wherever
there is human activity there is management.
Management is a vital aspect of the economic life of man, which is an organized group activity. A
central directing and controlling agency is indispensable for a business concern. The productive
resources –material, labour, capital etc. are entrusted to the organizing skill, administrative ability
and enterprising initiative of the management. Thus, management provides leadership to a

production remain merely resources and never become production. Management occupies such an
important place in the modern world that the welfare of the people and the destiny of the country
are very much influenced by it.

motivating and controlling the efforts of others towards a specific objective",
In the words of Henry Fayol - "To manage is to forecast and to plan, to organise, to command, to
co-ordinate and to control".
According to Peter F Drucker - "Management is a multipurpose organ that manages a business and
manages managers and manages worker and work".
In the words of J.N. Schulze - "Management is the force which leads, guides and directs an
organisation in the accomplishment of a pre-determined object".
In the words of Koontz and O'Donnel - "Management is defined as the creation and maintenance
of an internal environment in an enterprise where individuals working together in groups can
perform efficiently and effectively towards the attainment of group goals".
